WRITINGS #001

Hello. If you are reading this, then you are going to learn of what happened to us.

I am C̶h̶r̶i̶s̶t̶o̶p̶h̶e̶r̶ E̶v̶a̶n̶s̶o̶n̶ Rabbit 012. I have tried to uncover and learn what happened to these studios.. however, it didn't go as I planned. It didn't go how any of us planned. Many others had been lost during these months of being trapped within these studios.. it's been almost an entire year, too. Writing this, I hope this story won't be lost to this place.. if I ever get out of here, if any of us gets out of here.. I may try and publish all of this if possible. Even if everyone believes it's nothing more than fiction.

It was quiet that day, I had finished my morning routine, heading off to what I was planning on doing. I was headed for the old studios. The forests surrounding the run down building was flooded with ink. I had to make sure to not step into those puddles. I didn't want to know what that black crap was from either.

Shoving the door open was a difficulty within itself as it seemed like the damn thing was boarded shut. Just so no one would be able to get in. Which was rather reasonable, considering this place was so run down, the history of the building in the newspaper explains a bit more as well. Such as when Joey Drew had filed for bankruptcy a few decades after. There had also been local rumors of something strange being built there considering the constant Gent workers spotted heading up to and leaving the old studios.

And so, I entered this place. Much like many others, I hadn't a single clue what I had subjected myself to..

We learned of who the HABIT was. We all were given numbers. Few were defiant of the numbers and were upset about them.. There were living breathing toon characters.. There were even people from other points in time.. including alternate universes.

If we were to ever leave this place in the future, we were to partake in trials. Of which happened to be death games. Rules were listed, and consequences would be up to the moderators.

The first things we were told to do since they had given us all devices when we got into this place was to advertise it online... I don't understand why that was a good idea, as that would have just brought more people into this dangerous situation. I had to do it anyways, since we'd rather not find out the consequences of doing so. Another reason for these trials was to help a family that'd been trapped in this hellhole escape. We were supposed to partake in these while trying to find a way to leave.

I had chosen to work on writing to try and spread the truth of what happened to us. I did originally want to do this as a story to explain what happened to Joey Drew Studios, but looks like that plan has now been turned.

This is apparently the 3rd entry in the House series, But its called The Horror Show, it borrows from several films like Nightmare on elm street, Shocker, Destroyer, While its super fun to watch Lance Henricksons character slowly lose it, its actor Brion James who steals the show with his wild whacky ass killer performance, that annoying ass laugh he does will forever be trapped in my brain. Rating: ★★★

I do sort of wish western anime fans would analyze anime and manga from a framework of japanese historical and cultural context. Specifically a lot of works from the 90s being influenced by the general aimlessness and ennui that a lot of people were experiencing due to the burst in the bubble economy and the national trauma caused by the sarin terrorist attack. I think in interacting with media that’s not local to our sociocultural/sociopolitical sphere it’s easy to forget that it’s influenced and shaped by the same kinds of factors that influence media within our own cultural dome and there ends up being this baseline misalignment of perception between the causative elements of a narrative and viewer interpretation of those elements. It’s a form of death of the author that i think, in some measure, hinders our ability to fully understand/come to terms with creator intent and the full scope of a work’s merits

Oh my god. The tears in Luke’s eyes when Percy says the betrayal line. The desperate pleading for them to run away. That he doesn’t want to hurt Percy. The tears in Percy’s eyes. The fear and shaking. Percy apologizing for actually hurting him. The look of horror on Luke’s face as Annabeth comes in. How horrified he looks when he looks down at Percy, who he HURT. The realization that Percy won’t join, and the equaled horror of hurting a twelve year old child.
