Sunlight Aromantic

my take on/alt version of the Aromantic flag and another addition to the skyset pride series.

being aromantic covers a vast different kind of experiences with romance and romantic attraction or lack thereof. some are romance repulsed, some are romance favourable, some are neutral, some want relationships some dont, some have a limited amount of romantic attraction while some have none at all, the list goes on but all aromantics are valid and welcome in the community and are welcome to call themselves queer no matter what other labels they use.

Ok I just watched all the episodes of Starlighter (not exposed or my heartstopper yet) and I’ve gotta say it’s really really good! My favourite character has gotta be Wren! I love her seriousness. Boba is cool too, nice to have some autism rep.

I’m REALLY intrigued with where the story is going and I have so many questions about Thea and Jaida and just the world as a whole.

If I’d have to have one complaint, the romance between Gray and Xero feels a bit forced, and actively takes away from what I like about their characters, but it’s still a good series and I’ve enjoyed watching it!

I'm sooo happy you're enjoying the show!!! (And thanks for coming back to share with me your asks have been the highlight of my days LOL)

You didn't hear this from me but I think the Brainfreeze ship is also kind of overrated LOL We originally had a darker personality and story planned for Xero that I personally liked a bit more, but Jakey fell in love with these two's potential dynamic as he was writing and if was right around the time that the Netflix show "Heartstopper" was airing- soooo he got inspired and the entirety of My Heartstopper is just Grey and Xero gay romance LOL

While most of our early ideas have been scrapped, they've been switched out for other stories that work more for what we've got going and I feel that the general arcs we want these characters to go on, will still be fulfilled. Grey and Wren are still two sides of the same coin in reaction to the systematic oppression they face, and Xero despite his relationship, still has some unaddressed issues and the risks he takes still exist. Let us cook we'll get there eventually 🍜

i miss Attention and such but whenever I delve into fandom communities for like an hour randomly I come out like......are you guys even having fun. because it's supposed to be fun. also I can't sleep

#skye.txt #theres lots of stuff that i find very uncomfy and deliberately avoid. for example i would never ship buddy with anyone not even as an adult #*bc her being aroace is rly important to me and also funny. but im not losing sleep over ppl who feel differently i just will never interac #*w their work. same w other stuff i dislike. i just go 'that probably exists #*yuck!' and then move on and keep existing #i just. could not bring myself to care about what other ppl are doing. or care much at all. maybe its the depression #like. maybe its bc of my depression but i deliberately avoid and ignore and Do Not See It to things i dont like or that make me uncomfy #*bc life is already so depressing and sad #like. the Internet should be a place for fun (besides like hw/work stuff). if smth isnt fun just stop engaging with it #idk i think a lot of ppl would be less anxious and upset if they learned they could clear away the bad crap and focus on the stuff they lik #ok another example #i really really dont like trixie/starlight. i only ship starlight w twilight and i dont rly care about trixie. so i just blacklist the tag #and i dont follow ppl who post it or i hide the posts. thats it. and i write/read fic/headcanons that i do like. thats it!

Getting another aroace rep out there while first post is doing well.

Did you guys know we're getting a canonically aroace character in live action Star Wars THIS SUMMER

Vernestra Rwoh from the High Republic era was confirmed to be being played by Rebecca Henderson in the new show Acolyte coming out this year.

Vernestra was confirmed aroace by her main writer Justina Ireland (writer of Dread Nation, a great read!) And the word aromantic was used in her section of the High Republic characters encyclopedia.

The High Republic in general is full of queer, women and non white characters, the authors are so nice and so is the fandom.

I was at Celebration when Vernestra was announced to be in live action and I cried so much I can't wait for more people to know her.

A little background info, Vernestra is the current known youngest Jedi to be knighted, she was 15!

Her former master Stellan Gios is one of the marshals of Starlight Beacon and for a little bonus rep is implied to be in love with two of his best friends (the authors do drop hints to this, it's not just fans).

Her next appearance is in Defy the Storm by Justina Ireland and Tessa Graton coming out next month, I can't wait to see what happens.

ive never been a big fan of starlight in mlp and am also aroace but ohh god your starlight design and drawings of her,,, make me feel some things

I actually didn't really like Starlight much when I was watching the show as it aired. But now that I'm older and have discovered certain things about myself...

I also feel like the humor of her character is something you really only appreciate once you get a bit older. I really enjoy her presence as the more problematic and petty member of the main cast.

And her mildly toxic relationship with the other problematic and petty character, Trixie, just makes it all even better.
