It is one of those days when your strong opinions about the behaviour of a person is about to be shattered. The disruptive energy they demonstrate around you gets washed away in feelings of compassion and love. It is as if you are beginning to understand them with fresh eyes and cherish how much value they actually make in your life rather than just a constant thorn in your side.

I had neglected the runes for a while - my focus was on other forms of divination - but I'm going to share with you my reading in case it may be of use to you too - except the last rune because, well, it wouldn't be the occult if everything was unveiled.
Tiwaz calls to self-sacrifice and mastery of one's passions - not in order to suppress them, mind you - we are pagans, not puritans, are we not - but in order to channel your energy into something bigger than yourself. This rune is named after Tyr, the Norse god who sacrificed his hand to the fangs of Fenrir the Ur-Wolf in order for this lupine force of pure chaos to be restrained. Balance must be be restored. I see Tiwaz not only as a call to give up immediate comfort in order to work on improving yourself, but as an urge to remember that now is the time for solidarity, not selfishness. Self-care without outward compassion is self-sabotage. What can you contribute to the collective? How can you give back to your wider community? Tiwaz, the rune of the one-armed-god, reminds us to snap out of self-indulgence and self-pity and teaches us that as flawed, wounded, and inadequate as we may feel, we are valuable to society. So, snap out of it and be the change you want to see.
Perthro, ah Perthro. Hello darkness my old friend. That mysterious of runes humbly reminds us that there are greater forces out there, forces beyond control. From gravity to death, from our genome to entropy, there are realities we simply cannot escape or control. In this reading, Perthro acts as a counter-weight to Tiwaz, reminding us that self-sacrifice should not lead to self-righteousness, self-control should not lead to hubris. We may steer the vessel but we do not control the waves of the sea. Chaos will ultimately prevail. Perthro urges us to accept that reality - the sooner the better.

okay, all you amazing witchies out there with more reading than I...
I would like to know the witchcraft books that are not biased against races, sexes, sexual orientations or trans people.
I always seem to come accross books with super casual bigotry in them and I’m tired of it.
+ points for green, kitchen, runes, or water/rain/storms focus
Thanks a whole lot <3

Weekly Rune to Start Off the Week: 10/16/2023
ᛣᛗᛁ
ᛣ Elhaz Reversed- Losing touch with your intuition, sense of vulnerability. Stay on guard for any trouble but don't become paranoid or filled with fear. Take care of your physical, spiritual, mental, and emotional health. Avoid making hasty decisions. Use your intuition to distinguish who is trying to take advantage of you, for your protection. ᛗ Mannaz-  Humanity, the self, support, assistance, intelligence, family. Remember that we, humans, are one and cannot make progress on our own, we need each other. If there is tension between what you perceive as your place in the Universe and who you are, it is best that you maintain self-awareness and choose carefully how you approach some situations (listen to your intuition). Keep an open mind when it comes to receiving help from others and lending a hand to people in need. ᛁ Isa- Obstacles, standstill, stagnation, delay, coldness. You are advised to accept your circumstance as a reality, focusing your energy on making progress to be ready once you are able to. Don't give up trying; don't assume that it is over, this situation is temporary and doesn't mean things won't work out in the end. Evaluate things from a cool perspective and ask yourself if you have been open and expressive about your feelings lately.

Unlocking the Ancient Wisdom: Exploring the Mystical World of Runes
Shaina Tranquilino
August 30, 2023
Tumblr media
If you take the time to observe and look around, we are surrounded by ancient symbols and mystical practices. Runes stand out as one of the most fascinating forms of divination and communication. Originating from ancient Germanic and Norse cultures, these enigmatic characters have captivated scholars, historians, and enthusiasts alike for centuries. In this blog post, we will embark on a journey to uncover the secrets behind runes and explore their significance in contemporary society.
What are Runes?
Runes are a system of ancient alphabets used by various Germanic tribes such as the Vikings during the early Middle Ages. These characters were typically inscribed onto stones, wood, or metal objects and carried deep symbolic meanings. Each rune represents a specific sound, but they also hold broader associations with natural elements, gods/goddesses, and various aspects of life.
The Origins of Runes:
The exact origins of runes remain shrouded in mystery. However, many scholars believe that they evolved from older writing systems like Etruscan or Anglo-Saxon scripts. The earliest known runic inscriptions date back to around 150 AD and can be found across Northern Europe.
The Rune Alphabet:
The runic alphabet is known as "Futhark," derived from its first six letters: Fehu (wealth), Uruz (strength), Thurisaz (thorn), Ansuz (divine breath), Raido (journey), and Kaunan (torch). Over time, different versions emerged within different regions, resulting in variations such as Elder Futhark, Younger Futhark, and Anglo-Saxon Futhorc.
Divination with Runes:
One of the primary purposes of runes was divination – seeking insight into future events or guidance in decision-making processes. To perform a rune reading or casting, practitioners would traditionally draw runes from a bag or scatter them on a cloth, interpreting their meanings based on their positions and interactions.
Each rune carries its own unique symbolism, allowing for nuanced interpretations. Some common interpretations include Fehu representing wealth and abundance, Thurisaz symbolizing protection or defense, and Raido signifying journeys or travel.
Runes in Contemporary Society:
Despite being rooted in ancient cultures, runes have not lost their relevance in modern times. Many individuals find solace in exploring the wisdom embedded within these symbols and seek to incorporate them into their spiritual practices. Runes are often utilized for meditation, personal growth, intention-setting rituals, and even as decorative elements in jewelry or artwork.
In popular culture, runes have made appearances in various forms of media such as books, movies (e.g., "The Lord of the Rings"), and video games (e.g., "The Elder Scrolls" series). These depictions have further fueled curiosity about runes among enthusiasts worldwide.
Runes continue to captivate our collective imagination as powerful symbols of ancient wisdom and divination. Whether you approach them from an academic perspective or seek personal connection through spirituality, exploring the world of runes can be a transformative experience. As we unravel the secrets behind these enigmatic characters, let us honour the knowledge they carry by embracing their lessons with reverence and respect.

New Moon in Libra/Solar Eclipse Reading with Mani
I was called to do another reading with Mani. Again, He wanted to work with both Runic Tarot and the Moonology Oracle deck.
This year has been transitional for a lot of people, and some of you are experiencing an abrupt, painful transition that has found you feeling angry and perhaps despondent at times. But destiny is now in your favor again and you are moving into a more harmonious cycle. But you need to take action. You can give yourself space to heal and move forward as well.
As completed recording the video, I saw Algiz rising from the incense smoke I offered Mani. You are divinely guided and connected, and you are protected. I added the protection message at the end of the video.
Thank you for watching/reading. This is a collective reading. Take only what resonates.

The god Heimdall reaches out for your attention in the three runes that have surfaces today within his family group. His quiet demeanour cautions you that it is not the right moment to instigate changes to any pre-planned events happening today. It is far better to focus on your contribution on what is already in place in making this gathering into a day of great delight and happiness rather than focusing on improving insignificant elements that don’t really in the long run matter to your enjoyment.

Thanks to @scottxlogan and @jdmorganz for helping me design my very first professional looking business cards. Looking forward to getting these in around November 16th. I've got a really good, positive feeling about these and how much they'll do to increase the number of readings I get to do!

longer look - ᚠ
in the runic poems;
old norwegian
fé vældr frænda róge; føðesk ulfr í skóge.
‘wealth is a source of discord amongst kin; the wolf lives in the forest.’
old icelandic
fé er frænda róg ok flæðar viti ok grafseiðs gata aurum fylkir.
‘wealth is a source of discord amongst kin and fire of the sea and path of the serpent.’
old english
feoh byþ frofur fira gehƿylcum; sceal ðeah manna gehƿylc miclun hyt dælan gif he ƿile for drihtne domes hleotan.
‘wealth is a comfort to all; yet must everyone bestow it freely, if they wish to gain honor in the sight of the lord.’
in divinatory practice;
fehu is the first letter in the elder futhark alphabet. it begins the first aett, ruled by freyr and freyja and concerning things in the mortal realm. in reconstructed proto-germanic, it means wealth in the form of livestock, most likely cattle or sheep. these assets would have been mobile, exchangeable, and renewable, making them a vital aspect of any household’s net worth. thus, fehu is commonly associated with prosperity, sustenance, and good fortune. depending on the diviner’s intent, drawing an upright fehu could foretell stable cash flow, a promising state of health, or the just rewards of shrewd investment, whether physical, emotional, mental, or spiritual.
drawn in reverse, fehu serves as a warning of some impending loss of whatever the diviner has been working to obtain. this loss may come in the form of a folly of overconfidence, an unavoidable freak accident, or a betrayal by close friends and family, as in the ancient runic poems. it may, too, be in connection with corruption or greed on the part of the diviner themself. in this context, fehu’s advice is to maintain wise priorities and an objective view. thus, when the setback strikes, the diviner will know whether the situation calls for conserving or distributing their hard-earned wealth.

ᚺᚫᛏ
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
ᚺ Hagalaz- There is something interfering with your progress toward your goal(s) and it is something we can't control, so just be patient and preserve; transformation is taking place but it might be rocky at first. Trust the universe that in the end, you will be in a better situation. ᚫ Ansuz, reversed- Follow the advice that is given to you, even if it is something you don't want to hear or don't want to believe to be true; in the end, it is for your growth and it will lead you to your full potential. Alternatively, be careful that you don't misinterpret things when you talk to others, and try to approach a conversation from a cool standpoint to avoid miscommunication. ᛏ Tiwaz- Put your personal desires aside, at least for now, if there is something more important that needs to be done. Harness your energy into working toward your goals and stand your ground, you will succeed; just don't act impulsively.
