i get that we can get attached to certain visions of how characters look in our heads, but it’s so painfully obvious to me why this particular person on twitter is still salty over olivia cooke’s casting and apparently still complaining about it months later.

they argue that it’s about casting more approriately age-wise... and yet the actress they chose for alicent of the dance era is almost a decade older than f&b’s age of 40-41.  

olivia and emily’s casting has also been praised because of the resemblance between them, and to olivia’s resemblance to tom who plays her son.  this actress looks nothing like them.  her eyes are blue, lol.  its just very obvious to me that they chose this particular actress because while she's absolutely not ugly,  let's be real alicent has never been described as plain and (in their minds) this actress is the plainest possible they can get away.  

I don't care if someone calls me shallow for this (imo there's a big difference between having a person, private opinion versus bullying someone) because this same person thinks emma is just fine as older rhaenyra, despite the fact that rhaenyra is plus-size. (so is helaena, viserys, and aegon for that matter)

like bro it’s so weird that they’re upset over an objectively good-looking woman being cast to play... a character that was described as good-looking.

Probably conscious enough of her position and duties to make it into a statement- SHE is the future of Targaryen rule. It even sounds like an action of a clever, yet properly dramatic youth.

And if we go with the show's canon- green being the colour of distress fire in Oldtown- Alicent decided it's time to gather allies to get rid of Nyra.

This isn't some poor teen mother desperately trying to protect her children, because her father told her she has no other choice. This is an adult woman, deciding she's got enough of that teen brat, who's in the way of her plans for her son.

Aemond knew what he wanted and the sacrifices that needed to be made to get such things. He wanted a dragon, it took an eye to get it. He wanted the Conqueror’s crown, it took his brother being burnt to get it. He wanted a legacy that would surpass his lifetime, etched into the very being of Westeros itself. The sacrifice needed for this would be to chain himself to a woman he likely wouldn’t be interested in.

That is where you came in. 

You were sweet, he supposed. Sweet in a way that made his teeth ache. Sweet in a way akin to a mouse and how it looked up at the cat just before his jaws snapped around the mouse’s head. 

He didn’t need to like you. Many marriages were forged in dislike or just plain indifference, set to a mutual goal. He supposed your mutual goal was children. All he needed was to use you as a vessel, a womb for his seed to take hold. 

You poor thing, you didn’t really understand that he didn’t truly care for you. You were nice enough looking, of course– hair that reminded him of autumn leaves, always styled in some intricate style with half a hundred braids, dozens of pins and decorative pearls. You reminded Aemond of a stoat, dark eyes against muted auburn fur, lips always pursed, sniffing the air in search for hounds on your tail. You certainly were a skittish, jittery little thing.

The marriage was a quick affair, done at the Sept two days after Aemond wore the Conqueror’s crown for the first time. You weren't a part of some major house, all of the major houses were too close, too greedy, their breaths hot against his neck as they shoved their wedable daughters at him. The last thing he wished for was to be indebted to some trivial lord who thought his name elevated him to the same stratosphere as Aemond– a paltry lady of some low house bred in the Riverlands would do just fine, he expected his Valyrian seed to dominate any of their week genes anyhow.

He had met you once before, many years ago before he lost his eye. When he was forced to tag along on some meager diplomacy meeting with his grandsire– he remembers it as being forced, but in reality, he wished to attend. What else was a second son with no dragon to do? – and you had been there, hiding behind your father’s trousers. You had been wearing a blue dress, he remembered this distinctly, as it stood out against the ruby red of the apple you had offered him. 

Aemond had tried to speak with you, but you only communicated in nods and soft noises– something you only partially grew out of. He never understood why he remembered this girl, as you were insignificant in the seas of faces he’s met over his life. Mayhaps it was your quiet nature that he remembered, something that, now at his age and state of mind, struck him as malleable, easy to mold into what he needed you to be. 

And so it shall be.

It was about two and a half moons after your marriage, he returned from a late council meeting. Rubbing his eye, feeling the familiar thrum of pain right behind the socket, he was already in a particularly sour mood. The council meeting had gone south, ending in most of the lords bickering over one another like children. 

It irritated Aemond to no end, the strain of an oncoming headache ever looming. He still struggled with intense pain from his eye, or rather, his socket and severed nerves. The pain was debilitating at times and if anyone dared to test his patience when it was particularly bad, he would snap at them like a cornered animal, no matter who it was. 

Raising his head, he noticed the hearth was still going strong, multiple candles still lit in the solar, despite it being late at night. The now familiar crop of auburn hair was peeking from behind the couch— his wife was usually never up this late. 

“Why are you still awake, wife?” he asked as he took off his gloves, clenching and unclenching his fists. 

“… reading. I was waiting for you.” you murmured in your usual hushed tone, the sound of your book closing was louder than your voice. 

“I told you not to do that. It’s unnecessary.” he grunted in response, undoing the latches of his leather doublet. 

“I-I don’t mind it… I just sleep a bit easier…” you continued, no doubt twiddling the end of your braid between your fingers— an anxious habit.

“You need proper rest. I won’t have my wife looking like a sleepless, sloven mess,” Aemond chastised, discarding his shirt. “Now, what are you reading?” he was becoming increasingly irritated with you, feeling as if he had to force you to take care of yourself and unlatch you like a leech from him. When you looked upon him with your wide eyes filled with uncertainty and fear, he felt the overwhelming urge to wrap his fingers around your throat and squeeze until you passed out or mayhaps went limp, like a doll.

“Oh,” you slid the book towards him on the side table, it was a book on the history of Old Valyria and its language, usually used for children to begin speaking it. “Nyke j-jaelagon… naejot ēdrugon… va ao.” I wish to sleep next to you. 

Aemond’s brow furrowed. “What use do you have to learn High Valyrian, wife? Issa dōna ābrazȳrys mijegon nykeā notion isse zȳhon bartos, wanting naejot gūrēñagon mirros ziry daor.” My sweet wife without a thought in her head, wanting to learn something she cannot. 

You reached for the book, your comprehension not skilled enough yet to pull what Aemond was saying to you. Before you could grab it, he slammed his hand down on the book, effectively snatching it from your grasp. You pouted her bottom lip. “I want to learn… mayhaps it might bring us closer together.” 

Aemond scoffed, the sound sending a sting of pain right into the core of your chest. “We are as close as we need to be, little one. We are married in the eyes of Gods and men and we fulfill our marital duty by trying to produce heirs, hm?” He placed the book back on the shelf. “This nonsense of wanting to be closer is moot. I won’t hear of it anymore.” 

A glaze of sorrow flashed through your eyes before you got up from the couch, tightening the housecoat around your shoulders. 

“Come to bed,” he said, moreso as a command than a suggestion. “I know you are cold, ābrazȳrys.” Wife. 

You made a small noise of discernment, crawling into bed after him. 

He looped his arms around you, pressing you to his bare chest. He radiated heat like a furnace and was quick to warm you up– you were always so cold, he noted. He surely hoped that your children together would inherit his fiery blood and not the weak-willed, uninsulated Andal blood you possessed.

Aemond bounced from being indifferent to you, paying you no more mind than a maid or a whore, to needing you, every part of you. He didn’t see you as a person, moreso an extension of himself, latched onto his body until he consumed you entirely, your bones fusing together as one. To him, you were a doll or plaything to entertain him, testing the mettle of your will, to see if you were of poor craftsmanship and would break. He had always broken his toys as a child.

You could tell by the rhythm of his breathing, he wasn’t going to sleep just yet– you’d become very attuned to his moods, his small intakes of air against your neck causing your skin to prickle into goosebumps. His lips ghosted over your throat, one of his arms coming up to wrap near the base of your windpipe, not yet applying pressure, but the threat was there. 

No, it wasn’t so much as a threat than it was a promise– he quite liked applying pressure to your airways when you coupled, his lone violet eye centered intently on yours as they went from wide to half-lidded, soft whimpers of pleading to stop, sometimes for more, more. He relished in holding your very life in his hands and you let him. 

“Mayhaps I should get you a collar, wife,” he hummed, his voice husky and deep, reverberating deep within your chest as your heart pounded. “But I think you like my hands much better, don’t you?” 

“Y-yes,” you breathed, the small swallowing bob of your throat felt against the palm of his hand, causing him to grin. “... I fancy them– on my tender neck… between my legs…” you responded, feeling slightly bold at the notion you put forth. The heat of his body permeated your skin, warming your core into an ever familiar feeling.

Aemond all but growled at your comment, positioning the both of you to where you were laying with your back upon him, as if you were lazing upon him like a chair. “Feeling courageous tonight, are we? No matter, my dear, you will break all the same,” his mouth pressed to the shell of your ear, teeth nipping at your lobe. “Like every night before, and every night to come– your life is in my hands,” he enunciated this with a squeeze to your neck, eliciting a small mewl from you. “Is it not? Say it.”

“M-my life– belongs to you, husband,” you managed to squeak out.

“Not husband, not now. You know the rules.”

“M-my king, your grace,” you rephrased quickly.

He clicked his tongue in slight admonishment. “A bit slow on the take tonight, little one,” Aemond muttered, slotting his leg between yours and kicking your thighs apart. “Keep them open.” his voice was dripping with something between venom and sticky sweet honey. He felt akin to a God every time he was in the sky, every time he sat the throne with the crown on his head, and every time he rested his hand on your pretty little throat as he sheathed himself to the hilt inside of you so easily, so free of resistance. “So slick for me, just from the smallest of chokes– fucking whore.” he hissed, starting a slow, deliberate pace as his hips met against your bottom. The pair of you were like two threads, intertwined with his legs pretzeling around yours, keeping you spread open. 

Your breath hitched in your throat as he continued to bully that sensitive, spongy spot within you– but you craved so much more, feeling waves of heat emanate from your sensitive bud as it screamed at your brain, begging to be touched. You made the critical error, thinking your husband was too focused on his own pleasure to notice you going for your own, as your hand slowly descended between your legs, rubbing small circles upon your pearl.

“You’re lucky you have such a sweet cunt,” Aemond mused, his immodest and downright sinful language going straight to your core as he nestled inside of you once more, menacing atop you like a darkening cloud. “I forgive you– and will even pleasure you. That’s what you want, isn’t it? To come?”

Skz as Mythical creatures

Bang Chan - Werewolf. There's nothing to question here about this. Man literally gives so much wolf vibes that writers on Tumblr use wolf memes for his smaus. But also werewolves have been used throughout history to provide a sense of wisdom combined with misinterpretation. Wisdom, in the form of living and going through so much in their moon drunk lives. And like is that not Chan?

Lee Minho: A warlock. Warlocks are basically wizards who get their magic from evil sources. They conjure magic called 'blue magic' aka evil magic from shady sources and repay that debt with their own blood. They have been known to help people from time to time but only the people who need it the most, like a raped woman who no one believes. Oh also they are known to have cats as their companions! And they live very secluded lives usually in forests and grow mushrooms. My brain is dying thinking about evil warlock Minho cause my standards are so fucked up

Seo Changbin: A dragon. Listen LISTEN TO ME. I chose a dragon for Changbin, because they have many myths of false appearance. When I first got into skz, I really though our Binnie was the most serious person in this group. But then I saw how those hips moved, and I was like 'oh so he's Barbie and Shakira combined and put into one man'. Dragons are known as fierce creatures who protect the gold that they hoard and destroy villages, but how much of that is true? Mostly they do it to protect themselves and the gold which they have rightfully earned. Also they are extremely loyal and friendly once you understand them and don't harm their loved ones (yes even dragons have loved ones)

Hwang Hyunjin: Selkie. Selkies are basically mermaids, who originate from Scotish folk tales (trust me they are VERY popular here). They turn into seals in water and turn back into human if daylight or moonlight touches them, Aka if they come on land. They are very dual creatures, being pretty and kind to most humans, especially women, but they can also be the most savage beasts when it comes to men who have corrupted for their own pleasure. Their siren songs are very captivating and they are known to make art out of conch shells.

Han Jisung: A shapeshifter. Han Jisung is truly a puzzle. Like man could be intense babygirling one moment and then two seconds later literally kill all of us with wavy hair, sweaty face and those fingers playing the guitar finger kink go brr. Jisung is more fitting to the shapeshifter brand when you realise that the humans who used to be good at doing everything and not crack under intense pressure were awarded this shapeshifting power by the Gods. So yeah our fourth gen ace would definetly be a shapeshifter.

Lee Felix: A fairy. Need I explain anything? Need I even write an entire essay about this? (Already wrote it but fine). He would definitely be a healing fairy. Like he would whip up medicines and hide them in his delicious brownies to trick unwilling children into taking them (MY HEART IS TOO WEAK FOR FELIX HANDING OUT BROWNIES). He would def live in the woods in like a tiny cottage, which is decorated with creepers and vines and soft moss, where he rests his pretty wings, excuse me I need to write something on this.

Kim Seungmin: A nymph. Nymphs are actually more powerful than they are portrayed nowadays. Many of them were sons and daughters of river or tree Gods and they used to possess the quality of being able to fic someone in a trance with their voices. LIKE HELLO? MR KIM SEUNGMIN WITH THAT GOLDEN VOICE? Also they were known to be mischievous, always teasing pixies and fairies and taunting beings older than them. (I am not making this up yet legit used to taunt old trees for being so old and wise because nymphs never used to age or they would age VERY slowly)

Yang Jeongin: A vampire. Alexa play Vampire by Olivia Rodrigo please. I mean dude's literally immortal I'm telling you. He looks LIKE THE SAME PERSON EVEN WHEN HE WAS A CHILD LIKE HOW? If y'all look at me, I look like a completely different person from when I was a kid. And also there's something about our baby bread that just screams vampire vibes. Like he would totally live in a castle all alone, drinking blood and having foxes as pets.

Harrenhal is a much more prominent fixture. The fortress itself is said to be haunted, a fact used to blame all sorts of strange occurrences over the years — including the fire Larys Strong (Matthew Needham) started that killed his family in season 1. Whether the curse is real isn't something House of the Dragon will necessarily answer, but Condal and Hess certainly enjoyed playing with that element to further explore Daemon.  "There's a haunted goat!" Hess eagerly reveals. So, kind of like Black Phillip from Robert Eggers' 2015 horror hit The Witch? "I mean, a little bit," she says. "We definitely were thinking of it as [The Shining's] Overlook Hotel. It's super fun in that it's atmospheric." Hess also mentions Alys Rivers, a new character this season played by Gayle Rankin (GLOW). Alys served as a wet nurse to many of the babes born at Harrenhal over the years, but like Melisandre from Game of Thrones, she courts the supernatural and no one knows her true age.  "Nobody's giving birth to a smoke baby, let's put it that way," Hess clarifies of Alys. All this is meant to bear down on Daemon in the Macbeth-ian sense when he arrives at Harrenhal. "He can't sleep. There's weird shit going on. He's not sure if it's real or if it's in his own head," Hess continues. "We just wanted to have unexplained things and then use that as a conduit to lay him open a little more than he would be in normal life."

So idk if you feel the same way but if you’ve read the book fire and blood like you might . I feel the writers destroyed the green side of the dance of dragons . It upsets me so much . I get that the book is conflicting reports and that no pov ( which is a mistake in my opinion) but I digress.! I also feel that they ruined Aegons character yet made Aemond so much more palatable. In the book he’s unhinged and crazy yet in the show he’s not now perhaps season two will change it but I’m just not holding out much hope . They already made Alicent not as much against rhaenyra as the book , they ruined Aegon , his coronation and character , made Aemond have sexual assault issues and not really wanna kill luke. Didn’t even include daeron and probably won’t in season 2 . I just wish they had actually maybe read the book and you know written it better . Guess my question is what do you think ?

I think from memory GRRM is working alongside the producers for the s2 and hoping his input was stronger, and more to the book with certain characters.

they could potentially redeem Aegon’s character (and I am optimistic in that sense) considering he will have a much larger role to play, since he is the King…

in the books the whole turning point for Aegon was brilliant and I really wished they’d showcased that in the show, but alas they did not deliver. the whole discrete conversation between him and Ser Criston, how he almost even manipulated Aegon into believing Rhaenyra would come after his family, and something snapping in him, I know for a fact TGC would’ve 100% killed that scene…

considering we have endless battles coming up, I’m hoping they showcase that protective side of Aegon more. we only got very minor details that showcased that, more so in adult!Aegon ii. like that whole dinner sequence where he defends Aemond without hesitation, he definitely learnt his lesson the first time and some might even consider that maturing but it’s a very fine detail, that can easily be missed.

I totally agree with you, they butchered a lot of characterisations and dynamics between certain characters. For instance, Nyra’s relationship with her half-siblings would’ve been so interesting to have a foundation on rather than what we saw… I think it would have made it more moving if we saw something.

as for Alicent’s character also, I mean I am not 100% against how Olivia plays her, and I don’t mind that they aged her down to be more intimate with Nyra. But she is much more cunning and cut throat in the books and I am hoping they delve into that side a bit… she’s a very cold character from time to time, and I think we deserve to see that.

these characters are flawed, and I think they tend to exaggerate that more with the Green side than Black, for obvious reasons.

Mind you, I do lean more towards Team Black, but it’s not like they’re 100% perfect either!

The key is to hold no expectations, I’m sort of just going with the flow at this point.

I like Varric, don't get me wrong, but I think they'll kill him off in an attempt to make the Solas hunt personal for Rook (presuming that's the main character). Knowing extremely little about the plot aside from what they've set up in the comics and books, I expect Varric to recruit Rook, take on a mentor style role, and then be killed because of something Solas does either early or midway into the game.

I'm happy to be proven wrong, but I hope whatever they do with his character that we're given a satisfying resolution.

What made Rhaenyra x Alicent so popular when it's very badly written and don't make sense story-wise?

To oversimplify it, and there is a lot of overlap:

A)

Because they don’t know the actual canon story. 

Some believe that because Ryan Condal and some of the show writers read Fire and Blood, they know what they are doing and what’s presented on screen is what happened in canon. (This is dependent on them not caring to engage more and/or not being people who care to think more about what they are consuming).

B)

Because wish fulfillment.

These two women in canon lore where 9 years apart in age with Alicent being the older and hated each other. Because we have:

two women hating each other and fighting for power

the use of the evil stepmother trope

we have some people think these in of themselves indicate sexist writing. A case of women fighting each other because their womenhood makes them vulnerable to competing for scarce resources that men determine for them.

And many people feel that they could have been friends if only the men around them didn’t force them into it. (Meanwhile, this was not the case at all and an extreme misunderstanding of medieval society.)

C)

Because misunderstanding feminism.

Some think that female friendships, by themselves, are enough to gainsay male aggression on a systematic level. Thus they find the relationship inspirational and ignore details or inconsistencies. 

Despite the fact that Rhaenyra and Laena Velayron had a deep friendship in the canon lore. Maybe even a romantic connection. They connected after Laena and Daemon came back from Pentos to birth her last child. Gyldayn writes that:

Whilst Princess Rhaenyra misliked her stepmother, Queen Alicent, she [Rhaenyra] became fond and more than fond of her good-sister Lady Laena. With Driftmark and Dragonstone so close, Daemon and Laena oft visited with the princess, and her with them. Many a time they flew together on their dragons, and the princess’s she-dragon Syrax produced several clutches of eggs. In 118 AC, with the blessing of King Viserys, Rhaenyra announced the betrothal of her two eldest sons to the daughters of Prince Daemon and Lady Laena. Jacaerys was four and Lucerys three, the girls two. And in 119 AC, when Laena found she was with child again, Rhaenyra flew to Driftmark to attend her during the birth.

(Fire and Blood; A Question of Succession)

This is our canon female friendship of the Dance, which makes so much more sense with their shared personality trait -- daring -- and genuine love for dragonriding. 

I do not want to say that the people who do ship Rhaenyra and Alicent -- or the actors who played them who acted as if these two characters did have some sort of pseudo-romance -- are all brainless. I mean to say that some don’t bother to actually get to know, analyze, or read between the lines of the text for the sake of shipping and superficial enjoyment from seeing two women share intimacy where before, in the canon, they were enemies since Rhaenyra was 10.

They see women-as-enemies as unrealistic or simplistic when the story and context is anything but. If anything, the story shows us the multiplicity of women...you know because they are human. Who want power and still be flawed (Rhaenyra) or evil (Alicent). 

Basically, they think that making a saint or pacifying women is feminism. When it’s actually pedestalizing them and making men “natural” aggressors. And making women into passion-less, ambitious-less pawns for men to use AND assigning their worth to how and when they have sex.

This idea of men-evil-and-women-helpless/pacifists is prevalent in our current society (consider this POST by @rhaenyragendereuphoria).

D) 

Because some are very anti-intellectual and anti-feminism. Misgoynists.

They hate that their idea of femininity is being criticized. This ideal of women-want-power instead of simply being a good wife, mother, “soft”, etc.

E)

Because there are those who genuinely just find both Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke are very attractive and see the show as just something to be apart of the zeitgeist of. 

They don’t want to engage any deeper than that. 

Some might feel “attacked” and dig in their heels and try to find justification to keep shipping the two. Pride then may come into it.

F)

Because performative activism, capitalism and marketing.

I don't know, could just be me, but it's always a weird take to see, on Twitter mostly because where else, seeing people say, whenever others enjoy Alicent's and Rhaenyra's dynamic in the show, "House of the Dragon is ruined because they switched the ages of Alicent and Rhaenyra from the books, and added a romantic subtext" and do all these things from saying "book accuracy!" to bashing Olivia Cooke's acting. They want it to be the older woman hating on the younger girl so bad, but refuse to see the misogyny, and other levels of creepiness, behind that trope. GRRM already has done that trope, and everyone hated it, so why would you want that anymore? Like, to me, it feels like a much interesting story to see two girls who had a homoerotic, or maybe even romantic relationship (depends on how you see it) with one another before the world around them tore them apart, making them the enemy with one another.

And using that take to hate on Olivia just because she plays a character you don't like? Touch some grass, please. I haven't read the books, but isn't it also recounts from third or so persons point of view rather than the actual characters of the Dance themselves? Being said, I wouldn't go out of my way to scream "book accuracy" about every little detail knowing that---but some in the fandom pick and choose what to take with a grain of salt, what not too sooo---

I actually completed better sketches and drawings today, then decided to do a digital version. I couldn’t be bothered to shade the digital version, but I’ll go back to it eventually.

Anyway, undercut of the AU is underneath.

So Jesse and Ivor swap places; Jesse becoming part of the Order, and Ivor just being a regular guy.

Jesse was found by the Order at a young age (around the age of 7), and was cared for by the Order. He officially joined the Order a short time later, as the adults quickly learned that the child was a prodigy in Potionology/Brewing. The child acted as a Healer and often had the right potion for the right job.

A year after joining, the Ender Dragon was defeated. Jesse wasn’t allowed to follow into The End, so he didn’t know the command block was used.

The Order split up, but decided they’d still share custody of Jesse. So, every month Jesse was passed on from one Order member to the next. This cycle only happened twice. By Soren’s second time caring for the boy, he became overwhelmed by the idea that the public might find out about the command block. He then made the decision to give the command block to Jesse, which was his first mistake. Jesse managed to figure out that the cammond block was used against the Ender Dragon and started asking Soren questions. So, in response, Soren did what a logical mildly-unstable man would do… he took Jesse to the Farlands and left him there, then lied and said the child disappeared with the command block. This is what caused the Order to actually fall apart. Magnus and Ellegaard started blaming each other for the child’s behaviour, Gabriel felt the need to blame himsef but did his best to push the problem to the side, and Soren hid himself away to keep that extra secret hidden.

The spiteful 8-year-old arc begins, spiraling into the edgy teenager that wants to fight back against the word arc.

Meanwhile, Ivor is a lovable old man that mainly looks after Axel and Olivia. This man may seem like a grumpy old guy that spends his days brewing or reading, but he has a soft spot for teenagers that are just as quirky as him.

Ivor has a lot of kids; Olivia and Axel, Petra when she comes around, and the Ocelots. Petra came eventually around to the idea, since she’s occasionally popping in to see Olivia and Axel. The Ocelots were claimed as his children at a previous Building Competition. Aiden and Gill especially like Ivor, though Aiden doesn’t like to show it that much.

Anyway, Ivor is basically the main character, and his goal is to adopt a new child that desperately needs love.

Everything plays out normally, but with Ivor as the supervising adult.

I like to think that everything’s reasonably chill between the Ocelots and Axel & Olivia, due to Ivor, but they still have their tensions. I’m instead going to incorporate both teams into the story for the sake of it.

Ivor heads out into the woods just before Endercon, wanting to collect a few spider eyes for potions, and encounters Petra. She tells him about the deal and such, and into Endercon they go.

They get to Endercon and find the two teams chatting about the winner’s build. Ivor and Petra head into the alley, but Aiden follows in due to curiosity. Jesse shows up, Ivor and Aiden a bit taken aback that its a child wanting this Wither Skull. They get scammed, Jesse disappears, and Endercon search ensues.

They find the basement and the Wither concoction, and Jesse enters which causes them to scatter. Ivor then pulls an “I’m sorry I got lost on my way to the bathroom”, allowing the other children to escape.

Lmao, Gabriel confrontation time. Instead of hiding in the crowd, Jesse instead used backstage shenanigans to get into the roof. He speaks from above, taunting Gabriel, before jumping down to reveal himself. Of course, Gabriel doesn’t understand who this is straight away, but realises a bit too late. Witherstorm is released.

Petra is of course chosen to be rescued, because Ivor will choose his child over some guy any day.

Jesse’s name isn’t mentioned whatsoever until the gang find the Old Temple and original story.

Ellegaard and Magnus are extra bitter towards each other.

Ivor and Petra fight a Jesse and loses to him miserably, even with back up.

Soren is mildly terrified of a bunch of teenagers and their dad rocking up to his base in The End. He isn’t really too fond of company this time, as he feels constant guilt and hate for himself for the choices that he made.

The children decide that Ivor is too old to set of the Formidabomb, so Aiden is volunteered as tribute.

Neither Magnus or Ellegaard are sacrificed, because my thinking is “more people so less likely to get smacked.” Both live, as Aiden was given makeshift armour by Ivor, who apparey had stolen resources.

Jesse shows up to the gang’s shelter. Axel and Aiden immediately start pointing fingers at the child, much to Ivor’s dismay. Also, when the Order come out, they don’t know who they’re looking at until Maya mentions that Jesse was the one that soawned the Witherstorm.

Ellegaard and Magnus immediately start hassling the boy with questions, but when asked “Why did you gave the command block?”, Jesse immediately tossed that question to Soren. A bit of an arguement happens, but it is revealed that Soren abandoned Jesse.

Ellegaard stays with Petra in the shelter to try and help. Axel, Magnus, Aiden and Gill go to distract the Witherstorm. The rest go to the Farlands with Jesse to get the failsafe.

Reuben exists, he’s just the guard pig at Jesse’s lab.

The truth about the Order is revealed.

Ivor has a heart-to-heart moment with Jesse. He offers that, when this is all over, Jesse could come back with them and have a new start. Jesse does like the idea, but is unsure.

The children don’t let Ivor fight this fight against the Witherstorm, so its the teenagers (including Jesse) against the Witherstorm. Jesse and Gill end up inside the thing, because more Gill content.

Witherstorm dies, nobody important dies.

New Order of the Stone is formed by the teenagers, and Jesse takes Ivor’s offer to come join him and his other children in a brand new start.

And that is the first half of Season 1.

I haven’t thought any further ahead about the AU, but I am open to ideas.

Who's your favorite character? What draws you to them?

My initial response is Aemond Targaryen (surprise, surprise). The book and show portrayal have some similarities, but I really loved how Leo Ashton and Ewan Mitchell’s characterization. There was something relating to how Leo carried himself, Aemond just weary but ready to defend Aegon, how he was ridiculed. You have this sense of relief when he finally claims Vhagar that you forget the implications until that group of cunt ass kids rallied against him. Then you see that want for revenge, how it shapes and molds him into this man that is just...

Anyway, after him it would Ser Criston Cole, as this man is so damn petty with his hatred it halted his aging and I’m here for it.  

What's your favorite episode of the season?

I loved the despair of episode 8, where we finally got to see the key players for what was to come. The build up, the tension that lead to this brief moment of serenity and then... the dinner scene, where it just went downhill so fucking fast. 

What is your favorite line from the season?

I have two. The first belongs to Daemon: “You cannot live your life in fear, or you will forsake the best parts of it.”

And second is to Jerrel Bracken, and it makes me giggle: “The princess has a dragon, you dumb cunt.” 

Which actor's portrayal is your favorite?

Of course the obvious answer is Ewan Mitchell. I binged everything he has been in and really enjoy that even though he had similar mannerisms used in each roll, he seems to adjust to fit whatever character he is playing and I think it’s fucking brilliant.

Matt Smith plays a cunt like no other. As much as Daemon makes my skin crawl, I do enjoy watching him. 

Olivia Cooke. 💜 Watching Alicent’s transition from the tepid daddy’s girl to girlboss was amazing. She believed in her convictions and squared off to Otto, to her husband, and we saw glimpses of how she played the Game of Thrones, and I really loved it. 

Which character would you most want to be stuck on a deserted island with?

I mean...

But for real, probably Ser Criston as he seems low key a more practical option, as I could trust him to be able to scrounge for food, kill whatever wild hog might attack, things like that.

I would love more insight on Arryk and Erryk OR, since they kept him alive, if Ser Harrold Westerling came back in a blaze of glory, that’d be nifty. 

Who's character arc are you most interested to see continued, for better or worse?

May the gods pity me, but Aemond. I am curious their interpretation of his story and am super excited to see it unfold. 

Who's your most anticipated new character of Season 2?

Cregan Stark, but this is mostly because of my Mushroom theory of him, but I already know HBO is a bunch of cowards and would never. And Nettles 💜 I really hope they show how she gets her dragon.

Which is your favorite dragons of the ones we saw?

Vhagar. 

I hate that we missed out on some Fire & Blood bonding between Aemond and this she-dragon, but I really loved how they showed the sentient side when she was bonded to Laena. It was beautiful and heartbreaking 💜

What's your favorite relationship from this season? (romantic, platonic, antagonistic- whichever!)

I loved Rhaenyra and Harwin Strong. I really loved the snippets of him knitted throughout, his admiration for Rhaenyra just as she was. There was also so much in the scene after she gave birth, how he was quick to help in any he could, just to be able to touch her, to be there for her. And when he held Joffrey?

Like, goddamn, I love this man so much 😭

Honestly maybe Emma and Olivia should step down so that more capable and flexible actresses can come on the show, if the rumors about their fussiness to the scripts are true, all because of that ship that makes zero sense in the Dance. If they agreed to stay maybe its because they realised they have way more to lose and so many haters in the fandom that would readily celebrate their exit. Majority of team black fans dislike their takes actually. They have been fan-casting different actresses for the longest time.

I mean, let me get at the head of that line.

Look, don't get it twisted, I've always maintained that Olivia Cooke is both an amazing actress and very beautiful - I remember being smitten from the first moment she showed up on "Bates Motel" ... even with the oxygen tank.

I just think that she isn't mature enough, and neither is most of the cast, to carry a large tent pole show like this.

If you remember, "Game of Thrones" was helmed by a core cast of seasoned British actors that had done a ton of work and involved in large projects. And they were supported by great and legendary character actors that had been doing genre since Classic Era "Doctor Who" with Tom Baker. They had a bunch of young actors, but they weren't the stars and they weren't expected to carry the narrative. Emilia Clarke and Kit Harrington were not the whole show. So if they didn't work out there was a ton of better actors to rely upon.

"House of the Dragon" is not built on a foundation of seasoned veteran actors and legendary character actors who had been classically trained. They're relatively young actors in age or contemporary with Kit Harrington and Emilia Clarke. Most of the cast has never done anything this big before, and if they had, they weren't relied upon to carry the show alone.

The problem remains that Olivia Cooke and Emma D'Arcy aren't mature nor interested enough to carry a big show like this. They're in it for themselves, for awards, and to fuck around. They don't care about press, representing the show, or even being professionals. They don't understand the show, they don't understand the fandom, and they don't take any of it seriously. They want the characters they play to bend to their personalities, not them transform into and embody the characters.

The idea of making Alicent a closeted Lesbian and Rhaenyra seeing herself as genderless just proves that they're not mature enough to take on these projects ... and maybe they never will be.

Olivia Cooke is very talented and D'Arcy is mid as fuck ... but they're not ready for the grown up responsibility that it takes to be the faces and ambassadors of a huge genre show like this.

To me, I'd get veteran genre actresses who have been here before to take these roles on. Actresses that are proven talent, not cast because the showrunner's wife likes Cooke's bimbo feminist post on Instagram and they wanted to cast a "Non-Binary" actress for headlines and to make a statement.

I'd get someone like Michelle Dockery or Jessica De Gouw to play Alicent.

And I'd get Jodie Comer or Rebecca Ferguson to play Rhaenyra.

seasoned and talented actresses that have been part of large shows and franchises that know how to act like professionals and won't run their mouths and annoy or, worse, piss off your core audience.
