i really admire the style of 90s cartoons, everything from the visual art itself to the physical comedy to the emotion within it is something ive always thought was really fun and expressive

i wouldnt say my artstyle is inspired, since i cant really achieve the level of structural fluidity many iconic cartoons of the time had as of right now

however, im super glad that it seems theyve impacted me enough to seep just a little bit into how i draw !! i really do love the art styles of older cartoons. i think their goofiness is super appealing and kinda showcases the childish freedom but also the weirdly eerie nostalgia of the timeframe

ANYWAY thats just a super long way for me to say thank you, as even the slightest resemblance to this unique genre is such a compliment

Made this for the Solarpunk Aesthetic Week server in a sudden creative fever, so I guess I'll post it here too hh

A relative of mine knows someone who teaches kids, so I'm gonna suggest this as an art project for them! The idea is that students could each make/decorate their own shelf, then put them together to form a hive, which could function as mini lockers in their classrooms. Then, by the end of the school year or something, they could either take their own little shelf home (or exchange them with their peers?), or recycle them into materials for the next class! Hopefully it'll teach them about pollinators too 🐝

Idk how doable this project is really, and its scary to imagine one of my silly designs could actually become something tangible irl. But even so, I'm still excited to try 🥰 (And if anyone else attempts this too, please let me know!!!)

Imagine artistic!reader having a little shop downtown (my downtown roads are paved by bricks instead of the road and it seems like time goes to the past so I'm putting it that way sort of). Selling portraits of the regulars that walk in. Painting landscapes.

Miguel walks in looking for this universe's spider. Seeing how talented reader is and he becomes a regular. They study his face to make him a portrait and realize "Oh fuck. He's really pretty." Around the same time, Miguel realizes he's liking reader too. They give him the portrait since he's been visiting their shop at least once a week for the past couple of months and they're both ~flustered~ but refuse to admit they're falling for each other.

Soon after they give him the portrait, Miguel finds that universe's spiderperson. He thinks he recognizes their voice but isn't quite sure where to place it.

Then comes the "Oh Fuck™️" moment when he walks in on them without their mask.

Mouth agape and staring semi-wide-eyed, he realizes it's the portrait shop owner. The talented one. The one he thought was pretty.

He'd never seen them without their mask. In the shop they'd worn a mask, but he had assumed it was because of the paint fumes or something else.

Not because of the scar.

He awkwardly walks out of the room as reader covers their cheek/mouth area. Neither of them spoke about it again.

Eventually, they confess to each other and reader slowly gets more comfortable with their mask off because of Miguel's praise and assurance. Overcoming their insecurity slowly, starting with just an hour without it, to a day or two, to a week, and so on until it's barely on anymore. And when it is, Miguel is still lovey and assures them they're perfect and that he loves them so much ❤️

Mxtx was so sexy for having shen qingqiu experience the shen jiu flashbacks and still deciding to dislike him. Don't get me wrong I eat up all those awesome fanfics and headcannons of them having some sort of positive relationship like it's breadsticks, but sy!shen qingqiu's canon perception of shen jiu is just so juicy!

Like, you die, you die cursing and screaming some trashfire novel but wake up in your least favorite character's body. But he's not a character anymore, you eventually find out and accept that you and everyone around you is real. This body is real and so was the person who had it before. This body was theirs but now its yours. This body has done real horrendous things to real people that you care about. Some omnipotent system inside you is encouraging and coercing you into doing similar horrendous acts this body would have done, what it used to do. This body is not yours but now it is and now you have to live with it knowing you have to act out this body's role. Hurt your loved ones, distance yourself from your comrades, die a painful death. That is what this body was meant for, this was the original owner's fate, live with it. You are now one of the only people in the whole world that intimately knows how that man was the way he was and why he did the things he did. But that does not make it better, you feel pity, some sort of regret for how things could have been, but you cant forgive and forget because you hate him. You hate the character who turned out to be a man. You hate the man that used to own this body. You hate this body that's yours but not really yours. You hate your role, this narrative, this world, your future circumstances. Your actions of self preservation that have caused great harm. And ultimately, you hate yourself.
