RWBY: Ice Queendom Cartoons Reveals More Forged, July 3 Nippon Premiere

Masumi Asano returns as Glynda Goodwitch The established Japanese website with regard to RWBY: Ice Queendom (RWBY: Hy? setsu Teikoku), the new television anime intended for Rooster Teeth's RWBY franchise, revealed about Friday that Masumi Asano will reprise her role because Glynda Goodwitch (seen below) inside the anime, and that the anime will best in Japan about July 3 in Tokyo MX plus BS11, and in July 5 in MBS. 2020’s Top 10 List Part One!

So here’s a list that no one asked for of the top 10 anime series I watched this year. I wanted to put this in no particular order but I figured I might as well. I’ll also be doing my top 10 fanfics from this year and my top 10 books I read this year so stay tuned for parts 2 and 3!

10.) RWBY

Uuuggghhh I really didn’t wanna put this on here… but I really didn’t watch much this year so I had to I guess :(((

I’m really not liking this right now… if my blog wasn’t sort of popular because of my rwby oneshots I’d consider just dropping the anime all together….

(I’m seriously debating on whether to watch the new season or not)

Honestly, the only thing bringing me back is my unhealthy love for Ozpin, Torchwick, and Ironwood.

Honestly, I’d give this show about a 3 or 4/10…

I used to love it so much but I think the quality of writing is going down and the show is trying to be too many things at once that I’m just losing interest.

9.) My Hero Academia

Why is this so low you may ask? Well, cause I think my main hype coming from this is the manga.

Yes I love the show, the animation studio is freaking amazing and the quality of animation never ceases to amaze me. But I love the manga a bit more.

This will probably jump up in rating around season 5 or 6 but for right now I’ll leave it in the 9th spot :)

8.) Sirius the Jaeger

Oh my GOSH, I want a second season so bad. One of my favorite OC’s I’ve ever made was for this anime (it’s Idris Tana btw) and I actually commissioned artwork for her recently and it’s SO PRETTY.

Anyway getting off-topic, the animation of this show and again with the dark and grittiness of it is what drew me in.

Actually, my late grandma and also my great aunt tagged me in a Facebook post with the trailer when it first came out cause they saw vampires and thought I would like it and that's what got me into this show in the first place.

So thank you grandma and auntie!

But I absolutely adore the soundtrack, the mix of orchestral pieces mixed with the more electro-kinda-vibes is my life (seriously go listen to “The Beginning of the Hunting” it changed my life, as an orchestra and cello geek it made my heart so happy)

7.) Tokyo Ghoul season 1-3

Ok, I’m currently reading the manga after I’ve seen the anime and lemme tell you I wish they didn’t censor the anime so much.

I can’t even find an uncensored version anymore and it makes me so upset.

The darkness and goriness of the manga is what appealed to me in the first place (yes I get weird looks for it, no I will not change my mind)

Kaneki is my CHILD and he CANNOT do any wrong. I don’t care who you are I love him

6.) Ajin: Demi-Human

Uuuggghhh to be honest the anime is kinda meh but my love for the manga is so great I am legally obligated to put this here.

Don’t get me wrong, the animation and soundtrack for this show is phenomenal and I think they got Satou down pat.

But they did dumb down and cut out a lot of interesting scenes. Scenes like how Satou takes down some of his opponents (which I can see why... many American viewers would most likely get offended by it… you manga readers know what scene i mean)

Nagai Kei turns into a bit of a whiny character instead of the smart but exasperated teenager I know and love in the manga is the anime version of Kei going to bite off his own fingers in order to climb a wall into a military base?? Definitely not. Would manga-Kei do that? Well, he already did… so... yes..,

Nakano Kou is still kind of funny but he is so much more fascinating in the manga (his backstory breaks my heart).

5.) Bungou Stray Dogs

Another new one that I was actually recommended by my friend @bright-like-the-sun-00 :) I ended up watching it originally in dub but then went back and rewatched it in sub because I love my children so much.

Chuuya is my bean and I love my OC that I created Charlie Dickens :)

(if you guys could go read her story I’d be eternally grateful).

Anyway!

This show has a fantastic cast in both Japanese and English and the music score is one of my favorites. The characters are so wonderfully hilarious and interesting and fhajxbqbaka I love this show okay??

4.) Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

I actually put this off for YEARS because my oldest step-brother kept saying I should watch it. At this point, I was refusing out of spite cause I’m petty like that. But I finally started watching and-

HOLY-

GUYS

I have never gotten so attached to a character (cough cough Giyuu) so quickly.

I have been listening to Gurenge and Kamado Tanjiro no Uta on repeat for literal weeks now and I still grin like an idiot when listening to them. I also have a potential OC/crossover coming out soon sooooo…. stay tuned??

I also broke my sister cause I showed her a post that said national donut day and had a picture of Rengoku on it… I didn’t understand it until she explained it to me and now I cackle every time I think about it.

3.) Jujutsu Kaisen

@plusultranerd got me into this blame her for the future spamming of your dashboards

GUYS GOJO SATORU IS MY LIFE NO QUESTIONS ASKED

He could literally murder me and I’d thank him. He is the prettiest anime character I have EVER SEEN and I love him so much.

Anyway anime. The show got my attention from the get-go. Itadori is such a fun main character and Megumi is me cause you know dogs.

I think I saw an ad for it and since I have Crunchyroll I figured why not and fell in love with it

AND THE ENDING SONG

BEST ENDING EVER YOU CANNOT CHANGE MY MIND

I put it on sometimes so me and my sister just start jamming out to it and we get the stupidest looks and it is amazing

2.) Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Another anime that I will rewatch over and over again until literally the end of time. Also, another series that I’ve already read/or am reading the manga.

Alphonse Eric is my cinnamon roll you can pry him from my cold dead hands.

I have cold hands and no heart by holy heck my BOY

I actually am buying the special edition hardback manga covers that are coming out and I LOVE THEM

THEY ARE SO PRETTY

Am I talking about the characters or the manga?

My answer is yes

Anyway, all of the characters in this are so wonderfully complex and have motivations and i fall in love with 99% of the characters (except for Shou Tucker, I even like Father actually)

1.) Death Parade

This has got to be one of my top favorite anime of ALL TIME.

I rewatched it early this year and this is one of the very few anime that will get me to cry and this makes me cry every freaking time.

The music is stunning, the animation is magnificent.

For being based on an animated short film, this has such potential for a second season and such a complex storyline was packed into 12 episodes.

I will forever recommend this anime to literally anyone who is looking for something new to watch.

I’m also noticing I have a thing for white-haired male anime characters with really pretty eyes….. Kaneki… Gojo… Decim...

Darker than Black

I didn’t rewatch the whole thing this year but this anime is literally my life. Hei is such a bean and I love him.

Hunter x Hunter

Another anime i didn't rewatch completely but still adore :) I heard they’re continuing it and I’m excited for the dark continent arc!

Dororo

Technically i watched this late 2019 but whatever; I do what I want. The animation was absolutely gorgeous and I loved the gritty darkness of it. Mio will forever be my favorite character; you cannot change my mind. Some parts I did find a bit boring but overall I’d rate this a solid 6/10!

The Devil is a Part-Timer!

I rewatched parts of it and not the whole thing, I also have the first two volumes of the light novels and I forget how funny it is until I actually watch it. It has me laughing every time and never fails to put a smile on my face :)

I was tagged by @the-fifth-marauder101 and shouldn’t it be 21 questions? Ah, well, on to the questions!

Name/nickname: MJ, which are the initials of my first and middle name! At this point, my first name is more of a deadname where I have bad memories attached to it.

Zodiac sign: Virgo, which means I’m neat, organized, and take astrology way too seriously.

Height: 5′7″

Hogwarts house: Ravenclaw, because why would you worry about house rivals when there are so many things to learn about magic?

Last thing I googled: Well, technically it was ‘how do i find the last thing i googled,’ but before that it was: ‘pikachu meme.’ Listen- Listen. My sister texted me a response with the ‘Then Perish’ Obama eyes and so I had to retaliate.

Favorite musician/s: Oof, that’s a tough one... Right now I’ve been listening a lot to The Oh Hellos, Barnes Courtney, and dodie

What I’m wearing: A blueish maybe purpleish tank top, a pair of red with white polka dots pj pants, and my bond touch bracelet which, when I touch it, buzzes my girlfriend’s bracelet!

Dream job: An author. This is the 21st century, though, so that means I’ll be having a nice comfy job working in publishing houses editing manuscripts, as well!

Dream trip: Ireland or Scotland, perhaps, but barring that a cruise into warm waters without the fear of drowning or dying!

Favorite food: Chocolate and shells and cheese macaroni.

Instruments: My favorite instruments to hear are piano and guitar, but I love the sound of violins! If you’re talking about playing, I used to play a little piano, but I lost my keyboard to my brother so I haven’t had a chance to ever practice again.

Languages: English is my only fluent language, but I love the sounds of a lot of other languages! I know pieces of Japanese and French, but that’s because I write characters of those nationalities a lot!

Favorite song/s: Oh, gosh, I could not begin to list all of my favorite songs. Um, I suppose my favorite I could name off the top of my head is a TV On The Radio cover of Wolf Like Me done by an artist named Lera Lynn.

Random fact: I have a high chance of going blind when I’m older because my eyes are weaker than most! I’m already at a -10.25/-11.00 with my glasses and I can’t read with my left eye where I have leftover scarring from a detached retina. I also have joint problems due to early onset arthritis from my mom’s side of the family.

Aesthetic: Ambling through a tall field long since abandoned, palms scrapping against crops and plants you don’t know the name of, a wide-brimmed hat shadowing your face from the sun that is caressing your shoulders and back and leaving her mark, and the sight of a forest in front of you that goes beyond an eternity.

Choose one word phrase: Zettai daijōbu dayo. The “invincible spell” of Sakura from the series Cardcaptor Sakura. It means, “Everything will be alright.”

My theories and hypotheses about the future of the Kingdom Hearts franchise.

Spoilers for KH3 and KHχ/Unchained χ/Union χ/Back Cover and possibly future games below

If Brain really is the “virus” then he’s most likely also the one who killed Strelitizia. I always found him to be super shady.

Vexen and Demyx aren’t “dead”/recompleted and we’ll see their own advanced nobody minions either in a future game or they are dead and they and their own advanced nobody minions will be fought an “Episode Roxas” DLC that explains where the heck Roxas came from after his heart arrived in Radiant Garden because he just fell out of the air instead of using a dark corridor, which as he is a nobody, he has access to.

Because they both take place in Shibuya, we’ll get a hybrid world of The World Ends With You and Verum Rex, the Verum Rex part of which will draw heavily from Versus XIII. (Verum Rex is Latin for “true king” (”but” for Verum is a fake “suggest an improvement” on Google Translate that somehow slipped through the cracks, always click on the translation for a dropdown to be sure that you’re getting words right) and Yozora is Japanese for “night sky” while Noctis’ full name is latin for “night light sky” btw, Noruma really IS salty, also).

The Verum Rex/The World Ends With You world will be in a Dream Drop Distance-style spinoff or it will be DLC for KH3.

About half of the KH3 DLC will be cut content. Be sure to raise an uproar if it’s paid DLC, too many people bent over backwards when it happened to FFXV but raising an uproar worked for BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle when half of team RWBY was paygated and frankly I doubt Squeenix is going to get away with it this time.

Edit: Final Mix material will be international paid DLC content with “Complete Editions” replacing Final Mixes.

All of the Fortellers will betray MoM because either MoM is the real traitor or the all of the Fortellers are. Because Ava knows who the real traitor is MoM probably kept her busy with some sort of distraction to prevent her from telling the other Fortellers when they returned, while they were lied to about her being away on her own mission.

If MoM is the real traitor Luxu/Braig of course already knows but he doesn’t care.

If I am wrong about the real traitor, the other fortellers will either betray MoM or somehow get redeemed at the end anyway because this is a Final Fantasy game (and let’s be honest, every seeker of darkness that wasn’t a (complete) Xehanort aside from Vanitas has already had their redemption).

Maleficent and Pete will never be relevant to the plot.

Kairi will never be useful.

ADDIE WIOVBX Demyx/David Bowie DJ Myde will never be useful.

Lea will still be a sentimental fool who can’t properly wield a keyblade because his heart is too weak due to his sentimentality and will continue to insist on being called Axel by Sora, Roxas, Xion, Ventus, Kairi and Namine (even though Ven, Sora, Kairi and Namine weren’t his close friends in the original Orginazation but they remind him of Roxas and Xion too much). Also he’ll probably put the marks back under his eyes because it’s long since been proven he still needs them. He will never develop as a character.

All of the heartless except the Darklings in KHχ are fakes from the book of prophecies or MoM’s own powers. There are possessors acting outside of their standard MO as seen in Beast’s castle and in Toy Box (they’re not called possessors in Toy Box but you can see possessors as part of the visual design of the marionette enemies) and if Apprentice Xehanort is right about what Gummi blocks are, then they can’t possibly exist before the keyblade war, yet there are Gummi block heartless in Unchained χ’s story which is a dream of the events of of the Facebook game, which happened before the Keyblade war.

Brain, Ephemer and Skuld will return in the upcoming Lost Masters story.

AU Nylocke (TOME) I’m putting this here because this is the Nylocke that is apart of the Omega Timeline. Where Nylocke had a twin brother (Nye is Colin-based on tta Nai’s name, and Martin- because Martin Billaney), who died. He is also the world’s best hacker, even better than the main villain of the blog, which was revealed once, but never by name. URL with Omega.

Hao Asakura- This was semi-based on the manga and the anime mixing. the story the blog was based off of is actually still on Fanfiction.Net i named Angel of the Devil (https://www.fanfiction.net/s/6203556/1/Angel-of-the-Devil) Feel free to read it! There are 9 chapters!

Glitchy Red (Pokemon Creepy Pasta)- He was based off of many different piecemeal creepy pastas (Lost Silver, Pokemon Black, Strangled Red, Glitchy Red, small stories about the candle instead of flash, but used in a house it would burn it down, and the rope inside would make you hang yourself). This blog got me into KORN.

Beelzemon (Digimon)- I had him on a blog I have yet to mention, but you’ll see why I haven’t yet, that blog is in a category all of its own~

Luka Cross (OC- No other affiliation)- She is a girl with the power to summon elementals. From fire and ice spirits, to even the goddess of the moon. Her goal is to gain the power of Elder Summoning. Aldo Omega is in this AU as the guardian of the Library of Summoners, and he is an Elder Summon.

Luka (TOME)- She is the little sister of Xirra. A different kind of virus, hers is a contact epidemic virus that spreads through touch. She has her hands covered at all times, and is very shy, but is almost second to none in hand to hand combat, being at least 30 time stronger than her just 4 foot stature would lead you to believe. she is also a lolita that wears extremely tall boots, and yet she is still very short... like just under 5 foot short. She also dates a giant dragon... and she sounds like Hinata from Naruto... she is an actual baby that is months old

Promised Neverland Anime in the Works

One of 2017’s best series — for my money, anyway — was The Promised Neverland, a Shonen Jump title about a group of orphans who discover their home is, in fact, a human farm. The manga has attracted a strong following on both sides of the Pacific, selling a respectable 2.1 million copies since its 2016 debut in Japan. The latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump revealed that CloverWorks is adapting the manga into an animated series, though no personnel or release date for the project has been confirmed. The timing of this announcement is not surprising, given comments made by Neverland’s supervising editor in February. “The manga entered a new arc, and the serialization and story reached its turnaround point,” he observed. “From now on, as the story races at full speed to the end, I would be happy if you continue to watch over these kids as they learn the truth of the world and meet their destinies.” Stay tuned for more details.

Mikhail Koulikov surveys the English-language literature on Studio Ghibli’s films, and discovers that Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away are the most popular — among anime and film scholars, at least. [Anime and Manga Studies]

VIZ just added a new title to its Shojo Beat imprint: Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits, a comedy based on a popular novel series by Midori Yuma. Look for print and digital editions this fall. [VIZ Media]
