Will/Vessel headcanons
EN/CZ
EN
I wrote it originally in Czech to our group chat and I decided to share it here with you.
⚠️ I helped myself with Google translator a little bit ⚠️
I have to share a few headcanons, which should be spread in the name of Sleep 🙏🏻
So.. Will is terribly energetic and hyperactive. Such a bundle of ADHD. But when he gets under Vessel's hands, he is as tame as a lamb. Because Vessel will force him to calm down. Vessel usually pins him (to anything, to the bed, to the wall, to the ground...) and gently squeezes Will between his legs or around his neck with his BIG palm. Vessel prefers a light choke first and then the second part. 🍆💦
Will never says "daddy" but "papi"
Vessel loves Will's hair (especially when it's dyed blonde or pink) and shows it quite often by pulling on them.
Tumblr media
If Vessel decides for dirty talk, it's never as explicit and vulgar, or it certainly seems more "polite" than from the others.
Example: Vessel would not say: "Can you just shut up, and suck my cock, bitch" but "It would be better for you if you would be quiet and worship your god. On your knees Will. Now."
CZ
Musím se podělit o headcanons, které by měly být šířeny ve jménu Sleepa 🙏🏻
Takže.. Will je strašně energický a hyperaktivní. Vessel nejdříve preferuje lehký přiškrcení a až pak tu druhou část. 🍆💦
Will neříká "daddy" nikdy, ale "papi"
Vessel miluje Willovo vlasy (hllavně když jsou obarvené na blond, nebo na ružovo) a dost často to dáva najevo tím, že mu za ně tahá.
Tumblr media
Pokud se Vessel rozhodně pro dirty talk, nikdy není tak explicitní a vulgární, rozhodně to působí víc "slušněji" než u ostatních.
Příklad: Vessel by neřekl "Can you just shut up, and suck my cock, bitch" ale "It would be better for you if you would be quiet and worship your god. On your knees Will. Now."

————————————
They weren’t what you wanted, but you couldn’t have what you wanted. They were nice enough, treated you so respectfully and you felt so immensely smothered by their love. They were perfect in every way—but they weren’t him. You loved them, honest and true, but love’s only as good as the bone, and you were rotting inside.
Your insides were an utter travesty. Tar mucked up your heart, pumping the viscous substance through your body and replacing all the blood. It leaked into the joints and stiffened them. No amount of heat warmed the everlasting chill that made its home in your bones. Permafrost settled in your fingers and toes. You feared your entire being eventually would freeze. Guilt feasted greedily on the still living parts of you.
Blessed be your partner and their failed attempts at completing you. By no means were they a place holder, but they were a far cry from the love you craved. They knew of him and how you struggled to forget. They watched you—even offered to help—pick pieces of him out of you. Every time you plucked out a part, ten more grew back. He was a fucking disease, a curse you couldn’t escape. His presence was invasive. Like mint planted carelessly in the ground, he spread far beyond containment and choked out everything else.
It baffled you how someone who never was yours rooted so deep. His existence tangled and weaved into yours endlessly, coiling around the blood vessels and nerves. It would take a megaannum to rid yourself of him, to make yourself an entirely new person.
“Baby look! A shooting star!”
Their excited voice broke through your spiraling thoughts. You glanced up, catching the tail end of the meteorite before it burned up in the atmosphere. They smiled widely at you. Yours was less enthusiastic.
“Make a wish!”
You chuckled at their childlike amazement. What further harm could a wish cause?
They looked back at you, face still beaming with unadulterated joy.
“Do you wanna know what I wished for?”
“Please don’t.” You warned. “If you tell me, it won’t come true.”
They were cute when they pouted. It almost made you feel warm again.
“Oh c’mon. That’s just a bunch of hocus pocus.”
How wonderful it must be to be that naive, you thought.
“I wished for your pain and suffering to stop.”
A crushing, suffocating weight settled on your shoulders and chest.
You smiled despondently. “That’s sweet.”
“What did you wish for?”
“It’s a secret.”
You knew better than to share. You knew the power and influence the stars held. Mocking them only fueled the fire.
Out in the middle of nowhere, the sky shone brightly. Not a city light or blink of a tower could be seen. Though the twinkling jesters tormented you, you still found them beautiful. You wondered if he still held such vehement hatred for them. Would he bother to make a silly wish? You doubted it.
The color of the full moon high in the sky bared an eerily similar resemblance to his eyes of that night. One day you hoped he could forgive you for disappearing. You hoped your wish would come true, that he would find peace someday.
————
Nicholas never learned what terrified you that night. You distanced yourself tremendously afterwards until you stopped talking altogether. Weeks passed by in a blur. Months bled into each other and before he knew it, two years came and went. The once painful yet warming ache in his chest when you were near had been replaced with a gaping, festering open wound in your absence. His heart left some time ago in search of you. He let it go willingly, knowing the journey would be fruitless. It was broken anyway. He had no use for it.
What did Nicholas expect to happen if he found you? It would be more of the same and he grew tired of the routine.
This is what I get for ignoring logic, he told himself over and over, repeating it like a broken record.
The stars didn’t want you together, and they finally ripped you away from him for good. Nicholas just wished he knew what broke you—but like always, the stars gave him nothing but agony.
He stopped smoking in his hotel rooms and almost completely. Not because of the complaints and threats of being kicked out, but because of the memory of you. The phantom feel of your lips and whisper of your breath lingered on every fresh pack of cigs he opened. It haunted him more than he’d ever admit. Weed started giving him horrifying panic attacks and every high was worse than the last. He thought maybe it was just a bad batch, but after the fifth time, he couldn’t handle anymore. Noah made Nicholas promise he’d stop.
Nicholas was used to picking up crumpled pieces of other people and fitting them back together, but he had no one to collect his pieces. Noah tried, he really did. He stuck his neck out so many times and cut his fingers a thousand more trying to fit together the jagged sharp edges of Nicholas. He was a complicated puzzle of grief, anger, and depression.
For as long as Noah could remember, he never bought into the star crossed, ill fated bullshit Nicholas spewed. Now he thought maybe he was on to something. The hollow shell in the shape of his best friend hurt him deep in the depths of his soul. All his attempts to relieve Nicholas’ grieving fell flat. The only thing he hadn’t tried, Nicholas made him swear not to do.
“Leave (Y/N) alone, Noah. It’s pointless.”
Noah didn’t share Nicholas’ intense animosity of the stars, but he still cursed them for giving his friend this turmoil.
A shooting star shot across the sky. Noah shook his head and scoffed. What further harm could a wish cause?

Probing New Album from Monovoth
Tumblr media
Monovoth’s self-titled album is an offering at the feet of despair… if despair is an intergalactic goddess wielding arcane knowledge with one hand, and unspeakable terror with the other. One look at the album art tells you it’s going to be interesting. Frontman Lucas Wyssbrod (MOSTRO) dreams up a realm “where in [sic] a female extraterrestrial deity - a corruption of the notion the Catholic religion has of the virgin - is seen suspended in the voids of space.” Let’s strap in and cue the X-Files theme for this journey into the black vacuum of the cosmos.
Monovoth by Monovoth
The Key begins at a creeping pace. A faint static pulse creates an otherworldly atmosphere. Tinny synth notes jangle your perception— it’s unclear whether time is moving forward or backward. A heavy melody sets in with plodding drums and crashing cymbals. It’s ritualistic and foreboding, with dark majesty at an unfathomable scale.
Ulcerated and Ablazed has Close Encounters vibes with an unsettling tune in minor chords. There’s something both resonant and discordant about the progression of notes repeated like a mantra. Listening to this composition makes you feel like you’ve caught the attention of something alien, whose intentions are beyond out comprehension. The drone subsides, and we re-orient ourselves to waves lapping a shoreline. It’s as if we’ve been abducted and returned to a different location, dazed but finally lucid.
Servants is slow and solitary. Each note echos in the emptiness like water dripping in an abandoned space. The intensity swells and sadness bursts through the walls in slow motion, inundating the room. As quickly as they arrived, the layers of sound recede and we find ourselves alone again. The track is an emotional powerhouse that manages to sneak up on me even on subsequent plays.
Dour and heavy, Tace Dolorem is as impenetrable as a sheer rock face. This deliriously doomy offering picks apart its own strata, exposing muscle and bone in a solemn act of sacrifice. Federico Ramos (Avernal) adds extra weight to this track with arrangements for electric and acoustic guitar.
Hands skulks onto the scene with a haunted stare and an insatiable appetite. It quickly distends over its own borders encompassing both religious ecstasy and outright fury. Spoken word poetry and relentless drumming underline the duality of this intense offering.
Laesura is a funerary trudge through the brain-scramblies. It’s like riding around inside the hollow shell of someone who is completely disassociated, emptied of all thought and meaning. Again and again, the electric guitar pierces the stillness of the vacant vessel.
This saturnine album closes on a piece of unexpected beauty. Franco Colautti lends his talents on the brief instrumental Cerro Sangre. His mandolin adds punctuation and form to an intricate, tangled tableau.
Monovoth has constructed a shrine to sadness, with each track more haunted and otherworldly than the last. I don’t know if this extraterrestrial cult is recruiting, but I’m ready to put my name in the offering plate.

Juulna’s ‘Hold Onto Your Sanity’ Fic, Book, and Music Recs for the 2020 Dumpster Fire... Part 3!
Tumblr media
So you just crash-landed behind enemy lines in a war you know barely anything about except that your role seems infinitesimal and insignificant, and dumped into a year, 2020, that already seems fifteen years too long.
Before you drown your sorrows in some fantastic scotch or wine coolers for days (or weeks)… I have a proposal.
That you step back from the flames, tune things out for a bit, and try to forget about the outside world for a while (but don’t forget to vote or I will be very sad at you!).
These fics are meant to take you out of your head (I’m including more plot/story-minded fics than PWP) for the next few weeks or months as the world goes to hell (even more) but of course there are some bits of solid angst in these as there is wont to be in many a fic. Check the tags, read responsibly, don’t like-don’t read, ship and let ship, and please do leave a kudos and maybe even a comment! :)
This is PART THREE.
Check out here for Part One and most of the Marvel fic recs, along with a selection of book recs too. :)
And here’s Part Two, which has the bulk of my Star Wars and Game of Thrones recs, along with Spotify playlists!
Part Three is this one here, all about the Potterverse.
(Not yet complete) Here’s Part Four, filled with even more shippy goodness from all over the Star Trek universe. So. Many. Ships. :D
(Not yet complete) Part Five is Witcher, Man From UNCLE, Stargate: Atlantis and SG-1, Sherlock, Hannibal, and Doctor Who.
(Not yet complete) Part Six will probably be all for my newfound love of Supergirl, along with some Game of Thrones and Marvel ships I skipped, because I gotta stop somewhere with all these recommendations or I’ll be at it forever. Seriously, how much of this stuff have I read!?
But I think we all need some distractions from the world these days, eh? Or something to console us other than internet rage and a barrel of ice cream and/or hard alcohol.
Tumblr media
Potterverse
I’ve chosen to pick fics (mostly) off of AO3 for their easy reading access, though HP fics’ golden years were on sites like fanfiction.net and other independent archives like Sycophanthex and others which have closed their doors over the years, sadly. Some of these fics date back to almost 20 years old, or more, amazingly!
For fics on fanfiction.net, I highly recommend using this link (FicSave) to epub/mobi converter rather than dealing with the frustrating app. It functions like AO3′s built-in download button.

So my challenge to you, if your world is falling, burning down around you in flames... is this:
...if you feel yourself getting anxious or depressed, whether from the news or being cooped up in isolation or bored or on the verge of tearing your hair out or jumping off that roof or grabbing something to go after the dictator-of-the-week.... pause, take a breath, open up this rec list, close your eyes and pick something, and let chance take you somewhere hopefully far away. Let yourself be transported.
Oh, and don’t click on this Google Drive link. Really, there’s not 30+ GB of data on that Drive I’m sharing. Shame. There totally aren’t tens of thousands of books, as many audiobooks as could fit, and a large collection of fanfiction downloaded from AO3 in there. (Also, not all fics have been shared to that folder yet; I’m working on it a little at a time as I download more.)

ASM vol 5 #9/810 Thoughts
Tumblr media
I wrote this before the arc had finished so please bare that in mind if you read on because I recognize some of it might seem weird or redundant in the wake of the conclusion tot he arc.
Kinda sorta mixed feelings for this issue.
Okay so here are the aspects I DIDN’T like.
The recap page implies that the general public is starting to forget Peter ran Parker industries and that the heroes all think Spider-Man is in the pocket of the Kingpin.
Now recap pages aren’t actually part of a story so they don’t exactly count per se.
But if that is the intention of the author then the series has done a poor job of conveying the former. It’s just ignored the elephant in the room that was Parker Industry.
And whilst Spencer was saddled with that mess a mess it was nevertheless and he’s cleaned up a lot of other things. Whilst I didn’t consider it a mess necessitating any cleaning up nevertheless when Steven Moffat took over Doctor Who in 2010 (technically 2009 but that’s not important) very early on he established that the massive global Dalek invasion everyone on Earth knew about had been erased from everyone’s memories (mostly) meaning that now alien invasions could happen and new characters would react as though they were sceptical of the existence of wider alien life.
Again, this wasn’t necessary but the point being was that Moffat put the work in to fix something he perceived as a big problem that resulted from the prior regime. Spencer has been doing some of the same here but not addressed that biggest of elephants in the room that from it’s mere announcement the fanbase was collectively calling out as something that would fuck over the series going forward. Because absolutely not would the general public just forget who Peter Parker was in regards to PI, let alone the company itself.
As for the Kingpin thing, I never thought about it until just this issue but I kind of have issues with it now. Because even if the other heroes do not know Peter’s identity surely they DO know Spider-Man and/or Kingpin well enough by this point that they’d not presume Kingpin and Spider-Man to be buddies.
I mean there ARE ways to explain their feelings, like if they presume Spider-Man to be an imposter or something but him being on the outs with the other heroes merely because Fisk put on an appearance of them being friends in spite of their years of animosity shouldn’t make the heroes automatically resentful towards Spider-Man.
Again, it can work but Spencer needs to better elaborate upon it.
Moving in I did have a few issues with Felicia here. At first Spencer seemed to have her acting vindictive akin to stupidity of Slott’s run after SpOck sent her to jail. But then he explained why she was actually miffed at him and it made more sense.
 Well sorta.
On the one hand Felicia has always been in love with Spider-Man and so if in character Felicia should jump at the chance to sleep with him if he propositions her. On the other hand though she does say Spider-Man was being creepy which and we get a mere snippet of what he was doing, so presumably he might’ve gone further than that.
The other thing I didn’t like was Peter’s attitude to Felicia. Hey I’m all for ignoring stupid continuity if you are trying to fix things, but here...that isn’t happening. Peter is treating Felicia as an old friend but she hasn’t been that since 2009 and he’s still lying to her. Maybe that will be fixed next issue and their old relationship established but right now it is problematic.
Oh and also the issue seemed to treat their old relationship as being messed up due to Felicia’s criminal tendencies when that wasn’t it. They hooked up in a monogamous relationship 3 times and whilst that was why they broke up the first time that wasn’t what happened on the second or third occasions.
Finally I wish Spencer wasn’t maintaining Felicia’s tendency to be evil. Being a Robin Hood style character okay sure. But here she is basically what she was like in 2009 (except not made into a vessel for Joe Kelly’s midlife crisis sexual fantasies) but if she’s still like that her character is still in need of repair.
Now this isn’t to say I hated every moment they interacted. Far from it. it was more on point than it’s been in a long time and much improved over BND and Slott’s run. So within the context of post-OMD Spider-Man it was good but within a wider context there are still problems. It is at least written better than before, I especially loved the acknowledgment of them making for a good team.
Finally I disliked the art. Common criticism by this point but it stands.
That’s everything I disliked but on the more positive side of things I felt that the general plot of the Thieves Guild is still a fun idea.
The Thieves Guild are an X-Men/Gambit concept but Spencer has put enough distance between them that this NYC chapter of them can be played enough as a ‘Spider-Man thing’. And the notion of them swiping all the paraphernalia of superheroes through the power of super thievery is a fun superhero plot.
I also don’t mind Felicia being a member of their ranks. I mean I feel like if she always had that tattoo Peter would’ve noticed by now, but there are numerous ways to explain that. If nothing else I love the scene between Felicia and her Dad, because it humanizes her, touches on her origin and allows her to be more her own character. I feel there is so much potential to be exploited from exploring Felicia’s relationship.
Now in spite of all those complaints I actually loved this issue because of the Mary Jane subplot. There are some feelings I’m wrestling with in regards to it though but on balance I think this was ingenious on Spencer’s part.
Okay first thing’s first. The artwork by Michele Bandini looked really nice. If you are going to have two artists work on the same story dividing them up based upon the subplot and the main plot is actually a pretty clever idea. I didn’t know there was going to be two artists actually and so when I checked out the preview pages before the issue’s release I was confused as to why Ramos’ style looked so much better from one page into the next. I wish Bandini had done the whole story to be honest.
 But onto the subplot itself.
To begin with it’s just lovely seeing Spencer actually give MJ a subplot of her own and focus upon her. And it’s good focus too. So far he’s not really mishandled her in this story at all so Spencer seems to be a decent MJ writer. I hope this trend continues and the relative lack of Mj/his use of MJ within his first two arcs was more about building up Peter and also paying tribute to Superior Foes which landed him this job in the first place.
I didn’t see the Carlie twist coming. Honest of all characters that reveal could have been she was the farthest from my mind. For some reason my mind was fixated upon Bobby CCarr or Jonathan Caesar somehow.
 Now Carlie is...controversial of course.
Carlie was one of the many lame Brand New Day era characters with her status made worse than many of the other ones because
 a)      She was at times a Mary Sue
b)      She was pushed hard as the new love interest. I mean really, really, really pushed hard
c)       She had an inconsistent character design
d)      She was at times bland and at other times just...not nice. See her considering getting a Green Goblin tattoo to piss Peter off. Yes she was drunk but I don’t care how drunk or angry you are that’s like considering getting a Nazi tattoo to piss off your Jewish boyfriend. You are just nasty at that point
e)      She was an idiot during Superior despite being the most sceptical person of Otto
Carlie to say the least was HATED by the fandom.
Now look let’s not sit here and pretend the fandom hate went beyond what was warranted by the character. She was treated as an 11 on the ‘this character sucks’ scale.
But that doesn’t mean she didn’t score a very solid 7 or 8 if you catch my drift.
Here though she is arguably written better than ever before, not in the least because most of those problems listed above are being avoided or addressed.
Rather than being an overcritical and judgemental asshole like in her last appearance who either attributes blame to Peter for the horrible things happening to her or else makes it clear the nature of who he is means he’s doomed to misery because no one could put up with that, here she acknowledges none of it is his fault and he deserves happiness.
Spencer does drop his continuity ball though by listing off the wrong reason for why Peter and Calrie broke up. According to him Carlie couldn’t handle dating Spider-Man but in reality it was the fact that he was lying to her that was the problem.
Whatever though, nobody cares why Peter and Carlie broke up, so long as they did.
Similarly, if Spencer wants to try and rehabilitate the character who neglected to inform her ‘friend’ and roommate that she might be dating a villain without realizing it, okay let’s give him and this character a second chance. If Carlie wants to say she always liked MJ in spite of her douche actions lets draw a line under it and try again.
Now we move onto the meat of the subplot. The support group for superhero supporting cast members.
This idea gives me some mixed feelings and it somewhat depends upon how it  is handled going forward.
On the negative side, I do not want this to turn into a subtextually critical evaluation of how MJ handled life with a hero in a past or how older runs did. Also the story is somewhat ignoring how MJ DID have people she could talk to about this in the past, like Felicia and Aunt May. But currently neither character knows his secret, might not be finding out anytime soon so okay I guess I understand why Spencer is treating it this way.
I think Spencer’s putting in little lines of dialogue and presents a resistance within MJ to joining the group which makes it clear to us that, whilst Carlie felt alone and unsafe keeping Peter’s secret, MJ doesn’t feel quite like that even though it might be a struggle all the same.
Which is in character, remember she kept his secret for years beginning with AF #15. Similarly MJ has had issues opening up to people in the past and has seen first hand the cost of exposing Peter’s secret.
Now in spite of all I’ve said, I cannot tell you how much I ADORE the idea of a support group for super hero friends and family.
If Spencer plays this right it could wind up as one of the mainstays of the Marvel Universe’s architecture, like Night Nurse or what have you.
It just makes sense as a piece of world building for the Marvel Universe and is an emotionally engaging idea that ANY comic book series can pick up.
Moreover it highlights the innate quiet awesomeness that is Jarvis. Jarvis is like Alfred but to the whole Avengers and one of the most bad ass bad ass normals in the whole Marvel Universe so highlighting him as this proactive, helping and caring individual is appreciated.
This idea is a great addition to Peter and MJ’s relationship too as it gives Mj something to do aside from wait by a window and counters one of the most frequent weapons in the anti-MJ/marriage brigade’s arsenal.
“MJ can’t be with Peter because it’s worse than being with a cop because they get to talk to other cop’s families. It’s just so toxic for her!!!!11!!!”
See Fred Van Lente’s piece of shit MJ story in ASM #605 for proof of this.
But right here Spencer finds a solution to that complaint (which I’m sure the anti-MJ brigade just love  him for) and one that makes justifying breaking them up again a lot harder.
Also guessing who all the people in the meeting was turned out to be really fun.
Over all I loved this issue because in spite of my problems with the Felicia end of things the MJ end was brilliant.
p.s. Isn’t it a little weird for Spider-Man to not remember what ‘Spider-Man’ did when they were separate people?
I guess you could argue that his memories from ‘Peter’ might be hazy too. Or that this weird science comes with ‘rules’ like that, e.g. one side has to dominate the other.

For the sake of national interest(?)
Tumblr media
“I’m warning you, this is the first time. ‘Pag hindi niyo ginawa ang correction na diyan, one, I will terminate the Bases Visiting Forces Agreement.”
“I’m giving government and the American government one month from now. Mag-usap kami, paalisin ko sila sa Visiting Forces Agreement.”
Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte threaten the Washington DC to terminate the Visiting Forces Agreement in exchange to reverse the decision to cancel the visa Philippine Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa who earlier confirmed that his visa was denied upon entering US soil.
On the tweet on by his alter-ego on Foreign Affairs, Teddy Locsin Jr., he commended the statement of the Chief Architect of Foreign Policy following the statement questioning of whether the US are serious in PH-US military alliance or not and give it the discretion to the US Justice Department.
However, National Defence Secretary Delfin Lorenzana chose to isolate in making comments about this matter assured to review the said agreement.
However, it seeks the question of how is it connected in abridging to our national interest?
The thing is, after US President Donald Trump signed their 2020 Appropriations into law wherein the provisions in seeking to deny entry to the Philippine officials involved in the detention of Senator Leila Delima, DFA Chief Locsin said that it was part of “an aspect of sovereignty.”
Why such the President threw that rigorous threat to the matter concerning to our national security and interest in exchange to the public figure wherein the move was already recognized by his official as an act of sovereignty? Maybe, he was “personally” hurt since Dela Rosa was his top person in the implementation of his initiative War on Drugs which purely under fire of criticisms due to violation of human rights and deprivation of due process.
Or maybe he just gave up his patience and burst to his emotion seeing one of his allied are denied such opportunity.
Assuming that President’s statement is true (with any interpretation mechanics from Spokesperson Salvador Panelo), he already doesn’t know that what Article II, Section 6 of the 1987 Constitution said:
”x x x… In its relations with other states the paramount consideration shall be national sovereignty, territorial integrity, national interest and the right to self-determination.”
For extracting explanation, if the President wants terminate VFA it should reasonable when the national sovereignty, territorial integrity, national interest and right to self-determination are compromised already, not for the reason of one public figure’s situation.
What if we think out of the context of what he is saying?
Let’s say that it worth it to debate of whether Visiting Forces Agreement should be scrap or not, it may affect to our national security?
Let’s examine first its legality.
“Because it (VFA) is an executive agreement so he can cancel it without the approval of the Senate,” Panelo said in response to Duterte’s statement.
So the Philippines and the USA were entered into mutual agreement which produced of what-so called the Visiting Forces Agreement in reaffirmation Mutual Defence Treaty which both party entered in August 30, 1951. The VFA is an agreement which defines the treatment of US troops and personnel visiting the Philippines which provides the guidelines to govern such visits of military personnel, and further defines the rights of the US and Philippine government in the matter of criminal jurisdiction, movement of vessel and aircraft, importation and exportation of equipment, materials and supplies.
However, it can be valid since there is a mother treaty for it?
According to the UN Treaty Reference and the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treatises, that is allowed under international law that there will be a treaty under a treaty.
In short, the Visiting Forces Agreement is served as “Implementing Rules and Regulations” for a Mutual Defence Treaty.
The VFA was in seek to supersede the expired RP-US Military Bases Agreement in 1991 wherein the Philippines and US were both under the table to negotiate the possible extension of the presence of US Military Bases in the Philippines.
Way back in 1998, former President Joseph Estrada through his Foreign Affairs Secretary ratified the VFA after the series of negotiations and conferences in Manila last 1997 wherein former Chief Executive Fidel V. Ramos approved the said agreement.
In line with Article VII Section 21 of the 1987 Constitution, the approved VFA was transmitted to the Senate for ratification which took almost a year until it was officially entered into forced on June 1, 1999.
In landmark jurisprudence of Bayan vs Zamora (G.R. No. 138570 October 2000), the petitioners questioned the constitutionality of the VFA that it doesn’t line in Article XVIII, Section 25 and Article VII, Section 21, respectively.
Section 25, Article XVII, provides:
“After the expiration in 1991 of the Agreement between the Republic of the Philippines and the United States of America concerning Military Bases, foreign military bases, troops or facilities shall not be allowed in the Philippines except under a treaty duly concurred in by the Senate and, when the Congress so requires, ratified by a majority of votes cast by the people in a national referendum held for that purpose, and recognized as a treaty by the other contracting State.”
The Highest Court ruled that VFA is not unconstitutional since the VFA was complied with the requisites given by the Article XVII Section 25 and it was ratified via Article XVII Section 21 of the 1987 Constitution.
Hence, it is recognized by the Supreme Court as “treaty” not as mere “executive agreement”
But, the Constitution is silent of what is manner of termination of treaty despite its legal capacity to ratify into it which vested to the Senate. And I confidently that the Supreme Court, the Highest Court of the land, is in need to establish the precedence including its pending withdrawal from the International Criminal Court.
With the question of its worthiness, we can rely on the efforts of Defence Secretary Lorenzana who pushing the initiative to have collaboration review on the VFA and to change some provisions on it with the observance of both national interest.
The technical and equipment assistance in alleviating and countering terrorism in Mindanao was the product of VFA including the neutralization of international terrorist Zulkifli Marwan by means of military training and equipment.
In addition, the balikatan exercises was produced by VFA.
There are questions of commitment and seriousness of Washington DC and we can’t deny that, but still it should be solve bilaterally not unilaterally and not for the prior interest for a figure.

Alum part of team to discover Pensacola Bay shipwreck site
Tumblr media
NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University alumnus Dillon Roy was part of a team of student/staff field archaeologists from the University of West Florida that discovered a shipwreck near Pensacola, Florida, last year.
Roy, a graduate student, was among the divers who discovered the ship, referred to as Emanuel Point III, covered with sand in seven feet of water.  The ship was part of a fleet that in 1559 brought Conquistador Don Tristan de Luna and his army to what is now suburban Pensacola, site of the first European settlement in the United States. Most of that fleet sank during a hurricane that struck the coast shortly after Luna’s arrival.
The Emanuel Point Shipwreck Site, Florida’s oldest, was first discovered in 1992 when the Florida Bureau of Archaeological Research conducted an underwater inventory of Pensacola Bay and searchers located the remains of a Spanish galleon. Experts suspected that other vessels from the Luna fleet were submerged in the bay and located EP II in 2006. EP III was discovered about 200 meters from shore, which could indicate it was a small vessel and possibly one of the earliest ships built in the New World.
Roy was one of the divers who returned to the surface with artifacts in their hands. The team from the UWF archaeology program discovered ballast stones, iron concretions, an articulated hull of the ship with frames and hull planking and remnants of ceramics carried on the ship.
“I'm currently working on my master’s degree in historical archaeology focusing on maritime archaeology at UWF,” Roy said.  “I've been diving since January 2013. When I got out to the maritime portion of field school as a supervisor last summer I had heard that we had a substantial hit from a previous magnetometer survey and that some of the target dives that followed had yielded a few possible pieces of ballast stone. No excavations had been conducted on the possible new site however though.”
When the team investigated the area, the first dive team installed a 1 x 1-meter square grid for a test unit.  Dive two’s team, consisting of Roy, UWF maritime archaeology professor Dr. Greg Cook and field school student Rick Ramos, went down with a dredge to begin excavating the test unit.
“Shortly into dredging we uncovered ship structure, confirming that we did indeed have a new wreck,” Roy said.  “I think the most thrilling thing about the discovery for me was realizing just how big of a deal this was and that I got to be a part of it. I never imagined that as a grad student that I would be involved with something this incredible.”
Roy, a native of Baton Rouge, graduated from NSU in 2014 with a degree in general studies with a concentration in social sciences and a double minor in anthropology and English.
“I would in no way be where I am today in my studies had it not been for the instruction and mentoring of NSU anthropology and archaeology professors Dr. Pete Gregory and Dr. Tommy Hailey,” he said.
Luna, the conquistador, and about 1,500 soldiers, colonists, slaves and Aztec Indians traveled in 11 ships from Veracruz, Mexico, to Pensacola. Three shipwrecks still remain undiscovered in the bay, but the UWF team possibly found another one, or even all three, based on a few of the magnetic anomalies detected last year. UWF students divided into two groups and excavated the bay for 11 weeks.
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers approved a permit for the UWF team to conduct test excavations through March 2017 to determine the extent of the shipwreck and the type of wood used to build the ship.
A Florida Division of Historical Resources’ special category grant for $290,000 funded part of the excavation. The matching grant awarded to UWF in 2014 provided funding for faculty, staff and students to conduct fieldwork, laboratory analysis, artifact conservation and curation, archival research in Spain and public outreach for two years. UWF will apply for similar grants in the future to fund further excavations.

The Champions Gain A Leader While Winking At Inhumans vs. X-Men
SPOILER WARNING: This article contains spoilers for “Champions” #4, which is on sale now.
Last month’s issue of “Champions” took the teen team far away from their New York City-area meet-up spot to the fictional South Asian country of Sharzad. After helping local women form a resistance movement against a terrorist cell, the Champions charted a course for home in their reconfigured spy plane — only to be shot down over the ocean.
RELATED: Marvel’s Champions Start A Global Movement In Real-World Inspired Issue
“Champions” #4 from Mark Waid and Humberto Ramos picks up the action right where the previous issue left off, as the team scrambles to land their plane safely — or as safely as they can — in the ocean. After much debate in previous issues about which Champion should serve as team leader, Ms. Marvel instinctively slides into the role during the crisis and delegates life-saving tasks to the team. Spider-Man and Viv keep the fuselage together while Nova serves as a replacement engine and Hulk holds onto the wing. Ms. Marvel then tosses the job of flying the wrecked ship to Cyclops.

Scott notes that “piloting runs in my family,” a reference to his father, the pilot-turned-space-pirate Christopher “Corsair” Summers. Cyclops and the rest of the Champions manage to land the plane safely on the water, leading to a brief moment of calm. The team decides what to do next, which leads to Cyclops and Ms. Marvel giving the same order at the same time.

Clearly their leadership skills and instincts have some overlap.
Later, Ms. Marvel has a chat with Cyclops as he uses his concussive eye beams to propel the downed ship. Kamala commends Cyclops’ piloting skills, and then alludes to the big X-Men event that’s going on right now in other books.

“So…I’m an Inhuman, and you’re a mutant,” says Kamala. “And everyone says we’re supposed to be at each other’s throats. But that feels crazy.” Cyclops adds that he likes her as a teammate and friend, and Kamala reciprocates. No need for this Inhuman to “versus” this mutant.
Of course the two are talking around the big Inhumans vs. X-Men war that’s currently unfolding in the pages of “IvX.” In that series, the X-Men have made a preemptive strike against the Inhumans in order to succeed in their goal of destroying the Inhuman Terrigen cloud. While exposure to that cloud gave the presumably human Kamala Khan super powers years ago, it now kills mutants that it comes into contact with. With the cloud on the verge of dispersing into the atmosphere, rendering all of Earth’s air deadly to mutants, the X-Men have taken steps to destroy it. That doesn’t sit right with the Inhumans, as the cloud is part of their tradition and the means with which new Inhumans are given powers.
But all that’s playing out in other books; right now, Ms. Marvel and Cyclops are friends, working together on the Champions. It is worth pointing out that Kamala and Scott both appear on upcoming covers for “IvX,” which implies that this truce may not last.
Eventually, the Champions’ ship runs afoul of the very people that shot them down: the undersea army of an Atlantean colony. Mistaking the heroes for spies (because of their spy plane), the Atlanteans take the team hostage in their water-filled vessel. As the team plots their escape, Kamala once again instinctively takes the lead — but she checks with Scott first.

Scott’s advice? “Listen to our leader” — meaning Kamala. It looks like after a few issues of nearly every Champion claiming to be the leader, at least two members of the team agree that Ms. Marvel deserves the role. And, considering that she got the team out of two jams in one issue, it looks like she knows how to do the job.
Of course whatever unity the team has found over the course of this adventure could be upended next month. As Kamala reminds us on the last page of the issue, the team has said that “anyone who wants change in this world can call themself a Champion.” Kamala wasn’t counting on the unbelievable Gwenpool wrapping a Champions cape around her neck…
“Champions” #4 interior art by Humberto Ramos, Victor Olazaba and Edgar Delgado
“Champions” #5 — co-starring Gwenpool — arrives in stores on February 1.

Hello, hello
Well I'm surprised that there aren't any FF on Will Ramos (Lorna Shore) and Vessel (Sleep Token) so I made moodboards. Because I'm not able to write anything.
But if someone would write something please PLEASE send me a link 🔥
!UPDATE!
Me and my friend have been thinking about the ship name and we agreed on VessWill
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
PS: There's one scenario in my head:
(English is not my mother language)
Will lies on his back and allows himself to be penetrated by Vessel. As Will begins to reach orgasm, he reaches out his hand towards Vessel and tries to remove his mask. At that moment, Vesell grabs Will roughly by the neck and squeezes hard. "What did I tell you?" Vessel hisses venomously, but his voice remains calm, which frightens Will. But not as much as the oxygen running out of his lungs.
"You can't have everything. You wanted to taste the forbidden fruit. You do. But beware, this fruit has worms in it. Don't try anything like that again. Understood?" With that he loosens his grip on Will's neck and starts thrusting hard. He doesn't even wait for Will's response, which soon comes in the form of a moan. "Yes, my God."
