“8. What's an old project idea that you've lost interest in”

thanks so much for the question !! around a year or so ago i started working on concepts for an animatic based on the song “santa fe” from newsies. i got as far as a storyboard, lighting and set concepts and a camera test. i’m not currently working on finishing it, but i’d love to get back on it sometime in the future :)

i really loved coming up with and working on the color palette especially, i feel like it’s very dynamic

this was even harder than vaggiebomb holy cow

charpentious is probably my favourite charlie ship (theres like... negative art of it so i have to placate myself with the oodles of delicious charlastor drawings available). pentious and charlie are on the exactly same wavelength of golden retriever dumbass that they feed off of each other in this wonderful pocket ecosystem of support and positivity. they would undoubtedly make everyone else around them absolutely sick to their very gums and thats honestly half the fun.

the thing that was tripping me up about these two and finding songs was trying to find something that wasnt super generic - its all well and good to use any happy love song, but those can be applied to any number of situations. i wanted to try and be a little more niche. i dont know how successful i was.

all my life has been a series of doors in my face, and then suddenly i bump into you (i was thinking the same thing! cause like - ive been searching my whole life to find my own place, and maybe its the party talking, or the chocolate fondue)

one of the things i really wanted to highlight about the potential for these two is how EASY i think their relationship would be. after years of being met with adversity and ridicule, heres someone who doesnt think youre stupid or that your dreams are too big or that your inventions are too gaudy and complicated - they think its WONDERFUL. they think YOURE wonderful, in all of your goofiness, because within that lies sincerity.

i dont normally copy down that many lyrics, but they fit so well that i had to include all of them!

one of my favourite things about charlie ships is that (ideally) she wins over the other party simply by being kind and almost aggressively genuine. while i have my own opinions on how characters work and what they are within the universe, this song becomes heartbreaking if you put it in the context of show canon and have it be the last duet they have before heaven comes to attack - pentious calls her an angel, and they say that even though he/they might die tomorrow (which, as we all know, is what happens), it doesnt change the fact that charlie forgave pentious and allowed him the oppurtunity of redemption, and pentious in turn actually put in effort and became the hotels proof of concept.

👻 a headcanon about what scares them

a whole lot of things, as much as he absolutely hates to admit it. he hates it. hot irons and stovetops, glass cups, loud noises, men shouting, bodies of water, his uncle, his pa, his ma, mr. snyder, the whole refuge building - even just passing it on the street. being trapped in rooms, especially when he’s cornered by somebody else (other than oscar) between him and the door. thunderstorms and rain. being abandoned, being alone. being touched.

his fears are almost all caused by trauma or associations, and his response varies wildly depending on the situation, but it’s usually freeze then fight. he knows full well that flight only ever means getting caught later, which just delays the inevitable and makes everything worse. he’d sooner lash out like a cornered, beaten dog.

💔 an angsty headcanon

i’ll go with the fact that he sincerely believes he deserved everything that happened to him, every word his abusers fed him. he’s lesser, worthless, stupid, unwanted, only good for following orders. every hit and beating he took, he earned by his own missteps or failures or just by being what he is. it’s why he’s so complacent with following wiesel’s orders now, and just follows oscar’s lead - he’s not worth anything else. he doesn’t really think he’s a person.

🥇 a headcanon about what they’re best at

he’s very good at organising and tidying, and he loves it - he once got assigned by wiesel to organise all the books in the office, with oscar’s help to read the numbers or titles, and it was the first time wiesel saw him being sharp and efficient. he’s fantastic at maintenance on the printing presses, he can take them apart and put them back together with ease. he’s very good at fighting - he’s single-minded in a fight; he’s fast and strong and just the right edge of ruthless, knows exactly where to strike to injure or incapacitate or scare, and he’s flighty so he’s hard to hit back. he’s good at listening, it’s almost all he does.

he’d be good at art and painting - larger scale stuff, not fine details, and in a distinct style far from realism - if he ever got to try.

🎭 a headcanon about what they lie about

he’s of two minds with lying. generally - he’ll lie about anything that scares him. and anything that might upset someone, because it’s his instinct to walk on eggshells with men like his pa and his uncle and snyder, since upsetting any of his abusers meant/means danger.

if he’s hurt, he’ll try and lie about it to oscar to try and keep his brother from having to worry. if he’s sick, he’ll lie about it to anyone. he used to lie frequently to oscar, particularly when being threatened to secrecy after pa or snyder beat him or anything of the like, but oscar caught on quick and made him swear to stop. morris isn’t allowed to lie to oscar anymore - he has to tell him everything.

(and if you like that concept you should totally read my fic ‘under wraps’, so long as you’re okay with the subject matter mentioned in the tags)

morris also isn’t very good at lying. he tends to get overwhelmed when there’s attention on him in general, but especially when he’s being asked questions, so it’s more often that he’ll shut down rather than lying. particularly if it’s any of the newsies asking questions. shut down and then lash out with violence, just punch someone directly in the nose if they’re asking something he doesn’t want to answer, but if it’s someone he can’t do that with - pa, uncle, snyder - he’ll just spill the truth immediately. lying, at best, only delays the inevitable, and it’ll get him in more trouble. that concept scares him more than his ability to lie can cover.

❤️‍🔥 a romantic headcanon

he’s mlm, and gets crushes frequently once he hits about sixteen. he likes gentle guys, and guys with big pretty smiles who smile and laugh easily - he thinks dimples are prettiest, and guys who screw their noses up to make room for their grins. he likes guys he doesn’t think would hurt him. he fantasies about a boy with gentle hands holding morris’ and gently tracing the bruises on his split and scarred knuckles. he imagines being held and read to. being safe, protected.

he has his first kiss before anyone holds his hand. the boy who kisses him is too rough, just taking as much as he can before he rushes off with this dizzy mixture of shame and glee on his face. morris doesn’t feel much but empty, and wonders if maybe he’s like oscar - can’t love like that, doesn’t want to. but then a boy finally reaches out and gently - so gently, like he’s a little bit afraid of hurting morris - tangles his fingers with morris’ while they’re sat in some isolated spot together, and morris feels so much he starts flapping his hands. the boy keeps his hold, their joined hands flapping between them, and he grins so wide at morris his whole face screws up.

😶 a random headcanon

morris can’t swim.

(i may or may not have a wip covering that, as well as why morris is also afraid of larger bodies of water.)

9. best month for you this year?

june! i did the most writing i've ever done, saw newsies with my friend ceriann, met ryan kopel for the first time, started to genuinely engage with fandom after years, made a bunch of great friends, got a massive boost in my confidence - spectacular, really.

12. talk about a new friend you made this year

DAVEY!! my dear friend davey you are so skilled and so hardworking and so genuinely kind that it actually surprises me. i have been the most obnoxious nihilist for,,, years and it's quite rejuvenating for the soul i think to be surrounded by kind and genuine people, and you're a big part of that. i'm so grateful for your constant support and i'm so happy i got to support you in return by delivering your art to the newsies cast at musical con and get you that video of them, too :) and i still can't get over the manhattan wv drawing you did!! was not expecting it at all but oh my god it's wonderful. you're such a creative and hardworking person davey, it keeps on inspiring me. i hope good things keep happening to you - i'm so grateful for all your support and to have you as a friend :)

14. favorite book you read this year?

WRANGLESTONE!! yeah i read a lot of more Classic and Scholarly books for my classes but wranglestone was my 'treat myself' book - i got it when i went to see billie the kid because i wound up walking past 'gay's the word' by pure accident so i decided to make a big queer day of it and treated myself to a fun little gay zombie cowboy novel. and god i love it. i'm not a Classic and Scholarly writer and i've always been a little ashamed of that but this book reminded me i don't need to be :) there are people who want and need the kind of stories i want to tell, and i'm one of them. this book's so special to me for that. and yknow, it helps that it's a genuinely good adventure with a cute romance, a compelling mystery and excellent worldbuilding.

25. did you create any characters (in games, art, or writing) this year? describe one

i think the only characters i created this year were alice, maggie and florence for run boy run... i HAVE been noodling an oc for a children's book series concept i have though! haven't decided on a name or design but i know i want him to be a cowboy who rides a utahraptor and has a little hunting crew of smaller velociraptors he's rescued (i actually had this idea before reading wranglestone btw. cowboy media just calls to me)

What is this blog?

Well my friend, this blog is simply a place for me to dump all sorts of art and writing that predominantly include soft, safe, nonsexual vore. That means fanart of all kinds, the occasional fic, and sometimes some rambles and OC content. Here you will find g/t vore, same/similar size vore, and occasionally goopy digestion with reformation when the mood strikes me

No problem! I have a separate blog @cloverhatsandflowercrowns where I post loads more art that has nothing to do with vore and never will. There you’ll find g/t fluff and fanart of the more normal variety. And yes, it’s still all 100% sfw :)

• Do you roleplay? Sometimes, but I prefer not to unless I know you well

• Do you take requests? Yes! So long as the request isn’t nsfw in nature and you understand that I am not obligated to complete your request then go ahead and send them in! I only ask that you are polite about it and don’t get mad if I refuse

• Why do you like vore? Honestly? I just think it’s neat and a fascinating concept for storytelling that really brings out some cool character dynamics. Plus it’s cute and a pretty big comfort thing for me, especially with certain characters

• Do you have any other blogs? Yes actually! Aside from this blog and the one mentioned above I have a third called @snekanswers. That blog is a newsies centric ask blog revolving around a naga au my friend and I came up with. It does have vore on it, but vore isn’t the central plot point and it’s still all sfw

• What the heck is a viola? It’s a bit like a violin, only bigger! The strings are also not the same as a violin, and it can play a lot lower with the tradeoff being the inability to play as high. Also violists get better jobs cause there aren’t as many of us ha

Been a while since I’ve updated on my Cuphead OCs (been in a bit of an art block that I’m honestly kinda still in..) but I wanted to get this gal posted before the DLC got released.

This is my last (and probably favorite) OC, Newsie!

Newsie is a seemingly innocent an aloof paper girl, simply going door to door without thought, however, she has an ulterior motive.

As one of the Devil’s minions, Newsie’s paper business comes with a catch. When she asks the citizens of the Isles to sign forms for subscriptions to her paper, they unknowingly sign one of the Devil’s contracts, handing over their souls.

Newsie hates this line of work, however she owes her own life to the Devil, whom has taken her somewhat under his wing.

She came under the Devil’s possession after their mother (who owed her soul to the Devil), offered her daughter in her place. Newsie then became the Devil’s semi-adopted child, being altered to become a demon.

She eventually forms a friendship with Cuphead & Mugman, the Devil finding opportunities to use this new found bond to his advantage to get Cuphead’s soul.

I’m a sucker for hurt comfort and angst but I love reading about found families too and I wish there were more stories of tinies/giant sizeshifters or shapeshifts hiding that they can shift because they’re afraid of rejection or being abused that when potential family figure finds out, (or hurts them when they do know) they bolt. Then lots and lots of healing and love.

favorite headcannon you've come up with (canon!dsmp, ff!dsmp, etc.) Ok so after season 1 ended, I came up with this thing that the S1 selves still exist, but are like trapped in the C! subconsciousness and that in Season 2, S1 self and S2 self will end up talking. And I have this thing where Tommy and Dream become friends but Tommy starts pulling pranks and shenanigans like he used too in S1 and Dream is just brushing them off even though he’s slightly bothered. To the point where weird shit starts happening on the server but no one can trace the source, while S2 Dream just keeps blacking out with headaches. Because S1 Dream is taking over his body and getting Revenge on Tommy for causing him the same pain. And at some point S1 and S2 Dream speak and it goes something like this: no tommy didn't destroy my build to hurt me. it was innocent fun! A prank!! s1 dream: No Dream. He did it to hurt others, hurt your real friends,  to hurt us, hurt you. Or maybe a different route where S2 Dream is heading down that same road that S1 Dream did, and S1 Dream comes to S2 Dream with warning and basically its a self healing moment. And like this applies to Tommy too in different ways and I just think it would be cool if the S1 and S2 selves met each other.

being alive propaganda: it makes me sob. newsies is a great musical and i’m so glad you guys like it and i like it lots as well! but even though it’s a great musical it’s nowhere near the level of company. there are so many great moments to come out of newsies but company completely revolutionized theater

being alive as a stand-alone song is also just gorgeous. each reiteration of “being alive” adds a new meaning. after each verses, each interjection, more is unraveled until at the end it evolves from a song about longing to a song of hope and just overall joy at the pure concept of Being Alive. you all want to talk so much about how great life is and how humanity is cool and yearning and stuff on this platform and maybe if you gave this song a true and honest and unbiased listen you’d realize it’s communicating all of that and more.

it’s truly a work of art and one of the only songs that can make me cry.
