Let's get ready for Alfreyco Appreciation Month!!

For Alfreyco Appreciation Month, I’ve assembled a list of prompts to use as inspiration for your art, writing, or whatever else you want to make! The month will be officially starting on June 18 and ending on July 15, and each week has weekly prompts listed with their dates below. (If you’re not able to finish your piece(s) until after the 15th though that’s totally fine; I want this to be fun and chill for everyone so feel free to post whenever you can!)

The first group below is a bunch of prompts intended for posting at any point during the month. Feel free to combine any of them, and use them for any kind of media you want!

Following those are all of the weekly prompts, which will also be posted individually at the start of every week. There are two kinds of prompts intended primarily for writing (one combination of prompts and one single prompt), and one that is intended more for visual art! Please don’t feel obliged to write or draw something for every week, but if you do choose a weekly prompt it would be great if you could post it during that week so that everyone doing that prompt can talk about your work together! <3

During the month itself, you can post all works on AO3 to the Alfreyco Appreciation Month collection, and tag “Alfreyco appreciation month 2023” or “Alfreyco month 2023” on Tumblr so we can see and reblog your works!

Week 1 (June 18 - 24):

        single prompt: person A is a witch/magician looking for their human familiar/assistant, and they unexpectedly encounter person B

Art Prompt: post-apocalypse

Week 2 (June 25 - July 1):

Writing Prompts - paired prompts: cowboy/Wild West au + heroic rescue

        single prompt: strangers trapped in a room together for a seemingly unending amount of time (either by violence outside or extreme weather)

Art Prompt: sheriffs or gold prospectors

Week 3 (July 2 - 8): (Red Web’s three-year anniversary is this week!)

Writing Prompts - paired prompts: Red Web actual investigators au + “Run! You have to keep running!”

        single prompt: person A gets kidnapped under mysterious circumstances and person B goes after them (potentially revealing scary/bamf side of them they haven’t shown before)

Art Prompt: inside the Red Web canon! (aka if they actually were the leaders of a mystery-solving taskforce)

Week 4 (July 9 - 15):

Writing Prompts - paired prompts: fantasy au + facing off with the big bad together

        single prompt: person A is easily scared and gets paired with person B to go through a haunted house together Art Prompt: high fantasy archetypes

Lil' Last Line Investigation

I was tagged by @fornhaus. Should be interesting; let’s do this.

Rules: List the LAST lines of the last ten (10) stories you published. Look to see any patterns you notice yourself, and see if anyone else notices any. Then tag some friends.

Ok so I don’t have 10 stories published, but I’ll do my most recent 5.

1) The Prince and the Pauper (Alfreyco, T, historical royalty AU)

Alfredo squeezes his hand, and in that moment, he’s never felt surer of anything in his life. “He’s my choice.”

2) To Shelter You (co-written with @fornhaus; WIP, Alfreyco (and later Jackeoff), M, RT hybrid AU)

Their hands reach out to squeeze Michael and Alfredo’s, and then they lead them obediently back out into the lab.

3) Red as the Dawn (WIP, Gen, M, superpower AU inspired by the book Red Queen)

“I just dropped by to give you a warning myself. Ramsey will lead you to where you need to be. And if you’re done admiring yourself in that mirror, I think they’re waiting for you.”

4) One Dumb Joke Away (Gen, squint and you might see Alfreyco, M, Halloween FAHC AU)

They bolt out to the car, leaving Lindsay blinking at the door they left thrown open. “I… what?!”

5) Spooky Scary AU: New Beginnings (Gen, M, halloween supernatural monsters AU)

He sips his coffee again, sighs and says: “I’m going to play some Peggle.”

Of the three here that are completely finished, all of them end on speech, and on reflection that might be too common in my work. The prevalence of Alfredo in these final scenes (four out of five) is hardly surprising since he’s at least a major character in most of my fics, but I guess I like finishing on Geoff and Lindsay more than I realise since three of these scenes feature Geoff and two Lindsay. Geoff I understand as a grounding figure, but Lindsay is a real surprise, although they were definitely the right person to close out the chaos that was the One Dumb Joke Away fic.

And most of these end on one syllable words, with the only outlier being Peggle. Huh.

Alfreyco Appreciation Month begins tomorrow!!

I’ll be posting an official welcome tomorrow with the first week’s prompts, but I wanted to make one more post before we start with all the open prompts!

In case you missed my introductory posts before now, these prompts are little bits of inspiration to get you started on any writing or art you want to make, and they’re open for you to post any time in the next month! If you want to use both free prompts and themed prompts please do; these are just some starting points for you to go off of. 😊 When you post, please be sure to use the tag “alfreyco appreciation month 2023” on Tumblr, and post to the appreciation month collection on AO3!

Vampires are VERY good thank you. I’m… Gonna do Jerevin bc I’m basic lol (if you want freewood or mavin versions too tho I might do some vampire stuff with them as well later)

“Hey Gav,” Jeremy’s voice is gruff as he greets him in the kitchen, “I’m hungry.”

It’s the middle of the night, Gavin’s just got done with one of his jobs and he’d gone out to the kitchen to find something to eat, but now…

Now Jeremy’s got him cornered against the fridge, eyes nearly completely black from his hunger and fangs barely peaking out against his lips.

“Oh, hi Jeremy,” Gavin swallows nervously, glancing around as if expecting to see one of their other roommates up at 2 in the morning on a Monday night, “um, why don’t you let me grab a blood bag for you, okay? Just hold on a sec.”

He starts turning around to reach for the fridge door, but Jeremy suddenly grips his arms, moving his wrists back to his sides as he leans in closer.

“Don’t want a blood bag. Need… Need something warm, need something to bite.” His voice comes out ragged and raw as his head dips down to Gavin’s neck, lips ever so slightly brushing against his skin and making Gavin shiver.

He’s never actually had to deal with a situation like this before, Jeremy’s usually pretty good about making sure he’s well fed, but maybe he’s just been too busy? Maybe he’d just lost track of time and now… Now it’s too late, he’s got Gavin trapped where he wants him.

“Alright, alright calm down Jeremy. Just hold on one second, okay? Trust me.” Gavin says, and when Jeremy stills he pulls one hand free from his grasp slowly, then reaches around to pull the fridge door open.

He can tell Jeremy’s struggling for some self control, gripping onto Gavin’s other wrist with a trembling hand and squeezing his eyes shut tightly as he naws on his lip.

“Here, okay? Just take a few sips for me and if you still want to bite… Well we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it, I suppose.”

Gavin hands him the blood bag gently, watching as Jeremy sinks his fangs into it and starts gulping it down greedily, breath hitching slightly as a droplet escapes his lips and travels down from the corner of his mouth to his chin. Gavin’s no vampire, but the thought of licking it away makes him feel all hot under the collar.

Once the bag is drained, Jeremy stands there for a moment and breathes heavily, his grip slowly loosening on Gavin’s wrist until he lets go completely. Gavin watches him, struggling to breathe a bit himself after he’s just nearly been bitten.

“Sorry…” Jeremy says after a long pause, eyes still closed, head tilted down and away from Gavin and his fists clenching and unclenching at his sides, “Sorry, I hadn’t realised, I- I was out all day and when I came home and found you here, I just… You just smelled so good.”

“It’s alright Jeremy,” Gavin says, reaching out to lightly brush his fingers over Jeremy’s wrist, “I just didn’t want you to bite me if you were going to regret it. But if you still want to now…”

Jeremy slowly blinks up at him, his bloodied lips still trembling with each heavy breath. “If I still want to…?”

“Yeah. Maybe you don’t now that you’ve eaten, but I’m definitely game,” Gavin says, averting his gaze nervously as Jeremy straightens again and shifts a little closer, “I mean, you don’t have to, obviously, I just thought-”

And then Jeremy crowds against him again, holding him in place without even touching him and swooping down to press his lips firmly to the crook of his neck.

When he bites down, Gavin sees stars, feels all dizzy and hot and thinks that yeah, they’re definitely going to do this again.

(been a while but i have another idea for dragon Jeremy(more of a story ^_^U ) so once a week jeremy goes through his hoard to calm himself down or something. one week he finds somethign is missing and freaks out, after spending like an hour to find it he half gives up and goes to the penthouse to see if anyone knows where it is. when he gets there matt is like "hey i found this in my hoard is it yours?" and it is the exact item jeremy is missing and the have a huge fight about it (1/4)

jeremy is all "why did you steal from my hoard!" matt is all "i haven't even seen your hoard man" and they fight for a long while stomping off afterwards. they are mad at each other for a while until Jeremy is going through his hoard and finds something that isn't his and he's like "oh no." cue going back to the penthouse and making up with matt. this goes on for a while and even starts to increase to the point where every week they are just handing over bags of missing hoard to each other (2/4)

the others are all like "while don't you just move your hoards?" and both admit they have like three times but it doesn't seem to stop it. this is also stressing both dragons out since there is someone in their hoard and they don't know who. the rest of the crew is like "we'll help." so they do a stake out at Jeremy's hoard(since they have seen it before) and it is a few hours.(sometimes remember stuff they gave to him). eventually they hear the door opening (3/4)

they all wait a moment as they let the person enter humming to himself. they surround him before coming out, the person is not surprised just a simple "hello boys". that is how they meet trevor, though he doesn't join them at that point. also when they ask why he did it he just shrugs and says "i wanted to see how long i could get away with it." (4/4)

dude im laughing so hard, i can just hear Trevor’s “hello boys” greeting and I fully support Trevor’s mingyness to be the reason for the crew meeting him
