Danganronpa 4 - All Stars

Chapter 2 - The Confusion Continues and There's Now Too Many Companions

I ran out the door to try and stop Christian as he rushed towards the group. I definitely could have caught up to him but I stopped in my tracks the second I saw the walls. Huge grimey walls confined us into the field, they stretched upward for miles. I quickly glanced back to see behind the storage room there was another one. We’re boxed in. The wall looked like it was made of a dark stone… No way, we’re in Maze Runner?…, SHIT CHRISTIAN!

I whip my head back around and see him still approaching the group, his hands curled into tight fists as he does. The group is mostly facing away from us and haven’t noticed him yet. ‘I should do something.’ I think to myself as I run towards him, quickly followed by ‘Yeah no shit.’

“CHRISTIAN CHILL!” I shout at him. He doesn't seem to hear me, but a girl with light blue hair does. She turns around, notices Christian approaching them, and immediately panics. Quickly grabbing the hand of a girl with gold-streaked hair, they take off in the opposite direction while the girl screams, “RUN YOU STOOPIES!”

The others seemed confused at first, then a guy with red headphones also sees him and points at Christian rapidly approaching, the panic spreads to them. Some of them take off screaming in other directions, one of which being the headphone guy who screams “RUN LIKE YOU'RE TRYING TO GET DRAFTED IN THE NFL!!”

Two of them, one wearing what seemed to be the meme glasses and a lab coat, the other wearing a bright red leather jacket, jumped over what appeared to be an elevated circular stage and hid behind on the opposite side.

The person Christian seemed to be targeting was a girl with bright pink hair and a purple hat. Suddenly she pulled out what seemed to be a staff almost as tall as her. She held it out infront of her like a spear, a look of annoyance on her face. As Christian approached, she swung it at his stomach. Christian ducked down, rolled to the left, and tried to punch her, but she caught his fist with her hand, hit him to the ground and started to beat the ever living shit out of him with her stick.

“Ow! Fuck! Stop!” Christian yelps as he curls up into a ball on the ground to protect himself.

‘The Ultimate Boxer everyone, feast your eyes on his power.’ I think to myself as I finally reach him. The girl stops for a moment and gives me a look before pointing her staff at me.

“Um… Hi?” I apologetically say. How do I even continue this Conversation?

“Why did this guy try to attack us?” She asks as she hits Christian one more time with the stick, making sure he’s no longer a threat, and then holding it to the side.

Christian starts to get up. There’s a couple bruises forming on his neck and arm, but he ignores them. “He told me to attack!” Christian says pointing to me, then rubbing the bruise on his forearm.

“BITCH, I said you might need to attack them if they were a threat, you just charged out the door as soon as you saw them!” I tell them.

“... Shit, my bad, I heard a fight and then just tuned out everything else I guess?” Christian pleads his case.

“Do you guys swear in every sentence?” a voice mutters behind us. The three of us turn around to see another girl who looks alot like the staff lady, only she has softer pink hair tied into loose pigtails and she’s wearing what looks like a cake on her head. “...At this point I should find a bar of soap and shove it down your throat.” she continues, looking directly at me.

‘WHY IS SHE ANGRY AT ME?!’ Is what I wish I could scream, but that would probably result in me also getting jumped by Staff woman. “My bad,” I apologize as I bite down a couple insults.

The other people quickly return once they realize the threat had been dealt with. Though this one girl with flowers in her hair returns while gripping a watering can a bit too tightly, like she’s going to throw it at my head. After a couple more apologies and explanations from me and Christian, the group is still on edge, but they’re willing to forgive us.

I take a quick head count. Fifteen, Including me. The number seems wrong for some reason, but I'm not sure why. It's not that I miscounted, but it feels like we're still missing someone…

“Were you guys also kidnapped?” The blue haired girl questioned, snapping me out of my head. The idea forming in my head quickly evaporates.

“Yeah! I managed to break one of their noses, though.” Christian exclaims, displaying his bloody shirt.

“Dawg you gotta wash that thing. That's disgusting.” The guy wearing the meme glasses says. I can't help but notice the stethoscope around his neck. Is he a doctor? If he is, why doesn't he have a bag or something to keep it safe in?

“Do you guys have Ultimate Talents too? The rest of us have one, so it's most likely you guys do too.” Watering can girl asks us.

“I'm the Ultimate Investigative Journalist, Curt Richy” I tell them.

“Christian Aki, Ultimate Boxer.” Christian mumbles, he's rubbing the bruise again.

The girl with gold streaks in her hair is about to ask something when a red leather jacket man interrupts, “Fifteen Ultimates kidnapped and imprisoned, this has to be the work of some cult, But that’s just a theory-”

“Anyway, before anymore of us go insane like this guy,” the girl scoffs, cutting off the guy, “Shouldn't we try and find a way to escape? I really don't want to be here any longer.”

“Pu pu pu pu. Are you kids done yapping!?” A voice behind us says raspily. “I'm trying to start the introduction ceremony!”

All of us turn around, the circular stage from before is glowing an ominous red shade and standing on top of it is… a teddy bear? The right half of it looked like a simple polar bear plush, however it was the left half that confused me. The left half was completely black with a sinister grin and a red eye that seemed to be the source of the glow. Despite the odd look, the bear also struck me with that strange sense of Deja vu like before. ‘What is that thing?’

“NOO IT'S FREDDY FAZBEAR FROM FNAF!” the red leather jacket guy shrieks, he hides behind the girl who cut him off earlier. She shoots him a dirty look but he's too scared to notice.

“DON'T YOU ASSOCIATE THAT DISGUSTING FRANCHISE WITH MINE!!!” The bear on the stage roars out. His raspy voice makes it painful to listen to.

“Then what even are you and why are we all here?” The gold hair girl asks.

“Pu pu pu so as you see, I welcome you to… Wait, SOMEONE IS MISSING! My introduction is RUINED!” The teddy bear wails.

I, along with a couple others, cover my ears in pain. ‘Why does that motherfucker scream so loud?!’

“Why don't you find them yourself?!” The guy with red headphones shouts, “Then you can shut the hell up and drag your furry ass out of here!”

“No way! They're WAY too heavy, it would be like dragging 90 kilograms of metal!” the bear yelps.

‘What kind of person weighs 90 kilograms?’

“Then we’ll do it.” A new voice says. A girl with dark cyan hair walks out of the crowd, “If it will allow us to proceed with this ‘Introduction Ceremony’ then it would be in our best interest to do so.” She seems polite but pretty forceful at the same time. The way she stares at the bear reminds me of an Ultimate I wrote an article about, Celestia Ludenberg. ‘I wonder if they’re related?’

“Y’know what, go ahead. I’m probably not going to get paid now that I messed up.” The bear sighs as it kicks at the dirt onstage.

“You’re being paid to keep us here?” I ask. ‘Maybe the cult idea wasn’t that far off.’

“Nope! But you chumps will figure out the reason soon enough! Pu pu pu pu pu,” The teddy giggles as it spins in a circle, “By the way you might need these!” He says as he chucks an Ipad at full force towards my head.

I drop myself down to try and dodge the Ipad, it misses me but I hear a smack, I turn to see the guy who was wearing the meme glasses is clutching his face, there’s blood dripping from his nose. I look down and see the Ipad and his glasses are laying on the ground. “My bad man, let me just…” I hand him back his glasses and grab the Ipad from where I’m sitting and power it on. The screen lights up, front and center it displays “Ivan Animated - Ultimate Doctor” on the screen.

“Who’s Ivan?” I ask the group as I show them the screen.

“It’s me,” the meme glasses guy says while pinching his nose to stop the bleeding. I hand him the Ipad.

“It’s kinda Ironic how you’re the Ultimate Doctor, but you got hurt.” Christian says nonchalantly.

“As long as this doesn’t become a regular thing, I’m fine.” Ivan says as he continues to deal with his nosebleed.

“These are your E-Handbooks, or as I like to call them Monopads!” The bear announces. The red jacket guy jumps in fright again. ‘Guess he forgot the bear was still there.’

“What do you mean by these, it’s just one Ipad.” Christian points out.

The teddy bear pulls out more of his off-brand apple products from, I guess his fur? Because there’s no way they were just sitting behind him.

“Where did you get all those E-Handbooks from?” I question the bear.

“Not important!” The bear says to brush off the question. Before I can ask again he begins to throw the E-Handbooks at us.

After a minute of trying not to get hit by the Monopads, trying to find who’s Monopad was who’s, and chaos in general. Everyone had their own Monopad, except for me because I had two.

“You can just give it to the other student when you find him.” The bear told us, as it started flossing. I didn’t understand that thing at all, and I don’t plan on figuring it out. I tried to turn on the Monopad to at least find out the sixteenth student’s name, but there seemed to be no way to do that. “Their Monopad is a special one, they’re the only one who can turn it on. I guess with that I’ll leave you too, come back here once you find ‘em. AND DON’T KEEP ME WAITING!” The bear says as it merrily skips away behind some buildings in the far distance.

We all stand there silent for some time, until Christian breaks the silence, “Was no one else gonna mention the fact that the furry was just flossing for no reason?”

It’s enough to get most of the group, including me, to lose it. The guy in headphones has his hands on his knees and is wheezing “No cuz, dude really tried to threaten us with a bunch of Fortnite dance moves.”

“Well if you all are in higher spirits, it is best we find said ‘Sixteenth Student’ so we can figure out what the bear wants.” The cyan haired girl says.

“Where do we even look? This place is kinda huge!” The blue haired girl asks.

“I think I saw a map in front of that building back there,” Headphone guy mentions while pointing towards a log cabin far behind us, “It’s really shitty though, so I didn’t bother checking it out.”

“In that case, I guess we’ll check out the map.” I say making my way towards the big cabin. As funny as the bear seemed, it clearly was a threat. He said so himself, he was getting paid to do this, but who is behind this? ‘Dammit I should’ve pushed the question harder instead of getting distracted!’ I think to myself. ‘Y'know what, we’ll find the sixteenth student, then I can go get Christian and we can question him together.’

I stop in front of the map and slightly frown at the thought. ‘How’d I come to trust him so quickly?’ Sure he seems like a cool guy, and he did jump onto my plan without a second thought… I guess something deep in my lizard brain wants to latch onto the closest thing to friendship I've had in awhile. ‘It wouldn't hurt to have an ally for now, would it?.’

I turn my attention back to the map to see if there’s any clues to where we are.

Headphones guy was right, this map is shit. Most of the map is just gray with question marks, none of the buildings are labeled, and the compass is facing the wrong way!

“It could just be that I’ve spent too much time studying pixels in videos,” The guy in the leather jacket says, “but I’m pretty sure there’s not that much detail on this map.”

“Well it appears that this map is all we have.” The cyan haired girl says, she pauses in thought before continuing, “I suggest we all split up and look for the student.”

“That’s a horrible idea, what if the bear uses this as his chance to pick us off one by one?!” The leather jacket guy once again clutches onto the girl with gold streaks in her hair. She gives him a ‘what the fuck’ look but he’s hanging on for dear life.

“Hol’up, Rewind,” Christian Interject, “Can we get your names? Cuz I’d much rather figure them all out now, then struggle with them later.”

Learning everyone’s names would probably be useful “Plus, we introduced ourselves earlier” I add onto Chrsitian's point.

“There's like fifteen of us. Won't it get confusing?” Gold streaked hair girl says.

“How about we all just stand in a circle and introduce ourselves one at a time? Y’know like kindergarten?” The blue-haired girl suggests.

Sorry the new chapter took so long. As you might have noticed, I added a couple of images that might make the fic more interesting. That, plus burnout and my sibling's Bday happening. So yeah, the new chapter will be out as soon as possible.
