sometimes being an actor - especially one who is still technically in training and hasn’t made their debut yet - is hard and there are some nights where i loose sleep because i’m worried that i’ve made the wrong choice and my dream might never come true. but i keep going and work hard to make sure it becomes a reality.

if external motivation wasn't enough to break the executive dysfunction by itself there's another block that's taking precedence over the "well there aren't any immediate consequences here" block

are you overwhelmed? let's figure out where to start

are you hungry/thirsty/tired/in pain/unhygeinic? if you haven't eaten, drank, taken any medication you need, and washed yourself / changed your clothes one of those physical needs isn't being met and it's taking precedence. go fix that first

are you stressed about something else? your brain could be focussing on that which isn't allowing you to perform basic maintenence tasks. you're likely feeling a loss of control over it and spiralling. make a plan to do something - anything - towards resolving the problem and write it down. pin the bastard down by the tail. you're still gonna be stressed about like. maybe failing out of uni or whatever but it's gonna be a lot easier to do the dishes if you have a concrete plan to email your tutor in the morning about it. if you know what you're going to do about it later your brain isn't running around trying to figure out how to fix it now.

which is a whole lot easier to figure out with the aid of someone else who isn't bluescreening at the time.

the people you ask for help can't do that if you lie to them. funnily enough. you asked for help - do you want help, or were you just paying lipservice to the idea?

#normally it's the external motivation block bc if you have adhd that shit is just Tuesday #people be like 'you're a houseplant with emotions' but actually #your brain is a supercomputer. run the diagnostics.

Making of Monday

More of a fun fact than a making of, but I struggle a lot to not edit as I go, which slow me down so much, and a while ago I read a writing tip that said that setting the font to something you can't read helps with that (since you can't read it you can't edit and you keep writing). I finally tried it and honestly it's working pretty well so far I think?
