You’re Too Good For Me ~Larissa Weems xBrienne of Tarth
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary— Inspired by this post made by @franouo !! “WHAT IF (in an AU) Larissa survived Marylin's atack (SHE'S ALIVE) and needs protección AND somehow Brienne shows up, maybe a portal or time travel (idk how yet) and they start this kind of dry relationship in the begging for mutual interests, like Larissa needs protección (maybe debelop panic atacks after all the trauma) and Brienne needs help to come back to Westeros and the only person who can help is Larissa because all the principal of a "Magic school" thing like Brienne says but with in the time pass they break each others walls and start falling for each other.”

By the grace of god or whatever supreme fucking being, Larissa has survived Marilyn’s nightshade poisoning. Everyone said that it had been a miracle. No one had been known to survive nightshade poisoning in the past…
Larissa, of course, was relieved to have survived. She was grateful, mostly. But part of her struggled with the fact that she had indeed died for an extended amount of time. And that she had then come back to life…
It was hard for the blonde to comprehend. The whole experience had thoroughly traumatized the principal… She couldn’t go a day without our heightened anxiety, couldn’t go a week without at least one panic attack.
As the school year came to a close, the events of that fatal night fading into the past, and all the students got sent home, Larissa was left pretty much on her own at the school, as most of the staff had gone too. There were certain responsibilities that the principal had to uphold over the summer at Nevermore, such as keeping the school in good shape for the upcoming school year.
Even though it had been weeks, Larissa felt her anxiety, and panic, and vigilance like her near death experience had occurred yesterday…
~
One particularly hot summer day, Larissa was making her daily rounds of the school, when she saw a shimmer of blue gleaming in the morning sun down the road from the school.
The blue figure came closer and closer, and Larissa made out the person to be some kind of knight…? The knight came through the gates and walked up to Larissa. At a closer glance, the blonde principal realized that the tall knight was in fact a lady.
“Excuse me? Can I help you…?” Larissa asked.
The woman looked breathless and confused.
“Sorry to bother you, madam… but are you Lady Weems?” Brienne asked.
Larissa was taken aback slightly by the formal title. But she kept her cool demeanor.
“I am. And you are?”
“My name is Brienne of Tarth. I have traveled far to your land to request your aid.” The blonde knight explained.
Larissa looked at the woman puzzled.
“Oh…? And what for?” She asked.
“It seems I accidentally was portaled to your land, M’Lady, and I need assistance to get back. I was told by a fellow traveler that you and your school for magic would hold answers.” Brienne breathed out.
Larissa pursed her lips and nodded slowly.
“Why don’t you come in, Brienne…?” She offered, indicating with her hand to the school.
Brienne’s eyes lit up and she nodded.
“Yes M’Lady…!”
“Larissa will do just fine, Darling.” Larissa insisted, putting her hand up and shooing Briennes formal title aside.
Brienne blushed lightly and nodded. Larissa then led the other tall blonde up to the school, through the corridors, and into her office. Larissa shut the door behind her, and indicated for Brienne to take a seat.
Brienne then spent a better part of an hour explaining how she had somehow traveled through space and time. She had been pulled through a blueish-purple glowing portal, against her will, and turned up in Vermont. After Brienne had finally finished her tarry tale, she asked the begging question,
“So, Larissa… Will you help me return to Westeros?”
Larissa smiled and nodded.
“I cannot promise anything, but I will certainly try my hardest, Darling.” She breathed out.
Brienne’s eyes sparkled with gratitude and hope.
“Thank you M’l—Larissa. How can I ever repay you…??” The knight asked.
“It’s no trouble, Darling, really I insist.”
“No please, let me return the favor…” Brienne insisted.
Larissa signed and contemplated.
“Very well. Now that you mention it…” she breathed out, “I could use your protection…”
Brienne nodded immediately.
“I understand, and you shall have it, Larissa…!” She exclaimed.
This made Lariss smile. She appreciated that Brienne hadn’t pried into why she wanted protection. And she felt grateful at the woman’s eagerness to help.
And that was how Larissa and Brienne’s mutual beneficial relationship started. Brienne was quick to move into the castle, taking one of the available staff private quarters.
The relationship at the beginning was dry and base on pure mutual interest. Larissa did her daily duties to care for Nevermore, and on the side, she back researching possible solutions for Brienne’s return.
Brienne insisted that she help the tall, blonde principal with some of the school duties. Larissa at first wouldn’t hear of it, but then the school caretaker quit on her, and she was forced to face the idea of cleaning all of Nevermore on her own until she could hire a new caretaker. So Larissa let Brienne help her by keeping the grounds clean and tidy, especially the outside.
On the days where Larissa was really riddled with anxiety and panic, Brienne was more than happy to take up more responsibility. Larissa began to trust the woman as she proved herself to be quite capable.
And slowly, the relationship between Larissa and Brienne began to shift…
Brienne and Larissa got into the habit of spending their evenings together. They would sip wine and talk the night away. It got easier and easier as the time slipped by.
~~
“So you are a knight from where you are from?” Larissa asked the other woman, putting her feat up and relaxing in her chair after a long day.
“Mhmmm, yes Westeros…” Brienne sighed.
“That must be difficult…” Larissa sympathized.
“Dear God you have no idea…” Brienne chuckled, using humor to hide her pain and suffering.
“Tell me about it…? If you wish…” the blonde principal cooed softly.
Brienne eventually opened up to the struggle she faced as a female knight back home. She poured her heart out in vulnerability, talking about the pain and suffering she’d endured to get where she was today.
~~
In turn and when Larissa was ready, she began opening up about her death.
“What about you…? I imagine something must have happened…” Brienne prodded, trying not to be too pushy as she knew this was a touchy subject for the other woman.
“I…” Larissa stammered, pausing and taking a deep breath, “I died.”
Brienne had assumed something traumatic must have had happened to the blonde woman, as many nights, Brienne found herself rushing to Larissa’s quarters to comfort the woman from her night terrors and panic attacks.
~~
Soon, the two women began to develop a true bond. And now, Larissa dreaded the say when they figured out how to bring Brienne home. And Brienne dreaded the day Larissa wouldn’t want her around anymore, enough to figure it out.
On just another evening, the women were sitting in Larissa’s office. This evening, Brienne wasn’t drinking, she was too wound up.
“Everything alright, Darling…?” Larissa asked, taking a sip of her wine.
Brienne sighed.
It was bugging her. Her impending leave.
The summer was almost up, the school year would start again, and Larissa would have no time for her anymore…
“I… Simply wound too tight today it seems…” Brienne breathed out.
Larissa pursed her lips and nodded slowly.
“Anything in particular making you anxious…?” She asked.
Brienne bit her lip and looked away. Larissa sat up and placed a hand on Brienne’s thigh.
And Brienne gasped. Loud.
“Talk to me, love. Please…” Larissa pled.
Brienne gulped. Her heart began to race, and her cheeks went rosy red.
“I… don’t want to leave” she whispered in confession.
The knight looked down in sadness, not being able to meet the other woman’s gaze. She expected Larissa to condemn her or get angry.
But instead, Larissa’s one hand caresses Brienne’s thigh in calming circles, and her other hand came under to cup Brienne’s chin. Larissa moved the woman’s head to meet her gaze.
As Brienne met Larissa’s eyes, she saw sparkling orbs. They weren’t filled with anger, no… care…? understanding…? something else…??
Brienne’s breath was bated and shallow.
“Hey, it’s okay, Darling. Take a deep breath” Larissa breathed out in comfort.
And that Brienne did. She took several, before meeting Larissa’s gaze one more.
Now the blonde principal’s eye flickered away from Brienne’s gaze, down to the blue knights lips and back up. It was just for a fraction of a second, but it was clear.
“I… I don’t want you to leave either.” Larissa breathed out softly.
Their eyes were locked together, stuck in this trance, Larissa’s hands still on Brienne’s chin and thigh. Brienne bit her lip anxiously, her stomache having erupts with butterfly’s.
They were entranced by each other’s gaze, presence, being… Each blond wanted the other’s lips on their own. Now it was Brienne’s turn for her gaze to flicker down to the other woman’s lips.
Larissa took this as her cue to lean forward more, bringing the two impossibly close. Brienne instinctually leaned further forward, leaving mere centimeters in space between their lips. But it was Larissa who closed the gap, her soft, plump lips pressing into Brienne’s lips.
Brienne immediately let out a light gasp. At first Larissa thought that it wasn’t a good sign, until Brienne suddenly grasped Larissa’s upper body with both hands and tugged her closer and tight. Larissa let out a breathy groan, her lips not pressed and bruised against Brienne’s.
Larissa began exploring, letting her tongue run along the other’s lips. Brienne immediately hummed in delight, leading to the blonde principal to start nipping and putting more playfulness into the kiss.
The more hums and gasps and sighs Larissa pulled from the blonde’s lips, the more encouraged she felt to heat up the kiss, until the two of them finally had to pull away for oxygen after a solid couple of minutes of breathless kissing.
Brienne blushed and looked away, as Larissa met the her gaze.
“Was that alright…?” Larissa asked.
Brienne blushed even harder and bit her lip, nodding slowly. Her gaze returned to the other woman’s.
“Perfect” Brienne whispered.
Now it was Larissa’s turn to blush and look away. Before Larissa could look back at Brienne, the knight pressed her lips against the blonde principal’s.
The kiss reignited, this time more heated and just as passionate. It started to become sloppy, tongues intertwining and breath mingling. Moans and groans escaping both women’s mouths.
Larissa’s hand on the other woman’s right began to push up on her thigh, riding Brienne’s night gown further and further up. Her other hand found purchase behind Brienne’s neck.
Brienne’s hands then sprung for Larissa’s hips, pulling the woman practically in her lap. Larissa groaned and bucked her hips into the knights lap. Brienne’s eyes threatened to roll back.
“M-more more more…” Brienne chanted in a whimpering plea.
Larissa couldn’t deny the beautiful knight. She slid down off of the couch, and she guided Brienne to lay back on the couch. Brienne’s panting was erotic and loud, spurring Larissa on even more.
Kneeling in between Brienne’s legs and at the edge of the couch, Larissa looked up at the desperate woman.
It only now struck each woman what they were about to do.
But the exchanged glances solidified the fact that neither of them would regret it, and that they both wanted it just as bad as the other.
“Spread your legs for me, Darling…” Larissa breathed out in her sultry tone.
God Brienne felt sparks and waves of pleasure from this woman’s voice alone… She’d never felt this good before.
Brienne laid back all the way on the couch and immediately spread her legs for the blonde principal. Larissa sat herself right in front of Brienne’s core, rolling up her night gown and staring at the knights gleaming sex.
“W-what…?” Brienne stuttered, already starting to bliss out and confused as to why Larissa was merely staring.
“So pretty…” Larissa breathed out, entranced by Brienne and her dripping cunt.
Before Brienne could respond, Larissa had dove into her pussy. She wasted no time in slurping away at Brienne’s juices. Brienne’s hand jolted to Larissa’s hair, tightly grabbing her head by her pinned locks and shoving her further into her own cunt in desperation. Her other hand flew to the couch, scrunching the material in a tight fist.
“Ah ah AhhhHhH Larissa—” Brienne moaned out, her head thrown back and her eyes screwed shut.
Larissa licked through the woman’s folds, sucked and tapped her clit, bit and nipped at her inner thighs. All of this only made Brienne closer and louder. Her hold on Larissa’s hair tightened impossibly tight.
“Ah AhHhhHhhHh—!!!” Brienne cried out, her back arching and her hips jerking towards Larissa.
And when Larissa’s fingers began to circle Brienne’s entrance, and then actually entered the woman… Brienne lost it.
“God Lariss—AHHH…!!” Brienne screamed, “Faster FASTER—!!!” She begged.
The woman tore both her hands up towards her head. Larissa watched Brienne mesmerized the entire time. She added another finger and fucked her faster, fastening her lips to the woman clit. With a couple harsh sucks, Brienne snapped.
Brienne shed jolted back as she screamed through her orgasm. Her back arched even further, her body pulsed. She saw stars and her walls clenched hard around Larissa’s fingers.
“AH AH AH ahhh AhhhHhHH—!!” Brienne moaned and cried out.
Larissa watched jaw dropped as she fingered the woman through her orgasm.
She’d never seen anything so beautiful…
Once her cunt had stopped pulsating and clenching, Larissa slowly removed her digits. She just looked up at Brienne speechless.
Eventually, Brienne lowered her hands to reveal her hard blush.
“S-sorry… mm was too loud…” Brienne murmured.
Larissa shook her head with an open mouth. She promptly shut her mouth upon realizing how long she’d kept it open.
“No no, I… Was…. Was I that good..??” She breathlessly reassured her.
Brienne blushed furiously.
“I… I’d never… never you know…” Brienne whispered.
Larissa’s eyes widened and her jaw dropped again.
“Oh Lord, I didn’t even ask. I am so sorry, Darling—” the blonde principal began rambling.
But she was cut off by Brienne lunging forward, taking Larissa face in her hands, and smashing her lips against hers. She pulled away after a moment, and the other woman had her answer.
Brienne was beaming and Larissa couldn’t help the little smirk on her face.
“Perhaps a bath…” Larissa suggested softly.
“Don’t you…?” Brienne asked, concerned that Larissa hadn’t been helped.
But Larissa shook her head.
“Later. You need to be taken care of first, Darling.” She insisted.
Brienne blushed furiously yet again, before happily being led by Larissa to her private bathroom to take a bath together.

very passionately dislike this permeating opinion on other platforms that Brienne is flawless and therefore uninteresting. sure, she can be not your type of character, but reducing moral characters to “flawless” is so stupid. obvious grey morality is not the only way a character can be complex, and i feel like this fact often gets lost in discussions about a series like this one where so many of the characters are written to be very morally muddy. but brienne in no way falls into what is expected of a “perfect heroine”. she certainly doesn’t look like it physically. she is filled to the brim with insecurities. she can have a very absolutist view on morality at times. she can be naive, close minded, and judgmental. the romantic she is, she can fall for false appearances that cover up a complicated and harsh reality. even she buys into the ableist “imp” narrative. just because, at the end of the day, her heart is indisputably in the right place, and she is one of the truest heroes in the series, does not mean there are no layers to her. she is plenty flawed, bc she is plenty human. she also goes through development during the ASoS road trip. she is not just jaime’s catalyst for change. she grows because of him, and the perspective he provides, too. because there was room for her to grow. and there still is.

i’m obsessed with the thought of vil falling for someone who’s ugly. especially if it’s a forced proximity trope. triple points if it’s enemies to lovers!
there’s just something about a guy obsessed with beauty is shown that beauty doesn’t equal to value that melts me
omg i actually was obsessed with this concept a few months ago and i wrote a very short unfinished drabble (set in medieval au) about knight!vil falling for ‘ugly’ knight!reader but i didn’t think anyone would want to read about an ‘ugly’ reader 😭😭
i definitely agree tho the concept is so perfect for vil imo. like the idea of this guy who’s so fixated and obsessed with beauty (especially one who’s potentially been told that much of his worth lies in his looks) who ends up falling for someone very unconventional completely unintentionally. like theres’s a whole internal struggle in him that he doesn’t want to fall in love with this person. they’re an enemy, and unattractive at that.
but then he just can’t help but falling in love with their character; when they give hope to him and represent a goodness that he’d lost. someone who is called ugly and unwanted everyday by the world and manages to keep their head held high even if tears are pouring down their cheeks.
i think that’s a quality he’d admire a lot; kindness even when the world has been unkind. he wants to be good like that too. in a way, you’re like a mirror of the kind of goodness he wants to see in himself. you’re made fun of and put down at every turn and yet you do not let that stop you from being nice. whenever someone mocks vil, he can’t let it go, he can’t let himself be kind because it hurts and that’s the only protection he’s found.
also the idea of consciously thinking someone is unattractive but unconsciously starting to notice their eyes and lips and desire settling in- help-
unfinished drabble under the cut 👉👈 (also its fem reader bc i think medieval gender roles and the idea of ‘ugly’ woman x hot man couple is kind of important to the theme lol - aka this is just jaime x brienne rewritten but anyway-)
Vil truly believed you were ugly when he first met you. He almost never truly meant the term, but in this case, it was appropriate. Most everyone you encountered agreed. He could tell by how you’d stayed stone-faced at his cruel taunts, apparently used to it. Your features were just a bit too extreme, too out of place, too different. He’d used your appearance against you, scratching at every insecurity you’d thought of and probably some you hadn’t. Still, you hadn’t gotten angry as he’d hoped. You didn’t seek to harm him, even when he knew he’d struck a sore spot.
He persevered, but you’d never given in, despite his hopes that you would become blinded enough by anger and pain to give him a chance to escape. He admired you, in a way. It seemed as though life had beaten you down long before he’d come along, but a hardened rock had emerged from the erosion.
Sometimes his words would cut too deep for you to ignore. You never did anything rash, to his dismay, but he could tell they affected you. He didn’t feel bad; why should he? He was your hostage, and you his captor. Even if you were performing your duty, you were getting in the way of his own responsibilities, his life.
Vil was surprised to learn that you were a high-born like himself. Well, not exactly born to a family of his status and wealth, but a high-born nonetheless. He’d realized that he should’ve been addressing you with your Lady title, but you’d fought at soon as he’d tried.
No matter my origin, you know that no man sees me as a lady, Sir Vil.
-
They came, and they cut off his hair. One of them taunted him for being a beautiful husk. So they’d cut a deep gash across his face. Now your outside matches your inside, ‘Sir’, they’d mocked.
Vil had wished they’d cut off his head instead.
Later, after you’d managed to convince them to let you treat his wounds, he’d bemoaned to you.
Now we’re both grotesque, he’d said, a pair of freaks.
You’re not ugly, you just have a scar, you’d replied. You turned away from your task to face him. You’ll never know what it means to be ugly.
Even with his bitter remarks, you treated his wounds all the same. When he was too afraid to face himself in the reflection of the lake, you’d been the one to peel away his bandages and force him to look.
See, you’d said, not a monster, just a man.
He’d wondered if you were an angel at that moment, a saint. Or maybe you were a witch destined to lead him astray. He hadn’t really cared either way.

So I’ve seeing the ASOIAF author!Inquisitor AU has resurfaced. I have a curiosity: how does the DAI companion (perhaps also advisors) feel about the character Brienne of Tarth?
Cassandra: Sir Brienne of Tarth is without question or equivocation the greatest and most honorable character in any piece of literature. She is brave and unwavering in her loyalties, strong of oath and arm. Jamie Lannister does not deserve anything from her, but instead should be honored for whatever attention she chooses to bestow on him. Lady Stark could not have chosen a better champion for her daughters.
Years later, when the last book is finally written, Cassandra will receive the first copy. The handwritten note inside is simple and plain, but the Seeker will weep over it regardless and put it in a place of honor.
'I based her on you, Cass. I'm glad she meets your approval.'
Solas: A stoic and staid knight of little imagination who proves set in the thinking that might is right. Solas has no real opinion on the would be knight, for his attentions are on greater characters. But as Cassandra is one of the few companions willing to debate the merits of abandoning the North with real understanding he is willing to pretend greater regard than he might feel.
Varric: All he sees is Aveline, and while Kirkwall's resident author will never mention it to his friend it makes him smile. Somewhere far away Guard Captain Vallen is keeping his city safe with the same loyal tenacity-- he hopes Donnic sees the same parallels and points them out.
She still hasn't forgiven him for Swords and Shields.
Blackwall: She is fair and honorable, strong of arm and conviction. Everything a true lady knight should be. If she were real he would bet on her in the tourney. As it is her character is a welcome respite from those foul nobles in Kings Landing.
Vivienne: Madame de Fer can appreciate loyalty to one's charges and liege lord, even if Brienne's court manners would fail her utterly in the game. But she is a good role model for young templars in the circles Vivienne wants to rebuild, and so popular a series will help set the example.
Sera: Woof.
Dorian: Even if he is not romantically involved with the inquisitor (which he is, though it hardly grants him spoilers), it would not be hard to see that their resident Seeker is the basis for Brienne of Tarth. The necromancer fancies that his comment on Cassandra needing a blue scarf surely inspired the sapphire waters of Tarth, and is content with his addition to the Seven Kingdoms.
Now if only he can convince everyone else that Dorn is also a strategic name....
Iron Bull: She would be a hell of a sparring partner. The Qun badgers him enough about the books that even if he was not invested the Ben-Hassrath agent would have read them all. But he admires Brienne's singular focus, her loyalty and tenacity. Could use a bit more creative thinking, a little more ease with bending the rules. But she'd fit in well with the Qun.
She is added unanimously to the list of characters welcome in the Chargers. Krem will never admit his crush.
Cole: The characters are hard for him, when so many see them in so many ways. The books help--that is enough.
Josephine: She adores every character, except the Lannister's of course, and every winding path they take. Brienne would be about as difficult as Cassandra to train for social events, but just as useful. She does hope Jamie follows his heart and they wed though. That would be so wonderful!
Lelianna: She is watching greater characters, the horrors above the wall and below it, but something about the oath Brienne swears to Sansa reminds her of...
Of another, sworn long ago in far different circumstances with far greater sacrifices. It is a laughable thing, to sit in Skyhold a decade later and wonder how Shale would handle being compared to a fake human!
Cullen: He's just a little bit in love. It doesn't help that in some ways he sees himself in Jamie Lannister's redemption arc.

Brienne x gender neutral!reader
Tumblr media
How Protective Is She
- on a scale of 1-10? a respectful 11
- she’s a knight, honor and righteousness flow in her very veins, and she has been undervalued her entire life, denied of genuine romantic love and affection - and you think that those combined factors of her life WONT culminate in her being overprotective of you?
- Brienne is rational, she will not lose composure unless you are seriously upset/hurt, but if anyone threatens your honor, she will defend you with a broad stance, raised sword and very heartfelt speech before (probably) knocking a man to the ground (at the very least)
“Brienne, he just said I’m an ugly whore.”
“What?! Who did!?!”
The second you point at him, Brienne has marched right over, stood in her broad stance, raised her sword and cleared her throat.
“(Y/N) (Y/L/N) is the most beautiful person to ever grace this land, and for anyone to say otherwise is an insult of the highest order. That is something I cannot accept. I have taken an oath to protect (Y/N), and this includes protecting their honor and their feelings, both of which you have chosen to blatantly disregard. Furthermore, to use such a profession as a derogatory term is to rank yourself above it - are you willing to stake your life on having never involved yourself with sucu a profession, sir? To insult those who choose such a profession is insensitive and, most commonly, misogynistic, so I would advise you to read a book, once in a while. Now, I will request your surrender, or accept your offense is a crime that will be subject to a trial by combat, what say you?”
- that said, if anyone really upsets you or hurts you, Brienne will not hesitate
- she will make a speech over the offender’s grave fr but first she’s got to put them in there you feel me?
- she comes back to your tent with her head hanging, and you’re like “umm Brienne is everything alright” and she sighs and says “I accidentally killed him…” and you’re like “…the man that called me an ugly whore?” and she’s like “…yes 😔👀”
- when she meets you, she is certain that the training she has had her whole life has been in preparation for keeping you, her love, safe
- in the face of others flirting with you, Brienne will first combat her own insecurities (this will get easier the longer you are together) and have to convince herself she does deserve you, but her interrupting the conversation will mainly be fuelled by your obvious discomfort in the presence of whoever is flirting with you
- but she never wants to come across as possessive or overprotective, she never wants you to think that she thinks she owns you (rude bc she does), so she will verbally deny her sulking/sword swinging reactions to scenarios in which she is made protective/jealous
- Brienne’s expression never fails to give away her true feelings, so you always know, and you think she’s utterly adorable

At this point I think as a fandom, we've lost some of the crackship charm we once had. I can look up Ashara Dayne and Ser Davos and find results, But Nettles and Helaena have nothing. It's time to rectify that for my favourite girl and try to inspire some fanfics. Feel free to add more.
1. Daeron and Nettles
Tumblr media
Think Enemies to Lovers, Captive of War drama like Jaime and Brienne or just some good old Gwen and Arthur-inspired love. Ivy by Taylor Swift coded, a She's all that inspired affair. I genuinely think that he's just trying to be there for her with this one. It happens and neither of them realise until You're in Love starts playing.
2. Baela and Nettles.
Tumblr media
They would give the pot calling the kettle black in every argument. The Princess Bride-esque dynamic between them. Very Graham and Megan from but I'm a Cheerleader. Sapphic Pinning and Resentment should be its own genre. Sir Chloe's Michelle is my vision. We can even make a throuple with them and Jace or Alyn. Truly, I think they but heads until they kiss, building on resentment. I also think they would be the coolest couple.
3. Addam and Nettles
Tumblr media
Kaz and Inej core.
But in all seriousness, I think Addam being loyal and Duty bound and Nettles challenging that idea is delicious. Solider of Duty x Solider for the People. A modern-day Persuasion story but gender-flipped if we put our minds to it. See you Again Kali Uchis and Tyler the Creator, that's all.
4. Nettles and Helaena
Tumblr media
They just deserve better. That's all. Give me cottagecore sapphic romance with my best girls involves. Like the young lesbians from Barbie and the Diamond Castle. Lesbians raising kids together. Sheepstealer and Dreamfyre hatching eggs for the nieces and nephews. I just-
It would be so cool, I will by Mitski sentiment is already attached.
5. Alyn and Nettles
Tumblr media
Now that we are here obviously she apologized for Sheepstealer, she doesn't need to but she did, He tries not to like her but can't help it. She wins him over and they hatch him an egg or something idk. Think The Princess Diaries: Royal Engagement, Mia and Nicholas, Flipped the movie if you will. Jealously plots would slay. For the song choice think Shameless Camila Cabello. Please remember that Alyn is younger than Netty by 3/4 years though.
6. Rhaena and Nettles
Tumblr media
See now this is classic Friends to Lovers, Emma and Harriet if gay, perhaps, Bend it Like Beckham core definitely. Sofia by Clario inspired. Nettles doesn't leave Rhaena out because she's without a dragon and the same happens inverse. Sapphic confusion however, like Rhaena doesn't understand at first why she feels that way.
7. Nettles and Jace.
Tumblr media
Now for the Mr Knightley and Emma Woodhouse of our time, the Kate and Anthony of Westeros. The potential for her just not listening to him when he tries to tell her how to ride a dragon. Or when she talks to him about the people he'll rule over eventually, Ygritte and Jon style. She's also the only bastard who doesn't look Targaryen, he can relate to that a bit. I think she's Fierce and he's Stubborn. Ungodly Hour by Chloe x Halle for them.
8. Nettles and Alys.
Tumblr media
The Fire Witches of Westeros. I think they will be perfect as a ship. American Horror Story-esque characters. The two Witches in the story are obviously my favourites. It would be Jennifer's Body meets, the craft meets, and Suspiria. Willow by Taylor Swift becomes them.
This one was also a bonus more or less.
Anyways I just need to start to get a baseline story for my girl by the time the show gives her to us. So we have a general sense of direction, I'm tired of the mischaracterization of my baby. She's smart, resourceful, Cunning, Fearless, and not entirely loyal. She also curses, enough for it to be a character trait. Please remember this for her, I'm tired. I also know that Daemon loved her but she's too much fun as a character to limit her to him romantically in all her fanfictions, it is an interesting narrative to explore while we don't have exact answers but he gets romantic ships with anyone. She deserves more.

2- What's your total AO3 word count?

3- What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
They're all ATLA, which makes sense when you think about it. ATLA is probably the second-biggest fandom I've written for other than ASOIAF, but ASOIAF is so big it's sometimes hard to get noticed. That being said, when I sort by hits, three of the top five are ASOIAF so I guess more people are reading those and not liking them. It probably helps that my top-kudos ATLA fics are all Zuko-centric and he's one of the most popular ATLA characters in fic whereas I think the ASOIAF topics I focus on are perhaps a bit more niche.
tongued with fire (728 kudos)
i got soul, but i'm not a soldier (714 kudos)
cold fire (655 kudos)
we die with the dying; we are born with the dead (597)
the sword and the pen (577 kudos)
4- Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try to! I'll respond to all comments on recently published fic (unless it's a hate comment, which I delete) and for older works I try to respond, especially if it's a substantive comment. I like to engage with readers, especially since I tend to write a lot of really niche fandoms and it's nice to connect with other fans.
5- What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
probably either another atla fic that's set right after ursa leaves zuko and azula behind or this big love fic which has an ending that is... not necessarily angsty for the narrator but super bleak in context.
6- What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
I don't typically write fluffy romantic fic (I usually do more bittersweet gen focused on family relationships) but I did when I participated in the Jaime/Brienne ship exchange a few times and this bakery-themed modern AU is probably my fluffiest/happiest ending. Exchanges are kind of fun because this is very much the type of fic I would not have ever written on my own.
7- Do you write crossovers?
I have not!
8- Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Yes, lol. My Lannister twins genderswap fic was very controversial among a certain subset of fans who vocally disagreed with my characterization (I will sum this up as them basically believing that genderswapped Jaime would just be canon Cersei which...lol). That's the only fic I've ever got hate comments on, though I did get a really bizarre comment back in ninth grade on FF.net before I migrated to ao3 where the person enjoyed the fic but also used the comment to grandstand against abortion, a topic that in no way was mentioned in my fic. Sir This Is A Wendy's.
9- Do you write smut?
I do write sex scenes but I wouldn't describe them as smut because they're non-explicit and mostly like fade to black stuff.
10- Have you ever had a fic stolen?
YES LMFAOOOOOOOO SOMEONE TOOK A MULTICHAPTER FIC I WROTE ABOUT NINA AND OLEG FROM THE AMERICANS AND SELF-PUBLISHED IT ON AMAZON AS AN EBOOK.
11- Have you ever had a fic translated?
I think someone asked if they could translate one of my fics into another language but it was years ago and I don't remember if they did it or not or which fic it was or even which language it was.
12- Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes, my first ever fic! Me and my best friend wrote it in sixth grade and it's an unfinished sequel to Ivanhoe. We never published it, though. It's really, really bad lol.
13- What's your all-time favorite ship?
Tony and Carmela Soprano. sorry. Not ship in the fandom sense but...relationship of all time. (I honestly tend to write for canon pairings that I want to build on, anyway). In the traditional sense of "wanting them to get together in canon", probably Jaime/Brienne.
14- What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
I honestly don't really have a lot of published WIPs, because I tend to do oneshots and if they're not ready they're just not published. Right now I do have a two-chapter Greek mythology/Iliad retelling I wrote in high school that is absolutely never going to get updated ever, but frankly I don't feel particularly strongly about finishing that. I did have an actual multichapter WIP with the Lannister genderswap fic that I really felt bad about not working on, but I finally finished it!
15- What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm good with dialogue and characterization! A lot of my fic focuses on precanon/younger versions of canon characters ("flashback fic") and I think I'm pretty good at developing backstories. Also if I may say so myself, I write decent prose.
16- What are your writing weaknesses?
Plotting, which is why I tend to do shorter character-study stories. I really struggle with doing actual plotlines. (This is also a problem in my original fiction, lol. I'm always like. Okay I have these fascinating people in an interesting setting. Now what the hell are they going to do).
17- What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
If it makes sense in context, like a bilingual character, sure. I do think it should probably be written so that it's clear what is going on to readers who only know the primary language of the fic, though.
18- What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Other than the aforementioned Ivanhoe sequel, it was Harry Potter.
19- What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?
Can't really think of anything!
20- What's your favorite fic you've written?
I'm very proud of the Lannister genderswap fic because it's probably my most significant achievement in terms of plotting, which as I mentioned is hard for me, and I'm really happy I returned to it after over a year's hiatus and finished it! I'm also really proud of this big love fic because I appreciate the effort I put into fleshing out the characters' world (including historical research) and I think it is a really good work of character study.
Tagging @when-did-this-become-difficult @ofhouseadama and anyone else who wants to do this, I can't think of many mutuals on here whose fanfiction output I'm particularly familiar with.

Lady Stoneheart + Sir Gawain and the Green Knight: Parallels and Symbolism
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The steel was polished to such a high sheen that she could see her reflection in the breastplate, gazing back at her as if from the bottom of a deep green pond. The face of a drowned woman, Catelyn thought. Can you drown in grief? — Catelyn, ACOK
Catelyn's face reflected in renly's green armour reminded me of the story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. I decided to dig into it and surprisingly found many things evocative of Lady Stoneheart.
1. A Judge
The Green Knight appears in Arthurian tales as a judge or tester of knights, challenging them to honour their promises. Lady Stoneheart plays a similar role in ASOIAF by demanding that jaime and brienne honour their promise to return her daughters or face death.
2. Colours: Green + Grey
It has been argued that green is wrongly attributed to the green knight owing to a mistranslation of the Cornish word glas, which means grey. In another variation of the story, the knight is often called "the man of the grey mantle".
Lady Stoneheart is heavily associated with grey.
Grey was the color of the silent sisters, the handmaidens of the Stranger. Brienne felt a shiver climb her spine. Stoneheart. — Brienne, AFFC
3. Identities and Aliases
At the end of the story, the green knight reveals himself to be Bertilak de hautdesert, Lord of a castle. Before getting resurrected as a fire wight, Lady Stoneheart was Catelyn tully stark.
On my honour as a Tully, on my honour as a Stark. — Catelyn, ASOS
4. A Game (of thrones)
The word gomen (game) is found 18 times in Gawain. Its similarity to the word gome (man), which appears 21 times, has led some scholars to see men and games as centrally linked.
The story itself began with a "Christmas game", known in folk stories as a "beheading game".
What... what game?
The only game. The game of thrones.
Catelyn ends up as Lady Stoneheart because her son wins every battle but loses the war, i.e., loses the game of thrones. Catelyn too was one of the players of the game, of course.
5. Winter, seasonality, and the rise and fall of things
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Green Knight tells Gawain to meet him at the Green Chapel in "a year and a day"—in other words, the next New Year's Day. Scholars interpret the yearly cycles, each beginning and ending in winter, as the poet's attempt to convey the inevitable fall of all things good and noble in the world
Winter is of course an extremely important motif in ASOIAF:
They are the knights of Summer, and winter is coming. — Catelyn, ACOK
It's also interesting to note that feasts are important events in both stories: the green knight first appears at a Christmas feast and Catelyn is killed at a wedding feast.
6. Trophies and Temptation: Girdles and Flayed skins
Tumblr media
Roose bolton offers a piece of theon's flayed skin to Catelyn, and she is tempted to accept it.
"May I offer you this…small token of revenge?" Part of Catelyn wanted to clutch the grisly trophy to her heart, but she made herself resist. — Catelyn, ASOS
As Lady Stoneheart, she fully gives in to her temptation and ruthlessly pursues revenge.
"...She wants to feed the crows, like they did at the Red Wedding. Freys and Boltons, aye. We'll give her those, as many as she likes." —Brienne, AFFC
In Gawain's story, he is gifted a girdle by his hostess, the Lady Bertilak. He had earlier promised his host that he'd return whatever he got at the end of the day, but Lady Bertilak insists that it's a magical girdle that will prevent Gawain from being killed at the hands of the green knight. He gives in to temptation and keeps the girdle.
7. Chivalry and Contradictions: So many vows
The knight's code of honour requires Gawain to do whatever a damsel asks. Gawain must accept the girdle from the Lady, but he must also keep the promise he has made to his host that he will give whatever he gains that day. Gawain chooses to keep the girdle out of fear of death, thus breaking his promise to the host but honouring the lady.
Gawain's dilemma about whether to keep the girdle as ordered by his hostess or return it to his host and honour his promise to him reflects jaime's dilemma and the contradictory vows of knighthood.
So many vows...they make you swear and swear. Defend the king. Obey the king. Keep his secrets. Do his bidding. Your life for his. But obey your father. Love your sister. Protect the innocent. Defend the weak. Respect the gods. Obey the laws. It's too much. No matter what you do, you're forsaking one vow or the other. — Jaime, ACOK
It's also interesting to note that the five pointed star or the pentangle is heavily associated with Gawain, reminiscent of the seven pointed star of the faith associated with Westerosi knights (and by extension with jaime) as they are anointed by the faith.
8. Wounds to the neck
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Catelyn's throat is slit by the freys before they dumped her in the river, and as a result, she is unable to speak properly.
At the story's climax, Gawain is wounded in the neck by the Green Knight's axe.
The symbolism surrounding wounds:
During the medieval period, the body and the soul were believed to be so intimately connected that wounds were considered an outward sign of inward sin. The neck, specifically, was believed to correlate with the part of the soul related to will.
Hope you enjoyed this post!

A Spouse for a Ser?
Brienne of Tarth/Lady Lyla Mooten (OFC)
Part 2 fluff continues. I swear I mean for there to be smut here somewhere...honest. 🤷‍♀️
@thoroughly--confused as requested. I hope you enjoy part 2 🙃
——————————————————————
“You want to fight Ser Mallister for the right to wed my daughter?” Lord Mooten asked incredulously. “No, my lord, I want to fight Ser Mallister for Lady Mooten to be granted the right to choose which of the combatants she wishes to wed.” “The girl choose?” he was almost hysterical now. “That’s absurd!” Brienne was now visibly angry. “Respectfully, my lord, it is no more absurd than allowing the chance of a competition to determine her spouse.”
“This is a time honored tradition!” he had, without a doubt, achieved hysterics. “Just because something is a tradition doesn’t mean it has merit or that it should continue,” Brienne had lost her previously diplomatic tone and was now responding with open anger.
King Bran felt it was time to intervene. “Come now, Lord Mooten, let’s not be brash.” “I beg your pardon, your highness?” “Let’s think of the audience’s entertainment. Besides, if the idea of a woman fighting for the right of a lady to choose her own suitor, is as absurd as you say then surely Sir Mallister will have no trouble easily defeating Ser Brienne. Where’s the harm?”
While Lord Mooten spluttered at having his own words turned back at him, Brienne redirected her anger to Ser Mallister. “Are you afraid to fight me?” she asked tauntingly. “Umm…” “Of course not!” exclaimed Lord Mooten. “Right, yes, of course not,” Ser Mallister concurred with far less conviction.
“In fact, I’m so confident in Ser Mallister’s abilities, I’ll double the price of my daughter’s dowry.” “Uh, my lord…” Ser Mallister started, but he was cut of by King Bran. “How magnanimous of you, Lord Mooten. Well, that’s settled then. We’ll have the final, final round tomorrow morning. Good luck to you both.”
As Brienne walked a visibly happier Lady Mooten back into her rooms, she was caught off guard by the lady turning and leaping up into her arms. Brienne grabbed her to keep her from falling, and the lady wrapped her arms tightly around Brienne’s neck before placing a kiss on her cheek, causing Brienne to blush deeply as she bent to return her to her feet.
“Thank you, Ser Brienne!” “It will be my honor to fight Ser Mallister for you my lady.” “What can I do to repay you?” “You can join me this evening for dinner down by the shore.” Lady Mooten gave Brienne a big smile that caused her to blush again. “That sounds lovely.” “I’ll make the arrangements then,” Brienne said, sheepishly.
As they sat down to dinner, Brienne smiled to see Lady Mooten begin enjoying her food in between pauses in which she excitedly related the details of an acrobatic street performance she’d witnessed from her window earlier. Brienne had been so worried about her becoming withdrawn before. This was lovely.
“Have you given any thought to whom you may choose should I be successful?” Brienne asked cautiously. Lady Mooten smiled at her before reaching out and taking Brienne’s hand briefly. “I’m certain my brave knight will be successful.” Her brave knight was now a deep shade of scarlet. “…and yes, sort of..I think I know who I’d like to have…although…”
“May I ask who you have in mind?” “Oh, I think I’m going to make it a surprise…while I work up the courage to say it.” “You’ll be fine, you just need to speak for yourself and make your wishes known. Don’t let anyone discourage you from that,” Brienne told her firmly. Lady Mooten grazed her hand again and smiled at her. “Thank you, Ser Brienne for everything.” The desire to help the lady gave Brienne the urge to kick the living shit out of Mallister.
And that’s precisely what she did the next morning. It was an embarrassing performance from Ser Mallister. He led with an offensive gesture which Brienne easily parried, rolling her energy fluidly into disarming him and swiping his leg sending him sprawling. She then leapt onto her prone opponent knocking his helmet off and pummeling his face with her pent up anger until he yielded.
She stood to find Lord Mooten scowling at her. King Bran and Lady Mooten applauded before King Bran congratulated her on a fight well fought. “Thank you, you grace.” “Lady Mooten, I believe that means you are free to choose a spouse from among the competitors. Have you decided whom you would have?” “Yes, your grace, I have. I choose Ser Brienne.”
There was a collective gasp from several members of the audience followed by a low murmuring. “This is outrageous!” Lord Mooten, back at it again with the hysterics. He stood towering angrily over his daughter before turning to Brienne.
“You!” He shouted pointing his finger at her. “This is all your fault.” He turned to King Bran. “She’s corrupted her mind! That’s what has been happening in my daughter’s quarters. That thing is a pervert,” he spat.
“You’re angry so I’ll allow you the benefit of the doubt and assume you spoke in haste when you decided to refer to the knight I chose to captain my guard as a pervert and a thing.”
Ser Mallister surprised everyone by interjecting, “She won the fight fairly, and Lady Mooten has exercised her right according to the terms you agreed to Lord Mooten.” “I’m sorry. I hadn’t thought I needed to specify that my daughter should not choose a woman as her husband.”
Ser Mallister spat a considerable amount of blood into the dirt before shrugging and saying, “A regrettable oversight on your part, my lord.” Lord Mooten stared dumbfounded at Ser Mallister.
“I think the four of us should retire inside to further discuss the specifics of Lady Mooten’s choice,” King Bran said to Lord Mooten. “Her choice is null. She can’t marry a woman!” “Let me insist that we move inside,” King Bran said in a tone Brienne had never previously heard from her ruler. It caused her to grip her sword hilt.
Finally, Lord Mooten seemed to remember who was politely phrasing what was very much a command, and he stood to go inside as instructed. As the rest of the party moved to go inside as well, King Bran instructed Ser Blackwood to stay close to Lady Mooten to intervene should her father threaten violence.
He then called Ser Brienne to lag behind slightly with him. “Your grace?” “What do you make of Lady Mooten’s choice Ser Brienne?” Brienne hesitated. “Your grace, I’m not sure what to make of it. I’m afraid her father might be correct in fact, even if I despise the spirit in which he states it.” “What do you mean?” “Well, your grace, a woman cannot marry a woman.” “And a woman cannot be a knight, until a woman becomes a knight.” Brienne looked at him in confusion. “Just because something is tradition doesn’t mean it has merit or that it should continue.”
Brienne cocked her head to the side. “Your grace?” “Yes?” “If I am overstepping my place, please excuse me, but may I ask a question of you?” “Of course.” “Was any of this your intention when you assigned me to guard Lady Mooten?” “My intentions are irrelevant, Ser Brienne. The only intentions that matter are those of Lady Mooten and yourself.”
He continued, “I have lands that are in need of someone to tend them and Lord Mooten has a second born son who has been behaving jealously over his first born’s inheritance. I believe I can appease his anger, but I expect he will show little regard for his daughter after today. You are, of course, not obligated to comply with her request. I will see that she has everything she needs, but will you go and speak to her while I deal with her father?” “Of course, your grace.”
Brienne lagged further behind as she attempted to process everything that had occurred that morning. She overtook Ser Blackwood in the corridors and excused him, taking over the task of leading the lady back to her quarters.
“Are you alright, my lady?” “Yes, I wasn’t surprised by my father’s reaction. I thought I was prepared to accept his will for me, but that changed…” she trailed off. “I am sorry for bringing him shame though.” “I don’t believe he is worthy of your sympathies, my lady. I, too, struggled and failed at meeting my father’s expectations.” Lady Mooten looked up hopefully at Brienne, but she failed to notice appearing to be lost in her own thoughts.
“My lady?” “Yes?” “When you chose me did you do so thinking the request would be denied as impossible? …as a way to avoid having to choose the others?” “No,” Lady Mooten replied simply. She detected a blush forming on the knight’s cheeks.
As they entered the lady’s rooms, Brienne suddenly felt uncertain of how to proceed. She didn’t know what to say or what to do. “My lady, is there anything I can get for you? Are you hungry?” “Ser Brienne, do you want to leave?” “No, not if you wish me to stay.” “Have you given any consideration to my choice?”
“My lady, is there no other more suitable suitor who caught your eye? Perhaps you just desire a different sort of husband, one who doesn’t express their thoughts by braining anyone who blinks at them wrong?”
Lady Mooten smiled affectionately at Brienne as she attempted a tone of levity to cover up how unsure she was of the situation. “It wasn’t necessarily their combative nature that caused me to overlook them. It’s just that something better caught my eye.” “My lady, I believe your judgement to be sound after spending considerable time in your company, but I begin to be concerned for your vision.”
She was deflecting with humor again, it was cute but also a little bit frustrating. “Can you name anyone of the other competitors who would have taken me on a stroll through the botanical gardens because they noticed I was worrying and wanted to make me feel better?” Brienne was silent while she tried to think of a single one of the young men who might be inclined toward a thoughtful gesture of the sort. She came up empty handed.
When she failed to speak, Lady Mooten continued, “If we should locate a candidate capable of sparing a thought for my feelings, are there any that would be equally up to the task of making a man who broke into my chambers and assaulted me regret his decision deeply by beating him into the ground?”
Brienne thought hard. She had some good fighters in her guard, but most of them were unlikely to also be the sort to notice their companion’s nervous mood and attempt to intervene with a pleasant diversion. In fact, most of them were almost as good at objectifying their ‘love interests’ as there were a knocking the hell out of their opponents.
Lady Mooten walked over to Brienne, stopped in front of her and reached up onto her tip toes to gently push a lock of messy blonde hair out of her eyes. She gently traced her fingertips down, softly past the side of her eye, down over her cheekbone, down to her jaw line. “I think it’s just you, ser knight,” she spoke so softly it was almost a whisper. Brienne felt almost mesmerized by the tenderness. She’d never experienced anything like it, at least not that she remembered. Presumably, her mother had been affectionate when she was a baby, but Brienne had no memory of anyone ever caressing her face.
Brienne realized she was staring oddly at Lady Mooten as the touch had produced such a strange effect on her. She jolted out of the sensation and turned breaking eye contact; once again uncertain.
“Ser Brienne, of course I don’t wish to disregard your own feelings in this matter. If you don’t feel capable of marrying me I will respect that. You don’t have to worry about hurting me. I only want your honesty.”
Brienne turned back to her, not even sure what she planned to say, as she decided to try and express her feelings. “My lady, it was my duty to protect you,” Lady Mooten felt her gut drop as she prepared to be let down, “but it has been my pleasure to act as your companion these last few days.” The sinking feeling was quickly overtaken by renewed hope as she waited for Brienne to continue.
“I know we can be excellent companions, but I’m simply not sure how a woman goes about providing another woman with…”she struggled for the words… “the other parts of a marital relationship that men usually offer to women.”
Lady Mooten smiled tenderly again at the sight of Brienne stumbling to express her uncertainty properly. “I’m not sure you would ever really be…” she fell silent looking down and then over out the window. “satisfied? You mean?” Brienne turned back to her. “I’m sorry?” “You mean you’re not sure you’d be able to satisfy me right?” Brienne blushed deeply.
“Well, yes, I think so.” Lady Mooten breathed deeply and paused a moment before continuing, “Perhaps we could figure it out together?”

Speaking of rewriting.
Game of Thrones.
One of the bigger changes I would make is I'd give Sansa a good love interest after her ordeal with Ramsey.

He was one of Robb's Squires. He saw what happened at the Red Wedding. He was saved by the Black Fish and trained by him and then sent with Brienne to go to Winterfell to protect what is left of Catelyn's family.
The sad boy meets the broken girl and it is love. The handsome prince Sansa always wanted.
He becomes Jon's squire and later knighted after the Battle of Winterfell. "Sir Connor Mormont of the Battle of the Bastards."
He and Jon don't always see eye to eye especially when it comes to Tyrion (a Lannister) and Dany - a Targaryen with 3 dragons and an army of Dothraki at her back. He was afterall raised in the North. He knows these "savages" and he knows the history of what the Targaryens did and he knows that Tywin Lannister had his king (Robb) murdered.
Anyway, kissy Kissy fight angry words more kisses and fights.
Sansa becomes Queen of the North with Connor as her consort and they have beautiful blond children and they name their first son "Robb". Also, Sansa remains "Stark" so that her children and her children's children will keep the name.
