Sigma spends all of his free time obsessing over his customers at the Sky Casino. Any medical issue or detail, he'll know about it and do his very best to accommodate you. He's very aware of your inability or unwillingness to speak, but that would not stop him from trying to communicate with you.
Scenario ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥
Mid-poker game, you started to feel a bit parched, and that feeling is what led you to the bar. You weren't exactly in the mood for anything else on the menu, so you settled on water. While the bartender catered to other customers, you grabbed one of the napkins and a pen, jotting down the letters. While you wrote it down, you could almost feel someone staring holes into the back of your head. You turned around, only to see no one in particular looking at you. You twisted back around, feeling a bit unsettled.
A couple seconds later, you're surprised to see someone appear next to you, completely disregarding all of the open seats. The man sits down, his long hair falling gracefully over his shoulders. He smiles before grabbing a napkin and a pen, scribbling onto the thin paper.
"I don't mean to be creepy or rude, but you look lovely. You're very good at poker, too." You read on the note. You smile a bit and nod, scribbling down a reply. "Thanks, I like your hair. It's a pretty color." You pass the paper back. The bartender brings you your water and you hesitate to get up, noticing the man scribbling down something else. "My name is Sigma, yours?"
You think for a minute, deciding whether or not you wanted to give your real name. This guy claims his name is Sigma, you've never heard such a ridiculous thing, but he was dressed nicely and seemed sweet. You grabbed the pen.
"Y/n. Do you talk? Sorry if that's rude lol" The paper is now back in his hands. You can see a smile appear on his face. Instead of grabbing the pen again, he nods. "Yes, I do. Would it make you more comfortable if I verbally talked to you?" He said with the tilt of his head. "I just know you don't, so I thought maybe you'd feel a little less alarmed by me, but I guess it makes me seem weirder." He says with a quiet and embarrassed chuckle, his deep voice throwing you off a little.
You had a lot of questions. How does this man know you can't/don't talk? Who gave him that whack ass haircut? Why was he so interested in you? Not that you really minded his company, but why? You decided to quickly sum up your thoughts, unfolding the napkin and writing gently, hoping the thin sheet wouldn't rip.
"Either is fine. Your voice is nice. How'd you know I don't speak? And what made you wanna come up to me?" He read it over and you could tell he was grateful for the compliment.
"Oh, thank you. I just know my customers very well and do my best to accommodate them. I feel like that's something a good manager should do. And I don't know, I just noticed you stepping away from the table and thought I should take the chance to voice my thoughts." He says, his voice firm as he makes continuous eye contact with you. He rests his head in one of his hands. You grab a new napkin, the original being filled up with conversation. The sound of the ink transferring from the ballpoint to the the napkin going unheard because of the noisy surrounding.
"That is, be careful though, some people might think you're a stalker. You seem like a good person to run this place. And that's very sweet of you, thank you." You slide the paper back over to him, taking a sip of your water. A couple of minutes ago, you were slightly off put by Sigmas presence, but you didn't mind it one bit now. You actually enjoyed it a little, it didn't feel awkward or uncomfortable like most conversations strangers strike up with you in public. Sigma let out a quiet chuckle, nodding.
"You're right, you're right. You're also very interesting. I would really love to talk to you more, do you think you'll return to the Sky Casino soon?" Sigma asks, a glimmer of hope in his eyes as he bites down on the inside of his cheek. He nervously watches you pick the pen up and scribble down a couple words.
"We've barley talked, but I absolutely plan on coming back. Do you want my number?" He reads the paper, nodding. Not too enthusiastically, but making sure he doesn't seem disinterested. You smile and write the numbers down clearly.
"###-###-####, if you message me I'll reply before I go to sleep, left my phone in my suite." With that, you continue sipping your water as you walk away from the bar. If you said you weren't feeling a little giddy you would be a big fat liar. You look around the casino, trying to decide what you wanted to do or play next, your heart a little warmer and your throat a little less dry.
------༉‧₊˚.
When returning to your casino suite, you were greeted with a dry and message-less phone. You thought perhaps Sigma had either blew you off or he was busy with his manager-ly duties. You brushed it off and practically fell asleep the second your head hit the pillow, drifting off into a dreamless rest.
The next morning, however, you received the message you were anticipating so highly.
"Hey, so sorry I didn't message until late. Would you like to go to get something to eat in the morning, maybe?" You smiled, typing out you're reply.
"Sounds good, when and where?"
Atsushi Nakajima !! ༉‧₊˚.
Atsushi is unaware at first, thinking you were just quiet and reserved, but once he's informed by Ranpo that you're infact mute, he actually tries to communicate with you more.
Scenario ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥
The sun shines through the windows of the ADA, hitting your back warmly. You filled out the papers you were given, neatly writing down words on a mission report. The soft singing of birds occasionally served as distractions, pulling your attention away and out the window. You're pulled out of your thoughts by the sound of the door opening, light footsteps walking through the open space.
Atsushi and Kyouka were in the middle of eating some donuts that they presumably bought for everyone in the ADA, considering the large quantity. They had two dozen donuts, including the ones in their hands.
"Hey, Y/N! Uhm, we have some donuts if you want some! There's a bunch of different kinds." Atsushi says, walking towards your desk with the donuts. This time around, Atsushi seemed far more confident when speaking to you. He proudly set the donuts on your desk with a few napkins, letting you have your pick. You picked out your two favorites of the flavors, setting them on the napkin and smiling up at him, giving him a small, appreciative nod.
Atsushi smiled back, his cheeks slightly pink. You both can hear the door open and turn back to see Ranpo and Yosano walking in, mid-conversation with each other. Ranpo almost immediately spots the boxes of donuts and double takes, making his way over.
"Oooo, these looks real good, Atsushi! Did ya get them from that new place down the street?* He asks, taking a bite of one of the donuts. "Oh, yeah. Kyouka wanted to try it." Kyouka nods in confirmation, humming in satisfaction with her strawberry-frosted donut. "Ohhh, and I see you worked up the courage to talk to y/n, too!" Ranpo giggles, pointing over at your donuts. Atsushi started to blush a bit more, his eyes averting to you at your desk.
You tilt your head curiously. Ranpo notices, deciding to answer the question he (correctly) assumed you had.
"Atsushi was all nervous to talk with you because he thought you didn't like interacting with everyone." You nod in understanding, softly laughing. Atsushi scratches the back of his neck in embarrassment. "Sorry, I hope that's not weird or nothin'." Atsushi mumbles.
You just shake your head, reassuring him that it's alright. You took a post-it from your desk and started scribbling down some writing before peeling it from the stack and passing it to him. He softly whispers the sentence aloud to himself.
"You can talk to me anytime, I don't bite. I think you're very cool." A smile appears on his face. "Thank you! That's very nice of you. I would compliment something about you, but I really don't know all that much. You look very nice, though. Maybe we could...y'know, set something up and get to know each other? Hang out?" He says, blushing as he looks anywhere but into your eyes.
You smile and nod, grabbing the post-it gently from his hands. You write down your phone number and put a little heart next to it, also writing down specific times you're going to be free within the next week. You hand back the paper to him and he smiled, nodding.
"Alright, I'm free friday night, too. Is there any other day you'd prefer more or..?" He asks, trying to ensure that friday night is the best option. You just shake you're head and mouth "No, Friday." He smiles "Alright, then it's...it's a date." He grins and makes his way back over to his desk, giggling and grinning like an idiot.

JK's Weverse live 2 Feb 2023
OMG OMG OMG.
JK man, what did you do to us?
4 hours of JK. 4 friggin' hours.
Before I dive into the abyss I will say that this post is based on multiple trustworthy translation accounts, seeing there is no official translation nor will there be for quite some time now (4 hr. live, lol). I will update if any changes need to be made (after the official translation comes out).
Also, This is a long ass post, so breach yourselves, get yourselves your favourite snacks sit down and enjoy the ride. So so much to come.
Starting with his:
Knock knock, cheeky JK.
Let's sum up the 4 hours of the live shall we:
JK did the live in Brunnan.
JK's hair is long.
JK loves Bammi.
JK talked about his tattoos.
JK drank more beer than I could ever in one seating. Or maybe even 2 or 3 or 4...(I am a lightweight though).
JK was tired and still continued the live.
JK isn't working on his album at the moment, he's at home not doing much, well not working in any case.
RM commented a lot.
Tae commented a lot and got JK to do a live on IG that turned out to be pretty short, just surpassing his 7 min. live a few days back.
JK sang. A LOT.
JK sang Vibe. Twice. After calling JM cool, then adding Taeyang is cool too. He also gave us a little dance move.
Ooh, and we got JK singing Sam Smith's Unholy.
That's 4 hours in a nut shell I guess.

We have tons to cover, so let's get it:
JK starts the live telling us he's not really supposed to be doing a live, I told you, cheeky boy.
Lol.
JK moves on to tell us he's not working on his album at the moment, and actually not doing much of anything at the moment.
I'm all for it. After 10 years of working practically non stop, throughout his youth, he deserves this time off.
JK does say he's spending time alone, at times hasn't left the house for 6 days in a row.
And as the introvert that he is, and as the introvert that I am, I get him. Totally. I could stay at home for days and feel totally content.
Doesn't mean he's not doing anything though. He's doing what he wants to do as opposed as living by a schedule. Taking the time to watch shows, videos, clips he wants to watch is one of those things he told us he does. I just do hope he's in a good mind space. The past couple of years were not easy. The not knowing not easy. Knowing MS is around the corner not easy. Jikook having to adjust to the new reality not easy. He needs this rest and I'm happy he's getting it.
Makes me think though about those stories told of him going out on the town like going skiing or snowboarding or spending time with Tae all the time (I literally have an ask in my inbox telling me just that). Dunno, perhaps it's time for many to finally start questioning these unsubstantiated stories?
Now don't come at me. Not saying JK and Tae aren't close friends. They might be both meeting up occasionally and/or playing online games together all day everyday. What I'm saying is that I'm sick of unsubstantiated stories someone sprouts on Twitter turned into facts without any actual proof.
And it's always the TKK side of things - believing until proven wrong. Because when the shoe is on the other foot, aka JKK, the knee jerk reaction is to not believe until proven true.
Just a thought...
After JK talks about how long his hair has grown, and damn, it has grown so long, Bam makes an appearance. Bammi. How we missed him so.
I truly think Bam deserves a whole post of his own, and I will give you one. I promise. Cause so many cute Bamkook moments, including a lethal Bam kiss.
JK's asked about Jin and says he thinks he's doing well and that he's in touch with them occasionally in their group chat. That same group chat many fans forget they actually have to communicate amongst themselves and not via their public IG accounts. That is when they don't communicate personally with each other privately.
JK brings up not seeing "Yoongi marry me".
Vibe.
Next JK started with the karaoke. We got to enjoy JK's flawless voice throughout his live. But he started us off with Vibe.
JK singing and dancing vibe on his live - all I've been living for the past couple of weeks, lol - singing it TWICE.

Saying that, JK with singing Vibe (do I have to remind he did it twice?) has now performed 7 of JM's songs while live or recording content.
JK continues to sing several songs by TXT, New Jeans, Seventeen, RM, etc. Like I said, karaoke night full blow (filling up the 4 hour live).

We had a little JK-Army flirtation going on, as per usual, lol.
Mr. Jeon Jungkook also thinks maybe he's the next to get appendicitis. I sure hope he's wrong.
And that at 25 yo he's getting old.- everything hurts. Why am I not surprised (man cannot do anything half way).
RM popped in to visit JK's live, a little drunk perhaps, lol.

Next comes the thing everyone has been literally waiting for...
The tattoos.
I know this will be twisted and turned and I feel sorry for the accounts with their anons open, cause this, not surprisingly, is turning into to a shit storm...
There are a few translations out there, most not full ones, and others pretty unreliable.
So, I'm still on the lookout for a reliable full translation for these. I've found a couple that feel like they have an agenda.
I did find this one, a full translation that seems to be more or less on the up and up - lines up with all the bits and pieces I've found in the accounts I do trust.

One specific tattoo JK neglects to talk about is the eclipse tattoo. Unintentional you think? I think not.
So, let's get down to what we really came for, eh? His hand tattoo. The talk of the town.
I know JK said the J is for JK. JK and Army.
Loud and clear, right?
But is it?
Is JK sharing the whole story with us?
Why then on the ring finger?
Why over the M?
Why not allow anything come between the two?
Also funny, as @jaksal pointed out, how for JM's birthday in 2021 for some reason the J and M were kept apart, distanced, quite like the J and M on JK's finger. Apart but not parted (mostly).
Another question I can't help but ask is since when does J stand for JK? Really. Please tell me when was the first or last time JK ever referred to himself as J.
Jungkook calls himself JK. He is referred to by others as JK. When he writes his name in Roman letters he writes JK. Never J.
On top of that, why not put the J over the A? Would make more sense, J + Army from the start...
And if he decided to put the crown over the A, which he did, then why not put the J over any other finger other than the actual ring finger that happened to make a lovely clear and constantly touched up and darkened JM?
Could JK share the whole story with us even if he really wanted to?
JK in essence debunked the story that Army were living for since 2019 - that Army with the J stood for all the 7 members of BTS. The A inverted standing for V.
Yes, he said the J is for JK, but could he say he added the J on his ring finger over the M to make JM? The only one out of all of the members he decided to tattoo onto his skin, have on his hand for all to see?
Telling us J over the M on his ring finger stood for JM would be literally outing the two as a queer couple. No ifs ands or buts.
And you can't say the same about him telling us army is army. Because admitting army was for all the members wouldn't put him in a queer relationship with one of the members, all while having JM on his ring finger would seal the deal on that.
So what did JK do talking about his tattoos? He omitted the JM, and the eclipse - the two specific known tattoos that can link him directly to JM (and if the eclipse had nothing to do with JM why not talk about it too?).
Oh, and I know what comes next -
Being asked "are you calling him a liar?"
Heck no.
But telling a necessary untruth, or embellishing the truth, or omitting some facts, or perhaps the right way of seeing it is giving us the acceptable excuse.
Nope. Not lying. But all the above... yeah, that.
Seriously, take a second to think clearly. What was he supposed to do? Really? Admit that the J and M are connected and mean JM?
I've been seeing people talking about how JK didn't realise what he was doing. That he didn't see the placement came out like JM. Please give me a break. Do they really have such low regard for JK?

Wouldn't realise the J placed over the M makes JM - Jimin. Ha-ha-ha.
With or without the next paragraph, JK knew what he was doing.
But if we do trust this specific translation, JK points out that he placed the crown over the A. Thoughtfully. Intentionally. Do we really think he wouldn't have had the same thought process with the J?
Please don't insult JK's intelligence.

And if you are even interested to know what my 21 yo army non Jikooker daughter's reaction was to the whole Army and J tattoo explanation (you're getting either way)...same daughter that told me the army stood for all members and we argued about it many a times.

So, if I haven't made myself clear by now I'll say it once more with feeling:
The combination of the J and the M on JK's ring finger stands for JM.
Again, I don't think JK is lying. But he's omitting.
The J could definitley be there to not only mean JM but him as well, which would make it even more romantic, if you will. The J and the M, JK and JM marked on his ring finger. If that's not commitment idk what is.

When you are asking to have a live but then reduced to play with the filters cause the convo, it just ain't flowing, all to end the live after around 10 minutes (I think only around half of that was them talking to each other)...
I'd say reach your own conclusions.
The apartment
Before moving on let's talk a little about the apartment shall we?
We know who is on the lease of Brunnan.
We know it's furnished with some of the dorm's furniture (I'm not 100% sure, but that lounge sure looked like the dorm lounge).
Walls bare.
Clothes rack empty.
What looked like his coat maybe lying on the lounge next to him.
This time he was prepared with a chilled beer glass (after the tea cup wine drinking debacle, lol).
Let's get real here.
Could he be living there? Sure he could. Spending days on end in a bare, cold, lifeless apartment with zero character.
Could he be living elsewhere, let's say somewhere where we aren't even shown anything other than the tv screen? Sure he could. But not on paper. Not officially.
Could two grown men that literally aren't allowed to be in a queer relationship starting the second they enlist need to have official/public known separate addresses, and perhaps there is another place, kept secret, where they can spend most of their time together their privacy guaranteed? Knowing there are still queer couples in SK that live that way, my answer to that will be yes.
Do we know for sure? Heck no. And that, my friends, is the whole idea. We're not supposed to know, as much as our curiosity kills us.

Your blog is a literal god send for me, I’ve been feeling so depressed, pessimistic, nihilistic and cynical at the state of the world right now and my fear of if I even have a future, but your blog is absolutely what I needed right now, so I can’t thank you enough. I’m just so happy to see someone who is hopeful and positive and not pessimistic, and it makes me legit want to cry tears of joy. How are you able to stay so positive and optimistic despite everything going on?

As for how I stay optimistic and relatively positive? Lots of effort and hard work.
I'm not naturally an optimist. I spent most of my life (and certainly my adolescence lol) being pretty angry and cynical.
It's not that I never feel depressed or despairing about the state of the world. There's fucked up shit happening, indisputably, and hey, I'm trans, it's been a rough fucking year for that. But I guess I try to focus on the difference between passing moods and baseline worldview.
Some of the main ways I moved my baseline worldview to be optimistic and hopeful:
A lot of reading and looking at data and in-depth stories. The headlines never give you enough of the story - hell, most news articles don't these days, because they're so skewed toward negative news
Especially reading/looking at good news sites (I have a masterpost of good news sites here). There are good things happening everywhere that you never hear about. Mostly, you only ever hear about the good things when there's been a huge setback, which sucks!
I'm basically not on social media. Nothing except Tumblr, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and I only ever go on FB and linkedin briefly for business. It's fantastic, can't recommend ditching social media enough
I made sure I was doing something to help (aka I started this blog. I would also volunteer but my disabilities and a lot of logistics make that complicated)
My job involves reading a couple dozen self-help books a year lol, not gonna lie that def helps
Taking a long perspective of time. It often doesn't feel like it, but statistically, this really is the best time to be alive. (Here's a fantastic essay about many of the reasons why.) People really gloss over how much most of the past kinda fucking sucked to live in. 50% of all people used to die before their 15th birthday, for basically all of history until the past 200 years!! Imagine having to live with that. Imagine all of that pain and grief literally everywhere. I'm really happy about living in modern times, actually!
That last point is esp helpful to remember for me because I'm 100% for sure on the list of "people who would've died in childbirth" pre modern medicine (and my mom would've died having me, too). It was modern times or nothing lol
The vast majority of the world has spent the past 300 to 500 years being absolutely brutalized by white people and/or the West. There's still a lot of fallout to fix and colonialism to uproot, but I genuinely can't wait to see what people and nations will achieve with sustained self-rule and significantly fewer massive atrocities
Solarpunk and hopepunk stuff
I'm gonna make a whole post about this at some point but the fact that we eliminated scarcity in the past few decades actually changes the entire fucking game for the world (literally it's not a zero sum game anymore) and for the future. We're allowed a bit of a learning curve I think
I listen to the Rent soundtrack a lot and go "well you know what being trans right now sucks but being trans at the height of the aids crisis would've been way fucking worse" lol rip
Meds! Meds. Antidepressants and antianxiety meds unfortunately don't work for everyone (yet!), but also thank fuck for meds
Progress almost always happens in slow, tiny increments, with a lot of stops and starts and setbacks. You have to always remember that there are always people fighting somewhere, and if they're stopped, there will always be more people to pick up the fight in the future

Below are some ramblings about a panel from the Younger Cousin arc (chapters 113-116), so if you haven't read it and don't want to be spoiled (though I don't really discuss the plot), don't read this.
Okay I've been wanting to talk about this because ever since I read this it's been like circling like a record 'round the spindle of my mind, so to speak, lol. This is right after the bit that Joelle made a post about, which really sums up my thoughts about the mood of this entire exchange, pretty much. Especially "#THE. ABSOLUTE HANGDOGNESS. THE REFUSAL TO LOOK AT US [...] #'no i couldnt keep up my family's grudge against a family i also genuinely hate i didnt have the backbone u__________u'." But what really gets me about this particular line of Natori's is that he drops this right after having seemingly finished telling Natsume about his relationship to the Matoba clan. He's like "No, I don't have any beef with them now, I get job assignments from them even, etc etc. Well, now we've figured out the secret even though it took a while..." and then we get the above panel, which for me is a little difficult to translate naturally in English while still retaining the nuances which make it hit so hard to me, so I'll provide a very rough translation just so you can get the idea. The most surface level and clunky reading of what he's saying is basically
"Did you see something that seemed like this deserted house and the industry leader are opposed to each other?"
Obviously, he's talking about himself and the Matobas, but instead of saying it more directly, like 「私と的場一門」 ("me and the Matoba clan") or 「うちと的場一門」 ("me and the Matoba clan" but with a different pronoun that can refer to one's family), he uses さびれたうち to refer to himself and 業界最大手 to refer to the Matobas. 業界最大手 is pretty straightforward, it means the number one company in an industry basically. さびれたうち does mean abandoned or deserted house, but うち as you may have noticed can also be used as a first person pronoun (most commonly by women but it is used by men in certain situations, and both Matoba and Natori have used it). It refers to one's family or house, which is usually when Matoba and Natori will use it. When they're talking about their family or something like that, the text will read 的場 (Matoba) or 名取 (Natori) but the furigana will say うち. So here, Natori is using うち to refer to himself/the Natori family, but he's marking it as an abandoned house, in comparison to Matoba's industry leader.
Overall I guess this isn't the most deep or crazy thing ever, but something about the way he chose to say it like that, like "Did you see anything that made it seem like this abandoned house (me) and the industry leader (the Matobas) are in opposition?" really highlights his mindset to me. Even though he's still determined to make his own way as an exorcist, he's painfully aware of this power differential, and maybe he feels some shame or conflict about the fact that he relies on the Matobas; he couldn't keep up the feud if he wanted to. It's not possible.
He says it with his back turned, and it just comes out; it feels like it's been weighing on him, and before Natsume can even say anything, he apologizes and is like "sorry, that was a weird thing to say." It really does feel like he had been holding it in and it just slipped out.

9. Do you have a specific lyric or quote which you associate with your OC?
I've never landed on a specific one, but Jane Austen's Emma is one of my character inspos for Isabel; this one really speaks to 1: how hard she fell for Ominis, 2: how instantaneous it was even if she took forever to act on it and 3: her classic impulsivity. Luckily, unlike Emma, she did not need to feel jealousy to realize her feelings.

13. If you met your OC, would the two of you get along?
Isabel is actually one of the few OC's I've ever had that I would actually get along with! I wouldn't really enjoy her impulsivity either if I were around her as much as her friends/family, but that's because it's a quality of mine I dislike that I project onto her lol.
14. How does your OC want to be seen by other characters?
OOH I like this one. It kinda depends I guess, but across the board she just wants to be seen as the perfect Victorian/Edwardian girlboss: mother, business owner, wifey, ad hoc auror and all-around magical badass. On one end of the spectrum, she wants to be seen as a legitimate threat to her family in-law if they ever try messing with her or her husband/kids. On the other end, she wants to be seen as conventionally docile and sweet to her muggle friends. Vanessa Gekko, from Bojack Horseman, is also one of her character inspirations for me in her adult years and sums her up pretty well. Overall, she really just wants some recognition for all the work she's put into her job(s), her marriage, the social life she upholds around muggles, and her children. How much of that recognition she actually gets depends greatly from person to person.
23. What emotion is the hardest for your OC to process? How about express?
Man, now I gotta really think. So as an adult, her boggart takes the shape of a funeral for Ominis after a (fictional) untimely death because her fear of loneliness/isolation can be crippling. She doesn't like to be alone with her thoughts too often because she deeply fears what lurks beneath the surface: the same part of her that uses dark magic. Thinking about what she might have done without Ominis in her life legitimately scares her.
As for the hardest to express, hmmmmmmm probablyyy feelings of self doubt or just any feelings around needing help. Sorta like those straight white dudes who can't stand asking for directions lol. Isabel feels like she's built herself up at this total girlboss to the point that she really struggles with so much as asking Mara/Natty to stay with them during WWII even though bombs are literally being dropped outside their house. Ominis wants the opportunity to protect and emotionally provide for her too, but she rarely gives him the opportunity without even realizing what she's doing, and it hurts him even if he doesn't really have the words for that hurt.
24. What is an alternative life path your OC might have gone down? How different would their life be if they'd made those decisions?

So the biggest one that sticks out to me is if Ominis, his past, and the Gaunts were just too much and she broke up with him here (yes it breaks my heart to even consider it). If she had not married Ominis, she would have gone on to be a cursebreaker for Gringotts while one of her siblings took the family business she canonically inherits. She would have likely married a handsome auror or a fellow cursebreaker, had a couple kids and ultimately died doing what she loved while on a cursebreaking assignment at some point in her 70s/80s. He wouldn't be a perfect husband, but she's not exactly perfect wife material either, even in her canon timeline. Their marriage would be fine, just not stellar. Intimacy would definitely be a low point and they'd end up emotionally drifting apart over the years.
Isabel would have a little jewelry box of letters and memories from her school days, including all the little trinkets Ominis gifted her and a skipping stone from their favorite spot on the black lake. Later in life, when she and her husband were drifting apart, she would get this box out with increasing frequency and just sift through all the little notes he gave her. It would be very difficult for her to even remember what he looked like at this point, but she would always remember the letters and gifts. Her favorite would always be a short note inviting her to one of their many dates to Hogsmeade for an afternoon at Honeyduke's and the Three Broomsticks. It was written very formally and in slightly shaky handwriting, indicating some nervousness.
Of course, by this point she's in her 50s, which means he's dead; he would have married a cousin and have been killed in some quarrel, either with his wife or another family member. Because it would have been pretty awkward to keep hanging around Sebastian, Mara, Anne, etc. after breaking up with Ominis, she didn't keep in much contact with the group aside from a letter to Natty once in a while. She would never know exactly how or when he died and would have gone years after his death pondering all the reasons why she never got a response to the owl she finally decided to send him.
Ominis would have never forgotten Isabel. His heart would have ached for her from the day they broke up to his wedding day, to the day he learned he was a father, to the day he died. Breaking up with Isabel would have easily been his biggest regret in life.
I could be especially malicious and say she finally worked up the nerve to send him an owl asking how he was doing and if they'd like to meet again for old times' sake mere weeks after he died. :)

(I am answering the questions about Auva, my obey me MC. She is a 20 year old human. Aroace. Loves her seven weirdos so damn much. Aaaaand that about sums her up lol)
Question 2: Do they have a nickname?
Yes, she’s got a whole collection of nicknames! Each of the seven bros call her something different. I guess it’s more accurate to call them pet names rather than nicknames, but what’s really the difference lol
“The baby” is a common one, from Mammon and Beel usually but the others all use this one too every so often. Mostly to make fun of her, but she doesn’t mind. Like they’ll ask each other “where’s the baby” referring to her, and “how could you say that to the baby?!” Etc etc lol
- Mammon is the main one with the “baby” allegations, though “gremlin” and “nerd” and “dummy” and “loser” are all also pretty common from him. All affectionate! She has been diagnosed with baby, he insists. “Human” is the other very common one, that might as well be her name to him. Mammon only uses her name in particularly serious or soft situations.
- Levi’s not exactly big on the nicknames, but he does refer to her as his player two and his Henry very often.
- Beel usually uses her name, but pre-belphie jailbreak he would occasionally call her “bug”. Sometimes, it’s “little bug”. When questioned, Beel just kinda shrugged and said “I like bugs. And I like you. Both are small.” and that was that, apparently. (The way they all talk about her, you’d think she’s so short, but no. She’s 5’7”. It’s just that they’re all taller than her. And older. And she doesn’t mind being babied in this particular way, so she doesn’t bother to stop them.) Post-jailbreak, Beel adopted Belphie’s nickname for her, and started using that one slightly more often than bug.
- Asmo uses nicknames for everyone, and he’s got a whole roster. He uses “hon” and “sweetie” and “darling” and such like punctuation. He really seems to mean it when he’s talking to Auva, though. “Lovely” is one that seems to be just for her.
- Satan aligns with Beel on the frequency of nickname use, so usually just uses her name. If he does call her something else, then it’s “love” or “darling”. He likes the classics.
- Belphie uses her real name more than Mammon and Asmo do, but less than Beel and Satan—and DEFINITELY less than Levi and Lucifer. He calls her mouse, or sometimes mousie. It comes from that period of time a handful of weeks post-jailbreak (and homicide/revival/time travel situation) when Auva was still afraid of him but working hard on trying not to be, because she was sick of it. She had come up with and executed a self-assigned exposure therapy/desensitization plan. She would approach Belphie, shaking like a leaf but still determined, and gradually get closer, more comfortable. He would respond to that with understanding and gratitude, carefully remaining chill and gentle and reassuring. “Brave little mouse”, he commented, when she first got to the point of being comfortable enough to hug him. Intending it to express his understanding of how scary this is, how much stronger than her he knows he is, how threatening he knows that must be, how awed and grateful he is at her determination to be his friend anyway. They think very similarly, so she understood what he meant. Took it as the praise it was meant to be. Brave little mouse indeed.
- The nickname stuck. She is Mouse, to Belphie. Beel adopted that nickname for her too, because he thinks it’s fitting and cute.
- Lucifer is about as big on nicknames as Levi is. Which is to say, not at all. Still, though, very sparingly he’ll drop one. “Little one”, usually. Or “my dear” or “little star”, because Auva is named after a star. It’s in Virgo. (I did that because MY name, Adhara, is also a star! It’s in Canis Major) Belphie occasionally steals that nickname from Lucifer, too. It’s one of the only things he’ll admit to agreeing with him about lol

ok b4 i make these damn credit requests n send reports to customers i gotta write a bit of testicles philosophy that's been clankin around inside my cranium for a while. if u don't wanna read bout stuff like this pls scroll by but if u do pls bear with me while i talk about an incredibly sensitive topic that's almost impossible to tackle with any level of seriousness due to the Absurdity of transness
so im gettin neutered in 2,5 weeks. this has been a long time comin n now it's suddenly crystalized into a tangible date that's rly close (close enough that it alrdy caused sum Despair n schedulin stress on my part cuz im a anxious scaredy cat (sorry n thank u<3)). this is a huge fuckin deal. i've had dysphoria bout these guys for as long as i can fuckin remember. i'm nowadays pretty ok w/ havin a dick, but the accessories r abysmal n need to go.
first things first, they're uncomfortable. anyone who has some will attest that life w/ balls is at best bearable (mens underwear n pants leave a lot of space for convenience) n at worst horrid n painful (to safekeep reproductive capabilities they're equipped w/ a frankly ludicrous amount of nerve endings). i'm in almost a constant state of mild-to-severe discomfort cuz i'm very dysphorically aware of them at most times, like rn. they're always moving around no matter how well secured in place n the more u secure them in place the more uncomfortable it can get. n Adjusting their position especially in public no matter how stealthy i am about it makes me feel like some kind of a pervert cuz well i AM grabbing n moving my junk around. ugh. so this is very much a dysphoric "THIS BODY PART DOESNT BELONG" type situation.
secondly, i do NOT want to reproduce, especially not via inseminating someone. that's a horrid thought n makes me feel like some kind of a gigeresque parasite-spewing breeding maschine. note: this is a Personal Feeling, making n having babies is a perfectly normal thing to want to do. but i do not have the need to do it via my own biology.
third, FORM FACTOR. fuckin gods i own so many pieces of clothing that will finally fit nicely when im free of the two pain orbs attached near a very critical part of pants n underwear. i've looked at n adored how pants fit ppl without this kind of junk in the way forever n been so so envious even b4 i had the language to describe it. i rly hope it's as comfortable as i imagine it.
fourthly, i kno it's not a requirement to be an androgynous person to lack reproductive ability, but shit fuck godsdamn it, it will help with the feeling. kinda like how changin my legal gender was altogether very unimpactful (as it should be tbh...), but gave me self-confidence n entitlement in my identity. the idea of being physically something between genders is amazing n freeing as hell. masculinity has weighed heavy on my shoulders n this'll take some of the load off. stop giggling
fifth n final point that i have in mind rn: i can stop takin fucking spironolactone!!!!!!!! im convinced just this will be a huge quality of life improvement, i'm so dried up it's crazy. i piss like every couple of hours n my lower lip has been chapped af for weeks. t1d dries u up already i rly don't need an additional drug doing that. plus i'm p sure spiro has some side effects goin that i'm not even aware of but i'm eager to find out what changes.
all in all this is HUGE. i'm gonna probs cope w/ the wait w/ a lot of humor n some of this humor will make me more dysphoric (dysphoria has been growing the whole winter) but pls bear with my ballsposting soon i'll stop talking about them forever and i rly have NOT mentioned the guys ever cuz of the dysphoria so final chance to say goodbye i guess? lol. anyway gotta work now bye hope this was somehow revelatory re: my feelings w/ this whole issue for those of u who r for some reason interested in the general genital situation lmao

Can I ask why you love the Marauders and not James? I’m a Marauders skeptic myself (all four), just curious as to why James over the others.

I do bash the Marauders, a lot, but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate their characters. I already love all of them (besides James obvs), but I don’t think they’re above all criticism. The difference between James and Sirius, Remus, and Peter, is that they’re actual characters. They aren’t just plot devices with 0.2 seconds of screen-time and no compelling backstories. I answered an ask about James (and Severus), a pretty funny one if I do say so myself, and I think this part explains my feelings on Jim-Jam perfectly:
I’m not asking you. Not really. I mean, you might consider it hypocritical if you don’t actually understand what made James’s character completely dilapidated for me.
James is, an awful character. Awful as in morally? Maybe, but I’ve loved worse characters before. Awful as in his character is awfully-written? Yes. Even if Severus was worse than James as a person, I would still love him and hate James. You know why? Because Severus’s character is interesting, because Severus’s character is relevant, because his character is genuinely enjoyable to read. James is none of those things (at least to me).
Not only is James a shitty person whose scenes all show him in an exceedingly unpleasant light, but he isn’t even a well-written character. I literally love Voldemort and Bellatrix for god’s sake. Are they undoubtedly worse than James? Obviously. But they’re interesting characters with compelling origin stories/backstories and, in my eyes, that “makes up for” their shittiness. I also love James’s best friend (all of them actually), Sirius, I think he sucks as a person but his character is complicated and brilliantly-written—that’s why I’m capable of “looking past” his awfulness. James has nothing to make up for it; he’s not funny, he’s not enjoyable, he’s quite frankly just as intriguing as watching paint dry, and he was dead a decade before the series even began. He’s practically just a plot device—he’s known as “Harry Potter’s dad,” “Sirius and Remus’s best friend,” “Snape’s bully,” but we never actually get to see his character being explored. He served no purpose in the story besides giving both Severus and Harry traumatic backstories.
The other Marauders are interesting and loveable enough for me to “look past” their shittiness. Other than being intriguing and complicated, each of them have traits that I enjoy: Remus is my babygirl and I would die for him kind-hearted and cares for Harry, Sirius is immensely loyal and would go to great lengths to protect Harry, Peter has a lot of potential for a brilliant character despite little of what we know of him and he’s such a slay for betraying Furry-Prongs. They’re humorous, not one-dimensional, and I always want to know more about them whenever they’re on screen. I don’t feel that way about James and I never will.
So I guess that sums it up lol. Hope my answer managed to explain it well.

a.n. i'm sorry in advanced if absolutely nothing makes sense :P kye's lore is all over the place that honestly can be summed up to "wait a minute…. i'm not supposed to be here :jori: erm- anywaysss—". but yeah, here's a lil behind the scenes of kye and some of her lore??? also i made a post about her lore a while ago but deleted it since i wanted to update her lore a bit and i didn't like the way i wrote it. so if you saw that post, no you didn't :)

first two designs were made in 2021 and 2022 respectfully, most recent design was made 2023
i pretty much redesigned kye like every year lol- but i'm pretty happy with her design now so it's been (kinda) finalized after 2 years. the purple/lavender mostly has to do with combining all of the gray raven members' signature colors (for liv i used white rather than pink since i don't really know how to use magenta properly :'))). her most recent design is a bit more monochromatic than her previous designs due to kinda wanting to stick close to the canon skk design while also putting my "small" twist on it. also the template i used for the most recent design was a template i made for a different oc so i might need to update the ref to match with her current body shape :')

no.006 // the key characteristic of what made her "different" was the gemstone infused into her body. thankfully, the gemstone was located at her stomach, so even if she wanted to keep it in her, at least it wasn't visible to the public eye. however, she insisted on surgically removing the stone herself, knowing well that even a slight crack in the stone will lead to a slow and painful death. surprisingly, she was able to remove it perfectly in one piece, which does bring into question how she was able to execute it so well for it being her first time doing so

Different anon: I don't even think Mofftiss were necessarily high on their own farts, I think TFP and a lot of S4 were actual genuine malice on their parts towards the fandom for...liking the thing they made so much, I guess. It just made such a *mockery* of so many important things. The Redbeard retcon is one I'm deeply bitter about as a dog person who identifies with Sherlock; their desire to act like "magic madwoman in an attic" is a groundbreaking concept that Eyre didn't already do WAY BETTER AND LESS SEXIST; the "ha ha John was going to cheat with the GIRL Holmes"; the "you identify with these men and their story? haha who you are doesn't matter". Never mind the nonsensical writing choices, even. It just seems so outright *nasty* and calculated to be cruel when one knows how aware of the fandom they were. I can't give them enough competence credit to believe they could pull off any of the S4 Wasn't Real type theories, but god, thank god for the fandom pretty much discarding the series.
Anyway, the show ended with TAB in my heart, and we'll always have Apple Tree Hill or whatever that other show was called...

Ah, yes, EXACTLY, I think you've kind of summed up my feelings on the matter... I still remain... 10%?... hopeful that they really did fuck up the season on purpose because it's meant to be fake, but yeah, it's REALLY hard for me to not see it as anything other than pettiness towards a fandom that "guessed" the plot to TAB,, so in retaliation made S4 SO wacky, thinking that it's BAD writing if people can figure out where it's going (hint: it's NOT) so instead just eff it all up for the sake of a Shyamalan Twist. I agree with you with how cruel and nasty it feels looking at it that way.
LOL Yeah, TAB was sort of the end for me as well... I love TAB and my blog wouldn't be where it is today without TAB, so I have a soft spot in my heart for it. AND LOL APPLE TREE HILL wow what a time that was oof.

Uni student. Communication and media studies with a minor in musicology. Though I'm not taking any musicology classes rn and plan to change that to art-media-aesthetic education next semester
If you could go back to school, would you?
Depends. If it's the school I went to from grade 5-10? Hell no. Some of my experiences there were funny looking back but the place was kind of a hellhole. But the school I did my Abitur at? Sure, why not. It was very art and design oriented so the people there were pretty chill and I had some fun classes.

I can't even drive lmao
A job you had that would surprise people?
Well the only job I ever really had was a minijob at a distribution center where I packed boxes for about three years. Which I'd say is a pretty basic job for a uni student so there's nothing really surprising on my resume yet
Though I guess some people might be surprised that I studied biology for a bit before switching to something more media related?
Do you think aliens are real?
That kind of depends on the definition of "aliens" here. Do I think there's life on other planets, however small it may be? Absolutely. I think it'd be more unrealistic to expect that there is not a single other planet with at least some microorganisms in the entire universe. Intelligent life though? Not sure. The universe is huge so I wouldn't count it out but if other intelligent life is out there, I don't think we'll ever find it.
Can you drive a manual car?

I don't really have one. If I like something, I like it, nothing guilty about that. I think with the kinda hellhole school I went to, I learned pretty quickly that sometimes you just have to be yourself and the people who don't like that can just stay the hell away from you lol

My favorite band ever is BMTH, my current #1 kpop group is Ateez and my favorite singers are DPR Ian and Crywolf and I actually think that sums up my taste in music pretty well haha

What movies do you adore?
Movies are much like music for me, I'm not really picky about genres. If it keeps me entertained I like it and I'm pretty easily entertained haha. But I'd have to say my favorite movies are The Fifth Element and Scream (the 1996 one ofc). I'm also a big fan of the Halloween movies but I don't think I really have a favorite one out of those.
Coffee or tea?
Tea all the way. I like coffee too but if I had to choose I'd pick tea every time.
First thing you wanted to be growing up?
Hmm, I went through a couple of different dream jobs as a kid but the first thing I remember wanting to be was a fashion designer haha

Most favorite activity?
This is so hard. I love so many things. I guess my best effort to sum a lot of things up would be "hoarding and organizing information in my notebooks), a beloved pastime from about age six to now lol.
2. Least favorite one?
Either brushing my teeth or touching wet dirty sink dishes while needing to hand wash them or load a dishwasher.
3. One activity you really hate?
I've been trying to think of one but I'm drawing a blank. I guess cleaning dog poop out of my shoes after someone has left dog poop on the sidewalk or another walkway.
6. Do you have any idols?
Nah I don't go in for that these days. I definitely have some people I admire or look up to. Not to any level I'd say idols though.

Dance! I love all types of genres but I listen most often to dance music.

Hmm. AFRAID of...jellyfish.

Nah, at least not on our planet. But I don't think we're particularly high among all species, I think we're just particularly unique.

As a weird subjective phenomenon some of us experience in our lives? For sure. As "ghosts are the unfinished-business spirits of human dead people", no.
25. Can you dance? Is there any dance you want to learn someday?
Not well anymore, but I'm working on it. I was in love with ballet and wanted to do it forever. I'd like to get back into ballet classes, for adults this time. It's still the way my body most wants to dance. I took a ballroom dancing course for a hot minute. We were allowed to do swing dances when I was homeschooled, so I got pretty good at swing dance and some swing dance tricks.
29. Good memory from your childhood you keep remembering?
The first time I saw a snake in real life and it was a woman in public wearing a snake while walking down the street and she didn't get mad I was interested, she totally treated me like a Small Human Being and answered my questions and LET ME HOLD AND PLAY WITH IT MYSELF. I was like 7 and this was a core memory for me, much to the horror of my poor family members who were with me at the time when I dead-stopped us all in a state we didn't live in in a city we didn't know to talk to a strange woman and bond with her over a huge larger-than-adult-size-feather-boa-scarves snake lmao.
52. Do you think there are some breathing beings on earth contained behind ceilings or walking amongst us somehow with special abilities or powers? (as in most sci-fi and fantasy books, comics, movies)

60. If you would have the money to donate what would you donate for?
Oh god I literally have a list about this! I'd donate all over the place, but the first few donations would definitely be to a few grassroots charities I care about and the all the local food pantries and education nonprofits that I can.
63. On your opinion, what should people do about climate change?
Force industry regulations, despite all the kicking and screaming the firms and their political-system lobby groups will throw at all of us about it.
Create a fast-moving national campaign of interconnected state and local ecosystem experts that can partner with local landowners all over their area and any municipalities they can convince to help to rewild as much land as possible with the actually-native plants. MOST PRIMARILY IN THE BREAD BASKET. The soil has GOT to be replenished, and the native grasses store at minimum roughly two times as much carbon underground than any of the cash crops or hay or weed grasses do.
Seriously invest right now, immediately, right away, in any adaptations your area will need to make in order to cope better with the changing and intensifying storms, floods, water level rises, droughts, wildfires, deep freezes, heat waves, etc., anything and everything that your area will for certain have eventually impact it.
End unethical overseas labor systems and the cobalt mining/electronics burning/etc. markets that exist because of the inequity and greed at every level and continual corruption not being overthrown.
Drastically reduce all western meat culture and industrial farming to the normal, sustainable levels of meat eating human families averaged until the very recent past.
Actually stop the driving forces behind systemic mistrust, conspiracy rabbit holes, and succeptibility to misinformation.
And do anything possible to slow tropical deforestation and invest in antibiotic research as fast and effectively as possible. We're already far behind the enemy because it hasn't been profitable to research antibiotics in the eyes of the pharmaceutical companies. With the climate and ecosystem shifts, we're going to have a wild ride with both insect bugs and bacteria bugs, I'm sure.
76. What’s the most romantic thing you ever have done for someone?
Oh man, I can't answer this one, I'm sorry. It's not that I wouldn't like to, I just don't know if I've ever tried to do something truly romantic, because I'm still not sure I understand what romantic most accurately means, so I'll have to get back to you on this one.
95. What’s something you really want to do some day with your/a partner?
I never thought about this until you asked it just now. I guess...maybe...............go overseas and explore some part of another country? My brain keeps giving me blanks, I don't know if it knows how to think about this yet. I'll keep working on it. But it does sound fun to go with a partner on a sort of few-places trip of random interest events or something.

CURRENTLY WATCHING: catching up on abbott elementary since i had been watching it with my roommate and then she moved away a year ago and i never started the second season lol; two episodes into the thai gl show me love which so far is mediocre but still watchable; about to do an over the garden wall seasonal rewatch; and almost certainly going to try the fall of the house of usher when it drops because i apparently can't stay away from mike flanagan shows. oh also the wnba finals and the end of the nwsl season!
LAST MOVIE: this is a great question and i have absolutely no recollection, i think i've only been watching tv and sports and short films recently? does the filmed version of the 2019 public theatre production of much ado about nothing in central park starring danielle brooks count as a movie?? if not then i guess i haven't watched a movie in months!
CURRENTLY READING: i'm rereading squee from the margins: race and fandom by dr. rukmini pande, which is absolutely essential reading if you are interested in racism in fandom!

SWEET/SPICY/SAVORY: i would probably be booted out of my family if i didn't say spicy. to sum up our take on spicy food in a single anecdote: when the vending machine at my dad's workplace runs out of flaming hot cheetos, he buys regular cheetos and squeezes out a stripe of sri racha onto each one as he's eating
CURRENT OBSESSION: fandom-wise, bad buddy, womp womp. otherwise: i've been working on this project around understanding anti-blackness in asian communities that i'll be sharing publicly soon, and that i have been pretty consumed by (in a good way!)

what do you think about the new girl page? seeing lots of divisive opinions on that one
mm. mmmmmm. hoooooooo boy ok let's talk about this. i guess.
to sum it up succinctly? it strikes me as bizarre. like, just bizarre. it's weird on multiple levels and fucks with established characterizations of susie, kris, AND noelle. it's messy and i think it was a poor choice. and for now i'm tentatively bonking toby over the head with a hammer (i will get into why it's tentative for now, rest assured) and i'm also bonking everyone praising it and immediately incorporating it into their views of the characters.
to break it down further...?
in and of itself, it's like. alright, we've got this indirect and yet very clear confirmation that susie was adopted/temporarily housed by (and is still bouncing around in the foster care system) a human family and has/had a "mother" who abuses/d her. so she's lashing out. she's redirecting her pain and trauma onto the one human in hometown. who was also adopted. by a family of monsters. a family that is kind and loving. that's not fair, why didn't she get to be a dreemurr, why did kris steal her chance, this isn't fair this isn't fucking fair-
she's a hurt, scared kid. and i don't necessarily think this is a. well i don't want to say "i don't think this is a bad scene to canonize" because it is a bad scene - it's uncomfortable and it caused me a lot of pain to read. but it's not like unforgivable, and it doesn't make susie a bad person.
i will never hold a grudge against a kid for lashing out when they were never taught love and kindness and acceptance. i will never hold a grudge against a child for being scared and hurt and so so so so angry at the unfairness of the world.
my issues with it arise from the way it just... doesn't... make sense. if susie was truly so horrible to kris, why were they so quick to trust her? hell, why was she so eager to be their friend? there should be a hell of a lot more tension between them. the things susie said to kris were genuinely pretty awful and can't be swept under the rug Just Like That.
it also completely contradicts the way chapter 1 is set up, where we slowly piece together that susie never actually bullied anyone. sure, the way the blog post is written makes it sound like she only went after kris when they were alone, but that kind of visceral hate isn't going to go completely unnoticed. i mean, noelle picked up on it before seeing the classroom incident, yeah? i feel like someone would have said something. and i feel like MK especially would have made one off-hand comment about how much susie seems to hate kris Specifically instead of just repeatedly saying that they've never seen her actually do anything bad, but, b-but, BUT she still sucks kris lol.
also, noelle's "i always thought susie can't be that bad!" comment makes noooooooo fucking sense if she saw this unfold. because she literally saw that yeah. she's that bad.
it puts kris and susie's current easy natural loving friendship in a very weird light, and i very much dislike how many people are jumping to accept it. yes, i also love depth in characters' relationships. i love layers and complexities and tensions.
depth =/= toxic. and that's what this blog post does. it makes it toxic. it makes noelle's crush on susie toxic and uncomfortable as well. (seriously: "maybe i should buy apple shampoo so she bullies me instead? XD" ?????????????)
now you will note that i said i am Tentatively bonking toby over the head with a hammer. there is another reason why i don't like people jumping to incorporate this whole mess into their understanding of kris and susie's friendship:
... how do you know this is a scene from our game's current timeline?
it's pretty obvious deltarune has some fuckery going on irt timelines and resets similarly to undertale. on that same note, i've always loved how quickly susie and kris Click, but it has always made me raise an eyebrow. because that is not two teens slowly realizing they have more common ground than they thought and slowly letting their guards down around each other. that is two already best friends reuniting.
the way i've come to understand it is this: in the very, very, very first instance of "deltarune", it took kris and susie a very long time to become friends. BECAUSE of what happened in the classroom and whatever else. they only began to trust each other a heartbeat away from the end of the world. and then they fail. and then the timeline resets. and they do it again.
and the... feelings, the vague memories and the déjà vu. they linger. distantly, susie remembers a time when they were almost friends. and as the timelines go on, again and again, they just build up. things begin to change. their stories become brighter and brighter, despite ultimately ending in the tragedy that [gaster] wishes to prevent. until we get to this point where susie feels like she should be furious with kris for Something, but she can't bring herself to. and thus our current timeline, the beginning of Our Game, is born.
i stand by my theory that kris and susie's friendship will be what prevents the roaring or the angel's heaven or whatever other apocalyptic events ralsei decides to tell us about later. the red soul's intervention has nothing to do with it. they have lived countless lives together. they know now, just intrinsically, that there's no one they can trust more than each other. they are best friends till the end.
and by god is it going to be a happy one.
toby still gets a bonk over the head if this is the case btw because i ultimately disagree with using "ogh. timelines." as character development but i'll accept it if it means this stupid blog post isn't real (anymore). otherwise, he is going to need to pull some fucking magic out of his ass to explain this properly to me because it literally demolishes 2 chapters of build up and development ABFNDBDKGKFGKFJKGKDG 👍🏾
#i love deltarune very much but i do think toby's writing in many aspects is lacking#ESPECIALLY in terms of timelines and the red soul and player involvement and like. whatever. perhaps he will tie it all in by ch7 but...#as of now that is both undertale and deltarune's biggest weakness. you can twist however you want#but a from a purely canonical viewpoint it doesn't make sense. it Doesn't. we are all extrapolating and guessing and it's annoying#toby is amazing at characters and character interactions and humor and relationships. he is not so amazing at the . meta nonsense.#i'm serious ddlc is the only game that i've played that handled the incorporation of the literal player decently#everyone else just does this weird unexplained confusing Mess and uhghhh. stop itttt stop trying to be 'cool' and 'smart'#just letyour stories be stories. they are real enough as they are. i promise.#anyways... yeah this wasn't it#mailbox

i beat armored core 6! as someone who has long, long gone on record as a "souls-like disliker", and has never touched armored core before now- AC6 FUCKIN' RULES.
i think comparisons to dark souls and the ilk are... kinda fair, considering that's what fromsoft's been best known for the past how many years. understandable at minimum. in that vein, speaking on dark souls to expand on my feelings... it's basically just how fuckin painfully sluggish it is. no matter why it's like that, that's just something i can't really deal with in a video game. that and i've always been exceedingly turned off by the purported difficulty of the genre... in combination with the aforementioned especially.
by my knowledge, armored core 6's similarities to soulslikes begins and ends at:
-you can be pretty sluggish depending on your build
-there's a lot of difficult boss fights
-made by fromsoft games. i think i had something else to put here originally but i forgot it
-you can customize a thing pretty much however you like i guess
let me tell you, my friends, i have a need for speed imprinted in my soul, and armored core 6 DELIVERS. even when i made bulkier ACs for heavier weapons that stuff could MOVE if you knew how to move it... and the parts to use i guess (more under the cut)
This game goes fast. half the time, working by the arena's standards, i could kill an enemy AC in around 50 seconds. and those fights with enemy ACs are frenetic and fun as hell. not to mention the grander bosses in the game! they're often difficult fights, yes, but i never felt discouraged even once.
one thing i found particularly exciting was just the number of options- even if i only really ended up using a handful, lol. i was sort of surprised by how most weapons and even some parts can last you pretty much the whole game if the build's effective enough- my primary ACs all ended up being a Double Trigger build using the gatling guns. in fact, up until near the end of the game when i decided to expand my horizons just a bit, that and variations of it were all i would use- And i used the single same head for basically the whole game.
for my build with the lightest double jointed legs (and at the start in general), i had to use the first machine guns you unlock, because i was a maniac for lots of missiles and they got pretty weighty. but i ended up eventually unlocking double joint legs with comparable enough performance that could handle more weight, and, well... it was gatling gun city from then on.
and, even with the gatling guns and the twenty missiles, those builds stayed pretty freaking quick! whether i was using the lightweight tank treads or double jointed legs, it was showtime all the time, and i rained hellfire. ... i did tend to run clean out of ammo a fair number of times though, at least in the mid-game.
i forget whether it was here or twitter, but i saw a post somewhere not long before i started playing the game that- to sum it up succinctly- basically amounted to "best thing to do is keep the enemy in your sights and stay out of your enemy's sights, so build for fast movement + evasion". and i definitely took it to heart, at least subconsciously... and, i mean, let's be real- i probably woulda gone for builds like that anyways, being me.
on that note, the game is very newcomer friendly, i think- once you get over the first hurdle of the boss in the intro mission, anyways. the tutorials, and tutorial missions especially, were quite thorough, handed out in parts so as not to overwhelm. and exact info on any of the many different stats to each AC part were only a few buttons away in the building menu. not to mention the ease of which you can build an AC and then get right to testing it- even so far as to be able to hop into the assembly menu from testing, and go right back with nary even a loading screen. Real good shit.
to make a long post short, this game let me play as an approximation of chris yukine if she were a mecha, and that is a very powerful thing to put in my hands, and i'm very glad i decided on a whim to buy this game from a series my datefriend really likes.
time for new game plus!

best part(s) about tf2?
Well firstly it's a very good game to get into very silly hijinks! Tons of comedic potential from a game that has both taunts and killbinds and blowing people into little pieces that stick around for a while
But for me the big thing is the characters. Both in design and general execution they're so well developed and unique and interesting that I struggle to come up with something to compare it too. (Homestuck comes to mind as far as each character being so unique and well developed personality wise, but I still think tf2 wins out there personally)
Like. You take literally any character and pretty much just by looking at them you know what you get. Which makes sense since their design team had to make each class recognizable from silhouette and fast paced game play. Medic Looks like a crazy doctor, soldier looks like well.. a Solider lol but they have such big distinct personalities that it's really to latch onto them. You put Any of these guys in a scenario and Stuff is GOING to happen as a result you know? Even just in game stuff like cosmetics and voice lines add so much to the characters outside the comics (which I only mention cause most tumblr fans don't actually play the game but enjoy the comics lol) and they didn't just give this treatment to the dudes! Pauling and admin and zhanna all have such big fantastic personalities and absolutely none of them are reduced to the Woman Character you know?
I guess to sum it all up my favorite part about tf2 is how all the characters could very well be real people. From design to personality they're just... people you know? They aren't perfect and they're silly and often over the top because tf2 is at its heart a comedysilly game, but they feel just so real. Scout is an annoying self obsessed loser but he also draws and is willing to admit his flaws when he genuinely needs help (expedition date). Heavy is a big emotionless Russian who isn't great with English, but he has a degree in Russian literature and also names his guns and has beds for them. Engineer seems like the normal polite texas but his go to solution is 'add more gun' and he cut off his own hand to replace it with a robotic hand his grandpa invented. Pauling works 364 days a year pitting two sides of a war against eachother for reasons she doesn't really understand and she likes to go to gun shows when she can. Idk they're all just really strongly realized characters and that really draws people in
