Friday the 13th? Spooky day in Spooktober? Nah. Egg. Gotta draw them shiny, soft-boiled, seasoned goodies.
Especially because I'm just really into shiny eggs this year.
The breadbugs @lady-quen sends in to have a nibble are going to have to deal with antigravity with this one apparently, because the composition I whipped up definitely insinuates they are in some sort of void in all manner of orientation.
Tips my non-existent hat to our esteemed leader, @quezify, as usual. Green just makes most eggs look even tastier.
Almost forgot the speedpaint again, but I didn't! SO HA! I used this same reference last year to draw the eggs in the ramen I drew too! This time I did a closer examination of those deep orangey yolks!
I have a gift for you and it is IRL Laios and Senshi
youtube
Someone gave this lovely Korean couple a supermarket that will sell them American cheese 100 slices at a time and I just… yeah it’s them
They have also acquired ostrich eggs and on the one hand they are the perfect people to have them and I’m delighted they did but on the other hand it does feel like someone should be trying to stop them
Not succeeding. Just… trying

I now feel a very visceral understanding for Marcille and Chilchuck’s experience because I am watching in mild horror but I would also have no choice but to try it given the chance
Note: if you’re gonna be a chickenshit about unusual ingredients you haven’t eaten before your Laios or Senshi fan card will immediately be revoked I do make the rules
There’s a bunch of fascinating things they’re doing with tripe and organs and things I’ve never eaten and absolutely none of it gives me the visceral urge to run of boiling noodles in American cheese
Also their mayo is in The World’s Worst Squeeze Bottle it looks like tentacles and it gives me inverse ASMR so watch with caution for shit to get weird but none of you are gonna embarrass this fandom by saying something like “oh gross guts”
The channel is called Try To Eat and I’m not gonna lie I have complete faith in their abilities to eat absolutely anything they want to
Tonkotsu Ramen (Featuring Ramen Egg, Enoki Mushrooms, Kikurage/Wood Ear Mushrooms, Chashu Pork, and Green Onion Garnish.)
Clip Studio Paint, Gouache Brush, 20 colors, ~1 hour (I forgot to count, I got too into it.)
Tonkotsu ramen has to be one of my favorite comfort foods, especially with all the good stuff you can put in it. I’m a sucker for mushrooms if you haven’t noticed. Love them almost as much as I love eggs. Strangely I’m a bit picky about pork, but chashu pork is always so tasty that I’ll just wolf it down. No picking around the fatty bits or picking it apart for fear of gristle. Just shove the little slabs of meat in my mouth and delight in all the flavor.
Used the same technique as last time, which means a lot of the detail got covered. But it ALSO means less volleying between colors and a better end product in my opinion.
Getting ahead and doing/posting this Eggtober item early today since I keep waking up late and getting to my egg art at midnight. So technically I did an egg, took a break, and then did another instead of going straight into other stuff. Honestly? A delightful way to spend my time.
Once again, huge thanks to @quezify. Art is actually starting to be fun again. For the longest time I was so shy about it because none of my stuff measured up to my own expectations. But I’m honestly just... starting to love the process and the product again. The stress of it is just... melting off. I find myself EXCITED to draw a new egg every day. Best Inktober niche ever. All eggs. 😊
[id: two images of a ramen bowl i made for myself. it's broth is a warm brown and its topped with bok choy, green onions, and a soft boiled egg. the first image has the egg intact while the second has sliced in half. end id.]
