Now for Prompt Examples + Explanations

I’ve had people ask for prompt examples in past events I’ve hosted and this event is open to any language, so here you go! These are the quick brainstorming notes (now expanded with links & definitions) I took while narrowing down the list to be sure the final prompts were unique enough / without toooo much overlap, and covered enough areas. Only some of maaaany interpretations—go wild!

Your host is a fic-writer with ADHD, so…you’ve been warned.

Day 1:

Pumpkin Spice: Cozy Autumn vibes. Putting up Halloween decorations, carving Jack-o-lanterns, coffee / tea shop, pumpkin patch, scented candles, baking, fall sangria, sweaters and beanies and flannels, momijigari (Autumn Hanami 🌸, basically) / admiring gorgeous fall foliage, fresh hot apple cider in an orchard. Itoshi Bros and their love of turtle/mock-neck sweaters. Pumpkin Farmer Aiku and Karasu scarecrow!

Do you believe in magic?: Revealing their magical powers for the first time. Crystal ball, tarot. Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, etc. AU. Non-literal magic in relationships (feeling understood, chemistry, humor matching up perfectly, etc). Wands, spells, magical objects, magical creatures, etc.. Making a wish. Alexis "The Magician" Ness.

Day 2:

Masks: Costumes, super heroes, putting up a front, acting like something you’re not, classic masked Halloween meet-cute, secret / concealed identities, spies, ninja and samurai and assassins (Karasu and Otoyaaa!) Niko hiding his eyes / face.

Heartbeat: Racing heart from excitement, fright, romance, spice. No heartbeat like undead, zombie or vampire, etc.. Skip a beat, beat faster, beat slower (calm and comfort). Chigiri on the run from zombies, zombie Lorenzo!

Day 3:

Things that go bump in the night: unexplained (scary or otherwise) noises in the night, whispers or voices, ghosts and other supernatural entities, haunted house / place, anything scary, …spicy. Spooky Owl outside Rin’s window.

Festival: String lights illuminating festival stalls, costumes, traditional attire (Aryu looking stylish!), food and drink, games, Isagi devouring fried fair food. Fall Music festival. Mid-Autumn Festival (with all the pretty lanterns and mooncakes 🥮), Harvest / Fall Fests in general. Bobbing for apples, caramel / candy apples, carnival rides and games, Ferris wheel. Oktoberfest; Kaiser and/or any Bastard München player in Lederhosen—please, I’m begging!! Fun house / haunted house. Day of the Dead festivities.

Day 4:

Firelight: Cauldrons, brewing potions. Candles, rituals, bonfires. Autumn camping trip, s’mores, spooky firelight shadows outside the tent, got lost on a hiking trip & have to make a fire to keep warm! Torches, candles, lanterns lighting the way in a definitely not-haunted place. Hell, your favorite circle (Dante’s Inferno) 😈

Dark Waters: merpeople, sirens, sea monsters, kraken, pirates (Kurona and Raichi, Bachira 🐬!), sharks, shipwreck, ghost ships, stranded on a deserted island, haunted lakes, lake spirits, Autumn fishing trip, swamp monsters, bogs and marshes, willowisps, alligators, snakes. Loch Ness Monster

(Fire and water, light and dark)

Day 5:

Paranoia: Fear and suspicion, feeling like someone’s watching and you just can’t shake it (...Ego and his cameras), feeling like you’re losing your mind, etc.. Doesn’t have to be all bad! Maybe there was a misunderstanding before a fun surprise.

The Witching hour: Wiki / dictionary. Depending on whom you ask, the hour is either midnight or 3am - 4am. Supernatural entities / practitioners of dark arts are the most active and powerful. These entities might feel compelled / drawn out into the world. Magic and danger, inexplicable happenings! Humans ought to be at home and safely tucked in bed at this late hour, or else... Fun fact, the Orionid meteor shower peaks juuust before this event starts (in my hemisphere, at least) but continue until November, and the best time to view meteor showers is generally around the witching hour (after midnight / 3-4am). Can also mean the time in which people get up to no good or questionable stuff.

Day 6:

Monster’s Ball: Monsters, creatures. Bachiraaa. Halloween party, masquerade, nightlife (going out in costume—or not—to bars and clubs). Reo buying a round. Literal ⚽ ball (Lil Isagi trick-or-treating in Noa’s kit), Halloween Practice (like in high school or college when your coach let you have a fun practice in costume before a holiday—absolute chaos and so fun!). Whatever chaos and debauchery y’all can imagine. Just follow the event guidelines and tag accordingly! Green eyed monster (jealousy), Cinderella’s Ball (Sae and Shidou!)

Hunter’s Moon: The date of the actual full Hunter’s Moon—lucky us! Sometimes called the Blood Moon. Full moon, werewolves, moonlight, on the hunt or being hunted, spells and rituals, Tsukimi / moon viewing + Tsukimi dango 🎑, moon myths and gods. Celestial things, Kurona and Isagi planetary hotline / astronauts, aliens.

(Monster vs Hunter day, ha)

Day 7:

Angels and Demons: Demon and priest, hell, listening to the angel or the devil on your shoulder (making a questionable decision because it’s tempting), devilish fun or spells, sin, temptation, a deal with the devil. Ohhh, Sae and Shidou, your night has come! 😈

Castle: fairytales, knights, vampires, dungeons, Royalty (King Barou, Emperor Kaiser!). Also super Sae and Shidou.

Day 8:

Spirit: ghosts, haunted houses, GhostBusters, spirit entities like yokai, Ghost Adventures. Gagamaru as a friendly Yokai! Shaman. Possession, possessed or cursed objects. JJK. Ouija board game! Monk Igaguri.

Movie Night: Watching a scary (or not scary) movie, series, anime, etc. So many movie/show Alternate Universes. Sendou living his Hollywood dreams. Barbie please!!! Nagi nodding off halfway through. The guys as a character from their favorite movie listed in the Egoist Bible.

Mischief Night: Wiki page. The night before Halloween for hijinks, pranks, scaring each other! Toilet papering Ego’s house. Can be more sinister, too.

Day 9: Halloween!

Sweet tooth / sucker: Trick-or-Treating, candy corn, so much candy, caramel corn, vampires or anything with fangs, bite, ‘sucker’ like 🍭 or vampires, or…

Free day / AU (alternate universe) Palooza!:

Whatever Halloween stuff you want that doesn’t quite fit a prompt! Just listing some of the things I would draw (if I could) or write (if i had time):

Video game au for Hiori! Pokemon! Ego as a gangly cowboy, ⚽️ bolo tie and all. Barou as the "Cowardly" Lion in the Wizard of Oz. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Here’s what the dudes are doing this day!

Sans: he’s been recruited by toriel to join the kids trick or treat pack. Sans is in charge of the 13 year olds. And he’s going as a bread winner. He’s in his normal outfit but he has a medal around his neck and he’s carrying a loaf of French bread lol.

Papyrus: he’s going to the massive costume party in ebotts city center of course!! Papyrus winds up horrified as once again he and sparks have the same costume. They both went as Mikey from the teenage mutant ninja turtles.

Star: because he took the Halloween shift last year, Star gets to be police officer job free this Halloween! He’s going all out dressed as the transformer bumblebee. He gets absolutely wasted trying to challenge papyrus to a drinking contest with sparks and passes out on a table.

Honey: pumpkin spice season hit hard this year. He baked his heart out this year and is now having a nice peaceful evening eating pumpkin muffins and passing out candy to trick or treaters with basil oak and rust. He’s dressed up as Romeo from Romeo and Juliet this year!

Red: he’s been dragged off to the party by orion this year. Red almost didn’t dress up, but to his horror, his friend had a spare outfit for him lol. Red is dressed as Morticia Adams. The perfect match to orions Gomez adams.

Edge: he too has been dragged away to the party by the scarily manipulative duo of pepper and sugar. Edge came prepared though. He’s dressed this year in a lovely suit, fake gun and spy tools. He makes a handsome James Bond. Edge is taking his job as designated driver very seriously.

Mal: he’s with the old lady squad of course~ and this year they once again coordinated outfits. They decided on the classic witch costume. Mals is purple and black of course with a corset, and lots of lovely gold accessories. He knows he looks good. He wine and lord spend time egging on drunk monsters at the party into fights for the laughs.

Cash: he makes a lovely Bubbles (powerpuff girls) this year! Cash is running around with bruiser and cricket planning their next heist. They’ve secretly hidden fireworks in the pumpkin decorations on the tops of the buildings at the party. The trouble trio have them rigged to go off all at the same time

Oak: this year he looks positively adorable in his dinosaur onesie. His coworker called him old like one and oak decided to roll with it. He’s stayed behind this year to chill with honey rust and basil. They had a baking spree and are enjoying nightmare before Christmas as trick or treaters come to the door.

Willow: he’s entered in a bake off this year as part of the Halloween party! Asgore himself will be judging. Noir came with willow for moral support, and the two brought willows beautiful braided pumpkin, date and dried apple pie. He’s a nervous wreck right now waiting for the results. He’s dressed as an angel chef with his white chefs coat, a cute little pair of wings, and a halo instead of his chefs hat.

Charm: he too has entered the baking contest, but charm knows that he won’t win. The cake he has decorated as a beheaded lions head won’t go down well with Asgore who prefers the cute cakes. But butch get him 20G if he made Asgore turn green and by the stars, charm will find a way to win that. Charm is dressed as a slutty hunter this year with a fake rifle, tartan crop top, and the tiniest cargo shorts ever.

Sugar: he’s with pepper and edge tearing it up on the dance floor. Winnie is with her grandmother for the night and sugar is more than happy to take this holiday off. He already took his daughter trick or treating at the trunk or treat her school put together for the little kids that afternoon. So he’s set. He’s dressed as a disco dancer this year and he’s really playing the part

Lord: of course wine and mal always like coordinating outfits, so lord is also a witch this year. His costume is mostly black with some red details, and copper colored jewelry from mal. Lord is a little tipsy at the party and is having fun starting drama with his buddies. They need to be stopped.

Mutt: he’s in black and white stripes dressed as a prisoner, and little freeloader is the perfect matching partner for this. Mutt has only one thing on his mind, to pick up cuties. And with the adorable raccoon on his shoulder, it won’t be hard. However he thinks he sees a familiar face on the roof…

Wine: he of course is a witch alongside lord and mal. His costume is mostly black with some gold details, and silver jewelry of course. Can’t have too much gold. Wine is on alert this party. Coffee warned him about a loud prank coming up so he’s keeping an eye out just in case

Coffee: he already had a game plan to hide away with slim. Coffee has his switch ready and several games to pick from. However he stumbles on the trouble trios prank by accident and has to warn wine first. Lord will freak if the fireworks go off with no warning. He’s dressed as a circus performer this year. Coffee likes the jewel tones

Pluto: he’s with sans trying his best to herd 13 year olds. It’s a thankless job made harder by the fact that a few of the tall girls are fighting over using Pluto as a prop for their costumes. And sans is no help. He thinks it’s hilarious. Pluto is dressed as a fluffy white cat this year. He looks adorable

Jupiter: he’s at the party of course!! Jupiter is on the dance floor with lilac. They’ve challenged some dance monsters to a battle and are loosing terribly. He doesn’t really mind though. Jupiter is dressed as zeus this year. He’s loving the toga

Pop: he initially went to the party, but after about an hour, the crowd became too much and he doubled back home. While walking, pop saw a flock of crows that were weirdly active for so late and decided to follow them. The crows led him to a clearing in a seemingly abandoned part of the city where he found a large pile of shiny mixed coins in a circle of mushrooms on the pavement. He pocketed the coins and picked a few of the cool looking mushrooms. But he can’t help but to feel like he’s being watched now. For how costume pop is dressed as Peter Pan this year!

Rhythm: with his leg all healed up, rhythm feels confident enough to dance his heart away, and that’s exactly what he’s doing. He even came alone to the party intending to just have a good time with no distractions. And he does. Rhythm has an amazing night with several different dance partners, he tries some lovely baking, and winds up going home with a cute human for an after party. His costume this year is pretty simple. He’s dressed as a vampire with a cloak and some simple dress pants and shirt. He wanted a costume he could move around in easily.

G: he wasn’t in much of a party mood, but green insisted and all but dragged G out of the house. G winds up spending the night hiding away with coffee and slim on the outskirts of the party. Slim brought a switch and some extra controllers and the three are playing Mario cart lol. G is dressed up as a mad scientist this year. Not very original but he wasn’t expecting to come either anyways.

Green: worried about his brothers flipping moods lately, green basically drags him to the Halloween party. He wasn’t planning to go himself, hoping for a quiet evening of cards with some of the other doctors at his hospital, but desperate times call for desperate measures. When green sees G slip off with friends, he does the same and happily joins boss. He’s dressed as Cruella deville this year.

Peaches: he’s hanging out with cider and barley this year and is having a great time at their drinks stand. It’s the first year peaches hasn’t run his own food truck so he isn’t really sure what to do at the party. He’s dressed up as a pumpkin this year to everyone’s amusement

Rancher: he’s on the dance floor bench pressing two other golem monsters. He’d bench press humans too, but he’s had a bit too much to drink and isn’t sure he’d be able to touch one without being too rough lol. Rancher is dressed up as Hercules this year, and he’s really playing the part

Snipe: sadly duty calls. As Asgore is the royal in charge of this party, snipe will be working full time. However his boss did at least have the guards dress up as stormtroopers. He’s kinda digging it

Bruiser: cricket and cash set up the fireworks while he did his guard shift. Like all the others, bruiser looks great in his stormtrooper outfit. He slips away during his break to check on the prank but runs into mutt on the roof. The fight afterwards nearly gets them caught

Ace: he is also on active duty this year. Aces job is to scan for bombs and gunners. Since he’s undercover, he gets his own costume. And he figured a ninja would be perfect for the role lol. Dressed as Naruto to slims delight, ace breaks up two fights, finds a thankfully fake pipe bomb, and discovers the fireworks on the roof. He lets those slide though since bruiser already told him what they were for

Slim: for once he doesn’t have to play security. Slim hates parties and knows he’s gonna be forced to go, so why not make the most of it. He and coffee plan ahead and both bring their switches so they can play Mario cart in the alleyway away from bossy brothers. Slim is dressed as sasuske from Naruto this year to match ace.

Butch: unfortunately for him, he too is on duty as empress is opening the first dance of the party. He’s part of her court so it means he can be called as her personal guard if she wishes. Alongside another guard, empress picked out two wicked looking knights in dark armor costumes. Butch looks hella scary.

Boss: he also has a rare break this holiday, and he’s making the most of it! Boss winds up being joined by green and they make their way around the city block saying hello to friends and acquaintances. He’s looking real nice dressed up as the winter soldier this year. Boss likes the face mask

Rust: he wanted an easy drama free day, and he really feels like a genius for crashing honey basil and oaks “party”. Rust brought mozzarella sticks so he was welcomed with open arms. He’s also in a onesie, except his is a tiger. He and oak think it’s a funny coincidence

Noir: willow has been stressing about his pie for days, so noir came with him to the party for emotional support. Also he really wants a slice. The pie looks divine lol. Noir loves using his cane as part of the costume, so he’s in an old English gentleman’s outfit right now. He looks really good.

Lilac: he went with Jupiter intending to dance a bit, and wound up getting absolutely plastered and challenging all these dance monsters to battles. Lilac is having the time of his life right now, and he knows he’s gonna be hurting in the morning. Worth it. He’s dressed as willy wonka this year and has candy in all his pockets to give to other drunk partiers.

Basil: he and honey planned together to have a chill Halloween. They baked like madmen the day before and are now reaping the rewards. Basil looks pretty cute in his jolly green giant costume and loves the kids reactions whenever they ring the doorbell

Gears: he’s with quill and both the tiny monsters are using their baby eyes to get free samples of everything. Gears even got a free bunt cake from one smitten monster lol. He’s having a great time right now and will be sad to leave. Gears is dressed up in a charming sun costume. The warm colors really bring out the glow in his chestnut brown eyes.

Compass: he’s running fast away from the pack of crows chasing him through the alleyways. The circle he’s been steering monsters away from had been disturbed and compass is scared the birds will make off with everyone’s wallets. If he can lead them away maybe the night won’t get ruined. He’s dressed in cameo and fake leaves to make a military uniform.

Lush: he started the day with sparks but ended it with salt. Both lush and salt are tag team flirting with these three monsters dressed as the Harry Potter trio. And it seems like they’re having some success. Maybe this night won’t be so bad after all. Lushs costume, a devil, looks great with his magic color.

Pepper: sugar has been looking forward to this all night, so pepper makes sure to drag edge along so he can really party with his friend. Dressed as a flapper, pepper is looking fine as heck and loving life on the dance floor

Sparks: to his horror, once again he’s matching with papyrus. They both had dressed up as Mikey from the teenage ninja turtles. Sparks accidentally ditches lush on the dance floor to try and beat paps in a drinking contest with star. It doesn’t go well

Salt: he left with lush as soon as sparks and papyrus started screeching at each other lol. Salt knows he’ll be fine there and he’s really in the mood to just find some cuties for the night. Lush makes a great wingman. Salt needs that considering he decided to be Winnie the Pooh this year. Not exactly the most attractive lol.

Orion: dressed as Gomez adams, he accidentally bought the couples outfit and had a Morticia outfit as well. But orion knows just the guy who will fit it! Poor poor red

Atlas: he was so relieved to see bruiser after being saddled with his boring fellow math professors all night. Of course bruiser is fist fighting mutt, but still better than talking formulas. Cider: his family business is providing drinks this party so he’s hard at work making the alcohol! Peaches is welcome company as cider slaves away. He went for a rather simple pirate costume this year. He didn’t have much time to do anything better.

Barley: he’s the bartender of his family’s drink stand! Barley is dressed as a lavish looking pirate wench and is enjoying all the attention it brings. He keeps sending longing looks to mettatons concert though

Quill: he stuck to gears side all night and with him, has been using their baby eyes to get free stuff. Quill looks absolutely adorable in his moon costume, the light blue really bringing out the brightness of his silver eyes. He even got a free stuffy from a smitten monster.

Crow: this is no holiday for him. Crow had spent the last two days setting up the music concert for mettaton at the dance floor. And now he’s at the party keeping a close eye on the workers so everything can run smoothly. His uniform, a jesters outfit is a good costume.

Ram: this year he’s opted to join the sea monsters at sea shores boardwalk Halloween party. He sticks close to moose and fisher and has fun chatting at the stand. One of pitch’s sheepdogs has joined ram to match his scarecrow costume for the night.

Pitch: surprising no one, he stayed home to read and enjoy the nice night weather. However all the crows in the sky is unusual. Pitch looks up for only a moment before shrugging and going back to his book. Dante’s inferno is a great read. No costume for him

Moose: he joined fisher at his tarot reading stand at the boardwalk and is having fun chatting with people and enjoying the festivals treats. A few of how regular hikers recognize moose in his werewolf costume somehow and asked for pictures.

Maple: he’s also at seashore! He’s running around checking out every art stall ever!! Maple is taking close notes because he intends to enter some of his carvings in the echo festival. He’s in it to win it! His lanky figure is perfect for his tree giant costume!

Fisher: he has a tarot reading stand like every year, and is dressed as a fortune teller this year. Fisher put his soul into making that costume and loves it dearly. His stand is popular as ever.

Jasper: he helps every year with setting up the haunted boardwalk! Jasper is the chainsaw guy at the end this year and is taking his job very seriously. His ski mask had to be taped on his face lol.

Finn: after he joined his troop for the trick or treat pack, finn found himself with a little free time. He tentatively joins sails in exploring the haunted boardwalk. Poor finn nearly fainted when Jasper chases them with the chainsaw. Finn really suits his buzz light year costume!

Sails: when his bro came home early, sails knew it would be his duty to scare the soul out of Finn. The monsters of seashore really went all out with the haunted boardwalk this year. So sails merrily strong arms his older brother into going with him lol. His lazy Ariel costume makes a lot of monsters laugh. He taped two seashells to a skin colored shirt and is wearing green sequin leggings. Where he got those no one knows

Hook: of course his first stop at the boardwalk Halloween festival his fishers stand. Hook spends some time talking his favorite land living monster before rejoining his crew at the festival. He has a great time watching captain suffer through karaoke. Hook is dressed as the Mona Lisa this year to everyone’s amusement

Captain: his crew partied hard on holidays and it’s his duty to make sure they don’t wreck havoc on seashore. If that means suffering through two hours of bad karaoke then so be it. Captain will never admit he likes singing jack skeletons lament. One of his crew mates actually got him a costume this year, so captain grudgingly spend Halloween dressed as king trident.

Day 1 - Pumpkin spice latte

A/N: Don't mind me, just feeding the neurotic need to do a 30 day writing challenge for all seasons, it's only been bothering me for, you know what, I don't even remember how many years it's been since I fail-finished the summer challenge. The original thought behind the winter challenge was to churn out and post a new story for 30 consecutive days, even if the quality wasn't great, in an attempt to improve my writing. I have since completely given up on improving my writing, forgotten what little I knew about writing, and basically just want to get this over with so I can stop thinking about it.

Editing will be abysmal.

"Pumpkin spice latte, please."

Tony eyed her with suspicion. "Who are you, and what have you done to my partner?"

Ziva shot him a confused look, before focusing on the wide variety of fall themed muffins and cupcakes.

He leaned in closer. "Since when does our local ninja assassin order pumpkin spiced anything?"

"Since Abby bought me one after I helped her with something," she said matter-of-factly.

"Hmm, should've know nothing good could come from a goth mad scientist and a Mossad spy working together."

"What do you have against pumpkin spice?"

"It's...girly, what did you help Abby with?"

"You had a pumpkin spice latte yesterday."

"I am very confident in my manhood."

Ziva looked him up and down slowly.

He held up a finger to silence her. "You, Abby, tell me."

"She wanted my help reconstructing a murder."

The barista placed her drink on the counter, she ignored his wide-eyed look, and grabbed the latte with a smile of gratitude.

They walked out of the coffee shop, and were greeted with a pleasantly warm breeze for the time of year. Ziva looked up at him gleefully. "She even made fake blood, the consistency was perfect, it wasn't body temperature, unfortunately."

Tony stopped in his tracks, and she followed suit looking up at him questioningly, before taking a sip from her latte and humming in approval.

"Everyone at the office is going to call you the pumpkin spice assassin, you know that right?" He asked with a grin.

Ziva narrowed her eyes. "And why would they do that?"

"Because I have given every new hire of the past five years a nickname that stuck like glue." He grinned widely.

Ziva chuckled. "And how many of them were Mossad assassins, with a brand new friend in forensics?"

His grin faltered, and she patted him on the cheek. "Good decision."

Ziva took another sip, and they continued their walk. A moment later, she angled her head towards him. "Agent donut?"

Tony nodded and chuckled.

"Not very original, from what I understand that is a well-known stereotype."

Tony shook his head, trying to contain his laughter. "Not the food, he got shot in the butt." He laughed out loud.

Ziva looked at him with annoyance. "What is so funny about-"

He grabbed her arm, now wheezing with laughter. "No, he," he swallowed hard and tried to regain some composure, "he had to sit on one of those inflatable donut cushions for a month. Sometimes, it would make a farting sound when he moved, which is exactly what happened when we were all in MTAC updating the SecNav on a terrorist cell that had been caught buying big piles of manure to make explosives."

Ziva snorted as the scene played out in her mind. "That is funny." She looked at him pointedly, the corners of her mouth twitching. "If you are twelve."

He chuckled again, seeing right through her facade. "Looks like we're both twelve on the inside, then, Ziva."

The Sparrows- Speculative Headcanons

Now that we've seen a bit of the Sparrows in action, and we know about as much as I think we're going to before the 22nd, I wanna take a stab at some speculative headcanons, based on what we've seen so far, and what can be infered from that.

Marcus

He's the Dad Sibling

However, as his main frame of reference for "a dad" is Reginald, he may come off as a bit... sterner than he means to at times

His authority has been earned, though, and for the most part the others do respect and admire him

He will throw hands for any of them at any time, no questions asked

He feels the responsibility of being Number One strongly, and is always striving to prove that he's worthy of his position.

Ben

Takes being a Sparrow the most seriously- or at least is convinced that he does

Sensitive about his scar, possibly- that or he has a zero tolerance policy for weird shit

Thinks he should be Number One- but this could possibly become a "careful what you wish for" situation, where he only gets to be the leader after Marcus dies, so he gets what he wanted, but not the way he wanted it.

There are faint traces of the old Ben in there, but they are really, really faint.

He doesn't have a favourite sibling, but he does get on okay with Alphonso, and they make a point of sticking up for each other.

Fei

Eldest Daughter Syndrome

She's the brains of pretty much any operation they carry out

Her scars came from her birds, when she was much younger and less in control of them

Sloane is her bestie, though she gets on with Marcus too. She may be Number Three, but they all know she's the real right hand sibling.

She's got a surprisingly sharp sense of humour

Alphonso

Middle Kid Syndrome

Gets on best with Jayme, but also with Ben. The even numbers stick together

He lives like a goddamn Ninja Turtle and he embraces it

His scars were accumulated over several incidents, rather than just being from one fight

He was originally born in Italy, and, similarly to Klaus, will drop Italian words and phrases into conversations

Sloane

Hates being part of the Sparrow Academy, but loves being a Hargreeves sibling- in other words, she doesn't actually hate her siblings, she just hates that they aren't allowed to be a normal family

She's probably the most protective of Chris, and was the most insistent that he be included when they were growing up. (Not unlike another Five and Seven we know...)

She unironically loves pumpkin spice lattes

She's kinda sensitive to criticism, and doesn't like to see the others hurt

Aside from Chris, Fei is probably her favourite sibling- they're pretty different in a lot of ways, but that just makes them get along even more

Jayme

Her powers even freak her out sometimes- and they definitely freaked her out when she was a kid. But the Sparrow Academy has no room for weakness, so she sort of trained herself to always seem kinda disinterested and uncaring, cause it's easier that way

Alphonso is her bestie, and if anyone so much as looks at him funny, she's skipping the dream power thing and going straight to throwing punches

She and Five continue to be snarky with each other even after both teams eventually stop fighting

She loves her sisters, but she sometimes feels like a third wheel to Fei and Sloane's double act. They do all get along, despite this

She is a bit of a quiet one a lot of the time, and keeps to herself with the exception of her siblings

Chris

He likes to be involved in things- if there's any way he can join in with an activity, he'll do it

Sloane is his favourite, but he likes all his siblings. He's a bit of a sweetheart for someone who doesn't have a physical body

He doesn't know where he came from either, and doesn't care- he's happy with his siblings.

He's always trying to cheer his siblings up when they're upset. They can all understand him, and appreciate his efforts to make them smile

His glow changes colour depending on his mood/ the situation. White is his default setting, so to speak

Thank you so much for the tag, @artbyeloquent. I'm so interested in the Last of Us, so please let me know how you like it.

Rules: Fill out the following questions

Three Ships: I don't usually ship unless it has to do with my OC and a video game character. So, with that in mind, my first two ships for Star Wars: The Old Republic are: Imperial Agent and Sith Inquisitor, as well as Trooper and Smuggler. I might be partial with those choices as I roleplay those characters with my husband. I've recently watched the anime D.Gray-Man, so I would love for Miranda and Krory to get together.

First Ship: I don't know. It's been so long ago. Most likely, characters from the 80-90s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle cartoon.

Last Song: Kingdoms Fall by Red Means Run. This song always gets me in the mood to write Cold as Ice.

Last Movie: It's been so long. I think it was Jurassic World: Dominion. I don't watch many movies.

Currently Watching: That 90s show. In 1995, I was the same age as Leia, one of the main teenagers in it.

Currently Consuming: Pumpkin-spice coffee and half and half.

Craving: a large plate of ravoli with lots of parmesan. My doctor has me on a plant-based diet and I'm not allowed to have ravoli.

I remember you mentioned pumpkin cheesecake truffles, but what other pumpkin goodies do you enjoy/like to make?

Oh ho ho, yes! Thank you for asking! :D 1. Vitamin String Quarter has a cover album of the soundtrack to The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's amazing! I listen to it every year to get into the spooky season! Initially, I only knew about the This is Halloween track, and would listen to that on repeat, but then found out that the whole album is wonderful. 2. Coraline is a great one, highly recommended! I also love Crimson Peak (the aesthetic!!!), which is *not* a horror movie, but a Gothic Romance and a perfect example of that genre. And one that I rewatched last Halloween season after many many years is What Lies Beneath! A favorite spooky thriller for me since I first saw it at age 17. I have a very clear distinction in what kind of scary movies I enjoy, because gory horror is not for me - give me uneasiness and tension and the supernatural, not gratuitous bloody murder!

3. Pumpkin soup!!!! Specifically this recipe which Nintendo shared as the official version of Yeto's soup in Twilight Princess. It is soooo good! And do use goat cheese if you can - it's amazing! Now, for a few years I had a coworker who would give me a couple of pumpkins from her dad's garden every fall, and so I would have enough pumpkin to make quite a few things with. Pumpkin pie is always a favorite, especially since I found this insanely easy and delicious recipe. I would freeze and save some of my pumpkin purée for my holiday baking, not only making those pumpkin cheesecake truffles with it, but also pumpkin roll! Every year I make a pumpkin roll for Christmas, which is essentially just a pumpkin swiss roll cake with cream cheese frosting. And any leftover purée can easily be made into pumpkin pancakes ^_^ And as far as seasonal baked goods that I don't bake myself, I am of course a huge fan of Tim Hortons' pumpkin spice muffins - oh my god they are so good!

Backstory:

Ever since the time of Dareth, his lineage was described as weak and lazy, just like he was. The Elemental Masters never referred to them as such, of course, but several others still did. Danielle got tired of the insults and name-calling, so she had her mother sign her up for melee fighting lessons when she was six. By the time she was thirteen, she was a melee champion; no one would call her weak ever again! But she couldn't shake the lazy bit, so she applied for a job at Steeper Wisdom when she was fifteen. Her family had a deep connection with the Masters, after all, and she could continue that family legacy this way - the legacy of helping the Masters. PIXAL admired her determination, and gave her a job washing dishes. In just a few short years, she excelled up to being promoted as PIXAL's assistant manager, and often took over for her when she was absent.

Trivia

- She still does melee tournaments in her spare time. If one happens on a day she's supposed to be working, she works twice as hard the days before and after to make up for her absence.

- She doesn't like being compared to Dareth, but she includes animal-like moves into her attacks. Her favorite being "Gorilla Rage", where she hops around her opponent and then suddenly knocks them down and beats them with her fists until they either tap out or manage to escape.

- Some melee fighters in her tournaments have ridiculous costumes and nicknames. To that, she says: "They're trying to cover up the parts of themselves they hate. Me; I love every part of myself. I put my usual outfit and name on display when I fight, and people can either love me or hate. If they hate me, that's their problem."

- She deeply cares for all people, young and old. She even asked PIXAL to create a "Companion's Special": whenever a poor/homeless person or family comes by the tea shop, she gives them any tea of their choice and treat for free. Normally this would be bad for business, but paying people keep coming back. It's a combination of fear for the manager and assistant manager, and greed for the delicious inventory.

- She is highly perceptive. Her Companion's Special often leads to people trying to act poor in order to get free food, so she's trained herself to spot the differences between a real homeless person and a fake.

- She loves kids, and tells all those who come to the tea shop to call her Mama Bear. On her breaks, she often plays with the children, but doesn't let them talk her into getting more tea cakes.

- Just because she loves kids doesn't mean she won't physically man handle them if they are bullying other kids. Man, teenager, or child, she won't hesitate to unleash everything she knows about melee to subdue a bully.

Weapon of choice (if need be): Hammer. She never goes anywhere without one. (Robbers and bullies beware.)
