Genuinely, fuck everyone who says the League of Villains is not a friend group/family.

They might not be the healthiest one, might be complicated, but there was love and friendship and grief and pain. There was happiness too, a sort they didn't think they could experience again. Loyalty and company, joy and comprehension. Anger amd hurt, there was life. They were alive.

This season really turned up on the horror!!!

I have to admit though, at the beginning of this series, I would not have guessed that out all the League, it's Spinner that becomes close to Tomura. It's a pleasant surprise though. I mean, I have a soft spot for characters that at first glance you didn't think would be buddies later on.

By far, this was the most gut punching arc of the anime. I had cries, laughs, screams, times I rethink my life choices...

With his big moment drawing near, I thought it may be fun to talk about what had been my key Mr. Compress headcanon prior to the actual reveal. For reasons that will become obvious, this was completely shelved as any legitimate theory after Hawks appeared, but it was still fun to think about.

Have you ever seen the film Donnie Brasco? Well, essentially, my idea for Compress is that "Atsuhiro Sako" was not even a real person. His real name, I never thought of (maybe if I ever develop this into a full AU, wink, wink), but the true man was an agent of the Commission (or at the time before the Commission was introduced in the manga, the NPA), sent undercover into the League following the Hero Killer incident under the guise of common yet charismatic thief Atsuhiro Sako, allias Mr. Compress. His task, to report back to his superiors from the inside of the League.

However, as time went on, "Sako" would begin to question his loyalties. Particularly with his fatherly bond with Toga and Twice, he would start to genuinely emphasise with the struggles of these villains and as such, the lines would slowly blur. He would start feeding incorrect information to the Commission, while playing more active roles in the schemes of the League. Essentially, falling to the side of villainy himself. Ultimately, he would be forced to pick a definite side, probably at a large scale battle akin to Jaku. And the choice he would make...

Dunno. Never got that far.

But yeah, it's pretty wonky, I know, but I have a soft spot for it. I kind of do want to develop it into a full story, now that the BCS saga is concluded. That may be a thing that happens at some point.
