A List of My OTPs

because it's 11 and I can't sleep.

Enjolras x Grantaire a.k.a. Enjoltaire a.k.a. ExR- Les Mis

How I fell into this I don't remember now. I vaguely remember reading a crackfic of this and then everything just went sideways.

This was also the fandom that helped me realize that I wasn't exactly straight and that it's okay to not be loud about my sexuality, that I can just be.

I think that explains my attachment to this ship, not to mention just the movie's Grantaire (played by George Blagden) also shipped the characters and played his character like how he thought it should be, Grantaire loving and pining after Enjolras without the revolutionary knowing it.

Except in the fan fics, Enjolras returns his feelings and they work it out, even though it's not easy because they're both stubborn as mules. Ah, ultimate fantasy I guess. And the number of great fics here, *whistle*

Also, the Les Amis? Is amazing? Especially in the modern AUs? Like they're great friends? I love this fandom so much! Permets-tu!

Shen Wei x Zhao Yunlan - Guardian / Zhen Hun

C'mon, Zhu Yilong & Bai Yu's performance and emotions? Plus just the fact the fanfic writers of this ship are absolutely amazing? Please, escape from this pairing is impossible!

Best opposites attract trope for me. An academic by day, superhero by night in love with a roguish police chief who has no powers but whose charisma, wit, and heart can get him to toe to toe with the legends.

Also, Professor Shen Wei constantly acting like an innocent civilian and lying badly? Gold!

Loki x Tony Stark a.k.a. FrostIron - Avengers

How did I honestly get to this ship? I really can't remember what started it all. I think it must have been a Loki redemption fic where Tony Stark and Pepper broke up and something something happened. Let me tell you, the writers of this ship have written sagas and ballads of epic and sometimes confusing proportions, and that is why I fell deeper into the pit. I mean, they gotta give justice to two brilliant but chaotic characters, right? Angst. This ship has sooooooooo much angst.

Eiji x Ash - Banana Fish

My god, if you want to keep your heart intact and not be reminded of all that's ugly in the world, DON'T WATCH OR READ BANANA FISH. YOUR HEART WILL NEVER HEAL!

If you're gonna watch/read it anyway, make sure to watch something fluffy and sweet after. There's a reason that people from this fandom go, "If you've seen Banana Fish's ending, then you can handle whatever angsty show you're watching now." ~ or something to that effect. Another thing we like to say in this fandom is, "Other fandoms: Let's write a Mafia AU! Banana Fish fandom: We are the Mafia AU." Yes, all of us in this fandom is dramatic af.

Yuuri x Viktor - Yuuri!!! on Ice

Uh, does this really need an explanation? Aside from the fact that you will surprisingly find a lot of Mafia AUs here because we all know that hiding behind that beautiful face of Viktor Nikiforov is a devil capable of... tearing down your self-confidence, like WTF Viktor, don't make Yuuri cry! Also, their dance together at the end, such beautiful love.

Magnus Bane x Alec Lightwood aka Malec - Shadowhunters

I never read the books and have no plans to in the near future. I just saw a video on Youtube about why Malec is life and now here I am, still reading some Malec fics from time to time.

Some stuff on the show were WTF but overall they were a really good couple who supported each other. Plus, they're a Power Couple.

Erwin x Levi aka Eruri - Attack on Titan / Shingeki no Kyojin

Not to be confused with Ereri, which is Eren x Levi, which I don't generally ship except for that one time when a writer wrote an epic fanfic series with Eren in his mid 20s and Levi in his late 20s/early 30s, reincarnation AU. Boy was that one a surprise. I did not expect that.

Anyway, I'm an Eruri fan through and through. Especially with that promise that Levi made to Erwin. And the reason he gave the serum to Armin. HE DIDN'T DO IT FOR THE KIDS YKNOW. HE DID IT FOR ERWIN. Plus, Levi, Erwin, and Hange are my special trio. Erwin's batch was really amazing.

Also, I really like the fact that the shorter and slighter person is the more badass fighter while the taller, bigger one is the more calculating and strategic one. Rocks the boat of stereotypes and all that. Bonus: how these two met. My god, what a meet-cute! 😂

Dani x Jamie aka The Au Pair and the Gardener - The Haunting of Bly Manor

It really is more of a love story than a ghost story. I dunno how to feel about this. I loved these two characters so much and I wished they had a better ending but I wasn't SO surprised because it was a horror series (Like, I was still hoping at the end that they'd be together forever but yknow...). In any case, Jamie was just awesome. And her nickname for Dani? Poppins?! God, what a lover and fighter. She was not afraid to cock a gun in a ghost's face.

Merlin x Arthur aka Merthur - BBC Merlin

Yeah, my brain is so chaotic multiple OTPs and BROTPs of the same pairing exist at the same time without clashing with one another or having major identity crises.

I actually really like BROTP Merlin and Arthur and also like reading OTP Merthur.

And when Merlin is paired with Morgana or Freya or sometimes even Gwaine, that's fine with me too. As long as his bromance with Arthur stays intact, because that's what drew me to the show in the first place. Personal preference. I see them as platonic soulmates.

*Shout-out to the Merthur writers though, you kept me sane during my "Post-Merlin Depression," which is actually a term thrown around in the fandom because of that horrid final season (not saying it's a good term but it's what it was called). A lot of amazing fics here, too, both Magic Reveal and Modern AU ones. Full of action and adventure too! I mean, there are boy-band-looking Knights and magic-wielding badasses!

Tim Drake x Conner Kent/Kon-El aka Red Robin x Super Boy - DC Comics

More like flexible otp. I dig Stephanie Brown and Tim Drake BUT I really really also dig Tim Drake and Conner Kent. When they're TimKon, it's like an entirely different entity from TimSteph. Ugh, hard to explain.

I mean, Kon telling Tim, "You'll always be my Robin" and Tim telling Kon, "And you'll always be my clone boy" is the shit. Also when Kon could pick out/recognize Tim's heartbeat. And when Tim nearly went mad scientist trying to bring his bestie back. Like, dudes, wtf. And at the same time, hell yeah.

Liu Kang x Kung Lao aka LiuLao - Mortal Kombat

- I see these two as more like ride or die best friends connected by fate/platonic soulmates. But also like their dynamic is so awesome, cute, sweet, badass, can't-live-without-you vibes.

Basically the same way I feel about Merthur. I like reading both romantic and platonic relationships between these two characters. Like, the LiuLao fan creators peeling off the layers of this relationship and exposing every raw nerve is beautiful.

They love diving into the characters' psyche, emotions, motivations, fears, and doubts and you get really amazed because... Aren't they just characters from a video game, you ask? Well yeah, but MK video game has several interesting storylines and the Mortal Kombat 2021 movie was just the perfect jumpstarter to this beautiful blaze.

I mean, "We swore that if we were to die, it would be together"? Hell no, you're not dropping that on us and not expecting us to create our very own spin-offs and 12-page essays on that shit. That's what we fans do, baby. And also, really, we need a shaolin monks/white lotus spin-off/prequel. We're starving here.

As this ship is the newest one on my list, it's the one I'm looking forward to the most. Not enough fan content, I tell you. Not enough. One of these days, I just might add my own.

But right now, it's past 1 and so I shall attempt to sleep.

5 THINGS YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER.

1. Indomitable - She pretty much does what she wants, how she wants, whenever she wants. If she wants something? She manipulates her way into getting it. She doesn’t stop until she has it and hardly anything will sway her otherwise. She’s extremely hard to control when determined and set on a task in mind. She’s hard to control period. She’s got a streak of wild, impulsive, and loves to toy with others be it malicious or just to tease. Her will is near impossible to break and she never believes that she can’t do something even if it is the impossible. Atop of that she’s fairly hard to defeat physically, she’ll bring more than a challenge if ever attack or if a loved one is ever hurt. I’m not saying that she can’t be brought down because she can, but it’s going to take more than a couple of hits.

2. Emotional Depth- There’s not just one tier to Isrieal, there’s a million and it’s a labyrinth. She comes off as cold, arrogant, prideful but that’s the main wall that she hides behind. She’s strong and will exude complete confidence most of the time while being sly, cunning, coy, and whatever else she can throw at you. These are the emotions she shows to the world but the rest she’s buried so deep inside that she forgets they even exist. Inside she’s broken, sad, lonely, tormented but she has her ways of hiding them and biting back the pain that feeling these emotions brings. It’s from the conditions she’s been stuck in for her whole life at Hojo’s mercy and the lies she’s had to tell herself to make it easier to handle. Of course, this naturally makes her volatile with bursts of anger or other strong emotions and if she let’s one slip out they all come spilling out sooner or later. She does have a tendency to use special sedative injections to subdue these emotions whenever she feels any starting to well up. Deep under it all, however, she loves with all of her heart once she is sure that she will not be hurt. She’s always afraid of that in a way, but there is no in between. You have her all or you have her nothing. But once there she is quite passionate and protective and more soft and innocent then she’d originally lead you to think.

3. Manipulative - Life is a game and she plays to win. At least that’s how one survives in ShinRa. She learned from one of the best manipulators out there and now she’s known to even manipulate the Professor himself. She rose herself from experiment to assistant Director by playing him and she plays everyone around as she sees necessary in order to get what she needs. She often shows what she wants to show and nothing more, near every move and every article of clothing is precisely calculated towards whomever she is meeting with. Of course, only if you don’t know her well.

4. Deals with the Devil- Oh yes, she loves to make deals but don’t worry they’re mostly fair and she is one to keep to her word and her promises. Despite her demeanor she is quite loyal when she promises something. If you work out a trade or a bargain she’ll do her best to uphold her end of it, getting you what you want in return. There is a lot that can be traded between science and other departments after all and she’s not afraid to go behind the Professor’s back here and there if it means obtaining something she’s personally after in the end.

5. A.I Alien - Lastly, yes I love the fact she is a hybrid and loves to play with quantum theory and A.I in the future. I always love the sci-fi aesthetics and concepts and the idea of something beautiful having a monster inside. She’s at conflict with this part of herself, often not knowing how to fully accept it but at least she is in control of the cells and not the other way around. She’s also always been focused on uploading consciousness and prolonging and bringing others back to life since she doesn’t age. It’s from there that she gets pulled into quantum theories and eventually breaks through to a system A.I that she makes a deal with to her own advantage, but this is a plot I haven’t touched in a while. Really I love everything about her but these are some fun and dominating concepts.

5 PEOPLE ON HERE YOU LOVE, AND WHY.

1. @animus-inspire Where do I start? Seriously. This was unexpected but yet one of the best things that has ever happened in my writing history. I love love love this ship and all the AU’s of it so much! And beyond that, it’s so rare to get me to talk a lot but I can’t seem to ever shut up around you xD. But, I LOVE talking to you and the connection we have and the fact that we have so many stinking ideas all the damn time and they all get played off each other so easily and that we can share the same obsessions and YES WHAT HAVE YOU DONE! But you are also one of the sweetest and most full of life people I know on here and I absolutely love writing with you, you’ve made it so great :3. And you are seriously best Reeve and have made me love all the Reeve. <3

2. @thefirstthaumaturge I’ve known you for about like, well.....well over 10 years xD And I love you more as the years go on. We’ve survived drama days together and now we can laugh about all the stupid RP stuff we did in the past. I also enjoy all of our new RPs and how great its been to see both our OCs grow and thrive in these communities. I also super love talking to you and playing video games with you and watching WestWorld and movies with you. Basically, you make everything super fun and I don’t know what I’d do without you around. I also love how we always manage to say/type the same things at the same time all the damn time xD Digital sisters but its as real as it gets.

3. @shinraweirdscience @xbroken-science @insidious-scientist I love all of my Hojo’s that deal with Izzy’s crazy ass and put up with me so thank you guys! I’m always down for crazy plots and all the trauma that comes with them so don’t ever feel bad about throwing anything at me or damaging Izzy. It’s what makes her her after all. And I find it all a lot of fun. I’m always ears for ideas so let me know!

4. @sadistic-second I don’t write a whole lot with you here but you’re always good company in the voice chats and you make playing games a lot of fun as well. I like our little group we have going on to do all the stuffs. I love all the gifs and icons you make, and the paracord is very creative as well. It’s always cool to see what you can do. Of course I like all the funny things too. @apathetic-ruler I have to say you’re writing is amazing, I love it! I haven’t wrote with your Ru but I love past life Ru xD One of these day’s I’ll figure out what to do with a Rufus I’m sure.

5. @ivory-paragon We don’t write much but I love playing FFXIV with you and being in all your groups. It’s a very fun and enjoyable atmosphere and you make me laugh all the time. If I hadn’t found you I wouldn’t have found any of this awesome community and my great shippy ships that have come out of it. @rikelusshinra I love all of our RP’s and stuff too. You have a super amazing OC that seems to fit right in and I’ve loved writing with Rike. Even if you are busy now. It’s rare Izzy finds ships that work but you are one of those lucky ones that she fits well with and I love all the ideas we play with as well. So to my FFU peeps! Even if we don’t write on tumblr much I still love you both.

So okay, I’ve thought about this all day and I’ll do a few categories. Since I revolve around music so heavily and no lie have hundreds of my own music videos in my head for every song I’ve ever heard, yes I’m one of THOSE people. xD

So I’ll start with what I’ve been listening to lately that really fits in with WestWorld Izzy and Logan!Reeve ShinuestiLos xD I can’t seem to get Poker Face out of my head for her and a couple other Lady Gaga songs that fit in Like this one too.

Also I really love these songs but they are so random. This one mostly thanks to ARI, but I can never not listen to it when it comes on. Also Mortal Kombat. This song makes me so fired up every time I hear any variation of it xD. Even now! alkdjfsldjfsdljf, but I do really like this mix.

Then we can’t forget those emo day songs. Mr. Brightside is one I can never resist singing. It’s just so damn good! Then there is Holiday by Greenday and can’t forget Miss Murder by AFI xD

Now I have an extremely long list of electronic type, synth, darkwave, trance, whatever the heck categories they fall under that I just like to call my Robot music xD Here’s a couple with AI themes that I’ll just throw out here. We Appreciate Power and quite literally A.I

And lastly this one reminds me of Midgar so much and Izzy, but I always see her singing this if she ever made a music video. (which apparently she’s made many) But she’d definitely be in front of wall sized windows with Midgar in the background and the labs, and its also why she sometimes refers to it as Electric City, idk who the guy would be singing with her but if you want it to be you just let me know? Lol. After all she is Indistinct. Ill Defined. Uncontrolled. Unconfined.

Mortal Kombat 1 OCs!

Here are some raw sketches of concepts of the Chaos Children! They are the future children of Havik and Darrius when they live in Chaosrealm after it is established. What's drawn here are the basic ideas for them! I will post info about each of them under the cut!

❤️1. MEAT (pseudo-OC) Havik & Darrius' 1st child. Meat was from a strange artifact found by Havik in Chaosrealm. His unusual body had infused with some of Havik's blood magic, which has given him rapidly-regrowing, but also transparent skin! Meat was conceived from a Netherrealm Demon that was drawn to the destruction taking place in Seido. Before he was born, a benevolent force (Ashrah) had destroyed said demon and neutralized the incubating spawn he had left. Being one of the first embryos planted, Meat had not only survived the neutralization process, but it had affected him in other ways, like his personality. Meat is unsure whether or not he can regrow limbs, like his father, but it is far too dangerous to find out! Because he has no hair, he has no eyelashes, and you can barely tell when he blinks. Meat is known for being rather friendly, sometimes welcoming even! Meat is not as scary as his father, Havik. He is actually rather kind and seems pretty good-natured. Havik is only bothered by Meat's benevolent nature when it hinders him- like if it causes him to be easily persuaded and gullible. 💙2. DAEVA (in Seidan form) Havik & Darrius' 2nd child. Daeva was found shortly after Meat, which makes them almost like twins. They were both found in a similar manner as well! Daeva was found when Darrius went to investigate a disturbance in the depths of Chaosrealm's (Seido's) ruins. Just like Meat, Daeva was conceived from the same Netherrealm Demon. When Ashrah's movement became evident to Havik, Darrius had went out to scout the area where the movement had occurred. Ashrah had retreated from Chaosrealm, not neutralizing the last seed entirely. Because of this, Daeva retains the look of an Oni. However, her magical nature makes her able to give herself a more "human form", or rather, a "Seidan form." (It works in a similar manner to Syzoth, though not necessarily similar in-nature) Her "Seidan form" makes her look like the biological child of Havik and Darrius, mimicking their features. She has similar eyes to Havik, and a similar mouth & nose to Darrius (since she never saw Havik's mouth & nose) 💚3. SYLOI - Havik & Darrius' 3rd child. He is a Seidan, born from Chaosrealmers. Very tall and wide, Syloi has the potential to be somewhat of a juggernaut, but he prefers to handle explosives. He is a scrapper, much like Darrius, and he loves making his own bombs. As a baby, Syloi was left out in the open for someone to take him. Chaosrealm, unlike Orderrealm, has no rules in regards to procreation, which leads to more reproductive freedom, but also leads to many unchecked pregnancies. And so, Syloi was taken in by Havik & Darrius. Syloi is arguably the "most chaotic" of all of Havik & Darrius' children. He constantly wears a "deliriously delighted" expression on his face, amplified by the worn-down skin on the corners of his mouth. He has an amusing little laugh that's unmistakable from his siblings. He also has a deep love for destruction- Most of the time, his passion is encouraged, but when it isn't, his siblings are usually quick to stop him! Syloi has been scratching at the corners of his mouth since he was very little. Since then, he has worn the skin off of his cheeks. This, and other forms of "self-mutilation" has become a hallmark amongst Chaosrealmers.

💜4. ERIYEN - Havik & Darrius' 4th child. She is a Seidan, born from Chaosrealmers, like her 2nd older brother. Eriyen likes to find ways to infuse magic with different items. She is very interested in alchemy. Eriyen, like Syloi, was born from an unplanned pregnancy. She was handed to Havik & Darrius by her older sibling. They took her in and raised her with the rest of their children. Eriyen has proven to be incredibly smart! She has excellent learning skills and has quickly moved on from learning about science, to learning about alchemy, and the ability to infuse inanimate objects with magic! The first success in her endeavors, is her "magic-eye," of which she had replaced with her left eye. Eriyen is noticeably quite fashionable, wearing many accessories. Her parents consider it to be a trait "left over from Orderrealm." There was nothing wrong with Eriyen's left eye, she just replaced it with a "better" one. 💛5. UNDERTOW - Havik & Darrius' 5th child. Another Seidan. Undertow has one natural arm and 2 bionic ones on the side where the other arm would be. It is assumed their missing limb is actually a birth defect and not from an accident. Undertow is also a hydromancer in-training. Undertow is (so far) the youngest child. Unlike Syloi & Eriyen, they were found by Havik & Darrius as a small child, rather than as an infant. They were a feral child, running around in one of Chaosrealm's residential areas. The interesting thing about Undertow is, their missing arm is actually from a birth defect- something that would cause the child to be euthanized under the former "Orderrealm." Instead, their new parents saw this as an opportunity to give the child a powerful prosthetic limb- or rather, 2 limbs! Thanks to their new bionics, Undertow has 3 arms! They sometimes come into conflict with their aggressive older brother, Syloi, which makes them closer to Eriyen. They are rather shy and talk very little. They are also said to have a "spiteful streak" but not much is known about that yet. Undertow's 2nd & 3rd arm slide close together & far apart on a bar that is fixed to the side of their upper torso. Each arm has 1 finger-like tip. They look like insect legs. When joined together, they use the 2 fingers like a normal hand/fingers.

1. If you had to change the pairing’s very first meeting, how would you change it?

To be frank with you, I don’t recall their first meeting thread at all, but I think it was amicable and polite to say at the least? Which is more than expected when I think of MK11 Hanzo’s more mellowed, subdued and much more approachable to Jack, who is always courteous and polite. If I didn’t love Hanzo’s redemptive arc in MK11 so much, it would’ve been neat if they met when Hanzo is still Scorpion, with Quan Chi’s darkest sorcery still binding to the demons of his vice and Jack attempting to breach through and instill some senses in hellspawn spectre, even if it takes an ass-beating to do it (just as Grandmaster Hasashi did to Scorpion in MK11).

2. What song fits your pairing the most?

I think this song is their inevitable, unparalleled connection, the fact that they love each other so much so that they feel intrinsic gravitation no matter what verse they are in. And there just are too many reference to sex and orgasm, so my heathen ass had to choose it.

3. What is your favorite AU/prompt idea/trope for your pairing?

Driven by Suicide; Whatever the reason, (a guilty conscience, the world is simply too much to bear, self-hatred, whether reasonable or unreasonable, or simply having seen some really weird shit,) a character may be driven to commit suicide. This may be as little as pondering their existence or as much as holding a gun to one's head. Most times, the character will have second thoughts, or will be talked down by a friend, but in shows where Anyone Can Die, the character may go through with it. In any case, this is a powerful way to underscore the desperation of the character.

In a backstory, being Driven To Suicide can illuminate both of their dark and tragic past. On desperate occasions, this can be a happy ending, but only if a majority of the viewers agree, and this is very rare. In some cases, the reason for suicide may not be depression, but honor, as it is obviously more common in Japanese works (aka hara-kiri). This trope was prominently displayed in where Hanzo is an Immortal Scorpion (my verse iv) and where he is a half-demon (Hanyo). It also goes along with the ending of 47 Ronin, where they commit honorable hara-kiri after the order and justice had been served with their daimyo.

4. Do you prefer canon ideas or do you have your own headcanons for them?

Not applicable, for Hanryou is a crossover ship, so we have our own headcanons built around their relationship, no matter what verses. But I’d like to think that it would be neat if I can have Hanzo somehow end up in Jack’s world (just like Scorpion ends up in the world of DC in Injustice games and meets Superman, Batman, etc. as he confuses Sub-Zero for Batman lol) and meet Samurai Jack in that way. I’d have to do much more research, as I am not as familiar with Samurai Jack lore as you probably are with Mortal Kombat, but that can certainly happen in the near future!

7. Favorite headcanon trope/idea? (Your own or someone else’s)

This one I wrote a while ago regarding half-demon verse (x) and your HCs regarding Hanzo’s death in various verses, as I am one hell of an angsty masochist who cannot be helped (x).

8. Least favorite headcanon trope/idea?

How about none? I treasure all of our headcanons, because clearly we put so much time and effort coming up with them and we are also dedicated and utterly invested. Dare I say, the most passionate and dedicated I’ve ever been with canon x canon crossover ships ever since I started to RP since 2015.

9. Favorite aspect of them/their relationship dynamics?

They seem to have this soulmate vibe where I always feel Jack/Ryou would look into Hanzo/Scorpion’s eyes and not only see darkness that everybody else sees, but Jack as as selfless, empathetic and sympathetic, certainly much more than most others do, and see beyond the steeled and intimidating shell. I definitely think Jack/Ryou saw that Hanzo carried a storm within his bones, one that contained both chaos and calmness. Look too closely and he could catch the lightning peering through his veins. Closer than that, and he could see every suffering, strife, and struggle Hanzo had ever faced pinned together in cracked armor… For Hanzo Hasashi managed to carry the weight of it all, though. He was a paradox, and each other’s soul felt pulled toward one another because Hanzo too, understand through the sentiments and his own experiences of being so much more than mere human.

10. Least favorite aspect of them/their relationship dynamics? (Can be headcanon)

Less of their dynamics/headcanons and more of Hanzo’s canonical tendencies stemming from MKX comics and a bit in MKX story mode (although in his tower ending, it was non-canonical), but his high penchant for suicide ideation due to chronic and severe depression. He did want to atone for his sins, because he was more or less complicit for Shinnok’s resurrection (the fallen Elder God whom Quan Chi was attempting to resurrect. Quan Chi is the pasty motherfucker who not only killed Hanzo’s family, but the Shirai Ryu in its entirety. AKA he is Hanzo’s architect of suffering). I think his tragic past and gravitas of his mannerisms make who Hanzo Hasashi is and also makes him exceptionally complex and dualistic in regards to his past (Hanzo Hasashi vs. Scorpion, with dramatic differences in their morality and view towards the world).

11. If they aren’t a canon pairing, how would you get them together?

For now, I think the modern setting (either on this blog or over at @acquitatis) or finding the middle ground with our main (canonical), immortal Scorpion, and half-demon verses is working more than well enough. Even when we both have their respective settings, I’d like to think because they both are Japanese, and most definitely are traditionalists and extremely proper and polite when they are amicably spoken to. Or even combining our preexisting verses and creating a reincarnation AU for both, as they would be reborn in an entirely different setting, comes across one another somehow (a simple gravitation or through other means, personal or professional) and build their relationship that way.

12. If you had to take them and plunk them into another fandom, what fandom would that be? Why?

Any kind of historical games or movies (preferably Japanese or anything Asian) would work best for him. I would really like them to travel to other Asian countries, mainly South Korea (because that’s where I hail from and I am exceptionally familiar with its history and differences between China, Korea and Japan) and obviously China, because I also write as Kuai Liang. I used to write with a muse from Netflix’s Kingdom (which is a historical/zombie-like apocalyptic drama that’s really popular, and if you want to see traditional Korean stuff with exceptional cinematography and acting, and if you love anything gory and zombie, contagion-like movies, I highly recommend it). I love any historical dramas and movies such as The Last Samurai and 47 Ronin, and even that setting could work for both of them.

13. How hard is it write/draw your pairing? Scale of 1-10.

8/10. I will have to admit, it does require a special set of mind because of the nature of their ship being crossover, I have to take some extra time visualizing what their interactions will unfold, but then not too difficult also in that I am by now intimately familiar with how your Jack/Ryou come off in your characterization and I think our writing meshes pretty well together as well.

14. Is there a pairing that you think rivals them?

I sincerely don’t think there is any unparalleled crossover ships, because they’re harder to stick to compared to canon counterparts and even non-canon ships within the same fandom, since not a lot of people are familiar with Mortal Kombat and its less than perfect and perplexing and confusing lore.

15. Which character of the pairing do you like more? (Would you ever pair yourself with them?)

I obviously love Hanzo more, or else I’d have Samurai Jack as my muse XD so I’d have to be subjectively biased on that regard. As much as I love Hanzo Hasashi with all of my heart, I don’t think I can handle too much stress and worry that comes with being involved with him in any way, because I am a worrywort and highly sensitive person myself and my heart would just fucking shatter seeing him suffer with amalgam of undiagnosed mental struggles (mainly PTSD and depression) and I would never know how to comfort him properly when he starts to have nightmares and night terrors. In that regard, and how patient, intelligent, sagacious and genial Jack is, and knowing that he would never die, maybe he’s a better partner than Hanzo is? Idk.

16. Which character of your pairing would be the one to break up with the other? Why?

Neither, they both are one of those people who take romantic/sexual relationships seriously, and such trust and devotion is sacred and unbreakable to them. Without them, there would be no way they will ever get into a relationship of any kind.

17. Are they relatable as characters or as a pairing?

To be frank, I think they both have relatable qualities as they struggle a lot with real mental issues like depression, self-doubts and insecurity, always internalizing and ruminating to do better, to serve better for people who they love and needs to be protected.

18. Did you once/ever dislike one/both of them?

Nah, Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion is my all-time favorite Mortal Kombat character, hands down and I used to watch Samurai Jack to learn English when I was in middle and high school (which was A WHILE AGO). I don’t remember too much of particular episodes, but I always did admire Jack’s complexity, how he’s able to find humor and scintillating light in the end of the obsidian, seemingly impervious tunnel (one of my favorite episodes being Jack hiding all the fake swords to get back at Aku and Jack fighting Shinobi - Warrior of the Night - because that was so artfully and exceptionally done), thus always retaining his optimism, despite the grim circumstances which he so often faces.

19. On an estimate, how many posts have you made about them?

Haven’t really counted, but I’d like to think that I either reply to our threads or answer any headcanon or meme replies at least 4-5 times a week? I’d like to believe that’s a lot, and I could probably do some more, but knowing that we’ll continue to keep coming up with refreshing and spectacular ideas for our boys to endlessly suffer.... so yeah. I’d like to up the game and think about them more, because I absolutely adore them as ship.

20. What made you decide to ship them?

As I always do, romantic/sexual shipping wasn’t in my intention when I approached for your Samurai Jack. Since he is one of the characters I hugely adore and even before I familiarized with your remarkable portrayal of him, I knew Hanzo and Jack would mesh well, specifically with MK11 Hanzo, in that they both are such exceptional warriors with heart of gold, and have triumphed and endured so much trials and tribulations, and keeps going because they are exceptionally protective of their people.

21. Favorite genre for them? (Angst, fluff, etc.)

ANGST ANGST get me on the angst train! Hanzo and Jack/Ryou just seem to SCREAM angst because of their respective struggle and trials with existentialism, and despite their clear differences, they are two good-hearted individuals who seemingly have inherited a cruel world as their worlds had been ripped from them, as they were used to the life of peaceful and painless nothingness without tribulations. I also have a huge soft heart for anything wholesome, just them taking an easy day and relax in each other’s arms, just talking, doing nothing substantial except enjoying what life could offer without any stress. They could simply take a walk around the neighborhood or even Hanzo’s Fire Gardens, have a picnic, or train together and take naps together.

Hi! I don't normally ask anyone of this, & I hope I don't sound annoying by asking, but do you think you can give me some advice / tips on how to improve my content? It's mostly tumblr that I have trouble posting + finding mutuals on. I've been stressing out about this a lot bc I never have any creative ideas on what to post mostly bc I'm in a bunch of fandoms ( ex : dc, kinda marvel, she-ra, stranger things, it, mortal kombat, some anime, etc) - ( 1/2 )

I had thoughts on writing again in the future bc I do want to start making fics someday I just don't think I'm good at writing & writers block is always there lol. I'm always afraid I'll portray canon characters ( predominantly those w/ complex personalities) horribly ooc or something. ( 2/2 )

Okay, firstly, if you’re writing comic book characters... for a lot of them, at this point, nothing is really ooc. There have been a billion and one different versions of them in canon & really, writing any comic book character is like build-a-bear. Just pick the parts you like & if anyone says anything, they’ll be wrong on some level, you’ll be right on some level, comics are a mess & that’s why I like writing fics for them.

Also!!!!! Creative ideas. don’t exactly exist. Everything’s already been done. But it hasn’t been done by you & that’s what makes your take on an idea fun. You can write anything from a coffee shop AU to, IDK, DC AU where everything is the exact same but Lex Luthor is a pickle, it doesn’t matter. Whenever somebody writes something, they always bring something new to the table, a lot of the time without even realizing it.

As for writer’s block, you just kinda. Have to figure out your own way of dealing with it. Like it’s gonna be different for everybody & what works me might not work for you & vice versa. Everybody’s brain is a lil different & the way it works won’t always be the same as it does for x/y/z.

And finally, I do not accept slander of your writing in this house. Only compliments allowed, you talented angel.

That’s right, another awesome movie, Time Bandits this time, is going to get a reboot into a TV series. Hopefully it will be great and actually follow the story of the movie. We would say we are not holding our breath, but we would never consider it anyway, after all the examples of this sort of thing going wrong we just hope it doesn’t drag us all into the sucking void of despair. Then for those who like Fallout, who also like RPGs (not the rocket propelled grenade kind for the NSA and CIA who are listening and spying) we have news for you. Fallout is now a pen and paper role playing game, that’s right, and we warn, if you had no one to play fallout 76 with you will still be singing that song ‘Lonely’ again. Further there are miniatures available for table top games similar to Warhammer. Which let’s face it is really cool. We just haven’t figured out the loot boxes that Bethesda has got to be trying to squeeze into the game. Now we suggest everyone run for cover as Buck is back and on the Rant path with news that work is happening to insert AI memory processors to improve music ability. Now we understand this has to be a good thing right? Well, the thing he hates is the imbecilic nature of mumble rappers and the moronic fashion styles they represent. Trust me he really takes issue with that kind of thing. After we get him to calm down we look at the games played this week, followed by the famous events, birthdays, remembrances, and shout outs. The biggest shout out was a moments pause to remember the late great Stephen Hawking who left us last year.
