started this superpower au like a month ago and finally got around to colouring the timeline I made for this insane batch of siblings. Won't go much into the au here just because I'm tired but if anyone wants to hear about anythin' specific I can respond :]
Also not set on the "Evo" surname, its more a placeholder than anything but it gets the energy a crossed lol. Any better suggestions are welcome.

141 but Superpower addition!
Let’s start off with Gaz!
Invisibility - The Ability to disappear at one’s command.
I like the idea of Gaz having the power of invisibility because of the fact he’s on so many missions where he needs to be quiet, it would just be so convenient for him to be able to do them to his full ability.
Plus, he also likes to play tricks on Soap, who blames it on a “Ghost” (Things are promptly set on fire when he gets jump scared.)
Next is Soap!
Pyrokinesis - The ability to control fire.
I would’ve given Soap the power of explosives, but that would be boring to me, so I thought why not give him an even more destructive power! This way aswell, he can also set explosives off if they have a wick with his powers.
He does have a lot of scars and burns on his hands from the constant use of his flames, but it doesn’t stop him at all. Despite him having control over his own fire, he can’t control other sources.
Now Ghost!
Mind Control - The ability to control someone’s mind.
He hides it so well, most people don’t know what power he has unless he outright tells people. They assume he’s a controller of shadows or that he can turn into some sort of animal. But it’s not an ability he likes to flaunt.
He does however, like to control Johnny to do stupid things in front of the recruits. He has an incredibly strong moral compass in the sense that he will only use his powers if absolutely necessary (which they all also sign a similar contract for when they sign up.)
Last but not least, Price!
Necromancy - The ability to bring back the dead.
He honestly hates his power. You couldn’t get the information out of him unless he trusted you with his life. Not only does he rarely ever use it, but it’s also in his contact not to try unless given the command.
He has done it a few times in the past, but only for very high payments, and he’d rather never do it again.
BUT, you just know if any of his boys died in battle, he’d be using them without any hesitation or any concern for the consequences.

If Ted Lasso Characters Had Superpowers
With some help from @marbearmarigold
I’d imagine this would be in a universe where superpowers are normal and just banned when you’re competing in sports
Ted - Decimation / “The Undoing” - I’ve stolen this from The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself (tv show) (I’ve put a video below) it’s basically like, exploding people from the inside. I think Ted has this, but he never uses it.
Rebecca - Control over Plants - like Layla from Sky High and with Poison Ivy vibes.
Trent - Persuasion / Charm - kind of like Lucifer in Lucifer (tv). He can get people to tell him things they normally wouldn’t. But he never uses it for journalism, even in his earlier days. It would be cheating (and unethical).
Beard - He’s just a normal guy. But. Like Batman - also nobody knows whether he’s actually got a power or not.
Higgins - Sound Manipulation - turns sound into energy. Uses his bass. Similar to Viktor Hargreaves but Higgins must use his bass for the power to work.
Nate - Invisibility
Keeley - Sky? Powers: Flight and Lightning
Roy - Earthquakes
Jamie - Sonic Scream - like Black Canary. I wanted something that people wouldn’t attribute his football success to, I guess? It was almost super speed though.
Colin - Mimic - with a touch he copies someone else’s power for a short amount of time. Maybe he has it for an hour? I almost did shapeshifting (he’s a chameleon) but I felt like this really shows that he can adapt to any situation (he’s still a chameleon!)
Isaac - Super Strength
Sam - Pyrokinesis - Fire. a power that seems violent, but with Sam it’s warmth. Life.
Dani - Talks to Ghosts - I like to think he had a chat with the 400 treatment room ghosts and they told him what to do so they could finally move on. They tripped him to get his attention because they’ve wanted to move on for years.
Some bonus ones I just thought of:
Will - Super Hearing
Henry - Healing - can heal both himself and other people.
CW for video of Ted’s power: blood, gore, violence
This is Ted’s power. The person with the power in this video is the girl at the very end, Annalise.

superpower ideas ✦・゚* .•
I’ve been writing a novel about some characters with some powers, and I thought I’d share those powers if anyone needs inspiration for their own characters !!
I tried to make sure each one isn’t entirely overpowered and if it is it has major drawbacks. I also wanted them to be unique, and to my knowledge none of them are copied from already existing characters. Hope these help with anything you may be writing!!
-✦・゚* .•✦・゚* .•✦・゚* .•✦・゚* .•✦・゚* .•✦・゚* .•✦・゚* .•✦・゚* .•✦・゚* -
Power Name: Sunspot
This is a healing power that converts light/heat energy into usable energy for the human body for healing. The user of the power can heal people or accelerate the healing time of a wound as long as they have access to a natural light source (sun, fire, etc.) The bigger the wound the more time or energy it will take to heal
- ✦・゚* .•
Power Name: Bloodhound
This power gives the user the ability to see people’s trails/paths, as long as they have an object that belongs to the person they’re tracking or have interacted with them recently. Things like water, snow or certain weather can wash away a trail, so there may be gaps or parts of that person’s trail entirely missing. (for the purposes of my novel the power works on ghosts or long dead people as long as the trail isn’t washed away and the user has the person’s possession, but it can also work only on living people if you’d like)
- ✦・゚* .•
Power Name: Dreamwalker
This person can explore/live through the dreams of people they are near and “catalog” them for later use. They can then bring elements of those dreams into reality, things like objects or events. The larger the element the more power it takes to use, and the more severe the drawbacks for the user. Overuse of this power or overfilling their “catalog” can lead to amnesia, drowsiness, and in extreme cases physical pain.
- ✦・゚* .•
Power Name: Sweettalk
This person can influence other people’s thoughts and feelings based on their tone. If they express a certain emotion in their voice, others will also experience that emotion. It is very powerful but also highly uncontrolled. The user has to be incredibly careful to not drive people to depression, uncontrolled anger, or even a state of happiness in which they can feel nothing else.
-✦・゚* .•
Power Name: Shade Speaker (this one is more supernatural, and may not apply to whatever you’re using these powers for)
This person hear the voices of the dead, as long as they are in darkness or shadow. These voices can be helpful or misleading, and it’s up to the user to decide whether or not to take the advice of these voices.

Probable Theorem Ch. 18
<<Chapter 17 Chapter 18 Summary: Do you remember what even happened last time? In the last chapter, Patton confronted his mom(Maggie) with an ultimatum to help him or he'd cut her out of his life. Roman was kidnapped, Virgil was stressed, Roman's mother Liz was there and kinda chillin' and Logan was with Thomas who wanted to learn how to use his powers again. Word count: 3.2k
Patton stared out the window at each building that passed, keeping note of every turn and every street to their destination. He glanced at his phone to the map he had pulled up, his GPS helping him keep track of where he was. He definitely didn’t expect to find himself so deep into the city where the population would be so dense, but he supposed that any building could be hiding a number of secrets. He kept glancing out the window and at his phone, hoping it would calm his nerves. The longer the drive went, the more the silence taunted him. He kept bracing himself for the inevitable. He knew it was going to happen, he just wasn’t sure exactly when.
Then he heard his mother sigh. There it is…
“Back at the house,-”
“We’re not talking about this.” Patton squeezed his phone in his hand as he felt the car roll to a stop.
“I just think it’s a little unfair how you jumped me with all those questions!”
“And I think it’s really unfair how you’ve been invalidating my feelings my whole life.”
“I have done no such thing!”
Patton huffed and looked over at his mother driving the truck. “Then what do you call what you’re doing right now?” Maggie scrunched up her nose but kept her eyes on the road. He could tell she was thinking of something to retort with. Make her seem like it wasn't that bad. That it wasn't her fault. That it came from a place of love. “I know what you're thinking; you feel like you’ve done something wrong, because you have, so you’re getting defensive. But that doesn't mean you can tell me how I feel is wrong because you didn't mean to."
"Now you're just twisting this around to make me look like the bad guy! I'm trying to help you!"
"Pull over."
"What?"
"I said," Patton balled his fists and braced himself, "pull over!"
"You need me to help find Roman!"
"No, I don't!" Patton finally turned and looked at his mother. The shocked expression on her face as she finally glanced away from the road for a split second before turning back was enough for him to know that she was listening. "I don't need you for this. I can find him without you!"
"No! You don't know where he is and I do!"
"And my boyfriend can read minds." Patton glared as he spoke. "I already told you back at the house. This is the last chance you have or you won't see me again. Ever."
The car grew silent with nothing more than the muffled noise from the city around them.
“Patton-”
“I’m not trying to be the bad guy here, mom. But I can’t just let you do this to me anymore.” Patton’s voice grew softer as he spoke. “I can’t handle it anymore.”
He heard his mother sigh from the driver’s seat, refusing to look at her. Not wanting to lose his resolve if he saw how upset she was. “You’re father would miss you.”
Patton immediately tensed in anger. “Using dad against me won’t work. He already said I could reach out to him and that he would love me no matter what. I don’t need you to get to him and we both know you could never take him away from me.”
“I wouldn’t-”
“Don’t. We both know what you meant by it, so just don’t.”
Patton watched as the car pulled into a parking lot and the truck slowly came to a halt. His mother turned the car off and sat in her seat, making no attempt to exit just yet. “Do you still want me to show you where he is?”
Patton glanced at his phone, looking at the GPS app he had opened up to see where downtown he was. Technically, it was enough information to give to Logan and they could probably continue here on their own.
He sat up and looked at her. “Depends. Do you think it was unfair? What I did back home?”
Maggie stayed silent for a bit before turning back to him. “I do, but maybe it’s because I’m being defensive. I just need to think about it and think before I act.”
Patton stared at her, not completely satisfied with her answer. Her emotions were a mess, they were swirling so much and wouldn’t settle on one solid feeling. She was emotionally charged right now, enough that he felt it was the truth. He was also an emotional person, it’s probably where he got it from. It probably explained why he started to become a bit of an empath. Possibly. He could bring it up to Logan who would go on and on with theories about how that would be probable.
“That’s a start, I guess.” Patton turned and reached for the door handle before getting out. He closed the door and looked back down at his phone while waiting for his mother to follow.
She hopped out of the car and paid the parking for their spot before heading to a nearby building. The streets were already filled with people going about their day in the early morning. She walked a few buildings down before she stopped and looked over her shoulder. Patton looked up at the unassuming building before his mother continued on. People passed by the front desk and headed for the elevators which Patton could only assume were all filled with offices for all different businesses.
This is where Roman was? In some office in a giant building? Patton glanced around at the people in business attire going about their day, unaware of what was happening to his best friend inside.
“Margaret?” Patton turned as someone approached his mother with a confused expression on his face. “I thought you left a while ago.” The stranger’s gaze slowly looked up at Patton. “And who is this?”
Wait a minute.
“This is my son! He works at the city library. I thought he could help us with our project. Maybe he’ll shed some light on the subject.”
Isn’t that…?
The man seemed super friendly. He smiled down at Maggie and shook his head. “Thank you for thinking of us but we’re gonna try to keep eyes off of that project for now.”
Patton immediately got the hidden meaning. ‘We’re not letting people look at Prince Charging right now.’ Why? Why the sudden change? Did they figure out Roman’s identity already? Looking at the older man, Patton immediately knew this wasn’t the first time he saw him. He shoved his phone into his pocket.
This is the guy Clyde told me about.
“I’m sorry,” Patton stepped up and placed a hand on his mother’s shoulder. “She hasn’t really told me what this was about. Just something urgent. Is there no way I could help, Mr.-” Patton hesitated for a moment, hoping the man would respond.
He smiled and reached out a hand. “Call me Bruce.”
Patton grabbed his hand and shook it, repeating his name in his head so he didn’t forget it. “Nice to meet you. Are you sure there’s nothing I could do to help? I came all this way and I’m already late for work.”
Bruce let go and seemed apologetic. “No, I’m sorry. I put a hold on it for now due to a few things beyond our control. I thank you for wanting to help.” Bruce looked back to Maggie. “This is your son you’re always talking about, right? You raised a fine young man, Margaret.”
“Thank you, Bruce. Are you sure there’s no way we can’t just look?”
Bruce shook his head. “I’m afraid not. Sorry for making you come all this way again.”
“It’s fine,” Patton shrugged. “Whatever it was, if my mom really thinks I can help then we can try again another day.” He patted his mother on the shoulder. “Come on, I’m already late enough. You can tell me about it another day.”
“But, Patty-” Patton wrapped his arm around his mother’s shoulder and turned them towards the front door.
“It was nice meeting you, Bruce! Come on, mom, let’s go. Other people are trying to work.”
Patton waited until they were outside before he pulled out his phone and sent Logan a quick text. “Mom, what floor do you go to when you come here?”
“Oh, um… the fifteenth floor, why?”
Patton punched in the address and the floor number before pressing ‘send’. “That was all the proof I needed.” Patton immediately went into his contacts and started a call. The phone rang a few times before it picked up. “Clyde, listen. We need to meet up. I just met Bruce.”
“You’re absolutely sure about this, Thomas?” Logan asked again.
“I’m sure.” Thomas nodded. “There’s a lot going on right now and I want to help.”
Virgil walked back in, a fresh cup of coffee in his hand. “On one hand, I’m not sure how much training is gonna get done with everything going on.” Virgil blew on his coffee before taking a sip. “On the other hand, he’s already learned it before so maybe he’ll be faster this time. Besides, not sure how else we’re gonna find Roman so fast. It’s worth a try, especially since the fan club is helping look.”
“Then maybe you should put down the coffee and get some rest.” Virgil looked over to Elizabeth, Roman’s mother. “My boy is strong and you’re no help if you’re too tired.”
“Tell that to my brain,” Virgil grumbled and took another sip of coffee.
“Tell me more about these recipes, Liz! I’ve never tried Puerto Rican dishes before.”
“Oh, honey. We need to go food shopping together.” Liz seemed excited at the notion. “I know this grocery store that would be perfect to get you stocked up.”
“Perfect! Logan and Virgil can help!”
Virgil almost choked on his coffee as Logan gave Two a confused look. “I apologize if my inquiry seems a bit rude. We are getting brought into this how?”
“Well, Virgil is Roman’s boyfriend and Roman’s your best friend!” Two spoke as if it weren’t the most obvious thing in the world.
“Wha, wait, Roman is not my best friend!” Two kept smiling at Logan. “He is not!” Logan stood his ground for a moment before his face fell. “Oh, Roman’s my best friend.”
“That’s rough, buddy,” Virgil patted Logan on the back sympathetically.
A strange noise rang out and everyone looked at Logan as he pulled out his phone. He tapped on it a few times and froze.
“What is it?” Virgil peered over Logan’s shoulder and looked at his phone. His eyes shot open as he reread the screen.
Logan looked across the room toward Two. “It’s from Patton. It’s an address.”
“Logan, hold this for me, thanks,” Logan put up his hands to catch Virgil’s hot cup of coffee, dropping his phone in the process. Virgil was already scrolling on his phone and walking away.
Logan blinked before he reached a hand outwards, “Wait, Virgil, we should talk about this-” In an instant, Virgil was gone. “-before we do anything…” Logan finished and let out a sigh.
“He’s gone,” Liz stared at the spot Virgil vanished from. “He just disappeared.”
“Oh boy, it’s okay!” Two reached over to comfort Roman’s mother. “I guess we have a little more explaining to do.”
“Patton, wait,” Maggie cried out as she chased after her son. “I can drive you!”
“Go back home, mom. I need to meet up with the others so we can come up with a plan.” Patton looked around to find the nearest bus stop. He could figure out which line to take him closest to home from there.
“I want to help, sweetie!”
Patton stopped and spun around quickly. “Don’t you think you’ve done enough to help?”
“Wha, but I thought you forgave me! I thought we were getting along again.”
“This doesn’t erase the years of damage you’ve done, mom.” Maggie froze and Patton felt a pit in his stomach. “I appreciate you helping me now but as it said, this was a start. I can’t forgive you for years of you making me feel bad about who I am just because of one good thing you did.” The bustle of the city drowned them out and no one even gave them a second glance. “So this is where I ask you to stay out of it and let me know if you get any updates. Otherwise, leave this to me and my friends.”
“Wait,” Maggie reached out and grabbed Patton’s arm. “Please, just… Let me at least take you where you need to go. No questions, no talking. I’ll bring you wherever you need and I’ll leave.”
Patton stared down at his mother and sighed. He felt his anger slipping away immediately though not completely. This was his mother and despite it all, he did still love her. “Okay, you can drive me.”
“Good! Excellent! Let’s get back to my truck.” Maggie kept her grip on her son as they walked arm and arm back to the parking lot. “You spoke with someone on the phone, right? Where do they live?”
“Oh, um, actually, just take me home.” Patton pulled out his phone and immediately dialed a number. They picked up almost immediately. “Logan. Hey. I’m on my way back home.”
“Alright. Just a warning, Virgil’s already gone.”
“I’m not surprised. He didn’t reappear there?”
“No, we're not quite sure where he is right now.”
“Alright, no problem. I have to make one stop before I come back but I’ll explain everything then, okay?”
“Alright, please stay safe. We’ll see you soon.”
Patton and Maggie walked into the parking lot. Maggie reached to get into her car before she looked over at her son confused. “Do you need me to stop somewhere before I drop you off back home?”
“No.”
Maggie stared at her son for a moment before she pulled her door open. “Right, I won’t ask. Back home it is.”
When Margaret pulled up to her son’s building, she watched as he ran up the stairs of the porch and knocked on his neighbor’s door. He turned around and Maggie immediately turned her eyes away from him and back to the road. She pulled away from the curb and gripped her steering wheel as she drove off, wondering just how much she messed up her relationship with her son.
Roman was… Fine.
Except he was bored. Completely stir-crazy and stuck in an empty office in some random office building. In an empty conference room with no table or anything. The floor was carpeted and there was an outlet and Roman could feel it. He could feel the static from the floor and the charge running to the outlet. He could feel the electricity on his fingertips itching to be used. He wanted SOME sort of stimuli, anything to keep his mind off of the power itching to come out. Any distraction other than the faint pang of pain in his head. Though it was surprisingly feeling a lot better than it was just a few hours ago.
Roman knew he could break out but there was a voice in his head that sounded suspiciously like Logan telling him it was a bad idea and he knew it. He had convinced them that his powers weren’t real and he was sticking to it. It wasn’t worth the risk to everyone else. This was HIS mess and he was gonna think his way out of it.
Although hearing that Bruce guy knew someone with powers had him curious. And maybe Roman could have Clyde disguise himself as someone else so none of them REALLY had to reveal themselves. Though getting Clyde to agree would be difficult maybe this guy would understand if they didn’t want to meet him.
Roman sat up and groaned, rubbing his head. Okay, now he was pretty sure he was thinking too much and it was making his headache worse. But he didn’t know what else to do! And he couldn’t really burn off the energy he had, moving on the carpet only made it worse and-
POP
Roman was immediately tackled to the ground which caught him completely off guard. He didn’t think he was so distracted that he hadn’t heard the door open. He grabbed the person on top of him and looked at the door and, there it was, open and unguarded. Roman pushed with all his might but whoever had him wouldn’t loosen their grip around his neck. Roman shoved again, the stench of coffee filling his nose.
“Let go of me!” Roman leveraged himself and spun around, pinning the person beneath him, although they still didn’t let go. They also weren’t fighting either. Roman gripped the old sweater they were wearing, grabbed the hoodie, and pulled. “I said let-”
“Shut up you moron!” Virgil’s voice rang out loudly against his ear.
Roman froze and glanced around. The sound of nothing but their breathing filled the air. Then Roman pieced it together. The quietness, the pop, Virgil. Time must have stopped.
With a sigh of relief, Roman sat back and Virgl fell into his lap. “You found me.”
He could breathe. He was fine! In an entire city of people, his friends had found him. In only a few hours to boot! Roman was sure he’d have to plan an escape later tonight.
Roman hugged Virgil closer and felt the stress he had been holding disappear. “I’m so sorry I made you worry.” Roman waited for a response before nudging Virgil a bit. “Hey, please. I really am sorry!” Virgil’s arms fell down a bit and Roman nudged him again. “Uh, Virge?” Still no answer. “Virgil, are… Did you fall asleep?!”
“Just you?” Clyde looked at Patton through the screen door. “Fine by me. Come on up.”
Patton tugged the door open and made his way to the second-floor apartment Clyde and Leslie shared. “I didn’t talk to him for long so I don’t have much to say.”
Clyde vaguely motioned to the couch for Patton to sit before he began pacing the floor. “You’re absolutely sure it was him?”
Patton sat down on the couch and nodded. “Yeah, a few more grays in his hair but that was him.”
Clyde stopped pacing and faced Patton. “Where were you? What were you doing?”
“Well, you remember the APC thing? That club that’s against Prince Charging?” Clyde nodded. “Well, turns out my mother was a part of it? She sort of revealed it on accident but I got her to bring me there to see him. This guy, Bruce, stopped us at the door.”
“And?” Clyde marched over to the couch. “What was he like?”
Patton frowned and shrugged. “He seemed nice?”
Clyde scoffed and rolled his eyes. “You’re an empath and all you can tell me was he seemed nice?”
“Oh,” Patton became a bit stoic. “That. Well, he strangely seemed a bit,” Patton struggled to find the right word. “He seemed excited about something.”
Clyde seemed irritated by this news and let out his frustrations. “Auugh of course he was! Still so full of himself! Gosh, I hate him sometimes!”
“Clyde, who is this guy? Should we be worried?”
Clyde quickly fell into a sitting position on the floor. “I had hoped that he would have stopped this by now but I guess I was too optimistic.” Clyde huffed out a laugh. “Imagine, me? Too optimistic?”
“Clyde?”
Clyde shot an annoyed look at Patton. “As much as I loathe to admit this,” Clyde spat out. “That jackass is my father.”

edupunkn00b — Meus ex Machina - Masterpost (tumblr.com)
A hand-inked abstract image of Remus in his imagined Mad Lads green and black uniform. Roman's head is attached to his right shoulder by a long, twisted neck. Remus' left eye is larger, seeing more of the world than exists. Purple flowers and gnarled trees are in the background, with an orange swath that could be a road, could be flames encroaching in the distance.
PS. Joining @sandersidesbigbang for the first time and it was pretty fun!! Wanted to try doing abstract art so yee here it is.

“So, what’s your plan?”
Janus turned his body slightly toward Machina but kept his posture open and unguarded. Despite the logs crackling in the fireplace, his words left behind a little puff of steam in the drafty cabin. “I take it by the mech—and the fact you’re hiding in the woods—that you’ve probably burned some bridges at the University.”
“Abracadabra did the burning. I just—” Machina looked away, jaw trembling.
“Stole a mech from your old lab?” Janus raised an eyebrow at Machina’s surprised expression and tilted his chin toward the ironfilm frame. “I was there when your former employer donated the mechs to your former school.” He pointed to a small marking by the left boot. “You're wearing one of the originals.”
“So,” Janus dragged over a small chair and turned it to face Machina. He sat down, crossing one leg over the other and leaning with one elbow tucked behind him on the backrest. “What’s your plan?” He gestured around them. “Do you have a black market connection for food and provisions? What will you do when your firewood runs out? What about when winter's over? The sign at the head of the trail says this building is due for demolition this summer so they can build a children’s park here.”
Machina was silent.
“You could probably survive here for…” Janus looked around the musty room. “A few weeks, maybe? You could go dumpster diving at night if the University cafeteria doesn’t keep the bins inside to guard from animals.” He narrowed his eyes and let the silence sit between them for several minutes. “You should know, though…" Machina's eyes flicked toward him. "You have other options.”
“Like what?" Machina snapped, glaring down at him. "Surrendering to you?”
Janus remained still, one hand dangling by his side, the other resting in his lap.
Machina stomped backwards. “I’m not going anywhere with you. You think I’ll leave here just so you can take me into custody?”
“I am not interested in what laws you may or may not have broken. I am here because of what you did at the distribution center.”
“I had no idea about the nerve gas—” Machina moved further away, holding up his arms defensively.
“I’m not talking about the riot gas, Machina,” Janus said quietly. “I’m not talking about anything that happened yesterday.”
Machina stopped moving and stared.
“I’m talking about when you saved those people. The day you were hurt.”
Tears welled in his eyes and he clenched his jaw. “I do not wish to talk about that.”
“I know.” Janus set both feet on the ground and leaned forward. “But we need to.” Machina turned from him but he didn’t speak. “I remember you. I remember that day. You came up to the fourth floor to see Ondas. I checked the logs. I know it was you. Why?” He softened his voice. “Why were you there?”
Machina wouldn’t look at him. “She called me to her office.”
“So I gathered. But why?”
He didn’t answer.
Janus stood but kept his hands still by his sides. “Was it because of your health and safety report on the Picker Bot that ended up going berserk?”
Machina nodded once. “Ondas told me my supervisor was fired for letting me file that report.”
“He was.” Janus stepped closer. “It’s what they do.” He took another step. “Abracadabra is going to try to cover up what happened yesterday, as well. And not just the anti-riot measures. If they get their hands on you—”
“What do you expect me to do about it? I’m a crippled, unemployed, unemployable Powerless,” he spat the word like the epithet it was.
“I want you to come work on our team, Logan.”
“What?”
“I know your hearing isn’t damaged,” Janus smirked lightly at him, stepping closer when he didn’t object to the use of his first name. “I checked your records.”
“I’m a criminal.” He banged his ironfilm hands against his chest and winced. “A thief. A—a—a murderer.” Tears started to fall down his cheeks. “If you hadn’t’ve stopped me, I—”
“Attempted murderer, perhaps,” Janus said quietly. He now stood directly in front of Logan, close enough to touch. He smiled up at him, finally capturing his gaze.
“You’ll fit right in.”
~
Machina and Janus hiked in silence for most of the six mile journey back to the Mad Lads' HQ. About a mile into the journey, they nearly stumbled right into a pair of teenagers smoking Blist.
“This journey is tricky enough with my powers, Logan,” he muttered once he’d fought past Machina’s suppression coils to seed a touch of paranoia in the teens’ minds. Giggling nervously, they’d taken off, headed closer to the trails. And away from the path to HQ.
“If you would allow me the use of my suit’s proximity alarms—”
“No,” Janus snapped. “Out of the question. Your mech would’ve been caught on at least a hundred cameras and sensors when you attacked the DC.” He tromped alongside Machina’s lumbering mechanical walk. “You’ll be picked up in an instant and they’ll take me with you.” Brow furrowed, he frowned up at him. “And if I’m forced to choose between you and all of HQ, one guess which way I’ll go.”
It was an idle threat and they both knew it. Or at least Janus thought they both knew. With the damned dampening coil, he had no way to know for sure what was going on in that head. With his luck, Machina had brain damage with his other injuries and was scheming to—
Stop. He took a deep breath. Machina had had dozens of opportunities to harm him and the rest of the Mad Lads during the rescue mission at the distribution center. In fact, he could have fled the moment he’d discovered what that button did. Instead, he’d remained and worked alongside them to tear open that death trap and save his—former—coworkers.
They walked in silence. True, full silence, no other thoughts or impressions, just the chirps and chitters of the last remaining songbirds and pigeons, and the faint rustle of invasive rats in the underbrush.
They were more than half-way there when Machina’s servos began to whine. Not loudly enough to make detection a concern, but enough that he reached over his shoulder and flipped open a solar panel on his back. His eyes darted away when he noticed Janus watching. “I was unprepared for a long journey on foot,” he said, voice cracking. Despite the winter weather, he was sweating in the durasteel suit.
“It seems as though you were prepared,” Janus offered with a pointed look at the solar panel. “You’ve brought provisions for yourself. Speaking of,” he murmured and stopped to open the satchel at his side. He retrieved two reusable plasteel bottles and offered one to Machina.
Machina eyed the cap and then the large hands of his suit. Without comment, Janus opened the bottle and passed it to him before opening his own and taking a long drink.
“Thank you,” he said, sipping carefully.
Janus drank a little more then capped his bottle and put it away. “Are you hungry? I have energy gels. They're meant to be banana flavored, but those haven’t been around in so long no-one knows if they hit the mark or not,” he said with a little shrug. “They do the job.”
He shook his head. “I’m alright. The benefit of lower muscle mass.” He wiggled one mechanical arm, the tiny hand movement required to work the controller in his suit hidden beneath layers of durasteel and plastifilm.
“Indeed.” He huffed out half a laugh and popped a neon yellow-colored gel drop in his mouth and waited for Machina to drink his fill before capping his bottle and resuming their hike.
~
A low, musical trill announced the outer perimeter proximity alarms had been triggered. Virgil frowned and moved to the flashing screen. “Janus would’ve checked in before he hit the first ring. Princey?” He looked over his shoulder when the cameras were slow to load.
Roman closed his eyes, concentrating. “I can’t hear him. Well, neither of them. They could still be too far away?” His ordinarily confident voice trilled up, turning his statement into a question.
The screen resolved and Virgil swore. “They’ve hit the second perimeter already. Something’s wrong.”
“What?” Roman rushed over and peered over his shoulder at the screen.
“What’s up, Kiddos?” Patton said, muting the alarms. “I was downstairs with—”
Roman whipped around, eyes wide. “Is he—”
“He’s fine. Improved,” Patton nodded, squeezing Roman’s shoulder with a little smile. “Do we know what triggered the alarm?”
Taking a deep breath, Roman nodded and pointed at the screen. “Janus and the Powerless—”
Patton’s silently raised eyebrow was enough to interrupt him. Roman rolled his eyes. “Janus and the guy in the mech suit are back but I can’t hear either of them.”
“They’ve already crossed the second perimeter.” Virgil pointed to the screen where it had already switched over to the nearest bank of remote cameras. “Princey can always read him by now.”
Jaw clenched, Patton crossed his arms and stared at the vidfeed. “Janus doesn’t look distressed, but…” As they passed the last camera before they reached the path to HQ, Janus looked directly at the camera and waved. “Stay on alert,” he finally said. “Something’s off but if he was in danger he would’ve used that as his chance to signal.”
“Unless he’s being controlled,” Virgil muttered, zooming in on the next bank of cameras, watching their progress from afar.
“He has no powers.” Roman shook his head. “He’s just a squishy Traditional body in a tin can.”
“Well, they’ll be tired after their hike.” Patton clapped both their shoulders. “I’ll make us all something to nibble on while we get to know each other. Ro?” he asked, bumping his shoulder with a little smile. “Wanna help?”
~
“Is that a camera?” Logan asked, twigs cracking under heavy durasteel feet as he turned on the spot, staring suspiciously at the trees surrounding them.
“It is,” Silvertongue said calmly. “The team will have been watching our progress since we triggered the perimeter alarms a quarter mile back.”
“My sensors…” He turned his head, activating an additional monitor hidden near the collar of his suit and scanned the logs. He shook his head with a scowl. “My sensors didn’t pick up any electronics back there.”
“They wouldn’t,” Silvertongue nodded. “You and Ultraviolet will get along nicely. It was his idea to shield them.” He smirked, “‘What good’s a secret base if everyone can see your fence?’”
They broke through the last of the trees and stepped out onto a long, winding brick-lined path. At the end stood HQ.
Logan frowned at the peeling paint on the ancient, bowed slats, dusty curtains drawn shut over wooden, double-hung windows. Thick, overgrown patches of bull thistle and horsetail surrounded the property, choking the edges of the paths between the forest and a ramshackle old storage shed behind the house. Veils of Virginia creeper and wisteria crawled up the sides of it, partially obstructing the lower windows in their race toward the sun.
Even in bright daylight, the interior of the house appeared… dark. Abandoned.
“Home sweet home,” Silvertongue murmured. “Once upon a time, it had been a museum.”
“Are you certain it’s not still a museum?” He scowled at the tiny side door just visible through the trees and looked down at his suit, clearly making the same mental calculation Silvertongue had as he’d left on his mission.
“Certainly looks like it, doesn’t it?” he smiled. “It’s the childhood home of some author. The Bear knows her name, but most of her history was lost to the Purge of ‘27.” They resumed their walk, heading toward the derelict-looking side building. “He and I bought it back in the '90s when Old Boston was desperate to fund the Great Retreat.”
Logan had stopped walking, eyeing the height of the big, double doors. It looked to be a tight fit. “This way,” Silvertongue urged, waving him on gently.
He hadn’t lost his scowl. “Are you certain the floors can even handle the weight of my suit?”
“Let’s get closer,” Silvertongue smiled. “You’ll see.”
Flipping his solar panels back into their case, he lowered his helmet and faceguard. Sealed up in the mech suit, he looked just like a Picker Bot. All the more reason to avoid his own reflection.
Despite the signal of distrust, or perhaps because he was now so shielded, Logan followed Silvertongue's lead, the dull thunking steps of his mech suit the only sound between them.
They drew closer and, after a few more paces, Machina gasped when the ramshackle wooden house dissolved, replaced by a gleaming, very modern edifice. Polished durasteel walls stretched up between the trees, all curves and sleek angles. “What?” he spat, stepping closer. He flipped back his helmet and faceplate, craning his neck to stare up at the five-story silver durasteel building. “How?” he demanded, meeting Silvertongue’s eyes.
“The Prince,” he smiled. “The one in the red suit you ran from at the DC. He’s… powerful.” Silvertongue peeled off one glove and placed it against the wall. “By now he’ll realize your esper blocker is interfering with his Illusion. I’m going to have to insist you—”
“Turn the fucking machine off or I will!” A layered voice boomed through a hidden speaker. “Silvertongue’s shoes are rubber. Yours aren’t.” Electricity crackled through the air. “How many volts can that rusty bucket take before you fry, too?”
“V… Stand down,” Silvertongue said quietly, holding Machina’s gaze. The electricity abruptly stopped but he didn’t look away. “Logan, we need Prince's Illusions to stay safe. You’re one of us now. Drop the Esper field.”
With a sigh, Machina worked his controls and the old clapboard house returned to their view. “Thank you,” Silvertongue nodded. “Please.” He pressed the wall again and half of it disappeared, the illusion fizzling on the edges as the doorframe expanded to fill the gap. Warm air kissed their faces, and the brushed durasteel floor gleamed invitingly.
“Welcome to HQ.”

i havent posted my own art images I'm so sorry I have such a backlog of unposted art prommy <3
This is from ages ago I wasn't planning on actually posting it tbh considering how sketchy it is. It was the defenition of doodling lmao. I was visualizing the feelings of the last scene in The Weight of Want & The Right Choice. Chromia's outfits is,,,, so bad,,,, this is absolutly 1000% not what his outfit looks like in canon I promise I was struggling and just wanted to draw the silly scene.
You can see my doodles to the side of Soctt's costume progression from Aeor, to Chromia, back to Aeor but new. All concepts but yeah,,, also bonus unfinsihed pearl in the corner. Doesn't even look like her I was just imagining the scene where we see her in the distance following Scotts betrayal of The Corruption and you just know she is pissed

These guys came to me in a dream
Tumblr media
Uh, here's what happened in the dream
So in the dream, Michael, Garrett and Elizabeth were all alive circa 1993, but for some reason they had superpowers?? Like, Mike could see ghosts and Garrett could teleport and I forgot what Elizabeth had, but she was the most dangerous. Anyways, my first thought after waking up was "new AU idea???" So, should I make this a AU?
IDK what I should make Elizabeth's power, since they kinda matched with their respective robots, so maybe shape shifting (bc, well- using someone as a skin suit is aligned with that kinda)? Either way, pretty cool idea that came to me in a dream.

More superpower au headcanons because I have so many ideas:
-Soap hates taking showers. It’s not because he doesn’t like to be clean, or that he doesn’t like the smell warm water, it’s that he likes to sing in the shower, and sometimes that can accidentally set off his powers if he gets too into it, and the burns afterwards aren’t pleasant.
-Gaz gets up to the cheekiest shit when he’s using his powers. He likes to scare Soap, which in turn causes a small fire, which Gaz has to help put out. He has never ended up with fire to his face but Soap always says it can be arranged if he carries on.
-Ghost has never managed to put Price under his control. He’s not sure why, he tries all the time in meetings, and somehow Price knows when he’s trying it.
“Simon.”
“Hm?”
“Are you trying to mind control me?”
“No.”
“….”
“Yes.”
He can just never seem to get past his metaphorical brain firewall.
Sometimes he thinks that Price’s power is mind reading.
MW3 Spoilers Ahead!
You know for a fact the one time that John had to use his necromancy powers was to bring back Johnny when he was shot in the head.
The longer they’ve been dead, the worse they are when they come back. (Worse being motor functions, how their skin is, that kind of thing.)
Price did try to bring him back on the spot, but the other two stopped him because he still had the bullet in his head. It’s safe to say he used his unwanted power as soon as he came out of surgery.
“John…”
“Ye used it didnae ye?”
“I had to. I couldn’t lose you, son.”
“…Did it hurt?”
“That’s not for you to worry about, I just need you to rest.”
“Is that how come ye dinnae lik' it? Cos it hurts?”
“Do I need to make that an order, sergeant?”
“Away ‘n bile yer heid.”
“Love you too, son.”
The damage wasn’t too bad, but he had to have physical therapy to improve his motor functions again (and that damn knee). Let’s say he had a couple of months leave on base.
