OKAY so you need to first off know I too am triggered by some of you. I wanna say a little something and then give some encouragement if you choose to hear me out great and if not, it’s ok no worries. ♥️♥️

First off, I refuse to apologize anymore for anyone who attacks me or comes at me with intimidation and bullying. I post a lot about my exes how they treated me and affected me. There were times I apologized for them and their behavior but not anymore. If I don’t stand up for myself, no one else will!

Secondly, I’ve used the term “narcissist” in most of my post because that’s the only explanation I could find AND if any of my exes were to see my account, I would say to them I pray them well and if I’ve misjudged them please show me I’m wrong and I want to make it right with you and give you forgiveness. I don’t hate my exes or anyone with personality disorders. Infact, I’ve had lots of mental issues in my own lifetime and I’ve been a person I hate. I’m trying to grow from it and change it!

I pray all of you well and I truly don’t wish to label any of you! I’ve been labeled as a child. I was told I had a learning disability 😓 I know it’s painful and is a struggle to grow from! It is possible to grow but it will be a lifetime coming. No one grows perfectly over night 👍🏻

Okay I also wanna say anyone can change and heal from whatever it is they’re facing and I’m trying and I hope you are too!! I would hope my exes are different men then when I dated them and I want to be in a place someday soon where I stop telling my story and can move on! One day at a time!!

I’m going to share my story as long as I need to so to help me be a better person and I’m hoping it helps someone somewhere somehow ❤️‍🩹

Stop telling your sons "you're a nice guy, any girl would be lucky to be your girlfriend" or "if she doesn't like you it's her loss".

Literally no one is so awesome that everyone would want to date them. Rejection happens to everyone. If someone rejects him, that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with her and that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with him. Putting her down in order to make him feel better about being rejected would only cause him to think women are wronging him by rejecting him. When it comes to choosing who to flirt with, everyone is allowed to be as shallow as they want, and there is nothing wrong with that. There'd only be something wrong with her if she went beyond just rejecting him (for example, if she said "why would I date someone as ugly as you" instead of just "I'm not interested").

Also, everyone has bad habits. He could easily be inadvertently doing things that are not nice. If you tell him that he's nice unconditionally, then he won't consider the possibility that he's doing something wrong.

Every time I look at the haters of this trope..... This is the kind of person I think of:

I seriously think a lot of ETL haters feel like the "WOMEN ONLY WANT DOUCHEBAGS! THEY NEVER WANT A NICE GUY™!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!" kinda dudes to a degree. You know, nice guy syndrome. The way they talk about the trope reeks of that energy.

BTW: People who are fond of enemies to lovers like the fact that the trope usually involves one or both parties growing out of their shit behavior and becoming people that can be considered "good." There is a difference between "nice™" and "good." ETL character arcs involve one or both characters becoming the latter, ETL haters have a habit of endorsing the former.

So it occurs to me that I posted most of their lore on my OC blog (though a few posts on here have the story info) and honestly I think it's very important to note that the entire reason a guy from Florida is recruited to help defeat the demon lord isn't him as the hero. His younger brother (by about ten years younger) is the Chosen Hero and... not very good at it. So the goddess (Solei) who had selected the hero has to begrudgingly go back to earth and convince his older brother to help save her world.

(Also Reynold admits to Solei that "Sascha could never be a bad influence. He's the best impulse control I've ever had" and she really doesn't like to hear it. That's terrifying.)

every day was torture.

“deep breath in.” his low, dark voice sent tingles down your spine. you used to fight against him, but you couldn’t tell day or night anymore. you didn’t have the fire in you anymore. “come on, sweetheart. open your eyes for me.” you sluggishly open your eyes and see his piercing gaze full of unsettling curiosity. “good, good.” he uses his fingers to pry your eyelids open and shine a light in. it vaguely reminds you of going to the doctors. you hear the click of a recorder before he starts to speak. “three. eighteen. eight. twenty-six. subject has red eyes and dilated pupils. the fear gas is working as intended every night, but with more exposure, more resistance is building. a stronger strain needs to be created for the plan to work.” he puts the light away and releases your eyelids. you watch as he walks out of your sight.

you call out, weakly, “help…” hoping someone will hear your weak cries, but just like yesterday and the day before, no one comes to your aid. you let your eyes close before taking a deep breath. you use up all of the energy you have left in you to scream, “HELP M-” a hand slaps painfully against your mouth, effectively shutting you up.

“now now, darling…” he presses his mouth into a thin line. “this kind of behavior is not… tolerated here. not after all the work it took to find us a quiet place to work.” you can hardly see through your tears. his hand leaves your mouth to your waist, rubbing comforting circles into your skin. you let him touch, desperate for a kind touch. you lean into his touch, letting your forehead fall onto his shoulder. you hear a dark chuckle and mumbling, “interesting. so… needy.” he smirks, hand moving to your waist to your hair.

“doctor…” you whimper as he pets your hair.

“yes, darling?” he whispers into your ear.

“please let me go home…” you whisper. his hand stops moving. it drifts from your hair to your neck, slowly tightening.

“what did you say?” you hear irritation in his voice.

“please dr. crane-” you couldn’t get the words out as he tightens the hand around your throat. you choke, hands flying to free your neck. you kick, but he climbs on top of you, holding your legs down.

“how many times do i have to tell you that this behavior is not tolerated here?” you hear something hiss and spot a tank. you could feel yourself start to lose consciousness when he lifts the mask to your face. “breathe.”

I don’t know what prompted this random ask but I don’t think you know what the nice guy syndrome entails. A lot of the “nice guy” energy characters only act nice and accommodating to expect something in return. Most men think if they keep being the “nice guy” (as oppose to the “bad guy” the women are attracted to) they deserve or are entitled of a certain woman. Their niceness comes with expectations. That’s the point. As soon as their niceness isn’t getting them anywhere they turn manipulative because it isn’t about being a genuine good person. Ben was anything but the “nice guy syndrome”. His lack of confident and need for attention manifested in him just appearing extremely overconfident and then acting as if he was better than the rest. His dynamic with Devi has never been about him being nice to her but the opposite. Ben is extremely grass, honest and unlikable — and the times he helped Devi didn’t come from him expecting to date her. He didn’t drive her to Malibu thinking he’d win her over. It came because he is genuinely nice but doesn’t know how to act that way — which is why Devi ended up liking him. He often matched her energy and she liked he didn’t try to sugarcoat things to her but was very honest, pragmatic.

Also, you all need to stop mocking Ben’ last name, is a commonly Jewish last name but also it is incredible lame, boring and disrespectful. Like, find a better punchline I beg you.
