#detective conan #case closed #amv #my amvs #eye strain #heiji hattori #harley hartwell #conan edogawa #shinichi kudo #funimation english dub script #video #happy two-year anniversary to 'no thoughts just heiji hattori'!#while it's not my first amv (it's maybe my... fifth?)#it was the first one i made with davinci resolve and the amv that really got me into editing amvs for real #it's the amv that made me believe i could make amvs 🥺#and in remastering it i deeply understood how ambitious it was! i thought i did a lot of audio mixing for 'messed up'#but that's not even close to all the audio mixing i did here--cannot believe that i did all this for my first big amv project #it took about 20 hours *just* to remaster!#which is something i've been meaning to do for a while now so i'm very happy to finally share the results!#to make this a 'remaster' and not a 'redo' the only changes i tried to make were to the source footage and audio #video now uses almost entirely hd remastered footage from my blu-rays or netflix rather than my dvds #but oh gosh was it *hard* not to touch anything else! i'd do so many things differently now #but this video will always be really special to me (and i can't believe i did it at all tbh!)#i hope seeing it in hd is fun too! i'm so blown away by all the love this vid's gotten #and that it helped increase interest in funi's old english dub is amazing and 100% what i was trying to do with it!#thank you everyone for all the support <333 i wouldn't be the video editor i am today without this vid or your encouragement for it <3333 #like the original the sources used are mostly from what funi dubbed (but mixed in hd by me!): eps 48-49 57-58 77-78 117 and 118 and movie 3 #but i also used episodes 141-142 174 189 239 263 277 291 293 345 479 491 517 and 522 #and ova 3 and tv special 6 (episode one) and movies 10 and 13 and ops 27 31 and 33 and the funi 5.2 dvd blooper for the one line lol #i'm sorry i've been so absent lately! i hope to be more active now... and there are 2 completely done amvs that i'm just waiting to post...

Okay I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure Leo has the most episodes that are mainly focused on him, which is interesting

This was a very interesting question and I wondered if that was the case! So I went and tried to take a look.

What I found going in is that Leo seems to be in the most non-Ensemble episodes, and the episodes that focus on him stand out more since they tend to not have the rest of the cast (as in, Hueso stands in as his other focused character, rather than one of Leo’s family members like most everyone else gets.)

Leo’s focused episodes also tend to have the entire Ensemble as supporting characters, again rather than the one or two other main characters that his bros and April tend to get. What is most notable I think is that while other characters have just about as much focused episodes, Leo’s (and Donnie’s) in particular seem to focus on their personal struggles more rather than just an outside conflict, so they stand out more than others in that way too.

Honestly going through the episodes it’s pretty amazing to see how overall even things are? Like even if some got more focus than others, the range is under 8 points for the four bros, which is nice to see.

Below is a messy and hard to read culmination of my research which undoubtedly contains mistakes here and there. Fair warning that this is based on my own memory and of episode synopsis and the like, and I didn’t include the movie but that one is pretty obvious. It’s also fairly subjective what one may consider to be a “focus” or not. I tried to take into account what happens within the episodes, so hopefully this is fairly accurate? Beware it’s long so I’ll put it under a read more-

Notes to take into account before the scores-

Full Focus means that a lot of time is spent with the character and they’re one of the “focuses” of the episode outside of an ensemble way. Example of this is Minotaur Maze which is both a Leo and Ensemble episode, but Leo gets the Full Focus while Ensemble in this instance gets-

Partial Focus just means that the characters are present in the episode and have enough focus put on them to differentiate them from the Ensemble. They have a notable part in the episode but it is not about them, and this can even include when they are directly involved in the conflict. And example of this is Donnie’s Gifts which is an Ensemble and Donnie episode where despite Donnie being the driving force, Ensemble gets the Full Focus and Donnie gets Partial Focus but-

Main Character is the scoring which takes into account whether the episode centers around a specific character or characters. Note than even if a character has Full Focus, it’s possible that they’re not the Main Character, and even if the character has Partial Focus, they can still be the Main Character. Main Character scoring does not add into how I calculated the-

Overall Score - aka the culmination of both the Full and Partial Focuses. Full Focus gets 3 points, and Partial Focus gets 2s.

*’s (it’s not very easy to decipher what asterisk leads to what, sorry):

*1: Mascot Melee is pretty ensemble, but Raph does quite a bit in it

*2: Stuck on You is majorly ensemble but Raph is still focused on quite a bit

*3: Hot Soup: The Game has ensemble qualities, but is mainly Mikey and Casey Sr

*4: You Got Served can arguably be a 2 as well since major focus is also on Hueso

*5: Turtle-dega Nights: The Ballad of the Rat Man can arguably be considered more of a Donnie and Splinter episode so Mikey will get a 2 here

*6: Repairin’ the Baron - same as above sorta. All three of Mikey Raph and Baron have big roles to play in this episode but as they share them with each other, it’s arguable whether these 3s should be 2 1/2s.

*7: The Hidden City Job - despite Leo being the only main character really present, the main focus is more on Hueso and his brother

*8: Finale can be considered high for both Raph (he had a lot of great focus) Casey Sr. (she was a major part of the finale AND we learn her name) and especially Splinter (literally everything he did tbh)

Main findings for this are than Raph and ESPECIALLY Mikey deserve more episodes tbh. I hope I didn’t miss any episodes, but it was a bit difficult to keep track of everything haha.

so i've been having a hard time with my ✨depression✨ the last few days and i want to share something that may help someone? it helps me? and that's: go to bed earlier. don't stay up past 10 - 9:30 if you can help it. im so serious. it's the literal depression witching hour past 10 if you stay up too late and!! there's a scientific reason for it. (something about cortisol levels idk my therapist explained it to me once but point remains: you get sadder at night) drink some chamomile tea if that's your jam, take a bath, take some melatonin drops, ANYTHING you can do to try and sleep earlier. if you can't sleep that early (like me), simply lie in bed with a cozy blanket and read a book. or watch a familiar, uncomplicated sitcom. turn off the phone (read: social media). don't engage in anything that's upsetting. and i promise you the world will feel better.

#i say this at nearly 11 pm my time but that's because i took a bath and drank chamomile tea when i started to spiral an hour ago #exactly at 10 pm on the dot!!#and now i'm about to lay in bed with some calming music #i'm serious it helps. not only do you end up getting a little more rest #but nothing can trigger you deeper into the emotional pit of despair that you're already in lol #sam rambles

well as a projector enjoyer i think ur fav turtle has ur phobias u wanna give them by law

as for me, i project my trypanophobia and fear of clowns onto raph LMAO

as for like... stuff beyond projection and like for waht i maybe think about from the show/movie,, i think they each have their own specific fear/things that freak them out, many things, as is normal. but nothing thats like severe enough to name specifically?

just like... normal discomfort around alot of specific things, each their own... i cant reallty think of any specific things

as for severe phobias, other than mikey being scared of paranormal stuff, donnie and beach balls, and raph and rabbits/puppets, im unsure if i headcanon anything specific like that outside of any like.. self-indulgence

NO PIERCER HAS EVER HELD ME DOWN AND FORCED ME TO GET A SEPTUM #oversharing o'clock but its ok im comfortable talking abt it tbh #i actually took a needle for the first time in 10+ years in 2022 i am so proud of myself #conciously i mean. i used to have to be put under to do blood tests #but piercings and tattoos are way different. first of al the needle goes through instead of in / only pierce skin #idk #i can talk about this for hours actually #its a big part of my life #and its not like a normal amount of fear btw #i have blacked out and punched doctors and hid under tables and ran out of doctors offices screaming. and repressed almost all those memori #anwayy #asks!
