3. what fandoms do you write for?

Currently only Dragon Age and Southern Vampire Mysteries/True Blood. But in the past I've written for Fallout 4, Mass Effect Trilogy, Dr. Who, Borderlands, and The Wayhaven Chronicles.

4. what are your top five fics by kudos?

What a Wicked Game to Play - the Behemoth, the Epic, the...story that ate my life for nearly two years straight. It currently sits at a cool 400K words and will be the focus of my NaNo goal this year. I'd like to have it finished. Solas/OFC, rated E.

Twist - the fic that got me really going in DA. An MGIT re-envisioning of the base game and all the what happens next? 197K words, complete. Solas/OFC, rated E. Fun fact, I started writing this fic before I'd ever played the game. 2020 was...uh...quite a year.

Junkyard Dogs - my very first fic. I started writing this before I really even knew what fic was. Before I even had heard of AO3. My sibspring got me an invite and the rest is history. I'm still incredibly proud of this fic, although I don't write quite like this anymore. 107K words, complete. Hancock/F!SoSu, rated E. (Are you noticing a trend? Yes, I write a lot of smut.)

Twist Some More - you guessed it, the sequel to Twist. My love letter to Carly and Solas and the happily ever after the game didn't give us. Baby included. 67K words, complete. Solas/OFC, rated E.

Humans Are Just...Like That - okay, so there's a story that goes with this one. This is a oneshot for Mass Effect, and it was brought to life via a long, hilarious thread in an ME discord server. I made a comment to the effect of 'someone should turn this into a fic' and everyone told me to go for it. So I did. It's a little bit crack, a little bit everybody lives and a whole lot of yup, humans are just like that. ~3K words. Background FemShep/Garrus, rated T.

6. what’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

No More My Heart Beats Without You, one of only 4 of my works with the Major Character Death warning. Solas/F!Trevelyan, 5555 words (I didn't plan that, but it's cool), rated E.

7. what’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

TSM, without a doubt. The whole point of it was to write a fluffy, gloriously happy tribute to my first DA OC, Carly Lavellan. It'll make your teeth ache, I promise.

8. do you get hate on fics?

I've gotten some on WG, which is why I now moderate comments on it. It's gotten statistically big enough (in terms of both hits and word length) that some people are just not gonna groove with it. And hey, that's fine. But you don't need to tell me about it, okay? Just hit the back button.

9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?

Yes. And...yes. I've written all kinds. My only rule for smut is consenting adults.

10. do you write crossovers? what’s the craziest one you’ve written?

Nope!

11. have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge.

12. have you ever had a fic translated?

I got asked about a fic being translated, but I don't know if it ever happened.

13. have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have written two fics with my beloved @ir0n-angel. One for FO4 (a Deacon/F!SoSu oneshot) and one for DA (Solavellan modern AU, incomplete, been on hiatus for a couple years. Someday we'll finish it.)

And I've participated in three years' worth of round robin style collaboration with the DAFF server.

14. what’s your all-time favorite ship?

*snort Poly here. Don't ask me to pick a favorite, it doesn't work like that. 🤣🤣🤣

15. what’s a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Just Like Fire. It started out as a prompt fic to get me out of a slump. Actual Solavellan, canon compliant even. So you see where my problem is, right? I mean, I am the one whose blog title is Canon Shall Be YEETED. I've thought about maybe just tying up the loose ends and skipping ahead to the ending I've already written for it, but then I lose interest again after about five minutes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

16. what are your writing strengths?

Good dialogue, lots of banter. I am routinely told by readers how well I keep characterization believable.

Good smut, realistic without being clinical.

Headcannon glitter. Being detailed oriented means I overthink and come up with some really deep ideas.

17. what are your writing weaknesses?

FINISHING THE DAMN THING. *ahem* I'm okay, I'm good.

Endings are rough for me. Not in that I don't know what I want to do with them, but more by the time I get to them, I've either lost interest or lost motivation. Or both. I know it looks like I'm on top of it when you look at my archive (only three incomplete WIP's out of 107), but some of them caused me Stress(tm) to finish and I've never been really happy with them.

18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I do it sparingly so it doesn't bog down the story. I translate it at the end, be that by chapter or oneshot. I know better than to fully trust google translate. And I'm careful with using fanon resources if the language is made up.

19. first fandom you wrote for?

Fallout 4, with the above mentioned JD. I stayed there for quite a while too. To date it's still my second most written fandom.

20. favorite fic you’ve ever written?

Again, poly. But I have some notables that I've returned to time and again. An incomplete sampling:

Maker Damned Fools - this is actually the first thing I wrote for DA. Varric/F!Hawke. 32K words, rated E. Initially it was a Fluffuary fic, but I always planned to expand on it. This year I did. Highlights for me reading it: chapters 4, 7 and 9.

Soft In Skyhold - another Fluffuary entry. Written as part of WG's overarching 'verse. So, Imogen and Solas, Adoribull, Varric and Elly Hawke, Terisin Mahariel and Morrigan. Cassandra and the Sky-Watcher. ~29K words, rated T. Highlights for me: chapters 5, 11, 13, 22, and 25.

She's My Plus One - my Dr. Who fic. Nine/Rose. Written x +1 style. 12K words, rated M. Highlights for me: chapters 4-6.

Unrepentant - a Solavellan oneshot. It's smutty, it's a little bit kinky, it's all in her head, right? Cuz it's the Fade. Look, sometimes you just need a particular flavor of dark!Solas. Not too dark, just like 62% cacao. 3100 words, obviously rated E.

Unexpected - an FO4 fic with a Kellogg/F!SoSu pairing. Yup, you read that right. Don't judge me. This was an early attempt at writing canon divergence and I'm still super pleased with how it came out. It even has a happy ending. 30K words, rated E. Highlights for me: honestly, all of it. I'll read the whole thing in a sitting when the mood strikes me.

STORY

Adrestia really is a lot larger than everyone else.

Oh, boy, Lonato is turning coat. I wonder what Ashe will do.

Glad they tried diplomacy first. Poor Ashe though.

Ashe staying here 😭 Poor baby boi.

So I'm guessing we'll attack the vanguard and take them out before the main army can breach the territory?

Dimitri be like, I'm going. Everyone else be like, no it's too dangerous. Then proceed to give a thin excuse for the King to be there. I love it when that's actually addressed though.

Can I just say that I love Dimitri's little ponytail.

Oh, Shez, thank you. Telling Dimitri this isn't his fault. And that he's a king, sure, but they're friends first. 😭😭😭😭 Shez always saying the right things to Dimitri.

Not going to lie, I love Shez and Dimitri's relationship so far. A genki friend like Shez is just perfect balance for Dimitri. It almost feels like they wrote Shez's personality around who would play off well with Dimitri, lamo (or, you know, standard shonen hero but who's counting).

To be fair, I like Shez and Claude so far too, since Shez doesn't put up with his shit and Claude's away tweaking and lying by little bits to Shez. They're good too. And I don't know if I just don't like Edelgard, or they just don't mesh, or I just don't care.

CAMP/SIDE BATTLES

SETETH IS PLAYABLE. YES. FLAYN TOO 😭😭😭😭

Oh, joy, seems like fog of war is back for the next chapter. My favorite. /s

Props to Ashe. He doesn't believe its right for Lonato to use citizens for his personal vendetta against the church. I agree, but even if I didn't, I really like this growth as far as fighting for what he believes in and not alliances.

So if Ingrid mentioned Miklain, does that mean he'll show up?

Who is Hapi worried about running into?

I personally love the decision to recruit Petra so early. It feels so right.

Dimitri trains with the common soldiers daily 😭😭😭😭

MORE DUSCUR GENERALS!!! Man, I'm elated they included these details in AG. This is the #1 (or #2) thing I wanted AM to do more (the other is his friends playing a bigger role).

Mercie's and Annette's designs are so pretty. And Mercie wondered if it's bad or good that the Southern Church is under direct government control. It's bad. Very. Very. Bad. for the government to directly control religion.

OH GOD SETETH. HE's just . . . I just love him and Flayn, ok?

Dedue looking out for Ashe 😭😭😭😭😭😭 He's . . . so tall.

Ohhhh, so the commander Dimitri put down in that rebellion when he was 15 was involved in Duscur?? That . . . adds so much to Dimitri's reaction. And Felix, that weird feeling in your stomach? That's just butterflies, dude. One day, you'll either admit it or be miserable forever when you leave him.

I got to make Dimitri laugh 😭😭😭😭😭😭 I will always, always pick the "crack a joke" option around Dimitri. Honestly, Shez x Dimitri seems so bloody cute so far. But I ship everyone with Dimitri so . . .

Dimitri killed 500 units in that side-battle before there was even time for the side-quest. He and Lorenz are my two best so far.

Everyone is dunking on Lonato for ruining the Empire's plans. I love how Count Rowe looks like an NPC though. Which is funny because Gwendal doesn't.

Dedue wants to go on an expedition. I HAVE to say yes. Like, it's a moral imperative. And . . . he has to mention Dimitri lol. Ouch, one of Dedue's questions is to . . . ask about his family. 😭😭 Dedue's worried he doesn't know Dimitri's favorite food. We all know why 😭😭😭😭 He likes Rodrigue. 😭😭😭😭

Ok, I was right. There is a "male's only" challenge.

OMG 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 Flayn's and Seteth's dining dialogue. Flayn says she'll "treat" everyone to one of her meals and invites Seteth who looks like he's being held hostage when he says he "always look forward to your . . . culinary masterpieces."

Did Itha behead someone planning to assassinate Dimitri? That's badass.

Taking Dimitri on expedition and he's like "I'm sure Dedue would be okay with this because you're coming too." lol

Oh, I can ask him about his memories from his past. HAVE to go with that. OF COURSE THE ANSWER IS ABOUT DEDUE 😭😭😭😭

I asked what he thought of Shez, and he said he doesn't care about the power Shez has, he's trusting her. Which, is very in line with how he saw Byleth too. He really doesn't give a shit about their uber special magics.

Scored a perfect conversation, woop! I did with Dedue too earlier.

SHEZ & MERCEDES C SUPPORT

Mercedes in high demand. As expected.

I love how Mercedes is both the sweetest person in this game, but also secretly the most savage.

Poor Mercedes is surrounded by people who hide their wounds (Shez, Sylvain, and Dimitri get special mentions).

That was cute and wholesome, but a bit basic.

SHEZ & FELIX C SUPPORT

Ready for this one, I expect a tad more conflict than with Mercedes because, well, it's Felix.

LAMO OMG 😂🤣👌 Like some of the first words out of Shez's mouth "I can tell you actually care about Dimitri and the others."

I love, love, love so much how Felix is treated in this game so far. Between Rodrigue being an embarrassing father to Shez calling Felix's nonsense on the spot.

Felix's shocked noise. I love this. People NOT letting Felix be an edgelord is what I live for.

"It's your fault for saying something so ridiculous." Felix has such tsundere energy.

Shez tells Felix she can tell because how he fights differently around the others rather than solo. Mannnn this is just really hammering home how awful recruited Felix is for his psyche. He's really all about his friends and family.

And Felix talks extensively about Dimitri and how worried he is about Dimitri's safety when he fights and covers for him. 😭😭😭😭

And Felix charges forward to kill archers to protect Ingrid 😭😭😭😭

Sylvain and Felix gets surrounded because he's always showing off. I love this.

Man, I love this. Like, you don't even know. I love how much these BL supports end up including other members.

Oh, I can be jealous of Felix's relationship with the others. I'm picking that.

"Anyway, we're done here. Talking to you is exhausting." And Felix just leaves. 😂🤣😂🤣 He DID NOT like getting called out like that.

DIMITRI & MERCEDES C SUPPORT

I got it! Thanks to everyone who warned me that this one closes quickly.

Also, I already have Dimitri & Dedue B unlocked, but it's locked right now.

Mercedes helping refugees in her free time because of course.

Dimitri being from the poorest nation, taking in all the refugees and sending supplies to them. 😭😭

Mercedes is happy that Dimitri is helping the church members, saying without him they'd end up homeless because of Edelgard.

Poor Mercie fleeing the Empire 😭😭 no wonder she's so loyal to the church.

Dimitri asking permission to speak plainly, and Mercie calling him silly for thinking he needed to ask permission 😭😭 She's so sweet, and I love how casual they are together.

Oh, I love where this is going. More about Dimitri wondering if giving the Empire an excuse to invade by protecting the church was the right thing to do.

Dimitri partly did it to try and keep chaos from happening and avoid civil war.

I'm just glad someone helped those poor people.

Liked how much this support covered in such a short time.

SHEZ & INGRID C SUPPORT

Ingrid really knows her Faerghus history.

Made it cannon that Faerghus values crests because they allow the user to use a big, bad weapon. Which means that wouldn't change in a meritocratic system lamo.

Ingrid's crest comes from another family?

I forgot Ingrid's actually related to Judith. It explains the shared badassery.

Love how Shez is acknowledging how there's no real rules to how crests relate to inheritance.

Ingrid's always so serious, lol. She's teaching Shez to keep Dimitri's reputation safe.

Good to note Shez ASKED Ingrid to teach her.

Ingrid's dream of becoming a knight makes me so sad. I'm glad she gets that in AM.

I don't see how she's not acting in the king's defense right now, though. Even as heir. Like, what's the difference between what she's doing now and being a knight?

I'm super excited for this one. It's one of the missed opportunity supports from Houses.

Miklain sounds like a pouty child, lamo. Though, he's def not a great person. It's like Sei's Kanki from Kingdom.

Really love how Ingrid, Sylvain, Dimitri, and Felix all had something to say and had a valid point. This is good drama. Curious to see how this plays out. Like will Miklain get redemption? Will it backfire on Dimitri?

Wait... you know Hetalia???!!!

I love Hetalia and I'm forever thankful that I was never exposed/encountered the bad side of it, especially since I've been in the Hetalia fandom for a long time. It does make me feel sad that whenever I bring up Hetalia, it's the bad side people only know 😔.

I still follow Himaruya's post (comic strips), if there's a new season, new character song, new theme song, drama cds, new musical, and merch. Atm, I have a mochi England plushie (it's the only one available) and a hetalia jacket. (I'm poor).

I fell inlove with history (I now love historical (even war) movies and known as the weird but smart/nerd and quiet student 🤣😅) and came to appreciate languages and culture of other countries, really fascinating. I also became a yearly viewer of Eurovision 😅. Some songs are in my playlist.

I love the characters cause despite them being based on stereotypes, you can see that they have their own distinct personality. Also the fact that they have human names, it really helps prevent people from thinking I'm crazy XD.

For anyone wondering (since I saw some anons who didn't know about it), Hetalia is a comedy/satire show/comic starring the personification of countries. Every epsiode is only 5 minutes so it's very quick. It can be/seem offensive, depending how you take some moments. It sometimes hits you with emotional damage out of nowhere and that's what I'm focused on in this fandom. Angst and historical aus is my bread and butter. Eng dub is great, it's like an official abridged XD. Be ready for the accents. It also has a movie. Expect silly moments most of the time. The story is not linear, it tackles history from 900-1000's to present time. It sometimes feels like a slice of life anime with historical/cultural trivias/jokes sprinkled in there. It has canon AUs as well like nyotalia, which is basically genderbent version of chars or nekotalia, which is the cast as cats. Advice, take the infos in the show with a grain of salt and maybe don't take everything seriously. It consists of a lot of male characters , so very limited female cast.

Now for the fandom, I can't control what part of it you may run into so uh... goodluck. Lucky for you, it's chill compared to what it's like before, like no joke. It does feel barren sometimes. Just beware ig lol. (I'm not really showing confidence towards the fandom, despite being part of it HAHAHAH XD) Be ready for the weirdness, we have Iceland x Fridge, Gru (yes from despicable me) x lovino (s. italy), sweden x ikea, toris (lithuiana) x therapy/happiness to name a few (crack) ships and a fricking religion called Doitsuism, idk why but it exists. 😂🤣🤣😅😭

If anyone is curious about character songs theres: aiyaa 4000 years (china), Moi moi (Finland), How about me (Estonia), Excuse me I'm sorry (Japan), white flame (Russia), and steady rhythmus (Germany) to name a few. There's a ton more, some have multiple char songs, while others have only one song. There's also group songs (two of which are christmas songs). Every song is sung by their VAs in the anime, including the ending songs. It has multiple versions so if you're tired listening to Italy singing the ed, try to listen to idk England's version, each one has different vibe and unique lyrics fitting for the char. Example, Ed 1 can be orchestral or rock depending which version you listened to, really cool stuff imo.

Weeb anon returns :'D : Samurai Flamenco wedding suit cards in the spinoff app is probably the most infamous example, but there was also Lucky Star (wedding scenario official art), I think Hibike Euphonium and a couple more yuri anime I'm not caught up on (girls in wedding dresses are a lot more popular, wonder why :P ), Kaworu and Shinji from Evangelion had wedding ring merch and wedding outfits for merch… I'm sure there's more of it though, Japan is always on top of its subtle fanservice merch.

Interesting what you're saying though! Again, might just be me coping, but I honestly feel like Jamie and Damon could crack at some point, if only to spite bigots, since the world is pretty ugly these days and they're punks at heart (not the correct technical term… but y'kno what I mean lol). Kinda like MCR used to make out on stage just to piss off some crowds. I think their perspective has definitely shifted over the years, especially since they're getting a lot of younger LGBTQ fans and they know it. Damon's out there dancing with a pride flag, singing "are you tranz like me?" and kissing Seye in all fairness haha. But they probably don't want to undermine 20 years' worth of work and ending up getting asked about 2doc every interview or sideline Noodle and Russ even more than they already are. I dunno, don't wanna play a mind reader. TLDR: I'm not starry-eyed thinking it'll ever happen, but I see a small possibility of them being fine with it now more than ever, whereas there was no chance a few years ago.

Ahhh okay! I'm learning a lot here. I'm very basic with my anime/manga consumption and really haven't ventured out of the shonen genre....ever idt lol. Up until recently I had only read or watched 4 different series. Thanks for sharing what you know!

I guess I'm skeptical of them not because I think they're uncomfortable with the idea, but moreso because I don't think they care enough about really developing the lore and characters. I also don't think the ship aligns with either of their personal, for lack of a better word, "headcanons" about 2D and Murdoc. Of the two, I think Jamie would be more likely to go, "fuck it" and let the writers do whatever. He already kind of does this - since P4, it's been the writers who have been the source of all the 2Doc hints we get in interviews, tiktoks, etc. Afaik, Jamie isn't involved in that.

Damon, as far as I know, doesn't seem to have any semblence of shipper vision. During P5, he said in an interview that 2D was happy Murdoc was in jail, and wanted him to stay there forever haha. And most recently, if I remember correctly, he said he didn't care about the PR side of Gorillaz at all, which I assume included the character interviews, lore updates via social media etc.. All of which he is entitled to feel! But I bring them up to support my impression that he isn't a shipper, and I wouldn't expect him to go to bat for 2Doc if he wanted to make a statement. But I might have missed some things, so if you or anyone reading this knows of any counter-evidence, I'm open to hearing it.

And that's true that canon 2Doc would probably be the final nail in the coffin for Russel and Noodle's relevance. And that would be a bummer, ngl. I'd feel bad for my friends who are fans of them.

That all being said, I think you bring up some good point, and ia that Jamon are both supportive of the fans and LGBT community, and are comfortable being open about that. But does that overlap with their respective interpretations of 2D and Murdoc? Idk. I think if I was placing a bet, I'd put money on Jamie giving Noodle a girlfriend before any ship between the guys. But my main theory is that management will eventually see that 2Doc is popular and accepted by enough of the fandom that it will help them trend lol. But I'm also not expecting anything...but it's fun to conjecture about.

We'll see how this post has aged after 20 years 🤣

Beehive Games - the what, when and why

I wanted to talk about my little Indie Games company Beehive Games and have a sort of perma-post that i will link to directly from the website.

At time of writing, Beehive Games is coming up to around 5 years old where we have released 3 or 4 itch.io/kartridge/game jolt games, 1 steam game (including Steam Deck support) and currently working on a Switch version of Space Haters, and working on (at least) 3 new things.

But where did it all begin? Since about 2008 I have always wanted to make my own games and noodled with a few projects, including a release of "Storm Ship Shiro" on the Vita via PlayStation mobile before Beehive even existed.

I continued to make games in my free time, usually JRPG games that I would never finish or release 🤣

I also work full time in the games industry on a load of different projects, and was working on Fable Fortune (one of my favorite games I worked on) for a while. However, I was working at a multi-project studioand after Fortune wrapped up, I moved on to a match-3 mobile title, which for me wasn't exactly stimulating. I was sort of fine with working on it, at the end of the day it was my job and I needed to pay the bills, and the job was comfortable.

But the project was boring.

So, I decided to start my own company as a side-hustle to release my games. And that was Beehive Games. The reason I started my company is having a LTD company gives you a little bit more protection, i.e. if I really messed up with it my house that I pay a mortgage on would hopefully not be in the firing line😁

To start I released a couple of games on itch.io (I didn't think they were good enough for Steam... but well they could go up there as there is worse up there right now.

They were Devilwood and Storm Ship Shiro: True Pilot Edition. As with everything on itch, they did... fine. Well fine for side hustle/hobby projects.

I also just remebered Shiro came out on Kartridge! Is that still a thing?! I should check that out and see if I can get Space Haters on there.

Anyway, back on track. I came up with a random idea called Space Haters which was a "one-shot vertical shooter set in the ruthless world of interglactic music". I knocked something up pretty quickly with pixel art and actually it isn't a far cry to what was released from a gameplay perspective.

During this time, one of my best mates who also happens to be a good artist, asked if I was stiill doing the Beehive thing. I said yes and he joined me in building stuff. Originally we wanted to make a quite high end horror game. And to be fair we could have done it pretty well, but in the end we realised we just needed to do something quicker start to finish.

We kicked off with Space Haters and then found my other friend who was a musician. And then covid happenned and none of us had much to do in the evenings so we just cracked on with Space Haters. I don't know the exact man hours, but I don't think it was anything insane (maybe like 3-4 months of actual man hours).

And we released it on Steam!

Which was awesome!

Again it hasn't made much money at all, but really I didn't care. A team I built made something from start to finish and released it and had fun!

That was 2021 we released it. Unfortunately after that, our artists employer was bought out by one of the biggest games companies ever and big company's and releasing stuff you are gonna sell on stores do not mix.

Shortly after, i had a rest of just noodling with ideas, but I was pretty run down not actively making anything that I was gonna release.

Then, about 3 or 4 months later I playes some Kentucky Route Zero and thought, "I can have a go at somehting like that". I had also just left my job working on quite a large narrative game so thought I could give it a shot.

That project was Getting There, which at time of writing is in the back end of development.

As I worked on there, myself and another friend explored what would happen if I made Beehive into a proper full-time business and messed around doing some Software as a Service for game dev.

However, as I dug more and more into that process and I was doing more managerial stuff in my full time job, I realised that for something that I do for fun in my free time, the prospect of running a bigger company, having employees and all that jazz was fundamentally not what i wanted to do right now. Never say never in the future now.

Also, Software as a service tools was boring. Tooling is really important in game dev, but selling it as a product to others and supporting it is not somehting I wanted to do. I just wanted to make cool games!

It is also worth noting, company admin is both boring and can be horrendously stressful on a good day and there are a number of ways of screwing it up on seemingly simple things.

So 2023, where is Beehive now.

Well apart from being sort of cyber-squatted by some company that is making a pokemon knock off we are focusing on PC and Switch games that I want to make and I feel passionate about!

And when I say PC, in particular the Steam Deck. I grew up with handheld games and the Switch is probably the best console I have owned. I used to be very attached to all my handhelds, bu that is a whole

I realised that even though I do it every day, I will always want to make games outside my day job. And fundamentally there is something really satisfying making somehting start to finish with a low budget without various business reasons that can impact the end result.

That doesn't mean I would be unhappy if Beehive made loads of money off of one of my indie games, and that doesn't mean none of the games I am making will be unambitous. It is more I can work on them without worrying the whole company is gonna fall apart or i am gonna end up dead and broke on the street! I am slo not doing it alone. My favourite composer i get to work with is still involved and I get my mates who are interested involved wherever I can and where they want and have the bandwidth to help!

Apart from getting Space Haters and Getting There over the finish lines, I have a set of evening and weekend projects.

Evening projects require less "cognitive load" and can be chunked away at for like an hour. In this case, that is the Shiro remake, which we will see how long that takes.

Weekend projects require me to book some time out and think about them. My JRPG requires me to sit down and think more about the tools, systems, etc. They are games where I need to do a bit more research and figure stuff out. To put it bluntly, I already know how to make a Shmup, a Horror Game, a Stealth Game and a pixel-art zelda like so they are quicker and require less cognitive load and therefore I can handle them after a fulll day of work. JRPG and anything that requires with dealing with LotCheck, store releasing, etc needs some dedicated time booked out for it.

One of the things I'm currently working on is a crack ship fic and LBR, crack ships are the way to go.

3. What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it and/or share it anyway)

My McTartt WIP originated from a single scene I had in my head and then all the set-up and context I needed for it to be turned into a whole ass fic kept getting added. I have up to the second chap written but I'm struggling to arsed to complete it.

20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?)

In my one and only Ted fic, the underlying theme it hinges on is an unspoken callback to Ted spending every Sunday playing darts with his dad. I tried to channel that time spent with a loved one on Sundays into future hobbies and habits that he develops.

25. What part of writing is the most fun?

Probably the coming up with ideas part. Now the actual writing part and having to actually commit to my ideas 🤣🤣 JK I do love writing, but I love coming up with ideas and plotlines more.

I'm crying 🤣🤣 I sent that same tweet to a friend last night because it had me cackling.

No, he doesn't really feel the need to remind army that the other duos are FRIENDS as often as he does with minimoni 🤣 he does and has often moved another member to take their spot next to Jimin but these comments usually come out for minimoni and on occasion a few of the other members too, like vmin and yoonmin I think. A Minimoni One not included in the video:

And for one of the biggest sensitive to minimoni moments that wasn't verbal back in 2015 because that one was one of the few clear as day moments to see:

No, I don't think this is jealously. I think this is just him wanting to be right next to Jimin. Some of the minimoni moments though obviously make him a little more sensitive then others lol. The fansign minimoni moment is one of the most clear signs of jealousy that I can't think of another explanation for. I talk about the jealously stuff in a post on my masterlist already too, as well as a jimin jealously moment from celebrity bromance as well too. I don't know why RM in particular seems to make him a little extra sensitive about it all, but he really wants everyone to be super clear, minimoni are just friends 😂😅 Honestly he really does want everyone to be aware that Jimin's ships are FRIENDships 🤣

International Fanworks Day 2022

Thank you so much to the Creative Lounge for making these bingo cards for International Fanworks Day 2022!

I filled out both cards and there are a lot of stories so I’m putting the rest of this post under a cut.

Favourite Trope: Seducing Tobirama for the pining trope. So much pining!

SO much research: Courting Culture Confusion. I keep having to break for research spirals. 🤣

Smallest thing you made: No Stars in the Sky. Only 41 words.

Was supposed to be a one-shot: Escape and Evade. This was only ever supposed to be a short thing - the first chapter was supposed to be a stand alone one shot. Whoops. It ended up being 38K and the first part of a series that is currently 490K... and still ongoing.

Flowed from my fingertips fully-formed: (Im)pure Chaos. It just happened!

Created during a weird rush of energy: Founders Fairy Tales. I wrote 11K over two days - I don't know what happened.

Cried while creating this: Not Even the Law Can Help You. Oh yeah. Buckets of tears.

Train wreck turned into awesomeness: Orienting an Orbit. This story fought me like hell, but I quite like how it turned out.

I had to create new tags: Sharks Hug With Their Mouths. I definitely had to create new tags for this, including a new tag for the relationship.

No beta no regrets: Almost everything I've ever written. Only one of my stories has been beta'd - Silence is Golden.

I invented this rare pair: Blondes Save the World. This relationship tag didn't exist on AO3 before I wrote it, and this is still the only story on AO3 with this ship.

Au/crossover that no-one asked for: The Wrong Question. Definitely no one asked for this one. 🤣

Successfully wrestled into submission: Slither and Stalk. Another story that fought me, but I actually like.

Fave OC-centric work: Home is in the Heart (of the Ocean). Niko is my very first OC in Naruto fandom and she's dear to my heart.

Was supposed to be fluff, (I swear): The Closing of Our Shared Narrative. I don't know how the angst crept in...

I sleep-created this: Bad Moon Rising. The second chapter was entirely plotted in my sleep - I'm a lucid dreamer so I do that sometimes.

Biggest thing you made: To Tempt a Target. 114K words. The only thing bigger is the series bible which currently stands at 141K.

The one that haunts my dreams (finished or un): There are three of these, all unfinished. Death is Not the End - because the short story that I posted is only the beginning of a giant AU, Hold Your Children Precious - a really dark cannon divergence AU, and an as yet untitled (and utterly crack) idea in which Naruto canon is actually a D&D campaign played by the members of the Akatsuki IRL. Hidan is a med student and health nut, which should really tell you exactly how crack it is...

So underrated: The Mirror Wheel Eye by @pentapoda. I cannot believe this only has 157 kudos!

Made you feel emotions (how dare): A Gift Just for You by @creative-sweets. Super sweet and cute!

Brought you into a fandom/ship: As Is the Sea Marvelous by @blackkatmagic. The story that dragged me screaming (with joy) on to the MadaTobi ship and gave me an understanding of the Founders Era.

Learned so much from this: a symbol of subjugation by evocates. A seminal foundation of this fandom for me.

Fanwork that inspired me to create fanworks: naruto short fic tumblr fills by @robininthelabyrinth. My very first Naruto story is based on chapter 89 (Run) and written with nirejseki's permission.

Fave twist on a trope: Konoha is the Clownfish AU of the shinobi world by drelfina. Amazing take on the mpeg trope, just amazing.

Made me scream in the comments: Wingtips by @good-grievance. Scream, keyboard smash, everything.

A+ characterisation: blood rare and sweet as cherry wine by @asukaskerian. Fantastic characterisation, just wonderful, and such fantastic world building! Fraternal polyamory! Incredible!

So fluffy it gave me cavities: Storehouse Treasure by @dahtwitchi. This is the story to reread when I want to be happy. I could just squeeze Kura forever, she is so cute! (Although Madara would murder me.)

Helped me to heal: (If you are not by my side) What does it matter if I can ascend to the highest peak? by drelfina. The very first story I read with the MadaTobi pairing and the one which made me go, “wait, is this Naruto?????”

The one everyone should read: Under a Teardrop Moon by @writhingbeneathyou. To describe this would be to ruin it. Just read it, it's wonderful.

Reread immediately: Of Demon Fish and Time Travel by @kitsunekage88. Amazing time travel AU. I cannot help but re-read it whenever I see it.

Spiciest smut: Gentle Scales by @artbythedarkside. I'm a huge fan of this story. HUGE.

Hurt so good: We Bleed the Same by @madmothmadame. Oh god. So good, and so painful, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Lost sleep, no regrets: In the Eye of the Beholder by @hali-ra. I read all 90K in a single night and I regret nothing. NOTHING.

Hats off to this mash-up: oh, but the revelation of stardust by @pearlescentpearl. MCU and Naruto are not fandoms that I ever thought could be smashed together but WOW. I read this story before I even knew who Tobirama was, and it's only gotten more excellent since.

The head cannon that lives in my head rent-free: Eyestealer by @robininthelabyrinth. Amazing. I have never seen this concept done anywhere else and I cannot write Hashirama without thinking of this story.

Is it weird that I want to fic this fic?: Tobirama-Centric Snippets and Oneshot Collection by @kitsunesongs. Chapter 7 (To the Waters and the Wilds) and chapter 9 (The Senju Spring Festival) are especially inspiring!

Pulled off a really tricky scenario: I'm powerful (with a little bit of tender) by @silverutahraptor. Beautiful lyrical story telling. Chapter three is my favourite.

Wish it were canon: War In Times of Peace by @raendown. Oh this one, how I wish it were canon, I really do!

Fave OC-centric work: Doing the Work by MarbleGlove. An absolute joy to read, an incredible example of how an original character can impact canon.

The one that I hold out hope that it will be updated one day: Captured Crimson by @emilx311. I waited... and it happened! Good things do come to those who wait! 💚💚💚💚💚

Confession: whenever I get slightly worried about the massive Gw*nriel following on social media, I just open the em*riel tag and am reminded that people will ship a character who spoke less than 80 words in a book, and had 0 interactions with Az, with him over Elain and then I feel all better 😌

(I also notice many of the Em*riel shippers are now Gw*nriel shippers, and took a note that I didn’t see a single one who now ships Elriel…wonder if that’s a coincidence 🤔🤣)

Hahah the whole Emeriel thing cracks me up. I too have noticed that they all transitioned into Gwynriel shippers. I guess they like being disappointed.

I sometimes get a little frazzled by how many Gwynriel shippers there are online too. But, the way I think about it is like this: a lot of new fans have found out about this series through TikTok (myself included). So if a new reader starts the series because they saw an interesting video talking all about that specific ship, the reader is already going into the series with a bias. All the Elriel scenes they will dismiss as nonsense and all the Gwynriel scenes help set the stage for the greatest love story every told. Which is so unfortunate for them. I would hate to go into a book and not be able to look at all the material objectively. I also think it’s “cool” these days to hate on people and because Elain is a fictional character who is more traditionally feminine, it’s especially easy to be cruel towards her and then brush it off with “omg she’s just a character it’s not that serious.” They all live in an echo chamber that I want nothing to do with. Elriel are endgame and no amount of people on TikTok circle-jerking to a few Gwynriel interactions is going to change that.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry cause on one hand we have bard just, breaking my heart here with his monologue of his traumatic real life war experiences and how he had to watch his friends die-

but then on the other hand, ALL OF THAT was just because-

oh boy those two gentlemen know some things up. but what exactly made them look up from their act? what I love about these type of speech bubbles is that you know what is emphasised so even idiots like I can tell what's important. do they think that Ada's mention of the human heart makes her suspicious, because of its relation too blood? I personally would have been more freaked out if she said, "but his brain as well" so I'm not completely sure what's going through their heads.
