Name: Iona Sifdottir (Sif won the rock-paper-scissors when it came to the last name)

Gender: Female

General Appearance: Curly brown hair, hazel eyes, brown skin, 5’8 or so- she has some scars from training/battle

Personality: Iona is stubborn and tough, never backing down. She has a special love for music and the arts, and has a fun joking side. She can often be impulsive, but once she commits to something she tries to go all the way.

Special Talents: She enjoys singing, and was taught sword fighting and pegasus riding by her mothers, she’s still learning battle strategies

Who they like better: Iona really doesn’t have a favorite, she loves both her parents

Who they take after more: She has Sif’s spirit, although looking more like Valkyrie besides her height and eye color. Her fighting style seems to be closer to Sif’s

Personal Head canon: Iona was introduced to different Midgardian bands by Astrid, and still has some tapes and posters she was given

Day Six: Girls Like Girls

(Sifkyrie; Moving to New Asgard meant there were going to be a lot of firsts for Sif. She never thought falling for another woman would be one of them)

Life in New Asgard had been a big adjustment for Sif. Earth was just so different from how Asgard had been and she missed her old home dearly. Some things on Earth were good though. She liked pizza and coffee and big, comfortable sweaters and television shows. It had fascinated her, at first, how many wonderful inventions the mortals had come up with. But the one thing here on Earth that she liked the most was, oddly enough, not even truly from Earth. It also wasn’t actually a thing, but rather a person. 

When Sif had first gotten here, it was Brunnhilde who had helped her adjust. She had been absolutely ecstatic to meet the Valkyrie. After all, the Valkyries had always been Sif’s heroes. She had always thought, rather wistfully, that she would be the one to start a new group of Valkyrie. She did not bring that up to Brunnhilde, however. 

The two of them had become fast friends. They trained together, drank together, laughed together; Brunnhilde was the female friend that Sif had always wished she had. Lately though, something had changed between them. At least, it did for Sif. She wanted to be more than just friends.  

She hadn’t always known that she liked other women romantically and she had never been in a real relationship with one. Brunnhilde, on the other hand, was more experienced in that department. If Sif was being honest with herself, it intimidated her a bit. 

She didn’t really know how to talk about her newfound feelings with anyone. While Thor had always been her dearest friend, she wasn’t quite sure how to bring it up with him. Sif never thought she’d say this, but she missed Loki. He was like her, he would understand. It made her wonder if the two of them would have gotten along better if she had known sooner. 

So it seemed like the only person that she could speak to about her feelings for another woman was that woman. It was hilariously ironic. 

Brunnhilde had invited her over for coffee, another thing that Sif enjoyed about Earth. She held her cup with both hands, one of them being flesh, the other metal. 

“Can I talk to you about something? Something personal?” she asked. Her voice was shaking a bit. 

Brunnhilde shrugged. “Sure, I guess. What is it?” 

“I think…No, I know that I like women…in a romantic sense. And I know that you like women too and I just…I wanted…” she trailed off. 

Brunnhilde smiled and clapped her on the shoulder. “Congrats! That’s awesome! Good for you!” There was a mischievous glint in her eyes. “So is there anyone in particular that you like? Tell me everything, I wanna know.” 

Sif swallowed. She opened her mouth, then closed it again. Should she be honest? Or should she lie and say she liked someone else? Or no one in particular? 

“Well,” she started. She took a deep breath. She should make the brave decision, shouldn’t she? She was a warrior after all, not a coward. “I do like someone. You know her, actually. Really well. Because, well, it is you.” 

She saw Brunnhilde’s mouth fall open, just a little bit. Then she smirked. “And I told myself it was all in my head!” she laughed. “You know, I thought I’d never have feelings like that for anyone again and then you came around and you just…” She made a vague motion with her hands. “But then I thought you were only into men, so I assumed I imagined it. I’ve never been so happy to be wrong in my entire life.”

There was a bright smile on Sif’s face. She couldn’t remember the last time she was this happy. “Can I kiss you?” she asked. 

“Always,” Valkyrie answered, as she leaned in for the kiss.

It’s the first asgardian big event after the defeat of Gorr. Jane is alive and going with Thor obv, Darcy’s bringing her own cool space girlfriend, Korg has Dwayne, etc. and Val feels fine going alone…

Until she notices Sif acting all nervous one day. So she asks what’s up, and Sif sighs before telling her that she wants to ask someone to this event and be their date but she fears her lack-of-arm is a deterrent. Val instinctively blurts out “Well you still look bloody amazing and attractive, and your personality is amazing. They’d be a fool to say no!”

…Sif asks her about five minutes after an awkward stare ensues.

Since some people apparently do wanna hear me talk about Sif, here are some headcanons I have for her.

Her father died when she was young. He was in the Asgardian army and died in battle.

Because of this, Sif's mother never approved of her wanting to be a warrior and tried to push to like more "feminine" things.

During her childhood she considered both Thor and Loki to be her friends.

She only stopped liking Loki after he cut her hair.

She met the Warriors Three when she started her training. While some of the other men doubted her abilities, they always supported her.

Odin and Frigga treat her like their own daughter sometimes because they know her father died and her and her mother don't have a good relationship.

She wishes she had more female friends.

fuck my whole everything is on fire rn thinking about sif. she needs to meet valkyrie. think about how much that would mean to her! the valkyrie were dead and gone before she became one of the strongest warriors in asgard despite her gender, among only men, the majority of whom - according to thor - didn't accept her as one of them.

lady sif would make a GREAT advisor or wife/queen consort to queen valkyrie. she knows the people of asgard as they currently are bc she hasn't been gone for a few hundred years, she's tough and fair and cares deeply for her people....
