Real trains/locomotives can only be sumitted as the fictional trains they play- "Kozlova's circus train” can go in the poll, but “LMS 13065″ can’t.

Train-based media (Thomas the Tank Engine, Chuggington, Starlight express, ect) get ONE character EACH. Pre-polls will run parallel to submissions to determine which characters.

More may be included in extrordinary circumstances like it being really funny.

Characters/things that transform into a train sometimes are allowed, but only if they’re a train most of the time, or if the train-ness is an important aspect of their identity.

Trains that are real but have fictional things happen on them are allowed, but they’re on thin ice. For example, the Orient Express is allowed but only when there’s a murder on it.

Your OC trains are lovely and wonderful but also not allowed. There are simply too many. 

Submissions of trains will be considered above submissions of just locomotives by themselves.

Please try and include an image! I will if you don't, but it'll make my life a lot easier if you do.

A Starlight Introduction: Admin Prim!

Happy holidays! I'm Admin Prim (@primamchorus), organizer of the Starlight Initiative!

I've been looking more and more forward with each passing day to the start of the Weekend of Gift Giving! Especially as someone who spends a lot of time actively and passively farming stuff in-game, and, as a result, just seems to have a number of little goodies stashed away to hand out to those that would want them!

In addition, I love to craft, I could craft all day if I wanted to! So I'll be at the event, not only open for questions or concerns, but to help the rest of our lovely Little Helpers (some of who you'll get to meet through this blog over the course of time!) with getting things crafted for your enjoyment! :>

I'm also more than willing to help out with deep dungeons (I finally have a full Palace of the Dead clear under my belt, as well as eight Heaven-on-High ones!). I can also help out with things like Eureka and Bozja as well! Or maybe you just want to farm Extreme and Savage content, I can do most of those, too!

When I'm not in-game, I pursue a lot of different creative outlets. One of the bigger ones lately is that I've been writing a lot. Though, I do like to draw as well, I enjoy GPosing, and I've even been dabbling in making gifs of my characters! It's been a fun experience setting them up and getting even little scenes played out between each of my individual shot set ups!

I am also decidedly very annoying on my main blog (@paintedscales; funnily enough, I never really saw myself extending outside that bubble when I returned to social media!) about my WoL and my ship there. My WoL and the ship I have for her tickle my brain good and give me warm fuzzies, what can I say?

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me! I hope that I and the rest of our team get to see you at the Starlight Weekend of Gift Giving!

District Nine Writers’ Guild proudly presents its first biannual writing event . . . 

D9W 2022 — Starlight.

Inspired by Stray Kids’ annual compilation albums and presentations, together we’ll release an “album” of our own showcasing our writing! While a bit vague, like a star seen from afar, the theme for the “album” is starlight. 

This event is for members and non-members, meaning anyone may sign up to contribute to the final “album.” The fic you write is your song on the album. We’ll be posting the “album” (a masterlist) with links to everyone’s fics.

3: describe the first time you watched/played/read your f/o's source content. ❥ doctor who was an emotional rollercoaster right from the beginning — it was so different from anything i had ever watched, like a fresh breath of air. i was immediately enchanted by the world and its' characters, smiled, laughed and cried like never before. but everything seemed to intensify once ten, my f/o, was on screen.

this is a video i sent to my friend while i was watching his debut. warning for. some kind of a high(er)-pitched voice reveal and fangirl noises.

it's difficult for me to describe the feelings that took hold of my being, but i grew attached to him very, very quickly.

13: do you have a favorite line your f/o has ever said? ❥ i have too many. i love everything that his cute lil mouth spouts - from his explanations to the tiny noises he makes when he's confused or content. i adore his catchphrases ( "allons-y!" ; "molto bene" ) and the way he says "wOt ??" but, here's a favourite line of mine that i re-discovered recently and makes me smile like an idiot because god: - "Way too many people have died. Brand new creatures and wise old men and age old enemies. And I'm telling you, I'm telling you right now, I am not having one more death! You got that? Not one. Tallulah, out of the way. The Doctor is in." and the most inspiring line: - "Some people live more in twenty years than others do in eighty. It's not the time that matters, it's the person."

aaand two lines that make me cry my eyes out: - "I could do so much more. So much more! But this is what I get. My reward. And it's not fair! Oh. I've lived too long." - "I don't want to go."

so, i managed to get my hands on ten's funko pop (also twelve and nine), i got his tardis and this stunning portrait of him drawn by Sophie Cowdrey

i also have ten's fob watch from the episode "human nature" & "family of blood". the symbols are properly engraved and it's a lot more detailed than i thought it would be. came with a cute little pendant too.

not sure if this counts as merchandise, but i have the (german) collector's edition of his and nine's entire season! (also got twelve's collectors edition)

last but not least, I have an adipose figure (because partners in crime is probably my favourite episode) and a dalek figure. for no reason.

Various Worldbuilding notes I haven't had a chance to post yet

A somewhat more realistic proportions guide with canon iterator heights for reference. For extra consideration: the MIP Units have a height limit that PU just about hits. None of the MIP Units should be taller than them.

I wanted to detail this – Since the MIP Units contain a lot of Void Fluid, it makes sense to have a mechanism to get rid of it if necessary.

Of course, this makes a lot more sense if you're aware of certain information I don't feel like publicizing yet... :) spoilers and all that

lastly here's how LOF's "ears" work. Also... I think they should probably have openings in their clothes for easy access to all the stuff on their backs. Their cloaks and such are loose enough for the vents not to be all blocked up.

Also, small detail, but SLS was modified to have the handle a lot of the later units got...

LOF does not, though! She's had some modifications, of course, but only on her own terms.

Hello all! Allow me to introduce myself, I am Admin Elika (@blossomblade), co-organizer for the Starlight Initiative.

It’s a pleasure to make everyone’s acquaintance as we gradually begin opening our channels of communication leading up to the weekend of gift giving for Final Fantasy XIV. We as the Admins as well as our Helpers have been hard at work crafting, gathering, and scouring all of Etheirys to help spread the joy and merriment.

A bit about myself, I enjoy dabbling in nearly all aspects of the game where I can and have slowly been learning more about past content. Whether I’m understanding all Extreme trials or learning how to house decorate. There are very few elements of this game that I am not slowly beginning to better myself.

I am willing to help out with all manner of content within the game: Dungeons, Trials, Deep Dungeons, Extremes, Decorating, and more! Of course, my time is limited to the evenings on weekdays, and provide some mote of advance notice.

Outside of the game, I am typically withdrawn to my own creative endeavors, or performing a routine of cooking and caring for my partner. It’s been some time since I’ve drawn anything significant, but I do my best not to dull my talents with the occasional doodle. My writing still needs work and it’s something that I am still seeking to polish over time.

Research and understanding the wider world have consumed my past few years (when not playing FF14) as I have been feeding my knowledge into a fantasy world endeavor. Should you ever have the interest (and a lot of time on your hands) just ask me about it sometime and I’m always happy to explain all the various aspects of this world-building hobby.

For now I wish to thank you for your time and I hope to see you again. Either in-game for the Weekend of Gift Giving or in some other social outlet! Take care!
