with ren and akechi being rivals, it was no surprise that the two of you were both trying to win your heart! the actual surprise was that not only did you end up dating both of them, but ryuji was part of the relationship as well!

ren and akechi aren't too different from each other, while ryuji and ren have a similar taste, even when it comes to the people they date!

but akechi and ryuji are the ones that seemingly have nothing in common except dating you and getting along with ren!

the two of them often butt heads, not capable to get along with each other!

despite trying to get along for your sake, ryuji often gets irritated by the things akechi says and they start bickering!

ren and you always have to mediate and separate them! sometimes, you go help ryuji calm down and ren scolds akechi, while other times you're the one with akechi, while ryuji gets a scolding from ren

ren never starts a fight with any of the two, even if akechi likes to provoke him! though ren is much too level headed to fall for that!

on the other hand, ren and ryuji get along great and always hype each other up when it comes to you! ryuji doesn't mind sharing you with ren at all, even encouraging you to get some alone time with ren!

ryuji and ren are both very affectionate and clingy, while akechi is more reserved, but touch starved. you always have to make the first move with him, while ren and ryuji never even give you the chance to make the first move, given how they shower you with affection

when it comes to dates, akechi always takes you out for dinner in a fancy restaurant! he likes to spoil you and insists on letting him treat you to things!

ryuji on the other hand orders pizza and plays videogames with you! oftentimes, ren joins the two of you for that as well!

but when it comes to dates with ren, you never quite know what to expect! he's the type to take you to places in tokyo you haven't been to before and offer you an entirely new experience on every date!

I think something that genuinely kinda hurts to think about is that to a far greater degree than the rest of the Thieves and divorced from the mechanical necessity of RPG party members immediately befriending you to get the plot moving and bolstering your party, Ryuji kinda seems like he latched onto Joker because he was *lonely*.

As I said it's to a greater extent than the rest of the Thieves, so while others (especially Yusuke and Makoto) are lonely, the enforced isolation imposed upon Ryuji by Kamoshida is rather central to his and that arc.

Like, he has no more friends at school because the ones he did have turned on him after he hit Kamoshida, the rest of the students now regard him as a delinquent and are even further TOLD not to associate with him by teachers, and the teachers themselves look at him much the same way they do to you, thinking of him as a burden lumped upon them.

There's something so earnest and sincere about Ryuji immediately opening up to you, giving you his number, asking to hang out. It goes beyond what's just expected in one of these sorts of games and is reinforced by the fact that Ryuji, before you and the Thieves, was lonely.

My heart swells when I think about Pegoryu. I know all my homies are Shuakepilled and I am too — but I am a sucker (a SUCKER) for friends to lovers; for jock Ryuji, the outcast, to discover his sexuality through the quiet new rebel transfer student.

That blend of bromance to romance is so innocent, warm and sweet. The loyalty and protective instincts? Ren awakening his Persona to PROTECT Ryuji? Ryuji throwing himself in front of Ren constantly to protect him in turn? I’m feeling faint.

I also enjoy Pegoryu mostly in the flavor of Ryuji not knowing he’s bi, but sweet country boy Ren knowing his own sexuality and being able to patiently coax Ryuji towards that discovery (gentle “casual” touches, playful flirting, idk very casual affection?? Ren is touchy headcanon accepted) — but also letting that discovery happen at his own pace. Setting the stage for Ryuji to make a move, even if he’s stammering and sweaty and maybe shaking a little after he goes in for the first kiss. It’s so sweet. Ryuji is so in love with him lol

the four of you were the original phantom thieves and the ones taking down kamoshida's palace!

there was a great chemistry between you from the start and it barely took any time until the four of you started dating

by the time you first met yusuke, you were freshly dating, so he and all the phantom thieves coming after you only know the four of you as a couple

they can't even imagine a world in which you aren't dating! they are so used to it that seeing one of you without the other three simply feels odd!

out of the four of you, ryuji and ann are the closest! after all, they know each other the longest and are the most comfortable around each other, functioning as the backbone of the relationship!

but really, all four of you are close with each other! there's a deep friendship that laid the groundwork to your relationship, connecting the four of you intimately

ryuji and ren are often mistaken as just friends, even when it comes to ann! they treat each other rather casually, leading to them being mistaken for being simply friends

ann too treats the two boys like they are her best friends, often teasing and annoying them, which leads to people focusing on your friendships way more

but really, without those friendships connecting you, you wouldn't work as well as a couple!

plus, people don't always get to see the four of you being soft with each other! for example, ann shows her soft side towards you far more openly than her soft spot for ryuji and ren!

meanwhile the two boys are more affectionate in private! though ryuji does like to brag about dating you, ren and ann quite a bit…

when it comes to dates, the four of you end up going out to eat around 90% of the time! whether it's sushi, parfaits, crepes or anything else, ann and ryuji can devour multiple portions each time! those two really have a black hole in their stomaches…

the other 10% of the time you end up spending at leblanc, occasionally even holding sleepovers there! though sojiro always lectures the four of you not to do anything stupid while he's not there to supervise you…

another person that has to be around the four of you a lot is morgana! he's not only your biggest supporter, but also your biggest hater!

he's overall happy that the four of you found each other, but having to watch you be all cute with each other while he's single annoys the hell out of him sometimes…
