Reading Six of Crows for the second time (first time was 5 years ago) and hOW did I never notice that Kaz wasn't actually a moody broody barrel boss?? He's literally so easily entertained!

Like this part (translated from the German version):

Kaz: "When we get our money, you can burn your Kruge to keep warm"

Jesper: "I'm going to pay someone to burn my Kruge for me"

Kaz *catches up to him*: "Why don't you pay someone to pay someone to burn your Kruge for you? That's how the big bosses do it!"

Their voices got quieter as they walked ahead and the others followed them

Choosing was super hard because there are so many insanely good quotes in the books and I love several of them for very different reasons, but I'll try and give it a go anyways. So: five of my favorite Six of Crows quotes (because I still haven't read the SaB trilogy), in no particular order:

Kaz and Inej, on getting back up after a fall:

Get it together, Brekker, he scolded himself harshly. It didn’t help. He was going to faint again, and this would all be over. Inej had once offered to teach him how to fall. “The trick is not getting knocked down,” he’d told her with a laugh. “No, Kaz,” she’d said, “the trick is in getting back up.” More Suli platitudes, but somehow even the memory of her voice helped. alr. is kaz ripped?

Pretty sure it's established in the books, but no, he's definitely on the leaner side. I don't think he eats enough protein (or just enough in general mfer is definitely malnourished) to have significant muscle mass, but based on descriptions, his activity level, and the stuff he physically does on the page we know he's not totally scrawny. My guess is he'd fall between Jesper and Matthias on that scale, but much closer to Jesper.

#i know people want to pretend hes ripped and gorgeous or whatever but this is a malnourished 17 year old. even if he was doing #intense manual labor every day (which we know he isn't) he's not going to look jacked #the only remotely ripped crow is matthias and even then hes not going to have shrinkwrapped abs or whatever #six of crows #kaz brekker #asks
