Of Bears And Men.
I’m not sure where it came from, but this thing about a woman choosing between a bear and a man has been going across social media. At first, I laughed, because I completely understand why some women might choose a bear. Given an opportunity to choose between a bear and a man, I might go with a bear myself. Given a choice between a bear and a woman, I might go with the bear too. It’s not a…

The Will to Change summary by ChatGPT + My Personal Comments
The Will to Change by bell hooks is a powerful exploration of the ways in which patriarchy affects men and women. In this book, hooks argues that patriarchy is a deeply ingrained system of oppression that damages both men and women, and that it is only through a collective effort to challenge and transform this system that true gender equality can be achieved. One of the key points in The Will…

You know what I think a lot of people don’t realize about grooming is that, the person will almost always start pushing your boundaries in little, non-sexual ways.
For example, one big thing a person who groomed me did was joke about killing and eating my dog. She knew I love my dogs like they’re my children, and I’d told her those “jokes” made me uncomfortable. But she kept doing it. The same joke over and over again; it wasn’t even funny (“I believe all god’s creatures have a place…next to the potatoes”). At first I pushed back, but then it got to a point where I got tired of resisting and treated like I was stiff and couldn’t take a joke. So I relented on that boundary.
That alone might seem insignificant and dumb, but with groomers, as soon as they break down one boundary they’ll immediately start trying to break down another. And each little one they break, the more they get you used to letting them violate you to the point where you’re afraid to speak up against the bigger things.
So especially if you’re a younger person on the internet, never ignore when someone is making you uncomfortable especially if they’re much older. Even if it seems like a silly, insignificant thing. They know what they’re doing, and it’s important to stay safe.

It pains me to say that I agree with her. She is almost right. Don’t be a willing #plantationworker .

As a young girl in the church I was taught to "respect myself."
We were told it from every angle. Our teachers, our preachers, our parents. "As a woman you have to respect yourselves." "How can men respect you if you're not respectful of yourself?"
I'm not sure why an 11 year old girl needed tips on how to make men respect her, but they felt it was important nonetheless.
So I educated myself and spoke my mind. I wanted to be respected for how clever I was. I asked questions that were thoughtful and well reasoned, I corrected elders when they were wrong and I focused on knowing as much as I could.
They didn't like that.
So I put all that aside, and instead I learned about feminism. I decided I should be respected for how firm I was. I said no loudly and clearly. I made my boundaries known and I reacted loudly when they were crossed.
They didn't mean like that either.
So instead, I put myself in therapy. I wanted to be respected for how self assured I was. I started caring for myself and putting me first. I healed from my trauma and learned how to not repeat old cycles, and everyone who I could, I brought them up with me.
They didn't like that at all.
No, apparently the type of self respect they wanted me to learn was the type where I beleived lies at face value, said nothing to those who crossed my boundaries and wallowed in depression and toxic cycles. But also like, while keeping my shoulders covered or something.
Silly me.

The right downplays misogyny from boys as "boys being boys 😏"
The left downplays misogyny from boys as "it's the toxic masculinity 🥺"
In both scenarios boys aren't directly held accountable for their actions and the women + girls they abuse are seen as passive objects for male character development.

"Guys think about the Roman empire," funny, when you check out who they follow on instagram and twitter its never any history pages, its only ever barely legal girls forced to do Onlyfans for financial security reasons or actresses forced to partake in degrading abusive r*pe scenes. Where's all the Nero and Julius Caesar?

usually I don't really care for genderbend AUs but there's something about yuri fight club that's so compelling to me... something something the standard of mother, wife and homemaker that we've sort of gotten over as a society but haven't bothered to replace with anything either... tyler "i'm wondering if another man is really the answer we need" durden... something about fem AU jack treating her body the way he treats his apartment in fc...... religious symbolism in fight club? let's talk about the original sin... something something consumerism something something beauty industry if you just buy enough you can make up for it all.... also something about "I wanted to destroy something beautiful" in this au's context that I can't elaborate on rn bc I'm at uni but do you feel me

Anyone else been noticing how absolutely unapologetically men have been supporting Andrew Tate?
Yesterday I was watching a video called "New Yorkers reacting to Andrew Tate" on Youtube and every single fucking top comment was like "ok but why are these girls calling Andrew bald? No wonder he hates women" or "I don't agree with Andrew Tate BUT these girls are so rude and they're making fun of Andrew Tate, I think I understand why he hates women" like WHAT THE FUCK YOU STUPID FUCKING MOIDS???
How is it that a dirty male can be like "yes women should be raped, subjugated, treated like property and be sex trafficked" but no woman can even call him a bald asshole?
They hate us so much that they expect us to be nice to them even when they call for brutal and inhumane violent treatment against us. Why are m*n so repulsive and pathetic holy fuck

I have to say this because I am offended as a woman who grew up with Barbie AND He-Man. I don't hate the Barbie movie because it isn't in tuned with my politics. I hate it because it's not really about Barbie at all. It is an imposter. Barbie is feminist, but NOT a radical feminist. She is diplomatic, kind, she loves men and considers them as her equal, and she wants everyone to be confident and kind. As for Ken, he would never turn on her because he is faithful, intelligent, kind and capable. He is not a boob who is under her thumb.
The Barbie movie is not about Barbie. It's about all of the misconceptions we have of Barbie just as I suspected it would. And I have every right to be displeased about that. And you know what else? So does anyone else including men.
If women are allowed to hate Masters of the Universe: Revelations because it is a badly written show that doesn't respect the lore, then men are allowed to not like the Barbie movie for the same reasons especially if those reasons are sound. Yes, I'm sure some of them hate it for sexist reasons, but the majority of men I see hating on the Barbie movie hate it for the same reasons I do and I'm a woman. If anything, I'm glad men respect Barbie enough to see the film is wrong. The problem is that the media is only talking about what the sexist men are saying blatantly ignoring what all the other fans are saying.
But then again, what did we expect? The same thing happened with Netflix She-Ra and Masters of the Universe: Revelations. When fans don’t like a new product because it doesn’t respect the lore and feels like imposter media, we get accused of being bigoted in some way or the other. We are like that lone honest kid who calling out that the Emperor is naked, but is then told to shut up because they’re upsetting everyone. In other words, we live in a time right now where if you ever admit you don’t like something even for the most valid reason, you are either silenced, ignored or made out to be the bad guy.
However, it is all the more reason to keep being honest. And Hollywood knows it because even it can’t run from the truth forever.
And I think it’s reached the phase where it is getting out of breath from trying to.
PS: I don’t want my son to grow up in a society where his free speech, including the freedom to give an opinion on a movie of all things, is either limited or prohibited just because he’s a boy/man while the girl/woman next to him can say anything she wants about anything she chooses.
Like I said before, if women can say what they want about He-Man, men can say what they want about Barbie. Period.
