Summary: Uma and Gil were the only people in the world that he'd shown any part of himself that could be considered weak, because on the Isle, showing that side of yourself to people you couldn't trust meant a knife in the heart. So really, it makes sense that they'd be the only ones to see this odd flustered side of him. With the way they kiss him and praise him and make him giggle till he's red in the face, it's no wonder.

Until the barrier came down, and all of Audrey's prejudice with it.

Part 1

Guilt eats him alive, the same way rage bubbles up in his chest when he thinks about her and this whole situation. Here he's got two wonderful people who, for as long as he can remember, were the only people he could really rely on, could really love. And here he sits, still wanting more.

Because suddenly Audrey took his hand in the midst of festive music and smiled at him like he wasn't just a Mad Hook boy. She twirled around him and threw her head back with even the worst of his pick up lines. Her eyes shun with wonder when he pulled out his hook, even when the others around him flinched back, like he was readying himself for battle. He wanted to hate her, if only to get that familiar flutter out of his chest whenever she so much as glances at him. But she makes it impossible, with her windswept hair and her radiant smile. He despises the way it makes him act like such a fool.

He's Harry Hook, feared son of the Neverland captain himself, he's not supposed to trip over himself when he sees a pretty girl. And still he barely stutters out what he can manage whenever she greets him. He's never felt so incompetent. Even in the days he was desperate to prove himself to Uma, even when they realized Gil was meant to be theirs, he had been sturdy. His charms were still vibrant, and even with the manic Hook blood inside of him, he never made a mistake.

But now Audrey has squirmed her way inside his chest and inbetween his ribcage, right into the creases of his heart, and he doesn't know what to do with that.

Until the barrier came down, and all of Audrey's prejudice with it. She had smiled at him, kind and genuine. No expectations of 'Isle Kid Hook' or 'Monster Villain Kid.' Just a simple smile.

He hasn't been able to stop thinking about her since. It drives him mad.

So the guilt eats him alive, and whenever he kisses Uma, whenever Gil clings to him, he feels like he's betraying them.

So he hides it, tucks it away deep inside and hopes it will just—

Go away.

"You're not subtle." Says Uma, legs laid out over Harry's, back against the armrest of their new Auradon couch. "You've been avoiding her like the plague."

She nods to Audrey, sitting on the floor with Gil, showing him what a puzzle is supposed to look like when they actually have all the pieces together. They're laughing and grinning at each other like they're having the time of their lives, far enough away that they can't hear Uma's low voice. Harry very nearly tenses up.

"Maybe I just can't stand the lass." He says instead, not bothering to look away from Audrey. Uma can't help but scoff.

"Right, that's why you can barely speak when she's around."

Harry goes red in the face, hoping that it's not noticeable to anybody but him. "Yer Crazy." He says, barely shifting his eyes to say it.

"Oh I'm crazy." Uma raises an eyebrow and pushes herself off the armrest of the couch, he finally looks at her, "Is that coming from a Hook of all people?" Shes got a smirk plastered on her face, a challenge she's hoping he'll take the bait for. And he almost does, ready for a shift in conversation so they can go back to pretending he's not madly in love with an Auradon girl.

Oh gods he's in love with her.

Uma doesn't let him bite, she reels back just as calmly as she had leaned out before he can even open his mouth, "You like her."

And sure maybe it's an understatement, compared to the earth shattering realization he's just had in his own head, but it makes him freeze nonetheless. He goes pale and rigid, color draining from his face as quickly as it had rose.

He flounders, not entirely sure what that look Uma's giving him means. His jaw clenches, even as he's working it up and down trying to gather together a string of words to defend himself.

I'd never do that to you, he wants to say, because he desperately wishes it were true. But he's never been able to lie to Uma, and he thinks her dissapointment would be much worse then any rage she might be harboring.

So it startles him when she starts laughing. Giggling at first, like she had caught him with his hook in a cookie jar, then throwing her head back and clutching at her stomach. Maybe she was going crazy, he thinks, catching the way Audrey and Gil look up at them from their puzzle.

It's not necessarily unusual, the three of them have always been a little mad, some more then others. So when Gil pats at Audrey's arm, gathering her focus back on the puzzle in front of them, showing her exactly how usual this is, it's like nothings happened at all. He can't help but be a little relieved.

Uma's laughter has melted down, back into a fit of giggles. She grins at him, all Cheshire-like. Like she can see all the little cogs turning inside his head. Still, she doesn't say anything, waiting for him to make the first move.

Waiting for him to admit something.

Harry gives up on trying to defend himself, looks away from her and swallows. He watches the pristine white of the floor instead, the way his old Isle boots scuff it so easily. "If you knew," He starts. "why did you invite her?"

Uma gives a disbelieving laugh, "What?"

He turns to her, looking almost worried, almost scared. Entirely too vulnerable. "If you knew, why did you bring her here?"

Uma searches his face, eyebrows scrunched together. He half expects her to tell him to choose. Her or us. You can't have both Harry. He tenses up, ready for any sort of outburst she might have. Ready for her anger and her rage.

"Harry," She says, "You know you can date her, right?"

He freezes, like he's misheard her. He'd gone over this a million times in his head, ready for any compromise she'd bring, ready for any argument and any possible break up. Never had he actually considered her being ok with this.

"I'm uhm—" he swallows, "Wh-what?"

Uma tilts her head, brows furrowed even more, "Did you think we'd suddenly stop loving you just because you've got a crush?"

It's so much more then that, he thinks, but right now he's focusing on working out a response that isn't Yes! That's exactly what I thought! How was I supposed to know I wasn't an awful boyfriend?

He settles instead on, "Um."

"By gods Harry!" Uma sags, she looks shocked, "You're not the only one fond of her. Haven't you noticed?" She waves over to Gil, and for the first time, Harry notices the blush high on his cheeks. Gil looks at Audrey the way he looks at Uma, with awe and wonder and maybe a little bit of obsession. He looks at her like she's hung the moon and the stars all on her own. How had he never noticed that before?

"You really didn't know." Says Uma, watching the realization fall over him. "Harry I've been ogling her since she stole you away to dance. Right after the Barrier fell." She looks defeated, unable to believe he would be so oblivious. "Harry Hook you cannot be this blind. That was months ago."

"I just— I figured ya wanted me fer yourself!" He whisper-yells. It sounds a little silly now that he says it out loud, emphasized by the way his accent thickens in his fluster. They were possessive of each other that was a given, but they had never said others were off limits, not entirely. If you felt a spark, a real one, you could be with them. That was their rule.

"Harry Hook. You are an idiot." Uma deadpans, but even as she criticizes him, her eyes are fond. She glances at Audrey and Gil, and nods over to their puzzle. "Look, they're finishing up." She fixes a look on Harry smirking and winking for good measure. "Go ask her out for us darling."

Like Max returning to school in a new healthy throuple. And maybe they look like a captain of the Lost Revenge and a strong golden retriever third mate of another universe?

It had been five months since the breakup, Aki and Audrey thought they could make it work but…it just wasn’t the same without Max, they just…didn’t work without him. Maybe they weren’t meant to be…but they had to work as a duo again, it’s not like Max wants to ever see them again- but they saw him

It was a Wednesday, Aki and Audrey were on their way to the MET steps to meet up with the rest of the group, when who do they see but Max…and who are those people with him? And why were they so close to him?!

No, no, no- this won’t slide, no one gets that touchy with their boyf- ok, maybe no longer boyfriend, but they still have a right to protect him!

They were a girl and a boy, the girl had eyes like fall leaves and strands of teal woven into her jet black braids. Her wrists were adorned with gold bracelets and her earrings were pearls, but the most peculiar thing was her necklace. A gold naughtilus shell. She was holding Max’s hand and it looked like he hung on every word she said

As for the boy…Audrey was ashamed to admit what she thought when she saw him. He was built like a Greek god with his muscles practically ripping his shirt off, his blonde hair was pulled back in a ponytail with a few strands hanging out, and his eyes were blue, but not the cold, piercing blue like Max’s, they were a warm and friendly blue, like a summer day. The boy was laying in Max’s lap, listening to the conversation with a goofy smile on his face while Max mindlessly stroked his hair

Max himself seemed different…was he wearing eyeliner?

Aki and Audrey walked up to Max and tried for smiles, but before they could get a word out, they were stopped by the girl with the brown eyes

“No”

One simple word cut them down, there was so much power behind it that Aki and Audrey had to stop in their tracks. Max looked up at his exes with unamused disdain, upon further inspection, he was wearing eyeliner

“I thought I said I never want to see you again”

His grip on the girl’s hand tightened

“We were hoping you’d introduce us to your new friends!”

Aki continued trying for that smile and failing miserably

“I thought you were our boyfriend?”

The boy in Max’s lap spoke up

“…boyfriend?”

Audrey stuttered which got a sigh out of Max

“Yes. This is my boyfriend, Graham and my girlfriend, Ulani”

Max explained with an annoyed scoff, wanting this conversation to end as soon as possible. Aki and Audrey looked at Max with shock, then down at Graham and Ulani…what was it with them? Why did they feel so…off?

They didn’t look like Constance students, honestly they kinda looked like they raided Max’s closet and just went with it. They looked like they were dressed as pirates…really fashionable pirates

“How…how did you meet?”

Audrey asked as her voice went up an octave

“Not your business, princess”

Ulani stared daggers into Audrey. For whatever reason, Ulani did not like Audrey. Did Max talk about her and Aki to his new partners? Why was Ulani so terrifying? And why did she smell like the ocean? They are in the middle of Manhattan!

Ulani and Graham started to seem possessive. Graham was no longer lying on Max’s lap and instead had his arm around his waist, and Ulani was practically gripping to Max’s hand and looked like she was ready to charge if her or Aki made the slightest move towards Max

…Ulani and Graham…huh

So while writing this I realized there was so much potential in this concept so I decided “fuck it! I’m writing a fic” when’s it coming? Eventually- we’ll see how much gets done- but it’ll happen!

One for George and y/n: Easter egg hunting at the Burrow with all the Weasleys (George's siblings and their children)

Easter at the Burrow was always one of the things you looked forward to the most, especially now you had children of your own with George.

Ever since the first grandchild had arrived, Molly and Arthur had started a wonderful tradition of a magical Easter egg hunt on the land surrounding the house.

Your daughters were 5 and 3, both now at the age that they took the egg hunt very seriously, especially as they were essentially competing against their cousins. George had given them tips before hand, because of course he had, and you'd arrived at the Burrow with two very excited children. And a very excited husband, who had been to set up the race with Arthur earlier that morning, no doubt putting his own mischievous twist on the egg hunt.

The wonderful thing about Molly and Arthur having seven children was that as you all grew up, the number of family members inevitably doubled and then tripled, at least. Siblings, spouses, children, cousins; everyone packed in to the space you'd always loved, the heart of the family- the Burrow.

You were immediately greeted by most of the Weasley siblings and their partners, the kids all chasing each other and giggling in glee with squeals of delight echoing through the open fields. Bill and Fleur, Ron and Hermione, Harry and Ginny, all of them stood around tables of food and drink that you knew Molly would have agonised over all morning. You couldn't see Percy or Audrey but you could see little Molly and Lucy running around with Victoire, Rose and Lily and so assumed that they were around somewhere. It was always funny to see the entire family gathered together, the sea of Red hair only broken up by a few blonde and brunette children running around.

"Rory! Poppy!" Dominique squeals in excitement, spotting your daughters and immediately falling into an excited conversation that was almost too high for adults to hear, their excited squeals and giggles so loud it almost made you wince. She pauses briefly to flash you a smile, missing her two front teeth. "Hi aunt y/n, hi unky George! Come on, Granny's got toffee!"

Now child free, George smiles at you as he takes your hand and leads you down the path towards the Burrow, greeting his family with warmth. You mingle through the crowd until you make your way inside, offering Molly some help in the kitchen.

"Oh y/n dear, you just get prettier!" She says with a wide and motherly smile, approaching you with hands outstretched as she pulls you in for a tight hug. She's all dressed up in her most vibrant colours, a glittery beret clip in her hair with the signature apron tied around her waist.

"Right, almost time!" Molly says with delight as she steps outside, giving Arthur a little nod who claps his hands together and smiles, walking off towards the back lawn.

You shoot George a little smile as you look over at your daughters, huddled together with the other cousins almost bouncing with excitement. Molly had made a ridiculous number of little eggs for the children, some with chocolate, marshmallow, toffee, everything that would keep your girls up way past their bedtime if they ate too much.

"Right Weasleys," Arthur says, taking lead of the gaggle of excitable children. "Two rules only. Number 1, share and be mindful of your cousins, we want everyone to have fun. Number 2, grab as much as you can! Ready... set.... Go!"

Just as Arthur said the words, a little firework shot up into the sky which transformed into the shape of a bunny in the sky, the words 'this way' scrawled out next to it as it moved towards the start line that Arthur had made. Your mouth opened in disbelief and turned towards your husband who was putting his wand back in his pocket with a mischievous grin. He turned to you and gave you a little wink, little butterflies erupting in your tummy at the look even after all these years.

With a resounding squeal of excitement, the children ran off, following the rabbit, each of them clutching their little baskets ready to swoop on the eggs that had been meticulously placed by their grandad. You watched and laughed as they giggled, all of them picking up little eggs and slinging them into their baskets.

Some were suspended in the air by magic, others tucked into trees and the ground as normal. George had jinxed the tree near the border to rain eggs when the kids ran under it. You laughed as you watched Hugo and Albus scream in sheer delight when they stepped under the tree and hundreds of little eggs rained down on them, dropping into their baskets. They immediately called the girls over to look at what had just happened, all fo the adults watching beginning to laugh when the girls also squealed out in delight as the eggs rained down on them.

"Y/n, can you please watch Louis whilst I go to the loo?" Fleur said from beside you, her French accept as strong at ever, holding out baby Louis, his little blanket covered body making him look like a beautiful little bundle.

"Of course I can," you say with a smile, readily accepting your youngest nephew into your arms, he was crying a little, whimpering and trying to break free from the blanket. Fleur thanked you profusely as she handed over her youngest before walking quickly back to the house.

"Ssssh, it's okay sweetheart, your mummy will be back soon," you coo, assuring little Louis as you rocked him in your arms. He was beautiful, a little patch of striking blonde hair beginning to grow on his head. You adjusted his blankets just slightly to keep his fingers in and swayed with him in your arms as you watched your daughters giggling from higher up the field. The enchanted bunny firework had started dancing around the kids, dodging them and attempting to steal their eggs making them all giggle.

When you looked down at Louis, he was asleep, his eyes closed and looking the definition of comfy, all snuggled in his warm and soft blanket.

"I'll never get over how much that suits you," you hear your husband say, appearing behind you, looking down at the baby in your arms.

"Oh yeah?" You smile, looking up at him as his arm slips onto your shoulder, his lips descending upon your hair to press a gentle kiss just above your ear.

"I think it's your best look," he pauses, "though I do like you pregnant too."

"Well... I'd say you're in luck Mr Weasley," you say with a glint in your eye, watching as his eyes light up even more than the kids collecting their chocolate once he realises what you were telling him.

"What do you think? I think a little boy would be a nice addition," you say, looking down at the sleeping little boy in your arms, imagining one of your own.

"I'll have a word with the Easter bunny," George says with a smirk, leaning down to capture your lips in a sweet kiss, both of you sharing a little moment.

"No way Hermione," you hear from the side, Ron's dead set voice drawing your attention away from George.

"Oh come on Ron!" Hermione says, getting frustrated with him. "For Hugo and Rose."

"You're not transfiguring me into a bloody rabbit!"

Every Opportunity Pokemon Missed by not having Drew in Destiny Deoxys: A Non-Comprehensive But Still Long-Ass list

Art above- credit to the lovely @salon-maiden-anabel ! So. This is a topic that, if my sister mentions, she knows I will go off about it at the dinner table while my mother stares on confusedly. This is a topic I feel very strongly about, and I decided to put it into words for this post-and I KNOW I'm not the only one with strong feelings about this topic! @raich-raichu I know you showed interest in this topic when I said I'd do it so hope you don't mind if I @ you! THIS GOES FOR EVERYONE: PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE REBLOG WITH YOUR OWN OPINIONS AND/OR ADDITIONS ON THIS. I thrive on hearing everyone's takes and opinions. Images are included which makes it kind of long, each number on my list has a corresponding image below. For funsies. Also, I imagine this happening right before the last grand festival, though I know that’s incorrect. It just gives me more developed characters to work with since advanced and battle frontier Drew are pretty different development wise. This is with late AG Drew.

Some background. Why do I think Drew should be in Destiny Deoxys (which will be referred to as DD for the sake of my carpal tunnel)? What is the connection? Why DD and not, say Temple of the Sea? The key is the location. Drew is canonically from LaRousse City. And DD is the ONLY time we ever get to see it. Connection has been established. So... what would he even do in the movie? I'm glad you asked! Let's get into it. A numbered list of every missed opportunity the writers had by not including him.

1.) Character building through backstory. We know little to nothing about Drew's backstory, and this would have been a really natural way to learn more about it. We could have had a scene where we learn, oh, this is the flower shop his mother worked at and he grew up helping tend to the plants or whatever. This is the garden where he met budew. Just little things here and there would have been fascinating, and this movie's setting was a PERFECT opportunity for it. Plus, here's the vision. We get a semi emotional, nostalgic scene with his favorite place as a child, right? Rare Drew emotional moment, maybe sharing it with May and co.? And then, later in the movie, we see that place destroyed by the conflict in the city and we get an emotional sad moment there!!!! And in the ending credits with the song??? WE SEE HIM AND HIS POKEMON STAYING BEHIND IN THE CITY AND STARTING TO REBUILD IT (after waving at Ash and co. on the train back to mainland Hoenn). Guys, my vision is CLEAR AS DAY. Greenhouse time.

2.) Seeing him interact with other characters. Drew isn't the most extroverted guy out there, and we only ever really see him talk to Ash, May, Solidad, Harley, and Brianna. Also, May is the only consistent one in that list. That's literally five people, for those of you keeping count at home. In DD? A large cast of interesting characters for him to interact with, possibly childhood acquaintances that know him! We have Rebecca, purple hair metagross trainer who likes her computer more than most people. Sid, a human golden retriever. Rafe, who's basically Drew but with brown hair and none of the redeeming qualities. The two twins, whose names are never spoken and are only in the credits as Audrey and Kathryn (one of them also has a masquerain iirc, or at least a Surskit!). And Tory, kid who is scared of pokemon and tbh I wouldn't change Tory's role or screen interactions much. I would, however, say the others have a lot of potential for interactions with Drew. Rafe taunting both Ash and Drew at the same time? Rebecca and Drew getting along well because they're the only two who appreciate silence as a form of hanging out? Audrey and Katherine taking little sibling roles, possibly? Tons of possibilities here.

3.) Shamelessly plugging the contestshipping agenda here, but why else do you all follow me? Anyways, Sid from Destiny Deoxys has a sweet but entirely blatant crush on May (who actually knows and does not give much of a shit, though they get along well anyways). Now, I usually do not like jealousy tropes. I think they're easy to do poorly and for them to come across as posessive, which I am not a fan of. HOWEVER, I am a fan of Drew being all moody and bitchy /affectionate. I can see it going either one of two ways: one, we get asshole Drew back from season one of Advanced, who makes snide remarks at Sid who would likely brush it off as fun banter, further annoying Drew who literally cannot get under Sid's skin due to Sid's overwhelming optimism, or two, we get the Drew that has all of his walls up, hiding behind this cool facade of professionalism and aloofness, sort of emotionally overcompensating for trying to hide how much it irks him. Either way, would have been fun. Could have been used for comedy, too, since May is dumb as shit with the guy who has genuine feelings for her, but clocks the puppy love crush from Sid immediately. Would I have trusted the pokemon company to do this trope well? No, but it could have been funny as hell in the right hands.

4.) On that note, THE PASSPORT PHOTO SCENE. May isn't the most photogenic person in the world. Does he tease her about it? Does he make some offhand remark about how he thinks she looks nice before aloof-ly and deftly moving on from the topic, leaving her with the rare compliment as she tries to figure out if he was serious or not (or was it for her beautifly)? Does he show her how to retake it? DOES SHE GENUINELY SMILE IN THAT RETAKE PHOTO, LOOKING AT HIM BEHIND THE CAMERA ROBOT THING???????ASDFGHJKL so much potential with this already gold scene.

5.) More location-based character building. LaRousse City is home to the (or at least a) Battle Tower, and no mention of contests. This means, likely, that LaRousse is a very battle-enthusiast city. Did this make Drew feel like an outcast as a kid, being interested in something different from his peers? Could have been interesting.

6.) Let Drew have his hero moment. Let's be honest- most of the times that we see him, he's being either a jerk (affectionate), head-over-heels in love, or pathetic (see: Who What When Where Wynaut drowning incident). And in what I would categorize as an adventure anime, he has remarkably... little adventuring, save for a traipse in the woods with On Cloud Arcanine. This can be his moment to actually shine! He's obviously a great battler, though he prefers contest-oriented formats. He beat Ash with a type disadvantage. He's a strong trainer- let him put it to use and try to hold off the Deoxys clones (bonus points if he's holding them off from May, not that she needs him to save her ass).

7.) Forced togetherness with the crew. We know Drew has no issue spending time with May, and he's at the very least quite tolerant of Ash. But... Brock? Max? Fun fact, Brock CANONICALLY does NOT like Drew. At all. Calls him nails on a chalkboard. Makes this face at him (pictured below). Look me in the eyes and tell me you don't want more of that. Tell me to my face that you don't want more of him having to socialize and of Brock being... like this. Shit's hilarious.

Look at him.

I need more of this in my life.

8.) The angst. He has his entire city destroyed, let him have a grieving moment for it. Hell, let him have a moment where May tries to reach out and he has to decide if he's going to let her in or shut her out. Does he snap, like he did in May, We Harley Drew'd Ya? Does he let her in, like The Unbeatable Lightness of Seeing? Do the other LaRoussians reach out to him and let him know, hey, we're in this together? DO THE PLUSLE AND MINUN TRY TO CHEER HIM UP??????

9.) Let him get separated from the group, or let the group get separated from him. Let him have panic, uncertainty, worry for his newfound friends. Humanize him a little bit for casual viewers who know him as 'that asshole with the roses'. You know how Pokemon loves shots of people reaching out to save someone? Give me that. Let him not reach their hand in time as Deoxys clones pull them away or as they get lost in a swarm of security bots. Give me a Drew that thinks he’s failed, that it’s his fault. It isn’t of course, I just like putting him through it. Then… give me a reunion scene. An “oh my god, you’re all safe, I thought I had lost you” scene. Did you guys know we don’t get a single contestshipping hug????? Ever???? No, her keeping him from drowning doesn’t count. I think that’s a crime and I think a “thank god you’re alive” hug, from either end, would be amazing. Ship mode activated. Imagine. May, spotting him from across the city plaza once the dust settles, and sprinting to him, nearly knocking him over with a hug that he hesitantly returns, before realizing he doesn’t want to let go. Alternately, the other way around: he lets his walls down long enough to hug her, to feel safe to break down for a minute in her arms because he was so fucking worried. May, short-circuiting slightly because wait, is this really the same rival that she accidentally threw a frisbee at and hated so long ago? Give me Sid reacting forlornly in the background too fhdhhf. I love Sid, he’ll be ok. (Also: Brock having a moment of “Oh. You’re still alive. Great.” Kidding, mostly.) also… Brock giving Sid a “yeah, I know how it feels” pat on the back???? Just a concept.

10.) More Roselia teasing him. She's the biggest contestshipper out there. I love this little green rose gal. We need more of her being snarky to her trainer. She had so much personality with so few appearances, I love her. GIVE HIS OTHER POKEMON PERSONALITIES TOO!!!! Give them time to shine! My own takes here, but I like to think Absol is over Drew's bullshit 24/7 and is the serious one of the group. Flygon? no thoughts head empty, like most reptiles. Ft. a picture of my own no thoughts head empty reptile, who made friends with a cricket in his cleaning bowl below under Roselia gif. The others, no idea but there's my takes.

ben and mal are being pressured to get married after they turn 18 because it would endear the other royals in auradon to the idea of the fact that the isle kids can be rehabilitated; mal being such a success in rehabilitation that the king marries her is a big deal. however shes not really being prepared sufficiently for the political side of things, just the appearance stuff. so when shes in the war room with beast belle & fg, they start really unsubtly pressuring her.

wouldnt it be safer if the barrier was shut forever? we're in danger right now. Mal. Mal, what do you think .?

and she chooses to close the barrier because if its a choice between her gang's safety vs. a bunch of random people on the isle, shes going to choose her gang no contest. ben throws a HUGE hissy fit and completely loses his mind. im talking yelling, maybe a little crying. this is his dream and hes the king but hes being strongarmed into this decision; beast belle & fg are using mal as their scapegoat, like look, shes from the isle and she agrees. and ben should say something like, shes from the isle, of course she agrees.

ben stays with mal instead of turning into a beast for some reason. when the core 4 meet up with the sea 3 hes the one playing peacemaker while evie giggles cutely in the back about shrimps and chaos. evie is the first to come around to his peacemaking however, shes totally on board to work with the sea 3 but everytime she sidles up to be on ben's peacemaking side she has to school her expression into a not-laugh. she claps her hands like a youth counselor and suggests icebreaker games just to see the looks on everyones faces at the sheer ridiculousness of it. shes fucking with everyone

instead of coralling the sea 3, the core 4 slide back into old isle ways. theyre meaner, louder, brasher. when the sea 3 start stealing stuff the only reason jay fights it is because he doesnt like harry and he wants him to suffer. instead of being surprised at gil's delight, jay is nostalgic and charmed, and shows him more things that he wouldnt know about. carlos threatens to bite someone. etc

hannah is the girl's dorms RA

instead of just saving audrey's life the plan is to save her from death and then throw her on the isle (a fun foil to FG and beast creating the isle! yay). but the big blowout fight she had with her gang and uma pushes mal to see past her own selfishness. so she very publically drops her political clout persona, stands up for the isle, and when beast and belle try to stop her, she stomps on their metaphorical toes and tells them to shut up.

FG doesnt give up her wand, but the core 4 know without having to be told to chase and corner her into giving it up. (i think carlos should do this). jay is the one who presents her with the wand. then they stand in a line and break the barrier

the final shots are a lingering, contemplative scene in which the core 4 agree that they'll protect people from the violence that will be razed down by the newly freed isle residents, and then, lAst one to the hideouts a rotten apple!!!!!!!!!!!!! running off into the sunset

Descendants 3 - Rewrite True defender x Rewrite Finale- P1

-Sup yall welcome to this dumb stupid fic :D this is basically just gonna be the exposition dump chap-good stuff comes later, read True Defender on Qoutev!!!!-

Things had gone terribly wrong in such a short time-only two days ago she had gotten engaged to her true love-her Ben, and then Hades attempted to escape, and then the crown and scepter had been stolen-and then! It was revealed Audrey Ben’s Ex, had been the one to take the scepter and crown-now calling herself the queen of mean; intent on becoming the next ‘Maleficent’ in her own right.

Lia had spotted Mal and her little gang, plus Celia, heading for the isle and Lia followed-finding out about the whole Audrey revenge plot and that Mal was after the gem thing that Hades had used the day before to try and escape.

Mal wasn’t happy Lia had followed them and almost demanded that Lia leave Auradon/Audrey’s fate up to her, but Lia didn’t back down easily and wanted to help-and at the pressure of her friends, Mal relented. Mal fetched the ember from Hades and soon they were leaving the isle, the vks all grumbly thanks to Uma’s boys and her other crew members stealing their bikes. But that would be their fault for leaving their precious motorbikes unguarded.

Soon they were stepping through the barrier and Mal gasped as the ember flashed, her motorbike gear changing colors and her hair streaked with blue. Mal admired the change, along with the surge of magic she felt with it. But as she and her friends were admiring the ‘Hades effect’-Lia and Jay both spotted Harry and Gil-Uma’s boys-leaping through the barrier just before it closed.

Harry and Gil started laughing-their eyes wide and they hugged each other. Then they spotted the vks, Evie pulling Celia to stand behind her as Jay and Carlos guarded Mal-Mal looking at them in utter shock. “Hey guys~” Harry cheered, putting on a fake Auradon grin. “jus’t comin’ for a wee visit~!” He giggled and nodded at Gil, the two starting to walk forward towards Auradon-towards Uma-but Carlos and Jay shoved them back.

Lia frowned, about to interject since she had heard such great stories about these boys from Uma and thought they should be welcomed into Auradon-Ben would’ve felt the same-but that thought was run off track as Harry shoved Carlos hard, causing him to stumble into Mal and she lost grip of the ember.

“No!” Mal screeched-dropping down to one knee to scoop up the precious magical gem-their ‘only’ hope to save Auradon-and Harry got to it first-swinging the curve of his hook to catch Mal’s hand and the ember and sending it flying.

“No!!” Mal screamed again and Lia was quick to act-her wings appeared in a flash of golden light and she was off like a shooting star-her hands outstretched towards the ember as it arched through the sky and fell towards the water. Before she could catch it however, a turquoise tentacle-a familiar tentacle-caught the ember, and Lia was startled out of flight-another tentacle shooting out from the water to catch her before she hit the water like a rock.

Uma appeared like the goddess she was, decked out in a tiara that had skulls and shells all over it and her altered cotillion dress-her cecaelia form absolutely stunning and powerful as always. Lia sighed in relief, relaxing in Uma’s hold. Uma laughed and set Lia back on the bridge, holding the sizzling and flickering Ember in her other tentacle. “Drop something?” Uma taunted Mal, showing off the ember she had in her possession.

“It can’t get wet!” Mal yelled down at the sea witch-for once looking panicked. “Give it back before it goes out!” Uma just laughed, not at all moved by Mal’s pathetic pleas. Harry and Gil looked out of breath; Harry almost looked like he could cry at the sight of his captain.

“Uma!” they both gasped-and Harry was so close to just jumping at her like this. Uma beamed at her boys, happy to see them after so long. “That’s my name~” Uma sang, curling the ember between her tentacle, and then she disappeared into the water-a golden glow appearing under the dark waters as she reversed her transformation.

Mal yelped again as Uma disappeared- desperately needing the Ember. Everyone slowly leaned back as a swirling tower of water slowly climbed up and up, Harry looking absolutely delighted, unable to keep the wild smile off his face-and then the tower exploded-soaking everyone who hadn’t had the chance to run for cover. Lia kept herself dry with her wings-quickly folding them back to look for Uma in the raging waves surrounding the isle.

“Hey boys~” Uma purred from behind and everyone whirled around to look at her-and once again Harry looked overjoyed. Uma held the glowing ember, wearing a tight-fitted shiny leather turquoise and aqua-colored pirate outfit, looking quite triumphant.

Harry cackled, pointing his hook at his beloved captain and walking over to her-greeting her like usual with her pinkie going around the curve of his hook. “Welcome back~” Harry purred, giving Uma a once over-always making sure she was okay-before he stood just behind her, one hand hovering the small of her back.

“Uma,” Gil stared, looking like a sad abandoned puppy. “you swam off and forgot all about us,” Uma shook her head lightly but Lia beat her to the punch. “She didn’t forget about you,” Lia said, a bright grin on her face as she stepped up to the three reunited pirates-it felt good to see them all together again. Mal looked absolutely peeved from the sidelines. “Not a day has gone by where she hasn’t talked about you two, or missed you, or told me stories about what you three have done together on the isle.” Lia said, watching as Harry scratched his cheek with the tip of his hook, looking down at Uma who was just looking at him and Gil with a grin like ‘like I would ever forget about you guys’

Gil’s pout turned to a smile, and he seemed to no longer doubt his captain and Harry gave him a look as if to say ‘told you so’. Mal scoffed, throwing up her hands-having enough of this soppy reunion. “Hello~? Can we get back to the issue at hand please! I need that Ember to break a spell,” Mal said, holding her hand out for the ember again and Carlos nodded-attempting to sway Uma to hand back the ember.

“cast by Audrey, sleeping beauties’ daughter,” Carlos said, only adding on her parentage for Harry and Gil-who might not know who Audrey was. Uma huffed a bit-raising her brow, now how did that happen?

“is that so?” Uma said with a smirk, looking down at the ember in her hand. “well, I might not give it back…see what happens~” Uma taunted Mal and Lia stepped forward, her hand reaching towards Uma. Uma locked eyes with her.

“Uma, please, Auradon is at stake, I know you and Mal have had your differences, but it is time to put them aside.” Lia said, knowing Uma cared about Auradon despite her hard shell. “if Auradon suffers, so does the isle, and they’re my people-my kingdom-“

Mal suddenly interrupted-clearly not happy with how Lia spoke about Auradon and its people. “it’s not yours, not yet.” Mal snapped, crossing her arms and Lia sighed-this was not the time for Mal’s…issues. Uma just smirked, coming up with a plan that would piss Mal off and make Lia happy.

“Fine then.” Uma sang, swinging her arms around and turning towards the isle, holding the ember up in the light-Mal’s eyes locked onto the powerful gem. “guarantee me that every single villain kid that wants to, can get off the isle, and I won’t keep the ember.” Uma said, striking Mal a deal.

Mal huffed, throwing up her hands and rolling her eyes-clearly not wanting to make a deal with the sea witch. “I can’t do that.” Mal said, staring Uma down, who just rolled her eyes and turned-Harry and Gil making way for her as she went and held the ember over the waters-making Mal and co. panic.

“Can’t do that-Well how about now!?” Uma cackled, clearly enjoying the look of panic on Mal’s face as she snapped her hand out to reach for the ember-her eyes wide. “Deal!...” Mal swallowed and paused-not wanting to be seen so desperate by Uma. “Deal.” She said again, her voice quieter.

Uma just grinned, faking a stumble and Mal-on a stupid instinct-jumped forward-making Harry and Gil react to protect Uma as Evie gasped-pushing Celia behind her as Lia stepped forward to make sure this didn’t turn into a cat fight while Uma and Mal wrestled for the ember-Jay and Carlos going up to help Mal. “I don’t think I’ve seen you this desperate since your mommy kicked you out for a week!” Uma taunted and Mal shoved her back-the ember going flying once again as Uma lost her grip.

Mal’s eyes widened and she and Lia scrambled for it as it bounced down the bridge-Mal dived for it-Lia did too-and just as it was about to roll off the edge-

A black-leather boot stepped on it-stopping it from dropping into the water. Mal hit the stone with a grunt, her hand inches away from the ember. Mal assumed Evie had saved the day-but her boots were blue and red and had a bigger heel-Mal slowly looked up-her and Lia’s eyes went wide as their friends froze behind them.

Because some new people had suddenly-somehow-joined them on the bridge. Those black leather boots were connected to a pair of dark pants, which were connected to a red cropped jacket with shimmering metal arm guards, dark blue eyes, and blonde hair pulled into a pony tail. The girl was smirking down at them, her ruby necklace shimmering in the light.

“Drop something?” she said, someone snorting from behind/next to her. Mal blinked in shock and then she met her own face-green/yellow eyes peeking over the blonde girl's shoulder.

“Oh wow,” The other Mal said, her brows raising. Mal got to her feet, the blonde girl and Lia staring at each other while the two Mal’s stared at each other. The other Mal wore shades of blue with a ripped up blue vest that had flames licking up the sides with long blue leather fingerless gloves and a choker around her neck.

Then Mal noticed a 2nd Evie-wearing a full blue jacket/open skirt, a 2nd Jay-wearing something far more similar to his old isle gear than his current motor suit, a 2nd Carlos-with a biker punk leather jacket that had full red sleeves like his old isle jacket, a 2nd Celia-wearing split color pants and a pinstripe cropped jacket, and a 2nd Uma-with locs and far more casual clothes with a good chunk of belts and a big leather glove/gauntlet around her right arm.

“Well…this is interesting,” Lia said and the blonde girl nodded in agreement, bending down to scoop up the ember from beneath her boot. This is when Mal noticed Hadie-Hades son-standing right next to the other Mal, with yellow eyes and full punk gear.

“Excuse my French,” Celia said, the other Celia tilting her head at herself. “but what the fuck?”

The blonde girl, other Uma, and Other Mal all snorted-holding back a laugh as Evie gasped in shock-her eyes widening. “Celia!” Evie scolded while the other vks all started to laugh quietly. Celia just shrugged-making a grand gesture at the situation before them-if there was any time to curse, it was now.

Other Celia seemed to agree as she nodded and spoke up. “What I said; what the fuck?” other Celia asked and the Celia’s smirked at each other, already feeling a connection. “I third that,” Mal said, crossing her arms and staring at this 2nd set of vk’s and…random person with suspicion.

The blonde girl holding the ember shrugged and she looked behind her at Hadie-who would be the most informed about the powers of the ember. He just shrugged. “Don’t look at me, I got no clue.” he said, holding his hands up in defense.

Uma just sighed, already feeling a headache come on because now there were TWO Mal’s. Even if one had far better fashion taste. “Okay, let’s all just agree that this shit is weird and go, Audrey won't wait for us to figure this out.” Uma said, having got what she wanted. Mal rolled her eyes but agreed-she had a kingdom to save-and held out her hand for the ember, seemingly expecting the blonde girl to hand it over willy nilly.

The girl just smirked, walked over to Uma-and put it in her hand. Uma grinned, putting the ember in her vest pocket. “Oh you and I are going to get along great.” Uma said and other Uma nodded, tossing her arm around the girls neck. “Oh, we already do,” Other Uma said, tipping her chin up with pride as the blonde girl chuckled.

Mal let out a muffled frustrated scream into her hands. (Lia held back a snort at the noise)

“Wait-Audrey also took the scepter in this world?” Other Mal asked, finally catching up on what Uma just said- looking very concerned, and not just for Auradon. Mal and the others nodded. “Is she also possessed by mom?” other Mal asked Mal-which made everyone but the 2nd set of vks do a double take.

“She-what?!” Mal gasped, blinking in surprise, other Mal just made a vague hand gesture. “Well, that’s why our Audrey is going haywire- mom used her negative emotions and possessed her, and we have till sunrise before the possession spell takes over.” Other Mal said and that seemed to get everyone into gear, both Uma’s squaring their shoulders.

“Then let's get going, we got no time to lose.” Other Uma said and Lia nodded in agreement, gazing at the blonde girl for a long moment as she walked past her. “Ah!” Mal said-stopping production as everyone went to follow other Uma’s order. Even other Mal looked confused-wondering why they were waiting-they didn’t have time to argue! “No. I’m in charge.” Mal said and both Uma’s gave each other a long look while the blonde girl face palmed. Mal looked around, searching for any resistance, and when she found ‘none’, she nodded. “Let’s go.”

The blonde girl sighed and shook her head, Other Mal leaning over to her to ask something quietly. The blonde girl snorted and nodded and other Mal made a face before she regrouped with her friends and everyone was soon walking down the bridge, making small talk and connections as they walked.

They all learned there were small and major changes to each of their universes, for the ‘main’ universe as they were calling it for now; it had only been a month since cotillion-while in the other universe-it had been two and a half years since cotillion.(There was too much to explain why it had been so long so the blonde girl-Rose-just told them ‘council’ and that was enough explanation for everyone.)

 They both had VK day, though the other universe picked six kids twice a month(and weren’t quite as biased(even though no one said that out loud), and they both had the one ‘odd one out’ girl, that being Lia and Rose.

Rose and Lia were actually getting along pretty great, both being strangers to the land-Lia an alien while Rose was a universe hopper-being from another another alternate universe that somehow ended up in the ‘descendants’ universe as she called it. They found much in common with each other and were becoming fast friends and by the time everyone finally got back to Auradon, they were pretty familiar with each other and decided they were besties.

“All right, where to first?” Lia said as they all stepped off the bridge, other Mal stepped forward, nodding down the path towards Auradon prep. “Let’s check Auradon prep real quick, make sure no one’s hurt,” For some odd reason, that made Lia’s brows shoot up, seeing the genuinely concerned look on other Mal’s face, her expression set into a determined frown.

Mal nodded in agreement, quickly taking the lead and everyone followed suit-split between their two groups. It was quite odd, to go from nine to nineteen, but more people meant more firepower and more protection-which meant a better chance at protecting Auradon and saving Audrey from the scepter. Uma filled her group in on what had happened back in Auradon; Audrey had cast a kingdom-wide sleeping spell and everyone was out for the count, including those at the castle.

Both Mal’s frowned in worry, though there was a difference to them that only a few people could point out.

They were quick to arrive at Auradon prep-everyone that had a phone quickly calling up their loved ones as soon as they had service. “They’re asleep,” Evie suddenly said as they stepped onto the grounds, looking at the horde of sleeping people. “…everyone.”

“You thought I was kidding about that?” Uma asked, only slightly offended, she had grown to be a little fond of Auradon and its school, since it meant good food and a roof over her head. Rose quickly walked further into the garden/park area of the courtyard in front of the dorm building, her phone pressed to her ear.

“I can’t get Ben,” Lia said and other Mal huffed, shoving her phone in her black thigh bag. “I can’t even get my phone to ring,” Other Mal muttered and her friends all nodded.

“Yeah, our phones are fully disconnected.” Other Carlos said, typing away on some sort of coding app on his phone, only to turn it off and put it in his hip bag. “I can’t get Doug or Dizzy,” Evie said as other Evie went about making sure all the sleeping people were okay.

“Or Jane, signals out,” Carlos said, watching as the signal just went dead-they were stranded. “Rose?” Other Uma asked, walking up to her and Rose held her finger up, now trying another number, after a few rings the line went dead.

“I can't reach the boys, either they’re still in our world or something happened to them,” Rose muttered, turning her phone off and putting it in her jacket pocket. Other Uma frowned and crossed her arms.

Rose let out a sharp whistle as Jay and Harry started to argue-which caught both their attention-just before Uma and Mal were about to make them stop. “Knock it.” Rose said sternly and for some reason-both boys straightened up, something telling them that Rose was not one to make repeat.

Other Uma chuckled a bit and Rose smirked at her before a gasp caught their attention, seeing the Evie’s staring at a stone statue. “oh shit,” Other Celia said as everyone walked up to the teen-girl-turned statue. Evie didn’t even try to scold her for the swear word. “that’s not good,”

“Not at all,” Rose said, stepping closer and brushing her fingers against the granite. “we need to move, staying in one spot for long will only make us targets.” Both Uma’s, Mal’s, and Lia all nodded-all in agreement for once.

“We should find Ben, or at least-a lead on Audrey-and finding Ben will help that.” Lia said, taking command much to Mal’s chagrin but everyone else-including Other Mal-didn’t object. Celia spoke up; “But if he’s not responding, and we can’t contact him, how are we gonna find him?” She asked and Lia looked up to the skies, her eyes narrowed in determination.

“The castle, that’s where he was heading when I last saw him.” Rose nodded in agreement and so did Other Mal-Mal wasn’t as agreeable however.

“That’s the first place Audrey would look for him, we have to go find him.” Mal said and Lia nodded again-and other Mal backed Lia up-much to the main groups surprise. “Exactly, even if we don’t find him right away, it’ll be our best bet to find a clue on Audrey and Ben’s whereabouts, maybe we can find both Ben’s too.” Other Mal said, tapping her nails on her thigh bag, her expression deep in thought.

“I’m going to see if the boys got sent with us, Uma?” Rose said, turning to Other Uma and she nodded. “I’ll go with you; we’ll meet you all at the castle.” Other Uma said and then with a nod from Other Mal-the two were off and everyone else set off for the long on foot journey towards the castle-and luckily at one point they came across some sleeping royal guards with some downed cycles.

“Well, that’s convenient,” other Celia said as they climbed onto the limited sets of bikes and started off towards the castle again-they had to be doubled up but they were moving faster now-with Lia soaring above them on her wings.

They were going up the main path towards the castle when the roar of two engines caught other Mal and Lia’s attention-seeing Rose and other Uma joining up with them on the road-sitting on two scarlet bikes. “Find anything other than the bikes?” Rose yelled over the wind and Other Mal nodded over to Carlos, who had Dude zipped up in his jackets for the ride.

“Just dude!” Other Mal yelled back and the vks, Lia, and Rose all arrived at the castle, parking their bikes at the steps and rushing into the castle-well, Mal and the others did, Lia, Rose, Celia’s, and the pirates all stayed back, far more aware that there could be a trap.

Mal started calling out for Ben, looking through every room they passed. Other Mal did the same, but she was making a beeline for his office/room-and when she finally got to the double doors-her eyes widened in horror at the gigantic claw marks that had torn into the doors.

“Oh Ben,” She whispered, looking at his turned-over desk and the claw marks on his floor. “Audrey must’ve already found him,” Other Mal said, turning to the group-letting the others peek into the room and Mal paled as Lia cupped her hand over her mouth.

“Grab something of his, Dude can track him.” Carlos said and Mal nodded, going into the room and grabbing one of Ben’s pens that was on the floor and handing it to Carlos who had Dude smell it; the mutt was off-leading the large group quickly following him through the clawed-up halls-which deeply worried Lia-wondering what had happened to her fiancé.

“I hope he’s okay,” other Mal muttered, her hands fidgeting at her sides. Lia nodded in agreement, she knew Ben could handle himself, but that didn’t stop her from worrying about him.

“Why do ye have me hook?” Harry suddenly asked, pointing at the hook that was hanging from the back of Rose’s belt. Rose turned with a hum, looking down at the hook. “oh, did we forget to mention?” Rose said, looking at Other Uma and she thought for a moment before she nodded. “yeah okay, well, long story short, you and Gil were invited to Auradon with the four originally and when Uma and I went to check your house-you weren’t there and I only found your hook.” Rose explained quickly, and just then Dude let everyone to a big set of double doors-the armor hall.

“This is where he is?” Mal asked Dude and he nodded. “Yep, this is where it trails, he went right through here.” Other Mal stepped up and pushed open the doors with ease that was almost scary-the heavy wooden doors slamming against the walls which made everyone jump.

“What have you been eating?” Hadie joked-which made Mal jump since she had forgotten he was even here. Other Mal just glared at him, and Mal called out for Ben, her voice high-pitched with worry. “Ben! Ben!?”

Everyone flooded into the room, admiring the polished armor and shining swords and other weapons that lined the room, Lia admired the stained glass that showed off the battle between Prince Phillip and Maleficent and Rose shook her shoulders a bit.

“Anyone else feel like they’re being watched?” She asked and almost everyone nodded. “Like a hundred eyes are on me,” Lia said as she looked around, her hands on her dagger and sword. Everyone stayed huddled together-both Celia’s in the middle of the group, being guarded by the older teens.

They were just about to reach the other end of the hall and go through the doors that had a good chunk of wood splintered off-when they were stopped-everyone leaped back in fright as the suits of armor lining the walls and door’s came to life-the two in front of them blocking their way out.

“Mal~ Lia~ fancy to see you both here~” Audrey’s voice echoed through the suits and Mal glared at the glowing pink visors of the suits of armor that allowed Audrey to speak directly to her. “You both like princes, right?”

Another Audrey spoke-this one sounding…wrong, like someone else was speaking for her. “Well, how about a knight in shining armor? Or knights.” The visors flashed vivid poison green and the rest of the suits came to life, all drawing their weapons and beginning their march of attack towards the teens. “Shit!” Other Mal cursed-looking back at the entrance to the hall-it was already blocked by more knights. “Watch your back!” All around them were knights-coming from every archway and corner. They were trapped-there was only one way out.

“We have to fight!” Lia said, leaping onto the platform in the middle of the room-drawing her saber and dagger. “Al-aksi selba, nongwe!” Mal curled her lip a bit and rolled her eyes-clearly preferring to be in command but when Rose pulled her back from being crushed by an axe-she knew Lia was right. “She’s right, grab whatever you can, prepare to fight, and do not die.” Rose said and everyone sprang into action, Rose drew a sword from the nearby sword holder and held Harry’s hook in her free hand, flipping the blade in her hand and rolling her shoulders.

“let's get this party started.” Rose said with a dangerous smirk and her group all grinned, knowing they had this in the bag. Other Mal’s eyes flickered yellow and Hadie’s hands lit up with blue flames-his hair doing the same.

They were in for a hell of a fight.

Which main descendants AK and vk have the most wasted potential in your opinion?

I personally think all of them as I stated before In my wasted potential series but wanted your opinion?

“All of them” is accurate! The Descendants films are a graveyard of wasted potential

The Sea Three could’ve played a much bigger role in the plot; it would’ve been amazing to have subplots developing their plans to get off the Isle across all of the films

Even as far as the Core Four go a lot of potential character development was wasted, & Jay especially was ignored, particularly in D3. I really liked how in the books Mal & Jay were closer friends with each other and Evie & Carlos were as well; it would’ve been cool to see that instead of defaulting to grouping them more by gender.

As far as AKs go, it’s hard to pick just one! It would’ve been neat for Disney to more deeply explore that the AKs didn’t have perfect childhoods & also had the potential to do bad things, like they sort of brought up with Audrey at the end of D3 but it would’ve been cool to see AKs also breaking rules etc to drive home the point that in a lot of ways they weren’t so different from the VKs.

If I had to say one: Ben literally became king at the end of D1, which is a stupid amount of pressure to put on a high school student for no reason, but then he just…does nothing. Why give him that kind of political power & then ignore it. It could’ve easily been a different ceremony that necessitated getting the wand out in D1. He was already busy enough with school/being prepared to become king/extracurriculars to be too distracted to notice Mal doing magic for D2’s plot, and then in D3 everyone asks Mal what to do instead of Ben who is literally king. I know everyone’s already complained about that, but sheesh. Why did they make him king at the age of 16, and if they had to do that why didn’t they make it matter to the plot? That’s wasted potential

Basically I think it would’ve been really cool if the Descendants film canon had been more cohesively planned ahead and had a big overarching plot connecting the 3 films, or at least subplots that developed across the films. It would’ve been cool to see a build up to everyone agreeing to take the barrier down for a variety of reasons & figuring out a good way to do it instead of having it just be Mal’s whim at the end of D3 and everyone suddenly excited to see their abusive parents, who for all we know still want to destroy Auradon for revenge. It sort of feels like not only were all 3 written as mostly separate stories, but the writers forgot a lot of what they’d done in the previous film(s) each time. The whole VK Day thing is a horrifyingly bad idea as it is, but it also forgets that Dizzy was already invited & Evie said she would make a list of other VKs at the end of D2. As much as I do enjoy it, the whole franchise is a monument to wasted potential
