I don't trust myself to landscape two matching brows out of the entity I've got. And how am I supposed to sign up for my death if my eyebrows are uneven?

This is how you should be looking at the photos of every influencer’s body when you log onto Pinterest, Tiktok or Instagram.

Ladies and Germs, I saw a video the other day that fxcking blew my mind. This is really important.
https://www.tiktok.com/@thefemalelead/video/7179284617063681285
This woman explains just how easy it is to warp, tuck, reduce and enlarge areas of the body IN REAL TIME while she is recording.
As the video progresses she’s editing her appearance at the same time, while educating us about how easy it is to exist in photos AND VIDEOS online with a body that she (or anyone using these tools) does not possess. By the end, she looks UNRECOGNISABLE. She switches the filters on and off, like a before and after shot. The way the obvious clues such as suspicious looking bathroom tiles and stretched backgrounds are NOT noticeable (because it’s not a still image) is fuxcking dangerously deceptive.
Filters/editing tools are getting more and more advanced and it’s infuriating how these technological advancements are further feeding the beast of unrealistic beauty standards. It’s getting near impossible to to tell what’s real and what’s fake, even on video.
You know that quote ‘’Don’t believe everything you read online’’?
Disbelieve most pictures of bodies you see online
Go to the park, the supermarket, the gym or any public space; That’s what real people look like.
Please share the hell out of this post or the link to the video above. There’s no such thing as too many people being aware of this BS

can we talk about the anti-aging obsession among many of the sunscreen wearing skincare people because like. i wear sunscreen as much as anyone because i don't wanna get skin cancer and im also pretty pale, but it's definitely not because i'm worried about getting wrinkles. and like. its not just them - our entire society idealizes youngness to such an extreme degree but it just annoys me. of course you should take care of yourself to the best of your ability but also aging is natural and good and spending a ton of money and time and probably stressing yourself the hell out is not the way to go about it in my opinion

Gilding the lily
So weird seeing people/companies photoshop pics of Jeff Satur. It's like goldplating Davide. Doesn't need improvement, and calls attention to how unnecessary it is.

I just heard a commercial that broke my heart. It was for a credit card specifically for plastic surgery and the tagline was "get yourself back." A woman then talked about getting rid of her wrinkles and saying "I'm me again."
Listen, you are already YOU with your wrinkles! I would say you are more yourself with them than with chemicals injected into your face. Those wrinkles represent your life - your laughter, your smiles, your grief, your hard work, hours of conversation, and singing in the shower. What a horrible thing to tell a woman that she isn't herself with wrinkles.
Listen, I know plastic surgery serves a good purpose for car accident survivors, burn victims, breast cancer survivors, and other things. If the commercial had been about those things, the tagline would make sense. But for the natural aging process? Just no. Does anyone tell men they aren't themselves with wrinkles? Nope. On them, crow's feet and smile lines are considered handsome and a sign of wisdom. I think it's time for us to embrace that too, ladies!

Ya'll ever wonder which stupid pos in anime companies looks at perfectly good female/bipoc/lgbt characters and goes, "Mmmmm, this character's too interesting/smart/strong. Let's water 'em down and push 'em to the back to make room for this cishet white male." Probably the same one who looks at female characters with human anatomy and goes, "But I really think the audience would like it more if we made her shorter, gave her less bone and muscle mass, and took all the fat off her entire body except her chest and butt. Maybe add a little SA?"
