ellie doesn't like not being around you at social events, or with you out of her sight. it stresses her out so much that she can't even properly enjoy herself without you close to her. can barely pay attention if someone's speaking to her because shes busy trying to watch you in the crowd.

convinces herself that everyone wants you. you often have to assure her that your friends and other people you interact with casually aren't secretly pinning over you or waiting on the opportunity to make a move. she never believes you, always stuck on the idea that you're too good to not have a billion more options.

ALWAYS thinks someone is flirting with you, and get pouty about it. when she's feeling bold enough she'll say something direct.

"i mean you didn't see the way she was looking at you from my perspective, you guys were basically at 3rd base."

ellie knows that you're only her friend, that you don't owe her loyalty, but anytime you bring up time you've spent with someone else she goes all quiet and short with you, not because she's mad at you, but because she gets an unexplainable feeling in her stomach like she's gonna drop dead when she thinks of you enjoying the company of anyone else but her.

cannot go an hour without bringing you up to other people (barely exaggerating.) her mind wanders to you so often she hardly even notices it. at the sight of a trinket you'd like, or a color she knows you love. whenever she hears someone say something that reminds her of you, she's quick to to point that out. you stay on her mind always.

can't handle being away from you too long, she gets antsy and starts asking around about your whereabouts. especially when she's missing you, all hell breaks loose. when she finds out that you were only getting lunch or something simple like that she feels embarrassed at how desperate she was to find you. (she'll definitely do it again tmr.)

likes to see you sitting in her room, around all her stuff doing whatever. painting your nails, reading, listening to music ect. just getting to see you in her personal space makes her happy. knowing that you're safe and with her.

will start an argument if she doesn't know where you've been. arguing with ellie is always slightly maddening because shes so nonchalant when she's being ridiculous that it makes you question yourself.

she's so sweet and nervous when she apologizes though, going over what shes going to say over and over in her room and still messing up.

"i'm just—fuck this is stupid—i shouldn't have said what i said to you. . . about the thing earlier?" she'll look away like a scolded puppy waiting on you to say something. "i'm sorry."

if you accept her apology, you can visibly see the fear leave her body. the worst thing that could happen to her is losing you and anytime she thinks that might happen her whole world gets turned upside down until she knows you're okay with her.

she doesn't see you as her property, just something really special that she wants to keep safe and close.

likes to keep a hand on you when you're walking with her. on your waist, a hand around your wrist or tugging at your clothes when she needs you to follow. she doesn't care if people notice, she'd prefer them to see actually.

writes the little things she notices about you down like she's studying you or something. the way you look at her when you're listening intently, how you act when you're sleepy. things she knows no one else would take note of. she jots down her thoughts about you when they're overwhelming because it helps, talking about it isn't an option she doesn't want to share you with anyone.

"she's so pretty when she's doing her hair, like a fucking angel on earth. she's driving me INSANE. i feel like i'm going to mess this up somehow."

gets jealous when you're babying dogs in front of her and will admit it !

"you never pay that much attention to me." when you totally do.

huge complainer, she's so bold about it too ! if you're spending any extra time with someone she'll get all dramatic about it and ask when you guys' wedding is and if she can be the maid of honor because shes petty.

can and will make things a competition if that means she'll get the chance to show off to you. some guy your age is impressive at target practice? she'll make an effort to double what he did just to say she can.

"i guess I've just had more experience." meanwhile she knew exactly what she was doing.

getting praise from you is like her main goal, anytime you let her know you're proud of her she feels like the most capable person on earth. on the other side of that is her absolutely debilitating jealousy when it comes to hearing you brag on other people. ellie doesn't pride herself on being nice but she gets pretty mean when she feels like you're giving attention she should be getting to others. you mention how well jesse did on his patrol and all of the sudden she's going on about how she's killed more infected as a kid than jesse could even imagine seeing.

oppositely, shes so sweet to you when you're feeling down, always making sure you know no one's allowed to mess with you (other than her) and if someone had she'd set things straight.

when you're feeling bad, or you're sick she likes to watch you sleep because you look peaceful and its ideal for her to see her girl safe nd happy.

strokes your hands and face while you're asleep, careful not to wake you. she's so infatuated and isn't quite sure how to handle it yet but for now she's able to roll with just being your person.

hello i am back from my silly little lunch break i made a sandwich it was very yummy i need to find a new set of music to listen to while typing, as much as i love jack stauber i think im going to go insane if i hear baby hotline one more time... oddly enough not the first time that specific song has driven me nuts from being overplayed anyways idk side note idk what to do with gifs because i keep running out of TADC gifs and i got a reblog months back on a crp post that implies that gif makers get notified when you use their gifs?? is that true?? if so i am so so so sorry to the tadc gif makers TToTT also still gif related but i keep getting. jumpscared by butts n boobs anytime i open the gif thing i cannot keep doing this!!!!

i think he would find it pretty, like, i dont know how to explain it! i think he would possibly mimic some of your speech mannerisms. probably gives you a cowboy hat. i dont know what it is but i think southern accents, at least from what ive seen, is one of the most romanticized of american accents... maybe its the whole rugged cowboy thing thats commonly associated with it. what im trying to say that i think caine would romanticize it the same way, thanks to him not really having the experience of going out and interacting with people from the south

honestly i like to hc that she grew up in a southern small town before getting stuck in the digital world, but of course she wouldnt remember it... perhaps she would feel some sense of familiarity around you anyways, even if she cant pin down why.. i think that would be nice... she likes listening to you talk

absolutely loves hearing you talk, similar to ragatha! while ragatha clings onto your words thanks to unknown familiarity, gangle just thinks your voice sounds like and soothing, comforting! i dont know what it is but hearing someone trying to comfort you with a heavy southern accent as well as using casual terms of endearment (whether you see this as romantic or platonic is up to you!) in this soft tender voice just always hits different for me. maybe i am guilty of also romanticizing southern accents

At first it was literally battlefield with these two, they would literally stare at each other with death glare’s while they fought each other in their minds on who got to spend or do whatever with you, it could be as simple as who gets to hold your hand

So as you can tell the beginning of the relationship was definitely bumpy. Both of them couldn’t even rap their heads around the fact that they would have to share you equally with one another. If you couldn’t tell they don’t really get along with each other sense their personality’s are so opposite to one’s another

If we’re talking about the first season or Beginning of the second I would say Bill has a big ego, and is filled with pride. While legoshi is shy and a bit timid, so he understands your struggles with being shy it’s a real pain. So he would help as much as he could to keep you from awkward situations, is it hard for him? Yea but I mean at least your comfortable!

Once bill is comfortable with legoshi enough he would actually take a hit for both of you and your shyness, even if it’s small like ordering your foods for you both or shoo-ing someone who’s clearly over stepping. I mean have you seen how big this guy is? Im sure it doesn’t take a lot for the person to scramble away

Both of them are very protective of you, even if your stronger or smaller then them doesn’t really matter. I feel like legoshi is more worried about you then anything and Bill, is just being Bill and gets jealous when the spot light of your attention isn’t on him (￣▽￣)💧 he is quick to scare anyone away even if they weren’t doing anything or are just friends

Your guys relationship are most likely a secret, but it doesn’t last long due to Bill bragging about being with you which just leads to people seeing you being touchy or to nice to legoshi and they start assuming something’s up when they see bill doing the same thing so yea the dots connect pretty quickly. Does anyone judge or say anything? No, cause that would be a death wish at that point. I mean cmon ones a tiger and the others a gray wolf does anything else need to be said?

In most conversations you have with these two is usually full of bill rambling about something and showing off or legoshi Rambling about bugs he found today and any other things, but sometimes on rare occasions both of them just shut up and listen to you talk of your up for it! They love hearing about your day or interest, but if your feeling extra shy they’ll Carry the conversation for you

Sometimes when you guys are free these two love dog piling you (depending if your bigger or smaller) or the love when you lay on them, they usually fight over who you choose but you just end up laying across both of them how does this work? Not sure you gotta make due with you have

Speaking of cuddles onetime you guys were sleeping and just chilling in which ever room you choose, and bill kept hearing a band on the bed. He was pretty annoyed and just grumbled while shifting a bit until he accidentally shifted onto legoshi’s tail which he basically put his full weight onto. And that hurt like a Mf, legoshi was quickly to yelp while accidentally kicking bill pretty heard. Yea that wasn’t the greatest time for both of em, turns out the noise he heard was legoshi’s tail wagging 💀

Their like your personal bodyguards really, I mean they walk with you to class, to lunch, and to break so you can tell why that looks a bit… intimidating but on the plus side most of any rude people avoid you.

Oh! Legoshi’s roommates adore you, they find you very fun to talk to and think your cool!, they usually snatch you away whenever legoshi brings you so they can play games with you 💀that’s why legoshi brings you to bills room instead cause one time they stole you while legoshi was in the bathroom and this guy started freaking out when he couldn’t find you in the small room. Turns out they brought you outside to show you something cool they found

Bill noticed this happens often and has a bit of a sour taste for them, probably doesn’t like them that much to be honest so don’t expect him to come over to legoshi’s room sadly

Overall these two boys don’t mind having a shy partner! They still think your cool either way. Plus legoshi understands so he can’t really blame you. As for the relationship itself it’s bumpy for the first few months but calms down after bill and legoshi start agreeing to get along with each other!

tonight, the triplets and i were having our monthly movie night, a tradition we started in 5th grade.

“chris we’ve watched this movie a thousand times” nick groans.

“a thousand and one” chris corrects, earning an eye roll from nick.

i’m beside matt on the couch. we’re under the same blanket, and practically sitting on top of each other we’re so close. nothing out of the ordinary. we’ve always cuddled like this.

matt’s arms snake around my waist, pulling me in closer to him, his lips never leaving mine.

the problem with love interests for buck and eddie, why the fandom hates them all except tommy, and why buddie endgame would save the showrunners a lot of hassle A RAMBLING ESSAY

ok, so POINT ONE, let's be real, let's call spade a spade: a not insignificant part of that is ✨ (internalised) misogyny✨

you love these two characters, right? buck and eddie, and you love to see them interact and watch how the depths of their friendship deepen even further and you want to see a queer love story on screen because it would be so FUCKING cool, there can never ever be enough of those, and it's right there, it's within reach, WHY IS SOME WOMAN HERE TAKING UP VALUABLE BUDDIE/QUEER-POTENTIAL SCREENTIME

how do i know this? because ive experienced it, and i would bet a not insignificant portion of my worldly possessions that im not the only one

it's kinda fucked up, but i think if we breathe through it, engage rational thought and don't join a mob spewing vitriol in the actors' and showmakers' spaces about it, we can be kinda fucked up about it and learn how to manage it on tumblr and ao3

but that was just point one, what about the rest? or are we all simply crazed shippers who need to touch grass?

nope.

so why do we hate Buck and Eddie's love interests except for tommy?

TLDR:

whoever Eddie and Buck end up with MUST have at least one single good, deep-ish relationship with someone other than them from the 118, otherwise the narrative is overpeopled and overwhelming.

that's why Tommy works and Taylor, Ana, Natalia, Marisol etc don't

there won't be an endgame relationship for either Buck and Eddie before the show starts wrapping up

edit, after getting lost in the tags and seeing how truly unhinged parts of the fandom have become/always been: ok, part of the reason the fandom hated those women definitely was the fact yall need a kick up the butt about the fact that you treat shipping as though it's an office people are sworn into and the fandom's job is to monitor it and police it by mobbing wtf is wrong with you (those of you who are doing it?)

anyway, read more of my long-ass theory below 🤣

well, point two is the nature of the show and the structure of the episodes

it's an ensemble, feel-good-with-spectacles show that for narrative coherence relies on tying the calls the ensemble responds to to some sort of an event that is relevant to one of the character's personal life

that's a lot to ask of 45 minutes, so it's lucky that the main characters (bobby, athena, buck, chimney, hen, maddie, eddie) are paired up for these personal narratives and lessons: bobby+athena, bobby+buck, bobby+eddie, hen+karen, hen+chim, chim+maddie, maddie+buck, buck+eddie

just look at it. it is A LOT of stories, right?

and since family life, building a family, making a family, staying a family is the name of the game in this show, it's lucky that bobby and athena, chimney and maddie, hen and karen are established as their own little family units with romantic relationships and can go through all these things together

but what about eddie and buck? well, they're their own unit, along with christopher. they're great together and it's satisfying to watch them on screen together, so we want more of it. and...

and look, the fact is that most of the narratives we see in general are amatonormative. we are conditioned to look for romantic love in every story we watch. that's not necessarily wrong or bad. it's just the way we are as a society.

because 118 is a found family that's formed of traditional family units (by which i mean amatonormative) the firehouse family is the larger overarching structure, the foundation on which the romantic relationships are built, the pin that holds all the strings together.

buck and eddie are the only ones with loose romantic strings.

when we see two romantically unattached characters on screen, attaching them becomes the goal. getting them a proper love interest gives you narrative tension and something to work towards and build a story around.

the problem is that 911 already has a shitton of characters. and to write a love story that would be satisfying and on par with what Bobby has with Athena, Hen with Karen and Maddie with Chimney, you need to give both parts of the couple time on screen, together and separately. the separately is veeery important.

we love these couples because we've watched them grow and we've seen them fail and we've got to know them.

now tell me, WHERE THE FUCK DO YOU GET THAT AMOUNT OF SCREENTIME FOR TWO NEW WHOLE CHARACTERS?? in 45 minutes where at least 3 things are happening to the main cast at once and also there's explosions and car crashes and DJs glued to billboards?

WHERE?

well, you can introduce a new character through another storyline Buck and Eddie experience in episode. like Ana and the skateboard and Ali with the earthquake and Natalia with the living funeral and Marisol with the hardware store.

now, let me make something clear: there is NOTHING wrong with any of these characters. stg the way some of the fandom goes on about them you'd think these women are the satan. they could have worked in relationships with Buck and Eddie. IF they had been given the opportunity to become involved with the firehouse family in any way.

it's just not enough to have Ana watch over Eddie in hospital or sit on the couch with him and Chris, or play charades. that simply doesn't cut it.

Karen and Hen work because they are married and have a child together and have been from the start, even before we knew just how friendly Chim and Karen are. HenRen came as a unit, and Karen has been around long enough and given enough time throughout the entire show that we accept her as part of the firehouse family, even though she doesn't interact with the 118 other than Hen very often.

so if you want a longer term believable relationship that the audience can become attached to, what do you do?

well, you can give Ana a storyline with Athena and Hen, maybe there's an emergency at the school (no, bringing muffins during a blackout and eating them off screen just aint it chief). you can have Natalia call 911 and Maddie picks up, and Natalia gets another perspective on death that has less of a Ask-a-Mortician vibe and more terrible sudden tragedy.

so why not do that? the writers aren't idiots. I don't subscribe to the belief that they are utter geniuses and can do no wrong either (there has been stuff that was A CHOICE), but they know what they're doing.

idk if they didn't commit to the previously mentioned relationships because of stuff with budgets and actor availabilities and all that stuff that goes into a tv show production.

or if becuase when you leave your two unattached strings dangling, you have more stories to tell than if you leave only one.

THE PROBLEM OF TK (not from Lone Star)

well, you can also introduce a love interest another way.

you reach into the past and select a character your audience has already met. enter...

Taylor Kelly. ha, did you think I was gonna say Tommy Kinard? well, this does apply to Tommy too.

Taylor left an impression in Dosed, didn't she? there was chemistry between her and Buck, her job brought her naturally in contact with the firehouse calls, so why not bring her back as Buck's love interest?

why did so many of us hate her so much? why didn't she work?

it wasn't just that she took up buck-eddie-together screentime

I believe it's because even though Taylor's willingness to exploit Bobby's personal tragedy was (under a certain lens) presented as a girlboss move ("you don't have to like it"), it's an utterly despicable thing to do and besides "i tell other people's stories for a living because i hate telling my own" the show never (as far as i remember) gave her a moment when she could show she regretted her lack of compassion.

it wouldn't have taken much. just one single moment with Bobby (maybe even separately from Bobby), where she in some way shows that she knows that with great news-power comes great responsibility and she regrets the harm she did or could have caused not only to Bobby.

look at Tommy, he was a dickhead when we first met him. to Hen, to Chim, but we got that one reconciliation scene with Chimney and then a couple of short scenes interacting with the firehouse in a friendly way and we ADORE HIM.

and it's not just because Lou Ferrigno Jr. is hot and we like to see hot boys kissing other hot boys, though that does certainly contribute.

and it's not just because through Tommy, we get the possibility of a buddie endgame: although that also does contribute

it's because Tommy through those snippets in Chimney Begins, Hen Begins, Bobby Begins Again is already tied into the foundation of 118. Even without the occasional mentions through the rest of the show, even without the helicopter ride and the mouth static.

he's established, he's in good standing with the Family, he doesn't require massive amounts of screentime and storytime to make him so.

ADDITIONALLY, through a relationship with him we get to see Buck, the main character, explore who he is and evolve and come into his own.

I actually firmly believe that BuckTommy could be endgame and it would be a satisfying ending.

If it wasn't for Eddie flailing around talking about repression and catholic guilt.

Because we see how unhappy Eddie is, we seek to have him be comforted by his partner, the one other unattached romantic string, Buck. that's the only thing that makes sense. AT THE MOMENT.

unless they give us some serious Marisol experiences with the firehouse on screen, there is no way the Eddie and Marisol thing will be satisfying or long-lasting. no matter what bra the actress wears in which scene and how great the character allegedly is with christopher.

unless they give us another new character for Eddie to fall in love with that forms a bond with the firehouse.

srsly, without other good connection(s) to the firehouse family, any romantic interest for Buck and Eddie just doesn't feel like they belong because they are hanging onto the plot by just one string (to continue the metaphor), and they feel extraneous, redundant and don't mesh. we haven't had time with them, we're not invested in them, which makes them frustrating to watch because why are we here with this rando when buck/eddie in their place would be so much more satisfying?

(i believe lucy could have worked if they had given her more time and importance in the story, and didn't start her out with the cheating plotline. but i don't think she was ever srsly considered a love interest more of a complication to the buck/taylor stuff)

so why do I think Buddie can be an endgame only if the show's wrapping up?

because I don't think the writers will want to abandon the loose romantic strings for Buck and Eddie before the last season.

they won't want to miss out on the potential storylines

and even though if you get Buck and Eddie together romantically, you're going to get A LOT of story out of that, eventually, all water finds its level and so you can't have them on a relationship roller-coaster for too long before it becomes unsettling and unsatisfying.

Buck and Eddie would be excellent together not only because of the deep bond they already share, but because it lets the writers tie up loose ends without needing extra screentime for other characters. and once you put them together, you really don't want to break them apart. unless you want a how-i-met-your-mother shit ending.

American Woman (Thomas Shelby x American OC) Ch. 3: Admiring Power

The family goes on chatting while I ladle soup into more bowls and pass them out, earning compliments as they dig in. I’m glad to see that they’re starting to accept me, but it’s still limiting since I’m the only one here who’s not a Shelby. I clean up what I can and then sneak off to my room, knowing that I have no reason to invade their family dinner. First I go to do some reading, but remember my only book is still in Finn’s room. All I have left is my Bible and a small embroidery project-

Huff!

I freeze at the new noise coming from outside the window. Cautiously, I creep over and stick my head out. What on Earth…? Oh. There’s a horse outside. But not just any horse. One of the most beautiful horses I’ve ever seen. Tall, black, and sleek.

“Well hello there,” I greet the animal. “Are you alone too? Want some company?” The horse tosses its head. “I’ll take that as a yes.”

Sneaking out the window on my first night of employment might not be my best call, but I have better chances of making friends with this horse right now than I do with my employers. The window’s big enough to slide through, and the alley’s empty so I don’t have to worry about being seen. After I’m out and standing next to the grand animal, I hold out my hand for him to smell.

“You’re magnificent. I bet you’re one of the Shelby’s horses. But I’m a bit surprised to find a horse like you being kept in this dodgy place. You deserve a wide, green pasture.”

“He has one.”

I nearly jump out of my skin when I hear Thomas’ voice, spinning to find him standing by a door a few feet away.

“Having a midnight rendezvous, are we?”

“N-No, Mr. Shelby. I was settling into my room when this creature asked to chat.”

Thomas raises an eyebrow. “He said that?”

“Well, no… But he does seem awfully friendly. When you’ve grown up in the city your whole life you don’t really get to interact with horses. Is this your horse?”

“Yes,” he states plainly.

“He’s beautiful.”

Thomas looks to see if I’m joking, but is surprised when I’m not. “Thank you. His name is Monaghan Boy, races at Kempton next week. Yesterday I arranged a bit of a magic trick to help him win.”

This surprises me, considering that Thomas seems to be the most bland of the group. “I didn’t take you for a man who believes in magic,” I say as I lean against the alley wall.

“You call it magic, I call it a publicity stunt. When Monaghan Boy wins he’ll gain more popularity and then everyone will bet on ‘im.”

“All profiting towards your business, I’m sure. You seem awfully young to run a bookkeeping business.”

Thomas cocks his head. “And you seem awfully young to be alone. What’s your story, love?”

At first my mind warns me to keep things simple and not to go into detail. No one needs to know my deep family roots, so I’ll keep it simple.

“My name is Verena Nora Steenstra. My father’s Dutch, and my mother’s Irish. All my life I’ve lived in Brooklyn, New York, and of course with my luck the first time we decide to take a vacation is when I get left behind.”

This gives Thomas an intrigued look. “That’s different. I’m sorry to hear that. Will your family come looking for you?”

I chuckle and give a halfhearted shrug. “Who knows. I’m the youngest of five brothers, and they’re always lecturing about how I need to ‘toughen up’ and ‘see the world.’ Maybe they left me here on purpose.”

“Seems harsh.”

“They’re family, I still love them.” I give Thomas a grin. “You’ve very good at interrogating, Mr. Shelby. A real gentleman, letting a woman do all the talking. But if you’re looking for any vital information I can’t help you. My father runs his business water-tight.”

Once again Thomas is fazed by my reaction. “Are all Americans this sassy? You’re much more sophisticated than I pinned you for.”

“Well thank you! I do admit I’m more reserved than some but when the time comes I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty. But enough of me. Could you tell me a bit about how your family business works?”

Thomas suddenly goes stiff and looks around to make sure we’re alone. I don’t know why, but I’m finding myself opening up more to this strange character. He seems lost. Almost as if he can’t seem to figure out what to do with his life. He beckons me closer and I notice he smells faintly of mint, ash, and cigarettes.

“I’ll tell you the basics, but you need to keep this to yourself. No blabbing to the coppers, is that clear?” He warns.

I nod stiffly. “Crystal.” I’ve known my fair share of keeping family secrets.

“Good. Arthur and Nipper work the books. Nipper’s not as important, Aurthur runs the show.”

“He seems… Nice.”

Thomas chuckles. “If you think that’s nice just wait ‘till you see him drunk.”

“I don’t plan to. And what is it you do, Mr. Shelby?”

Thomas gets a cocky look and steps closer, towering over me as his icy blue eyes seem to peer straight through me. “I think, so they don’t have to. I’m the one who drums up new money and keeps things in order. Such as discovering if new pretty faces like you are a threat.”

I stifle a laugh. “The closest I’d ever get to a threat is if you forced me to. My suggestion: keep your own business out of mine.”

This seems to please Thomas, because he gets a satisfied smile and leans in to whisper: “Good, then we understand each other.” He leans away, leaving me slightly dazed from him being so close. “Someone else you need to stay away from is Freddie Thorne. He’s the BSA union covener, and a communist.”

My eyebrows rise. “Better for me not to even meet him. If my father hears I’ve been involved with a commie he’ll disown me.”

“Yeah, well, he didn’t used to be like that. If we have anything in common, we both give false hope to the poor. Freddie with his speeches, me with my horses,” Thomas remarks as he strokes Monaghan Boy.

“I can tell you’re very proud of your horses, as you should be. Seeing that black beauty of a beast trot through the street is enough to chill your blood.”

Thomas turns to me with a devilish grin. “You admire my horse?”

“I admire many things, Mr. Shelby.” Such as your suave demeanor and effective use of authority.

Something in Thomas’ eyes seems to flicker, a quick sign of vulnerability. “You know, normally I require that all employees call me that. However, since you’ve been hired to specifically help my brother and not to run the business, you can call me Thomas.”

Alright, what is this man’s angle? Butter me up and get me to spill my family’s secrets? Because I won’t. But that doesn’t mean his charm is going unnoticed. Never once has a man made my heart this light before and I’m hoping it doesn’t show.

“Very well, Thomas. Thank you for trusting me. I know that’s very important coming from you.”

“Sure is, love. Now I think we’d better get back inside before people start looking for you.” Thomas puts a surprisingly gentle hand on my shoulder and guides me to the back door, where I give one last wave to Monaghan Boy before he leads me back to my room.

“My room’s directly next to yours, so keep that in mind the next time you plan on sneaking out,” he warns lightly.

“Believe me, Thomas, you have no fear of me running off in the night. I don’t know where I’d go and probably wouldn’t be able to last one night without getting beaten to a pulp.”

Thomas tips his hat just before he goes to shut my door. “Goodnight, Verena.”

“Goodnight, Thomas.”

Once I’m alone again I quickly dress into my nightgown and turn off the lights, climb into bed and say a grateful prayer for all the help I’ve received today. Just before my heavy eyelids close, my last thought is of the unexpected feelings that Thomas Shelby has awoken inside me…

Honestly, not even sure I should be asking this here but trial and error.

Very incredibly new to Tumblr and its workings. I definetly want to share my writing here but I'm not sure how to start or what I'm doing frankly. Looking at your blog and how its formatted is definitley something I want to achieve but going about that is the issue. I DON'T WANT TO COPY YOU, your blog just leaks experience.

I'm honestly probably overwhelmed by the amount of new "social norms" on Tumblr considering a lot of what I'm used to is different here. That was a lot of overexplaining that I didn't need to do. I should've started with that fact that I'm looking for pointers/advice if you'd be willing.

If not, thanks anyway pooks <3 I apologize for how long this came out to be.

firstly, welcome to tumblr. i hope u enjoy ur time in this space :) it takes a while to get accustomed to but you’ll get the hang of it !! ah i see, no worries !! yes yes, i tend to make my blog or my pinned post per say really easy and direct so ppl can access things + usually it’s important to make a pinned post if ur a writer / potential writer so u can add all the necessary things (masterlist, rules, before you follow + dni, etc) i like being neat and real precise—and yeah !! i guess u can say i have a bit of experience with tumblr

but of course, i see what u mean. it’s quite easy to feel overwhelmed here. for me, that’s why im only on here for certain minutes / hours at a time. take a long break then come back later. 🩶

but to conclude, yeah !! if ur wanting to start off as a new writer — try to plan everything out before you start publishing. it’s kind of a lot to grasp. the tumblr tag system, interactions, setting up your blog so it can be easier to access for others, but first don’t overwhelm urself. start easy, make a simple pinned post with like maybe a masterlist, rules of stuff u write / don’t write, n that sort of stuff !! i hope this helps u 🩶😽

Akagi’s art made me go back and reread that specific scene where T!Reader keeps talking about kissing Lyney. (Beautiful art btw <3 I would ask out T!Reader on a date. She has two hands-). And although I didn’t realize it before, it felt like an interesting reversal of the normal interactions with them? Not to mention a couple of Lyney’s responses have me wanting to shake this man and demand his secrets. The magic man can’t hide them forever.

“It would’ve been easier if we hated each other, huh?” He traces his thumb over your lip, looking forlorn. “I wouldn’t have hesitated to protect my status as a Fatuus the moment you came back out of thin air.”

MAGIC MAN I DEMAND YOUR HIDDEN MEANINGS!!! Do you mean as seeing her as a threat? Physically?? Status wise?? Could it be the fact that even if you both hated each other she might still be able to read you like a book? Is it the fact she could have been a threat to Father’s favor of you as heir even if you don’t want it because last you knew, she did?? I know hating each other would have made it easier to dispose of someone who was once family but I can’t land on one solid reasoning behind this sentence. My brain ain’t big enough for this chief.

Lyney slumps against the wall, defeated. “Don’t just say that, Y/N. You can’t go around saying that.”

My heart goes out to this man. I know you talked previously in a different ask about the who knows about who’s feelings, but I don’t think you mentioned lyney’s perspective! Just that it was ours to interpret. So this line made me wonder- does he genuinely think reader doesn’t love him? That he needs to pull every trick in the book and plan 12 steps ahead just to slowly connect with her and have a chance? Because this definitely gave me that feeling. My take after my reread of the scene was that he felt like she was just being impulsive because of the alcohol with no real meaning behind it. He wants it to be real so bad, wants it to have those words be genuine but doesn’t think so. That he wants her to stop saying that because he knows(falsely but shh) that it isn’t true. And also because like Akagi said Furina really do be testing him but again shhhhhh.

Hey I'm gonna interact with you in good faith here, but I can't trust that you're a good actor because there's a lot of red flags of a donation scam here. I'm gonna detail them for you so that if you aren't trying to exploit our mutual aid community, you'll know how to avoid looking like a scam artist

Sending asks to strangers isn't how we disseminate donation posts; some users will reblog your donation post to their audience if asked, but this is usually only done with users you have an established follower/mutual relationship with.

This ask reads very similarly to the sorts of scripted sob stories that scammers will use, usually literally using a program to mass-send these sorts of messages.

Your blog is seemingly brand new, with reblogs and other content starting only a few hours before you made your aid request post. I do believe it's possible that you are having a real emergency and learned that Tumblr is a good platform to fundraise on and you made your blog specifically to fundraise, but the existence of scammers who exploit mutual aid means this is a red flag.

Asking me to respond to you privately is a huge red flag; it triggers suspicion that you're trying to hide that this is a copied message that has been sent to and/or from several different blogs.

I am going to be publishing and tagging this ask so that users whom I trust might verify that you're real, and as an educational resource to help other users recognize the signs of a mutual aid scam.

Remember that mutual aid is about a community helping itself, so that means you need to have a connection to the community to participate in it.

me and @local-soda-can are gonna start outlining Nerdy Prudes Must Die Kai soon and here are a few ideas I had for that

can you guys tell i love inserting Kai’s name into the titles???

Kai comes in before/after/during literal monster holding a map of the school (the police or something forcibly enrolled her and now she has to go to school) and she’s just completely confused and lost

Max does the whole “this is my hallway!!” thing and Kai’s like “fun fact I literally do not care” and he pisses her off so much she kicks him in the balls- she meets the rest of the prudes while on the run from various teachers who’re trying to expel her or something

Kai was in the Waylon Place night of the prank to try and relax and get away from the chaos of Hatchetfield. There isn’t a sign of anyone breaking in bc Kai knows how to pick locks. Kai hangs out there a lot.

She walks in on them looking at Max’s (almost) dead body and is like “woah you guys killed that guy!!! ö haha I’m gonna go call the cops on yall I’m OUT!!!”

…Grace then blackmails her into helping bury/hide the body because she threatens to pin everything on Kai (bc Kai breaks in and shit)

Theres this scene with max and kai im making into a comic that has something to do with snickers and it needs to be real because it’s silly and also it makes way for this idea:

Kai hangs out with Max’s ghost a lot and she vents to him about how much she hates the prudes, how she wants to get back to Unington, and other shit

They like sending videos to the prudes group chat (that Kai was forcibly added into) that make it seem like Max is about to kill Kai and she always texts the dumbest shit after like “phew!!! made it out okay!!! gee, let’s hope that doesn’t happen again!”

They laugh their asses off about it

Kai has no friends during the run of NPMD

she hates the prudes for getting her involved in a manslaughter/murder,

she has no clue if max is her friend or if he’s only keeping her around for the snickers bars,

And everyone else is too in love with afraid of her to even get near her

It kinda hurts but she’s learning to deal with it

Anyways Kai agreed and Paul is the biggest dad ever

He asks her how school was and he cooks dinner for them and they snuggle on the couch and have movie nights

They have to share a bedroom but he got her dividers and turned the bottom of the closet into a hangout nook for Kai so it’s like she has her own little room

everyone keeps dragging Kai everywhere by the wrist- she does NOT wanna be there-

Kai keeps talking to the audience in front of everyone and she interacts with the audience a lot

For example, she crumples up and tosses her map to someone in the audience and finger guns and winks at them afterwards

She gets like a gazillion love notes a day-

she gets so angry she just eats them-

nobody knows why and they’re just like:

“Aw she’s silly :]”

“I LITERALLY HATE ALL OF YOU”

“I’m soooo in love with her :3”

“IM GOING TO KILL ALL OF YOU”

in the words of my pal:

“she’s so perfect :3333

(she is going to go feral-)”

All of Kai’s classes have at least one prude in them

Kai kinda wishes she had friends and tries to talk to people, but she’s so autistic, socially awkward, and anxious she either ends up shutting down, staying quiet, or insulting them

Kai goes to the sports games purely for the food and hides in the bathroom the entire time (the crowds and lights overstimulate her)

Kai hangs out at beanie’s a lot

She’s still Emma’s favorite customer.

She accidentally calls her Mom a lot.

Emma loves it every time.

It often goes uncorrected.

If Kai is alive for homecoming, she’s going there WAY overdressed-

she’s been homeschooled the majority of her life and has never been to a school dance-

she’s only been to like high class galas/parties so she thinks it’s like that

spoiler alert it is NOT

Kai is aware she’s in a musical

she really doesn’t wanna be in one but she knows

sometimes you can see her groovin uncomfortably to the music in the background

there was like... a disabled artist who drew nsfw of disabled characters on twitter (somebody i really liked) and motherfuckers chased him off the platform for stupid reasons, hope that dude is doing well fr i hate to see that stuff happen

more thoughts under the cut because i have a lot of them actually, related to art censorship in general and a bit of the trauma that ive been through

so it was a bunch of like... puritans. theres no other word for it really they were puritans. they were saying he fetishized disabled people just because he..... drew disabled people being happy as disabled people and having sex. like how fat artists will draw fat characters having sex and be attacked for "fetishization", same for trans characters etc. i have some words on that as all three of those things.

full stop obviously you should be able to draw whatever you want as long as nobody real is hurt. you should not be treated as a monster for covering anything other than cishet neurotypical yt people and it is definitely not as progressive as you think it is to think otherwise.

trans people have sex. fat people have sex. disabled people have sex. black people, asian people, indigenous people etc etc, everyone who is capable of consent and desires sex in some capacity, can have sex, and (unfortunately) even some who don't want to have sex or cant consent to sex, will sometimes have sex. sex is not an inherently evil or sinful or gross and yucky thing. it is simply a form of intimacy, and whether the intimacy is desired or not... is case by case.

attacking people for making art of sex - even sex that wasn't desired by the characters - is not going to help. we should be focusing on preventing rape and grooming irl. the nasty kinky art is not the problem. blaming the art instead of the predators is part of the problem. child abuse agencies are begging people to stop reporting lolishotacon/kodocon art as it doesnt help real children in any capacity, even if its questionable in subject. im glad you think its weird and uncomfortable!! its supposed to be!! but holy fucking shit please do not assume bad faith just because the art is fucked up, you are a terrible person!!

i really, really fucking need people to stop trying to censor art. you do not know the artist, you do not know their intentions unless they state it. you are allowed to be uncomfortable with things but if you make moral judgments of them based on that - especially just because sex is involved! - i genuinely despise you. it is people like you that have made my life as a trans, disabled, fat, plural jewish persons harder.

i wish that people would give attention to real abuse instead of fictional content... it probably would have saved me from what happened to me, and i wouldn't have to make the art that i do. i haven't posted the more weird things here yet just because im not as familiar with tumblr's environment rn, i'm getting back into things.

the bottom line is - and this is in my bio and my pinned post!! - i do not fucking want people who equate fictional content to irl things interacting with me and the only people who have interacted with my art so far are people like that. i don't fucking want you here, you are just as bad as conservatives trying to censor and kill people like me.

i hate you with every fiber of my being. i do not give a shit how cringe that sounds, i hate you lol. even if i dont like proshippers as a general group (there is a SHIT TON of bigotry there just as there is in anti spaces, i don't like either of the groups!!), i still am extremely wary of people who put them in their dni and in the same breath equate lolisho to real pedophilia. as a csa survivor, you are part of the problem, and anyone who immediately writes me off as a predator just for saying this, i am going to assume you hate victims who actually do something productive with their trauma.

Summary

We put the IRL in PKMN IRL lmao This blog takes place in our reality, the real world, but Pokemon suddenly began to appear over a year ago through Ultra Wormholes. Just the Pokemon. No Pokeballs, no healing items, no tech specific to the Pokemon world. Without the Pokemon-specific infrastructure that the fictional games have, our reality was fully unprepared for the arrival of Pocket Monsters, and quickly fell into chaos.
