[OOC] DPS Swallowtail build for supports who want to ball
The other day I was pondering how to make the most of Death's Head Main/Aux + Heavy mounts, and thought "I't such a shame I have to get to at least LL4 before I can get the Oracle LMG-1 so all my weapons have at least range 15"
And then it hit me: forget the Death's Head. Just get Swallowtail.
Have Crack Shot and Gunslinger at LL0. For the first two levels, advance Gunslinger. By the time you unlick the Swallowtail and the OLMG-1 you'll have Gunslinger 3.
Mount 4 LMGs so you can charge your Gunslinger Die faster by Barraging. 4d3 damage isn't a lot, but thanks to Arcing and Accurate from the LMGs and the further accuracy from Crack Shot, you can pump it consistently every turn even if your enemies are behind walls; and every 2-3 turns you get to do 4d3+2d6 damage (min 6 - avg 15 - max 24) half of which is AP and ignores cover. if you invested in Systems once or twice, you'll still have enought SP for +2 HP from Modifications as well as Scout Drone, which helps your team without requiring a lot of actions from you; which is good because you want to be shooting as much as possible.
At LL3, get Integrated Mount and another LMG so you can charge the Gunslinger die even faster, potentially even using it EVERY TURN if all your shots hit. Also Crack Shot 2 for another 1d6 damage on a crit. Get the Siege Stabilizers from Barbarossa to bring your machineguns to a crisp 20 range.
At LL4, Crack Shot 3 so you can harass as well as damage like a Swallowtail is "supposed" to do.
At LL6 get Overpowered Caliber and Brutal. Do up to 4d6+5d3 damage when all your bonuses come together (min 9 - avg 24 - max 39), potentially even every round, which on a Nat20 becomes just a straight 39.
The only real weaknesses I see are:
If you want to be a good support as well as a good sniper you'll need to invest heavily in systems for not as much return as a dedicated hacker, but honestly I think being able to both support decently and shoot pretty damn well is a winning strategy.
Armor can make most of your attack ineffective since you rely on many weak weapons instead of one strong one. However, both Prophetic Scanners and Gunslinger 3 can bypass armor.
Might make this into an in-character post later

[Alarm meme sfx] [breaks door] Hallo! I have come up with a suggestion for you!
Which rhythm games do the mercs play, or would play? And why?
There's a lot of different mechanics —such as judgment lines, kinds of notes, spam— and characteristics to explore and compare, so go wild! I'll add some links as guidance: Arcaea, Phigros, Lanota, and Project SEKAI.
Take care! > ◡ <
What Rhythm Games Do The TF2 Mercs Like and Why?
————————————————————
Hello to you too! This is such a cool ask! Also, mutual appreciation comment: Love you and all the kind reblogs from you 🫶🏻
————————————————————
I haven't played a lot of rhythm games, so I hope you like these 😭
————————————————————
Gotta get this out of the way, the reason they all love these games besides the reasons specified is because of the praise. These guys are so desperate to be told they're doing a good job it's crazy.
————————————————————
Demo- Rhythm Heaven, this man loves cute things. He definitely gets upset about the issues that come with a lack of depth perception. He makes it work, though, and always tries and has fun regardless of if he does well or not.
Engineer- Dance Dance Revolution. He's insane. You'd think a middle-aged man who's used to sitting, sketching, designing, and creating things in his room wouldn't be the best at DDR, but he's so good. He loves to dance!
Heavy- Arcaea is one that he really likes, but I don't think he has a favorite. Rhythm games are hard for him. There's lots of room of error. He loves how like absolutely hard the music in Arcaea goes, so he'd definitely pick that one a lot more than others, if he had to choose.
Medic- Lovebirb. He loves music (so he's already a fan of rhythm games), and now he can add birds into it!? Sign him up. He adores the art style and the idea of birds finding love. It's beautiful to him!
Scout is a killer at Beat Saber. It's almost scary. Once he gets focused on it, good luck beating his high score. So quick tie into another headcannon, Medic loves music and has tried to play Rush E multiple times and struggles, (Ik Beat Saber and acutal instruments are different but like omg they all look super hard.) Scout on second try did Rush E perfect on Beat Saber. Medic was mouth agape. He's a fan of having to spam things. He loves quick moments because he's always in need of a way to burn off energy. (This man is so Jerma coded I'd be so wrong not to say he didn't play the same game Jerma played with Miku even if it isn't a rhythm game 😭).
Sniper- Osu! Laser accuracy. He could be playing the hardest level out there and is pinpointing it perfectly. He is the worst to try and play against. He's almost as bad as Scout, but Scout doesn't really get why people are so shocked at how good he is. Sniper is smug about it.
Spy- Just. Dance. King. This man has played every just dance game out there. He's too good at this game. It's worrying. He's not even really a good dancer or anything. But this man has every dance locked into his memory. He loves the songs and also likes the idea of being a pop star, but he won't ever admit that.
Soldier- Guitar Hero. This man can shread on the guitar. Like Spy and his pop star dreams, he loves the idea of being a rockstar, but he's willing to admit that. I actually think when he was younger, he saved up money and bought himself a guitar and an amp and used to play it all the time. But as he grew up, he didn't have time for it. But now, anytime someone brings up video games, he's super excited to whip out the plastic guitar.
Pyro- Melatonin. Genuinely not a fan rhythm games. It's a sensory overload. Loud noise, lots of movement, and too many things to pay attention to. (Just like me fr). The minute they saw Melatonin, they were thrilled and fell in love instantly.
————————————————————
I'm sorry if this wasn't as good as my other's. I had a hard time with this bc I don't play rhythm games 😭 it was still super cool to do!

Can I request Fem Reader that’s skilled in archery? Like, she uses archery in battles against Curses and is so skilled, she could do impressive feats, like shooting three arrows at once, shooting in midair, or even doing flips and even shooting with her feet if needed (yes that’s actually possible). HCs with the JJK crew?
These characters would be impressed by your technique. Often, they find it dependable and would stake their life on you having their back in a fight. There may be a hint of jealousy in their admiration for you for some of the passive skills required to wield a bow: strength, dexterity, and accuracy. You have them all in spades.
Nobara might have a bit of a girl crush on you when she first sees your skills and acrobatics.
Megumi definitely asked you to train him on it at least once and bailed out on it ever again when he got snapped with the string. Itadori, as always, was surprisingly adept.
+ MEGUMI, Inumaki, Panda, MIWA, Nobara, Riko, INO
These characters would admire and respect your skill – the same as the above – but it’s harder to match your fighting styles together. Their movement speed or technique either makes it harder to aim, find an opening shot, or maybe your skill levels are just not a match such as with Satoru.
If you’re a student, Satoru definitely hypes you up (not so much if you’re a full-fledged Sorcerer already). However, he’s always particularly grateful when you snipe annoying or pissant enemies for him, he just loves when you do it randomly and make a path for him.
Maki likes working with you, but it takes a bit more coordination and discussion to get on the same page before a battle. You’re a great team once you get the timing and situation down. She respects you the most when it comes to cursed tools out of anyone else.
+ Gojo, Itadori, MAKI, Yuuta
Neutral to slightly positive about your technique.
+ Choso, Yuuki, Shoko, Utahime, Mei Mei, Nanami, Yaga
You have some real enemies/rival to lover’s energy with the other marksmen from school.
Noritoshi is quietly envious of your skill when you first meet. His clan’s bloodline is the only thing giving him the audacity to lord it over you in conversation. He has that aura of when someone sounds like they’re being polite to you but they’re actually being mean or belittling.
It eases up as time goes on and your relationship with the other students develops more. He comes to rely on you as you’re often paired up together or given the same duties in certain situations or missions.
On the other hand, Mai is more openly teasing and snarkier with you. However, she has less humor when dealing with you than Nobara. As another far range sniper, you represent another potential for her in a way similar to Maki.
Momo is more of a tagalong hater, but when it’s just the two of you, it’s a fairly normal and cordial relationship.
+ MAI, Kamo, Momo
Although your proficiency with the bow is high, it wouldn’t be enough to impress these powerhouses without an interesting or strong curse technique to back it up.
Mahito would be impressed by your accuracy to hit him but if it doesn’t affect his soul then it isn’t an issue for him other than slowing him down or blocking him during a fight. Then, it might become an annoyance.
Mechamaru would find your technique annoying when it comes to his smaller machines especially if you can aim for the weak spots of joints; but overall, you don’t leave an impression on him and the others.
Despite your skill, as a woman, Naoya wouldn't ever give you the satisfaction of being proud of your abilities.
+ SUKUNA, Mahito, Jogo, KENJAKU, Geto, Mechamaru, Todo, Naoya, Toji

Here’s a Crosshair request for you if you’d like!
I’m a sucker for the undercover-at-a-gala trope so what if you’re a Jedi shadow (like Quinlan Vos) who works with the Bad Batch once and awhile, and you’re in an established relationship with Crosshair. There’s a separatist gala you need to infiltrate and Crosshair goes as your date. While you two are sneaking around the venue, you have to hide in the nearest room that turns out to be a bedroom and Crosshair has ideas 😏 thank you! Love your writing!!
ANON!!! I AM SO SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG!!!! I have literally no idea why i struggled with this ask for what? over a month??? I must have deleted a combined like 3k words for this over the time i was trying to write it. But i would not let it beat me, i had to finish this ask for u for waiting so patiently.
also its like, a bingo card of every trope for this trope so i apologies for how uninspired this is lmao
Side note, I am very sick at the moment and on a lot of painkillers, so like, I proof read this but please let me know of any glaring issues or mistakes because I'm not of this world currently.

Walking through the elegant halls of a senator’s estate on Scipio you can’t help but gawk at the splendour of it all. The insane amount of money one must have to own a home like this simply baffles you as you walk arm in arm with your date for the night through the ornate halls.
Some leaked intel let the republic know that some unscrupulous things were to go down tonight within these halls, and you don’t doubt the accuracy of that information given the amount of high ranking members of the Banking Clan you have seen engaging in hushed conversations in hidden alcoves of the grandiose estate.
Your partner turns to look down at you and you can’t help but blush under his gaze. Crosshair was always a handsome man, but seeing him clad entirely in a fine, black suit was a whole new level of desirable. A service droid passes you, stopping long enough for the two of you to grab a flute of what appeared to be more bubbles than liquid before continuing on its way through the winding halls of the building.
“You look absolutely ravishing tonight mesh’la” Crosshair whispers, breath fanning over your ear as you take a sip of your no doubt pricey beverage. You couldn’t find it in you to disagree with him, black silks hugged your frame, accentuating your figure in all the best ways, something your jedi robes were absolutely not designed for. While you did feel naked without your lightsaber, you understood the necessity of remaining entirely undetectable. You smile up at him, noting the make-up that has covered his trademark tattoo, his slicked back hair and absolutely dazzling smile.
When the moment called for it, Crosshair could reluctantly play the part of suave, chatty businessperson which honestly surprised you at first. He was absolutely the least talkative member of the squad by a mile, all short replies and clipped words, so when this mission was assigned to the Batch you were shocked that they had all immediately turned their attention to Crosshair.
“He’s the most arrogant, thus will fit in perfectly with the typical crowd at one of these types of functions” Tech had said, earning himself a smack on the back of the head from the Sniper, “among other reasons, Hunter looks too much like a regular clone, I am needed to extrapolate the data that you acquire and Wrecker is… Wrecker” Tech adjusts his goggles before continuing “It would also look out of place for one of us to go alone, and you two already have, um, chemistry, for lack of a better term”
He wasn’t wrong about that; you and Crosshair hadn’t exactly put a label on anything yet, but everyone knew there was something there.
Finally, after a few hours of simply wandering the halls you find your target, a simply unassuming Muun that has been implicated in embezzling funds and using it to pad separatist pockets. He was speaking in hushed whispers with a human male before the man passed him a small, innocuous looking data stick before parting ways with a polite nod.
Your time to shine.
You leave Crosshair’s side, giving his hand a quick squeeze as you go, before sauntering over to the target and ‘accidently’ spilling the contents of your flute, onto his silk robes. Stuttering and apologising you begin patting him down, slipping your hand into his pocket and retrieving the data stick as he shoved you away, telling you he was going to send you the bill for getting the stains out of his clothes. “This is pure shimmersilk you know!” he yelled at you as you made your hasty exit, apologising profusely as you retreat towards where Crosshair was waiting, arms crossed as he leaned against a marble pillar, a slight smile tugging at his lips.
“You got it doll?” he whispers, wrapping a long arm around your waste as he begins leading your further into the throng of people and towards the exit. “Of course” you reply, sinking further into his side. Hopefully the two of you would make it out before he even noticed it was missing.
Your hopes were dashed as you heard a panicked “Hey! Wait!” coming from behind you.
Crosshair grabs your arm, pulling you into the nearest unlocked room before softly closing and locking the door. Both of you hold your breath, listening to the sound of approaching and then thankfully retreating footsteps. It doesn’t seem like anyone saw you, but you still wait together in silence before turning the light on to look at the room you have found yourselves in for the foreseeable future.
It's a luxurious bedroom, a four-poster bed draped in magnificent silks with more pillows than anyone could possibly need adorning it. Crosshair takes his comm and a small datapad out of his pocket, reaching his hand out to you for you to pass him the datastick before plugging it into the device and comming Tech to let him know he can begin starting the transfer and telling him of your less than ideal situation at the moment. He tells you that Hunter will be there within the next standard hour for extraction but until then you just need to hang tight.
You sit down on the bed, running your hands along the silken sheets before looking back up to Crosshair. His eyes are raking over your form as he placed the datapad down on one of the bedside tables before walking over to you.
“So doll, it seems we have the better part of an hour to keep ourselves occupied…” He trails off, sitting next to you on the bed, one hand finding your thigh while the other softly pushes you back onto the plush surface. “And no one knows we’re in here” his thumb begins soothing circles into your hip as he looms above you, one hand holding himself up as he stares down at you.
“So it seems…” you smile as you use the fact that your legs are still hanging off the bed to your advantage, kicking your heels off before you shimmy further up the bed, until you’re leaning back against the mountain of pillows. Crosshair crawls up the bed after you before his lips meeting yours in a passionate kiss.
“Kark doll, you look so good in this dress, it’s been so kriffing hard keeping my hands off you all night” he mumbles against your lips, calloused hands already working their way underneath your dress towards your panties. You let out a small whimper, the feeling of his rough fingers digging into your flesh making heat pool low in your belly as Crosshair begins placing languid kisses against your neck, working his way down to your collarbone before sucking dark marks into your skin.
The chirping from his comm startles both of you, making you jump before Crosshair angrily grabs the device “What do you want Tech?” he growls out. “I just thought that you would want to know that Hunter will be arriving earlier than expected and to be ready for extraction in the next 30 standard minutes” Tech replies, obviously somewhat irate, not enjoying the tone that his brother is giving him. “Understood” Crosshair replies, turning off the device and throwing it onto the bed before returning his attention back to you.
“Looks like we will have to make this quicker than I wanted, but don’t worry princess, I’ll worship you like you deserve once we get back to base” his fingers begin toying with you over the fabric of your panties while his lips busy themselves against yours once again. His mouth swallows every sound that you make as his skilful fingers rub tight circles against your clit, already bringing you close to the edge with practiced ease.
Your panties are soaked at this point, his assault on your senses overwhelming you as you try to stifle your sounds as not to alert anyone who could potentially be loitering outside the door. His hand leaves you momentarily as he fumbles with the fastenings on his pants, opening them just far enough to free his weeping length.
Pulling your panties to the side, he sinks into you, letting out a breathy groan as he slides into your heat in a single motion. Resting his weight entirely on one hand he brings his other to cover your mouth as he begins an absolutely brutal pace, the layers of your clothing helping to muffle the sounds of him relentlessly driving into you.
You silently thank him for covering your mouth, the way he’s fucking into you would have you screaming for him. You wrap your legs around his waist, bringing him closer to you, trying to get him to go deeper and deeper with every thrust. Your eyes roll into the back of your head as he hits that spot inside you with the head of his cock with every thrust, turning you into a mess with every drag of his hard length through your slick folds.
Lowering his head you can feel his breath fanning over your ear as he whispers filth into your ear “so tight for me kriff… I can feel you choking my cock you’re so close aren’t you?” you nod, staring up at him with wide eyes. He angles his hips, grinding down onto your clit with every thrust as he loses his rhythm, chasing his own release as he feels your walls fluttering around him. “cum for me doll” his whispers have an almost pleading nature to them, like he’s holding himself back from the edge waiting to tumble over the peak with you. A few more deep thrusts pull your orgasm from you, flooding your nerves as pleasure washes over you, causing your walls to clench around him. With a strangled groan against your neck he follows you over the edge, pumping ropes of hot cum inside of you, hips stuttering as his cock throbs.
You’re lying on the bed, Crosshair still sheathed inside you as his comm chirps again “Oh for the love of… Yes?” he slips out of you, tucking himself away as he talks, apparently Hunter is only five standard minutes away so you adjust your panties and swiftly put your heels back on.
Crosshair places a kiss to your temple before you make your escape.

As a follow-up on the Salmon Run weapon tier list, here's my personal Boss Salmonid threat level tier list!
Tumblr media
Since this one does not have 55 entries, I can actually go into a bit more detail on each, so from the top:
Flyfish: I've already spoken at length about my opinions on Flyfish, but to summarize they are a massive damage threat at any range, are hard to reach, and have an incredibly small window of vulnerability that requires either one player to focus all their attention on them, or two players working in tandem, and even then are prone to physics engine wonkiness that robs you of kills you should have gotten. They are massive time sinks to deal with and are the only Boss Salmonid I think is unbalanced.
Stinger: The snipers of the bunch, Stingers can output consistently high damage with frightening accuracy, and would probably be the single biggest threat in the mode were they not so easy to take out. Not all weapons do it well, admittedly, but most of the time Stingers offer so little resistance that they're practically beaten as soon as someone gets within firing range of one. But make sure someone does that, or else they can singlehandedly ruin a shift.
Big Shot: I think there is a solid argument to be made that Big Shots should be higher than Stingers as they require far more effort to take out and have extremely potent large-scale area denial, but I'm putting them below Stingers because you can entirely avoid a Big Shot by just not being near the basket. Big Shots do not adjust their aim or actively target players, making them no threat at all once you're out of their line of fire. They're very close, though, and together with Stingers and Flyfish are the top priority targets. If any combination of multiple of these spawn in rapid succession then it's a very good idea to pop Specials to take them out as quickly as possible.
After them, there's a gap in the list, and that's because I genuinely think there the difference in threat level between the top three are big enough to warrant it.
Drizzler: A subset of people strongly believe that Drizzlers are the secret MVP of the Boss Salmonids, more dangerous than even Flyfish, and while I can't say I agree, Drizzlers are not to be underestimated. They put out long-lasting area denial and chip damage that can rack up fast and prevent healing while being quite tanky unless you manage to get an angle at which you can reflect their torpedos back at them. That said, I think a big mistake a lot of players commit is not going out of their way to shoot down the torpedos even if they can't be fired back at the Drizzlers, as I think doing so completely nullifies them.
Fish Stick: Fish Sticks on their own are almost nonentities, but that's because rather than being problems, Fish Sticks are amplifiers, making other problems far worse. When a Fish Stick sets up shop they completely shut down the space around them until they are killed, giving players far fewer options when dealing with more dangerous Bosses. Fish Sticks are easy to take out on their own, and therefore they should be dealt with as quickly as possible before they exacerbate a bad situation into a downright terrible one.
Slammin' Lid: It's tempting to leave Slammin' Lids alone to potentially use them as traps against other bosses, but unless a target is in the near vicinity then that's not worth it. Slammin' Lids spawn more lessers, cut off parts of the stage, and can even protect other bosses if they end up in spots where you can't trick them into slamming down on their comrades. Deal with them as soon as there's nothing more important around to use them against.
Steelheads: Large explosives and limited vulnerability make Steelheads very imposing foes, but they are very limited in range and mobility. If they are in the way, splat them on the spot, but if you can, drag them as close to the basket as possible before taking them out.
Steel Eels: Usually, being a melee-only foe puts you on the bottom-most rung of the Salmon Run ladder, but Steel Eel have an additional thing going for them: they are long. They take up a ton of space, serving as living walls that can trap your team and shields its friends. That said, they are so vulnerable to anyone who can flank them that they still rank pretty low, but they have the potential to become huge problems and need to be dealt with as such.
Maws, Flipper-Floppers, and Scrappers: I am bunching all of these together as my opinion on them are largely the same. They can all be problems in their own right, but these three bosses are melee-only foes that are easy to control and fairly painless to take out. There are very few scenarios in which you need to actively worry about them, and you can almost always drag them to the basket risk-free.

Close Encounters of the Preferred Kind - (MCU/Justified Crossover)
Tumblr media
Part 2 in my wholly unintentional Two Snipers series.
Rating: PG-13
Fandom: Justified/The Avengers (MCU) Crossover (kinda)
Pairing: Clint Barton/Tim Gutterson
Word Count: 2066
Warnings: Fluff (kinda sorta, if you squint), canon level violence, aliens, cussing, a lot of cussing.
Summary: Set after the events of 'Bad Mistakes (I've Made A Few)', this is the second meeting of our fateful couple, with aliens invading, families meeting, and, of course, Tim's long-suffering boss, Chief Deputy Marshal Art Mullen. Life gets messy when worlds collide.
Author’s Notes: 100% did not intend to write a follow-up to BM, but these two don't really do things on my timeline or my schedule. Anyway, the idea of this made me laugh, this is what happens when you introduce your Boo to your people, and everybody had issues. Oh, and the mood board was all me, with picture credit going to their varying photographers.
Eastern Kentucky is not where one expects Armageddon to start, but there it is and there they are.
“What the fuck am I looking at, Art?” the sniper asked his superior officer as he stared unflinchingly down his rifle scope. When he’d gotten the call that all hell had broken loose in Noble’s Holler, Tim figured it was more methed up psychopaths who were unclear on the local mayor’s penchant for pig sticking. Purple creatures falling out of a hole in the sky with more tentacles than a jellyfish was not on his bingo card.
“I got no idea,” the older man answered, never once looking up from his binoculars, “but my suggestion is nothing but headshots.” He paused as he loaded his own rifle and stretched out on a bluff overlooking the mayhem next to Tim. To look at the Chief Deputy in his tie and button down shirt, he didn’t seem the type to get down on the ground and dirty, but most folks underestimated him to their peril. The man taught at Glynco and was a badass well before Tim got proficient with a slingshot, much less a rifle.  “Assuming that those are actually their heads.”
“Copy that.” There was nothing quite as satisfying as brass ejecting from the port and watching his target become iridescent green mist.
Alien invasions were not generally the purview of the United States Marshals Service,  but occasionally, needs must.
The giant millipedes had massive tentacles and leathery purple skin which was impervious to conventional small arms fire; the only thing that seemed to fell the murderous, marauding bastards was a shot through he presumed was the eye, a target approximate the size of a navel orange, or through the mouth, an open maw about the size of a peach. Luckily, the produce section had never been an issue for Tim.
He’d been shooting and reloading for the better part of an hour after the damn portal opened up, doing his best to defend Ellstin Limehouse’s normally quiet enclave as best he could. It was the least he could do, even if he didn’t exactly trust the guy. Their interpersonal issues had nothing to do with the welfare of the innocents being set upon by these nightmare fuel monstrosities.
Correction: “By comparison, my nightmares are a breeze.”
When the first creature fell without his intervention, Tim was startled enough to jerk back from the ledge and take his eyes off the scope, just in time to see the honest-to-God Captain America shield go flying past the end of his rifle, taking out a creature coming up on his flank that he’d missed before bouncing back to its owner with disturbing accuracy.
“I am entirely too old for this shit,” Art grumbled as he rolled away from the edge to reload his rifle with all the annoyance and irritation of a deluge of Friday afternoon paperwork.
“I will be goddamned,” Tim murmured reverently as his brain processed what was happening. Creatures began falling left, right, and center as a roaring overhead signaled the arrival of Iron Man while the roaring on the ground was the giant green menace known as the Hulk ripping through these things like they were made of tissue paper. But that wasn’t what held his interest.
There, big as life and dressed in form-fitting purple and black kevlar, was the luscious not-so-little secret he’d been keeping since his detail in DC. What should have been a routine job a couple months ago turned into a three-night-stand for the duration of the operation, and then some flirty texts back and forth and more than the occasional round of phone sex in the time intervening. None of that could have prepared him for seeing Clint in action up close and personal.
The armless black suit emphasized every unreasonably pretty inch of the man, from his ridiculous arms that wielded a bow as ably as he hefted his own rifle, shot after unerring shot bounding and leaping nimbly from cover to cover, down to the perfect cupcake ass that fit in his hands just so. Goddamn the man was so pretty he could be considered a potentially lethal distraction.
“You gonna watch or are you gonna shoot?” Raylan demanded from his right as he stretched out on the ground with a rifle to join the party. The cowboy had been late to the party since he and Rachel had been left to man the office in Lexington, but once gunplay became the order of the day, Tim knew it was only a matter of time before the man in the infamous tan hat showed up. That he was able to convince Rachel, their normally by-the-book and most level-headed colleague, to come out on an alien invasion spoke to the man’s ability to charm the devil himself out of his seat in Hell.
“Fuck you,” Tim snarled, but without any heat behind it as he took up his position again and began firing once more at the few remaining creatures on the ground below them.
From start to finish was just under three hours of sustained fire, and when Tim finally rose to his feet to survey the area, the story was told in the sea of expended brass cartridges and rivers of green blood running through the streets of the valley below. Black trucks were rolling in from both sides of the holler with SHIELD logos on them, signaling the cleanup crew.
“You know what time it is now, right?” Raylan asked with a devilish grin as he doffed his hat to shrug out of his ballistic vest. He’d stripped down to a form-fitting white t-shirt and looked more like he’d been called in from a day off than from a day at the office.
“What’s that?” Art demanded as the guys helped him to his feet, brushing an annoyed hand over the wrinkles and streaks of dirt that his wife Leslie would likely fuss over later. After she yelled at him about going out on an alien invasion not two months out of a stint at the heart hospital.
With a shiteating grin and the pop of a peppermint Altoid in his mouth, Raylan nodded toward the collection of superheroes at the edge of the fray, watching the cleanup proceedings begin and talking amongst themselves. “The interagency debrief, of course!” He was off before anyone had a chance to contradict him, leaving Tim, Rachel, and Art to chase after the cocksure cowboy.
“Can’t get him to even look at paperwork any other time,” Rachel grumbled as they slowly approached the other group.
“This ain’t paperwork,” Tim replied, though his eyes were on one thing and one thing only.
Like they had a mind of their own, his feet carried him right up until he was close enough to tap Clint on the shoulder. “How do, stranger.”
The pure joy on the man’s face when he turned around did funny, fizzy things to his insides that he was loath to examine, and were dangerously close to giddy. The man smelled like sweat and looked like heaven, and fuck if all he wanted to do was run his hands over those arms that had held him up against a wall more than once. As it was, he was standing closer than was strictly necessary and well beyond the bounds of ‘just friends reuniting’. The desire to wrap his arms around the man was damn difficult to quell.
“I wondered if I’d get to see you,” the archer replied with a shy smile and flushed cheeks. “I mean, I’d hoped,” he rambled on, “but then—” he gestured at the carnage behind him.
For a moment, it was like the world had winnowed down to just the two of them. “I get it. I’m glad you’re here now, though.”
“Me too.”
And then the moment was broken by the diminutive redhead standing next to them elbowing Clint in the ribs. “Who’s your friend, Barton?” She was equally clad in black, the kevlar skating over and highlighting every single curve and hollow, highlighting both the beauty and the danger that she embodied.
Rolling his eyes, Clint took half a step back to face her more fully. “Nat, this is Tim Gutterson of the Marshals.”
Her green eyes lit up as her lips curved into a mischievous smirk. “The hottie you told me about from a couple months ago in DC?”
The blond’s eyes widened comically as his face shifted from flushed to pale to tomato red with alarming speed. “Real subtle, Nat.”
If his face felt hot before, now it felt like the skin was melting off of him. The idea of Clint talking about him, to Black Widow of all people, combined with the adrenaline dump of the situation only added to the feeling of surreal dissociation. Feeling a bit cheeky, he grinned slyly as he looked Clint up and down. “Talking about me, Clint? My heart’s a-flutter with curiosity.”
“Deputy Gutterson, you gonna introduce your friends?” Art’s voice was a bucket of cold water down his back as he suddenly remembered both his location and his audience.
From Raylan’s grin, he knew he would never EVER live this down, no matter how many terrible situations the cowboy’s penchant for prohibited pussy landed them in, and Rachel? Well, she was the office master interrogator for a reason and he knew damn sure that he would be spilling everything he knew to her before they made it to the Lexington city limits.
“Chief Deputy Art Mullen, this is Clint Barton of the Avengers and …” he trailed off, uncertain how to introduce the Black Frickin’ Widow.
She stepped up and shook Art’s hand like a practiced politician. “Natasha Romanov. Lovely to meet you.”
The older man smiled and, while Tim couldn’t swear to it, appeared to blush like a schoolboy. “Likewise.”
Not to be outdone, Raylan smoothly inserted himself between them with his hand out and his 1000 megawatt gunslinger charm turned to ‘thermonuclear’. “Raylan Givens, Miss Romanov. Longtime admirer of your work.”
She giggled. The assassin actually fucking giggled and her nose wrinkled. “You can call me Natasha.”
Tumblr media
Art watched this scene, the four of them talking amongst themselves, with apocalyptic levels of horror dawning on his face. The sheer amount of paperwork Raylan and Tim, hell Raylan by himself most days, generate was enough to fell a small forest. These folks together were an environmental crime waiting to happen. The potential bodycount of a Raylan and Romanoff team-up was nothing short of an imminent violation of the Geneva Convention. “Oh absolutely fucking not.”
All four heads turned in his direction, Raylan’s mouth already open and ready to rock, but he was having none of the bullshit.
“You,” Art pointed to the cowboy, “get in the car.”
“Bu—”
“Nope,” he held up the finger of doom, the finger of ‘unpaid time off if he kept on,’ it 3was one they were all exceptionally familiar with. “Car. Now.” Turning to Tim, he softened a bit. “Say your goodbyes, we have paperwork.”
Tumblr media
Rather than argue, Tim merely nodded, cringing when he turned to face Clint. “Dad says I gotta go.”
Clint’s smirk was nothing short of wicked and it was suddenly a billion degrees around Tim. “I’ll be around tonight if you wanna meet up.”
“I’d like that just fine.” Anything else he wanted to say was cut off at a sound he rarely heard outside of the comforts of her mother’s house. A sound that stripped away the years and the edge to reveal a girl much more carefree. Deputy Marshal Rachel ‘I make suspects cry for funsies’ Brooks was standing off to the side and making googoo eyes at none other than the Brooklyn Boys. Captain Frickin America and the Winter Goddamn Soldier were flirting with his best friend and putting their numbers in her phone.
“See what you did?” Art demanded from behind him as he leaned against the closed passenger door of the sedan that sealed Raylan inside.
“Me?” Tim demanded in affront. “How is this my fault?”
Art’s face was a mask of vaguely amused sarcasm. “You’re a bad influence.”
“Well, now that’s just hurtful. Besides,” he threw his rifle bag in the trunk before slinking into the back seat on the driver’s side and meeting his friend’s eyes in the rearview mirror, “I thought that was Raylan.”

Describing Chiba's personality like he's a main character on a well-written wikia page
Because way too many people mischaracterized him for my liking and enough is ENOUGH!
Note: I am ignoring the anime adaptation because the changes they made completely ruined Chiba's character.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chiba generally appears to be a calm and serious boy whose maturity and professionalism for his age was always noted by others during missions. He always gets the job done with little to no complaints, simply allowing his results to speak for his high skills. Along with his fellow sniper Hayami, Chiba tends to be compared to a working adult.
But outside of assassination, Chiba is surprisingly fairly social and bubbly, often seen wearing a wide smile on his face and is rarely alone. He seems to enjoy the company of others and is always present whenever his classmates gather to do an activity together. Because no one can see his expression with the way his hair covers his eyes, Chiba becomes frequently misunderstood by strangers, but his close classmates described him to be a very gentle and soft-hearted person.
Chiba is very tolerant and tends to be a little bit of a people pleaser, always putting other people’s feelings over his own even at the risk of possibly wearing himself out. The reason why he hides his eyes is to accommodate his peers when he was younger since his intense gaze made him appear to be always on guard. Similarly, he dislikes letting others down. It’s why he never complains when his classmates began putting their faith in his skills when he was assigned the most important role in the Island Assassination attempt. He fears that letting his concerns be known before the attempt was made might shake his classmates’ confidence and he doesn’t want that. Hence, he swallowed his feelings and continued on with the job. Later, Chiba outwardly admits that he felt so pressured by the amount of faith his classmates had in him that it inevitably affected his usually near-perfect performance.
Chiba is notably keen on logic and prefers to only rely on solid facts when taking in information. He is a realist who lives in the present, using his five senses to quietly observe the world around him, thus noticing details that most people tend to miss. After the announcement of their final exam results when he noticed the dejected Karma despite the nonchalant front, he knew exactly what to do to cheer him up. Another example was when he decided to check on Kurahashi who was feeling down after Takaoka began taking over their PE classes, aware of her interest towards Karasuma.
His spatial awareness was what makes his sniping accuracy be of high level, easily being able to determine the distance between point A and point B while taking account of outside factors such as wind direction and trajectory of the bullet. In the Korosuu novel, he even shows his disinterest towards Hayami’s suggestion of using his “intuition” to shoot because it clashes with his extremely calculated sniping method.
Although he never brags about it, Chiba is rightfully proud of his skills and despises it when his abilities gets undermined and ridiculed to the point that he becomes very petty about it. When the Legendary Sniper called him a hindrance after giving him a warning shot in chapter 5 of the Korosuu novel, Chiba meticulously instructed Hayami to shoot back at the sniper out of pure spite.
His learned tendency to swallow his concerns when in the middle of a job makes other people mistake him for someone who always hides what he feels. But the surprising truth is that Chiba finds it easy to be completely transparent about his feelings, especially with how self-aware he actually was. Right after the Island assassination attempt was deemed a failure, Chiba wasted no time asking Ritsu to confirm what he had observed during the assassination attempt. He did not hesitate to express the pride and confidence he always has in his skills from how extremely well he typically does in rehearsals and practice sessions, as well as the growing pressure he felt from not wanting to let others down finally dawning on him the second he was about to pull the trigger.
By the time he returned to the hotel, Chiba was able to navigate through his feelings and let them out in the open for Ritsu and the others nearby to hear. Throughout the entire infiltration, Chiba did not once think back to his prior failure, more concerned with what is currently happening around him, like Korosensei entrusting him and Hayami to use real guns, which he finds to be an absurd thing for a teacher to do. Chiba’s method of instantly facing his feelings after the concerned matter is done with is what allows him to move forward without regrets.
Ever since the pep talk Korosensei gave to them, Chiba slowly began to voice out his concerns and share the details he had observed more often. It later turns out that he deeply respects Hazama because the ease she has to string her words together outloud with hardly any care about what others may think was something he couldn't replicate himself.
In Korotan B, Chiba noticed the direction of the conversation he and Puey were having and thus tried his luck to ask about the boy’s backstory while he was still being talkative. When the class became divided in whether they wanted to continue the assassination or not after learning the truth about Korosensei, Chiba volunteered to be the first to pick his side with no hesitation, which was the Kill Team. He expressed that he had long decided on what he wanted to do and will go through with it.
A rather hidden side of him was that he is an adrenaline junkie who gets very excited at the notion of doing something fear-inducing and borderline dangerous, like going to space or riding intense amusement park rides. He has a liking towards intense things in general, given his love for hardcore punk and metal bands.

Original owl Digimon
Another digifake post with an evolution line. For previous posts see Aztec, Moth, and Crab. All members of this line are data-attribute.
At the Rookie/Child level is Hootmon. It is a shy and solitary Digimon that lives in the deep forest and prefers to avoid danger. It has a scholarly mindset and carries great knowledge of the woodlands, which it will share with those who can track it down. As with many other bird Digimon of this level, it is a poor flyer. Its attacks are Scratch Flap, where it attack with the claws on its wings, and Hooting Song, where it sings a song that induced drowsiness.
Tumblr media
I like how dapper Hootmon is. I based it on the burrowing owl and tried to give it the marking of the owl, but couldn't make it look good with my limited skills. These are more concept art than finished designs and I do want to comi$sion a better artist some day.
Hootmon evolves to Scoutmon. Scoutmon is a master of stealth that can move unseen and unheard through the forest. The crossbow it carries can unleash a variety of trick bolts with unique effects, but it cannot aim while flying as its hands are on its wings. Thus it is a good sniper, but fares poorly in close combat. Its moves are Sniping Shot, where it carefully lines up a shot at a vulnerable target from a distance, and Trick Shot, where it shoots off one of its trick bolts for a variety of effects.
Tumblr media
Scoutmon evolves into Strixmon. Strixmon is a master of stealth and infiltration that can dispatch its enemies before they realize it is present. Because of this, it is viewed as an ill omen for you may never know if a Strixmon is lining up a shot at you. Strixmon can see in perfect darkness and move without making a sound. The rifle it carries fires armor-piercing rounds that can hit a target with pinpoint accuracy from miles away. While more skilled at close combat than Scoutmon, it still prefers ranged combat. Its moves are Sniping Shot, where it fires its rifle at the target's weak spot, and Strix CQC, where it strikes at close-range enemies with its combat knife, claws, and beak.
Tumblr media
Strixmon's name comes from the Greek word for Owl, but is also a mythical bat-owl creature that is an omen of bad luck. If I do a redesign of this line, I may play more into the mythological aspects of the strix.
The Mega/Ultimate level form of Hootmon is Shalimon. Shalimon was upgraded into a cyborg to become the Digital World's ultimate master of stealth and assassination. Its weapons are the twin "Shahar" plasma cannons, which are accurate enough to hit a grain of sand from a hundred miles away. Shalimon has a built-in cloaking device that lets it become invisible and it can fly to the edge of the Digital World's atmosphere to shoot targets on the ground, who will be deleted with no idea they were even being targeted. Shalimon can retract its arms and legs into its body and transform into the shape of a stealth plane to move at high speeds and engage in dogfights. Its moves are Shahar Snipe, where it fires its "Shahar" plasma cannons at its foes, and Owl Obliteration, where it engages in close combat with its razor-sharp wings and built-in grenade laucher.
Tumblr media
Shalimon is one of a group of Digimon I've designed that are all part of three trios: Vaccine, Virus, and Data; day, night, and twilight; and warrior, mage, and rogue. All three have the namesakes of gods from different cultures. The other two are in previous posts and are Huitzimon (Virus, day, warrior) and Nyxmon (Vacccine, night, mage). Shalimon fills the role of Data, twilight, and rogue. Its name comes from Shalim, the Ugaritic god of dusk. Shalim had a counterpart god named Shahar who was the god of dawn and became the namesake of Shalimon's weapons. Shalimon being split between black and white is supposed to represent it being between day and night. I brought a few trends into this evolution line. The different members get more advanced weapons, going from claws to a crossbow to a sniper rifle, to a cyborg with plasma cannons. All members also have some form of eyewear until Shalimon gets robot eyes.

Hey haven't been on tumblr lately and don't know if you're still talking trigger prompts but I have one that has been rotating in my mind!
Guy prides himself on being resilient, adaptable, etc. Way into EDC stuff, takes a bunch of first aid courses, puts down "keeps a cool head in a crisis" when job apps ask for personal strengths.
But when disaster actually strikes (cape fight rolls across the highway he's on and causes a nasty pileup) he freezes. Can't think, can't act, forgets all his first aid and crisis management. The situation resolves and he goes home, everything playing back over and over in his head.
After a couple days of preoccupation and stress, he concludes (with the same degree of confidence as before, no comment on the accuracy) that what he was interpreting as resilience in personal crises was really just relief in the aftermath- he feels safe once there's nothing left to be done, no chance for him to fuck up and do something wrong. Trigger.
I don't know if you guys are sending me more changer triggers or if I'm predisposed to changer powers, but they're fun anyway.
He changes inside, his skin splits, and something weaker and more vulnerable slithers out. It's eel-like and fast, and it's covered in eyes, many of them taking in things humans wouldn't be able to see, including looking into other dimensions and similar. "This contains toxic chemicals", "this sniper is an extremely good shot and this one isn't as good", "this is edible", "this person is immune to my friend's blaster power", "from the magnetic fields, home is that way", etc.
The eel form is difficult to spot, but mainly due to it's small size and transparency.
He becomes reconnaissance, infiltrating and squeezing his way into enemy bases through plumbing and cracks in walls. He spies on enemies while in their walls, learning about their relationships, capabilities, weakness, and getting imperfect glimpses into computer memories.
The form is adjustable, with the changer able to pick and choose different capabilities freely when hatching ("we need to read their databases, i need eyes to read hard drives", "their base is hermetically sealed, i need something that can get in", "i need as much durability and robustness as my power can achieve"), and able to make smaller, reactive adjustments while in eel form.
Returning to allies, he slowly reforms his human body, and delivers the information he learnt, equipping other people to be the heroes, the capable survivors. On a level he doesn't mind too much. He knows well that in both his forms, he'd be useless in a crisis.

gun rant: long
i remember i came across this one "gun article" clearly written by somebody who knew very little about guns but was being paid to write about them and had access to google, i believe it was about the AK-100 series of rifles. they noted that russia had been selling a country (i forget which but it might've been india) a fair amount of AK-103s, and the writer made a comment that stuck with me. it was something to the effect of "this country currently has firearms in 7.62x51mm NATO as standard, but for a reason i can't seem to understand they're transitioning into the significantly less powerful 7.62x39mm?" now, i'd prefer not to belittle this person for just like, not knowing their shit in regards to guns since it is a pretty complex topic with a lot of nuance and contradictions, so here's why a military would go for a less powerful cartridge:
with a lot of things, "good enough" isn't enough. obviously this depends on a lot of factors, but if you told someone that the meal they cooked you was "good enough" there's a good chance they'd take it as something of an insult, y'know? in terms of power in guns, there's absolutely a threshold where "good enough" is absolutely enough. if you need a living thing to not be alive anymore, even if one cartridge does more damage than another, for specific tasks and purposes there's a point where enough damage is enough damage, since they're either dead or they're not. regretfully, we've yet to find a way to kill things even more dead than they already are, so for now making something dead is more or less a binary of "is it dead? then it's good enough". this is why the firearms world made the switch from only using full powered rifle cartridges to predominantly using intermediately powered rifle cartridges.
so, a little lesson in terminology followed by a little history lesson: there are certain, let's call them "ballparks" of a cartridge's power level, usually correlated with overall size. the most common ones i've heard used are "pistol cartridge", "full powered rifle cartridge", and "intermediate rifle cartridge". personally, i'm of the opinion that you could elaborate on that (there's a pretty significant difference in pistol cartridges designed for pocket guns as opposed to service handguns to magnums, just as there's a significant difference in short action full powereds and magnums, but i digress). but to put it in laymans terms, a pistol cartridge is just what a pistol would most likely use, a full powered rifle cartridge is for whole ass big rifles (if you want a very layman idea of it think sniper rifles), and intermediate guys are what bridge the gap between them. we saw widespread adoption of intermediate rifle cartridges starting with the AK-47 (and really moreso the AKM in 1959), and really took off with the NATO adoption of 5.56mm in the 60s and 70s. now, you may be thinking, "if it's just straight up weaker than the stuff that came before, why change it?" and there are a few reasons for that!
first of all, there's the matter of logistics. rifles in intermediate caliber (typically called assault rifles in military parlance) cost less materials to produce, as does the ammunition for them, they provide lower recoil relative to full powered rifle cartridges and therefore allow for better accuracy in full auto, they're smaller and lighter and therefore more maneuverable in tight spaces and have higher ammunition capacity in comparable designs (typical AR-15 and AK magazines both have 30 rounds standard, the comparable AR-10 and all other battle rifles of the era i'm aware of had 20 rounders). and all in all, remember what i said about "enough being good enough"? intermediate rifle cartridges are designed to propel a round at juuust the right velocity and weight that they still achieve an impressive wounding capability (at least relative to pistol rounds), with the main disadvantages relative to full powered rounds being a shortened effective range and worse armor penetrating capabilities. which, respectively don't really matter that much because we've known since ww2 that most actually effective combat has happened out to ranges maxing out at about 300 meters/yards (coincidentally what's considered the maximum effective range of every mainstream intermediate guy i'm aware of) and worse barrier penetration, particularly armor penetration (doesn't really matter because basically no military who focuses on armor focuses on armor for individuals, since armored vehicles are just way more impactful to focus on as far as i'm aware. also, to a certain extent armor penetration is a matter of bullet construction, and it's well documented that if properly designed around it an intermediate gamer is perfectly fine for it, particularly 7.62x39mm).
all of this is to say, of course there are deficiencies in intermediate rounds. hence why we haven't fully abandoned full powered rounds, we still have general purpose machineguns like the M240 (7.62x51mm) and the PKM (7.62x54mmR) and sniper rifles in even higher powered rounds like the AWM in .338 Lapua Mag (8.58x70mm), not to mention how we still have SMGs and PDWs in calibers like 9x19mm parabellum and 5.7x28mm. it's just that things like that tend to work best as a supplement rather than as the Core Fighting Rifle kinda deal, y'know? so yeah like, there's definitely a lot of reasons as to why you'd start transitioning away from a full powered gamer to an intermediate one, despite how the US is teasing wanting to switch back to a full powered one (which is a whole other can of worms, and i feel like that might be getting quietly shelved, but who knows. shit like this takes forever anyways, and it's not like the US military's needs as an entity are remotely comparable to my needs as Some Guy)

HEILIGTUM, Lucifer's signature primary weapon.
A unique incarnon sniper rifle, Heiligtum boasts hitscan projectiles and extremely high accuracy while looking down its scope, along with very high per-shot damage all offset by recoil that kicks like a mule, slow firing speed, small magazine, and laughable accuracy when fired from the hip. Heiligtum's scope has two magnification levels which can be swapped between by pressing the alt-fire button while looking down the sights. Pressing the alt-fire button while not looking down sights will transform this weapon into its incarnon mode. The scope's default magnification level is 3x which includes a +30% bonus to headshot damage and its second magnification level is 5x which includes a +40% bonus to headshot damage. Headshots in normal mode build this weapon's incarnon meter which is consumed when firing in incarnon mode. Both modes use a semi-auto trigger. Normal mode shots deal mostly puncture, moderate impact, and low slash damage. Incarnon mode fires a one-meter wide beam with infinite punch-through which also triggers explosions with a 2 meter radius anywhere that the beam hits an enemy, object, or terrain. Both incarnon mode's beam and explosions deal pure radiation damage. Heiligtum has slightly above average crit and status, with 25% critical and status chance and a 2.5x critical multiplier.
EVOLUTION 1: Score 100 headshot kills with this weapon. Perk: Unlocks Incarnon mode.
EVOLUTION 2: Activate this weapon's Incarnon mode six times in missions. Perk 1: ALL-SEEING EYE: Adds a third scope level which increases magnification by 7x and headshot damage by 50%. Perk 2: GYROSCOPIC STABILIZER: Drastically reduces recoil and increases hipfire accuracy. Perk 3: BOLT ACTION: Reduces magazine size to 1 but greatly increases reload speed.
EVOLUTION 3: Score 50 multikills with this weapon's incarnon mode. Perk 1: POWER OVERWHELMING: Increases critical and status chance by +15% Perk 2: BLAST SHIELD: While looking down the scope this weapon generates an energy shield with a 1 meter radius in front of the user which deflects enemy attacks. Perk 3: TRICK SHOT: +100% damage while sliding or aim-gliding.
EVOLUTION 4: Kill a void angel with only this weapon equipped. Perk 1: BANE: Increases the effects of Bane mods on this weapon by +0.45x (reduced to +0.3x for Primed Bane mods). Perk 2: SYNERGY: Set Mods contribute double set bonus when equipped on this weapon. Cannot exceed maximum set bonus level. Perk 3: GORY SPECTACLE: Headshot kills cause enemies within 10 meters of the victim to become terrified.
EVOLUTION 5: Reach rank 30 and apply a forma to this weapon. Perk 1: QUANTUM EXPLOITATION: Incarnon mode gains +100% status chance and changes its damage type to match enemy weaknesses. Perk 2: HYPER BEAM: Incarnon mode beam width and blast radius are doubled, blast damage is increased by 50%. Perk 3: NO-SCOPE: Unscoped normal mode shots have a 50% chance to deal 1000% damage. Unscoped incarnon mode shots have +25% critical and status chance.

Team: CA San Juan (Argentina League)
Height / Weight: 185.5cm / 82.4kg
Position: setter
Current Concern: Being mistaken for a minor.
Note from Sensei: At the beginning when I drew him, I thought, “Since the manga is plain so far, let’s have a gorgeous character emerge.” But in reality he’s the most unrefined guy.
Nuts & Bolts: Serve 10/10 – Serve Reception 8/10 – Digging 7/10 – Setting 10/10 – Spike 7/10 – Block 8/10
Jersey Number: 17
Tumblr media
Ability
Setups tailored to match his teammates’ strengths!
The captain who has a thorough understanding of Aoba Johsai as a team. As a setter, he has the talent to analyze each players’ strengths and draw out 100% of their power. He leads his team by continuing to improve his sense of precise tosses for all kinds of players, constantly thinking about how to best utilize each spiker and their differing quirks, and in-game flexibility.
A jump serve with the same power as a spike
With a destructive power and a sniper-like nature, it is a weapon born of demon mentality that persistently attacks right on the line even at match point.
Insightfulness that can detect his opponents’ weak points
With only a small amount of information during play, he is able to observe the opposing team’s mental weaknesses, as well as the relationships between players. He will aim for and tear at any open seam that makes itself known.
Tumblr media
Mentality
A hard worker with charisma
Oikawa, who harbors an inferiority complex to Kageyama, has actually been on equal footing since junior high in terms of the amount of effort put into the sport. Not to drown in his own abilities, he seeks his own growth as a setter and as a captain. He shows his strength by getting results (consistently leading his team to victory) and not by displaying innate talent.
Tumblr media
Caption: The words that Oikawa must always say before any match. Since his teammates also believe in him with all their might, the atmosphere about the team shifts in an instant. [literally “the air tightens”]
Tumblr media
Influences (those who influenced him)
Kageyama Tobio: the kouhai with genius-level volleyball instincts
Oikawa is painfully aware of Kageyama, who possesses a natural talent and occupies the same position on the court. Henceforth, this kouhai has become a rival to whom Oikawa definitely doesn’t want to lose.
Jose Blanco: the impetus to take his volleyball overseas
From a young age, Blanco was Oikawa’s inspiration, the big star player whom he looked up to. When he was worried about starting to feel his limits, he received advice from Blanco himself, and thereafter made the decision to continue pursuing volleyball.
Tumblr media
Memorable Scenes Timeline
2009: Two geniuses emerge in the same generation!
Oikawa is blessed with good physique and instinct, and his progress in junior high far surpassed his peers. However, Ushijima’s mere existence was always an insurmountable wall, and on top of that Kageyama joined his team. Oikawa began struggling by himself, feeling sandwiched between these two geniuses, but Iwaizumi’s words brought him back to his senses.
“All of a sudden, I feel like I’m invincible.” (Chapter 60)
“This time, we’ll beat Shiratorizawa into the ground for real…!!” (Chapter 60)
2012: After building up loads of hard work and volleyball instinct, he has become a top player in the prefecture!
During the Interhigh qualifying match against Karasuno, it was a total shutout of the “freak quick” once Oikawa was able to read the signals. Showing his difference in ability as a setter, he was able to drag Kageyama down and lead his own team to victory. After this, he further refined his serve and was able to score consecutive points in Spring Tournament qualifying matches. His coordination with Iwaizumi, together with his ability to use Kyoutani’s skillsets produced an explosive attack power.
“The ‘perennial champions,’ the ‘dark horse,’ we’ll devour them all. The ones going to Nationals this year is us.” (Chapter 47)
“Those fangs are sharp, but I’ll make them even sharper yet.” (Chapter 132)
“Talent is something you let bloom, but instincts, you polish!!!” (Chapter 146)
Tumblr media
“My volleyball isn’t over. None of it is over. And this worthless pride? You should do well to remember it.” (above, Chapter 148) [some things I loved about seeing this quote written—first, those dots mean emphasis / enunciation on “worthless” and second, he actually doesn’t say “never forget,” he says something like “remember this exactly as it is now,” as in commit this now to your memory, keep remembering, for it is constant and I hope it haunts you]
2017: Studying under Jose Blanco and challenging the Argentina League!
After graduation, Oikawa went overseas to ask Jose Blanco to take him under his wing, and thereupon joined CA San Juan of the Argentina League. On a tour to Brazil, he was reunited with Hinata and played beach, which helped to motivate him once again. In 2021, after his Argentinian naturalization, he will appear as a representative player in the Olympics. There, he can prove his own true worth to those such as Hinata, his past partner Iwaizumi, and many former rivals. [🥲]
“Volleyball is fun. Every time I forget, it comes back to remind me.” (Chapter 373)
“I’m going to beat everyone. Be ready!” (Chapter 374)

What is everyone's gear loadout in Oracle? <333
Sorry for the late reply, hon.
Four examples but each person has a team they fall under and depending on what the team specializes in is what they'll mostly use as well as comfort levels. There's the usual that everyone carries which is a uniform (unless they're going in more "casual" or in "civvies"), pads, vests, appropriate footwear, communication devices, gadgets depend on the assignment and so on.
Loke: he can use any weapon. Any. He's stupid levels of good with them, scary levels of fast and accurate. He's the counter-sniper and can snipe (bolt action being his preference) as well but that's a role that's more specialized and doesn't often come up. He's the second best sniper in all of Oracle but this role comes up only when Trevor isn't available. Most of the time tho, you'll see him with ARs. His favorites are the AKs, that AR plus him being a combat medic means he has a lot more equipment on him for treating both non-humans and humans. He'll also carry a wide range of blades. He prefers flashbangs to smoke grenades. Aside from all of that he can conjure a two-headed axe as well as a bow with unlimited arrows that he can enchant.
Jelani: Jelani's all about ARs and has a soft spot for carbines. His favorite AR is the HK G36. He carries a backup Smith and Wesson M&P 2.0. I think those come with a metal frame as well but he prefers polymer. Yeah, there's the issue with the recoil but he knows what he's doing and can control that. Not a fan of any type of grenade but if needed will use them. He can also conjure a weapon but unlike berserkers he can change the shape of it despite his age and most of the time it's a type of glaive or a saex. But because dampeners are a thing he'll have backup knives. On super rare occasions he'll use a sniper though he isn't a fan.
Trevor: he's the resident sniper, in fact, he taught Loke all he knows. The best sniper Oracle has and proud owner of the world's longest confirmed kill to date (every time that record is broken irl I up Trevor's record lmao). He's often seen with the Accuracy International AXSR (bolt action, always has to be bolt action). As a backup he has a Glock that he's customized completely. As a werewolf he has use of his claws and fangs for flankers. Likes to pack smoke grenades.
Angelus: he likes rushing down targets and does a lot of flanking and in situations where either Loke or Trevor are sniping he likes to keep close around them to keep them safe from flankers and rushers. Given that he likes to move around a lot he prefers a lighter loadout. Sub-machine guns and PDWs for him. MP4, MP5SD, MP7, and so on. His very favorites though are the FN P90 and the Kriss Vector CRB. He carries arcane weapons such as an infamous blade he uses to buff his arcane abilities and his own offensive arcane abilities as well. Just like Trevor he's a werewolf and can rely on claws and fangs.

The Bet at 79s (Fives x Reader prequel to A Sniper's Competition)
Tumblr media
Summery:
On a night out at 79s, Reader and Fives make a bet while playing drunken darts. What exactly is Fives going to have to do when he loses?
Author's Note:
Ok, this was really fun to write and the exact happy request I needed today. Thank you so much @staycalmandhugaclone for requesting this! I did have to change the idea a little bit because I didn't think they would have access to copies of physical photos. Hope you enjoy it!
To anyone who isn't aware, Fives and Reader were together before he died in my story A Sniper's Competition, which is a Crosshair x Reader fic. These oneshots and drabbles serve as mini prequel stories for that series. Please let me know if you have any other requests for Fives (or Cody if you want another one of those)!

Tumblr media
Drunk Fives was a special man. The usually happy go lucky guy was doubly so when he drank and the icing on the cake was his tendency to not think things through while he was inebriated.
For example, when I, his girlfriend who was a professional sniper, challenged him to a game of darts, he agreed immediately. Even better, he had let me make it into a bet. Poor guy never stood a chance.
Even in my tipsy state, my accuracy was far superior to his. He may be an ARC trooper but this was literally my job and what I’d trained my whole life for. I also was not above cheating a little bit by using my minor control of the force to help get the darts where they needed to go.
“So, mesh’la,” Fives said with a bit of a slur. “Guess what you have to do if I win.”
“What will I have to do, Fives?” I asked as I approached with darts in both hands. I handed him a set, the one that was slightly heavier and unbalanced.
Fives leaned in, his arm wrapping around my waist.
“That thing you do with your tongue that I love so much,” he said lowly. I think he thought he was whispering, but thankfully 79s was loud enough that it didn’t matter. I chuckled at his words, knowing I’d probably be doing exactly what he was asking for anyway even after I won.
He pulled away with a smacking kiss to my cheek and his smile was absolutely infectious.
“What do you want if you win?” He asked me. “Even though you don’t stand a chance”
I seductively leant towards him, eyes darting between his eyes and grinning lips.
“You’ll just have to wait and find out.”
Twenty minutes later, he was about to get his answer. The level at which I was pummeling him was ridiculous. Groups of clones had gathered around to watch and throw joking insults at Fives. None of them dared be serious though. They knew he didn’t stand a chance against me and that if they said anything seriously insulting, then they may find themselves with a dart hurtling towards their face. It only took one time for that to never happen again.
With a victorious cheer, I watched my last dart hit the bullseye dead center. Most would be upset over losing, but Fives wasn’t like most. He immediately ran over to me, wound his arms under my butt, and lifted me. I steadied myself by catching myself with my hands on his shoulders. He spun me around while many of the other onlooking soldiers toasted to me. The laugh that left me was one of absolute, unmitigated joy. Gripping both of his cheeks, I lowered my lips to his.
When he put me down, the intoxicated man asked what he had to do now that I’d won. My joyous grin turned wicked.
_______
“If I get caught the commander will kill me,” Fives muttered as he peered around the corner to check for incoming officers.
“Cody was still at 79s with Rex when we left. You’ll be fine. Besides, I wouldn’t let him kill you,” I answered, shoving him down the hallway. He stumbled a bit, alcohol still heavily lingering in his system.
“Of course he won’t kill you. He’s probably still dreaming about your ass,” Fives griped. One thing I adored about this man, he had never been jealous of my past relationships.
I keyed into Cody’s door, still having access to his quarters. When the door opened, I strolled right in and made my way to his desk where I knew his data pad would be sitting.
“The honor is all yours,” I told Fives as he took it from my hand. He mumbled under his breath as he tapped a few buttons on the screen.
“There,” he said with a laugh. “The background of Commander Cody’s datapad is now a lovely picture of General Kenobi.”
“And you signed your name?” I questioned as I took the datapad from him. He gestured for me to inspect it myself and I keeled over laughing when I saw the screen.
On it was an official picture of General Kenobi in his uniform, but written next to it was a note that said:
Here’s a picture of your boyfriend. You’re welcome.
Love, Fives
Carefully, I returned Cody’s datapad to where it had been sitting before we broke into his room.
“Now,” I said to Fives as I went to leave. “Onto Rex’s room!”
_______
We were in the middle of switching Rex’s background to a picture of Anakin when I heard the access panel from the hallway beep.
“He’s coming!” I hissed. I looked to the door, ready to make an excuse, but as it whooshed open, I was shoved onto Rex’s bed.
“Every man for themselves!” Fives yelled before sprinting past Rex and out of the room. I sputtered from my sprawled position on the bed, left alone to fend for myself.
“So, Rexxie,” I said with a sheepish grin. “How was your night?”
_______
After I had told Rex what I had dared Fives to do, he had laughed it off and let me leave with a hug and a promise to record Cody beating up Fives tomorrow.
Seeing as we were on leave, I made my way to Fives’ quarters instead of my own. I expected to find him there, but when the door whooshed open, he was nowhere to be found. I checked the connecting refresher, but he wasn’t there either. Maybe Cody had seen him running like a madman through the halls and detained him. I shrugged it off, knowing he’d make his way back eventually, and got ready for bed, throwing on one of Fives’ few non-regulation shirts.
I cuddled into the bed and was almost asleep when the door to the room opened. All I heard was giggling. I rolled over to face him, and saw Fives giddy as a child standing there.
“What did you do?” I questioned with narrowed eyes.
“Nothing,” He answered with faux indignation and the worst salute I’d ever seen. “I am an ARC Trooper. An exemplary soldier who abides by all of the rules and regulations of the GAR.”
He was giggling again by the end of the sentence. I groaned, knowing that I’d eventually find out what mischief he’d been up to. Hopefully, it wouldn’t get me court martialed.
I threw the covers next to me to the side and patted the bed.
“Get your kit off and get your shebs in here,” I ordered. “I’m still going to do that thing with my tongue that you like.”
_______
I was woken by the sound of heavy, incessant knocking on the door. Fives groaned and rolled over, burying his head against my neck to block out the sound.
“Go away,” he groaned. It didn’t take the force to know the man was heavily hung over.
“You’re lucky I love you,” I muttered as I climbed over him and out of the bed. I stumbled to the door and hit the button to open it. It took a moment for my eyes to adjust, but when they did, they widened.
“What can I do for you this morning, Generals?” I asked, crossing my arms and leaning against the doorway.
Obi-wan looked down and glanced my bare legs before averting his eyes, while Anakin just smirked at me.
“We’re here to see your boyfriend,” Anakin said.
“I’m going to need to know why,” I returned. At my comment, Obi-wan looked like he was about to pull rank so I held up my hand to stop him and added;
“I need to know so I’m ready if I need to get my ass out of here and leave him to his own fate.”
Obi-wan finally cracked a smile and the two Jedi shared a look. With a sigh, the older jedi pulled a datapad from his robes and handed it to me. Dread washed over me as I began to guess where Fives had gone last night. My suspicions were confirmed when I looked at the screen and saw a picture of Commander Cody’s helmeted head edited onto a nearly naked body of a very buff man. There was a typed note next to it that said:
Here’s some eye candy for you, General!
 Love, Fives
“I’m guessing the same thing is on your datapad, but with Rex’s bucket instead of Cody’s?” I asked Anakin sheepishly.
“That’s exactly what it is,” He confirmed.
“Let me go put on some pants and then you can kill him,” I grumbled, turning to go back into the room, but paused when I saw another approaching figure.
“Can someone please tell me why there's a picture of Wolffe on my datapad,” Master Plo Koon questioned. “And why it says ‘World's best dad?’”

The Gunslinger
Y'all ready to get rootin', tootin' and shootin'? Today I'm releasing an update for my Gunslinger class.
Do you want to use firearms, pull off daring tricks, and generally be a cool-ass cowboy/cowgirl/cow-person then do I have the class for you.
Now grab your gun and lets get going.
Tumblr media
In this post, ill give an overview of the class and its Creeds (subclasses). For those who've seen it before it changes how most of the Creeds function and the general firearm rules.
Basics
The gunslinger is a martial class that primarily uses Dexterity and Charisma, to pull off feats of gunslinging prowess known as tricks.
If you've played dnd 5e for more than 10 minutes you'll probably have heard of the Battle Master fighter and its manoeuvres. The gunslinger uses a similar system for its tricks. Rolling trick dice to perform "Tricks" such as; improved accuracy, retaliation, locking down areas, and more. As you gain levels you gain access to more tricks and be able to perform them more frequently.
You'll gain other "Expert" (if we use One DnD's language) style features such as expertise, evasion, and an improved ability to perform opportunity attacks.
Now that we've covered the class's bones, let's get down to the shining stars that differentiate one 'slinger from another, their Creeds.
Arcane Rancher
Guns are cool, but what if you also had magic? Well, the arcane ranger is that. It has roots in the Arcane Archer archetype, allowing you to "cast" arcane tricks tied to schools of magic. They are also adept at curving bullets.
Tumblr media
Defender
Being a gunslinger is not always about hurting people. Sometimes it's about protecting others - usually, your self-made family. These armour-clad troopers specialise in returning fire from defendable positions.
Divine Duelist
I'm a be real with y'all for a second. I've always loved nuns with guns, as a trope, so that's what birthed the divine duelist. Think of it as a divine version of the arcane rancher, but instead of tricks it gives out treats based on divine domains (though many will still trick your foes).
Tumblr media
Outlaw
Want to get down and dirty, firing with reckless abandon? You might be an outlaw. They can fight in the thick of it as well as any swordsman, and use their tricks to defend themselves.
Pistoleer
What's better than one gun? Yes, two guns! Pisotleers fulfil a very popular and specific fantasy. The twin pistol-wielding, cartwheeling, untouchable gunman, often seen in action movies.
Tumblr media
Righteous Rider
Let's take a step back. What is a cowboy without their steed? Just a goon with a gun. These riders summon magical steeds and use whips of light to lasso their foes.
Saber
Wama fight with a cutlass in one hand and a pistol in the other? The pirate dream can be yours if you take up the Saber's creed. Mix gunslinging tricks and fighter manoeuvres in this daring melee marksman.
Tumblr media
Sniper
Last but not least, is the steady head-popping sniper. What they lack in mobility they make up for in range and firepower.
