I was being indulgent. I miss playing with these characters (i miss playing DnD in general soooo.) Lyca, the Tiefling Cleric, is brand new to adventuring and has ran into his first fellow adventurer, Frost (Drow bard), and is asking for some advice.
If you want more info on them, i’ll put a bit under the cut. Also, speedpaint link incoming.
edit: nm link is in the replies. I just posted the link to the wrong blog. twice.
Lyca is about 15-16. He’s a sweet boy who was raised by a house of nuns. His deity told him that he was chosen to adventure in her name so he left. He is very nieve about the world, only knowing what he read in books which leads him to seeming very young and chipper. Any time i’ve tried to play him, NPC or PC, other players try to adopt him. (my sister’s character succeeded, much to Lyca’s confusion.)
Frost is about 350. His younger years (before he was 100) were spent among family and other drow, learning music. Before he became of age (100-ish) he accidentally witnessed a murder and got caught doing so. He escaped with his life but in the process something was splashed into his eyes leaving him somewhat blind (I play it as having an increased sunlight sensitivity. ie: unless it pitch dark, it causes him pain to see in sunlight.) He spent the next 250 years as a pirate, learning not only the ways of piracy but exactly how much he can get away with by playing up the blind aspect of his blind bard routine. He’s a bit of a bastard, throwing his high charisma around, particularly by keeping his limited sight and general capabilities a secret, but he steps up when it counts. He likes being underestimated and coercing people into to doing things for him.
maybe one day i’ll be able to play these characters past a starting session but for now, i’ll just draw my two jewelry loving boys.
I was gonan make a post apologizing for lack of regular art but I feel like jts already clear im sporadic and in and out of it bc chronic pain and circumstances. So for now I'm gonna hibernate, get my health steady again, deal with money issues, and art will happen when it happens.
Hi! I am moving my patreon content over to ko-fi, and I will be resuming my sketchbook posts & speedpaint uploads there. It's a bit easier to keep track of my commissions & shop being on the same site, and ko-fi is lighter on extra fees.
I have a sketchbook tier that gives you access to regular sketchbook posts, and a process tier that gives you access to my speedpaint and process videos (along with prev. rewards). I also have a backlog of about 45 archived posts worth of sketchbook files, and 14 posts of speedpaints/process posts from 2018 to 2023 that I am in the process of reuploading.
I try not to personal post very often on here, but if youve followed me for a while you've probably gathered things haven't been good lately. I am in very poor shape mentally after an extremely hard year, and still pretty urgently trying to get out of my current living situation. With art commissions and freelance still being my main & only real accessible source of income right now, I am having to significantly limit the work I can take to be within my current abilities. I'm hoping that this will help ease the amount of other work I have to take on, & help me be able to prioritize moving. Anything right now would help me a ton.
I FINALLY GET TO SHARE THE ART I DID FOR THE @beloszine AAAA !!!
The second one of the Dragon/Titan form is a collab with @coventual-interests :)
I did the background and they did the dragon (speedpaint incoming in a few minutes ! )
The other ones are all me ! I didn't organize the Zine but I helped a little with the final layout. Thanks for having me :D
For more HiC goodies, like Framie pics, NSFW, and speedpaints, please feel free to browse my Patreon: www.patreon.com/orangeplum
I am most active on twitter where I post small snapshots when I work on the updates, if anyone is interested in that :~)
ALSO!I’ve just been RENEWED into the program on Tapas where I get paid for all my views. It’s a free way to support me and help me keep this coming going. If you could hop over there to see the update every month that would help me greatly. Thank you! ; u ;
Your foottraffic the last 6 months has really helped my income!
Pandora, Goddess of Calamity and ever the little shit, has turned this family dinner into a full-blown battle royale, with only Thanatos not paying any attention! Because paying attention is what noobs do! Poor Zeus and Pyrrhon try their best to keep the peace, but it is clearly a lost cause. Who shall be the fairest of the ladies present? Well, maybe one very unfortunate mortal shall decide!
For this piece, I did a couple of new things, most notably the baroque-style painting composition, using diagonal lines for extra dynamic appearance. I am not sure how well I have nailed it, but it was indeed great fun to put together! I hope you guys love it as well, let me hear your thoughts! ^^
EMERGENCY COMMISSIONS — I really, REALLY need to pay my bills and won’t have any income until next month. I’m schizophrenic and can’t hold down a job. Quick speedpaints like these are going for $12, please share and consider donating to my kofi. I’m completely struggling financially
any tips on how to choose colours for a piece? your artwork has such a distinct feel in terms of how you shade and choose colours that I feel like I could recognise it from a mile away! I'm hoping to commission you in the future when I have an income but for now all I can ask is what is your secret? (if you're happy to share!)
See, its taken me a while to get to this one, because I'm not always quite sure WHAT makes my colours unique! My brain is just like, oooh *this* colour and then I do it.
Maybe I could do a livestream/speedpaint, that might be more useful? Actually yeah, gimme a show of hands, who'd be interested in like, watching me on a discord server or something, doing art? Or a video.
Gimme input in tags/comments! <3
I feel like I haven't advertised my patreon for a while, so:
For $1 or more you get access to the #wip channel in my discord server, where I post, well, wips;
For $5 or more you can have access to .psd files of my art each month (excluding commissions and nsfw stuff) - as well as early access to my speedpaint videos which, granted, it's been a while since I made one;
For $50 or more you can get a commission each month regardless of whether I have them open or not - one character, half body, no shading;
For $100 or more you get a full body with shading instead.
Patreon is my primary source of income (the second one being commissions) so it means a lot. Particularly, it helps with the development of my game @belowheavenrpg so if you're interested in seeing it come to fruition consider helping out. I post progress updates and stuff that are open for everyone to see, even non-patrons.
[Image description: Three of the same digital illustration of a dungeons and dragons hare humanoid character sitting in a camp in a mushroom ring, two close ups and one full image. The character is roasting fairy bread over a low campfire while looking startled at a winged mushroom mouse in front of him. He has black fur with a white chest and muzzle, yellow eyes, and is wearing tattered brown clothes. The mouse creature is white with a pink mushroom cap and accents. There are more moushrooms peeking out from within a decaying log. They are all surrounded by trees and mushrooms.
Description end.]
This may be my favourite artfight pic haha. I think it's just the thought of someone roasting post-fairied bread over a campfire that tickles my funny bone.
This is @werewolfnoir 's character Oswald
Speedpaint incoming! Check the reblogs to find it ^u^
