btw i'm watching the 100 for the first time in my life but i remember the hype on the internet in like 2015 about this serie

i have Thoughts (just started 3rd season so this is about seasons 1 and 2)

everyone is fucking stupid. like really really stupid. i cant believe humanity survived for 97 years

i miss anya. she was such a badass. clarke: "nuuuh i need a sharp and sterile knife-" anya proceeds to BIT HER OWN ARM to get the chip out. 10/10 character

about the mountain weather arc: oh my god they are so stupid. mountain people are so stupid i mean. "ohh we need sky people's bone marrow so we can survive but theres only 47 of them so in order to take all the bone marrow for us they have to die" you know how they could handle this shit?? by fucking ASKING. they KNEW there were other sky people on the ground now. like at least 100 of them i think. so they should have gone to them and say, "hi sorry we are humans who have to live underground bc radiations. but your bone marrow could save us. so can all of you give us a bit of your bone marrow? we offer an alliance and other commodities (medicines etc)". imo sky people would say YES bc bone marrow grows back its not too dangerous to donate it if its just a bit. everybody would be alive by now. and i wouldnt have got a headache

still about mountain weather arc: another way to handle that would have been: asking the 47 kids a bit of their bone marrow and WAITING it to grow back. like donators in real life yk? by 2 years all of the mountain people could have gone on the surface and everybody would be alive now and i wouldnt have got a headache

marcus kane is also a very funny character. hes desperately trying to die since they flowed those 320 people on the arc. and i LOVE he CANT die. everytime he's like "omg finally im going to die" and someone saves him. im sure as soon as he thinks "ok maybe being alive is not so bad" he gets shot

mountain weather arc is truly the most stupid thing that every happened in a tv show. they chose the worst possible way to handle the problem. they acted more stupidly than the kids in season 1. i really cant believe humanity survived for 97 years

the "100" on the spaceship were NEVER exactly one hundred. bc bellamy got inside so they were 101. but during the landing 2 kids died. so they were 99. there is not a single moment in this serie called "the 100" were they are one hundred. this fact is driving me crazy

i truly hope everyone dies bc i hate almost all of them. the only people that imo are allowed to survive are: octavia, jasper, monty, raven, murphy, kane (bc its funny he cant die), and all of the grounders. other peoples are too stupid to live so i hope they die soon so i dont get other headaches (edit: bellamy is on thin ice bc hes funny but hes also very much stupid)

OK, I feel like we might as well bring Astarion to talk with Araj before we move on anywhere else in Moonrise Towers, so back to camp we go!

We don't actually have the option to tell him where we're bringing him and why before doing it, so we'll just dive right in.

Hey, Araj, I brought you Astarion like you wan--

"I never thought I'd see one in real life... I read about your kind for so many years, but you are a finer specimen than any bestiary could describe."

Hm.

So given how flustered she was before, I was like 95% certain that they already knew each other, but the 5% has it; she's looking at him like a piece of (scholarly) meat.

Astarion, to his credit, did not immediately punch her, but just cocked his head to one side and gave the most frankly bemused expression I've ever seen from him.

This was a truly glorious bit of expressive mocap; he looked like he wasn't sure whether to laugh, be angry, or have her committed.

"You're really a vampire? At least one of their spawn..."

Astarion does a creditable impression of a carefree laugh, clearly wondering why the hell Hector brought him to this conversation. "Don't worry," he says brightly. "We're all friends under the Absolute."

His head drops and his eyes narrow slightly, his smile turning brittle. "I won't bite."

Araj smiles coolly. "Oh, I'd prefer if you did."

Her eyes flick to Hector. "And he's yours to command. My envy is palpable."

The image compression doesn't really help much here but both of them are making 100% apropos faces in response to this. Hector is baffled and Astarion thinks the idea of being Hector's to command is the funniest fucking thing in the universe.

"Excuse me?" Hector says firmly. "He's his own person." Whatever Araj might have in mind, he is not going to be party to anything that puts Astarion back under anyone's yoke.

Araj smiles disdainfully. "I'm sure he really believes that. How utterly adorable."

She turns back to Astarion briskly. "Do you have a name, spawn?"

He blinks at her. "Astarion. But hold on--"

"Good," she cuts him off. "Now, Astarion..." Her head tips back slightly and her lips part, and she looks him over with a gaze that can only be called lascivious. "I've dreamt of being bitten by a vampire sinc eI was a very young girl."

Hector and Astarion both stare at her. "I'm sorry? You *want* to be bitten?" Astarion asks. Hector glances sideways, expecting to see him with that wide, cocky, hungry grin - but to his surprise, the elf looks thoroughly uncomfortable.

Araj's smile widens, a touch of madness, of obsession in it now. "To feel your life's blood slipping away? To dance on the edge between life and death? Yes...I want it..."

Hector is struck by a sudden, visceral memory of that early night in camp, long before Karlach ever touched him - the heady weight of Astarion's body pressing into his and the sharp icepick incision of teeth into his neck. The descent into dizzy, drifty euphoria as the blood flowed out of him. A bewildering sensation - not one he would seek a second time, though...

Araj seems to recognize that she is not getting the snappy response that she wanted. "I'll even compensate you," she goes on hastily, looking towards Hector, not Astarion, as she says so. "A potion of legendary power that forever increases the strength of the one who consumes it. It's not for sale, but it's yours if you bite me."

Astarion lets out a nervous giggle. "I will have to decline," he says before Hector can say anything. He's still smiling brightly but the facade is cracking. There's fear under the denial.

Araj's eyes flash angrily. "Excuse me? This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and you're squandering it."

"I GAVE you my answer!" Astarion snaps, taking a step back; the mask has cracked completely now and his expression has gone tight with fear and anger, a look Hector has never seen there before.

The strangeness of this moment, while not lost on the party, is very lost on Araj, who simply rolls her eyes and looks towards Hector with irritation. "Can't you talk some sense into your obstinate charge?" she demands.

Hector hesitates. The potion sounds nice, of course, but it is a complete non-issue to him if Astarion doesn't want to bite this woman; he's certainly not going to force it. But he's confused. He's never seen Astarion in this state before. "I am surprised, Astarion," he says mildly. "I thought you'd jump at a chance like this."

His confusion is sincere - but Astarion clearly doesn't read it that way. His eyes narrow coldly and he looks from Hector to Araj and laughs humorlessly.

"I'm sorry, but -- would you excuse us for a moment?"

Without waiting for a response, he grabs Hector by the collar and drags him several feet away.

"Are you seriously asking me to do this?" he hisses furiously. "Trading me for some potion?"

Hector opens his mouth to say that no, of course he wasn't trying to trade Astarion for anything, that he was just surprised, but the elf is still talking.

"Because there's *something wrong with her blood.*" He draws back, wrinkles his nose. "I can smell it from here. It's *rank*."

Hector tilts his head quizzically. "What do you mean? What's wrong with her blood?"

"I can't say," Astarion snaps. "It just smells wrong. Unnatural. Drinking it wouldn't kill me, but it would *not* be pleasant."

His lips curl and his shoulders square, and Hector realizes very abruptly that he is fully ready to fight rather than be forced into this decision. And the reason for that is, when he thinks about it, obvious.

This isn't about food. This is about power. This woman doesn't want to feed him, or even trade with him - she wants to use him.

And Astarion has had 200 years of being used, and even now he is willing to believe that Hector wants to use him just the same.

A flash of grief and compasson goes through him that is almost painful in intensity. I thought I had earned more of your trust than that. But then again...I have centuries of your history to stand against.

"I don't have all day, True Soul," Araj puts in impatiently.

Astarion is looking at him like a frightened horse ready to bolt. Hector shakes his head once slightly. "Don't do anything you don't want to," he tells the other man gently, and then is silent.

Astarion stares at him for a long moment. "...All right," he says, and his tone is remarkably devoid of anything sarcastic or harsh. He sounds stunned. The tension goes out of his shoulders, and then he smiles. "Thank you."

He turns back to Araj, and his bearing has straightened a little, more confident and direct; without realizing it, he had slipped into a slump-shouldered posture as he expected Hector to deliver him over, but he has command of himself once again now.

"It's still a no, I'm afraid," he says firmly.

"How very disappointing," Araj sneers.

Astarion turns and walks away without a backward glance, and the rest of the group trails behind him down the corridor. It's only when they are out of earshot that he stops, and looks at Hector with wide eyes, and after a moment's hesitation puts a hand on the taller man's shoulder. "Thank you," he says softly. "I appreciated that."

Clone Wars - Clone Cadets

DOMINOES DOMINOES DOMINOES.

Bravery, valor, unity, the lifeblood of victory on the battlefield

This is very funny because I think they put this bit over a clip from Hidden Enemy which, no matter how you look at it, is certainly not an episode about unity.

Anyway there's a lot dropped into this opening including that all of the clones teachers were bounty hunters, surely a group of people well known for their patience and gentle handling of children. Also, "Bred to be perfect soldiers, these cadets must first be subjected to intense physical and mental training before heading off to war" is simply a sentence that gives me the heebiest of jeebies.

The different vibes the chronological order gives to the clones existence continues to be blatant though. Like I know I've pointed it out several times in these but like, it really is front loaded with some truly terrible content when it comes to clone mistreatment, and having Slick's episode lead into clones dropping every five seconds in the movie into this episode about their training from birth to almost inevitable battlefield death is just a lot. I CARE A LOT ABOUT CLONES AND I WANT SOMETHING BETTER FOR THEM DAMN IT.

MY CHILDREN ARE HERE THOUGH. And god but baby Echo is so stressed all the time. Nobody is in formation. They don't like their nickname. Everyone is shouting. They insist on calling Fives by his full CT number and it makes thank yous a very intensive process. Don't worry, if you think your team is difficult to keep track of now it won't be long until you find yourself with and even crazier one. The audacity of this simulation being The Citadel though given what happens. AUDACITY.

And 99 ;A; Treasure.

"YOU'VE NEVER EVEN MET A GIRL" remains one of the funniest throwaway lines in the show.

Baby Echo though has one (1) thought and it's WE NEED TO FOLLOW ORDERS, PLEASE DEAR GOD. And instead all they get is punched. Team Cohesion? Never heard of it.

Leave my man alone he's just fucking standing there why you gotta bring him into it? Anyway this line makes me really wonder why we haven't heard ANYTHING about 99 in TBB, like it just seems that in two seasons we should have gotten something about the guy that they're named after in two different ways.

Ma'am, I think that you've been here long enough to have noticed that Lama Su does not care about petty things like 'the rights of living beings.' Shaak Ti is one of my most Complicated Feelings Jedi, though, because she'll say things like this and later talk about Fives as property and kind of treat him like it too. (Permanently thinking about when Fives was trying to see what the hell they were doing to Tup and Shaak Ti closes the shutter on him without a word.)

I do think she sincerely feels empathy for the clone troopers but I'm not convinced that translates into '100% believes they are full human beings" just going by actions through the show. "You Jedi show too much compassion" sure but Lama Su thinks literally anything is too much compassion, it's not a high bar.

Every day I am caught in the conundrum of what's likely just writer inconsistency.

GOD THE ABSOLUTE AWKWARD SILENCE AFTER COLT ASKS HOW THE DOMINO SQUAD IS. RIP BOYS.

Still love that they named that poor bastard Droidbait. Do you think it puts a damper on things when Echo and Fives look back and remember their squad like you can be normal about mourning Hevy and Cutup but you try to memorialize Droidbait and shit gets awkward. You'll never believe what happened to their good friend. Droidbait.

It is interesting that leaving a man behind is an automatic fail only because every other thing we see with the clones is that the mission comes first and individual clones are expendable. But still, not the vibe they were going for with this episode so the rules change accordingly.

Bric is definitely on the list of most unlikable characters for his whole scene with Cutup. Fuck this guy throw him into the ocean. Complete counter to the sweet scene with 99 trying to encourage Hevy.

"Stop calling me that. We're just numbers 99. Just numbers." "Not to me. To me... you've always had a name."

LINES THAT MAKE ME WANT TO FUCKING SOB EVERY TIME. I absolutely adore 99 and we do not get enough time with him.

Do not like that Shaak Ti validates Bric's assholery by letting his actively trying to fuck over the cadets slide. Yes Jedi wisdom or whatever but genuinely fuck this guy.

And of course... the Hevy and 99 scene at the end. "We'll see each other again. How else am I supposed to get this back from you?" Agonizing. AGONIZING.

This is one of the episodes I think works much better in its original order. Watching it chronologically is interesting of course, but can't bring the unmatched brutality of seeing them try so hard for a victory knowing that in almost no time at all three of them are going to be dead anyway and that Hevy is never coming back for that medal. So yeah, not too far in and we've hit at least one that definitely works best as a flashback.

This is my first anon here, as I typically only read the anons for my girlfriend on this page. So I apologize if this isn't that good. But I just finished watching Priscilla, and let me say this here and now. IN DEFENSE OF JACOB ELORDI: He is is a FANTASTIC Elvis. I would not have anyone else be Elvis in terms of this movie. He fits the vibes of this movie perfectly, he fits Elvis perfectly in this movie. I'm not saying Austin Butler is a bad Elvis, he's amazing. But he doesn't FIT this movie, at all. If I saw Austin Butler on screen as Elvis in the Priscilla movie, it just wouldn't fit. It really wouldn't.

Yeah, Austin has that Lana Del Rey vibe about him. But he has a Lana vibe when he's blonde, not when he's black haired. Not just this but his face is more suited for a Baz Lurhmann movie, not for an A24 Sofia Coppola movie. When watching this movie on screen, you really cannot envision anyone else as Elvis, not even Austin Butler.

The other reason why Jacob did so well as Elvis in the Priscilla movie compared to Austin. Is because Austin's movie "ELVIS" mainly and solely FOCUSES on Elvis himself. Priscilla- doesn't. Priscilla is focused on Priscilla, not on Elvis. So due to this, they needed to find an actor that could be Elvis, but not look like a full mimic of Elvis, just- have Elvis' voice down, body mannerisms down, and as I said, someone who FIT the movie. Who FITS the vibe of the movie, and also has great chemistry with Cailee Spaeny.

It bothers me how people are giving this masterpiece of a movie a 1 and a 2 purely because Elvis is played by Jacob Elordi. I'm sorry but if you have a true and real passion for movies, and for cinematography, you would SEE why Austin wasn't chosen, and you'd also give this movie a shot.

I loved this movie, I really did. I'd rate it an 8/10, it was such a pretty and aesthetic movie. I won't spoil anything but it was genuinely such a good film. Sorry for the long anon.

gonna start with your second to last paragraph: yeah it's been frustrating as someone who has begun to "get into" film as a whole that i feel like because i'm a big fan of one specific actor that i have to view everything through that fan lens. i want to watch movies with as small a bias as possible. i didn't go into bottoms or priscilla thinking "well even if i hate it it'll just come online and lie for the cause" if i truly didn't like either film i would say that! i believe in being honest with y'all and think it behooves the community i've built on here to be honest. i'm seeing the holdovers this weekend bc film twitter zoe's tweets about loving it piqued my interest and idk if i'll like it, but we'll see! i've said a few times that while i'm really excited to see austin in dune that sci fi isn't really my thing and i might not like it outside of his parts. but maybe i'll surprise myself, who knows!

i personally think austin could pull off this type of movie so i guess we disagree there for the most part- though i get why it might be harder to like- vision him in that role after seeing him in the other one. but i do get what you're saying. i don't think anyone but austin could've pulled off baz luhrmann's elvis. baz is 100% spot on when he calls him a miracle. (and before y'all get on my ass for posting something slightly critical of austin, please unclench. i welcome genuine discussion like this when it's civil.) he was born for that role and as a woowoo person who fully believes in fate stuff like that...yeah.

i thought jacob was great, and obviously he can't control how tall he is but i think that was a factor of what took me out of it and made me see him as more "nate jacobs playing elvis" in the serious moments. like i get what people are saying in that sofia cast people with a height diff like that on purpose to show the power dynamic. but as an elvis fan who *knows* he was not that tall it didn't work for me. and i mean- she said the movie isn't for elvis fans so that's alright! the average viewer isn't someone who knows how tall elvis was haha. just my perspective. i thought he really pulled off the elvis of it all in the more lighthearted moments and was pleasantly surprised that he did when his focus in his portrayal was obv the darker side. (since you've seen the movie you'll know what i'm referring to with "the salute thing". that CRACKED me up and felt so in tune with how "goofy" elvis could be at times, and i've been wondering if it was scripted or if jacob improv-ed it. i hope sofia releases the screenplay someday like they did for elvis 2022, i wanna see it!)

⊰⊹ DURING: Will accidentally open your veil before the person in charge says “you may now kiss the bride/groom.” He doesn’t care about the cameras, all he sees is you, you and you. Jeno won't cry in the actual event but he will be teary eyed af for sure (he's saving the tears for when you guys are alone).

⊰⊹ AFTER: He will take all his chances to carry you and hold you in his arms all night long. Jeno’s signature eye smile will be plastered on his face all night. That innocent face also prepared a bed of roses and other surprises in your room ready for the honeymoon ;)

⊰⊹ BEFORE: Haechan will pull a prank on you before the wedding so that you’ll coming running to him and he’ll see you (he can’t take the “you can’t see each other the night before the wedding” tradition because he misses you already). He will even make the vow writing a group activity lmao: “Whatchu writing?” “Haechan, stop looking! This is supposed to be a surprise.”

⊰⊹ DURING: He will tell everyone “I’m not gonna cry, that’s sus” but will definitely cry while laughing and get laughed at by family and friends lightheartedly. Haechan will say the funniest vows out of everyone but will also make you emotional because he can switch from being humorous to serious in 0.00001 second.

⊰⊹ AFTER: Reception is real party vibes; it’s not over until it’s game over. He might get bored eventually so you too will sneak out laughing in your wedding attires and just chill around the hotel’s swimming pools. He might also push you into a pool so he can save you and bathe you afterwards ;)

⊰⊹ DURING: Jaemin will also give one of the funniest vows but it's because he's unintentionally funny in his speech delivery. He will say the sweetest and uplifting words, refraining from being too emotional because he doesn't want to see you cry... but you still do. Dude might do mild aegyo in front of everyone just to see you smile again (you know the finger on pouty lips one that he does with Renjun? Yep, that one).

⊰⊹ AFTER: He will drag you somewhere when everyone’s busy partying just so he can give you a kissth. He’s down to party with your family and friends but only if you’re always by his side. And he definitely won't care if the party's over or not--once he sees that you’re tired or want to be alone with him, he'll announce to everyone that you guys are gonna bounce… and bounce you shall ;)

The “We can afford a Kardashian wedding but I’d rather keep it simple” Groom

⊰⊹ BEFORE: Boi WILL 100% invite his bestie Stephen Curry. There will be three weddings: one for the grand wedding (at an arena for all of Shanghai to see--he doesn’t like this one but gotta keep those investors in check, you know?). Another for a small circle wedding (just family and friends). The last will be the “just the two of us casually exchanging chips and diamond rings while playing pubg” wedding

⊰⊹ DURING: Daddy Chenle will never forget to mention his son Mark in his vows and speeches. His whole clan will shower you with gifts and affection so much that he doesn’t know if he should be happy or annoyed because they’re not giving you two enough time to spend YOUR wedding together. He’s staying put though because hakuna matata #the scorpio side jumped out

⊰⊹ AFTER: No one else is allowed to touch you except for him. He will carry you bridal style away from the building and to his car so he can have you all to himself. He’ll definitely cry happy tears when it's just the two of you.

listen to me. this is one of the funniest drarry fics i've ever read. i was cackling in my bed at 2am because harry’s internal monologues throughout this fic are unhinged. insanely quotable. “what was he, a lothario” and “you were crushing me with your muscular thighs!” are lines that live rent free in my empty head. harry has never played anything cool a day in his life. there’s a faculty meeting where the teachers are planning the yule ball and debating the merits of a DJ when harry decides he must defend his muggle-music-loving honor by dancing seductively to akon’s smack that while a blushing draco loses his mind. i fucking screamed. and the best part is that in between the comedic scenes threading the overall story, you have extremely tender moments of like, padma patil helping harry become a more rooted desi by sharing their cultural traditions, harry proudly donning his sherwani. draco wrestling with his past, going to harry’s lgbtq+ club for students, being sheepish with ron and hermione. ugh, comedic writers with emotional depth are clever and talented as hell!!

Realities, Unfurling by @ebbet - 45k - M Draco Malfoy is released from Azkaban into a changed world.

incredible collage-fic told from multiple povs. 8yrs post-war and everything’s changed. the current state of the magical world unfolds via slice-of-life snapshots from a truly stunning cast. non-binary harry whom is running a non-prof org dedicated to building tolerance and establishing equality for marginalized identities. post-prison-release draco whose life will be changed by the internet. neville’s tender relationship with blaise. andromeda’s fiercely protective mothering. remus and sirius being alive and very hot and just, the tender goddads harry deserved. cho chang being brilliant. baker pansy’s softened edges. found families abound. harry being flustered by their crush on draco and making personalized playlists on an iPod nano.

that all might sound narratively cluttered but the author more than pulls this off. glorious, start to finish.

first of all, i feel very seen by draco being a gay-who-can’t-drive. it’s called representation. but mostly i love the ease of harry and draco’s banter, a flustered harry discovering his sexuality, and the way this fic addresses biphobia. also very emo over this exchange: “I think I might be scared of you, but probably not for the reasons you think.” “Yes.” Draco stares at Harry. “I think I might be scared of you too.”

Forged through flowing water by @tedahfromtayla (an @hd-erised fic) - 40k - E When Hermione sets up a diplomatic mission to begin repairing the damage British colonisation did to Indian magical communities Harry isn’t going to pass on the opportunity to visit and help his family’s home country. Maybe he should have asked a few more questions about the personnel she had recruited for it before signing on because Malfoy surely has an ulterior motive to be there.

so much to love about this fic. the beautiful settings, from kolkata to mumbai, to the holi festival and colorful lively streets, to remote cave settlements and old intricate temples. it’s harry in the homeland, reconnecting to his family’s heritage and confronting the weight of imperialism in his history. it’s nipping the white savior complex in the bud. this part: That is what England left behind. That is what it still stands for, despite whatever mask of respectability and honour it presents. . .You don't get to step aside and let someone else deal with the mess. You have to listen and learn and then act, Malfoy, you need to learn how to fix your own mess. This is why we're here. my indigenous ass cheered. HP certainly sells the british fantasy but HP fanfic?? fuck jkr, fuck the crown. i love that this fic doesn’t romanticize england’s history. i love that we get to see the vast resilience and beauty of post-colonial india.

the switch in distinct character voices works so well for this fic!! tonally i feel like i'm watching an episode of the office. i personally love harry and draco being Pissed Off at how much they want to bone each other. the battle of the tapenade was the most riveting dinner scene i've read in a minute. clever, hilarious, emotionally tense. can’t wait until that inevitable moment post hate-sex when they’re gonna be like “oh noooo it’s a Heart Boner as well!! >:((” hell ya we’re subscribing for chapter updates.

non-magical bookshop AU. remus and sirius’ relationship is a marvel. the ease of their affection with harry makes me so emo. draco’s friends being insistently present even as he tries to isolate himself. this is a story about acceptance, found families, and falling in love at a distance. the intimacy, the longing, the tenderness. what a fic!! i keep coming back to this part:...he looks at ease, inside his body, a body he needed to fight for. He’d made peace with his struggles and his scars. And Draco realises he wants that. He wants to be at ease inside his body, the body that now carries a virus. He wants to be at peace with his own existence. you hurt for draco so deeply but you get moments like these where he affords himself a kindness that feels foreign and it’s just!! the boys navigating grief and learning to be vulnerable. so good.

Valentines Day with Gojo was usually chaotic, but you didn’t blame him, it was apart of his personality after all. He didn’t take you to any particular establishment, really. You were curled up in your bed, exhausted from a long day of baking goods, watching sappy love movies, and overall shenanigans. You didn’t particularly mind this though, a soft lazy breeze preventing you from overheating, you sigh in relief. It’s like the weather knew exactly what you needed for a relaxing evening. Although, today seemed rather unusual. For the many years that you’ve dated Satoru, he never, ever dressed up. Usually he rolled out of bed, naked. A pair of grey sweatpants replaced what was usually his uniform pants. Just enough for you to see the start of his happy trail, in other words, a fruitful attempt of teasing you. He knew that he was attractive, and you didn’t mind fueling his ego. A toned body, almost like he had been specially picked by some divine being and gifted with society’s standards. But he had actually picked out an outfit for this particular Valentines Day, which you admitted was nice, but you also didn’t mind licking your lips at such a delicious physique. On the rare occasions that he picked out outfits, it wouldn’t be visually appealing, the guy only wore his work uniform or a casual t-shirt and a pair of shorts, or sweatpants. Yet, today? Weirdly different. Clad in a dark blue cashmere crewneck sweater paired with black jeans, he nervously picked at the clothing, fidgeting. You guessed he had gotten some fashion advice from one of his friends, as you also realized it was... Somewhat trendy. Chains dangling from his neck, a few from his pants as well, a designer belt... You had wondered who it was that was so gracious enough to make him hotter then he already was. The air of his usual carefree personality was gone, which was one of your favorite parts about him, and he had insisted this morning to take you to an actual diner, which you rejected. As soon as you turned your back to grab some more sugar, he pulled you back, hand on your shoulder. A determined look on his face that you could see even through his circular shades, clearing his throat. “Hey- just to be sure, pumpkin... You’re not denying because you think I’m poor or some shit like that, right? I’m financially stable as all hell, and I’ll buy you anything you set your eyes on, seriously. I need to spoil you sometimes, okay?” He spoke with a tone of nervousness, and you cocked your head to look at him, eyebrow slightly raised. “What’s with you today, babe? You never do this sorta shit.” Seemingly taken aback, he looked at you for a few seconds, unblinking. Wondering if it went one ear out the other, you’re about to repeat yourself before he shoves a hand on your mouth. “I just wanna try something new, that’s all. Carry on, sweets. Need more M&M’s? I can drive to the store and get them..” kissing your exposed neck a few times, suckling at the flesh, he snickered as you gasped, and that was the end of that. ‧₊˚✩彡. The thought never completely disappeared from your mind, instead it ran rampant. You were curious, after all. Why would perhaps the chillest and funniest guy you knew, be so scared and nerve-wrecked? “Hey, hey~!” you hear a familiar voice ring out, and you pick up your head from his pillow that you were laying on, adjusting your eyes so you could drink in his beauty fully. He wasn’t completely in the room, his head was poking out of the door just barely. “Finally, what were you doing? Took you a few years to come home.” casually getting up from your previous position, you hug your pillow, patiently waiting for his next sentence. “Ah... Uh, nothing. Don’t worry about it.” he shuffled closer into the room, but he never quite came into view, the atmosphere of awkwardness was growing. Rolling your eyes, you giggle, desperate to have the mood be carefree yet again. “You suck at hiding shit, come on, lemme see, what’d you get me?” “It was supposed to be a surprise!” he said, exasperated, but he does it anyways. A beautiful scent of roses wafted throughout the room, a trail of spare rose petals danced down as he strode over to the bed, a playful grin on his lips. You cover your mouth with your hands, squealing. “Satoru! These are so pretty!” you ecstatically grab at the bouquet, the crinkling of the plastic music to your ears. You sniffed at the roses, pleasantly surprised at just how sweet they smelled. Vibrant hues of pinks and reds, small and large, a loose ribbon holding the bouquet together. Your smile is so wide, you struggle to hide it. “Glad you like them, honey.” he grinned, taking his shades off and placing them on his nightstand. “Hold on tight, more to come, love.” He takes a quick jog to the hallway leading to you two’s room, quickly getting out of view. Coming back just 20 seconds later, a teddybear half the size of him now limp in his hands, another ribbon around the teddybear’s neck. “For you, my sweet.” he sings, setting the plush down onto the covers. You look at the teddybear, staring at you with beady eyes, and back up at Gojo. “But babe, you’re my teddybear.” you cooed, hoping to get some sort of reaction out of him. You see his facial features soften, before he immediately plants a sloppy kiss on your forehead, “Wouldn’t hurt to have another one, would it?” You nod your head in agreement. The chill aura seemed to vanish into thin air as soon as you nod, the silence was almost deafening. He stared at you, and you stared back, you hear your heart steadily pound in your chest. Usually he would make some sort of joke right now and then, but he seemed unusually serious, to the point where you’d be concerned. “You’ve been acting weird all day, are you okay?-” you ask, but you’re immediately cut off. Gojo gets on one knee, and your heart races and you swear you see the light, playing with the hem of his jean pockets before pulling some sort of wrapper out. A wrapper? It’s a Ringpop, two flavors. Blue raspberry and watermelon, he hastily places the blue raspberry one into his pocket again, cursing as he struggled to do so, before finally repositioning. “Will you marry me, (Y/N)?” It takes a moment to register into your brain, for one, he was proposing with a Ringpop, but you guess that’s like him, his love of candy was absurd- but a Ringpop of all things? You feel your face fall, and you hope he doesn’t realize. The thought was good, but it felt strangely.. Tacky, in some ways. Nonetheless, your heart is still pounding rapidly inside of you, and you’re sweating bullets now. Skin burning to the touch, you look at him, heavily breathing. “Yes, oh my God, yes.” is all you can breathe out. His solemn face was now beaming, eyes bright and twinkling. He seems to scoff, like he doesn’t quite believe that you said yes to such a request, but he doesn’t want to give it another thought. Immediately diving headfirst into your face, your lips touch, and even though you had kissed him about a thousand times today, you still returned just as much passion. You felt like your whole body was about to give out, wobbling as he placed the Ringpop onto the covers. Forgotten, it sat idly, but you didn’t care, and nor did Gojo. Hand now at the back of your neck, the other on your hip, the sound of sloppy kisses filled the otherwise calm room. They were strangely chaste, nothing sexual about them, yet they felt so fulfilling you wonder how he does it. He was unusually good at kissing, but you don’t want to tell him that- the egotistical bastard. He pulls away from the kiss, and you whine, pulling at the collar of his sweater to come back- to please you- but he pays no mind to you. Instead, he rips open the wrapper, throwing it to the ground, pulling up your limp arm. With a confident toothy smile on his face, he slipped the translucent pink plastic ring onto your left middle finger. “That’s my middle.” you say, struggling to stifle your giggle. Who cared about getting a Ringpop? It was the thought that counted, right? You still felt horrible, for whatever reason. “I know that.” he doesn’t say it directly to your face, instead shuffling in his pockets once more, before he whips out what looks like a black cube. This time, you recognize an expensive label on it, a miniature velvety black box. “I just.. Wanted to make sure you were committed, and that you didn’t want me for my money or some bullshit like that.” he grinned, opening the box, he doesn’t give you a moment to eye it, instead plucking it out and slipping it onto your ring finger. Only then could you look at it, and you cover your mouth once more, tears beginning to form at the corner of your eyes. It was beautiful, truly, and you couldn’t explain it’s beauty with words. Glimmering diamonds, alongside a beautiful silvery frame- it was perfect. “...Do you like it?” he asks, once again an air of nervousness. Unable to speak, you hug him instead, now full on bawling. He laughs, rubbing your back, giving you another neck kiss. “Holy shit, you’re so cute, pumpkin. Or should I say, soon to be spouse?” he cooed. “Shut up.” you say, still sniffling, snot running down your nose. He chuckles dryly once again, wiping your tears away with his thumb. “If you’re not gonna eat that Ringpop, can I?” “Zip it, can’t you see I’m crying, dummy?” you respond, still ugly crying. It was the best Valentines day you had ever experienced, and nothing could quite conquer it.

@gunatps: vee! i have already embarrassed myself enough in my post to you but it’s worth repeating. i adore our eden chanonpom breakdown sessions, which we should have again soon when you have time, and i love us roasting modi in the chat, it truly cracks me up! we have so much in common and i just want to say that i am so proud of you for studying and taking your exams - i know how difficult they are.

okay, so i think that’s everyone that i either talk to regularly or admire a lot! in case i didn’t mention you, please please feel free to reach out to me because i mean no offense at all - my brain is small haha. would also like to shout out all my anons who send me asks and bear with my late responses these days because of life, i adore you all and i love answering your asks.

if you’re still reading after this... whole monster of a post, i’m just gonna quickly mention some things i’ve been proud of either writing or making this year. in no particular order:

1. my weary heart has come to rest in yours. this is a fic i wrote in an... interesting headspace, and i was really going through my chanonpom feelings at the time. i’m really proud of how it came out and i adored writing chanon through pom’s pov. also i kinda love how i tied in p’bird’s song prip dtah in with the fic because i adore the song and it fits so well with them.

2. petekao week 2020. i guess this is sort of cheating, because these are technically 7 fics, BUT. i am actually proud of myself for writing seven, and i think they’re all of fairly good quality. i just really love this little universe i created for the dbk characters after the show and this whole week was just so warm and lovely to be a part of.

3. this set of num and prang from a gift for whom you hate. this moment really stuck with me from the finale and i actually am really proud of the colouring and how it came out! i think the blues really popped and i managed to lighten this dark ass scene without whitewashing mek or aye. the fireworks gif also is one of my favourites i’ve made! num and prang’s whole relationship was so pure throughout the entirety of this show, i adored them.

4. but love is impossible and it goes on despite the impossible. this is the longest fic i’ve posted so far and i’m super proud of it - it’s also my most well-received fic. the yunmeng brothers mean the world to me and i just... wanted to write about jiang cheng and his love for his brother and give them a somewhat happy ending, in one future at least.

5. there’s an art to honesty. i think i really nailed my version of kao in this work! i just really loved writing this fic so much, especially because it was right after the whole ‘scandal’ with new happened. i was really just finding a way to separate kao from him, and i delved into my feelings with this fic as well, because i relate to kao in multiple ways. either way, i thought writing this fic was fun and a lot of people loved it too, which made me so soft!

if you’ve read this far, i personally adore you! while this has been a difficult year, i am blessed to have been part of this loving community, and i really hope that next year will be kinder to us all and give us good shows and discussions! i love you all. stay safe and stay kind, friends 💛

NCT funniness ranking !

My mind thinks in lists so I’m ranking these bad boys - I’ll only be discussing the hooligans that rlly get me a giggling, very hard though bc all of nct is funny tbh

Funniest in terms of groups 👨‍👨‍👦‍👦👨‍👨‍👦‍👦,,,,,

1) WAYV - I’m not super familiar with wayv but from all the stuff I’ve seen they are confirmed: a hot mess. 🤪🤟Crackhead energy at its finest 😗✌️ p.s. hendery is so weird ❤️❤️❤️

2) DREAMIES - They just have a dynamic that makes me giggle nonstop. Especially recently so maybe this corona air got them acting up. Their latest weekly idol is golden golden golden beep beep they get the golden buzzer !

individual funniness!!!! (these are my personal 🙆‍♀️ beliefs 😌 no hate 💔 all love 💘)

1.) LUCAS! HIMBO. Has a VERY big personality so anything he does is extra funny. I think he just has a funny aura because I wanna laugh before he even speaks. Not only is he funny but he’s goofy and weird so he isn’t afraid to say what’s on his mind. Uses this 🤪 emoji unironically, if that doesn’t say funny idk what does! Also he giggles when he talks so he’s just down right cute.

2) HYUCK! Firstly, this boy is perfect so of course he’s one of the funniest??? Aware of his own humor to the point where he said he’s jealous of the members bc they get to hear his jokes 🤡. Quick on his toes so he adjust to any situation and always has a snarky response. He has this back-and-forth witty humor that’s perfect for arguments. Annoying! But in a good way, in a cooool way 😎!

3) jaemin and renjun are tied i can’t decide

3a) JAEMIN! I think hyuck was correct when he said that jaem is from another planet. He’s so odd especially recently. The first 20secs of the ridin commentary vid.... what goes on sir? Not necessarily funny in the things he says but in the way he acts. What accent is that sir jaemin?

3b) RENJUN! He’s so creatively funny like everything he says just makes perfect sense. The one to most likely make non-members laugh (radio ppl, show hosts,,,everyone!). Everytime he speaks I’m like go! best! friend! that’s! my! best! friend! Proud of his jokes bc he says things no one else will. Him and hyuck bring out each other’s humor, they are in their truest form whilst bickering - a sight to see!

4) Jungwoo and Taeil (Very similar back-and-forth dynamic to hyuck and renjun)

4a) JUNGWOO! The jaemin of 127. I truly believe he acts as the glue for nct 127, he adds the weird physical humor and randomness that 127 didn’t really have. Pre-jungwoo, I personally think hyuck and Taeil held most of the groups humor on their backs, but once jungwoo joined everyone kind of revealed their ~odd~ side.

4b) TAEIL! Kinda like jungwoo but more subdued. Wiggly humor? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Weird before, but jungwoo really brought it out. Jungwoo and Taeil (Tom and Jerry) moment that really depicts their humor is at 4:05

5.) DOYOUNG! And YUTA!

They are ranked together bc they are both very snarky and sassy. They are simply funny people. They say very similar things but doyoung giggles when joking while yuta is very blunt and kinda serious, which is fun bc their jokes are taken diffferently. Yuta can hands down get all of 127 cackling. While Doyoung is more likely to be laughed at. Poor guy :(

6) JOHNNY! This king 🙄❤️ 2nd hand embarrassment when he tries to be funny. I still laugh though bc being cringey funny works for him. But when he ISN’T trying to be funny, he’s actually VERY funny. Especially when he’s talking nonsense like when we found out his dad invented coffee by crushing beans with rocks!!

Honorable mentions!! 😁 these guys aren’t necessarily funny but they ACT funny (there’s a difference trust me)

MARK! literally what a cutie pie like what’s he so cute for? He speaks in giggles! My fav thing is when he says something unfunny and goes “......oKAY!!!!” ALWAYS puts a smile on my face no matter the circumstance. I will 100% laugh even when he says very unfunny things bc guess what? He’s a cutie pie that’s why!!!

JISUNG! 🥺🥺🥺He’s so awkward and it’s so cute!!!! Very similar to mark in the way he acts after saying something unfunny. I feel like it’d be funny to just watch him exist? Imagine him dropping his phone and his reaction..... you’d giggle right!?

SUMMARY: you’re suffering and hurting less, so you go to harry’s concert to feel like one. / the aftermath to harry’s song: just a little bit of your heart. 2.4k

ISLA IS NOT A REAL PERSON. SHE IS FICTION. THIS IS ALL FICTION.

When Harry met Isla, he didn’t expect to fall in love with her. No, he didn’t expect it at all. Because at home he had the love of his life waiting for him: Y/N. And she truly was the love of his life, because she was everything he wanted, everything he needed. She was everything.

It confused Harry and slowly the days of seeing Isla in secrecy turned into weeks which turned into months. And still, Harry didn’t expect to fall in love with her. He didn’t want to.

So when he did, when he gathered and accepted the fact that he did - he knew he had fucked up. But somehow, no matter how many times he went home to you, kissed your lips, hugged you - he didn’t want to leave Isla. It terrified him.

When you told him it was okay, when you said that it was okay to love her, he had no words to explain what he felt. He felt overwhelmed with. . .what is that feeling? He felt sad yet happy; he felt loved yet alone. He felt overwhelmed. He didn’t much like the feeling as he cried into your shoulder. You figured you didn’t quite like the feeling either.

Harry never thought of how much it hurt you. He wasn’t selfish, you know that, but it had never crossed his mind. Because in all honesty, he believed that he wasn’t right for you - he thought you deserved better - and it only hit him how much you actually did love him when you told him that it was okay to leave.

Months flew by, of course with a lot of tears. You spent your last night with Harry that night; you cuddled with him on the bed; you told him you loved him; you wished him the best with the girl, even told him that you wanted to meet her. You didn’t. It was a strange heartbreak because it didn’t technically feel like one. It just felt more like a goodbye.

Harry moved out. He offered to live at his mum’s for a bit, saying he needed it anyways. You let him, though it hurt to see his face everywhere in the apartment. And still, days after seeing the pictures, you couldn’t get the girl’s face out of your mind either.

You didn’t see Harry for weeks. You had talked over a call, deciding what to do with the flat, and that was it. You didn’t FaceTime, nor meet up. You simply packed and left leaving nothing more than a note for Harry (to which Isla accidentally threw in the bin while she was there.) You missed him, of course you did, but it hurt more to see him and act like you was fine then ignore him until he was nothing but a thought in the back of your head.

You still supported him, still loved and cared. You’d like his instagram posts (when he rarely posted) and you’d text him and congratulate him about his new song or cover or advertisement. Whatever it was, you found yourself still there for him. You wished it wasn’t like that.

You knew it wasn’t like that with Harry. You knew him too well. Harry was currently enjoying life with his new girlfriend, probably calling her the prettiest and funniest and most brilliant girl in the world. You knew he wouldn’t be thinking of you, not in a horrible way, just in a Harry way. He was the most selfless person who could be so selfish sometimes. But you can’t blame him.

It came to a point when Harry was going on tour... and you knew you had to be there. Not for Harry, but for yourself. You’d hate yourself if you missed it.

Your best friend had sighed at you. “It’s been months Y/N. Months. You’re not going - you’ll fall in love with him again.”

You didn’t say anything to her. I haven’t fallen out of love with him. You sat in silence as your hand was frozen over the confirmation of the pit tickets you were about to buy. In the end, you brought two.

You dressed in an outfit you wore on your second to last date with Harry. You only noticed when you got out of the house. Memories flooded back as you sat in a taxi with your other friend, who agreed to join you. She paid for her ticket too.

Since Harry left, time had been moving ever so slowly; but suddenly as you get closer to being in the same room as him months later, time went by fast. You blink and suddenly you’re there.

You blink and Harry’s come out on stage, wearing platforms and a fancy suit as he always does. Your eyes flash with recognition at the man in front of you, as fans scream around you and your eyes glance over him.

He’s painted his nails. They’re black which slightly matches his suit. You’re 100 percent sure that it’s your nail polish, because you forgot to pack them when you left. Harry never brought nail polish for himself, and you had read somewhere that Isla didn’t like black nail polish. You had left your wide collection of colours at the flat and you were sure Isla was going to use them all. But no, here was Harry, wearing your nail polish on a stage in front of thousands of fans.

You shouldn’t be here.

You blink and you’re halfway through the concert. You’re lucky actually that no one quite recognised you. Not that you were popular, but many fans had seen your face - yet no one noticed. You could dance and sing freely, like a fan. You still shouldn’t be here.

Harry finishes a song and reaches for a water bottle. The arena erupts into cheers. You can’t help but smile. You feel happy to watch him, yet a hint of sadness. You don’t think the sadness will go away after.

“Right. I wrote this song, then gave it to my friend Ariana. I’m singing it for you now,” he speaks. You perk up and your friend cheers. You had known your friend to be quite a fan of Ariana Grande, so the slight mention of her makes your friend weak. Much like you with Harry.

The song starts. You don’t know it, but you’re surrounded by fans singing the lyrics for you. You just sway - it sounds sad.

Then he starts to sing. Harry, in his angelic voice, in (slight) harmony with the fans, starts to sing lyrics that sound all too familiar.

What the fuck?

You friend smiles at you and leans in. “This is my favourite song!” She has to shout to make sure you hear it, and you do. You hear it loud and clear.

You hear everything loud and clear.

Something must’ve pulled Harry to look in that direction, towards the corner, because he truly has no clue. The pit is always his favourite place to look - fans dressed in all sorts of clothes, holding all sorts of signs. It’s a nice reminder of the support Harry had and is always grateful for.

He needs it when he’s singing this song. Just a little bit of your heart hurts Harry to sing. He feels tears in his eyes. He’s constantly glancing down to the bottom of the stage, where his girlfriend Isla was, her smile wide enough to put him at ease.

Maybe he should’ve looked at her for a little longer because as the song neared to an end, his eyes start to wonder and he knows that green dress from somewhere. He knows the material and the pattern and he can feel it beneath his fingertips.

He looks up.

His eyes meet yours.

Holy shit, you think.

Fuck, he thinks.

At the end of the show Harry grabs a security guard to get you. It was an impulsive decision and as he sits and waits he realises it was a stupid one two.

There’s a knock at the door and a “Can I come in?” a voice that is so clear, so memorable in his mind.

You enter, not even waiting for an answer. Your face seems angry, eyebrows together, mouth turned downwards - though on the inside you’re quite nervous. You forget about your angry facade and bit your lip.

Harry realises you’re nervous, biting your lip had always been a habit. He stands up and invites you to sit down. You shake your head.

“Y/N, listen. . .I-”

“It’s a nice song,” you smile. You want nothing more than to see his smile. You stand in his changing room, his clothes and items and smell surround you. You just want him to smile. “I like it.”

“Y/N-”

“Surreal too. I think a lot of people like that song and I understand why.”

Harry doesn’t try to interrupt you.

“I think it reminds everyone of a happy time. Or a sad time. One in the middle. Well, that’s what it reminds me of.”

Finally, your eyes meet Harry’s. You missed them - the green, the happiness and wonder and excitement and love. Though, all you can see now is sadness. Harry sees it in you too.

“I like your dress,” he manages and you merely share a small smile. “Never meant to offend you with the song. Just wanted to make sure I never forget it. Never forget you and that and-“

Tears spill as he breaks down, collapsing onto the chair behind him. He rubs his hand over his eyes and sighs as if he’s pulling himself together. “God, Y/N I never meant to offend you.”

“You didn’t.”

“Did you pay for a ticket?”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“‘Cause how else am I meant to see you?”

“Could’ve asked, called me, told me you want a ticket. Would’ve gave you one. You’re my love, you know that.”

You wince at his words. “Don’t say that Harry. Please don’t say that.” You feel yourself come closer to breaking down and no matter how long you want to stay in Harry’s presence you know it’s time to leave. “I’m going to get going. Thanks for having me. Amazing show.”

Tiredly and sadly, he replies, “thanks.”

Harry lets you walk towards the door, already sinking into his chair to have a nap. He’s tired and upset and the last thing he does it want to open his mouth or eyes again. Sleep looks so good and Harry can’t wait. He’ll dream about you for the first time in months but who cares anymore?

“Oh! Shit, sorry!”

“It’s okay!”

Those two voices, both Harry knows so well, the ones that appear in his dreams and thoughts. Fuck.

“Isla!” Harry says hurriedly, opening his eyes and standing up. He stumbles towards the door and rubs his eyes once over, trying to make his vision less hazy. “Isla!”

“Harry,” she says, not as enthusiastically. You know it’s partly because you’re there.

Harry looks between the two of you. Isla’s bitter face glancing at Harry and you’re anxious face that’s tilted at the floor. Your hand reaches for your arm to comfort yourself. Harry knows you want to leave (he knows your movements too well) so he pulls Isla by the arm inside his changing room.

“Isla, this is Y/N. Y/N, this is Isla.”

“Hi,” you say with a smile. It’s a genuine smile too, not a fake one. You’re happy to meet her, you just didn’t want to at this exact moment. Not after the song, not after seeing Harry. Not after all of that.

“Hello.” You can tell she’s not that happy. “Nice to meet you.”

“You too. I’ve heard some good things about you.”

Lies. Total lies. You know it’s lies, Harry knows it’s lies, Isla knows it’s lies. The two of you haven’t texted for months - you haven’t heard shit about her.

“Oh, me too. A lot,” she says.

Silence falls for a couple of seconds before you say, “my friend’s waiting so I should really get going.”

Isla waves, “it was nice meeting you.”

“You too. Bye.”

You leave. You turn and you leave and you walk as fast as you possibly can. You get out of the building and before you can even reach where your friends standing, a hand pulls your shoulder back and turns you around.

“I miss you, okay? I fucking miss you and now I’ve fucked everything up and I don’t know what the fuck to do.”

Harry stands in front of you, inches taller. His hairs gone curly because of him sweating so much. He wears his suit trousers and a shirt; he’s in his socks. The pavement is wet so you realise now how urgently he must’ve needed to say this.

He’s crying.

“Harry...”

“I don’t know what you’re going to say but I don’t know what I’m going to do. I just. . .please talk to me Y/N. I- I’m sorry about the song and everything I’ve done just I need you to talk to me.”

“Harry, the song doesn’t bother me. Neither do you, neither does Isla. In fact she seems rather nice,” you say.

“She called you a bitch when you left.”

You crack a smile, “well everyone had their views.” Looking around, you suck in a breath. “H, I miss you too. Okay? That’s it. Now it’s fucking freezing so get back inside! And I’m only talking to you if you put some shoes on.”

You tried to make it seem as if nothing had happened between you. You used your same jokey voice and goofy smile and you hit him on the arm. His smile slowly appeared too.

Of course there was tension between the two of you. You hadn’t sorted it out yet so it was always going to be there until the two of you talked. But in that moment, in a cold London, on a cold pavement, with a cold past between the two of you - a bit of friendly jokes was all you needed to make each other warm. Suddenly it didn’t matter about the other girl inside, despite Harry loving her, because Harry finally got you. And there was no need for tears anymore, because now you knew Harry was there for you too.

So, Harry smiles at you and he shuffles back inside under the roof where the pavement was dry. He calls, “you okay getting home?”

“Yeah! Get back inside you nerd, go play table tennis or whatever. Tell Isla I said bye!”

He watches as you walk away, linking arms with your friend. He watches the two of you laugh before getting into a taxi.

He watches the love of his life walk away, yet he feels fine.

Small steps is all he needs at the moment. Small steps first, stupid love songs later.

I’ve been re-watching Community. (Not because it just got on Netflix, though. I coincidentally started shortly before.) And since my headsets ran out of batteries at probably the best possible moment (see photo), I have nothing better to do than to write down some of my thoughts from the first season.

It’s amazing how many talented people worked on this show. So many people that (sort of) started on this barely popular sitcom have since become genuine giants. Examples include: Showrunner Dan Harmon, who has gone on to co-create Rick and Morty. Executive producers and directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who have made a couple of movies that were, um, kind of popular (there was a purple chin-y guy... I forget the titles.) Director Justin Lin’s directed four $100+ million movies. Composer Ludwig Göransson’s worked on Marvel and Star Wars stuff and won an Oscar. John Oliver now hosts the best late-night talk show on TV. And Donald Glover’s won a few Grammys and Emmys and, of course, made a song that has 650 million views on YouTube.

It’s genuinely weird to me that this show is over a decade old. For some reason, I felt like it started in 2012 or something. Turns out I was a teenager when I watched it the first time. What?

Having said that, it’s definitely started to show its age a bit. It came out in that sort of transitionary period between the more “anything goes” Parker/Stone offense-comedy of the ‘00s and the more “woke”/PC-culture of the ‘10s, and it’s consciously navigating that borderland. The show seems very aware of the need (and value) of “being correct” but also makes frequent jokes about exactly that, in ways I think they might altogether avoid today, just in case. There’s also a lot of, like, creepy/predatory sexual behavior as jokes and a romantic sub-plot between a man in his thirties and an eighteen year old girl.

It’s surprisingly exactly the show I needed right now. It’s just really comforting to me, both because of the pandemic (bing(e)ing sitcoms sounds like an obviously good idea now) and also because of some personal stuff I’ve been dealing with. I may have to make some tough changes in the direction of my life this year, partly due to some less than optimal life-choices, and watching those community college screw-ups in somewhat comparable (or worse) situations is weirdly inspiring.

The writing is mostly solid, but there are some things that bug me. Watching so many episodes in a short time makes the constant self-reflection/analysis within the group pretty tiring. They can barely have a single conversation without it somehow revolving around defining themselves and/or their relationships. And some of the characters are pretty unlikable too. Jeff is such a douche in the first half of the season (or maybe he just grows on you). And Pierce is just too much in general. They could have really given him more moments where he learns or shows some truly positive qualities. It’s hard to believe that the other characters would allow him to be in the group. And I never minded Shirley before but now she kind of gets on my nerves. (No one talks like that!)

Ken Jeong is just so terrific. The first season’s��Señor Chang might be among the funniest characters in TV history. Donald Glover is also consistently solid with his deliveries and reactions.

Looking forward to the rest of the show. If I remember correctly, it just gets better and better throughout the first three seasons.

Ah, yes…THAT anime. I watched it. I finished it. It was a mind-fuck. I bailed on the review. And while I’m at it, I’m also not reviewing Psycho Pass 3, Violet Evergarden, or A Certain Scientific Accelerator. Onto Kaguya-sama!

Shuchiin Academy, once a school for students that are well-off financially. Nowadays, it’s still that, but even commoners can attend. And one such student is a boy by the name of Miyuki Shirogane, who in just his first year managed to obtain the top spot at the school with the position of Student Council President. By his side is his vice president, Kaguya Shinomiya. This girl comes from extreme wealth and excels in many fields including art and music. The students here revere these two as being the best of the best. And also…they make a great couple!

Pump the brakes here, pal. These two are NOT a couple. As a matter of fact, both characters end up playing 3D chess in their brains to try and take the other person down with mind games if even the slightest topic involving love is brought up. Both Kaguya and Miyuki already have feelings for the other, they just won’t admit it. The first person to admit love will be considered the loser in this war. And both of these characters are stubborn to the point of…oh my god!

THESE TWO ARE TSUNDERES! I’ve seen animes where only one person is the tsundere in the couple. But what happens when they’re BOTH tsunderes? Well…it took over 20 episodes for Taiga on Toradora. It took over 4 seasons for Louise on Familiar of Zero. But those two animes had only ONE tsundere. This anime has TWO. We might be here for a while!

Well, let’s watch who wins and who loses in the game (or war) of love!

BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: Aniplex of America has a good grip on this anime as they have managed to license the second season before it has aired. Much to my dismay, this anime has not received an English dub. Aniplex of America has released the blu-ray last month ($100+ shipping and handling), but only with Japanese audio/English subtitles. Okay.

Now IF they decide to come back in a few years and dub this series, I have a few thoughts. And don’t say it’ll never happen. FUNimation and Sentai are guilty as fuck of releasing a series with no dub and two years later dropping a dub release just so they can grab extra dough.

I HAVEN’T FORGOTTEN NICHIJOU YOU GRIFTING CRAP-WEASELS!

Anyways, if they decide to do this, I want R. Bruce Elliott to voice the narrator. I don’t give a shit about the rest of the cast, I just want that for the narrator! That’s just my take on that matter. I know this would NEVER happen unless Elliott ends up in L.A. for a few sessions (as he’s mostly stationed in Texas). It’s just that he’s the best person to play a narrator in just about anything. Don’t believe me? Watch Space Dandy and Sgt. Frog and get back to me!

Oh! And just my luck, FUNimation plans on giving this series an English dub. Though it’ll be a while before we see anything due to COVID-19 mess! No rush, take your time. Rest up. Consider R. Bruce Elliot as the narrator. And we’ll see you after we get off quarantine!

The sub version consists of a lot of newer, yet familiar voices. As for Kaguya’s seiyuu (Aoi Koga), this is my first time hearing her voice and so far I’m impressed. I’m also impressed with an anime to have several tsunderes and no sign of Rie Kugimiya, the QUEEN of tsundere anime characters. That shows great dedication, but if she ends up in season two, I’m gonna scream. Here’s what you might recognize these folks from.

*Yuu is played by Ryouta Suzuki (known for Ryouhei on Tsurune)

FAVORITE CHARACTER: Chika. Chika. Chika. Chika. Chika. And did I mention Chika?

SPEAKING OF CHIKA: I found an infectious little song in the form of an ending theme! For one episode, we got an ending theme song featuring Chika.

Seriously, this ED as well as the OP theme are just so infectious that I constantly go back to replay these two songs whenever I take a break from replaying Black Clover themes (no joke, I love Black Clover themes). The first ending is fine. It’s just that Chika’s special ED was so addicting that I had to mention it once, twice, or more!

SHIPPING: It’s pretty obvious to see that Kaguya and Miyuki are mad for each other. But there are several obstacles in their way. For one thing this is sort of their first love, so approaching this subject is very new. Secondly, both of them are dead-set on the fact that love is a war full of wins and losses. Both Kaguya and Miyuki play these mind-games when something mundane happens like a personality quiz or a weekend activity. They try to trap the other person into saying something embarrassing or admitting to something. Even though it’s so crystal clear that they both are romantically interested in each other!

However, I’m pretty sure Kaguya has lost more battles than Miyuki due to the infamous sick day episode. Sick Kaguya is pretty ballsy getting Miyuki to lay in bed with her.

FUNNIEST MOMENT: You can blame this on the fact that I’m absolutely immature and have the mind of an 8 year old. But there was a moment in mid-season where Chika learns of a specific quirk about Kaguya. Because Kaguya was suppressed when it came to matters of phrases and naughty words, she still finds the word “wiener” utterly hilarious. And so during this whole segment, you’ve got Chika continuously saying the word “wiener”. Then, she goes the extra mile to have other members of the student council like Miyuki and Yuu to say the word. And Kaguya is trying to prevent them from saying it until we just get a barrage of “wieners” and hysterical laughter. I gotta admit that it was one of the funniest moments in this series.

ENDING: A few episodes before the finale, a monumentous moment occurred. Kaguya got sick.

Just go with it!

Whenever Kaguya gets sick, her mind goes into a complete stupor. Her mind is almost that of an infant or small child and once she’s better, she will not remember a single thing that happened. And Miyuki was the poor sap to check on her during that sick day! I’ll cut to the chase and say what went down.

She opens her bed covers and drags Miyuki into bed with her. Now before your mind jumps in the trash, they remained fully clothed…although they both did fall asleep. So, they slept together. Just no intercourse! This kinda lead to a major fight involving a cake, an apology, and a cute moment where Kaguya touches his lip!

Hey, a girl who’s been sexually suppressed her whole life, this is like first base here.

I feel that was a bit of a breaking point to bring up on a count of a lot of the mind games stopped temporarily. Probably because the last two episodes of the season involved summer break! By the looks of it, Chika was having a blast eating so much and Yuu is doing his usual gaming stuff. All the while, Kaguya and Miyuki didn’t really do much during their break. But they promised to all meet up one day to see the fireworks. Unfortunately, that serves to be a daunting task for Kaguya as she’s been heavily sheltered her entire life. Her family (especially her father) never let her do things normal kids take for granted including going out with friends or even walking to school.

In fact, Kaguya’s plans of meeting up with Chika and others to go shopping were cancelled due to Kaguya’s father calling her to the main house…for literally nothing. Add to that, the family saw it in THEIR best interest to not allow Kaguya to leave the house to see the fireworks with her friends. But Kaguya decided to defy those orders! She gets her servant Hayasaka to disguise as her if any other servants come in and escaped her house. Yuu, Chika, and Miyuki were all in an agreement to save Kaguya…just not on the same wavelength. Kaguya on her own ended up missing the firework show. But once Miyuki found her, he took her and they went on a small adventure to another prefecture to see another firework show. But it could be cutting it close due to traffic and the show was reaching its end. Thankfully, they made it! Kaguya was finally able to see the fireworks with her friends.

It’s just that Kaguya didn’t pay attention to the firework show…she stared at Miyuki the whole time!

In the final segment of episode 12, Kaguya and Miyuki kinda realized how dorky they were the night of the firework show. Kaguya let her guard down so many times that night and spent the entire firework show staring at Miyuki. Meanwhile, Miyuki thought he sounded stupid when he took Kaguya to the show. We get one final mind-game between these two until it ended with Miyuki almost saying something and Kaguya chases him down while the end credits play on in the background.

Will either one of them say how they truly feel about the other? Who will win? Who will lose?

…Guess we’ll find out in a few days when season two airs!

This was an entertaining anime! It’s like if Death Note were a rom-com instead of a thriller. Both Kaguya and Miyuki have a similar mind-set to Light Yagami when it comes to the game of love. They both have the hots for each other and both refuse to admit it first. But thanks to key moments including Kaguya’s sickness and the firework saga, there’s been definite progress with these two letting their guards down. But they’ve got a long way to go! I mean, these two are major tsunderes meaning they’re going to suppress their wants and desires with the opposite sex with these ridiculous mind-games. So…we might be here for a while before any one of them admits their feelings. But I say give it a watch! It’s not that long of a series and it’s still fairly new so it’s still open for more sequels and side-projects before losing its luster.

Currently, this anime is available for streaming on Hulu, Crunchyroll, and FUNimation.

And stay tuned for the second season exclusively available on FUNima…You guys are really pissing me off with your exclusivity!

Don’t get me wrong, I love Fate/Zero and Unlimited Blade Works as much as the next dip-shit, but the franchise is a pile of cluster bombs and I can’t make heads or tails of any of this. Regardless, I finished that hot mess as well.

he cuddles people in his sleep which is why he wanted to room with Jeno because he’s comfortable with him but when Jeno exposed hyuck he got so so so so so shy owo

In general he’s such an amazingly talented and wonderful person. He deserves so much more love and I just wish he’d get the appreciation he deserves because even through all the hardships he manages to stay the fullsun we all know and love.

Hope this isn’t too late, but I really enjoyed reading your thoughts about Gared would it be okay to request Asher Forrester for the character ask?

It isn’t late at all anon!! I would gladly do this with every character I have ever loved XD And Asher Forrester is my 3rd/4th favourite character of all time!!! So it is absolutely okay!! :D

Why I like them

AsherForrester is a perfect example of the type of character I love. Witty,sarcastic and has a true heart of gold underneath all that blood :P I honestlyfell in love with him in the first scene we saw him in. He’s one of thefunniest characters in ttgot. He’s one of the little brothers, the one who wassent away, the one who was branded as angry before we even met him. But he canbe quite level-headed if you play him that way.

Ijust love how sarcastic he is! His banter with Beskha! Wanting to do right byMalcom. Still being loyal to his family even though he was sent away! He’sincredibly loyal for a 21-year-old who was exiled to Essos when he was 17. That’ssuch an important character trait, especially if you saved him, he says henever wanted to be lord, but there he is, trying to be the Lord Forrester everyoneneeds.

I lovehim so much, he’s such a good character!

Why I don’t

This is so hard!! Like with Gared, I have to be really nitpicky here XD

Okay, so this isn’t really Asher’s fault. But when picking what you wanthim to say, his options can seem really calm in text, but then he’ll just saysomething I completely didn’t mean him to say. It’s almost like even the playercan’t control him, which is… fair for his character :P

Favorite episode (scene if movie)

Again, this is a hard one! But I have to say ‘The Ice Dragon’. He makessuch a good lord for that brief time Ironrath was still with the Forresters. He’sgrieving his big brother, but my Asher knew that killing Ludd was the only wayto truly get back at the Whitehills. He let his own mother poison herself forthe good of the house. I mean… my Asher also gave Gwyn his word nothing wouldhappen but hey ho, maybe she shouldn’t have relied on that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway that episode really showed a lot of sides to Asher we didn’tpreviously get to see. And, despite his injuries, he survived the battle. He willalways be Lord Forrester to me in my post canon fics :)!

Okay,this is hard because nothing really stands out but one I get in my mind a lotis: “What in all the gods of fire and fuck?” He has a lot of funny linesbut I loved that one at the time!! :)!

Beskha and Asher! Pretty self-explanatory. I love how they call eachother brother and sister and I love how they have each other’s backs throughthick and thin. It’s one of the best examples of found family out there. And Ilove it!

Head Canon

So pretty much since I’m never gonna say it anywhere else, I think ifyou chose Asher in ep 5 and he survives everything and gets Ironrath back andHouse Forrester’s reputation is restored all before season 8’s timeline, Ibelieve he would have bent the knee to Daenerys as soon as he could. Especiallyif she gave you the gold.

Like he hears Daenerys is in the North and he’s like – “Wait, hold on, Igotta bend the knee! As soon as! Like right bloody now!”

I believe my Asher would have gone down that route because he owed a lot toDaenerys.

I also think if House Forrester was brought back in time, he would have foughtto retake the North from the Boltons. That would have been important to Asherand House Forrester as a whole since Ramsay fucked them over so royally. A lotof what happened with the war with the Whitehills was down to that son of abitch.

Anyhow….. Yeah, I think Asher would have bent the knee to Daenerys atthe first opportunity and as soon as he realised what she had done, he wouldhave freaked the fuck out. After all, he knows fine well what kind of damage Drogoncan do.

I also think he’d be very happy with Sansa being Queen of the North. TheForresters would surely be back in business after all that ;)

Unpopular opinion

Hmm. I don’t know if any of my opinions on Asher are unpopular??? Ithink the choice in episode 5 was pretty much 50/50, although I remember theforums were more in favour of Rodrik. I don’t know. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

january: what was the first fic you posted this year?

the first fic i posted this year TECHNICALLY was the epilogue of a different path. the first standalone was chewbacca (aka my introduction to the jily world once again and i have such a soft spot for it)

quite literally anything you’ve left on any of my fics BUT there are a few that i hold dear to my heart. i’ll post them under the cut cause they are LONG :’)

ancient: the first fic you ever posted online?

hahahaaaaaaa. it was my own version of rick riordan’s the son of neptune before the actual book was published. it was on ff.net, and the first chapter got 7 reviews, and i felt so good about myself after that lmfao. who knew i’d still be writing 8 years later?

OKAY so i have 3 top favorites:

okay so i had seen this in someone else’s bookmarks the other day, thought it was an interesting concept—especially since i too love slytherin!percy and strongly subscribe to ofswordsandpens’ headcanons about it—but didn’t give it another thought until i was listening to a video about the cursed child and went: wait, there’s a percabeth hogwarts au that i saw somewhere. and immediately i hunted this down and i’m just in awe? i tore through it. belatedly, i realized that i made a mistake: i didn’t write down my thoughts as i was reading, which is definitely a disservice to you. however, here are a generalized list of things that i loved.

first of all, with hogwarts au’s, there are three main aspects that i look for: plot, characterization, and quality of writing. normally, fics of this size lack one or more of these key factors, but i was astonished to find that the plot is tremendously tight and intriguing (my lip bled from biting it so much because i’ve been stressed to the max), you write these characters with such distinct voices i can easily picture them saying everything—except, of course, now in a little british accent—and your writing flows so well, it feels almost like i’m reading an actual harry potter book, just with percy and co. you also do a masterful job of weaving together aspects of the pjo universe with the established canon of hp.

and there are so many specific things that i love. primarily, the way you write the relationships in this story; not just concerning percabeth (though i will get to that in a minute), but also with each of the interactions between all of the characters. i applaud you for how you handled luke/annabeth and rachel/percy, and the friendship among them all is just incredibly well done. i especially love how well you wrote connor and zoë and just, a lot of characters that i don’t often think about when i think of pjo. grover and percy’s friendship especially is heartbreaking, i just. he’s so protective because he loves his friends and holy fuck i also love how you wrote grover in this. but i just adored how you wrote annabeth/percy—the love between them, both platonic in its early stages and the romantic all throughout, was doubly apparent. i ached when they kissed each other’s cheeks, and i inwardly cheered when she kissed him in the locker room. there was just such a natural progression, to me, of their relationship. and man did i dig it. i’m excited (and maybe a little scared) to see where you take their relationship in the future.

boy, this is getting long. sorry. but some more just little quick things: loved the b99 reference, with both of their competitive natures playing out in a similar way to jake and amy’s. i kind of want to go back and see if i can find any other references that i missed because i was just too engaged in the story to catch them. also, zoë’s death killed me all over again, thanks for that. i like how you’re working the kronos plot in, and i can’t wait to see how the Final Battle plays out. what else? oh! professor hestia? beautiful. eventual maybe professor percy? outstanding. percy kissing the top of annabeth’s head? breathtaking. rachel being a quidditch commentator? earth shattering. (truly i cackled when i saw that.) mrs. o’leary being a cat? incredible. how you incorporated percy’s water powers? stunning.

ooh, this exchange was beautiful and had me cackling it was so in-character:

“None of us are dying.” Connor clarifies. “Not you, not me, not Annie, not the rest of us.”

“I might have to dispute that.” Annabeth says, from Percy’s other side. “Call me ‘Annie’ one more time, Stoll, and I’ll kill you myself.”

Connor only grins at her. “Sorry, love. No more ‘Annie’. Can I call you Beth?”

“No.”

“Anna?”

“No.”

okay, so i just finished chapter nine and i am blown away. sorry for how long this comment was, but a fic of this magnitude truly warrants it. i can’t wait to see what happens next.

i leave you with just two words: “holy shit.”

god, oh my god, am i the only dumb bitch who didn’t get what the prophecy was??

anyway, i stumbled on this fic last year, patiently waiting for its completion, and now that i’ve rediscovered it, i’m so glad i finished it all in one go! i couldn’t imagine the tension of waiting for the next chapter, especially since the tension is so well-crafted!! i hardly noticed the tonal shift even as the story got darker and darker as it led up to the war, and in that way i was reminded of how extremely similar it felt to reading the hp books for the first time! you nailed percy very well i might say, and the awkward-yet-caring relationship he has with his dad. i daresay you gave connor and zoe more characterization than rick riordan himself, and the percabeth you wrote is perfect to the nth degree. i appreciate that you didnt bother with all the love triangle and unrequited feelings nonsense as well.

but i have to say, even as i cried at sally and paul’s wedding, or at dionysus’ quiet mourning for castor, what really struck with me most was the way you handled silena. for that, i have no words. that was a job extremely well done. thank you so much for blessing us with this fic.

A girl in a bright yellow hooded raincoat stumbles into the cafe on one of the slowest nights James has ever seen. Her coat is dripping all over the floor he’d just cleaned (but it’s fine) and when he leans over the counter he sees that her boots match the coat.

First of all!!! Thats the best opening line in the world and nobody can convince me otherwise. I want to become a publisher just so that if you ever write a book, I’d be able to publish it. ( like omg, what an honor??? )

She looks like sunshine, standing there with the amount of yellow in her wardrobe. Briefly, James wonders if that’s her favorite color. It’s got to be.

Im going to quote this whole fic but I really love these lines? Like, you have this distinct style of writiting that I aim to acheive and you’re literally such a rolemodel!!! These are my favorite kind of fics to read. Funny story but I was going through a ‘no thanks Jily’ mood ( a horror, i know !! ) but your fics are just,,,,exceptions? You could write about trash and I’d love it and ask for you to sign me up.

and the funniest person award goes to YOU. also, the most talented and cutest but thats neither here nor there.

james taking care of fleamont, switching off the lights gives me just a nice and realistic vibe? its so simple but i love how you added it.

honestly at this point, ive been sucked again by the fanfic. it feels less like a fic and more like a masterpiece that belongs in a museum but anyway.

ugh i love ur mind. im rereading and its so nice and lovely. even if its like 1am and im exhausted, this fic is sustaining me.

PEAK HUMOR

have i mentioned how much i love that scene with euphemia? she seems like such a lovely mom. i love ur euphemia the most. and ahh, both of them just rushing to the hospital ? another 100% good scene.

“Euphemia smiles too, but looks at Fleamont rather than at her son. “Yes,” she says. “It really does.””

the fic!! has made a circle!!! i love how it begins and ends along the same lines. I really want to know how??? are you so talented im in love.

i just really love this fic, okay? i love how james is just the kindest, lily is allowed to have feelings, its just so soft and warm. and it makes someone feel loved, want love anyway.

the dynamic between the characters are just so real and great and im astounded, in short.

your sirius is everything. so many fics potray him as a dick??? which is first of all #rude and also, not at all true. you made me love these characters even more so i sincerely hope you never stop writing.

you’re such a beautiful writer and the way you string words together is just poetic and gorgeous and all the other good adjectives you can think of. i read your spiderman x reader too and i was a goner for you. EVERYTHING YOU WRITE IS SO GOOD. i read it so long ago but i can vividly remember peter whipping the mask off and she just going wtf stop on the window ledge. what im trying to say is that you leave this lasting impression on people that make them remember random scenes and words / prose long after they’ve read it which is a remarkable feat, i believe.

and im so sorry im not on tumblr rn bc i cannot keep recing this fic but i have told my friends about your writing and they loved it too. you’ve got like a million fans. when i do get back from my hiatus, im going to keep recing your fics and people will cry because their universe will shift thanks to the newfound joy of your presence in their life.

lastly, im more of a dog person and that, more than anything, should tell you how much i love this fic. i love u. and basee on your writing, i want to hug you, be your best friend and make you cookies bc again
