At first, it sounded ridiculous that a party of lvl 8 characters would have to deal with a god-eating entity. Even now, when we have a confirmation that Keyleth (and possibly other high-level allies) will be there, it still feels like a fever dream. We're, most probably, not even halfway into the campaing, there are so many other threads to follow regarding character arcs, and yet we're already dealing with world-ending things.

But then I remembered Purvan Suul who, according to what Brennan said in Exu: Calamity, was level 7 or 8 when all hell broke loose (Exu: Calamity, episode 1, 3:26:55) and it made me uneasy. Bells Hells are level 8 now, just like Purvan was back then. And he survived long enough to become a legend, even though those way stronger than him (Ring of Brass, level 14) died during the first onslaught. And I don't even know where I'm going with this or if there's truly any connection between those facts, but I know one thing for sure:

I don't like it.

#it makes me nervous #logically I know Matt won't kill Keyleth #and she's going to keep at bay evil guys so that BH have a bigger chance of succeeding #and that our party will be mostly fine and they'll manage to stop the ritual with 1 or 2 baddies to keep the stakes high #and let them travel across Exandria some more #but there's a 1% chance that something awful will happen #critical role #cr3 #bells hells #c3e50 #exu: calamity

just read latest chapter and (spoilers obvs) i have to say, at least Qin Xian made sure Bai Mo was out of the way because, as I speculated in a previous post, there was NO way Bai Mo would just let him imprison Wang Yi

#also ig wang yi wouldnt be so desperate to leave since he isnt totally at fault for the accident #tho id like to think he would still work for the time travel item #actually in this case it is good because otherwise wang yi would turn back time and not know what the real cause was #anyways ig qin xian is trying to protect wang yi so he absolutely doesnt die #i would still like to see an angsty imprisonment tho #itd be ironic if wang yi was kept safe and ended up dying by his own hand bcuz of it #i have to be a great villain #i want to be a big baddie
