Reunion!
This is short and sweet folks, Emmet finds his brother, and then they hug.
“Fine. You’ve got three days. The portal back will open right in the same spot, so you better be there. If you don’t walk through within the hour I’m sending a rescue team.”
Emmet feels the smile on his face in a way he hasn’t in a while, and nods his agreement.
In a whirlwind he is shuffled outside, told to have fun in the past, and then he’s walking through a portal to find his twin. It’s all very fast. Emmet is too busy trying to not to vibrate out of his skin to take it all in.
That doesn’t matter. What matters is that he is somewhere he wasn’t before, and this place is where Ingo has been for the last two years, three months, and fifteen days. What matters is that Emmet needs to get searching. He starts by trying to find the nearest sign of civilization.
He finds none.
He’s on top of a mountain. He should be able to see something. A city should stand out at least a little bit from far away.
Unless he’s so far back in time they don’t have cities yet. Hmm. An unexpected delay. Emmet does not have many outdoor skills. But! He has no other track than to climb down the mountain. Then, hope to find a passerby and ask them where Ingo is. His brother is out there somewhere. He starts climbing.
Emmet is having a nice time watching the wild Pokémon while he stumbles his way through climbing down. After he almost falls to his death for the fourth time, a pokémon approaches him. It’s verrrry tall. Verrrry unusual too- it looks like an incredibly forgetful kid tried to draw a sneasel from memory.
The pokémon makes sure Emmet is looking at them. Then it turns around so he can see the basket on their back.
“Are you offering to carry me?”
The pokémon nods. Emmet climbs in the basket. Getting down the mountain goes much faster after the weird sneasel takes pity on him.
Once at the bottom, the pokémon stops. Emmet climbs out. Before Emmet can be on his way, the sneasel chitters at him. Looks him up and down with a considering gaze. Then, they do something unexpected.
The weird sneasel takes Emmet’s hat. Then holds it in the air next to his head like she’s putting it on an invisible person next to him. They look from Emmet to the invisible person, shaking the hat a bit for emphasis.
Emmet can’t breathe. “Do you know where he is?”
The sneasel puts his hat back on his head and offers their basket to Emmet again. Emmet doesn’t hesitate, but does remember to say, “thank you” this time.
After what feels like an eternity watching the world go by through a gap in the basket, they make it to some sort of town. A man at the gate halts their progress. Emmet climbs out of the basket to speak with him.
The man’s eyes widened.
“Ingo? I thought you were already here?”
Emmet’s breath catches.
He’s here he’s here he’s here he’s here he’s here he’s here he’s here he’s here he’s here he’s here!!!!
Emmet sprints past the man at the gate. Emmet thinks he hears him yell after, but more clearly he hears the tall sneasel hiss at the guard, which makes Emmet smile wider. This place isn’t that big, Emmet will find Ingo before anyone catches him if he runs fast enough.
Emmet is deciding whether to veer left in the middle of town or continue full steam ahead when he hears the BOOM from directly ahead.
A pokémon battle. A really fun looking battle, between a gliscor and…a samurott that looks wrong. Briefly, his eyes catch on the teenager behind the odd pokémon and Emmet wonders where on earth they got it from. Samurott gets hit by a brutal looking thunder fang, which draws his attention back to the gliscor. Then, to the trainer behind gliscor.
Emmet wonders how many times in a day someone can spontaneously stop breathing before it becomes unhealthy.
There he is. There is Ingo!
There is Ingo, in the middle of a pokémon battle, and it’s been so long since he’s seen Ingo in action that Emmet can’t help but stare. The longer he watches, the more the child against him seems verrrry strong. Emmet is impressed. He wants to see them on the battle subway.
Ingo is both comfortably familiar and horribly different. His subway uniform is in tatters, but he still directs his team with confidence and skill. Emmet can’t see the happy gleam Ingo usually gets when he’s having fun, Ingo’s knees are bent awkwardly like he’s in pain, Ingo-
He just looks so sad. Of course he does, he’s been trapped in the past for years! How could Emmet have let this happen-
There’s another BOOM. The battle is over.
Something in Emmet remembers to move. Once he’s running again he can’t stop and he collides with Ingo from behind. Both he and the child let out a noise of surprise, but Emmet can’t say a word. He’s so close, Ingo is really here, and Emmet has no voice for words he doesn’t care about when Ingo is here.
—————
Ingo was having a good day. Sneasler hadn’t needed his assistance this morning, so he made his way to Jubilife Village. He conducted several opponents to the training ground for young Micha, and was now engaged in an intense battle himself.
“No one does it like you, Ingo,” they say every time. It’s flattery that will get them nowhere, but Ingo likes to indulge them anyway. He likes battling Micha as much as they like battling him.
It’s after a particularly loud finish that Ingo is accosted suddenly from behind. He shouts in alarm but the mystery person does not loosen their tight grip. Ingo tries to twist around but finds it impossible, so he looks down instead to the arms holding him.
White and bronze. Long sleeves which poof at the ends, much like Ingo’s coat used to have. Exactly like Ingo’s coat used to have.
The shadow of a twin that matched him exactly, save their preference for white over black.
There’s something digging into his back. It feels like the hard brim of a hat.
A quiet night in, two hats on a hook by the door, an apartment he can’t place but knows is his home.
It’s urgently necessary that Ingo turn to face the person hugging him. He shoulders his way sideways, grabbing the other man by the shoulder. His eyes feel suspiciously wet.
“I am Emmet,” the man croaks. “I finally found you.”
Ingo stares at him. Stares and stares and stares because this is someone he knows and his heart feels full to bursting-
The ground is moving beneath his feet. The world zooming by through the windows. A subway.
More than a fiery partner, an entire team, equipped both for tunnel safety and competitive play.
1000 battles, fought against 1000 faces, but standing side by side with one.
“Emmet,” he whispers back. The man in white starts crying.
Days spent growing up in the sun. Days spent working underground. A lifetime of family, friends, and Gear Station.
Ingo remembers everything.
He pulls Emmet back to him and holds him like his life depends on it.
“EMMET!” The word bursts out of him, he’s so overwhelmed he can’t possibly contain it.
“Ingo.” Emmet whispers so quietly, like he’s too overwhelmed to speak at all.
They stay there for what must be a short eternity. Ingo clings, but then pulls away because he wants to look at his brother and Emmet smiles so happily at him. Then he pulls him back into an embrace and Ingo is content to stand there forever, which is just when Emmet will pull away again to pat at Ingo wherever he can reach, just to make sure his twin really is whole and in one piece. Ingo is perhaps the happiest he’s ever been.

Wow, you guys blew me away!
The response to my last Mario post was so immediate and so overwhelming that I just HAD to give you more!
This time with some hugs, because I committed a crime by not including some brotherly hugs in the last post... and some more angst! Because too many people walked away from that post unscathed! :D
Also I apologize if not being able to read what the brothers are saying is a bit annoying.. I liked the idea that during tender moments or casual conversation, Mario and Luigi speak in Italian with each other. And I didn’t want that aspect to be lost in my work by just writing in English.. (aside from the last one lol-)
But hey I provided some Italian to English translations at least! <:D
1: “Luigi!! I missed you baby brother!”
2: Mario!! It’s so good to see you!
3: “There there... easy does it. Take deep breaths.
4: “I’m right here Luigi, you can do this. Just breathe..
9: Mario! That was stupid! What are you 5??”

Lately I've been thinking about Peach's healing power again; only this time, I wanted to draw it in a pleasant context rather than a dramatic or bittersweet one! The idea that her soothing magic can not only alleviate others' pain but also make them relaxed to the point of inducing sleep is one that I really like, and I couldn't resist using this element for a bit of fluff. 🤭💖
(Based on the original concept by @drones-of-innocence and inspired from @peaches2217's lovely headcanons 🙏)

I wrote something about this years ago in a random Discord server and can't find it, but the :D JOBS app on the D.D.D. is so funny.
You're this human. Living with the Seven Rulers of Hell. You're on incredibly personal terms with the crown prince. And you need some money.
You coerce Mammon and Diavolo himself to go work two hours at a clothing shop. Forget whatever plans they had. They work for you now.
Meanwhile, Lucifer is coming back from the 8 hour shift you made him do at some fancy restaurant. You greet him at the front door. He's tired and he smells like hell oyster sauce. He hands you 10,000 grimm and you give him a little head pat for his efforts, causing his affection to go up.
"Again."
"What?"
"Go back to work. Again."
"Yes, dear."
He trudges back to the restaurant. Today you've planned back-to-back shifts for everyone again.

Examining SVSSS Canon: 1/∞
SHEN YUAN'S PIDW-READING TIMELINE
One question and argument that comes up frequently in SVSSS fandom is, how long did Shen Yuan read PIDW for? Was he following it from early serialization, or did he simply binge everything toward the end?
This question isn't exactly one that is easy to answer either-- considering that there are actually various direct quotes that could be read in contradiction to one another regarding it.
Based on the information in the novel, we are left with several potential theories as to Shen Yuan's reading timeline. In this post, I will be presenting these theories, along with supporting evidence from the novel.
Theory #1: Shen Yuan picked up PIDW and binge-read it from beginning to end for the first time in 20 days before dying
This theory is directly supported with a quote:
He’d spent twenty days binging the novel from start to finish, so he had clean forgotten that whump-filled arc of pointless abuse that covered Luo Binghe’s beginnings at the sect, okay?! (7 Seas, Ch. 1)
In the original text, this line is 他可是看了二十天才看完的. Broken down, this is literally "he indeed read it (他可是看了), it took him twenty days (二十天才)to read the whole [novel] (看完的)."
*note 可是 may also be equivalent to "however" or "but" in some circumstances, but is generally used to provide emphasis.
However, depending on where one puts the emphasis and pairs syllables in the last part, there could be different interpretations. If read as 看 完的 it implies "read the entire thing," but if read as 看完 的,it implies "finished reading." I read it the first way, but I don't know if that is the "most correct," so there is some ambiguity there.
It is also implied later that PIDW was already very long and full of plot holes when he began reading it:
So, if back when he’d just opened this baffling book, this Proud Immortal Demon Way, which was so full of landmines that it was practically high art, to the point that those landmines had become its very style... He would definitely have grabbed the brick that was the entire fifty-volume set and showed them what their brains looked like when splattered across the ground. (7 Seas, Ch. 21)
Though this could be related to the final length of the novel, and the "fifty-volume set" is likely exaggeration or metaphor. In one of his forum posts, he also says:
I understand what OP is feeling. I’ve been reading this novel lately, and it’s so damn long—long and pumped full of filler... ...All my fellow readers have already roasted the setting for the last three hundred thousand words, so I won’t say more on that. (7 Seas, Ch. 26)
This part where he says he has been reading the novel lately, implies that he began not too long ago, rather than following it for years. Of course, Airplane already at this point finds his username and comments familiar:
His eyes automatically highlighted that familiar ID “Peerless Cucumber.” (7 Seas, Ch. 26)
So it could also be said that he is downplaying his dedication with that statement. He does, however, state that the other readers have roasted the setting, but doesn't mention that he himself has done so. Additionally, the "three-hundred thousand words" mentioned may refer to the comment section, not the novel itself, so there is still some ambiguity to that point.
Theory #2: Shen Yuan has been reading PIDW long-term throughout serialization
There are multiple quotes directly supporting this theory:
He could guarantee it on all the youth and frustrations he’d wasted following this twenty-million-word-plus serialization for years. (7 Seas, Ch. 6)
and
Everything that had happened before was as unto smoke. From today forth, as he walked the jianghu, he would use this ID, which had been plastered all over the comments section for years. (7 Seas, Ch. 9)
The second quote may refer to comments sections on Zhongdian literature in general, but the first one is more directly referring to PIDW. There is a slim but unlikely possibility that he referrs to the years he has spent within the PIDW universe, rather than just reading the novel. That possibility is made even less likely by the following quote:
Next, let a veteran reader of this novel, Shen Yuan, omit the countless fanservice-y details and concisely summarize the million-word epic for everyone… (7 Seas, Ch. 1)
Where it refers to him as a veteran reader of PIDW specifically (and this TL is consistent with the original implications). It's unlikely for him to be referred to as a veteran reader if he had only been reading the novel for twenty days.
As one can see, if you go by either of the above theories, there are direct conflicts and contradictions, and arguments to be made either way. This could be written off as inconsistency. However, there are two additional options and theories which can resolve those conflicts.
Theory #3: Shen Yuan had been a casual reader of PIDW for years, but rushed to finish reading it through to the end in 20 days
One possibility is that Shen Yuan had been reading PIDW casually over several years, but wasn't caught up by the time his death drew near. Shen Yuan's cause of death is a matter for another post, so I won't discuss it here, but the following quote lends some support to this reading:
“Dumbfuck author, dumbfuck novel!” With his dying breath, Shen Yuan spat this final curse. Who could have imagined that an upstanding young man like him—who had properly purchased the website’s VIP currency and read the novel’s official version—would find himself persevering before his untimely death to finish a novel so stallion, so money-grubbing and overly padded, that it left him speechless with rage? How could he not curse? (7 Seas, Ch. 1)
Here, it seems that Shen Yuan may have been aware of his upcoming death, and so he may have wanted to hurry and finish reading the novel before he died. In the original text, the phrase is: 临终前坚持看完的, which can be broken down as "before his untimely/sudden death (临终之前), he persisted to finish reading [the novel] (坚持看完的), though this may also be read as "he persisted in reading the entire novel," depending on how one puts emphasis in the sentence (same issue as the first quote in theory 1). 临终 means literally "near the end," but is a term for death or one's deathbed. Another way to translate 临终之前 would be "before meeting his end."
So, because he was persisting/persevering in finishing the novel (either the whole thing or just to the end), it may be that he expected his incoming death, or that he simply wished to persist in reading the novel to its end and his death still occured unexpectedly.
坚持 implies some level of urgency or steadfastness, but it may not refer to reading the novel quickly, but simply dedication to slogging through all of the bad porn and reading it to the end, rendering this theory a bit shaky.
Theory #4: Shen Yuan had been reading PIDW since early serialization, but re-read the entire thing in the 20 days before his death
This theory would resolve all potential conflicts-- making it true that he both followed PIDW's serialization for years and read the whole novel in 20 days. As to why he re-read the full novel, perhaps it was because the final chapter had been posted or was coming up, and he wished to reread from the start in preparation for that-- this could also drive him into an even greater rage about the contents of the novel and how repetitive and filler-heavy it is, as this would become more and more obvious on a binge-reread from start to end.
One weakness in this theory, though (pointed out by @verycharismaticdragon) is that if he read it twice, it would be less likely for him to completely forget details as mentioned in the first quote. Not entirely impossible-- one can still forget details even after multiple read-throughs, but just less likely to completely forget.
Theory #5: When Shen Yuan began reading PIDW, he binged all available chapters in twenty days, before following it consistently afterwards.
(theory courtesy of @verycharismaticdragon)
While this would not be particularly likely if the quote from theory 1 and the quote from theory 3 were linked together, those two quotes don't necessarily have to be linked-- it's possible that Shen Yuan would have binged the entire novel as it was at the time he found it in twenty days, then decided to continue reading as it updated, persisting and persevering because he wanted to reach the end despite the novel's trashiness, and then ended up dying.
Particularly, this makes a lot of sense in the context of the following quote:
Even though this famous Lord Cucumber spewed criticism constantly and without end in “Great Master” Airplane’s comments sections, his subscription payments and demands for updates never waned. (7 Seas, Ch. 26)
If Shen Yuan hadn't been caught up with the novel (as theory 3 would state) then it wouldn't make quite so much sense for him to be demanding updates, and if he hadn't been reading it for even a full month, there was no reason for him to make consistent subscription payments.
*******
Ultimately, which theory you choose to believe depends somewhat on the way you view canon-- whether the seemingly contradicting statements were intentional, or whether they were merely a consistency error.
These are the only theories that I can think of, but feel free to add any additional theories + support quotes and analysis if you have them!
One final note, in regards to WHEN DID SHEN YUAN START READING?
If it's true that Shen Yuan began reading PIDW earlier in serialization, how early was that point? Was he reading it from the beginning, or did he start later?
I personally believe it was later. Though he says he was following the novel for years, that could mean anywhere from two to four years since the total serialization of PIDW took place over four years:
How could someone who’d cursed “dumbfuck author, dumbfuck novel” remember ancient content from the beginning of a serialized novel that had been running for four years and covered an in-narrative span of two hundred years? (7 Seas, Ch. 1)
While it's hard to place exactly when he started reading, it seems that Shen Yuan began to read PIDW before the Immortal Alliance Conference arc, as he discusses the novel's online performance before that point:
Before this event, Proud Immortal Demon Way’s performance online had been steadfastly lukewarm. But once the Immortal Alliance Conference Arc debuted, the reviews, comments, subscriptions, and tips all soared into the heavens. It wasn’t only because from that point forward, “Great Master” Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky abandoned the last of his already minimal moral principles... there was another important “it” factor. It was, in fact, the main element that had first compelled Shen Qingqiu to follow the novel until the end. The demonic beasts! (7 Seas, Ch. 4)
It also seems that he wasn't entirely dedicated to reading the novel before then. However, he may have caught up with the serialization a bit later-- for example, if he started reading just before the conference, he would have known that it was a little-known novel before, and been able to watch the rise in popularity in real time even if he himself hadn't caught up to the conference just yet, before only deciding to dedicate to reading the full novel once he caught up to that part.
There are many possibilities and uncertainties in regards to Shen Yuan's reading timeline, but I do think there is enough information here to form decently solid theories-- so I will leave it to my readers to decide, now that the information has been presented, which ones they think are most likely and which they wish to use in their analysis.

Isn’t platonic intimacy so cool I love tender embraces
Emmet hasn’t been this happy in months.
Just a moment ago, Emmet was inspecting the tunnel of the green line after hours. Just a routine search for possible issues. -A leftover habit formed when he just couldn’t accept that his brother had really just disappeared into thin air while on the subway-
Nothing was supposed to be down here. All seemed to be normal, until his brother Ingo appeared from thin air. There was no light, no sound, just…one moment Emmet was alone, and now he is not.
“Ingo!”
Ingo turns around. His eyes are glowing- neat! He looks verrrry disheveled, which is understandable considering the sudden track change, and just a little afraid, which Emmet hates on principle. Ingo is a powerful trainer and a strong fighter, so he should never feel so unsafe as to be scared.
Whatever had happened to his brother scared him- Emmet will take care of it. Later, after Ingo tells him what happened.
All of which can wait. Ingo is finally approaching him. He doesn’t seem to know what to say, so Emmet focuses on his eyes- they can be counted on to express what the rest of his face cannot. What he sees there is-
Oh.
Emmet’s breath catches. He’s not- he doesn’t- he wishes he was better with words. Ingo looks at him like he barely knows who he is, or maybe like he’s everything. Something like exhaustion giving way to wonder, or maybe-
Oh.
There’s a hand on his face. More specifically, Ingo’s ungloved right hand is resting is on Emmet’s cheek. Emmet was too zoned in, he didn’t see it coming, and he’ll claim that being caught off guard is the only reason he let out a horrible wounded sound in response. Maybe only horrible to him, Ingo just looks sad at his involuntary whine. He doesn’t move away though. That’s good. He shouldn’t- in fact, he should get closer. He’s an entire arm’s length away.
For a heartbeat Emmet thinks Ingo will close the distance on his own. He nearly does; he strokes Emmet’s cheek with his thumb, once, then takes a half step closer. Emmet can’t stand the intensity of the eye contact anymore- he closes his eyes. There are so many things that will need to be taken care of if Ingo really is back. Right at this moment the only thing he’s going to do is bask in his brother’s warmth.
Emmet has Ingo back. He’s right here, instead of wherever he’s been.
**********
Emmet wakes up in the middle of night in his room. Of course, that’s not strange- except, he can’t help the feeling that he’s not where he’s supposed to be. Where did he fall asleep?
He was in…Ingo’s room! Because Ingo was there and Emmet did not want to leave him!
Now he’s in his room. Not Ingo’s. His heart drops-had it been a dream? Emmet can’t stomach the thought, so he flees his bed and hurries to the other room. As soon as he opens the door, there’s someone sitting up from the bed, and Emmet lets out the breath he was holding.
“Emmet?”
Emmet dives at him. Ingo lets out a strangled yell, but doesn’t push him away.
“I woke up in a different place than I fell asleep. I worried I had imagined you.”
Ingo’s voice holds a lot of concern when he says, “Is that a regular occurrence? Seeing me when I was not here?”
“No. I thought maybe I had finally lost it.”
Ingo wraps his arms around Emmet. Emmet pulls him into a proper hug. Honestly, it’s like Ingo has forgotten how.
“I’m sorry, Emmet. I’m here now.”
“Yes! You are here now, so there is no need to be sad anymore.”
Ingo hums like he’s not going to let Emmet get away with that kind of blatant wishful thinking, but only holds him more securely instead. Perhaps they will talk about it in the morning. For now, Emmet is warm and comfortable, his brother is here, and he wants to go back to sleep.
“How did I get to my room?”
“I carried you there. I thought your own bed would be more comfortable to you.”
Ingo carried him? Did he get stronger while he was away? How much stronger? Strong enough to-
“Emmet?”
Ah. He has let his train of thought roll past the station. “I am Emmet. I would rather sleep here.”
Ingo hesitates. Emmet says, “I missed you.”
“I missed you too,” Ingo says. Then he lays down on his side, pulling Emmet down with him. They shuffle to get more comfortable; Emmet’s forehead ends up pressed into Ingo’s shoulder while Ingo’s arm cradles Emmet’s head and neck. The blankets are scatter around them, mostly covering their legs, and the pillows are only technically under their heads. And yet, Emmet is happy. He situates his arm around Ingo to pull him closer, hold him tighter. They should both just stay here. All night, maybe forever. They could definitely hold pokémon battles from a mattress.
“Good night, Emmet.”
“Good night, Ingo.”
They both sleep much better the rest of the night.

I don't know where this came from but here:
Damian, Jon and Elle are working out at the Teen Titan gym. Jon notices that Elle has stopped and is just staring at Damian and decides to sidle on over, both to tease his girlfriend and join her in watching their boyfriend go ham in the fight simulation program.
Jon: Enjoying the view?
Elle: huh? Oh no - well, yeah obviously, but that's not why I'm staring
Jon: Oh? What's up then? Something wrong with D?
Elle: No, nothing like that, it's just...
Jon: Just?
Elle: Does he pluck his eyebrows to be that shape?
Jon: ...what?
Elle: It just occured to me that his eyebrows are like, shaped like the wings of the bat symbol. Does he pluck them them to get that shape? Or are they natural? I mean, Batcow's "mask" is natural so...
Jon, a dawning realizationin his eyes: ...I - they've been that way since we were kids...
Elle: Yeah, I've seen pictures, but it's Day. Can you really tell me he wouldn't start doing it as a kid to as like a "see I'm totally the superior child, I even my eyebrows are dedicated to the cause" and then have to keep it up forever cause he couldn't just admit he was plucking his brows into that shape when he was a little bratty kid.
Jon: Oh my god he totally would
Damian finishes up at the simulation area and wanders over to his two partners to see what they're talking about
Damian: Hey-
Jon & Elle: Are your eyebrows real?!
Damian stops. States at them. Turns on his heel and just walks away from them without a word with both of them immediately chasing after him badgering him about his eyebrows.
(It takes another three months but they do eventually catch him painstakingly plucking his brows for that optimal Bat-Wing look)

So spent the last couple of days working on my FNAF recap/repair comic. And I’ve made a BUNCH of progress. So I figured I’d take a short break and doodle some random stuff before getting back to work.
So this post is just a huge mish-mash of random things I drew on my break. Well, at least these are the more coherent ones- <XD

"You've been hurting so much, and for so long… Please, let me soothe your pain."
-
There was a scenario I had imagined in which Mario would suffer emotional trauma and keep it to himself to the point of becoming depressed, growing more distant and avoiding others as a result. He would so desperately want for his loved ones to be at peace that he would rather endure unbearable misery in silence than speak on it; not knowing just how tired he really is and how badly he needs to be comforted.
So when Peach would finally -and ever so gently- confront him on the matter, his walls would crumble almost immediately, and he would break down in front of her. Anguish and exhaustion slowly giving way to healing. ❤️‍🩹

Not me thinking thinking about how good of a brother Mario is and how there's literally nobody better that Luigi could've clung to while he sorts out his own anxiety.
Tumblr media
Mario acknowledges that Luigi is a fearful person, but doesn't think any less of him for being scared. He doesn't see Luigi's bad luck as a burden, even when he tries to make sure he's safe and protected at every turn. Mario gets annoyed by his brother on occasion, but doesn't degrade or talk down to him– not even jokingly. He just puts up with it and forges ahead without drawing attention his brother's mistakes. Then when it comes to Luigi's victories, even small ones, he dwells on them and gets excited without an ounce of insincerity or exaggeration.
Tumblr media
The worst thing Mario does is get a little too caught up in his impulses and emotions to listen, but otherwise he's so rock solid, even apart from his three-day adventure solely focused on saving Luigi's life.
