okay hear me out... mike schmidt with goth!fem!reader (be warned: i'm not goth so this might not be very accurate lol)

he met you while he was working at the mall, eyed you from across hot topic. despite your intimidating black clothes, chains, and eye makeup, you had one of the sweetest smiles he'd ever seen, instantly drawing him to you. you said good morning to the worker with one of those perfect smiles and he immediately felt butterflies in his stomach.

he started hanging out at the hot topic more frequently. he began to pick up on your schedule, too. you'd usually come on Saturday's between 12-3pm, circle through the food court and your favorite stores (one time he even caught you at Victoria's Secret, but didn't go in, for obvious reasons). he felt a little creepy, but it wasn't like he was stalking you, just keeping you safe (this was his bullshit excuse). some part of you was simply magnetic, pulling him in like a siren, wrapping him around your finger so tightly he never wanted to be let go.

after a few weeks or so of this same routine, he got fired for beating up a man in broad daylight, and had to get a shitty job at Fazbear's Pizzeria. the only part of that job he missed was you, but his yearning would soon come to an end. he went on various apps, websites, whatever he could to find a babysitter for abby while he was at work, when he found your profile on one of the apps. you were around his age, lived in the same town, and were looking for a job as a babysitter. perfect! he got in contact with you shortly after, and you were fast to reply. you set up a day, time and location, and the next night you were there, knocking on his door.

it was as if the closer he got to you, the prettier you were. pink lips overlined with black liner, flared black jeans paired with a Siouxsie and The Banshees t-shirt, eyeliner so sharp it could probably poke him and black converse covered in doodles. you were more casual than usual, obviously, but god, you were beautiful. you hit him with one of your dazzling smiles, introduced yourself to him and abby (abby instantly liked you), and he went off to work, the scent of your sandalwood perfume on his mind.

you got closer over the months you babysat abby. he came home early in the morning, but you always made breakfast (not only were you beautiful, but amazingly sweet). he didn't pay you as consistently as you originally hoped he would, but you were begin to grow a crush on him, so you didn't really mind. it got to the point where you two even exchanged numbers, using work as an excuse, but you mostly talked and sent memes to each other. but what he admired most about you is how good you were with abby. you guys drew together, watched cartoons together, laughed together, you even did tarot readings for her. abby would fill him in on every little detail of your night together, start to finish. she adored you, and you adored her, which only made him fall harder for you.

the love confession was unexpected, but really sweet. he had invited you over for dinner before he went to work, which he often did, but after you put abby to bed and sat down on the couch with him...

"thanks for everything you do for us." he blurted suddenly. your face suddenly felt very warm, and you bashfully replied.

"it's no big deal, really. i like spending time with abby..." fuck it, you thought. "and with you." you stared at each other for a moment, tension in the air, before he kissed you. slowly, softly, easing you into it. it got heated quickly, and one thing left to another, and he was forty minutes late for work (but it was so worth it).

SUMMARY:

While spending some alone time in Ramshackle, you texted back and forth with Kalim. It was late and you were finally winding down for the day. And when he prepares to send you a funny video on MagiCam, he copy and pasted the wrong link...

You laid in bed while scrolling through your phone, Grim was asleep downstairs on the couch and you didn’t have the heart to wake him up for bedtime with you. It was reaching the midnight hour as you sent another silly video to Kalim. The two of you had been texting back and forth since you made it back to Ramshackle once classes ended for the day. And that was hours ago.

The texts never fell dry, never awkward. It was always fun when you talked with him over text or even over call. Kalim would often send you links to MagiCam posts he liked. Usually it was a meme or cute video. You of course would send one back.

Over the last half hour, his messages began to slow down, and you assumed he was getting tired. You didn’t mind, and he knew that. When he was ready to sleep, he was always the first to wish you goodnight with a long string of emojis. Kalim laughed in response to the short video you sent, he prepared to send another back to you.

[Kalim]: Look at this one! Let's try it sometime!

[Kalim]: ★⌒ヽ(●’､＾●)

You opened the link that appeared to have no preview image with a soft smile. Tonight, the post was something you were sure he didn’t mean to share with you. And you wondered if this was why his messages began to slow down. With wide eyes and burning cheeks you choked down a gasp. It was a MagiCam post, but it was from a ‘certain side’ of the platform that was always under the radar. The account name was just ‘Nutmeg’ and it was a video of a gorgeous young woman smirking at the screen. Her hair was a reddish-brown, pulled back into a ponytail as she admired a man’s erection who was only visible from the waist down. She bobbed her head slowly and elegantly, her violet eyes flicking from the camera to the man who’s strong, bulky thighs wouldn’t stop quivering. You prepared mentally in how to respond to the video link Kalim had sent until the next roll of texts came flooding in.

You could practically see him pacing around his room in a panicked state. How he would be collapsing on his floor in shame with his face in his palms. You didn’t think Kalim had a single bone in his body that would cause him to watch videos like this. Especially the raunchier ones you could only find on the adult side of MagiCam. The girl is super pretty too…

But, Kalim is a guy. And watching these kinds of videos comes with the territory. But you never expected a guy like Kalim to look into stuff like this. He was that pure boy with his head in the clouds and a sunny smile no one could hate. Innocent in every way. To think that he dreamed of things like this… To picture him watching erotic videos with a flushed face and half-lidded eyes… It left you flushed.

[Kalim]: ILL BUY YOU A HOUSE IF YOU FORGIVE ME!!!!!!!!!

The text made you snort as you felt the heat in your face start to fade. It was an accident. You texted back quickly that it was fine, a simple mistake and there was nothing for him to be flustered over. But as you paused over the phone’s keyboard a curiosity began to fill you. You admitted that you watched things like that from time to time as well.

[Kalim]: Well what ones do you watch?

It would be weird if it was anyone other than Kalim. You knew Ace and Deuce shared links with each other after a disgusting group chat conversation you didn’t want to be a part of. But maybe it was just different with Kalim? You didn’t feel uncomfortable talking about this with him. Just sheepish.

You responded quickly to say it was fine. You looked away in thought as you recalled videos that stuck out to you, or you often returned to during your alone time. Even going as far as to mention a creator or two you often lurked around. You mentioned that the girl in the video was gorgeous anyway, so you could understand the appeal Kalim saw. Your heart began to pick up speed as you glanced towards the door, then back at your phone while Kalim began texting a response. You decided to ask him if ‘Miss. Nutmeg’ was the only account he liked. It was a teasing question, nothing too serious or inappropriate. But since you shared, you only felt that it was fair for him to do the same.

[Kalim]: I have a few that I like.

[Kalim]: I use an alt MagiCam account to follow them.

[Kalim]: Ill show you!

The next text was a screenshot of an account with a black profile picture. You made mental note of the username ‘coconutzdeep’ and the lack of photos posted to the account. But, the likes and bookmarks weren’t locked. You quickly went to stalk through the treasure trove, looking through the bookmarks with a now burning face. Girls tied up in ribbons, intimate sex in crystal clear pools, lust filled group sex, and lots and lots of oral. You couldn’t imagine Kalim doing any of this with anyone. The more you swiped against your phone screen, a heat began to settle deep within your core. It got stronger the more you realized this was not some faceless stranger’s perverted interests. The text sent your thighs snapping around your hand. You felt like he had caught you in the act, even without you telling him what you were doing. But you responded quickly, telling him it was fine. The phone only needed to ring once before you answered and held it up to your ear. Kalim was already breathless on the other end. He said nothing, but you could tell where this could be going. Your body relaxed and you parted your thighs, swiping at the thin sheet of sweat with a soft sigh. “Hey… Can we..?” He trailed off on the other end before nervously stammering. “Y’know… Cause it’s different when it’s the two of us but… I think it could make it… Fun?” He suggested, progressively getting more bold. Initial thoughts on Double and Neoplasm - Who is guilty? What's true and what's a lie?

Hello! This is a (fairly long, sorry) post analysing the MV for Double, as well as Neoplasm, and what it means for Mikoto, Orekoto, a potential 3rd alter, their relationship as a whole, and Mikoto's judgement.

Note: I am a system myself, I am usually not very open about this so please don't ask about the details. But I think it's important to state that I do struggle with a lot of the same stuff Mikoto* does, and so my perception of it comes from a level of understanding that singlets may not have.

Obviously this contains spoilers for both Double and Neoplasm, I would recommend you watch/listen to both beforehand. This is also just my initial interpretation, I have purposefully avoided any other posts about it to make my theory/interpretation as straightforward and from-the-source as possible.

Some terminology notes: I will be using John to refer to Orekoto, as Es has so thoughtfully dubbed him. Also, if I say MILGRAM in all caps I am referring to the project itself, and if I say Milgram in title case I am referring to the location/entity which Es works for. I also believe the 3koto theory, which will become relevant at various points here. Any translators or sources will be linked at the end.

Alright, let's get into it. Music video analysis:

Double - Visual Motifs

There are a lot of visual elements to Double, which I will break down into different sections.

Phone (& Tarot)

There are two major instances of Mikoto's phone being important in the song: Right at the beginning, when he's getting several texts and then an incoming call from "Chief" (almost certainly his boss), and in the middle of the song, when he gets a call from his mom. In the beginning, Mikoto* doesn't even look at the texts, and when he answers the call, he seems to barely be listening.

Translation of the texts are as follows (thank you rochisama on wordpress!):

- Regarding the first draft you submitted today, I think option B might be the best after all, so can you remake it by morning.

- Also, I forgot to mention, but you made a lot of mistakes with the one we spoke about earlier, so make sure it’s all fixed too. This one also needs to be ready by morning, so I’ll leave it to you to get everything ready.

- Oi, get back here now.

- Are you going to abandon your duties?

There are also two fun little details here with the phone: His lock screen is a picture of the Hanged Man, the same version that was on his shirt in MeMe:

Later in the song, when his mom calls him, he immediately picks up, greets her energetically despite the bags under his eyes, and informs her he's doing well and not to worry.

"Oh, hello? Mom? It’s been a while. Yeah… well, I mean, some days are hard, but… I’m doing alright, don’t worry. How’ve you been? I’ll go home next time I get some time off."

He also hangs up very quickly, as if he doesn't want to talk to her. He gives her placating words and then ends the conversation as soon as he can.

According to his S1 Interrogation questions, Mikoto's family consists of him, his mom, and his younger sister. His parents are divorced. He gets along well with both his mom and sister, but also states that he can't let his mom worry. This checks out with him hiding the truth from her, as letting her know just how badly he's doing would certainly cause concern. Keep all this in mind, it will become important later on.

Eyes

I don't have much of note to say about it right now, but eyes are a pretty heavy visual motif throughout the whole video.

One thing I will say about it, though, is the large eyes across the whole screen show up twice: Once as orange, symbolizing John, and then as a grey-blue, symbolizing Mikoto.

Colors

There are five important colors: Blue, Green, Red/Orange, and Pink.

I'm grouping red and orange because I believe they both symbolize John. Blue is obviously Mikoto.

As I've mentioned, I am a fan of the 3koto theory- The visuals in the MV for MeMe, and even the composition itself, allude to 3 different entities (Music theory nerd here, hehe - I wanna write my own take on the 3koto theory eventually and talk about the way the song itself changes, but that's for another time.) And now in Double, it seems like there is still that imagery, albeit much less strongly than before.

So green, like in MeMe, symbolizes Midori/Midokoto/whatever you wanna call him. Pink is a little bit of a weird one, so I'll get to that in the moment. Anyway, let's start with some John moments.

The red glow in the back shows that John is the one fronting in all three of these shots, with Mikoto being asleep behind him in the second one.

An example of blood splatters with an orange tint. This is part of the reason I think both orange and red symbolize Mikoto, since they're so interconnected here. Also, as mentioned in the eyes section, the eyes there are very orange whereas John is usually associated with red.

Speaking of eyes,

Huge 3koto implications in a few frames from this shot. John's body flashes green at one point, and the background and fire-halo are green when John's eyes are glowing orange. In the next image, the body's eyes are scribbled over in green. This scene in particular is very interesting to me, with both implications of Midori's existence and his connection to the eye motif. It also calls John "savior"

Here's another notable instance of 3koto near the beginning, right after John throws Mikoto's phone. Notice the color progression in the scene. Green background with blue text, down to red background and red text. John is clearly being portrayed as an outsider here, with Midori and Mikoto being a duo.

Going back to blood splatters, there are various points in the video where the "inverse" of the blood is either green or blue. This also checks out with both red and orange being John's colors; Blue is the opposite of orange, and green is the opposite of red. This also doubles (haha) as another example of John being the opposite of MikoMido

The train itself has a lot of green highlights. When John stares out the door into the other train cars, it flashes green a few times. It's not pictured here, but the door also flashes a staticky pink once, and so does Mikoto's body earlier in that same scene I showed where it's fully green.

Alright, more on pink now. I'm actually not entirely sure what it may symbolise, but my main guess is it's Mikoto's victims.

Aside from the instances mentioned above, these are the most prominent pink scenes in the video. Similar to how orange was juxtaposed against both blue and green, here it's against blue. In context, these scene also seems to me like a switch, a realization of what Mikoto has done. A brief instance where his memories coexist with him, and he's horrified at his actions.

Double - Overall Analysis

As pointed out in the colors section above, Midori seems to be very present still. He seems to be haunting the video in a way, lying just underneath the surface.

A really important aspect of DID that hasn't been directly addressed by MILGRAM is the fact that it's caused by childhood trauma, usually around the ages 9 to 10 or younger. For those who don't know, this is because young kids have not fully formed their identity and sense of self yet. Usually, kids will eventually consolidate all their various parts into one, which becomes their sense of self. But trauma literally changes how the brain works on several levels, and for some kids, that interrupts the process of those parts fusing together. (This is also why there's discourse behind the idea of an "original" personality - Which one is the "original" between a pair of identical twins, for example? One cell divided into two, so really neither of them are that first cell.)

My theory for Mikoto's childhood trauma and subsequent DID symptoms, is that Mikoto in his current form is the body's "first" alter, and that Midori was the original host. (I have several reasons for believing it's this and not the other way around, but it's not that important for this post. But do think about, "I'm already the fake one.")

We know that John specifically was created as a result of Mikoto's job stress, meaning he was obviously not around when Mikoto and Midori were kids. By the time the events of MILGRAM roll around, it seems like Midori is completely dormant, or at least very rarely fronts, as John seems to pretty clearly imply just his and Mikoto's existence in both Double and Neoplasm. But if John wasn't around when Mikoto was a kid, there has to have been at least one other alter throughout the course of Mikoto's life. You don't just suddenly develop DID at age 23 without having had it since you were traumatized (Unless the MILGRAM team is just clueless about DID, which is possible too but imo they've done a pretty decent job so far so I would rather believe in 3koto. I have faith in them, maybe that'll bite me in the ass eventually, who knows).

Mikoto's childhood trauma is not very clear, but I think it can be one of two main things, and they are likely connected: Either something to do with his parents' divorce, or the reason he is so against worrying his mom.

Mikoto clearly loves his mother a lot, but it seems like doesn't trust her on some level. He doesn't want her to worry, which is an understandable emotion, especially if she puts a lot of pressure on him to perform well, which I have a feeling is the case. (Full disclosure, I could be projecting my own experiences here, because I have had these same struggles with my own mom pressuring me to do well in school and such. But I think it's worth mentioning)

Mikoto clearly hates his job, but he doesn't get a new one. Referencing the Interrogation again, while he seems to enjoy the career path he's on (ie graphic design), the job he currently has is purely to make money, and not for his enjoyment. He also mentions in the Interrogation that he hopes someday he can start his own indie company. In the real world, it's actually very common for graphic designers to start with jobs in advertising, because it makes a lot of money. Then once they have enough to support themselves, they go on to projects they're more passionate about. So Mikoto's reasons for sticking with his advertising job could be either to make money or to satisfy his mom, or both. Again, I could very much be projecting here.

Now onto his dad and the divorce. I won't lie, I am not at all an expert in Japanese law, but I'm fairly familiar with US law because my mom is a lawyer here. So how it usually how it works in the US is that parents divide custody by either working out a schedule or by simply choosing which kid goes with which parent, unless one parent is abusive, in which case all kids go to the non-abusive parent. In Japan, however, apparently the mom is the default parent that kids go to, regardless of other situations, except in some extreme cases probably. Again, not an expert, but it seems that even if Mikoto's mom was abusive in some way, the court system would still give Mikoto and his sister over to her, especially if her form of abuse is purely psychological with no physical evidence. So this is one possibility, but even if both parents were good people and separated on friendly terms, divorce can be traumatizing for kids. It's unclear at what age Mikoto's parents divorced, but it seems to have been long enough ago that he doesn't even consider his dad part of his family. Meaning it's very possibly the main source of trauma that cause Mikoto's DID.

Neoplasm

Alright, finally it's time for the audio drama! This is a much shorter section, but there's a LOT here and I'm really excited about this one actually, because it seems like a step in the right direction for Mikoto and accepting John. He doesn't know it's DID, nor does Es try to tell him, but he acknowledges it as "sleepwalking", which is still super huge. If Kotoko and Es ever choose to inform him, it seems like they have a much better chance at getting across to him now than when MILGRAM started.

John being much more present and coherent is also big news, as he has a full on conversation with Es, and even receives a name from them. Although he expresses concern about this and "wishes he had stayed a monster", I honestly think this is amazing for both him and Mikoto. Along with the sleepwalking analogy, it's progress on their ability to accept themselves and each other.

John also sheds some light on his and/or Mikoto's murder, claiming that there were several indiscriminate victims, and that his memories are also fuzzy, citing that it's likely because he had only recently been born. To me, the most interesting part of this is the fact that John's memories are not intact. While he seems to think it's just due to not really being used to being alive, I think there's another explanation for it. Fuzzy memories are a very common symptom of DID, and most notably happens when one alter tries to access another alter's memories, often because they're being blocked. Maybe in a similar way to how Mikoto doesn't remember anything? 🤔

Another important thing here is that John claims that he is the one who killed people. But the most pressing question is, is he telling the truth?

We know that Milgram's criteria for what counts as murder and who counts as the perpetrator is very loose; For example, Yuno's abortions are enough to qualify her, and Fuuta doxxing Killcheroy is enough to qualify him. So it's not a stretch to think that maybe John really is the killer, and that Milgram just picked Mikoto as the person to be judged since he's the "main" alter. But this honestly doesn't sit right with me.

If there's one thing we know for certain about John and his dynamic with Mikoto, it's that he would do anything to ensure Mikoto's safety. Notice how he was incredibly nonchalant about the murder until Es pointed out that even with psychological evaluation taken into account, the death penalty is still very likely for Mikoto. As soon as they allude to Mikoto being in danger, John's attitude immediately switches, claiming over and over, very relentlessly, that he was the sole killer, and that Mikoto is innocent. His frantic behaviour is a very clear sign that this is survival mode; why would he tell Es the truth if it could put Mikoto in danger?

All of this really goes back to the major differences between them; Mikoto is honest and uses humor to cope, John avoids being open and lashes out at people. Mikoto straight up blocks all the bad memories, John is aware of them but has a hazy recollection of events.

So while it's a possibility that Mikoto is innocent and that John is the killer, I find it much, much more likely that Mikoto did it and then blocked his own memories, and that John is lying about the situation to protect Mikoto. It's what he's always done, after all.

Final thoughts - Forgiven vs Unforgiven

This may be an unpopular take, but I think as of right now, my first instinct is to vote Mikoto as Unforgiven. I'd like to point out that there's a difference between Innocent vs Guilty, which is how the terms are officially translated, but in Mikoto and John's case I think they are interconnected. There are cases in Milgram where I think they're completely separate ideas and cases where I think the difference is moot, and MikoJohn definitely fall into the latter one.

I also am very conflicted on the concept of Metavoting; for example, Amane being voted Unforgiven was an incredibly stupid decision on the majority's part and I'm not afraid to state that. (Tbf Her mental state is delicate enough that forgiving her would also not end well, but lesser of two evils imo. But all that's for another time.) However, with MikoJohn, again, it actually aligns very well with my actual judgement. John very clearly states that it's his belief that forgiving Mikoto will reduce Mikoto's stress, and allow John to fade away. Whether this is a good or bad thing, or neutral even, is pretty complex honestly, but I think for me personally, I would view it as a bad thing.

Again, I am not very open about my system-isms, but I relate a lot to Mikoto in his current state of being unable to accept John's existence. I was in that exact same position once, and for me, accepting the existence of my alters was very beneficial to all three of us, and we are much closer now and less stressed overall. If John continues to exist, that means Mikoto will have a chance to figure things out and accept John's existence. But if John fades, he may be still caught in that perpetual state of half-existence, with Mikoto being unable to accept him.

So with all these things together; the fact that Mikoto is the one we are judging and I am pretty sure he is the killer, the fact that John may fade if Mikoto is forgiven, and how that isn't a good thing in Mikoto's case, and the fact that - I am pretty damn sure I want to vote Mikoto as Unforgiven. This isn't the be-all, end-all, of course. We don't know if John's prediction is correct about disappearing, we don't know if voting Mikoto Unforgiven will actually have the opposite effect that I hope for and drive him to his breaking point, hell we still don't know who did it. My opinion may change because again, this is just my initial thoughts. I'd love to interact with other systems about this and see their thoughts and opinions. Fan Work Saturday Sunday

I got featured in @dungeons-and-dragon-age's post, so I'm doing this also!

I am going to bend the rules a little because I want to show off stuff both from the Dragon Age and Pillars of Eternity fandoms, so it's going to be two fanart recs and two fic recs, actually.

Fanart rec #1: @dungeons-and-dragon-age

Specifically the June tarot card. I don't know what it is but its muted colors and scratchy textures have captivated me. Somehow you got a digital piece to look like an actual scratched up collectible card someone scanned and posted online? Also it's just a really solid design, I wouldn't question it for a second if I saw this on a book cover or something.

Fanart rec #2: @ederteylegc

For this list I am asking myself "which fanart pieces live in my head rent free" and no one should be surprised that for Pillars of Eternity my answer is Edér fanart. It's just. I love it when a piece of art conveys an idea in shapes and colors and this one does Just That. I really like how it shows The Parallels and I like the color scheme and I like how this just straight up looks like a comic book page.

Fic rec #1: @curiouslavellan

Listen, I have to mention See Fire, And Go Towards Light.

I did not expect to like this fic as much as I do. Like, I expected to like it a normal amount, as in "cool, I get to read about the journeys of my mutual's blorbo! this will be fun to tune into every now and then".

I was not ready for how much I ended up liking the writing itself and the way the main character is written? Her POV as a Tranquil is more distant, but she makes interesting observations about how other people behave around her, and her non-Tranquil POV is just really lovable. The word "immersive" is used for basically anything these days but that's how I would describe the writing in this.

Fic rec #2: @solas-backpack-mug

First of all, I should probably mention that solas-backpack-mug also has an excellent selection of Pillars of Eternity fanart (especially of their ocs Rangi and Asaria, which are technically kind of the same person, it's complicated) in a variety of mediums and fresh home-grown memes.

That being said, I am going to recommend this short fic about Asaria's death, just because I really liked it. If you know the plot of POE1, it's a fun read that does justice to Thaos' whole ominous manipulative deal, and kind of feels like a flashback you would get from touching a relic that used to belong to the unfortunate POV character.

JANUARY

MOST POPULAR: britt + karma !! i had so much fun with this set and it was honestly such a good way to start off the year !! FAVOURITE: probably that same set !! also the glee icons pack i made :D

FEBRUARY

MOST POPULAR: from my blog, britt + mike in 207 shsjhs. from teen dramas, brooke in 207 (one of my fave looks of hers) (this was clearly a month for the seventh episodes in second seasons ??) FAVOURITE: barchie + high infidelity for barchiesource !! something a bit different for me creatively but ugh i love it. also glee 514 for gleesource !! again something a lil different !!

MARCH

MOST POPULAR: riverdale returning to television and proving it takes the cake as the funniest show in the world (another rvd is iconic and beyond reproach set for 701) FAVOURITE: a banger month for creative sets !! basically everything i made for barchie week, this unholy trinity MASTERPIECE i made for gleesource, and this djats set + destiny, choice, chance

APRIL

MOST POPULAR: my favourite scene from djats for djats week in green bc apparently i like to make things hard for myself ?? who knew FAVOURITE: again. SO MANY. another month another appreciation week shsjhs. anyway all the sets i made for djats week, more sets for gleesource including santana + valerie and mercedes and santana + river deep mountain high, my santana lesbian visibility set, hsmtmts + tarot cards which took me wayyyy too long to finish, rvd ladies + barbie posters (50s edition), and barchie in 701 for barchiesource in RED (very proud of how it turned out considering i hate giffing in red)

MAY

MOST POPULAR: quinn + tropes for glee appreciation week !! FAVOURITE: everything i made for glee week (there were quite a few bangers), my 2 9-1-1 sets shjshsj - maddie + you first (a banger) and madney + paper rings (another banger), also the first (and only rip) set in my layla episodes series (layla + 101), and this jordayla + proposal foreshadowing i did over on jordayla gifs !!

JUNE

MOST POPULAR: this halle bailey set <33 FAVOURITE: once again. everything i made for all american appreciation week !!! special shout outs to layla + the eras tour and the layla set i made for day 1 !!

JULY

MOST POPULAR: nancy + the wizard of oz horror (that makes sense i swear) FAVOURITE: the aforementioned nancy set, also stancy + persuasion, the little mermaid live action and the quote that made me insane for a few weeks, layla + the lip pout she does (she's adorable), AND last but certainly not least, this pride and prejudice edit which was just nothing like i have ever done before that i LOVEDDDD

AUGUST

MOST POPULAR: ashlyn + giving maddox mouth to mouth (her delivery of AS A FRIEND still sends me into orbit) FAVOURITE: HSMTMTS MONTH BABEYYYYY !! fave sets include (but are not limited to there are too many) gina for hsmtmts week, fave songs (also for hsmtmts week), rina + maybe this time + motion blur (THIS TOOK ME WAY TOO LONG BTW), this antoine set bc he is an icon, madlyn + daylight (still a serve), rina + invisible string (to this day the most insane thing i have ever made), hsmtmts + a meme summary (just your regularly unhinged content honestly), and this jet/maddox set <33

SEPTEMBER

MOST POPULAR: this cinderella 1950 set in pink/blue <3 FAVOURITE: okay so we have ej playing cupid/being a love prophet HSJHSJ, TWO icon packs, one for olivia rodrigo and one for lexie grey, and also the britt + her love for my headband set bc it was the only other thing i made in september and i was worried it'd get lonely

OCTOBER

NOVEMBER

𝙏𝙖𝙧𝙤𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙔𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙜𝙖-𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣!

prompt: 'Saihara-can would you like me to do some tarot card readings?' + 'Ouma-kun that's just pictures of me' + angie third wheeling

a/n: I was thinking of including this in my saiouma 'Back and Forth' fic but I ended up writing this as a shorts- (I may still write another version of this in Back and Forth though-)

(inspired by this meme I found on Pinterest!!)

The other day, Angie Yonaga was visited by someone she had least expected to be visited by: Kokichi Ouma.

Angie, who found peace in art and loved talking about Atua, found it odd that the Ultimate Supreme Leader suddenly dropped by and asked if she could lend him some of her tarot cards.

It was unsure how that purple head knew she had tarot cards, but she lended it to him anyway. She occasionally would use those cards to persuade others to join her to worship Atua, so she deduced Kokichi probably knew from then.

The Ultimate Supreme Leader thanked her giddily and told her that he wanted to do some readings on a rival evil organization that was threatening his own organization, but Angie knew better than to believe in the absurd reasoning.

So she went along and asked Kiibo to keep an eye on Kokichi. The robot was reluctant, but she insisted that it would be for the greater good. She told him to tell her if he saw Kokichi walking around with cards.

A few days later, Kiibo told her that he saw Kokichi being cards around and entered the library.

In a haste, Angie made her way to the library, and found Kokichi and Shuichi sitting at a table together.

From afar, the two were just conversing like they normally would. Since the two of them were the only ones talking in the library, Angie could easily make out what they were talking about if she focused.

"Shumai! Would you like me to do some tarot card reading for you?!" Kokichi suddenly asked excitedly, eyes probably gleaming in enthusiasm. Shuichi furrowed his eyebrows at the sudden excitement, but agreed to it nonetheless.

So not really a rival for his organization, but perhaps a rival for his intelligence then? Saihara-kun has always been a smart fellow.

Kokichi eagerly took out some cards, and Angie was quick to realize that those were not her tarot cards.

Did she hear him wrong then?

The Ultimate Supreme Leader proudly put the cards on the table faced down, grinning before he picked one and flipped it.

"Well, Saihara-chan, I'm an expert in tarot card reading! Lemme show you! Take this card for example; this was the time when you had just entered the academy and befriended Akamatsu-chan - your first love! That lovesick look in your eyes as she preached about teamwork is really disgusting. Just kidding! It's adorable! Geez, Akamatsu-chan should just reject you straight up so I could ask you out!

That was a lie though! I'd rather date someone else!"

…what… ?

Angie, confused, turned to look at Shuichi who looked a little embarrassed, clearing his throat as he murmured,

"... She's a really… nice person. It's hard to not… uhh… Anyways. Ouma-kun, those are not tarot cards-"

"Let's move on to the next card!" Kokichi cut Shuichi off, choosing another card and flipping it. He laughed in his typical 'nishishi' way, and started talking.

"This one tells me that you could be so damn straightforward and attractive if needed. That's what everyone thinks anyway! Saihara-chan's charisma when he's serious about solving a case could be very charming~ Geez Saihara-chan's a playboy~ Is this why you kept on ignoring Akamatsu-chan's and my love confessions?! What a horrible guy!"

Shuichi blinked in surprise, staring at Kokichi as if that midget had grown two heads before he scoffed, a subtle delighted yet embarrassed tone following his words after.

"I'm not so attractive that I have people throwing themselves at me, Ouma-kun. Also, Akamatsu-san has never explicitly told me that she likes me like that. Another point, don't I already have you? You and your words that are more often than not feigned as lies?"

The Ultimate Supreme Leader gasped, making a show of clutching at his heart as he accused the detective with tears welling up in his eyes,

"What's up with those cringe-worthy words, Shumai?! Are you actually planning to seduce me before selling me off to the black market?! How terrible of you!"

"How did you even come up with that absurd idea?!" Shuichi groaned, his frustration perhaps catching up to him.

The Ultimate Detective suddenly stood up, snatched the picture Kokichi was 'reading', and inquired in all seriousness.

"How come you have a picture of me at a crime scene outside of the academy anyway? Pretty sure my uncle was the only one who knew beforehand that I would be there just to get some experience."

Kokochi grinned cheekily at the question, and Angie found his next answer very intriguing.

"Of course, because I've met your uncle and he obviously supported our relationship!"

Angie saw how Shuichi faltered at the claim, cheeks taking the lovely shade of red as he gaped at the supreme leader who kept on his innocent grin.

Somehow, it was Shuichi's turn to come up with a ridiculous idea.

"Did you blackmail my uncle?!"

Angie had to hold her laughter in, covering her mouth as she tried her best to stifle laughter at this sudden turn of events. Even Kokichi seemed to be enjoying himself, resting his cheek on the palm of his hand as he smiled mischievously.

"Eh~ Busted already~? I mean, it's so easy to blackmail your uncle, Saihara-chan~"

Shuichi couldn't seem to accept it as the truth and sputtered.

"But that's absurd."

"So which one is the lie, and which one's the truth, Saihara-chan?

Come on, think! Aren't you the detective around here?" Kokichi taunted, still with that unnervingly well-putted evil smile on his lips.

The answer was obvious, but Shuichi probably couldn't comprehend the idea of his uncle meeting someone and suddenly supporting his relationship with said someone.

A little bit flustered, Shuichi cleared his throat and gestured vaguely at the other picture to divert the topic of conversation.

"What does the last picture mean anyway?"

The Ultimate Artist was not letting that happen under her watch.

Before Kokichi could follow along the detective's request, Angie loudly got out of her hiding spot, a bright smile on her lips as she strode towards her classmates and snatched the last picture, glancing at Kokichi who complained about her ruining their fun.

Angie beamed at Shuichi, and said,

"Atua told me that something is brewing in the library, and that I should ask Saihara-kun which is the truth and which is not! Could you give me your answer, Saihara-kun?"

Shuichi, embarrassed that he couldn't get out of the topic, groaned barely audibly before he answered meekly.

"... At least let me introduce you to him, Ouma-kun… "

Kokichi grinned teasingly and instantly forgot the last picture, standing up in triumph before literally dragging Shuichi out of the library to celebrate the start of their 'phantom thief-detective relationship'.

(The purple head suddenly clarified that the relationship that Shuichi's uncle was so supportive of was a phantom thief and detective relationship. Questionable, really.)

Before the duo leave though, Angie smiled amicably while Kokichi gave her a blank look - to tell her to not follow them, probably.

Either way, there's some 'tarot cards' that weren't yet to be read.

So she stared at the picture of Kokichi staring at a smiling Shuichi who was talking to Kaede, and realized that perhaps Atua had planned for her to be there.

After all, if Shuichi were to see this picture, Kokichi's 'crush' might as well be as hidden as her love for Atua.

In other words, very apparent.
