Breaking Dawn would have been so much better if the Loch Ness monster didn’t exist (obviously). So I was thinking about how SMeyer could have written it while still having a lot of the same plot beats. Instead of the whole Immortal Child™️ plot line, it would have been so cool if the Volturi were coming to collect the Cullens and their allies for their powers:
That’s the whole thing with the Volturi. To me they read very imperialist. They go around imposing themselves on small vampire communities and taking what is useful to them.
Edward is constantly mentioning how Aro has always wanted Ed and Alice to join them because of their talents. In New Moon, Aro also expresses interest in Bella’s possible talent. Therefore, once she turns, he would of course be poking around the PNW for Bells.
It could have been cool for Alice to have two visions. The first being the Volturi coming, with a lot of the Cullens friends in tow, seemingly unwilling to be there. In order to collect the powerful Cullens. The second being the Volturi coming, and the Cullens being with their friends fighting together.
Then the plot post vision could be about developing their vampire powers. Which opens the door to exploring established vampire lore throughout the series. That would be much more interesting, and tbh fun.
Also then it ties a better bow on how things end with the Volturi. Rather than them just being like damn okay see ya. Like no! All we’ve been told is that the Volturi don’t mess around and they are out for blood. Let them be evil!
Yeah Joel? It's weird to prank someone else by building a statue of yourself in their base? Yeah? Yeah it's really weird to build a giant statue of yourself in someone else's base yeah? Makes them obsessed with you yeah? Anyway Joel you should watch empires s1 and 2
I think it would be incredible (and most likely) that it was Shoko who taught Yuji RCT. It would also be funny given when she tried to explain the technique before to Suguru and Satoru in their teen years and apparently was bad at explaining it. Now imagine her explaining it to Yuji in the same way and unlike Suguru and Satoru, he's just like "Oh, so it's like this", just completely understanding her.
man, not to brag about my own show or anything, but while there are always things I would change about anything I make (and definitely PLENTY of things I could have done better as a writer/the showrunner of this show) Evan really fucking nailed the score for The AM Archives. it's just.....very fucking good.
not to sound insane or anything but there’s something sooo interesting to me about the parallel between Michael’s “I was running with a bunch of crazy motherfuckers with nothing to lose” and Trevor’s “I could feel like I was losing you, so I pushed you harder. I didn’t want to lose you” because it’s like. god. they are so disconnected in this area. and that specific disconnect means So Much
to michael, trevor was acting out and taking more risks because he didn’t understand what it meant to have something to care for. trevor doesn’t get what it’s like to have more than just your life at stake when you put it on the line
but to trevor, michael and their partnership was kinda the only “thing” he Could have lost. michael was slipping away, and what would he have then? brad? fuck brad. brad is a terrible replacement, in hindsight. trevor said he was planning to cut michael off, and maybe he would have, but not so soon. of course he desperately clings onto what they have. how could he not? their shared love of danger and risks and adrenaline brought them together in the first place, so surely it would bring them back. it had to or he’d have nothing left
and of course michael doesn’t get that. i mean why would he. he’s holding back for the sake of his family and suddenly his crew (trevor mostly) is trying to get them all killed. he thinks they just don’t get it and they probably never will. and in turn, trevor doesn’t think michael gets what it’s like to feel yourself slowly being deprived of someone who means absolutely everything to you
now don’t get me wrong, i don’t think michael “should” have understood what trevor was doing because that’s not really fair. he’s not psychic. i just think it’s sad. trevor was trying so hard to show michael what he was missing by “going soft” and leaving him behind, trying so hard not to lose him for good, that it sent the complete opposite message. Like, entirely opposite. that’s so sad
