oooh but to be pinned down against the panel control by alastor during that one scene in stayed gone. maybe you're one of his contracted souls. maybe you're one of the poor souls seeking redemption. maybe you're one of his friends, if the radio demon has such a thing. maybe you're playing spy for vox. doesn't matter - you're here during his showdown with vox.
his façade drops. you take a step back, until your hip hits the control panels. there's nowhere to run. not with him looming over you. his ever-present smile stretches impossibly wide, fangs bared, hot breath fanning your skin. saliva trickles down his gaping maw. your breath hitches when it hits the tender skin of your neck, lips parting in a silent gasp.
"i'm gonna make you wish that i'd stayed gone."
his body contorts and stretches, limbs elongating until he encases you, studies you - pupils like radio dials emerging from a pool of black. he's close. too close. oh, and he's pissed.
you've never seen something as terribly beautiful as him.
his claws dig in your chin, craning up your neck just short of humanely possible until you meet his stare. he sings, still, static digging into your very bones until it steals your breath away, until it's only you and the radio demon watching you like you're his last meal. oh, and he's snarling his verse, voice dripping with venom as he goes, as you drown into him.
there's a distorted chuckle in his voice, the richness of his laughter merging with that of his audience's.
Yo Whit. I got a new sketchbook and am so paralyzed on what to draw. How do? What do?
Yo anon I go through sketchbook paralysis too!! I try to break in sketchbooks by drawing my favorite memes, no lie.
That way whenever I open it up I see my favorite pics first ☺️ also it’s a great drawing exercise!
Some of my favorite memes on one page ⬆️
I also like drawing my sister’s cats. ⬇️
Also it helps to know if your sketchbook is going to be one for showing other people (like for art classes, or compiling traditional art) or just for you.
If the sketchbook is for a class or portfolio, you can use mixed media in it and post-it notes to keep things organized and readable!
If it’s just for you, get as messy as you like and have fun! Some of my personal sketchbook pages are just me doing the same drawing over and over again for practice lol
Earlier I was telling @earhartsease about the use of katakana not only foreign loan words but for emphasis/difference. I found a few examples in my Kanken training app, so I thought I'd share them here.
Here the question is asking you to convert the syllables オギナウ from katakana to the correct kanji and hiragana combination. In this case, the katakana is used to supply the syllables but not the information in those syllables (not the character, with its embedded meaning, or the cutoff between the character and the hiragana that completes the adjective.
The correct answer here is 補う.
Here the katakana アイウエ (a i u e) are used like an English multiple choice ABCD. (Correct answer ウ, U, because the compound 若者, wakamono, young person, is comprised of 2 訓読み, kun-yomi, or native Japanese readings).
And here's an example of me answering the type of question in the first example.
I don't know how to describe it, but something about Edward Gorey and Junji Ito both going slightly off-brand and illustrating a whimsical book about cats is so special to me
