I've been reading what you wrote over and over and I'm just so glad to hear these from you! Indeed, those are the vibes I'm aiming for these two. Like other people around them, they couldn't really make out of what their relationship status is based on the binary "platonic" and "romantic" relationship. But you just know that they love and appreciate each other and always stick together and that's for sure 😌

I say they're "queerplatonic" because that's the most accurate "label" we can match to their relationship but if you actually asked them what they are, hehe you know what they'll say XD (omg I just love things that exist outside of the established standards made by Society TM)

I should tell y'all the story of how I slowly developed these two's relationship cuz it is also something that's connected to me personally haha ;D

Martin-Baker is a company that for more than 70 years has specialized in engineering the ejection seats utilized a majority of the world’s fighter jets. They have saved thousands of lives that in otherwise would likely have been lost. Martin-Baker revolutionized an industry that for a long time had been characterized by low survival rates, and in doing so have created an exclusive club very few are able to join, one that unifies aviators in a way that will never be taken away. I’d say only the best of the best are allowed in, but that wouldn’t be true.

A lifetime membership to the Martin-Baker Ejection Tie Club is awarded to those who have ejected from an aircraft using a Martin-Baker ejection seat, which as a result has saved their life.

For me and my pilot, 19 December 1981 was the date of a memorable excursion in a Martin-Baker ejection seat following a split-second decision to eject. I was an F-14 RIO and we were landing on an aircraft carrier in the Indian Ocean when things went wrong. I was fairly new, but I realized we were in trouble, and when my pilot said “Eject! Eject!” I pulled the lower handle. It happened in the blink of an eye, and only later could I be philosophical about it, to think about leaving the familiar and comfortable cockpit for the unknown. Thanks to the Martin-Baker MK-GRU7A seat my pilot and I survived in excellent condition and have enjoyed 38 (and counting) more years of living, flying, families, and everything else. I am thankful for the skilled US Navy technicians who maintained our equipment and the people of Martin-Baker who provided the seat that saved my life.

Martin-Baker – Thank you for the rest of my life. On 20 March 1987 my F-14A ran away with me as an unwilling passenger. Fire in the environmental control system burned through the flight controls. The airplane started un-commanded pitch oscillations and the last nose down excursion made it clear that I had to eject. My ride in F-14 BuNo 161614 ended 15 seconds before the crash with a Martin-Baker ejection seat and a parachute descent. My wife Sweet Denyse thanks you too.

“It was a spring day in 1995 about 200 miles SW of Sicily. The USS Theodore Roosevelt was heading up to the Adriatic to enter the Bosnia conflict. As we expected combat, we needed to make sure as many jets as possible were up and ready so the past few days had been a maintenance blitz. We were conducting a post-maintenance check flight on our F-14 Tomcat, which the jet passed with flying colors.

After the flight we were heading back to the carrier, when suddenly the jet began bucking like a bronco – negative 2 Gs followed by 5 Gs, back and forth for about 1 minute, then it suddenly stopped. We couldn’t figure out what was wrong, but another aircraft joined up and noticed a mismatch in our horizontal stabilators. After two more events similar to the first, each time with the jet losing about 5000 feet, the jet suddenly pitched over into a negative 2 G dive and started rolling uncontrollably. I looked at the altimeter and it read 3000 feet so I pulled the handle. After the loud flash and bang, I found myself under the parachute, and looked down just in time to see the jet hit the water – what turned out to be just 4 seconds after we ejected. We were both safely under parachute, with only minor injuries but alive. We were plucked out of the water by helos from the carrier about 45 minutes later. –

Thanks to Martin-Baker and my Parachute Rigger, I am still alive, and by being able to “live to tell” about our story a major mechanical problem was found. All F-14 Tomcats were subsequently inspected and the same problem was found on dozens of other jets, so Martin-Baker not only saved my life but likely prevented many other aviators from (at best) joining the Tie Club themselves or at worst losing their lives. It was just a month later that a high school friend who heard I was deployed wrote me a letter…We’ve now been married 17 years with two wonderful children. Thank you Martin-Baker!!!

Also cause i was curious and wanted to do something to keep my brain occupied, heres a general line of how the postal 1 maps should connect, i used postal redux spawn locations and level leave locations cause i figured those make more sense, notably in redux the carnival is between city and central park, in which its basically just a loop around before heading back to the park

Birthday Presents

‘I’m going to miss you…’ Ona mumbles, pulling you closer to her under the blankets.

‘I know and I’m going to miss you more my love.’

Ona tucks her face into your neck and shakes her head.

‘No you’re not. I’m going to miss you the most. I’m going to miss your cuddles and your smile and your laugh and your kisses. I’m going to miss holding you mi amor.’

You kiss the top of her head gently.

‘I think I’ve got something to help with that.’

Ignoring Ona’s protests, you get out of bed and move over to the closet where you pull out a wrapped package.

Lying back down next to her, you put it in her hands.

‘This was meant to be your birthday present but since you’ll be at camp, I might as well give it to you now.’

Ona excitedly starts to unwrap it but then pauses.

‘Does this mean I’m not going to get amazing sex as a present?’

You laugh and Ona grins cheekily.

‘You’ll get it after camp I promise.’

‘Good.’

Ona gives you a little kiss before going back to unwrapping her gift.

She gasps when she sees it, immediately hugging it tightly to her chest.

Anxiously you ask, ‘You like it then?’

‘Te amo! I love it! Thank you!’

Chuckling, you take out your phone to snap a photo of Ona holding her birthday present, a stuffed toy of her favourite animal.

She buries her face in the cheetah’s soft fur, a wide smile on her freckled face.

Mapi laughs quietly as she comes out of the shower to see Ona cuddling with her toy cheetah on the bed. She’s petting and softly talking to it.

‘You know that’s not your girlfriend right?’

‘Sí but mi novia gave Spots to me.’ Ona kisses the top of her cheetah’s head and Mapi rolls her eyes.

Ona had been practically inseparable from the stuffed toy since camp began.

Mapi giggles as she watches Ona doze off, clutching Spots to her chest. The plane ride was a long one and the younger girl had been exhausted after the game.

Nudging Leila, she points Ona out to her and her fellow Barcelona player can’t help but laugh.

She gets up, taking a quick photo and uploading it onto her Instagram story, tagging you and Ona in it.

In England, you open it only to smile at the sight. You were beyond glad that Ona loved her gift that much.

‘Hi love.’ You greet the moment the FaceTime call connects.

‘Hola mi amor!’

She’s especially cheery and you tell her so, making her giggle and answer, ‘Well of course I am. I’m seeing you in two days.’

You smile at her, saying, ‘I’m missing you Ona.’

‘I miss you too. I can’t wait to see you but you were right, Spots helps me when I’m missing you. In fact, cuddling with her is almost the same as cuddling you. Between the two of you, I think she gives me better cuddles.’

The teasing grin on her face lets you know she’s joking but you pretend to be offended.

‘I should have known better than to give you a replacement for me.’ You pout and Ona mischievously adds, ‘Sí mi amor you should have known.’

She holds Spots up in front of the camera, giving her a series of small kisses.

‘Pity she doesn’t give you kisses back.’ You say with a raised eyebrow.

Ona nods in agreement, ‘It is a pity.’

The both of you stare at each other a moment longer before bursting into laughter together. It’s a joyful, bright sound that fills both of your respective hotel rooms and has you thinking that your girlfriend was the only person who could make you laugh like that, the only person who could make you this happy.

By the end of camp, everyone on Spain’s team could recognise Spots. The stuffed toy cheetah had made appearances on the plane, on the bus and even at Ona’s birthday dinner.

Now Spots was making an appearance at the team movie night, Ona cradling her close as she watched the film.

When she’d walked into Jenni’s room, the team’s designated hangout, she had proudly lifted her cheetah up, announcing that Spots was going to watch the movie too. It had drawn several chuckles from the older members of the team, Mapi especially who was absolutely loving this new softer side of Ona, who often took herself too seriously at camps.

As the movie finishes, she absent-mindedly plays with Spots’ fur.

She’s surprised when Claudia comes up to her, shyly asking if she can give Spots a pet.

‘Yeah of course!’ Ona excitedly holds her cheetah out and Claudia pets her gently.

‘She’s so cute.’ The younger girl murmurs and Ona nods vigorously.

Claudia gives one last longing look at Spots before she leaves and Ona giggles as most of her other teammates give Spots a kiss or pat as they return to their respective rooms.

Ona should have known then that Spots meant something not just to her but to the rest of the team.

A day later, at the airport, everyone gives her and Spots a hug and kiss prior to splitting up for their various flights.

Mapi stays behind though, to give her newest roommate an extra tight hug.

‘Take care of Spots. She’s our team mascot now.’ Mapi warns half-seriously, winking before she runs after the rest of the Barca girls.

Ona’s left behind, the only one on a flight to Manchester but she is perfectly happy, squeezing her cheetah gently and walking towards the gate, making her way home to you.

Spanish Translations:
