A person going by the name Tash (lpevhybrid) just emailed me some new pictures from a visit they had at the Pokémon Center NY store in June 2003! Really amazing stuff! I’m totally in love with the photos of the plush “Giants” and the animatronics!

God wait if Legends Z-A is the Hausmann Renovation that period of time does include the Second French Empire
Meaning not only might we get Pokémon Napoleon III, a character in the series might be descended from Pokémon Napoleon III, and Pokémon Napoleon III might be a bad guy

Pearl Insignia 27.6.22
Ingo makes it back to the future only to find that what he's looking for isn't there. Emmet is no longer at the subway or Nimbasa city. His home station is no more.
Devastated, he goes back to Sinnoh, determined to live out his life fulfilling his ancient duty there. It is the only thing he has left now after all of both worlds he's lost, and he feels no small amount of shame over abandoning it in the past for what turned out to be nothing.
The all the sneasels of the region recognized who Ingo was immediately, the sneasel breeders realized it about five minutes later when he pulled out the Hisuian sneasel eggs he had on him. It's impossible to get a sneasel in Sinnoh now without either directly or indirectly going through him.
Emmet has changed his name and moved to Sinnoh to try get away from everything. When he decided to get a sneasel to add to his team, the last thing he was expecting was to run across his clearly distraught brother dressed all in pink.
• Ingo did not check with the Depot Agents or Elesa. The only thing he remembers is the man in white. Once he got back to their apartment and the subway he was able to put together that this is where he and the man in white lived, and that the man in white wasn't there anymore. Once he figured out that he left.

Feb 6th: Dear Diary, Mew gave birth… Pokemon Birthdays and the art of Media History
It’s February 6th, a day like any other, right? WRONG! On this day, a momentous event occurred in the world of Pokémon. On this day, the world was blessed with the birth of one of the most powerful and iconic creatures of all time: Mewtwo. That’s right, folks. February 6th is the day Mew finally pushed Mewtwo out into the world, after what was probably a pretty intense nine months (let’s just…

Oh that’s ridiculously cute while Ingo is freaking out over now being the trainer to whats supposed to be extinct type of Pokémon Chandeleur it’s just like “free daughter I’m OK with this”
lmao Ingo's like, calling historians to inquire about extinct Zorua and their behaviors and shit while trying to pretend that he didn't just find one in his subway, meanwhile Chandelure is gently holding Akari in her lamp twigs and giving Ingo a Stare. She's ours now Ingo. You better not let some grubby conservationist take her away. This Is My Protégée Ingo.
Anyways Ingo won't be able to stop people posting the "cute new station mascot!" pictures of Akari from when she was riding the train. Eventually he's gonna have to bat people away with a stick. Like, unfortunately, no I cannot give the extinct Zorua to you, sorry, my Chandelure is attached. Do you want her to eat your soul as vengeance for stealing her child? No I didn't think you would. Good day to you, sir.
Ingo doesn't really know yet that Akari is like. A Human Soul. When he finds out this is a child who REMEMBERS being a human child he's going to have a brief crisis (DOES SHE REMEMBER HOW SHE DIED OH NO) and then adopt her himself. Chandelure has no issues with this, she's cool with coparenting. She'll handle the ghostly stuff and Ingo can handle the icky Human Sensibilities stuff.

After Pokémon Legends Z-A was announced yesterday, I did some cursory digging into French history to figure out what part of it the game might be based on.
(This is based on a quick reading, I am not a historian so I apologise for anything I misinterpreted, left out, or got wrong)
Now, we already know Lumiose City is based on Paris. The general architecture is similar, Prism Tower is based on the Eiffel Tower, and Lumiose Museum is based on the Louvre (though in X and Y it looks more like the UNESCO HQ).
The trailer mentions the "Lumiose Redevelopment Plan". Based on this, it's likely that the goal of the game is to build Lumiose City up to, or at least close to, how it looks in X and Y, similar to how Legends Arceus was about getting the Pokéball rolling on humanity's understanding of Pokémon.
If so, we have a possible historical event we can point to as it's basis: Georges-Eugène Haussmann's renovation of Paris under the instruction of Napoleon III.
The renovation started in 1853, and Haussman's involvement ended at the start of 1870 when he was effectively fired by the Emperor. The work started by Haussmann would be finished over the course of the next 50 years without his involvement.
Most notably, however, Napoleon III's reign also ended in 1870. He was pressured into declaring war on Prussia in 1866, got curb-stomped and captured in Sedan in 1870, and was ousted in absentia.
Assuming the game is based on Haussmann's renovation and time frame is similar, the end of Pokémon Legends Z-A could potentially involve the deposition of the Emperor of Kalos.

Reader takes post Hisui Ingo (and possible Emmet) to Sinnoh where he takes them to Lady Sneaslers cave, Ingo would probably find her fossil and be sad until Reader reminds him that they can now bring back well preserved fossils. Que Ingo and Ladys reunion (headcanon that fossils retain their memories cos its cute)
It took quite some time for Ingo to readjust to the present, considering at least five whole years have passed since he got thrown back in time...lost in the ancient region of Hisui.
You've been stuck there too, but eventually you made a deal with Arceus after "seeking out all Pokémon" as requested and capturing it:
If you released your cherished team back into the wild, it'll let you both go home. Of course, that wasn't an easy sacrifice to make, though after bidding farewell to the Pokémon that helped you save Hisui--and the world as a whole--Arceus did fulfill its end of the bargain.
It dropped you and Ingo off into a familiar underground subway, where Emmet so-happened to be patrolling alone at that same time.
He nearly passed out upon seeing that you both finally back home, especially his older twin.
Fortunately, he remembered everything about him the second they met eyes....leading to the brothers hugging and sobbing for a solid ten minutes together. You simply stood on the sidelines as Chandelure and Eelektross gave their trainers space and celebrated your return.
After the media caught wind of the good news, life pretty much resumed as normal--except the brothers put a temporary halt on their battle subway operations as you suggested a vacation to Sinnoh. Obviously Ingo's mind was still foggy, so he wasn't quite fit to resume any dual battles yet.
He did, however, wish to show Emmet what he learned of this region based on his experiences in Hisui--especially Mt. Coronet. He took you both to the cavern that used to be his warden post.
"I gotta admit, you're turning into quite the historian." Emmet remarked, looking all around as the three of you ventured further into the cave. Only your flashlight shined the path forward. "You were just..guarding this so-called "Noble Pokémon" from danger?"
"Indeed. That's exactly it!" Ingo explained with much vigor. "As warden, it was my duty to ensure Lady Sneasler's territory was protected and that offerings were delivered to her from time to time. Of course, I didn't think Pearl Clan would ever trust a stranger like myself. But it ended up being a wise decision on their part."
Emmet simply muttered an "ahh" in surprise, nodding his head as you and him continued listening to the older twin's story. He went on to discuss the baby Sneasels that were under Sneasler's care, saying they were cared for in this very cave and that you were nearing her den.
However, you three would soon happen upon a rather...unfortunate sight. But neither of you knew it yet until Ingo abruptly stopped in his tracks, having found something he wishes he could unsee.
"...oh, so...that's all there is now...." His voice turned flat.
"Ingo? What's wrong?" Emmet asked in worry.
"I think I know.." You frowned slightly, standing beside Ingo and flicking on your flashlight, revealing bones embedded into the dirt of the den.
But they weren't just any regular old bones scattered everywhere...
They made up the fossil of a certain Sneasler.
"..of course, h-how could I forgotten? She's gone.." Ingo bowed his head in mourning, feeling the ache in his heart growing as the reality of this discovery hit him hard. But even with the bill of his hat casting a shadow over his eyes, you and Emmet could see his lips tremble, tears sliding down both cheeks.
"M-My Lady..."
Hearing his voice break was something neither of you expected, but of course....you understood why.
This had to be a difficult thing to confront, knowing that the Noble he formed such a close bond with, the one who helped him in that lost and unfamiliar distant past...was now extinct.
There will never be another Sneasler like her again.
The only proof of her existence was kept within a fossil-
'Wait...her fossil...'
You suddenly remembered something extremely crucial, and smiled, knowing exactly how to help Ingo in his moment of despair. So you gently put a hand on his shoulder, trying to get his attention. "Hey, Ing-"
"I never even thought about what became of her until now.." He put his hand over yours, voice still trembling, as he believed you were only trying to comfort him. "We left so suddenly and...god, she must have been so confused. Did she think we abandoned her? Did she live out the rest of her days in anger or sorrow? Oh how I...I-I just wish I could see her one last time..."
"We can make that happen, Ingo."
"..huh?" Blinking, he stared at you with puffy eyes, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "What do you mean? We can't go back-"
"We've got the technology to revive fossils, remember?" You reminded him, seeing his expression shift for a moment. And then recollection seemed to flash in his eyes.
"Ahah..that's right. I-I must have forgotten..." He chuckled softly, wiping away his tears as he finally calmed down. "Is it possible to fully restore her?"
"I believe so! Her fossil looks verrrry well-preserved!" Emmet nodded, happy to see his brother's smile again. "We must dig this up post haste! It'd be an honor to meet this "Lady Sneasler"."
"Then it's decided, gentlemen." You grinned, clapping your hands together. "Let's get to digging!"
.........
The excavation of Lady Sneasler's fossil went off without a hitch, and you wasted no time heading to Oreburgh's Mining Museum afterwards.
The scientist in charge of reviving fossils was initially taken aback by the odd skeleton piece you gave him, though he accepted it nonetheless and insisted you three waited outside until the process was complete.
Yet his words left Ingo nervous as he paced back and forth in front of the museum sign. He kept muttering train-related facts under his breath, trying to keep calm. But he couldn't help wondering if something could go wrong.
What if it's impossible? What if she's brought back wrong or without any memory of who he was?
Would she be terrified of the sudden changes that modern society brought and go berserk??
Did..any Fossil Pokémon feel that way when they were first revived?
Fortunately, as quickly as these concerns descended upon him...they were just as quick to leave when he heard a familiar cry and footsteps growing louder. And he turned in astonishment to see who came running out of the museum, a frantic scientist in-tow.
Both you and Emmet looked on, the latter surprised to see it was a tall Sneasel-like Pokémon with purple fur jogging over to you all. But you had a huge smile on your face, knowing very well that's the Noble you hoped to see again. She looked the same as she did all those years ago.
"I'm sorry!! I'm sorry!! I-It ran out the second I brought it back to life!!" He kept shouting.
"Halt! There's no need to proceed further!" Emmet barked, putting his hand up to stop him in his tracks. "Thank you for your services. We'll take care of her from here."
"...a-ah yes, of course! Sorry." Coughing nervously, the scientist smoothed out his ruffled lab coat, before heading back inside the museum.
"Sneas?" While initially confused at Emmet's presence, Lady Sneasler perked up at Ingo's voice as he approached her.
"My Lady..."
For a moment, she looked down at the man, at first not recognizing him outside of his tattered Pearl Clan garb. But after sniffing him a few times, the usually stoic Pokémon smiled warmly and ruffled his head gently. "Snea!"
"O-Oh, thank Arceus...you remember..!!" He beamed, although her mood suddenly switched as she huffed, before stepping back and crossing her arms, foot tapping with impatience.
The look in her eye told Ingo "you owe me an explanation big time".
But before he could speak up, you intervened, knowing it was really your fault that they never got to properly say goodbye to each other. So you explained everything to her, and she seemed to understand, given how her facial features gradually softened.
After nodding her head in respect, she turned back to her warden, embracing him in an act of forgiveness. At first he was in shock, though he returned the hug seconds later, tears of happiness streaking down his cheeks this time.
He'll worry about how Lady Sneasler will adapt to this new world later on...but for now he just wanted to take in this moment.
You and Emmet just looked on, relieved to see the pair reunited after being thrown timelines apart.
"Awh, that is verrrrry touching." He clasped his hands together with a grin. "I wonder how she'd fair in batt--ough!!"
Elbowing him in the gut, you huffed in annoyance. "Not the time, Em."
"..r-right, sorry!"

So, I’m a huge fan of the idea of the streamer AU, so I can imagine the amount of shenanigans the reader gets into while trying to find a way home. Like the reader squealing over a colony of cute spheals (they are fricking adorable in the game, have you seen the one cutscene with Adaman?) and the reader revealing to have caught a whole army of them and showing them in the background while many people watching their stream are like facepalming.
Or the reader returning to Jublife with an army of cute Pokémon following them, like Spheals, Eevees, fluffy Growlithes, etc. (kinda reminds me of this whole Pikachu army parade I saw in YouTube before)
Or the reader streaming about cute Pokémon chasing them and happily playing around….and then cue the reader on the run from angry terrifying Pokémon.
Tumblr media
The streamer Au is one dear to my heart, even if I haven’t gotten to write a lot about it. Its such a fun idea though.
The idea of you can’t communicate really with the future, but you can still just stream??
Imagine explaining that.
“Yeah, God said I have to find every pokemon here or I can’t go home :(“
Depending on the person, you could have so many shenanigans. Especially since you and Ingo are the only ones who know how to communicate with pokemon, and properly train and raise then.
Everyone in the future watching in humor or horror how you are treated for acting normal around pokemon. How you act is like an average trainer, when others in the villages would be appalled you happily collect pokemon.
Like, just imagine walking into a village with an army of eeveelutions. Something so normal, has people turning heads.
Your chat is going wild at the sight.
Especially when they see Sylveon. A pokemon that should not exist at that point in time in Hisui. How the fuck did you get one.
Either finding an Eevee in a time distortion with a fairy move, it just finding a Sylveon outright. You have historians screaming and yelling in your chat.
And the Alpha Pokemon have historians and scientists tuning into your streams, all foaming at the mouth at a real hands on view of Alpha pokemon.
“This is amazing footage! Truly nothing like it!”
“Sir, the pokemon just tossed the streamer into a wall.”
“They seem fine!”
You regularly give people heart attacks. Especially your friends and family who are stuck watching you, unable to help.
Barry sees how Kamado treats you, and books it to Rowans house.
Rowan meanwhile feels a sense of impending doom.
Cynthia is a curious one, incredibly curious about Volo. They resemblances is uncanny. One of her coworkers even joked she may as well be his reincarnation.
Imagine her horror when she sees Volo’s betrayal. She is so glad Cyrus is not here to mock her.
Meanwhile you have almost all of Gear station tuning into your stream after you drop the bomb that you met a guy named Ingo, who you think might be the missing Subway Boss. Emmet is strangling his computer as we speak trying to get you to show him.
“Yeah, he was really nice. Its a shame he lost his memory, but he talks about trains a lot.”
Gear Station is screaming.

We will truly never know, and it is a great historical shame, if Pokémon Go could fix him. Historians and literary critics hotly debate this issue, but the truth will always elude us.
Wonder which pokemon would have been his favorite…

Pokémon Center NY Plushie “Giants”
In November 2001, the Pokémon Center NY opened with a wide variety of products from bandanas to plushies. One collection of plushies that has become exceedingly sought-after in the 20+ years since, is what collectors sometimes refer to as the plush “Giants”. This term can apply to any of the large, 1:1 size, fuzzy TOMY plushies, including Lugia, Celebi, Suicune, Raikou, Entei, Tyranitar, Lapras, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Chikorita, Togepi, Marill, Pichu, Pikachu, and Meowth.
• The ones that are the most sought after are Suicune, Raikou, Entei, Tyranitar, Lapras, and Lugia
• Lugia had a small Pikachu plush riding on its back, in reference to the second Pokémon film. These days, it’s very difficult to find a Lugia “Giant” with that Pikachu plush still attached.
• The Pokémon Center NY version of the Tyranitar “Giant” has a funny manufacturing error— it’s eyes are sewn in upside down!
• Today, some of these plushies can go for thousands of US dollars online.
• My friend, @mewisme700 from Tiktok, once found a post online from someone who found a Raikou “Giant” in the trash. Unfortunately, this user didn’t realize what they had found and left it in the trash… This still haunts both of us to this day.

At some point after stopping Volo and trying to work things out with him, you’ve been sent back to modern-day Sinnoh. You don’t remember a single thing of your time in Hisui, but he does. By Arceus’ blessing, he’s been given another chance with you, after waiting for all this time. No warnings. GN!reader. Time-traveling/immortal!Volo. The typical slightly obsessive behavior. Implied past relationship.
❥ Throughout your life, you’ve always spent a lot of your time at museums, libraries, and galleries. It’s only natural, then, that you’re a young history professor at Eterna University. You were in the right place at the right time for the position. Not to mention, in your graduate years, you had also written a particularly riveting theory about the existence of Dialga and Palkia’s Origin Formes. That had caused a stir for quite a few months, as you’d even somehow had the artifacts necessary for their transformation.
❥ You didn’t know how you’d come to possess them—the Adamant Crystal and Lustrous Globe, later named so by other historians. After a strange week of which you’d remembered nothing, as though you’d simply vanished then reappeared, you’d found them in a chest of old belongings of yours, supposedly from your childhood. The old thing had been tucked back in your closet, and in a fit of your cleaning, you’d unearthed it. It hadn’t been hard for you to see the connection between the newly discovered artifacts and the well-known Adamant and Lustrous Orbs, and so, you’d worked to unravel their purpose.
❥ They’re sitting on display at the Eterna Historical Museum, and even though you’re proud of your contribution, in the back of your mind, you’re concerned about why you, of all people, should have found them. You try not to think about it too much (especially how they’ve been the catalyst for your career or how you feel drawn to them, somehow, or how you’d found them after that peculiar week), and just enjoy the museum instead.
❥ And it’s on one of your routine weekend trips to the museum that you notice him. There’s a very handsome, very intelligent curator whom you’ve never seen before! And right in front of the picture of the broken bust of Giratina, he’s giving an exciting talk about the legendary Pokémon to quite a crowd. (You think that it might not just be his way with words that’s charming more observers, however. There’s a certain charisma and appeal about him. His voice, smooth, expressive, and a tad playful, is lovely as well. You really try to stop yourself there.)
❥ But he’s quite attractive, isn’t he? His golden hair sweeps over his face in an elegant fringe, and then you have to really fight against your frivolous thoughts, for clarity of mind. That blond hair; that enthusiastic, but keen gaze as he speaks of legends and myths… They seem so familiar. Do you know him from somewhere? No, you couldn’t. Perhaps it’s just that he looks quite similar to the former Sinnoh Champion. Could he also be from Celestic Town?
❥ Then, you spot what’s written on his silvery name tag—“Volo”—and you can’t stop thinking about why that name is just so fitting, for some reason.
❥ He notices your staring. You’re attempting not to, but the more you think about it, the more you’re interested! Why does he seem so familiar? Your heart skips a beat when he waves at you, and you can hardly manage to do the same in return. You hope that he believes you’re simply enamored with his lovely speech, and not his beautiful face. But when a slanted, knowing smile curls onto his lips, you think he’s not as dense as you wish him to be.
❥ It’s difficult to keep up your excuse, especially when you’re visiting the museum more frequently, just so you can catch a glimpse of him. You don’t have the courage to ever approach him, however, and you always flit away some time before his explanation ends.
❥ On the other hand, Volo is absolutely thrilled. He’s found you, after all these years! Those rumors had been right! He should’ve started his search here, and not so foolishly in Jubilife. All this searching, waiting, and agonizing… Just for you. He can hardly contain his excitement! He wants to stop everything he’s doing to march right over to you, but he controls himself—he won’t mess this up again—and contents himself to simply watch from afar. For now.
❥ He can tell that you’re curious about him, with how you’ve tilted your head and your eyes have narrowed ever so slightly. Those little things about you haven’t changed. You’d done so all the time in Hisui; it’s a look of your quiet curiosity he knows well. And it’s cute that you still glance away every time he even minutely turns your way. That’s something endearing about you that hasn’t changed either, and Volo wishes he could tease you about it right there, then wrap you up into his arms. But he can’t, just yet.
❥ However, Volo is a bit disappointed that you don’t seem to remember him, even though he remembers everything about you. Hmm, but he’s sure he can change that, given time! And he has plenty of that, now that he’s found you again.
❥ Though you never allow him a chance to speak to you! You’re always gone before he can actually reach out to you, but part of him is pleased with your embarrassed reaction. That means you must feel something for him, right? The other part of him loves that you’re still running away; you have no idea how it deepens his desire for you. It only excites him further—makes him want to chase you—even if he could really just saunter over to you and pin you down one of these days.
❥ After all, it hadn’t been difficult to find out more about you. Everyone knows that you’re the one who’d donated the Adamant Crystal and Lustrous Globe to the museum, and a single question about them in the employee breakroom had given him the answer he’d needed about you. That you’re a history professor at Eterna University, often spending your leisure at the museum or at a library. Of course, it all makes sense to Volo that this should be the life you’d lead, considering what you’d done in Hisui.
❥ His opportunity to finally catch you arrives sooner than he’d expected, but not in the way that he’d envisioned it. You’re not anticipating such a thing either.
❥ In fact, you’d thought you’d seen the last of Volo. You hadn’t seen him at the museum for the past week, and upon asking around for him, no one could give you a solid answer. You’d been met with shifty eyes and shaking heads, and you wonder what could’ve possibly pulled him away from a job he so obviously enjoyed. You regret not speaking with him sooner, as he’d always have something insightful to say about the artifacts or texts at the museum.
❥ It’s a thought periodically interrupting your work, while you’re tucked into a secluded corner of the Eterna Library’s highest floor. Perhaps you shouldn’t be surprised either, then, that the man on your mind suddenly appears across your table, with that pleasant smile and warm gaze. You don’t even remember to ask him why he’s here, or how he’s found you. He’s a museum curator, and wouldn’t it be normal for him to be at the library as well?
❥ Instead, you invite him to sit down with you, albeit your initial greeting is rather uncouth and surprised. Of course, he accepts graciously, without commenting on your flustered state, but it isn’t long before he notices the question hidden behind your fleeting glances.
❥ “I see you’ve been wondering about where I’ve been the past week,” he muses, and he relishes in how you look away to fiddle with some of your papers.
❥ “Well, yes,” you admit sheepishly, for it’s impossible to hide that truth from him, “you had the most interesting of thoughts on many of the exhibits.”
❥ Volo can’t help teasing you now. “Is that all?”
❥ “Of—of course!” You’re embarrassed, and he revels in seeing the expression on your face. “So it’s only natural that I’d miss your talks at the museum. Where have you been?”
❥ His demeanor turns serious, and you’re shocked when he reveals to you, “You could say I’m on temporary leave. Not of my own volition, however.”
❥ Really? Him? You can’t believe it. He’s the museum’s best! (And that’s not simply just your opinion, or influenced by something other than his proficiency at his job.) “If you don’t mind me asking… Why?”
❥ Uncharacteristically solemn, he’s staring directly at you when he answers, “I couldn’t stand by what had been written on Giratina at the museum. I spoke to the visiting public of the true reason it had had a change of heart. That it was not only due to centuries spent observing the bond between humans and Pokémon, as people have assumed as the sole factor for all these years. It had been that the last time Giratina had awoken, intent on imparting chaos upon the world, it was defeated by a hero of pure heart—someone who could show it that everything was not as broken and awful as it had thought, and that the land was worth protecting.”
❥ Somehow, his words resonate with you, as if you know what he’s talking about. In your heart, you understand it, though you don’t know it. It doesn’t sound wrong, but you wonder why he’s looking at you with such a severe expression. That you should know why it sounds as if he’d been there.
❥ However, you choose not to address those feelings; for some reason, you think this an inopportune time to ask about them.
❥ “So they kicked you out for saying that?” Your gaze is defiant when you cross your arms, and a steely resolution gleams in your eyes. “While maybe you shouldn’t have said so immediately, it’s a bit harsh to remove you like that. History benefits from multiple opinions, doesn’t it? I’ve been saying that the bureaucracy here really needs to change. I’ll speak to them.”
❥ It’s so like you, and Volo is taken back to the time when he’d been slated for banishment after you’d defeated him. With that very same conviction, you’d said the same thing—that you’d speak to Kamado on his behalf, and that you’d convince the villagers to give him another chance. …You haven’t changed. You still would do such a thing for him.
❥ Volo’s heart twists. All this time he’s spent waiting for you is suddenly worth it, even more so. Maybe he can finally thank Arceus for something—that he’d been allowed to live for all this time, to meet you again. Oh, he really, really loves you, and he almost tells you so, with no warning at all.
❥ But he holds back. Instead, he lightly claps his hands together, before leaning in with an index finger pointed toward you mischievously. It seems so familiar. Nonetheless, you’re startled by his abrupt shift in mood, and you’re nowhere near ready for what he says next.
❥ “While I appreciate your sentiments, there’s no need! I’ll be reinstated next week.” Volo reaches toward you, his larger hand resting atop your own for just a moment before he pulls away. “For now, I’d much rather focus on other things, and I believe the most fascinating of them all is finally sitting right before me.”
❥ You feel the heat from his skin on yours, process his words, and then that traitorous heat is crawling back up to your face. This man…
❥ “If you’ll allow me the chance, I’d like to get to know you better, professor,” he says deliberately, with an easy chuckle. And even though he wants to confess that he already knows you well enough, he’ll take it slow, with you.
❥ Your heart is fluttering, and the way he’d addressed you makes you feel strangely hot inside. He’s interested in you? You have to set aside your papers to fold your hands together nervously—to focus your thoughts so that you can properly provide him your name and a coherent reply.
❥ “I’d like that. I want to get to know you better, too, Volo.”
❥ You’d said his name, just as you’d done before, during the first time you’d met in Hisui, and his smile widens.
❥ Oh, he’ll have so much more to show you, so that you may know him as well as he knows you. Even if you remember nothing of what he’s done, he knows that he has a lot to make up for, and he won’t mind spending every one of his days alive for you. And with a love he hopes you might one day soon recognize and remember, he silently promises you that.

Hey hey! Welcome to my Pokémon RP blog. On this blog I will be pretending as if the world of Pokémon is 100% real. This being said, I will be including pkmn rp tags in each post that fits that description as a warning.
Friendly reminder that if you try to engage a plot with me or any kind of offscreen rp experience without at least discussing it with me first, then I will likely not respond. Even if you do approach me with something in mind, there is no guarantee I will engage. Also I tend not to interact or engage in any big events. They tend to become overwhelming for me and you’ll most likely never find me becoming a part of them. Please don’t send in asks regarding big events.
If you are looking to interact with my muse, and your muse is tied to some potentially triggering topics, I would prefer if you discussed potential interactions with me first. This is for my own comfort, so please keep this in mind.
That being said, this blog will likely contain some triggering topics, such as religion, religious guilt/trauma, paranoia, dissociation and other things of this nature.
Admin is an adult! If this makes you uncomfortable then move along.
This is an RP blog, however this specific version of Volo is CANON DIVERGENT and based off an au of mine. For more information regarding this specific au please read the brief summary below:
Volo is a time traveler who's recently fled from Hisuian era Sinnoh not long after the events of PLA. He ran away via space time distortion, which sent him to modern day Unova. He's adopted the alias of "Vee" and will deny any sort of relation to "Volo" or Cynthia.
Volo is not originally from Hisui and has spent a majority of his life jumping through timelines, so he's fairly familiar with the modern day. However he's spent quite a while in Hisui, so there will be a bit of a culture shock. His grasp on current events may be a bit dated as well.
He labels himself as a historian who specializes in mythology, however his intent is to learn more about Arceus and other Pokemon deities. He carefully hides any malintent behind a slightly unsettling mask of friendliness and sociability.
ONCE AGAIN this blog will contain some POTENTIALLY TRIGGERING TOPICS such as religion, religious guilt/trauma, paranoia, dissociation, and other topics that relate to Volo's experience as a religious man with an unhealthy obsession with "god" who also deals with paranoia and other mental issues.
Please be aware that when I am talking as Vee (Volo), he may appear unsettling or not in touch with reality. If you are uncomfortable with this, it may be in your best interest to move along. If something ever comes off as rude/mean, it does not reflect how I actually feel and is just how I believe Vee (Volo) would react.
This blog is SFW, save for vaguely suggestive topics. Anything that is deemed as explicitly NSFW will be deleted on sight.
Another warning. This blog may often be involved in long RP threads. I won’t be using any programs to cut my long posts short. If this bothers you, I would recommend skipping this blog or blocking the tag “long post” or “rp thread”.
Also! I follow and like from @ripoff-robbie-rotten.
HERE IS A REFERENCE I MADE FOR MY VERSION OF VOLO.

I imagine the twins have that horror theory where Akari lived in an Orphanage of Fear, where she was probably mistreated and all. And then she ran away and got lost during winter (If they don't come up with something even more horrifying)
Would they cry over how easily excited Akari gets for battles or trains or "Mama Chandelure", in contrast to how horrible they think her human life must have been?
GOD those two think about all the possible circumstances that would lead to a child freezing to death and EVERY SINGLE OPTION scares the everlasting SHIT out of them. Honestly, Orphanage of Fear is just the best case scenario. For all they know, Akari was kidnapped, tortured, or a victim of a sick murder. They don't know. They don't want to ask her for details but it's genuinely killing them inside that they have no idea what happened to her.
The running away in winter idea is probably what they would stick with because it's vastly better than her being MURDERED. Like, yes it's fucking awful but the child killer nightmares are too much okay. They can't handle it. She's such a bright and cheery kid who loves trains and battles and showmanship. The idea that a person out there would willingly snuff out that light, and get away with it, makes them physically sick.
They're happy to be giving her a life she deserves now, at least. She's still like... a ghost, now. There's no denying that. It's not ideal, especially with her being an extinct Pokémon— Ingo's still batting away nosy historians and conservationists, those little shits clearly don't understand that she's both a Pokémon AND a human child who JUST DIED for fuck's sake, but. But they still have Akari around to hold and love. And they're happy to be able to know her and care for her.

( an attempt at fluff(?) - i hope things get better or at least easier for you soon. virtual hugs, remember that you've got a lot of people in your corner <3 )
Ingo writes a book when he's in Hisui.
Okay, wait. It's not really a book, and he didn't really write it, he would object. It's more of a very very long pamphlet, and he got a lot of help from Zisu and the Survey Corps. It was written for them, after all: it's a primer on how to befriend, train, and raise Pokémon, for the Security Corps and the rest of the Galaxy Team and really anyone else who wants to learn, because he doesn't have time to teach everyone directly but he so badly wants as many people as possible to have the chance to learn.
So it takes a while to put together—not just all of the information, but presenting it well, with graphs and diagrams so that even people who can't read, or can't read the language it's presented in (which is a fair amount of Jubilife tbh) can still get something out of it. Rei and Akari help him make some copies, even, so more than one person can look at them at once.
And then, when he's just about finished—so before he has the chance to see how it's received—he goes home.
To Unova. And he's happy! His memory is still pretty fuzzy, but he knows for certain that this is where he wants to—where he should be, even. It just feels right. But that doesn't mean it isn't also bittersweet, leaving his home of so many years in Hisui behind.
But when he gets back home—to the one he couldn't remember but missed anyway—he finds a book waiting for him on a table.
It's pretty worn-out, like the owner has read through it quite a few times, and he sort of recognizes it, however vaguely. It's a book about Pokémon training and strategy, so old it's nearly out-of-date by this point (if the topic weren't so universally consistent, anyway) but it's still interesting to read, and the foundation is solid, so it's one of the first books he—they picked up. When they were just starting out as Trainers.
And the foreword, written by a modern-day scholar, confirms what he remembers: this is a very old book, that's survived in modern times mostly by virtue of the fact that it was so widely read and copied and (later) translated and added to. There are definitely better references today even for beginners, and most of its value is historical, records of old training methods and "move styles" and an insight into how people of the past viewed Pokémon and... wait a minute.
This is his book. As in, it's the one he wrote.
It doesn't take long, flipping through it, to confirm. Oh sure, some details have been lost in translation or edited out, and there's newer commentary in a few places, but the structure is so familiar that there's no other explanation. He really hadn't expected it to be anything other than a reference for a few people in Jubilife, maybe something a Ginkgo Guild member took with them once if he was lucky—but now, so, so many years later, it's been passed on and reprinted and rewritten and translated into so many languages—because he was right. People and Pokémon were meant to work together, and that one wish of his resonated with enough people that now it's almost impossible to imagine the world working any other way. And this little book (not even really a book, at first) made it all the way around the world and back to him, without him even realizing.
But it's weird—the note at the front also mentions an afterword, and he doesn't remember writing one of those. And it does say that it does seem to be from a different source than the author of the rest of the book (clearly passionate, but elusive in the text itself, a fact which is apparently deeply frustrating to historians, whoops-) but also doesn't talk about it as if it's a later addition from another copier, either. It might have been written by many different people, it says, and there's even been some conflict over whether it should be included in reprints at all, but most people have apparently come to the conclusion that it should be treated as another part of the original book and kept in.
So he flips to the back, to see... and realizes almost immediately what it is.
Just in case you need telling again, because I’m sure you will—you take care of yourself out there. Then we can all rest easy. Our ‘dex is missing a valuable contributor—and ourselves, a good friend—but I’m certain that your destination, as it were, has been dearly missing you for long enough already! And so long as this testament to our shared work lives on, we are never truly gone from each other. I told you I’d keep an eye out for you, whenever I leave, and I’m still doing that. But just in case we don’t wind up with the same home after all, and this does get to you, I wanted to say thanks again. For guiding me, and listening, and helping even when you didn’t need to. It helped a lot. We figured out how to do that thunder barrier thing you were talking about the day after you left, and I’m really mad that you didn’t see it. So you’d better at least be reading this! Oh yeah, and thanks for all the advice. But mostly, I’m really glad that stupid barrier trick didn’t end up in this copy, because if I can’t show you I should at least get to brag to everyone else, and I can’t do that if everyone knows about it. The highlands are doing just fine. Just in case you thought we needed you! My own capable hands are more than enough!
They're... goodbyes. Not just from the other people who worked on the book, but from... everyone. Who, like him, had no way of knowing where this book would go once it left Jubilife—but took the chance anyway, sending these notes on their way to be read and reread a thousand times by a thousand hands... to find him again. As a physical goodbye—not as ephemeral as words or memories, but something able to persist.
But then, if they'd gotten even his fellow highlands warden to leave his own note, what was this last one that was so much longer than the rest...?
Any meeting in this vast world is something to be grateful for, but I am more grateful for one than most. The fullness of our space and time has more potential than I ever dreamed, and I do not know if my eyes would have opened were you not there for those first steps. Dear warden, friend, and guide, on behalf of all of us—I hope you were able to call us your home, at least for a while. And the almighty knows we have asked more than our fair share already, but if we may make one last selfish request of you—
…ah.
—please, for all of us, be happy.
AASDFHJKLCMIASCNNGHHHH SWIFT ;O; IM BLUBBERING IT'S SO GOOD AND SWEET AND GAAH MY HEART. LEAVING THE MESSAGES DESPITE NOT KNOWING WHO IT'S FOR, EVEN WHEN IT WAS FOR, BUT THEIR WORDS SURVIVING THROUGH THE AGES PASSED DOWN FROM TRAINER TO TRAINER AND SPREAD ACROSS THE WORLD IN SO MANY LANGUAGES. AND IT'S NOT A MESSAGE OF MOURNING BUT A MESSAGE OF H O P E, AND I JUST.
