Au: You're a famous popstar on tour, and Abby is one of your backup dancers. You guys get very touchy and flirty during certain songs, and the fans start to notice how playful you're both being with each other. You guys try to hold back from each other, but eventually, you get together and fall for each other.

pairing: abby anderson x fem!reader
tags: kinda.. loser!abby-ish??, making out, minor touching, yearning for eachother, no smut, would this be fluff?, idk if it is, happy ending, alternate universe - no outbreak, in our popular era!!, LOTS of tension (that’s kinda poorly written), i literally know nothing of how a stage crew works, ive only seen two movies about how tours work, so bare with me
Tumblr media Tumblr media
a/n: AYEEEE MUST BE THE MONAAYYYY!! im trying something a lil different (but like.. not rlly..) also!!! this is my first time ever fulfilling a request!!! i hope this is good.. i haven’t written anything for a while. also also!!! i litcherally just remembered this song existed today and (a lil lore), originally i was gonna title this dont stop the music (like the rihanna song) but then this crossed my mind and i translated the lyrics and it just.. fits!!!! 😄 ok last thing, this is the outfit inspo for this fanfic! latrice is sooo pretty and this outfit is fire!!!
The ticket lines were flowing with people, like, lots of them. More than you’d ever seen during your tour. Tonight’s show was in Seattle. Your set started in fifteen minutes and you and your team were going through the logistics of how things would go. You stand there, hands on your hips as you keep a straight and serious face while lending a listening ear, giving a few nods from time to time. Abby couldn’t keep her eyes off of you. Her eyes kept tracing over you. The entirety of you. The oversized denim, the Calvin Klein print across your thong, the black top looking just perfect against your skin, everything drove her insane. She’d have to thank your stylists personally the next time she saw them because each time she found herself looking at you, her face would heat up. A loud clap from the director snapped her out of her trance. She followed the other backup dancers, who were also following you. Before entering the stage, you take a breath and hope for the best.
You take a few steps on the large stage, smiling as the crowd roars in cheers and applause. You wave as you approach your mic. Your in-ears had already been in and you were waiting for the signal to begin your set. Before this, you thank the crowd for coming and some other things before it begins. It starts off slow, a soft song that hadn’t required much choreography was sung. Your voice had the crowd entranced, smiling and recording you. The band played in the same smooth and entrancing manner you had already set. After the song concludes, you begin moving to your position for the next song. “Song begins in 3.. 2.. 1..” the woman in your in-ears said as a metronome ticked at the same beat of the song. The lights on stage turn red, smoke rises from the stage. The song was sensual and provocative, your voice was smooth (as always) and siren-like. You and Abby find yourself dancing up against each other. Caught up in your song, your hand snakes around her waist as you sing the provocative lyrics to her with half lidded eyes and a small smile. Abby panicked internally. She curses under her breath as you sing to her. Her body heats up and her heart rate increases. She heard the loud noise of squealing and applauding from the crowd. She felt dizzy as you and her parted ways momentarily as you continued singing. Your touch sear on her skin, 1000 degrees is what it felt like to her. Your hands lingered on her body way longer than you practiced. And god, those eyes she gives you. They made you feel a little dizzy. Those green eyes under the red light, the strands of blond hair sticking to her forehead, the way her eyes fluttered whenever she made eye contact with you made your heart flutter. It seemed so unreal, the way her large hands rested on your body whenever the move called for it or how she smiled at you nervously when you got a little too close. Anyone with eyes could see that you both had some kinda feelings for eachother. And this definitely wouldn’t be easy to forget.
The concert went on for what seemed like forever before you were on your last song. You and the rest of your dancers stand in the middle of the stage, attempting to catch your breath as you hold your ending pose. Abby looks at you and you look at her. The tension from before begins to rise again. It was palpable. “You don’t know what you do to me.” Abby whispered, only for your ears. “I know exactly what I do to you, Abby.” You respond with a smile. After a few more seconds, you finally exit the stage with everyone else. You enter your dressing room, closing the door behind you as you take a few photos of yourself, uploading them to social media before scrolling through your notifications. As usual, they were full of mentions, comments, and likes. They were also full of your little.. moments on stage with Abby. Your body becomes hot as you watch it over. You loved the way she looked at you. Like you were some sort of goddess. Or like you were the most beautiful woman in the world. You find yourself smiling at your phone as you read your comments from your fans talking about the tension between the two of you.
As Abby sat with the other dancers, all she could think about was you. “God, you’ve got it bad, Abby.” One woman with curly hair says as she looks at her for a moment, then playfully rolls her eyes. “I’ve got it bad?” Abby acted clueless, but she knew exactly what the woman meant. “Oh shut up, don’t play dumb with. I see exactly how the two of you look at eachother. If you like her that much then you should just like, tell her or something.” The woman suggested with a shoulder shrug, then picking up her phone and texting with someone. In a perfect world, Abby would’ve already asked you out, and she would’ve already been your girlfriend. But she didn’t want you to think she was like, weird or something. “I mean.. the worst she could say is no, right?” Abby mumbles to herself. “Eeexactly. Now go.” The woman suggested with a smile.
And after that little push, she walks to your dressing room. Her hand trembled on the doorknob. That was just her nerves trying to pull her back into the other room. Her hands become clammy along with her nerves. But Abby’s boots definitely weren’t quiet, and you’d already known she was there. “The doors unlocked.” You yell out to her. “..Goddamnit.” She mumbled to herself as she opened the door, walking in and closing it. You were still looking down at your phone for a moment before you turned it off and look over at her. “Hey.” “Hi.” You smile at her. “So uh, what brings ya here?” “Just wanted to check on you that’s all, but if you’re busy I’ll just go—“ Her hand darts towards the doorknob and you stand up and stop her. “No.. stay. I’m not busy.” Abby never listened to someone so fast. Her eyes meet yours and she looks around the door nervously. There was a small smile on her face. You found her nervous smile cute. You place your hand on her face, gently turning her face to look at you.
“Keep those pretty eyes on me, Abby.” You whisper to her as you look her in the eyes. Her face heats up again as you speak to her in that soft voice. “God.. why do you do this to me?” She asked as she looked at you. Her eyes linger on your lips and then returning to your eyes. For the time she’d become acquainted with you, never did she think she’d be here feeling so tempted to ask you out. “Abby..” You whispered to her again as you looked at her, getting a little closer to her. “I like you.” “I like you too. Please let me kiss you.” She sounded so needy, and you couldn’t just ignore that voice. Almost in an instant, you crash your lips against hers. It just felt so.. right. And so natural. Her hands gently touch your arm, then your back. She drags her hand up your back and gently resting it on the back of your neck. Her touch left goosebumps across your skin. God she was so gentle, and it drove you crazy. Your hand finds itself entangled in her hair that was wavy, not being in its usual braid. She let out a little whine the more she kissed you. Slowly she pushes her tongue into your mouth, and they dance furiously, intertwining in a passionate dance for a few more seconds before she pulls away to catch her breath.
You both look at eachother breathlessly. That moment alone had solidified that you had in fact fallen for eachother. “Again.” Abby says, and you nod before you begin making out again. You stumble towards a small soft. Abby sits down and you straddle her lap. Your lips were on hers for a few moments before moving to her neck. You move slowly, making her wait. Her hands rest on your hips, and occasionally slide up and down your thighs. “God, you have no idea how bad I've wanted this. Watching you all that time, the way you look at me, that voice of yours. It drives me crazy.” For the duration of the tour, you had been restricting yourself. They say not to mix love with your work life, and in some cases it would make sense. But how could you ever do that for a girl this irresistible? Of course Abby restrained herself in the same manner because she didn’t wanna ruin things between the two of you, but now you were here and you had no intention whatsoever about going back to the way things were. Every wall you’d built up had been smashed down by the flurry of emotions Abby brought to you with her touch, her voice, and her want for you. There was no ‘line’ that you could or couldn’t cross, because.. the world is infinite. And in this moment, you felt infinite. And it was all because of her. Your lips trail back up to hers for a moment before she pulls away to say something. “I swear, after this tour, I’ll properly ask you out.” Abby declares as she looks at you. “I can’t wait. I want to be with you now. Abby, I want to be your girlfriend.” You admit as you look her in the eyes. A part of her hadn’t expected that. Her eyes widen a little in shock before she smiled at you. “.. Alright then. We’re officially girlfriends.” She said with a smile before you lean down to kiss her again.

Ffffreddy. Spoilers. Yeah
Watching that movie in a theater full of fans was such an experience. Like…. Watching the eras tour movie with swifties felt like community. Like everyone was in sync (cause it was a concert movie but Yknow.) The people in the Freddy movie were enthusiastic but. In a different way. And the teens next to me complaining the whole time are my enemies. Go away if you’re not having fun.
AS FOR THE MOVIE ITSELF. THANK GOD IT WAS GOOD. THANK GOD I HAD SUCH A FUN TIME WITH IT. Matpat being in the movie for a single minute and saying “that’s just a theory” before disappearing was ethereal in a way I can’t really describe if you weren’t here for all that. It was glorious. The animatronics looked great. The gore was moderate but tasteful. I love murder. I love how Vanessa’s here even though she’s from the glamrock era and she’s an afton child. Love how none of the game afton children are in the movie. The actor for William did such a good job but I think we all know he would. It was still so good to see. I love murder and I love Williams kind of death. His maiming. Abby is a darling I’m happy she’s here. I love how we could sing kumbaya with the animatronics if even for a little while. No one likes balloon boy and that makes me happy. Oh my god I love five nights at Freddy’s oohh my god. Good movie would watch again

HOW WE MET (Abby's Version)
Hi friends! This is my first *official* blog post, and the two of us wanted to put together posts about our friendship & how we met / how we got into Duran Duran from each of our perspectives! :)
Kal and I have so many eerie coincidences in our friendship, it’s insane. Seeing the same angel numbers, texting each other the same exact things at the same time, verbally saying the same thing on FaceTime, finding out both of our first "crushes" as kids were Greg (me) and Murray (Kal) from the Wiggles (don't laugh.) You name it, it’s probably happened with us. We both have gone though eras with The Beatles, The Police and Queen (even both having fixations on Queen specifically during our sophomore years of high school). Even with getting into Duran Duran, she got into them July 9th, and I got into them July 11th, all because of the SAME John Taylor edit we both independently saw on TikTok that randomly came up on our FYP before we met, as well as seeing Duran Duran in concert exactly a week apart (stay tuned for posts about that!)
Now, to clarify, the two of us have always known about Duran and have listened to them very casually. The two of us have ALWAYS loved old music (I grew up listening to a lot of Elton John, Bon Jovi, Elvis, The Beach Boys, Metallica, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Mötley Crüe, and Sam Cooke thanks to a mix of my parents and my grandmother) When I started collecting records when I was 11 (I'll be 21 in May, for context) my Mom gave me her copy of DD's Arena she got in 1984 as one of the albums to “start out” with, along with a few others. (She was a Roger girlie, and her twin sister (my aunt lol) was a Nick girlie! They also had a mutual friend who was a John girlie) Like any girl at that age, I thought they were cute! I loved that it was a live album, which I thought was unique. And, of course, everyone knows Hungry Like The Wolf, come on.
2022 rolled around, along with Season 4 of Stranger Things. I remember scrolling through TikTok in August and stumbling across a Steve Harrington edit with Girls on Film as the audio. I IMMEDIATELY fell in love with the song, it became one of my most listened to tracks that year if I recall correctly. I later posted on my instagram story on November 11th 2022, a mirror selfie of me in my college bathroom with Rio as the music for it. Coincidentally, it was eight months to the day before my fixation started. Weird!
After I was sucked into the Duraniverse by that incredible JT TikTok edit, I made the best decision ever by making a Duran instagram account at the end of July 2023 called thegirlonfilm, after one of my favorite songs that really started it all for me. “I needed to talk to people about them,” I thought to myself, as none of my local friends really knew about them or liked them, and if they did, it wasn’t on the level that I was on. I started joining Facebook groups and started blacking out on eBay, buying posters, books, cds, magazines, vinyls, funko pops, tour brochures, cassettes, you name it. I wanted to do nothing but listen to them and gush about them, blowing up my Pinterest by saving thousands of pins of them. I then snagged tickets for my middle school best friend and I to see them together in Philadelphia not even two weeks later. My feelings for them were VERY similar to my extreme Beatles hyperfixation in early middle school to mid-high school.
Around early August, my account was slowly taking off, and I began following more and more accounts. I started following an account called 111ngel, which was recommended to me as I already had a few mutuals who were following them. We liked each other’s posts here and there, no big deal, occasionally commenting on each other's posts and edits. In early August they tagged me in an edit they made of Nick & John, dm’ing me saying that “they hoped it was okay that they tagged me because they didn’t have many Duran Duran mutuals.” Of course I was okay with it, I was excited that someone actually tagged me in something, and we eventually struck up a light conversation that turned into us talking to each other everyday for the next 6 months.
Flash forward to now, Kal is the bestest friend I could ever ask for, even though we’ve never met irl and she lives over 15 hours away in a different time zone than me. (I’m on the east coast, she’s in the midwest). She's one of the sweetest, kindest, funniest and most caring people I have ever met, and she never fails to make me laugh until I cry. We have a never-ending list of inside jokes and just stupid stuff that makes us giggle. She was there for me consistently through the worst heartbreak of my life, and has been there for me regardless ever since. We have our “Duran Nights” which consists of us staying up on FaceTime together until 4 AM watching interviews, documentaries and concerts, talking about things going on in the Duran community, going Brittany Broski-level feral over John and Simon, or giggling about crap we find on Pinterest (and me destroying her in word hunt on iMessage games hehe) She’s so comforting to be around, as if we knew each other in a past life. We both agree that we're 100% each other's platonic soulmates, as we clicked almost immediately and have such a deep friendship. I’ve never met someone that I could be so transparent with, and she’s really the only person I can TRULY be myself around without the fear of judgement. She's the Simon to my John, the Lennon to my McCartney, the Moon to my Sun. Very thankful for having her in my life. :) <3

FCSU #82 It’s A Departure
Tumblr media
All too soon Abby's eighteenth birthday rolled around. After much soul-searching she came to the conclusion that her father's church, now called The Restored Fundamentalist Church of Spiritual Unity, was the true path to salvation. Like many girls before her, including her mother, she began work on a wedding dress. She twirled around in front of her sisters showing off the textured skirt and fashion forward bodice.
Tumblr media
Autumn loved the dress but it also forced her to confront the reality that Abby WAS going back. They'd managed to repair their relationship over the years and it tore her apart to imagine the house without her. In the months leading up to and following Abby’s departure Autumn coped with her grief through meditation and painting. Her skill was improving and sims from around town started to order commissions. She was starting to make a bit of money, too.
Tumblr media
For Abby's birthday her mother made her a cake resembling a hamburger, the only food other than FCSU salad that she was willing to eat. She blew out the candles and aged up, finishing high school with a B grade. Abby sat down with her siblings who couldn't for the life of them understand why she wanted to go back to a cult so badly.
Tumblr media
She gently explained that she belonged with her people, living a simpler life. "It's okay if you can adapt to the townie world but I cannot. In order to thrive I need my community around me." They were all crestfallen but understood that it was her choice to make.
Tumblr media
"You all can come back too if you want, once you're done school." She added. None of them seemed particularly enthused by the idea. Nevertheless Abby hugged everyone and told them she loved them. She broke down when it came to saying goodbye to Allie-Jayne.
Tumblr media
"Thank you, Mother. I love you." She whispered. "I love you too Abby, just remember, you are always welcome here." Abby nodded and then left to catch her bus to Oasis Springs. It felt like the end of an era, like everything was changing.
Tumblr media
A lot had changed over the years in Brindleton Bay as a whole over the last few years. Ryder, Thomas and Alex now dominated the high school football team. All three of them were easy-going, popular and active. Ryder and Thomas, dissatisfied with the svelte frame they inherited from Isaac began bulking up when they hit their teens. Ryder had grown into a stereotypical heartthrob type. Thomas was determined to excel in all aspects of life, somehow managing to be equal parts jock and nerd. Alex was the funny one of the group and loved to showboat his athleticism.
Tumblr media
All three boys had been trained by their aunt Becca-Dawn who'd moved out to Brindleton Bay recently. She thought starting over in a smaller town surrounded by family might ease her anxiety. She still did freelance programming work but was also ready to get back into the fitness game. Becca  was still on good terms with Penny, she just wanted to strike out on her own and give Penny and Greyson some privacy since they’d finally moved in together.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The hardest part of moving was leaving Lily behind. Lily was Penny’s cat but Becca-Dawn had fallen for her too. Her first few weeks were rocky as she tried to adjust to not having a pet. At Teresa’s urging she adopted an adorable Boston Terrier mix named Peanut. She got along well with Hannah’s new puppy, Hugo.
Tumblr media
Back in San Myshuno Penny’s documentary finally premiered. It was picked up by several festivals which meant she had to go on a PR Tour to give some insight and interviews for the film. She never dreamt that her project would gain tract outside of Newport or Oasis Springs. Between her documentary and her iconic red carpet looks her fame was skyrocketing.

Hi Miss Abby! I just wanted to share that my gf (she's a lifelong Swiftie, I'm a more recent convert thanks to her ceaseless efforts) has made a dream playlist of all the songs she wants Taylor to do live for her Eras Tour and it has like 8 songs from reputation alone and maybe more off of evermore too alkksflksmdkslk I just thought you would appreciate that. She's never seen Taylor live and I'm sooo excited to take her and hold her hand and scream all of Taylor's dyke-iest lyrics together at the top of our lungs all night 😊

this is sooooo cute

Thank You Taylor
@taylorswift @taylornation
my name is Abby
I am 26 years old
I was 9 when Debut was released
I was 11 when Fearless was released
I was 13 when Speak Now was released (13😉)
I was 15 when Red was released
I was going through my first heartbreak and omg that album quite dramatically at the time I would say, changed my life
I was 17 years old when 1989 was released
I was headed into my senior year of high school and I was battling depression, anxiety, and on unfortunate terms that I have since mainly grown out of, battling an eating disorder
1989 built me up, 1989 was my escape, 1989 was a pivotal pop album that not only changed my life, but also the face of pop music at the time
Each song mainly upbeat always brought a smile to my face and made it impossible not to dance to
1989 was relatable, it ameliorated every negative thought I could posses
Clean was my favorite song next to Welcome To New York (I’m from NY so it meant a lot) 😂
I was 20 years old when Reputation was released
It broke my heart the battle ahead of Reputation
I was bullied for siding with Taylor
I was bullied for listening to Taylor in general
I was bullied for being a “crazy fan”
Reputation was pivotal
Reputation was an album I never knew I needed
Reputation was unlike anything from Taylor I have ever heard, and I was nonplus
Reputation helped me realize that even in the face of adversity and bullying, remaining true to myself was nothing to fear
I felt understood and validated as Taylor can create such intimate sympathy with her writing
I was 22 when Lover was released , It was released 4 days after my 22nd birthday
It’s funny , of course I used the caption “Idk about you but i’m feelin 22” on my birthday post
After the hardships of Taylor’s masters being taken from her , I was nothing short of proud to hear such an incredible album that was 100% authentic, and fully owned by Taylor
I had met someone who I was falling incredibly in love with during that time
Lover was MY album I clung to
Every song , every lyric , I fully felt with everything in me
I felt as if she wrote every song for me…
About how I was feeling and how happy my relationship was unfolding
I am still with the same person I was with when Lover came out, It has been 5 years and each and every day feels like the first time I heard that album
congrats on fearless tv and red tv ❤️
I was still 22 when folklore came out
Oh My God
I still have no words
folklore has remained my favorite album of all time since its release
I was always an avid reader and writer in school
folklore is the magnum opuses of a master story teller
I was 23 when evermore was released
As if i thought nothing could beat folklore …
evermore was JUST AS MASTERFUL if not more
I physically could never choose one over the other
I am the number one ‘folkmore’ stan in the entire world
I wrote a formal lyric analysis for right where you left me and ivy , my two favorite songs on the album
those songs are incredible…I literally don’t have words as I am still speechless to this current day and i fear i will be ‘forevermore’ 😉
I was 25 years old when Midnights was released
I have always listened to Taylor, but Midnights is when you could say I coined the term “swiftie”
I was watching the vmas when Taylor won best video for ATW10 short film and she announced her brand new album
I was floored
I couldn’t hardly wait
Everything about the Midnights era was ethereal
It was exactly who I was and of course yet again, i could relate to each and every song in some sort of way
I became obsessed but in a loyal fan way not a crazy psycho way… well that depends on who you ask i guess
When the eras tour was announced I cried , i actually cried
I was so excited as I have never seen Taylor live before and I had to do everything in my power to get the chance
I manifested to the max
I remember vividly playing ‘Maroon’ non stop 24/7
It was my manifesto (my fav on the album at the time) now i couldn’t pick even if i had to
I registered to be a verified fan on ticketmaster
I got chosen (i know an awful unlawful amount of people did as well but i still felt special)
My mom was thrilled and so was I
I transformed my mom into a swiftie
Her favorite song is lavender haze
We listened to the midnights vinyl on her late brothers turn table from the 80s and went through lyric by lyric , it was such a fun experience I will cherish forever
My mom is an avid sewer , a master of the craft if you will
She and I both sewed the infamous hat you wore in the red taylor’s version cover
bought the fabric found the pattern on etsy.. and legitimately sewed a hat from scratch
my mom thinks it’s so cool that the mic pack on the back of your outfits is matched by the fabric … she could do that for you anytime she is always free 😂😉
After hours of excruciating anxiety and misery
somehow by the grace of god i secured 4 tickets to the eras tour show in Pittsburgh!!!
I’m from New York… and not the city that never sleeps … upstate ny … Go Bills am i right? 😂 low key go Chiefs tho iykyk
I attended the show with my mom and dad and a friend of a friend
It was incredible, my dad quickly became a swiftie and since , he sends me multiple tik toks of Taylor swift every chance he gets , He texts me during chiefs games to tell me “Taylor’s man is on fire right now” and so does my mom 😂
I know this is long but for whoever reads this and maybe who knows … if THE Taylor Swift ever sees this … I want you to know that You have changed my life. You have been the light when I need guidance, the reason for laughing, dancing, and singing. You have always been true to yourself and have shown me I can do the same, unapologetically. Taylor Swift, thank you from the bottom of my heart 🫶🏼
ps … if you ever do another secret sessions … i’m only 6 hours from New York City and I am ALWAYS free 😉
with all my indefinite support , love, and respect,
Abby 🫶🏼🤍

Ann Quintano in NYC, Day 12
eJust ended today’s events but before I write on that wanted to share some pictures from yesterday at Governor’s Island. (Sorry for always the one day delay for photos but I have some ongoing camera to computer problems and thank heavens Abbie at apexart enables me to have my photos up at all! And thanks to my sister, Francesca and my brother in law Ron who gave me my phone and tablet or where would I be in this day and age!
This is just a small area of Earth Matters where we did intros and information but,as I mentioned, stashed bag with phone/camera there so don’t have other pics of their wonderful urban farm and compost center.
Tumblr media
All over Governors island one can easily spot these colorful chairs (or the red hammocks) and in this one I did the soul searching for my reflection on my experience of being a fellow with apexart.
Tumblr media
So that brightens the day! It overlooks the water. Next is an old rundown building on the island which, if you look hard, you can see was a library.
Tumblr media
Onto the ferry and while waiting for it to leave enjoyed a sea gull relaxing and then the view from the ferry.

Onto today...I had a two hour Improv Comedy Class with Jessica Zambrotta. That was a lot of fun and revealing. Just five of us so that was a comfortable size. We did a number of ‘games’ that helped with being really present, not judging, connecting with each other, listening skills, being able to get out of our head and into connection and emotion. It was interesting how we could each build on each other’s stories in the game and how using certain responses helped or hindered the flow. The classes are for everyone, not just actors or comedians and develop skills that are useable  in everyday life.
I then went to the next two stops in continuation of Fighting the Dark which began in Manhattan and end here in Brooklyn. Grand Army Plaza where the sculpture includes a Black man. Grand Army Plaza was erected to celebrate the Union victory of the civil War and the tour speaks about the all Black 20th Regiment. It continues with the effect on the drafting of Black soldiers who were originally not allowed to serve, and the terrible resistance to that by many whites.  Many Blacks sought refuge in Weeksville named for Black landowner  and established as a free Black community in what is now Crown Heights.
The creator of this Audio Tour puts things for us New Yorkers in a frightening reality:...”many of these lynching took place in the south but the blueprint for multiple day mass lynchings of free Black people was formed in the streets of New York in 1863″. The Weeksville Heritage Center is closed to tours because of Covid but you can visit the grounds and the itinerary suggested sitting on the lawn and reading a book. But to me it felt like sacred ground and not a place to be relaxing and so after I read the transcript of the audio tour (I had 8 pages of transcript with me today), I moved on. I took the C train to West 4th just to explore the West Village a little. No many how many times I’m down there I always get turned around by the zig zagging streets. I cut through Washington Square part to walk home (apex home) and it was absolutely mobbed. I think it was NYU graduation.
Once again during the day I had to deal with my reoccurring fear of getting lost without a map (what a metaphor too I guess!) I lived through the era of the Crown Heights riots so on the bus to Crown Heights...and the driver telling me its the next to last stop...and we’re going and going...I was remembering my first day at Pratt in the 70′s when the city was high crime and that was way before Pratt area was gentrified. I asked a police officer the direction and he said to me “I can tell you how to get there but you’ll never get there alive!” He and his partner found it somewhat amusing, of course I was scared to death. I need to know where I’m going and have a visual: a map, even if its hand drawn by me. So for me apex gets it right on about moving one out of their comfort zone and anything familiar.  I must say a woman caught up to me when I got off the bus and said she heard me asking for directions to the train back and she proceeded to tell me exactly how to get to the C train. A young woman at the Brooklyn Navy Yards practically walked me to the ferry when I was leaving...’I have a Mama and a Grandma and I would want them to be safe too ‘ she said. Having to rely on (and hope for) the kindness of strangers is always a good learning and a happy occasion. As challenging (and fun) as this experience is...I hate for it to end. I want to keep the unfamiliar alive!
Bye for now...

Today is the 2 year anniversary of my uncle’s passing. He was 35, and it was very unexpected. Shortly before he died, he called me and talked about life. But mostly, that call revolved around my love of @taylorswift and when I thought she would release more music, which of course I didn’t know. He always teased me for liking her music so much, but was also the first one to call when a new song dropped and ask me what I thought.
Needless to say, my world was shattered when I got the call, “you need to sit down, I have something to tell you...”. I cried for countless hours, my anxiety worsened to the point where I wasn’t sleeping and was constantly on edge. For two full weeks, I sat in grief and sadness I had never known.
But two weeks later, “reputation” was announced. Still drowning in sadness, it was the first time I had a moment of happiness since he passed. So, I decided to throw myself into the era. I knew all of the words to the album with a few days, I’d been on tumblr but joined twitter too. I made costumes and even flew to see the reputation stadium tour in Houston because I loved it so much in Seattle.
So what’s the point of this? This is a thank you. Thank you Taylor for showing me how to let go and be happy again. Thank you for helping me through this dark time in my life by sharing about a dark time in yours. Thank you for giving me a community of friends who I could never have met without you. Thank you for helping me become this happy girl again ❤️
Love you always, Abbie

I decided to finally make a part two of this post, it took me half a year longer than I anticipated, but I rushed to finish it at least for June.
🏳️‍🌈 Happy pride month! 🏳️‍🌈
The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley – The best kind of subtle romance I have ever read. Includes mysterious pocket watch, solving bomb threats in Victorian London, a lady scientist, changing of future based on occurring events, an adorable clockwork octopus, and so much more! Did I mention the best, most beautiful romance I didn’t even expect to get?? Read it! (mlm main characters)
All out: The No-Longer-Secret Stories of Queer Teens Throughout the Ages by multiple authors, edited by Saundra Mitchell – This book was so refreshing to read!!! Retellings of fairy tales but queer and poc and mostly happy. I enjoyed each of the short story so so much, I don’t have words to say how much I loved this book, just, can we please have more stories like that? Thank you.
Radio Silence by Alice Oseman – Ever wanted a book with a main character boy and girl who won’t end up together by the end of the book? Then this is a book for you. Frances and Aled do not only become best friends who won’t end up together, but there’s even more diverse characters than these two main ones. This book even has an ace (demi) sexual representation, which I was very excited about, and the main character is biracial bisexual girl. There is lot of fandom talk and a radio show drama (kind of similar to Welcome to Night Vale). But also talks about other important topics like deciding that college might not be for everyone despite them being a great student in high school.
Not Your Sidekick by C.B. Lee – It’s a cute and sweet superhero themed futuristic story, first book of a trilogy I think. The main character is Vietnamese American bisexual girl, Jessika Tran, whose parents are both superheroes, but she doesn’t have any powers. She starts working for a company she later discovers belongs to town’s villains, but with time she learns that not everything about superheroes and villains is perfectly black and white. Also she’s working there with her crush, so that’s a bonus. It’s a really great book, there’s wlw romance and lot of diversity, action and silly scenes. The history behind the people’s superpowers and worldbuilding was really interesting too. The sequel is also already out, featuring a poc trans boy as the main character, who is part of Jessika‘s friend squad.
The Gentleman‘s guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee – A book everyone here should read!! A historical roadtrip with lot of angst, fluff and mutual pining of two of the main characters. It takes place in 18th century Europe. Monty is kind of an asshole, some moments you will hate him then you will love him, but as the journey progresses so does he. He travels with his sister, Felicity, and his best friend (and crush!) Percy, to visit few cities in Europe before he has to start work in his fathers company. This book addressed lot of issues, like white privilege and racism in that time period, sexism and ableism. But it’s also an adventurous book that’s funny and charming, and makes you feel really happy one moment and sad the next. There are also pirates!
Dreadnought by April Daniels – This is a first book of a duology about a lesbian trans girl Danny who receives superpowers after witnessing death of the superhero Dreadnought, which means she now has to become the new Dreadnought. But with the powers also becames real the ideal vision of her body, that she always wanted. She is very happy about it, but it also means she has to face her family and best friend and explain why she looks different. On top of that she has to help the other superheroes with stopping the new threat to the city, the villain who killed previous Dreadnought. Trigger warnings for transphobia, but it’s really worth to read.
Mask of Shadows by Linsey Miller – I’ve seen mixed reviews of this book but personally I loved it. It’s a fantasy YA with lgbt protagonist, that I don’t have enough of. Sal is a genderfluid, also bi? pan? thief who enters a competition to become one of Queen’s Assassins. Basically the last one standing (or rather living) takes the place. Sal knows how to fight and survive but also needs to learn other things to win this position. Like taking classes of writing/reading which teaches him a lady of court they previously stole something from, whom Sal quickly starts to like more than they should, with the competition at play. For me it was a really great book to read and I can’t wait to read the sequel!
The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli – I had to read this one quickly before Leah on the offbeat came out, and it was a joy to read this one too! Again so much representation, I love Becky’s books and the Simon vs world. This story is about Molly who has had a lot of crushes but never actually dated anyone. She’s jewish, has anxiety, is fat, loves her family, is very creative, and has another crush on a guy who is her coworker. There’s so much cuteness in this book, I was smiling and crying the whole time reading it. More for representation: her sister is gay, she has two moms, a new Korean-American pansexual friend (who her sister totally likes) and more. I need to meantion trigger warnings for fatphobia, because of part there with her relative, it made me cry so much, it was very reletable and I hated it but there was very good closure for it in the end, which I’m happy about. Anyway read this book, overall it’s a cute and happy book with lots of fluff!
Leah on the Offbeat by Becky Albertalli – I loved Leah from the Simon vs book, so I was really happy we got more focus on her. She’s fat and funny, unapologetic about who she is, in her words: “basically your resident fat Slytherin Rory Gilmore”. There was mentions she likes boys as well as girls. Because of a tour for her college she goes with Abby to see where she will live the next few years and stuff happens. And then there’s also their high school prom, which she thought she was ready for, but maybe she’s not ready for at all. I’m not even going to write more, it’s an amazing book, I cried so many times.
Timekeeper by Tara Sim – This story takes place in a Victorian era Britain where clock towers are needed for time to flow correctly. Therefore there is lot of mechanics who repair said clock towers, because if the clock stops, the town around it stops in time as well. The main character Danny is one of those mechanics in London, but his father is trapped in a town that Stopped and Danny needs to find a way to save him. But after someone tries to sabotage a clock tower in a small city, Danny is assigned in that town to fix it, and he eventually finds out that the myths he heard – that in clock towers could sometimes be seen beings, spirits of the towers – might actually be true. This book was so nice to read, there was the atmosphere of the Victorian era, mystery, cute mlm romance and awesome female characters.
I’ll give you the sun by Jandy Nelson – I cried a lot reading this book. At first it actually took me few months to read past first two chapters, because the writing style was so different from what I was used to, but after that I got absorbed in it very quickly. It’s a story about two siblings, Noah and Jude Sweetwine, who both go through some difficult times, with family, school and personal stuff, it’s about making mistakes and fixing mistakes. It’s about love, art, sibling struggles and growing up.
Other books that I read and loved and definitely recommend:
Of Fire and Stars - Audrey Coulthurst (f/f fantasy romance)
We are the Ants –  Shaun David Hutchinson (m/m)
In Other Lands -  Sarah Rees Brennan (bi mc, m/m)
Release – Patrick Ness (m/m)
Our dark duet – V.E. Schwab (sequel of duology, agender character, not much romance at all in this duology, it‘s one of my favourites)
A Conjuring of Light – V.E. Schwab (a beautiful fantasy, last book of trilogy, happy ending for m/m pairing whose each story is important throughout the whole series. Again, one of my favourite series)
Magnus Chase and the Ship of Dead - Rick Riordan (I don‘t want to spoil here but it‘s good, genderfluid representation since book two, more in this final book)
Ice crypt - Tiana Warner (sequel of the Ice Massacre, wlw romance between mermaid and human girl, who knew each other since childhood, there is third final book, Ice Kingdom, already out, but I still haven‘t read it..)
Happy reading!
(tagging few people who i think might enjoy it ♥♥: @eradne, @poefinn, @twomillionfreckles, @eliotcoldwater, @queen-max, @tsukiyam-a)

The thing about Hollywood is that it’s all a matter of luck, chance, and the slightest bit of talent.
When Clarke was eight she nabbed her first acting role thanks to her mother, the esteemed Abby Griffin. It was on one of those family sitcoms, a Seinfeld for the modern era that ran for five years, and Clarke was the kid who was going places.
The show had barely finished its farewell press tour before her mother signed her up for a movie that began filming Arizona just two weeks later and all of a sudden that was her life for the next seven years. Movie after movie, procedural after procedural. All in hopes that one day Abby’s years of grooming would pay off and land Clarke a role that would win her an Oscar.
And it was working, because at twenty, Clarke was a household name. Maybe not quite up to Oscar standards, but she definitely garnered a couple teen choice nominations.
And then her dad died.
And things went… south.
The script lands on the coffee table with a dull thud and Clarke squints at Anya through one eye from where her face is buried in one of Raven’s throw cushions.
“What’s that?” she asks, voice muffled through the vivid pink fabric and cross-stitched swears.
“A lifeline,” says Anya as she scrolls through her phone. “I heard you could use one.”
Clarke’s spent the past couple of months traversing the Canadian wilderness with her girlfriend, completely cut off to the outside world until the two of them got into an argument that eventually culminated in a breakup. After that they went their separate ways with Clarke hitch hiking to the nearest airport and scrounging up her last bit of savings to book a flight to New York where she’s been crashing on Raven’s couch ever since, homeless, heartbroken, and flat out broke.
So yeah, she could use a fucking lifeline.
