(A REALLY late post but school requirements are so draining and stressful. I already wrote this beforehand but didn't have time to post. Since I can't seem to squish in some writing in between school and other things, I guess I'll just have to post the fics on the weekends.)

Aziraphale gasped loud enough for Crowley to hear from across the hall. It wouldn’t be surprising though, as she was used to Aziraphale’s dramatic reactions. This time, however, Crowley felt something was off. Something happened. She mumbled a few complaints but soon got up from her perch on the sofa and strutted over to the bookshelves to find the angel.

“Crowley! There you are,” said Aziraphale, a giddy smile plastered on his face. “I found something that you might find delightful. Hold on, I lost the page.”

He was holding quite a thick book and frantically flipping through the musty pages to find whatever he gasped about. Crowley simply stood there leaning against a shelf, possibly muttering the same comments she made earlier.

Another gasp of excitement. Aziraphale held the book up to Crowley’s face, pointing at a colorful illustration. “Ah yes, here it is! Do you recognize this?”

Crowley squinted. “What is.. that.”

A moment of confusion. A second of realization.

“Oh! Oh. Right.”

One angel, busy admiring the splendour of her work. Her companion was also busy admiring, not the flashes of light or the formation of celestial objects in front of him, but of her. He was fascinated with how the colors reflected in her eyes, of her wide grin as she watched what she called a nebula form--there were too many reasons to list.

Sure, he had only just met her a while ago. Maybe he saw her around in the halls of heaven but didn’t really notice. But there’s this something about her that sparks curiosity in Aziraphale, a curiosity to know more about her.

“Oh,” the starmaker angel marvelled. “Look at you, you’re gorgeous.”

Aziraphale blushed. “Why, thank-”

Oh. It wasn’t him. She wasn’t talking about him. She was still watching the nebula. Oh. It was a good thing Aziraphale’s voice was wasn’t too loud, was it? Oh, the embarrassment.

Crowley loved the stars. She loved them too much. That’s why God must have thought the best way to punish her, by removing the most important thing Crowley fought for. By not allowing her to see. All those billions and trillions of stars and nebulae and other celestial objects created by Crowley, she would never be able to see clearly again.

“I’m sorry. It slipped out of my mind, Crowley.”

“Ngkk It’s nothing. Well, there is something there but I just can’t see it. I mean I can see it but not what it really is- Get what I mean?”

Aziraphale’s smile slowly morphed into that of a guilty frown.

“Angel. Angel, it’s fine” Crowley snatched the book (carefully, of course; she wouldn’t risk damaging Aziraphale’s precious book) from Aziraphale’s hands and studied the illustration inches away from her face. To her, it wasn’t comprehensible and all the colors were a blurry mess. But she tried. She tried to remember.

Crowley hated it when Aziraphale was guilty of anything trivial. It’s not just because she didn’t want her angel to fuss and apologize, it’s because his apology means he’ll do anything and everything to make Crowley feel better. And the silence that was happening after Crowley’s statement meant that Aziraphale was going to do just that: make up for it.

“Crowley.”

“Er, shh. Quiet down, I’m trying to-”

“Yes, I know, and I’m awfully sorry to-”

“Nah.”

“What do you mean ‘nah’?”

“You’re saying sorry, why? You can’t do anything about it and it’s not even your fault.”

Another thing Aziraphale does that Crowley absolutely ‘despises’ is when Aziraphale goes all soft and rather gentle and-

“No.”

“I haven’t even said a word yet.”

“Exactly. I’m stopping you so you don’t have to say anything.”

“Crowley.”

“Let’s go stargazing. Well, I’ll gaze at the stars and I’ll describe them to you. You do know that I am excellent at describing things.” (He isn’t. Crowley just loves to listen to anything he has to say.)

“Ehh-”

“Come on now. May I tempt you for a walk around St. James’s Park? And perhaps some laying on the grass and-”

“Fine. I should be the one doing the tempting, angel.”

Aziraphale simply smiled. Crowley held back hers. Instead, she looked directly into Aziraphale’s eyes. Even if she couldn’t see the stars in the books and the stars above, she could still see one at least. She can’t remember when or how Aziraphale got stars in his eyes, but Crowley doesn’t care. She’s content; she can stare at Aziraphale’s eyes for as long as she liked.

"I just want to know what they look like!" MC has been nagging the poor angel all day. Simeon sighs. She's far too curious for her own good. The angel wonders why she even brought the subject up. He's never talked to her about it before and she's never shown any interest in it. Maybe it's because it's Christmas time in the human world. "Please show it to me once!" MC scoots closer on the sofa in his direction. There's barely any space between their faces. "Why don't you try the biscuits? Luke went to a lot of trouble to make them." The angel calmly takes a sip of tea and tries not to let her on. But the human is definitely too close to him to keep his heart rate calm. "Only if you show me your magnificent wings, I bet they're huge and snow-white! Or are you ashamed of your stubby wings?" She grins mischievously at him. She also knows exactly how to scratch an angel's ego. She definitely learns too much from these brothers.

Lost in thought, Simeon doesn't realise how she places her hand on his shoulder and slowly runs it down his back. Grinning, she gently runs her hand over his bare shoulder blades. "Here they are, aren't they?" The angel turns his head towards her, slightly indignant. "How cheeky of you MC." "So you DO listen to what I tell you and you ignore me on purpose. Show me your wings, angel!" She lunges at him and knocks him over easily. The cup hits the floor with a loud crash and a small human sits on the chest of a holy being. Panicked, Simeon had grabbed her wrist to keep her from falling, but they were still safely on the sofa, with her now in a most advantageous position.

"Please, I just want to see your true form for once. Show me how holy you really are!" Her radiant beady eyes literally pierce his soul. "On one condition," Simeon relents, "you close your eyes while I do it." MC grimaces in disappointment. These are definitely not the conditions she would have liked. "Fine... for once." She carefully closes her eyes and waits. A warm feeling slowly creeps over her, soon enveloping her completely. She waits nervously for a moment, but MC can't stand it for long and opens her eyes curiously.

Bright white feathers with golden edges dance around her. It is so brilliantly bright that it almost hurts her eyes. The only calmer, darker spot is Simeon's face. She stares at him, fascinated. He is so beautiful, lying on that feathery splendour, that it leaves her speechless. "You broke your promise," he murmurs, just before she collapses from the effects of the holy power on her Human body.

He nodded. "Maybe something for your nose or just change up your ears or eyebrow."

"I'll go get my boots on!"

Levi got up and grabbed what he needed to spoil you. "So, I've been thinking."

You ran back and hummed. "Yeah?"

He cleared his throat. "Maybe I could get my ears pierced?"

You gasped in delight. "You'd look so good with a long dangling earring!"

He cupped your face. "Possibly my tongue. I've heard it can feel good for you."

You blushed. "Mm..."

He leaned closer. "Or maybe somewhere below."

You shivered as he covered your face in kisses. "Levi."

He grabbed your hand and pulled you along. "Come on, my little black cat."

The two of you made it to Levi's car before he drove you to your usual shops. He helped you select a few things that he said would look adorable on you. Levi paid for it all, even though you protested a little and asked to pay. Levi wanted to spoil you. When you were finished, you ended up going to your usual piercing place.

Levi hugged you from behind as you looked at what you could get. "You thinking of getting another?"

"Possibly tongue. I heard it can be good for you too."

Levi kissed the side of your head. "Well, I think I'll book myself in for something."

You turned in his arms and gazed at him. "Are you sure?"

Levi nodded. "Yeah, and I might even get a tattoo."

You felt yourself drooling at the thought of your tough and handsome boyfriend having tattoos and piercings. "Oh, wow."

"You think it'll look good?"

You nodded. "Really good!" You blushed at how eager you were. "Oh, but only get them if you want them."

Sunday 28th April 2024

At ten am after a rather glutinous breakfast, the sort that would set a camel up nicely for a week in the desert, we checked out of our sumptuous Victoria Falls Hotel in preparation for a rather busy day hanging around for the departure at 3pm of the Rovos Rail to Pretoria. We sense the presence of many other closet rail enthusiasts lurking around dark corners of the hotel, each idling away the time before all aboard is called. Nobody seems able to settle, but the train arrived at 10 in the shantie style station immediately across the road from the front of the hotel. The security army tried yesterday to prevent us taking a look at the rather underused platform. Trains are only really seen here twice a week so I guess it's a bit of a big event when one does idle by. No doubt it would take a little while to flit around with a duster and restock the fridge before allowing the replacement batch of the shunters club on. The Victoria Falls Hotel has been superb in every way and we couldn't fault it. The Edwardian splendour was not lost on us. It would have total tranquility were it not for the constant circling of helicopters enabling wallet bulging Americans a different perspective of the Falls.

We made it to the train. By the time champagne, canapes, the welcome speech, and admin tasks were taken care of we weighed anchor and set off at a steady 60 km in a southerly direction. We just sit in the lounge car, drink a G&T and relax. Dinner was served at 7.30 with a perfect rack of lamb washed down with some output from Stellenbosch; Sauvignan Blanc and a Merlot.

This is the fourth such train we have been on and the format is familiar. Our little compartment is small but functional with the main room set aside for daytime relaxing on a long bench/ sofa which magically transforms into a double bed whilst we are dining. Then through a doorway is a bathroom containing a toilet, basin and shower cubicle. Quite comfortable all in all. For those with pots of money the deluxe suite that provides a little extra seating area in addition to the bed area. And for people who have more money than you can shake a stick at there's the Royal suite that also offers a corner bath.

Up early at 5.30 tomorrow for an early breakfast and a game reserve so it'll be an early bedtime. Why can't animals get up a bit later?

The luxury Junior suites are located above the heart of London’s Piccadilly and feature fireplaces and comfortable large sofas.

A perfect blend of relaxed living space and five-star luxury, these suites can be connected to another Junior Suite room, making them ideal for a family break in London or for friends wanting to spend quality time together.

I chose to look closely at different suites in the ritz as I feel it could inspire me to add specific details from each room to my design for eg colour, patterns, wallpaper, carpet. I really like the neural cool tones of the decor in the junior suit and feel it perfectly reflects the wealth.
