wait i just realized u like spider man (in ur carrd). PLEASE talk about him i love him too (he is bi trans btw. canonically. in my head. but canonically)

HEHE i love spideyman it is one of my longterm interests since i was like 15 and ur so right he is literally one of THE trans bi guys like transbi was created for peter parker. i think taking a paragon of masculinity and having him be transgender is actually one of the coolest thing you can do like i'm sorry for adding depth... as if it's my fault... also i'm going to be so real i got this ask but all my comic scans are on my laptop and i ended up getting distracted and read all 5 issues of spider-geddon on my phone bc it has one of my FAVOURITE 616 pete designs BUT !!!! LOOK AT HIMMMMMM . literally peak design choice and he's all banged up .. :( the little cast he made himself

what i was going to say is a few years ago i got very into the comics the into the spiderverse movie was based on which is a really fun run ... such a little treatie just for me. also as an aside i love hobie sm too i can't wait to see him in itsv despite the weird way that story might be going i hear... and of course i love miles . hobie :)

some spidey! robin headcanons

the spidey-sense would make robin feel almost normal. now she’s attuned to everything. for once in her life she finally feels normal.

robin is definitely more confident as the spider-woman.

buff spidey robin…

she doesn’t tell steve at first. and she would tell him, she’d love to tell him, he’s her best friend. but she just can’t. (she will, eventually)

her “guy in the chair” is max and erica. erica says she’s friends with the spider-woman and no one believes her (except max of course) but everytime erica calls for the spider-woman she shows up.

robin definitely got stuck to the walls similar to miles in into the spiderverse.

hm. thinking about robin’s, “my whole life has felt like one big error,” but being the spider-woman is the one thing that feels right.

she does eventually tell steve, but it’s kinda similar to how ned finds out that peter is spiderman in spiderman homecoming lol, he’s like “YOU???”

i feel like argyle would be a huge asset to spider-woman

steve eventually joins team spidey, he’s the one who’s constantly making sure robin’s not doing anything stupid. (one time he begs to go on a mission with robin and all he brings is his little baseball bat. it works.)

i don’t think robin would have an inciting incident to become the spider-woman (like uncle ben dying or whatever) i think robin would become the spider-woman because that’s just who she is.

lol sorry can’t stop thinking about robin accidentally climbing through nancy’s window and greeting the end of one of nancy’s guns bc nancy just thinks ‘intruder’ before robin has to rip off her mask and she’s like, “nance! it’s me! it’s robin!” and nancy’s like “robin?!” (except i have a feeling that nancy would find out very quickly that robin is the spider-woman, she’d just keep it to herself and let robin think she was keeping it from nancy)

Let's break down the signs first

We see the return of Ned Bayou as well as FPA, now standing for Food Petrol Etc.

You can buy 9 buns for $21, love the symbolism

There is a Jim sign omg. Baby is having his own bubblegum business

Of course the Bishops sign with 9 lines marked on it

I could've sworn that the black sign says "Dema Vapes", but looking closely I believe it's "Velma Vapes" lol

What is more, the cones (?) are yellow and I'm pretty sure that the fact that there are 5 of them is not an accident

They sold him bread that went bad lol. Nah for sure it's not the case since he gives the same bread to a child

But I believe that the scene and the lyrics are closely tied with Stressed Out

Now the next scene is interesting

I think that the bad weather is a simple metaphor for feelings of anxiety or fear

We can see that Tyler was contemplating then he was suddenly pulled from his thoughts

This is when the scene changes to normal, right? Exactly on the line It's over my head

Then we move to the scene with the kid

And I really believe that this little lad is personification of Ned

Like he has the same boba eyes lol

No but for real, this is parallel to Chlorine - kid is giving Tyler a cup just like Tyler gave to Ned. Yet he accepts it and drinks whatever is inside and Ned just shudders

Another interesting thing, that could make my point more valid is that the kid literally asks Is that a stain? You should change / Are you doin' good? / Did you solve all of your problems? like he knows Tyler very well and is in a way looking out for him

It's like he's keeping Ned by him - okat I'll stop

It might be a stretch, but the N kinda looks like a mirrored band symbol, do you also see it?

I would say that it is a demonstration of the twisted circle that is life

Maybe it's a very basic analysis but I think of all the complicated lore-oriented MVs this one is uncomplicated

What is shown here is how our psyche can play tricks on us and how we can complicate a rather simple situation ourselves

If Tyler hadn't had dark thoughts then nothing would have happened to the bread, so he would have just gone and given it to Josh

This shows how our psyche itself can abolish the situation in which we find ourselves

Looping, on the other hand, shows that as long as we don't do anything about it ourselves, we will be stuck in this fishbowl (see what I did there?)

Maybe it's one big AD to check your mental health and a sign to try to get better

'Cause I feel the pull, water's over my head - this is parallel to Fall Away And I, I can feel the pull begin. But it also gives me the parallel to Holding On To You MV, the scene with the rope

Strength enough for one more time - like I said, this would be the last attempt to change everything

Reach my hand above the tide - it could indicate that his physical strength is also wearing out

I'll take anything you have / If you could throw me a line - again with the line. But it also can mean that he can endure anything now, he just needs a little helping hand

I should've loved you better - this line can be directed both to himself but also to the person who extends his hand to help. He might not have appreciated both parts before and now regrets it

Do you think that now's the time / You should let go? - This line is like both a request and an apology. As if he wants to say “I'm sorry I treated you badly before but please don't leave me when I need help”

Bad place, on a hundred-dollar bass - this line is also giving me Stressed Out. You can imagine the cheap bass being transported on the bicycle right?

Kinda wishin' that I never did "Saturday" - I think that he doesn't mean the MV irl lol, but the regret of taking part in Bishops' manipulation altogether

Is that a stain? You should change - a play with mentioning Saturday and the lirycs She said that I should change my clothes

Are you doin' good? / Did you solve all of your problems? - like I said before I believe that this is Ned looking out for Clancy, wishing him well

Thanks for asking, in a way, but / Accidentally uncovered a new one yesterday - safe to say that he is not doing better lol

What happened to what I brushed under the rug? - what happened to how well he used to be able to hide his problems and true feelings

I used to be the champion of a world you can't see / Now I'm drowning in logistics - if viewed as a fact that he created this world it now looks like he wants to regain all control over it. Logistics is to take care of the management of planning. And once again we see the mention of drowning

The bridge is acting as an externalization of his myhs and fears that even if he is outside the Dema, the Bishops will still have control over him

The entire song is about both regaining conrol over the world of Dema but also regaining control over himself, his psyche.

The main theme is about not going back to old habits.

The most important thing here is progress and pushing forward.

Because one wrong move can make all the work in vain and we will sink to the very bottom.

im a slut for flashbacks im sorry lol

tony stark's daughter (and peters gf) blip while they're on the planet and she's at home.

This can be read as y/n i just cant write in second person sorry lol hope you guys like the name riley.

"I like this dress the most, you would look great in it, Pepper!" Riley said as she flipped through wedding magazines in the compound.

All day today, Riley was trying to occupy her mind and not think about where her dad and boyfriend were doing right now. Peter had webbed her hand to the school bus they were on earlier and told her to stay there and get home as soon as possible.

Riley was resting her head on Peters shoulder when he shot up and looked out the window, “Holy shit.” He mumbled and Riley looked up and over at Peter, “Stay here, okay baby?” He said quickly and turned around and told Ned something, but she was too busy staring at the giant circle spaceship in the sky.

“Pete, wh-”

“Stay here!” He exclaimed over all the commotion that Ned had caused, Riley watched as Peter opened the window and climbed out, “Just- let me know when you get home, okay?”

Riley went to get out, considering her dad made her a suit as well, just in case, he had told her. “Peter you ca-” She was cut off by Peters web hitting her hand and making it stick to the bus.

“I’m sorry! I love you!” He yelled before swinging away.

“God damn it. Ned, can you help me?”

So now she was here, trying to not think about her dad and boyfriend fighting some weird aliens. “Do you want to get married?” Pepper asked while pulling out more wedding ideas from a box she had.

Riley blushed and shrugged, “I dunno. To the right person, y’know? Just- one and done.” Pepper gave her a teasing smirk and they both giggled.

“Like to Peter? Is he the right one?”

Riley smiled and felt her heart tug at the mention of Peter, hopefully he’s okay. “I mean… yeah, he’s perfect! But- we’re still so young.” She replied and raised the magazine to cover her face.

“You guys do seem perfect together, but what do I know? It took me and Tony took forever to get together.” She laughed, Riley smiled and thought back to when her and Peter first met.

“Riley! Hey Riley!” Peter yelled, running up to her in the halls of their school.

Riley turned around, “Hi… Peter right?” She smiled and Peter nodded, his cheeks turning pink. She knew who he was.

“Y- yeah! I saw we had English together, I was wondering if you were willing to help me with my essay?”

“Why? Cause i’m Tony Starks kid? Honestly, just because he’s a genius, playboy- whatever the fuck, doesn’t mean I am too.” She joked, but Peter seemed to think she was serious.

“Uh, no no! I just saw that you had finished yours! I thought-”

“I know, Pete. I was joking… it came off serious- god I don’t know how my dad does it.” She sighed and Peter chuckled. “You can come today over after school? Is that cool with you?”

“Uh, y- your place?”

“Yeah. Or yours, wherever you like! Just let me know.”

“Um-”

“...Are you scared of my dad?”

“.. A little!” He answered honestly, Riley laughed and started walking to her next class.

“So my place it is. You can rip the bandaid off and maybe I can get you an internship with him!” She smiled, sending him a wink.

She knew he was Spider-Man.

"Oh shit." He mumbled.

"I always thought we were weird together." She said honestly, "Like we don't make sense, y'know?"

"No way! You guys are both adorable little nerds who love to geek out over Star Wars and… hot celebrities! I don't know, whatever you guys like." She smiled. Riley laughed and watched as Pepper reached for her glass of water.

"You think they're okay?" She asked, the mood switching to a more serious one.

"I know they are. They'll take care of eachother. Don't worry, hun." Pepper reassured her, "I actually have something to tell you… um, now is probably not the right time, but-" She was cut off by her phone ringing, she sighed and picked up her phone. "Tony?"

Riley quickly sat up and motioned for her to put the phone on speaker, Pepper did it quickly and they both listened to the silence on the other end.

"Dad? Is everything okay? Where's Peter?" Riley asked, her heart hammering in her chest.

"God, kid. It's always about your spider boyfriend. What about your cool dad?" He joked, and the girls sighed in relief. "He's fine, by the way. Um- Thanos is- he's not here anymore. We think he went to Earth. So, here's what I need you to do-"

"Thanos?" Riley whispered and Pepper shrugged.

"I can't… lose you guys, not now. I need you two to promise me that you won't go to… wherever the team is and fight. I need you guys to stay home. Safe. Okay?"

"Tony, what is going on? Who is this Thanos guy?" Pepper questioned and Riley thought about how Peter is still out there. "And where are you?"

"I'll explain when I get home, I promise. Just please do what I asked. I gotta go okay? I love you girls."

As fast as he had called, he hung up.

About an hour later, the girls are still waiting for literally anything from any Avenger.

"That's it! I'm gonna-"

"You're not leaving." Pepper said, flipping through a magazine, "Oooh I like these flowers."

Riley scoffed and walked towards her room, "I'm gonna try something." She called out and quickly typed something onto her computer. About a minute of typing led to her seeing where Peter and her dad were.

"What the fuck?" She whispered, "Pepper?"

"What is it, honey?"

"Um… you gotta see this!"

Pepper rushed to her room and looked at her computer. "How did you learn this?"

"Do you know who my dad is?" She smirked, Pepper let out an exhale and looked back at the screen.

"This says they're on an entirely different planet… I-"

"Well I mean, it could be wrong- it's not- but it could be." Riley shrugged and quickly typed some more before getting two earpieces from her drawer. "Only one way to find out." She said and handed one to Pepper. "Put that in."

"What- you're gonna connect to them and we'll be able to talk to them?" Pepper asked, watching the girl type so many codes and overrides.

"Mm yah. And it should work… right now." She said and pressed enter. "Hello? Peter? Dad?"

There was some static and then Tony's voice, "Oh my god, Riley?!"

Pepper smiled and left the room to talk to Tony without interrupting Riley.

"Ri?! Oh my god- are you okay? How-” RIley smiled and felt her eyes water at Peters voice.

“C’mon, my dads a genius, I can hack into your guys earpieces.” She replied and Peter chuckled. “I’m so glad you’re okay, Peter… I- you left so quick-”

“I know, I’m sorry I just didn’t want you getting hurt, you didn’t have your suit and Mister Stark would’ve killed me!”

“Damn right.” Tony said and Riley laughed.

“When are you coming back?”

“I- I don’t know, baby. Thanos is- I almost had the gauntlet off but then- well, he left. He’s down there we think.”

“What’s gonna happen if the guys down here don’t defeat him?”

“Don’t worry about that, sweetie. We’ll figure it out.” Tony said, Riley sighed.

“Talk to me about something else! What did you and Pepper do today?” Peter asked, he sounded cheerful but Riley knows it was just a front. He was just as scared. And he knew more than her. Riley exhaled and opened her blinds, letting the sunset hit her room, giving her room a nice orange glow.

“Well, we mainly looked at wedding magazines, saw some cute dresses.”

“Yeah?” Peter smiled, his heart swelling.

“Yeah,” Riley giggled, and leaned forward, staring out the window, “Just wedding planning, I have a whole pinterest board for the wed- what the fuck?”

“What?!” Peter exclaimed.

“Oh my god! Pete, there’s something happening…”

“Oh, f- Riley, baby what do you see?” Peter asked, tears already coming down his face as nothing but fear overtook his heart and mind.

“What is it, Riley?” Tonys voice came in.

“It… looks like… dust?”

That made Peters heart stop, it happened. He looked behind him and saw as Mantis slowly disappeared, he choked on the air and

“Dad?... What’s happening?” Riley whimpered, watching as people disappeared on the streets below her, she heard a crash but didn’t dare look up at the sky.

“Riley, honey, it’ll be okay- j- just breathe, like I taught you, remember?”

Riley took in one deep breath and held it for a few seconds before letting it out.

“Dad, I’m scared.” Riley cried and looked at her legs, they were still there. Then her arms, all good.

“Don’t- it’s okay, Riley, you’re okay.”

“Peter?” She whispered, like she was afraid it would happen to her if she spoke any louder.

“Y- yeah, Ri?” Peter sighed, trying to focus on Rileys voice.

“You remember the first time we hung out?” She giggled, looking down at her legs again.

It started.

No pain.

“Yeah, baby.” He laughed, wiping at his face and nose. He felt something was off with her, he knew it was happening.

“You needed help with your essay, but we just ended up arguing over which Star Wars movie is the best?” She smiled as it spread up to her waist, she was half gone.

Peter chuckled, “Yeah. I just had to get to know you better. You were too cute. I didn’t care about the essay.” He replied softly, Tony smiled at their conversation.

Riley giggled, “Peter?... I love you. I know I don’t tell you that enough but- I do. I really love y-”

She was gone. All that he heard now was static and the eerie wind behind him. Tony walked up to him and pulled him in for a hug. All while also letting himself cry.

“Fuck!” Peter yelled, falling to his knees and gripping onto Tonys arm.

“We’ll get her back, Parker. I promise.” He mumbled, his hearing zoning out as heard Pepper walk into Rileys now empty room. He could hear faintly, “Oh my god!”

“Pepper! You stay there, alright? I can’t lose you t-”

“Uh, Mr. Stark?”

Time + Twilight: House Stark

I know they’re all about that loyalty - but specially these two. Time gives me heavy Ned Stark Vibes (the tree, the duty to kingdom and family pull) while Twilights hitting me hard with the Rob Stark vibes BUT I could also see him as a Jon Snow type too. The vibes are there.

Warriors: House Tyrell

He belongs there, I can’t be convinced otherwise unless someone had a strong argument. He’s going to wear the pretty armor and put that fancy footwork to work, ya know? Giving Loras vibes in my mind (rip baby boy you are missed).

Sky: House Arryn

Now this one I could be persuaded on. Really I’m not a fan of anyone in this house, BUT there is a port hole for him to kick people down from the sky to their doom and I just think that sky would have a fun time jumping through that with his sailcloth.

Wind: House Greyjoy

Sailors, need I say more? I can’t see him being as ruthless of Euron, BUT I CAN SEE HIM SAILING JUST AS MUCH!

Wild: House Targaryen

Dragons, need I say more? Because I will! He’s giving me Daemon, maybe Rhaegar vibes. Haven’t quite decided on that one, but regardless, Targaryen lol.

Four: House Baratheon

My mind immediately went Baratheon because of Gendry being a blacksmiths apprentice, but the vibes of Baratheon just feel like they would fit him. Maybe it’s the dark gloominess of stone that surrounds Stannis, but I think it would be a good fit.

Legend: House Lannister

I chose Lannister because I can just feel it in my bones that he could dance his way around people with his words and his sword. He’s the mix of Jamie and Tyrion in that regard.

Hyrule: House Martell

With the way this house uses poisons - I can see Hyrule doing the same (but maybe with potions/spells?)

Anyway, that’s where my brain rot took me lol. Would love to hear more about your thoughts on where they should be placed and the au idea because it’s latched onto me 🤣

FOUR AND GENDRY PLEASE YES YES AKSIAJW Four definitely gives Baratheon vibes but he moved to produce steel for the Night's Watch maybe??? But I agree!! The gloominess and the dark aesthetic for four and the blacksmith fire, so Four. 👀😤✨

Like @lost4pandora mentioned that Hyrule and Legend may be from Essos and came to Westeros, Legend going to King's Landing and I thought to think that he'd have magical rings and use them in secret because he's doing a whole undercover scheme while Hyrule can do magic and isn't as powerful as a Red Priestess though but his magic is a secret!

There's literally a whole new world to discover with the Lu boys and got and to expand their skills as well! 😫😫

Ok so I just finished the episodes and by a cruel twist of fate I once again have to work in the morning so here’s my quick thoughts:

Calypso’s bday was clearly a pride celebration and I love that for them

I actually picked up on it surprisingly fast, like literally when Frenchie left the galley to go prepare for the party

Izzy’s voice is of course always tops, we knew Con could sing but man he really belted it this episode

Ned Low is a dick and deserved what he got

I now stan Hellcat Maggie

Not surprised murder turns Stede on, frankly it was smtg I was always expecting

While their previous two kisses have been sweet and romantic I was happy to see one with some passion

Izzy, Jim, and Wee John in drag mean everything to me

Poor Roach, he seemed to be enjoying his torture

Ngl the episode felt a tiny bit rushed idk if that was just me

Ricky’s a dick and his speech immediately made me think of a gay priest who is denying himself and condemning homosexuality (for which specific priest, just take your pick there are a lot of them)

As much as I like Ed trying to encourage Stede not to “kill in cold blood” I think that ship has totally sailed on both their parts. Even if you don’t claim Stede’s killing of the Badmintons as “cold blood” he did totally set that ship of French aristocrats on fire

I like that the show’s acknowledging that jumping right into sex especially after trauma is not necessarily a good idea no matter how much some part of my shipper heart is like ugh why are they fighting again let them be happy

The second episode in particular Stede spends kind of acting like a dick and knowing Djenks and his team this is on purpose but it’s still unpleasant to watch

I feel like Stede’s fallen into the trap of now that he’s back with Ed he thinks everything is going to be fine and he’s turned Ed into this idealized figure again and is ignoring the actual things that Ed says

That being said, I do agree with him that Ed is being a coward by running off to become a fisherman as if he wasn’t a bloodthirsty pirate who still hasn’t made up for his actions to the crew.

Ed becoming a fisherman is clearly a “I was happy fishing for the first time in a long time I want to hold onto that feeling” decision

Essentially both Ed and Stede are running from their faults and pasts and I think they need to talk it out

Ed seems to be trying to say to Stede that he wants to have time to love himself before falling headlong into a relationship but he missed the mark a bit

Izzy briefly plays Lucius’ role in congratulating them on sleeping together and giving Stede advise

It fits him like an over large suit but I understand they needed a character to fill that role and Lucius has his own plotline now

I do think Izzy is being remarkably calm and that might not last, he’s probably bottling it up

Has the Jim/Olu/Archie polycule expanded to include Zheng? I’m so confused by it all. I don’t disapprove in any way I just feel like some of the relationships in that square are qpps and some are romantic and I can’t really nail down which is which

I feel like most of the cast have gotten hotter over the season. Shows what a few modifications in costuming can do (note, I said in costuming not in body or face or anything I’m not shaming anyone)

At one point I straight up thought Izzy was a ghost the way he kept popping up near Stede and Ed and giving commentary, idk if that was intentional

Izzy is still dealing with his alcoholism and I’m glad they didn’t pretend that’d be solved in a few days

RIP Ed’s leathers, you were hot

I knew there was smtg up with those clocks but I thought there was some sort of secret message in them not that they’d explode. That might be just because I considered it an anachronism. The earliest I can find evidence of a time bomb with a little googling is 1776 but that may be wrong

Who was firing on the republic? Was it Ricky or did the bombs somehow set off the canons on Zheng’s ships?

Stede deserved the beat down he got he was being a misogynistic dick

Also, it’s about time Stede detached from Ed long enough to realize that he hasn’t spent enough quality time with his crew to get them to stay with him when there are other options

Not surprised Ed didn’t kill Ned Low but a little surprised Izzy didn’t, as Izzy’s canonically killed everyone Ed couldn’t

Izzy mentioning how Ed shot him when he told him he loved him and Stede responding as if he’d heard that before I would have loved to see that scene

In general these two episodes felt a little rushed but idk if I’m perceiving that correctly I’m too tired

Hello, I would love your input. I have read so much about Louis ned Lestats relationship, but also Lestats’s relationship with Nicky. And Lestat carries the guilt of what happened to Nicky but he still managed to move on and find love again, perhaps his one true love with Louis and he had his side pieces lol, but they weren’t love. No David can f himself and Akasha…. BUT if we look at the last three books. How happy they are at the end, Lestat and Louis. IF Louis was killed during the end of those books. Do you think Lestat would have recovered cuz he always finds a way to be happy. Or do you think Louis being taken from him, forever would have seriously changed him for good?

I think I‘ve talked about this before - when he thinks Louis has died… Lestat stops to "live". He exists, only.

And there is a big difference there to "before", and to Nicolas.

Because Nicolas hated him in the end, which hurt of course, but also made it easier to move on from - but then, at the end, with Louis?

They had reconciled, they were married, and together and all that. If Louis had really died then? Lestat would have become a shadow of himself. And I can see him become still and vacant like Akasha had been, maybe.

You really cannot compare it in my opinion.

Moving on is one thing - but being ripped apart is another.

Top 5 asoiaf official arts (can be actually good or just funny)

ok I ripped into official art earlier this week so this time I will be nice about the official artists and pick some I genuinely like.

first one (this is probs my utmost fave) by Sam Hogg from the… 2021 calendar I think?? The hair lengths should probably be switched between jam and bri but otherwise I think this is the only official art I’ve seen of the weirwood dream? and I’m so glad it was Sam Hogg’s work because everything she painted for that calendar was stunning, I’m picking this one with my obvs JB bias but I loved all of it

second is Magali Villeneuve’s Lannisters (which she has painted quite a few of, I like her Joffreys). this one I like because it hones really close to how I picture Jaime and Cersei and I think it is low-key also how they picture themselves 😭 also there is not enough art of Jaime in green, the Lannisters do like to match their eyes

third I like this picture of Bran and Bloodraven by marc simonetti. I love his illustrations for Dunk and Egg as well (esp of Rohanne) but this I like especially. it looks like the perfect messy blend of child’s adventure story and eldritch horror movie a la the green knight which is bran all over really lol

fourth, this illustration by Jonathan Burton from the Folio Society’s AFFC. I JUST. I feel like this chapter of Brienne’s is so underrated, it’s so creepy and quiet to start with in this abandoned ruin of a castle and you don’t know what’s coming but that it’s going to be horrid and this illustration just feels like burton read that chapter and he be feeling it. fave.

finally. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a high res version of this but the jam vibes are impeccable. teenager is traumatised but still wants to look cool for Ned Stark. who painted this [edit: it was Michael Kormack]

doodly fic illustration, kenny and cartman about to hit a tree lol

One of Eric Cartman’s schemes, somewhere around the eighth grade in Kenny’s recollection, was this idea of all of the boys in their grade going in on an ATV together. The ATV would (Naturally, Cartman said), be stored in Cartman’s garage. They would sort out a calendar where they each could have turns riding it. To Kenny, who wouldn’t be able to afford an ATV even when he was an adult with a regular nine-to-five, it sounded like a sweet deal. There were three boys that didn’t end up chipping in: Tolkien, Stan, and Kyle. Tolkien said he was morally against giving Cartman money. Stan said if he wanted to be part of a time share, he’d take up the bunny slopes in Aspen again. Kyle had a whole lot to say on it, namely that it was ‘stupid’, that people were going to ‘get hurt’, and that they were too young to be riding ATVs and would need an adult to supervise them.

They spent the entire summer riding without incident. They’d take it on up out of town, past Tegridy and into the woods where the hunters like Ned and Jimbo liked to go. Most of the paths back that way had started as deer trails, split open over the course of three months by the tires of their ATV. It was only the last week of August that Cartman and Kenny rode it out past Stan’s house on the nice dirt roads in the country. Stan had grabbed his bike to ride after them and Cartman yelled, “Get the fuck out of here, Stan! You can’t ride, you cheap-ass!”

“Fuck you! I’m just watching!” Stan shouted back.

“You know you want a piece!”

Stan flipped Cartman off, and Cartman returned it. But he had slowed the ATV so Stan could follow, then stopped it so Stan could drop his bike and perch on a fence post to watch them better.

Cartman rolled his eyes and said, “You’d be riding it if your boyfriend didn’t say no.”

“Are you gonna drive or waste your time trying to rip on me?”

Cartman’s nostrils flared. He’d revved the engine like he was at a drag race.
