“Why does it have to be so early?” A yawn escaped your lips as you rested your head onto your arms on the desk in front of you. Your best friend rolled his eyes from the desk beside you where he was promptly fixing his head.
“Y/n, do you ever sleep?” The voice who spoke up didn’t belong to that of Minghao on your right but instead the extremely studious third member of your friend group - Joshua Hong. You puffed your cheeks in response to the American as he sat down at his desk in front of you, twisting to look at you, “do you even know what class we have in ten minutes?”
The male proceeded to get his books out of his bag, laying them on his desk as he awaited your answer. You just stared at him blankly - he knew the answer, he was just trying to make you think, “it’s English.”
He turned to prep the content you’d be learning in class after he told you, leaving you with Minghao once more. The lanky male leaned back in his chair as he propped his slim legs onto his desk. You slapped his legs in a scolding manner and yet he still didn’t move them, shrugging at you. Your eyes rolled at the difference in your friends. Joshua thrived in these classroom situations, his favourite subjects were history and linguistics. He could sit in a classroom for hours and never be bored by it however Minghao and yourself were much different. Minghao favoured dance and his ability to b-boy, always finding himself in the school gymnasium or the nearest park. You on the other hand favoured art. Anything than this.
Deciding you should probably prep like Joshua if you wanted to keep some good grades for the end of the year, you pulled your backpack onto your lap and searched for the required English books with a stubborn huff. However as your fingers flipped through the books in the back, none of them appeared to be the ones you needed.
“Ah, shit,” you cursed quietly and your friends turned their heads, following by Joshua asking the simple ‘what’s wrong?’ question, “my books aren’t in my bag. I’m going to go check my locker.”
“If they’re not in your locker, you can borrow mine. I’m done copying the content for the class over.” Joshua offered as you stood from your desk. You flashed the smart male a grateful smile before your legs carried you out of the bustling classroom.
The hallways were much quieter at this time since most students were in their classrooms by this time awaiting classes to start. As you passed each classroom with closed doors, the loud yells and echoing noises could still be heard from within. You knew this school had loud students, majority of them were in your class. You hummed as you walked, thankful that your lockers this year were much closer to your classroom. You distinctly remember last year your locker was across the school campus which would have been far from fitting in this situation since you had ten minutes left for class.
The locker key slid into the lock, echoing clicks as it unlocked and you pulled the metal door. Your brows knitted together as a folded piece of paper fell to your feet, crouching down to pick it up. It was being held shut by a smiley face sticker and otherwise was sparsely decorated on the outside. You saw no sight of your books as you shut the locker and pocketed the paper.
“No books?” Joshua hummed as you entered the classroom. You shook your head as you threw yourself into your chair, watching him place his books on your desk.
“Nope,” you popped the ‘p’ as you removed the paper from your pocket, fiddling with it in your fingers as the two males stared at it, “just this piece of paper.”
“Well... read it then.” Minghao scoffed and you rolled your eyes, placing your nail under the sticker as you lifted it, opening up the folded paper.
Hey, y/n.
These words I would struggle to say to you out loud in reality so I decided to write like this in hopes I could admit things and never have to say it to your face. I don’t care if any feelings are reciprocated or not, I just want these things off my chest.
I like you. Now I think about it, like is such a simple word, isn’t it? Silly as well. Oh well, I said what I needed to so it doesn’t matter.
Sincerely, sunshine.
The note stuck with your thoughts for the remainder of the class - and the day. The concept that someone liked you was bewildering to you, but what caught you off guard more was that they knew you existed. As you stared around at the back of the heads of those in your class, you held your breath in anticipation.
-
“Morning assholes.” You greeted the two males as you slumped into your seat. You were considerably late this morning, especially since Joshua was already in his seat. The two looked up at you, giving you a warm smile. A few days had passed since the initial letter was left in your locker and you had avoided your locker for the remaining days in case any more had appeared but yet this morning, your legs seemingly carried you to your locker and curiosity killed the cat - another letter fell to the floor again.
You removed it from your pocket, staring at it in pure confusion. It instantly caught the attention of your friends, as Minghao reached to try pull it from your fingers. You sent him a death glare, quickly moving it closer to your chest.
“Do you guys really not recognise the handwriting?” You sighed and both Joshua and Minghao shook their heads. You frowned as you slouched in your seat, opening the second letter you’d received. The empty spaces of the paper were decorated in doodles of the sun and the hangul was yet again neat and somehow rushed. It was still the same person writing.
Y/n, you could gather it’s me again.
I realised I never really spoke about the things I like about you. Just left it at a blank end of admitting feelings and never what it was that spurred them, huh? I have to give thanks to the boba tea stickers on your locker being the reason I could even find it by the way, nobody would tell me where it was. Firstly I hugely admire your voice. Something so small, hey? You barely speak in class discussions yet I can hear you talk with your friends, the way you laugh and all. Your voice stands out. I know you’re not from Seoul, your accent reflects it. It’s so subtle but differentiates you from others. It’s pretty.
Secondly is your passion for art. You’re really passionate about it. I follow your art instagram and you’re incredible at displaying your emotions and experiences into the art you create and you always take your time when working on an art piece. Even the small doodles you do in your books because you find the class boring.
Class is almost starting and I have to get this to your locker, so I’ll end here.
Sincerely, sunshine.
Your cheeks rose in temperature, paired with a warm hue of pink to show the effect of the letter as you looked around at your classmates. If they could hear you speak with Minghao and Joshua, they must be within your closest vicinity - right? You looked to your left, where Im Nayeon sat. She definitely wouldn’t be the secret admirer but she might recognise the handwriting. In front of her sat Chae Hyungwon and behind her was Oh Sehun.
Your head turned to Minghao’s side. In front of him sat Sana Minatozaki, a quiet Japanese exchange student who would only sometimes turn to speak to Minghao due to their similarities as exchange students. Behind Minghao was the class representative that the guys had teased you about since you joined the class, Lee Seokmin. When you first joined, he’d spoken to you and it was like you forgot all sense of Korean. Finally behind you was Kim Yerim, another quiet student who you couldn’t imagine writing someone a love letter.
You let out a sigh as you rested your arms on your desk before placing your head on them. Minghao pat your shoulder and sent you a sympathetic look. You were becoming increasingly more frustrated with the fact nobody recognised the handwriting and you would most definitely look insane going around the classroom and requesting to see everyone’s handwriting. Out of everyone in the vicinity you had listed to yourself, of course you hoped it would be Lee Seokmin. You’d do anything for it to be him now.
-
Not a soul recognised the handwriting in your classroom. Every single person denied knowing if they knew the person or the handwriting, including everyone in the vicinity of your desk. Shoving another mouthful of rice into your mouth, you let out a frustrated groan.
“It’s odd that not a single person recognises the handwriting.” Joshua hummed from where he was eating ramyeon he’d made at home. Minghao nodded in response.
You would receive a third letter that day after lunch, with the same smiley face sticker. Huddled into a stall in the girl’s toilet, you opened it in silence away from your classmates and especially your best friends.
The weather is lovely, right?
It’s been fun to see you trying to figure out who I am. To be honest, when I wrote the first letter I didn’t think you would be bothered by it and I didn’t expect to write any more. This has been fun, however maybe it is time to end it before you get too frustrated trying to be a detective.
Meet me on the roof after class! Sincerely, sunshine.
Suddenly a wave of anxiety washed over you. Was they really going to be there? In person? The thought that you’d have to reject them depending on who it was made you feel ill - you wasn’t any good with confrontations. Yet, you refused to let them down and nodded to yourself that you’d be there.
-
You left class before it was even supposed to be over. The hallways were still empty as you traversed them, fixing your hair whenever you could see your reflection. You felt dizzy with the pace your heart was going at inside of your ribcage, letting the soft summer breeze blow your uniform gently as you stood at the edge of the roof, admiring the school grounds while it was silent. While you were alone, you decided to slip the backpack off of your shoulders and sit on the ledge, refusing to dangle your legs however.
As much as you hated the school and the campus, you were going to thoroughly miss it, you decided as the orange and red tints of sunset painted the grounds and filtered through trees. You smiled softly, enjoying the temperature summer was bringing with it. The roof doors opened, the ones you had passed through merely moments ago as the bells rang through all of the school buildings and there was a sudden chorus of noise. Frozen on the spot, you suddenly didn’t want to turn around and face reality.
“Sunset is pretty from up here, isn’t it?” The voice quipped as it approached to stand beside where you sat. You caught his face out of the corner of your eyes, your heart thudding loudly in your ears as you nodded.
“I could watch sunsets for hours,” you mumbled with a small laugh, “Hao bullies me for it.”
“It’s understandable - your part, that is,” Seokmin spoke again with a nod, his usual bright grin breaking out across his face, “there’s something about them. I’m just not good at words.”
It was quiet for a few moments between the two of you before he uttered a soft “I suppose that’s why we’re here.”
Your fingers fiddled with the threaded sleeves of your school jumper, rough from how much you’d pick at the threads and give yourself sweater paws. You nodded at his words as you watched the hordes of students filter from the campus buildings.
“How about we go grab coffee?” You asked as you finally turned your head to look at him. Seokmin smiled, nodding, “I’ll show you some of my work I don’t post.”
-
You groaned, slapping the back of Minghao’s head as you walked past him. He let out a loud ‘ouch’ as his hands flew to hold his head, glaring at you. You rolled your eyes as Seokmin laughed from your side.
“You really put your feet up literally everywhere.” You sighed as Seokmin and yourself sat opposite Joshua and Minghao. Joshua had his head in the menus, humming at your words.
“Are you surprised? He’s a walking bean pole.” He joked and Minghao scoffed, looking at the both of you.
“You’re fucking bullies, both of you.” He whined, doing tricks with the pen in his hand. You shrugged, resting your head on Seokmin’s shoulder as you shared the same menu. Seokmin pressed a kiss to your head briefly, causing you to look at him as he pressed another kiss to your lips. You smiled and in response so did Seokmin, flashing you what you liked to nickname the sunshine smile.

Sea Cryptic! Danny AU- Pt.2
[Pt.1] [Pt.3] [Pt.4][Pt.5][Pt.6][Pt.7]
Danny dragged up another plastic wrapped body from the bay.
“It’s you. What are you doing?”
“Oh, holy smokes!” Danny screeched. “What-! Oh, it’s you! The litterer!”
Batman stood in front of Danny, cape draped around his shoulders and a far better sight to see than the last time Danny had seen the guy.
“… I’m Batman.” He introduced himself to Danny awkwardly.
“Uh huh. You missed a couple of things cleaning up the beach last time.” Danny dropped the body on the pebbled shore of the bay and crossed his arms. He sent Batman an unimpressed look. “You’re just like your city. There’s trash all over the water!”
Batman glanced down.
“That is a body.”
Danny scowled.
“No, that’s plastic. Plastic does not belong in the ocean.”
Batman sighed. For some reason, Danny thought he seemed less… antagonistic. Wait, did he think Danny killed the guy?!
“That is a body wrapped in plastic.”
Fuck it.
“If it was a body, then bury it. Or decompose it before you people decide to dump it into the water. Even the sharks have the decency to decompose when they’re dead. Do you know how long plastic takes to deteriorate??”
Batman glanced to the side, where the line of plastic wrapped masses had caught his eye to begin with.
“I do. Did all of these come from the bay?”
“Quite obviously, yes. I don’t have enough time to clean the waters! Ancients, it’s like they’re multiplying!” Danny knew why they were multiplying. It’s because Gothamites were getting murdered and dumped weekly. The problem is that Danny has classes and assignments to complete and he couldn’t be out here every week.
“I’ll handle it.”
“Oh, will you? And how do you plan on doing that when you couldn’t even properly clean the beach of your plane? I even stacked it up nicely for you to pick up!”
Alright, so maybe Danny had a couple of grudges. Like… a solid one that’s based on the hours of sleep he missed cleaning up after Batman and the wreck.
“We didn’t get everything?”
“No.” Danny huffed. “Whatever. Just figure out what to do with these bodies. I was not looking forward to digging graves for all of them.”
“You were going to dig graves for them?” Batman sounded off.
Danny scowled again. “I’m dead, genius.” And now Batman looked like someone ran over his dog. “Respecting the dead is important and graves are important for the dead. How else would we know we’re remembered?”
Danny threw up his hands. “Humans,” he muttered, like he wasn’t half human himself.
“Anyways, I’m leaving. Handle this properly or else I’m haunting you.”
“Wait-!” Batman said, but Danny had already disappeared.
So, while Batman had an angst crises at two thirty in the morning and thirty new unidentified corpses to contend with, Danny Fenton flew back to his apartment and passed out on his shitty couch.
——
“You need to stop.”
“Pay me to stop, then. What are your villains going to do? Kill me? I’d like to see them try.”
Danny looked Batman right in his lenses and plopped another body down at the man’s feet.
“I can tell you who they are for a fee.” Danny offered the vigilante. “Some of these still have shades of their souls attached still.”
“What.”
Danny tilted his head, moon once more lighting a halo of flickering white flames around his head. “$100 per identity.”
Batman stared.

Dp x Dc prompt #4
After discovering weird energy readings coming from the Pit located underneath Gotham, Batman decides to check it out.
Arriving at the scene with Robin, the first thing they notice is not any escaped Arkham rogue or Assassin from the League like they had been expecting.
No, instead, next to the pit sits a random exhausted-looking guy. Next to him are studying materials which he seems to be working on, and he’s also holding a straw that’s dipped straight into the Pit, occasionally taking a sip.

Modern day High School Sukuna buys you cookies that school run shop sells in the morning.
He hates the taste of them and hates spending money there because Satoru Gojo is always up there flirting with the student staff and asking if he really enjoys eating those shit cookies. One time Ryomen punched him straight in the face and bailed before Satoru could do something
The next day when Sukuna when to buy you shitty cookies Satoru made a snide comment about how he should watch his shit or you’d be next on his list of- then Sukuna punched him again
They got into a full on brawl and the student shop had to be closed for repairs. Sukuna was suspended temporarily with Gojo
The next day on your way to school you were kinda sad you wouldn’t see him or your morning cookies until you made it to the gate and there he stood in his casual clothes leaning against the pillar. Hands tucked into his pockets and bag hanging on his wrist while he stared up at the sky bored out of his mind. He felt your stare and his eyes moved to look at you before his head fell to face you, he had that smug smirk when he stood up, “Couldn’t let my brat starve.”
Then he hands you the bag from the mart that had two glazed donuts and a carton of banana milk.

˚ ༘♡ ·˚꒰ now loading… enjoy! ꒱ ₊˚ˑ༄
The bells chimed loudly through out the campus, ringing in every attending student or staff’s ears as it travelled through the mazes of corridors and filled the classrooms. There was a chorus of disappointed groans and moans from students filling the hallways, pushing and shoving to get to their metal lockers that others slammed shut into the quarrelling atmosphere. It was time to disperse from gossiping crowds and couples with their faces mushed together. Although it was to be noted, you’d never be seen in such an environment, for you where already seated at your desk with your head in a revision guide. Were exams approaching? Of course not but you’d like to stay on top of your studies as much as possible.
What was the point in mindlessly gathering like a cult in a crowded corridor, you thought to yourself as the masses of students in your class began to herd through the door as it opened. Couldn’t that wait for outside of school hours? You shook your head mentally, scrapping the thought as you turned your gaze back down to the open pages in front of you. You hadn’t the slightest of any friends, you liked it that way. Perhaps a little lonely sometimes however at what cost did company come without drama? Not that you were ever involved in it but you overheard plenty from the girls seated around you. You had - once upon a time - had a friend, you reminisced as your eyes landed to the empty desk beside you. Until she was forcibly moved schools and you never heard from her again.
The clicking noise of freshly polished heels hitting the tiled school flooring silenced the rowdy noise surrounding you as the classroom door slid open and your youthful teacher stepped in, eliciting some whispers from the males amongst your class population. Your eyes rolled almost automatically, looking back at your book as you expected her to start the class attendance shortly but it never came, in fact the sudden whispering of the girls surrounding you caused you to raise your head once more.
Stood beside your teacher rather awkwardly was a tall, lanky male you wished you could describe as a beanpole. His hair was brown and wasn’t styled yet still maintained a neat look you couldn’t comprehend when all the males in your class stiffened their hair with gel. His gaze wandered the many staring faces of your classmates before it fell to you. Neither of you even exchanged a smile as you both turned your heads away, with you swallowing a tight lump in your throat.
“We have a new exchange student joining our class for the rest of the semester from China today,” your teacher spoke up, drawing the attention of many listening ears as the class craved for information about the mysterious student, “I’d like to assign him to one of you, I expect you’ll take care of him during his time with us.”
The classroom erupted once more into loud, screeching sounds as the girls shot from their seats, their arms raised as they all yelled “me!” in hopes your teacher would choose one of them to be assigned the good-looking exchange student. You clicked your tongue quietly, not faltering as you kept your head low and begged that your teacher would just choose one of them and bless you with silence once more in the classroom.
“Miss l/n?” your teacher called out over the girls’ many pleas - they however quietened at your name, slowly lowering themselves back into their seats as they turned to stare at you. You raised your head, confused, “I’m entrusting our new exchange student to you. You’ll sit beside y/n, she’ll take care of you.”
She finished speaking to the exchange, who nodded slightly before meandering his way through the desks of pouting students, watching his every move expectantly. As the chair beside you pulled out from under the desk, you gulped and lowered your head from the narrowed glares you were receiving. Nobody had sat there since her and now you were having to process having no choice but to speak to another person.
“What’s your name?” You whispered suddenly, taking notes in your book as your teacher began blabbering about geography and the weather, “welcome to our class by the way.”
The male lifted his head from where he was writing, as if he didn’t expect you to even remotely acknowledge him. With the tiniest smile on his face, he nodded and looked back at his book.
“I-uh- Xu Minghao, my Korean name is Myungho,” he mumbled and you took note of how fluid he was with his hand, writing so smoothly, “nice to meet you.”
A hum erupted from your chest, cracking a small smile on your lips as you tapped your pen against the desk.
“Nice to meet you too.”
-
“Your classmates are certainly loud.” Minghao mused softly from where the two of you were sat on the grassy school grounds, basking in the sunshine during the lunch period. You let out a soft sigh, muddling your chopsticks through your food as if with a sudden loss of appetite.
“They’re something else, that’s for certain,” you mumbled, making Minghao chuckle slightly, “they could have put you in a quieter class.”
“You don’t get along well with your classmates... do you?” Minghao’s question came out carefully, his eyes watching your expressions as you faltered, swallowing what food was left in your mouth. He wasn’t wrong but you were amazed he’d been with the class just a morning and he’d picked up that you were the black sheep.
“That obvious, huh?” You sighed, taking a sip of the smoothie you’d made before you dashed out of the house this morning. Minghao’s normal smile faltered into a sad smile, looking down at his own packed lunch.
“Sort of, they were whispering about you while I walked to sit down,” Minghao admitted quietly and you felt yourself scoff, pursing your lips as Minghao realised he was treading on thin ice, “do you really not have any friends?”
Part of you wished Minghao would shut up, no matter if he was almost as quiet as you personality-wise. Yet you couldn’t deny it felt nice to have someone acknowledge your existence past the pushing and shoving you experienced, even the shoulder bumps in the corridors. His company was warm too, he wasn’t cold like everyone else.
“The only friend I had used to sit at the desk you sit at now, she left without a trace months ago,” there was this pull, like an urge to spill your secrets to the guy you’d met only a mere few hours ago, “haven’t really befriended someone since. I don’t need that drama.”
Minghao lifted his beef lunch to his mouth, chewing his mouthful as he nodded and stared off into the distance.
-
It had been a few weeks since Minghao joined your class as a Chinese exchange student and you’d finally been forced to use your voice for more than a one minute answer to a question in class. That day you’d have uttered all the curses under the sun, cursing out your teacher for disrupting your peaceful last year of education but as you wandered the hallways with Minghao before class, you were beginning to fall thankful to your teacher and wondered if that was her plan all along.
“Yoohoo, four-eyes!” A voice hollered above the many conversations you were passing, almost freezing your body as you suddenly regretted not staying at your desk as you had always done. Minghao glanced down at you as he took notes of the glasses perched on your nose and the realisation came down on him that they must have meant you.
The taller, bulkier male that you had instantly recognised the voice approached you, his face smug as not a single eyelash battered in his direction. The corridors were his domain, after all. He was in your class, of course he was - nobody outside of your class would even know your face, you were seen that little around campus.
“What do you want, Seungmin?” It came out as a sigh, unable to raise your voice slightly and fight back to whatever he wanted from you. It could be a variety of things but hopefully he wouldn’t cause a scene with Minghao tailgating you everywhere. Despite being much thinner than Seungmin, Minghao had unconsciously shuffled towards you and he himself couldn’t even explain it.
He’d been learning so much about you over such a short course of time, taking note of every small thing you did. Even if he’d fly back to China at the end of the semester, he wanted to prove to you that he was worth your trust as a friend. Specifically, he remembered you venting that you could never seem to stand up for yourself after your old friend disappeared and that’s why you’d began to hide away in the classroom all day every day, hunched over your desk.
“Write my economics paper for me,” he ordered and you wished you could wipe off that prideful look from his face because he knew you wouldn’t refuse, “what? Too busy with your new friend?”
Minghao bit his tongue. If anybody in the area had cared about you even in the slightest, they’d have felt the same unexplainable anger as he did in that moment. His eyes narrowed at Seungmin, watching from the corner of his eyes as you hung your head low to avoid looking at him.
“When is it due-” You had began to speak but Minghao cleared his throat, cutting you off as he stepped in. He no longer wanted to feel like a ghost helplessly watching you be bullied into doing someone else’s assignment.
“She’s busy, you’ll have to do it yourself.” He stated, his voice louder than average as you raised your gaze to look up at him. He refused to look down at your most likely disappointed stare as Seungmin quirked a brow, turning to him.
“I didn’t realise I was speaking to you, asshole.” He gritted his teeth and Minghao inhaled, bracing himself as he blocked a punch Seungmin threw his way with his upper arm.
“You are now.” Minghao uttered under his breath as he threw a punch back, catching Seungmin’s chin and throwing him off balance. Seungmin groaned, gripping his chin before he angrily stomped towards the Chinese male again. Tired of the situation, you attempted to step in front of Minghao but the male nudged you out of the way with his elbow, getting you out of the firing range as Minghao was thrown back into the metal lockers behind him.
-
“This is not what I’d expect from you, Minghao,” your teacher sighed as she stood over the two of you in the nurse’s office, “but thank you for standing up for her - next time, you get staff involved.”
Her heels faded away as she left and the two of you were left alone in the dingy nurse’s office. The lights weren’t on and it was overcast outside, leaving it a gloomy grey colour inside the room. The nurse had been here half an ago, tending to Minghao before she was rushed off. Pressing the pack of ice to Minghao’s busted lip, you sighed.
“That was reckless, Minghao.” You mumbled, not quite wanting to sit and thank him continuously for standing up for you. You were quite used to taking orders from your classmates when it came to their grades, there was no need in your eyes for him to stand up for you. His gaze drifted out of the window, wincing momentarily when you applied pressure to his busted lip - eliciting a quiet apology from you.
“I don’t care what you’re used to, y/n or what is normal here,” Minghao sighed, taking the pack of ice from your hand as it began to cramp from holding the freezing item for so long, “I’m not going to let you get walked over like a doormat for as long as I’m here. You’re my friend.”
The phrase rang in your ears like the school bell would every morning, your eyes staring at him as you processed what he’d just said. You couldn’t even be angry about him defending you anymore as you took in the cuts and bumps he’d acquired from Seungmin beating him up. When you’d brought him to the nurse’s office, not a scratch on your body, he had mumbled “worth it” under his breath. Your head lowered, gaze falling to your laps as you fought back some tears, attempting to swallow a lump in your throat but alas to no success.
Minghao’s spare hand reached over, encasing one of your hands in its warm atmosphere as he gave your hand a reassuring squeeze. The closed nurse’s door muffled the crowds and crowds of yelling students outside, celebrating the start of spring break as the academic day ended.
“Let’s go get Korean barbeque, yeah?” He beamed as much as he could with his busted lip, causing a small smile to crawl on your face as you nodded, letting him raise you to your feet as he stood.
-
Tiredly, you watched as your classmates all bickered amongst themselves, throwing around poorly made paper airplanes as the girls applied their morning make-up. Minghao popped his chewing gum from the desk beside you and you turned your head to see him already staring. He smiled widely, his eyes creasing as you caught the piece of chewed gum between his teeth. You rolled your eyes, leaning back in your seat.
“Want to see a film after school today?” Minghao piped up, drumming his fingers on his desk as he rested his head in his other hand, keeping his eyes locked on you. You hummed, admiring your nails that were in much need of a cut.
“Depends what you’re dragging me to see.” You mused, glancing at him. He pursed his lips, looking away momentarily. His actions caused you to quirk a brow, the two of you had found it much easier to communicate with each other now but he was acting off again.
“Well,” he chuckled nervously as he too leaned back in his seat, “what we was going to watch was your choice.”
You paused, blinking as you stared at him. He smiled, passing you a bar of your favourite chocolate as he mumbled “don’t eat it all at once.” Slowly, you smiled back with a scoff.
“You’ll be the death of me, Hao.” You shook your head, taking the bar of chocolate from him.
“Before chocolate kills you off? Shocking.” He winked, turning towards the front of the classroom as your teacher entered. You seemed frozen on the spot, your eyes still on him as his wink played a gif in your head before you finally shook the scene from your mind and turned to face your teacher too.
-
“How much longer until you leave me alone, you’re annoying.” You sighed jokingly as you laid back on the grass, watching the clouds above you as they passed by. Minghao scoffed from beside you, where he was shoving his empty lunch containers back into his backpack.
“You’ll miss me really.” He mused, nudging your thigh playfully. You looked over at him, admiring his side profile as he searched his bag for an energy drink can he’d brought from the convenience store earlier.
“Yeah, I will.” You whispered, your eyes tracing his jawline and the shape of his nose as he tilted his head to look down at you. You smiled, listening as the rustling of his bag stopped.
“Don’t get soppy on me now.” Minghao teased, chuckling as you sat up, flattening your uniform’s skirt.
“I can be soppy if you want me to be.” You sneered, sticking your tongue out at him as the sun went behind the many clouds you’d been watching prior - there went your lunchtime sunbathing. Minghao clicked his tongue.
“I somehow don’t believe that you - y/n l/n - can be soppy.” He tapped his chin as if he was genuinely debating it and you scoffed, leaning over and pressing your lips to his. There was a stiff moment of neither of you knowing what to do - for a start you were simply an introvert, you’d never dated through out your entire time during education and you was about to finish it. Minghao however moulded easily against you, a hand threading through your hair at the back of your head as he kept you from leaving the kiss.
The soft pitter of raindrops fell against any sight of bare skin you were showing, leaving you to pull away from Minghao breathlessly as you looked up at the clouds, laughing lightly. The small drizzle fell heavier, beginning to soak your uniform as Minghao pinned you to the grass, beaming.
“Hao it’s raining!” You whined with a laugh as you looked up at him. He hummed, his eyes glazing over your face as raindrops fell onto your glasses.
“So?” He chuckled, leaning down to kiss you once more.
Unbeknownst to the pair of you, a figure stood in one of the many windows of the looming school building with a smile gracing her face at the scene before she turned on the heel to prepare the next class’ powerpoint slides.
-
Minghao’s hand grazed your leg, causing you to roll your eyes as you chewed the pen you was holding to your mouth.
“We’re supposed to be studying for these stupid exams.” You mumbled, your eyes tracing over the very same revision book you’d been memorising the day Minghao joined as an exchange student.
“We’ve got like three more weeks, baby,” Minghao grumbled, throwing his head back, “plus who is to say I can focus with my beautiful girlfriend next to me? C’mon at least take a break, you’ve been reading this book for an hour now.”
Sighing, you gave in to Minghao’s complaints and closed the revision book, watching as he grinned in your direction.
“Happy now?” You huffed, letting Minghao place a quick kiss on your lips before he shimmied off your bed.
“Yep, now come on I’ll order food.”

Ngl I just find it so funny if Danny just accidentally becomes friends with someone trying to rob him like-
___________________________________
“Get up!”
And he was up, hands above his head and everything. The guy in all black proceeded to pat him down along his pockets while pointing a gun at him otherwise.
“How do you not have a wallet on you?”
“I’m a college student, I can barely afford tuition.”
That’s a lie, he was on a full ride scholarship, but they didn’t need to know that.
“Oh you too?”
Did this bitch just say ‘you too’ ? No way.
“‘You too?’ Are you doing this to pay for college???”
Ancients, the school system sucked if he had to resort to crime for this.
“Yeah- you wouldn’t believe how expensive my major is, the textbooks alone cost more than my rent!”
“Holy shit, no kidding. Yeah, why are textbooks so expensive? Why am I paying hundreds of dollars for something that could have been a 2 dollar pdf?”
“Right! I tried asking my professor instead, but he said he’d fail me if I didn’t have the right materials! It’s driving me nuts. Like how am I supposed to pay for all this?”
How Dannt started making conversation with his own robber, he didn’t know, but he was happy to finally complain with someone. He hadn’t exactly made friends since he got here.
“Personally I buy used books, and the more trashed they are, the cheaper. Then, you can just use the pdf version but still have the textbook in class. It’s honestly so much easier. Or you can see if you can borrow it from the library and just bring it in for the classes he checks it, then return it after to avoid the fees. That option is a bit more troublesome though.”
“Oh shit, no way! That’s awesome, I never thought of that, thanks man! Man, I wish I talked to you sooner.”
“Yeah, it’s all good, maybe just avoid the crime after this? There’s tons of online jobs you can do during class and stuff. I don’t know, there’s always another option than crime. You sound like a good guy, just desperate.”
The robber turned friend (?) lowered his gun and sighed before returning the items in the bag to everyone. He then apologized to the cashier and then to everyone else before giving Danny a hug (how long had it been since he’d gotten one of those?) and leaving. Danny was so proud of him he almost cried (again).
______________
I know it's a bit weird and out of place, but that's bcs its a snippet from a fic I'm writing on ao3 😭
But still, I need more of Danny befriending ppl trying to jump/rob him

Sea Cryptic! Danny AU- Pt.4
[Pt.1] [Pt.2] [Pt.3][Pt.5][Pt.6][Pt.7]
Danny was sitting in the back, his backpack obnoxiously taking up the seat next to him, when the door to the lecture hall creaked open near silently.
“What are you in here for?” Danny asked the guy who crept into class. He sympathetically took his backpack off the Seat of Shame and allowed the guy to sit down. Funnily enough, they had the same hair and eye color.
“Gen Ed. Undecided. You?” The guy grunted quietly back.
“Environmental studies. I’m Danny.”
“Tim.”
With the implicit understanding of two people in a required class they could not give less than two fucks about, Tim and Danny tuned back into the lecture. When the class was assigned group work, Danny looked over to see Tim softly snoring, head slammed down on the table.
“Tim. Wake up, dude.” Danny poked his shoulder.
“Huh? Class over?”
“Nah, we got group work. Discussion board.”
“Oh shit, thanks for waking me up. Wanna team up?”
Danny shrugged. “Sure. We should aim to post it in the middle so the professor doesn’t read our answers to the class.”
“Yeah, sounds like a good idea. Any idea what we’re talking about?”
“Kind of?”
“Good enough for me.”
——
Tim Drake kept seeing Danny Fenton around on campus.
“Danny! Dude, what are you doing?”
Danny turned, gloved hands full of crumpled trash. “Picking up after the student population, apparently.”
“Didn’t think environmental studies was that serious.”
“Global warming is very serious, you jerk,” Danny smirked at him, crossing the grass to put the trash into the trash can. “Reduce, reuse, oil shouldn’t be spilled in water and all that.”
“Basic stuff,” Tim grinned. Nice, he basically had a friend past Bernard now!
They were friends, right?
“And yet humanity fails to comprehend it. Incredible. Incredibly stupid that is.”
“They get it. Major corporations just don’t care.”
Danny sighed. “True that. You on your way to your next class?” He took off his biodegradable gloves off (nitrile and nylon, baby!) and chucked them into the trash.
“I’ve got free time, actually. Prof cancelled for his daughter’s surgery.”
“Oh, shit, that’s rough! You wanna go downtown and join the strike?”
“A strike? What for?” Even as he asked, Tim hiked his bag higher onto his shoulder, ready to go. They fell into step as the two left campus.
“Apparently, Quillan Pharma was doing some shady shit at their manufacturing plants. I think it’s like killing kids, and pouring toxins into the ground.”
“Oh, shit.”
“Yeah. Oh! Poison Ivy’s gonna be there!”
Tim blinked. He casted a sideways look at Danny. Sure he’s been here long enough to know… but it couldn’t hurt to check. “You know she’s an eco-terrorist, right?”
“Okay, but like… people suck sometimes. And all she’s asking for is like don’t kill the planet. And she doesn’t do that whole mind control thing too much anymore! The Sirens are so cool. Plus, one of my best friends at home might actually kill me if I don’t try to get her autograph. Poison Ivy is like, Sam’s personal hero.”
Tim snickered. “Yeah, okay. Mind if one of my friends join? His name’s Bernard.”
“The more the merrier,” Danny nodded. “Ooo! Hot chocolate. Want some?”
Danny bought three drinks as Tim trailed behind, texting Bernard.
“He said yes.”
“Cool! We should meet up somewhere before the drinks get cold.”
Well, Danny got the autograph. Tim got a new friend, and Bernard got a drink from his crush.
——
“Oh, you’re the glowing dude that Batman always talks about!”
Danny blinked, eyes scanning the wing-like cape and the yellow emblem on the hero’s suit. Danny was indeed glowing, stars and nebulas freckling across neon green skin, and glowing hair the color of a white dwarf star, tinged with the blue from his ice core.
“I… have absolutely no idea who you are,” Danny lied, like a liar. He’s found a surprising niche of entertainment in messing with the local vigilantes and he’ll be damned if he missed this opportunity.
He heard a snicker from the comm lines as Red Robin visibly brushes it off.
“I’m Red Robin. Why are you picking up trash?”
“Picking up after you humans, apparently.”
The both of them blink, feeling a weird sense of déjà vu. A moment of awkward silence passed before they both shook it off.
“Are you here to help? No offense, but the track record for you people is terrible.” Danny strode over and grabbed a bag. He opened it, and shook it at Red Robin’s face. “See? Batarangs, these odd bird looking ones, the R’s. Seriously, pick up after yourselves!”
“Oh, woah, can we have these back?”
Danny yanked the bag back before Red Robin could get close. “Pay me. These were incredibly tedious to pick up. Especially the batarangs. I mean, I even found a whole bunch of old rusted ones in the middle of the bay. What did you do, dump an entire bag in there from the air?”
Red Robin sighed and took out a wad of cash, with tracking fluid all over it. Danny grimaced, smelling the odd scent on the money. “That’s not real cash. It smells off. Are you trying to give me counterfeits because you’re broke?”
Red Robin gaped, oddly offended. “No! They’re real!”
“Doesn’t smell like it. It’s stinkier than the trash. Go get the one with the money, the litterer. Tell him I’ll be back the next full moon. I don’t want to talk to you anymore.” Danny grumbled, disappearing on the spot to watch Red Robin flounder with the stack of cash and the piles of dead bodies on the shore.
“What the fuck even is my life these days?” Red Robin wondered out loud, stuffing the cash back into his pocket. He looked over the plastic wrapped bodies and slumped, sighing.
Oddly enough, Danny felt a sense of sympathy. Well, he’s not getting paid for sympathy. He’s not getting paid at all tonight, actually. Danny flew off, plunging once more into the depths of the significantly cleaner waters, and used his ice to scoop out oil stains.
Danny glanced around and sighed. He had a lot of work to do.
——
“So you’re saying he’s like a werewolf mermaid fae child immortal god thing, right?”
Bruce grunted.
“B, what the hell are you smoking these days? You know drugs are bad, right? Do we need Superman to give you that PSA?” Jason snickered.
Tim, massaging his arms from having to haul an ungodly amount of dead bodies, grunted. He’s so similar to Bruce that it gave the people currently in the cave hives.
“He said full moon. I don’t think we can track him with regular stuff. The bugs kept shorting out.”
“Oh boy,” Dick sighed. “Don’t fall off the spiral cliff, Tim. You’ve got midterms to think about so no stalking the guy.”
“Yet,” Tim shot back, changing out of his suit.
Bruce grunted, setting aside a huge stack of cash.
