TWST’s Magic Mirror

Wait a minute. I was lowkey having a mental breakdown (cater vibes) until I realized something about the Dark Mirror- or specifically what Crowley said about magestones that may change what we know about the Dark Mirror.

The magestone is the figurative heart of ANY magical artifact…Crowley says this in the prologue as response to the broken chandelier. Hm? ANY magical artifact? Including the Dark Mirror?

And suddenly, it clicked.

See, I’ve had these photos saved for a while, because I knew something was wrong with the Magic Mirror and Dark Mirror. They didn’t look alike, despite having similar powers and appearance. And for now, I’m still assuming that the Dark Mirror IS the Magic Mirror, just a little twisted. After all, I feel like if it was a replica, it would’ve been mentioned at least once.

About a month ago, I took the time to read through all the chats, and what Rook and Vil claim about the Magic Mirror confused me even more

Hm?? They mention in the chats AND in Book 5 TWICE about “IF the Magic mirror still existed.” The mirror is clearly respected, and Pomefiore knows a lot of lore about the Evil Queen, like her apple trees, the well, the robes.

And yet could they not realize that the Magic Mirror is literally the Dark Mirror…unless it’s been tampered with that no one recognizes it as THE original?

See, what clicked to me is the missing red gems from the Dark Mirror. I knew these were missing, but I never realized what this meant until today. Those gems must have been the Dark Mirror’s MAGESTONES, Aka it’s figurative heart. Look at the Dark Mirror and at the sides where the gemstones would be: there’s clearly an empty socket/space. As if…someone stolen the mirrors “heart”. It’s why the frame of the Dark Mirror looks so faded- the magic was seeped away from the entire artifact.

And since magical artifacts have magestones, could let “Overblot” too? The idea of an object Overblotting sounds silly, but the Dark Mirror isn’t just any artifact. The Magic mirror from Snow White canon has a spirit inside (or multiple if you like my “Meleanor is trapped in the mirror” theories haha). And from a 1950s brochure on Snow White, it specified that the spirit used to be the Evil Queen’s familiar demon.

So if it has a soul, it can Overblot too, yes?

And as we know from the Spectral Soirée, the Dark Mirror specifically can be manipulated to do some incredibly powerful magic- even host another world inside. Perhaps someone (cough Crowley) forced the magic mirror to do something impossibly powerful? Like permanently another soul (Meleanor)? Or perhaps create a “mirror” world inside it, like Twisted Wonderland?? Or does the Magic Mirror’s gems have a hidden power to them?

Speculation aside, I found even more odd was in an interview with the TWST voice actors, they all showed up in person- except for Malleus’ VA who “wasn’t invited.” And interestingly enough, they used the MAGIC Mirror for Malleus to speak though. See how it’s golden and it has those three red gems? Why would TWST bother with remaking the Hall of Mirrors background just for an interview?

But then I had ANOTHER realization. In the first Anniversary TWST animation, it opened up with Grim walking through a mysterious hallway, which I’ve talked about before. That theory is a bit wishywashy haha, but the point is, the camera focuses on a frame of…the MAGIC mirror. Although it’s barely visible, you can see the golden details and the red gem at the bottom.

The TWST creators didn’t have to remake the Hall of Mirrors background for the voice actor interview at all. They already have this image prepared in their files- with a clear distinction between the Magic Mirror and the Dark Mirror.

…This was a huge rabbit hole haha ∑(ﾟДﾟ) But there’s something to unlock from this case, I just know it!!!

You can't finish an assignment because there was an error, you never learned about this! You don't remember having these lessons! Why in Wonderland would the teacher put this in, a lesson that most of the class aren't even aware of? But despite everything, you still climb lengths to finish that. Who knows, It could be an extra point for your grades.

You walk around the library, trying to find the book for the assignment so you can study for a while, When Floyd suddenly just appears from behind and drags you to Octavinelle.

Here you are, In Azul's VIP room. You already go here multiple times, you're just wondering why they would drag you here. "Please explain why you had to interrupt me." You sigh. "Well~ I heard that you were having a hard time with an assignment that the teacher did not teach." Azul crosses his legs. "And? Your point is?" You coldly say. "Now now, My dear. Don't be harsh, I just simply wanted to readdress the issue~"

You look at him, raising an eyebrow as you wait for him to continue on.

"So how about you sign a contract in order to finish difficult assignments as soon as possible?"

You almost spit the water that you were drinking out of your mouth the moment you heard the word 'contract.' You swallow the water, Soft coughs escaping your throat. You clear your throat. "You only brought me here to sign a contract?!"

"Wellll, It's not only that, I brought you here for tons of things." Azul shrugs, placing down the paper on the desk and sliding it infront of you. "Azul you-" You sigh, putting two fingers at the bridge of your nose. "..Fine, What's the catch?"

"Ah, Simple; It's nothing-"

"Nope. Not signing that."

"Aw, But why is that, My love?" Azul tilts his head to the side teasingly. "I don't believe you when you say there's no disadvantage. There is no way." You cross your arms and look away. "No but my love," You hear his chair move a bit, as a hand lifts your head up to look at him directly in the eyes.

"You, are a special case. Those other poor unfortunate souls may suffer with the assignment, but I do not want you to fail this one." Azul whispers. You stare at him. Are you falling for his tricks? Maybe, but there are some little parts of you that can fight back.

"Azul, we both remember what happened the last time you said there wasn't any catch. Clearly, You used magic to get rid of the disbenefit in the contract." You trace your finger around the paper. "Yes, I have remembrance of that, but the student was a fool. You are the love of my life, why would I do the same for you?"

Then again, Azul has proved his love to you.. Many.. Many times. "Azul, You do know you could just teach me the assignment, right?" You look at him, He walks around his desk, towards you. "My love, You are just adorable. I didn't say just one specific assignment. I said any assignments for whatever you'll struggle at."

Your eyes looks at his hand that was holding yours tightly, he raises your hand closer to his lips, Pressing it softly at the back of your hand. "Azul, that's technically cheating.." You whisper. "Love, What's cheating is that almost everybody in this prestigious school goes to me. To get help instead of studying, yet the Headmage does nothing about it."

"Can you guys get a room? It's sickening seeing you guys act like this infront of me." Floyd says in the background, You and Azul look at Floyd, Who was laying on the couch, occupying the space with his feet resting on the arm of the couch.

"How about you get out instead." You both reply. You had a cold tone, But on the other hand, Azul had a calm one.

Floyd only grunts, standing up and walking out of the room, He closes the door. Well that was easy, usually Floyd would be a menace and stay even if he was commanded to leave.

"Back to what I was saying.. My love, if you really want to have a catch for your safety, I'll make one. How about.."

Azul tucks your hair behind your ear. His fingers send a shiver down your spine as he traces your jawline and stopping at your chin, lifting your head up using a finger. "..You are to kiss me when I tell you to do so?"

"Azul,"

"What seems to be the matter, My love?"

You stare at him in disbelief. "Are you trying to find a way to kiss me as much as to your liking?"

"Hm, Maybe, Maybe not. Take a guess~"

"I think yes." You guess. "Bingo."

You sigh. "I don't see the point of me signing this." Azul raises his eyebrow in amusement. "Love, if your worried that I would take advantage of this, I won't. It would take me getting stuck in millions of nets to take advantage of it."

To be honest, You're surprised he's even that determined to help you. If you kiss him, Of course. Are you gonna sign it like a foolish person? Yes.

You look at his ear, a pen hanging on it. You raise your hand near his ear and take the pen, deciding to sign the contract. Your signature almost makes Azul just want to take marriage papers and make you sign it.

"Contract done! See?~ No harm done." Azul slides the paper aside, taking the pen in your hands and puts it on the desk. He gently grabs your chin. "Give me a kiss."

By command, You follow his order.

Your lips press against his. He stops the kiss, a soft 'mwa' sound coming out of his mouth. "There we go, It works." Azul chuckles. "..Azul, Hon. I feel like I can survive fourth year knowledge."

"It works well~" He repeats. "Well, Now that we got that out of the way, how about we go get us smoothies in the Mostro Lounge?" He asks. "Just the two of us?" You ask.

"Just the two of us. Floyd can just stand at the side, but he won't bother us." You stand up from the seat, Azul's fingers interlocking with yours. "Hm, I suppose this isn't that bad after all."

"See? Told you~ I would never put your life at stake." Azul states, dragging you along.

"Of course you wouldn't.. You care for me so much you'd let Floyd eat the mushrooms Jade comes in the dorm with."

"If I were to save one, it'd be you."

hello i am once again thinking about grim, and by extension the heartslabyul duo because if there’s anything else that lives in my head rent-free it’s how the main four are as close as friends as they are throughout the entire game so far.

(help this ramble became longer than i intended)

-> i know it's a pattern that the previous dorms help out in the next book which means once book 7 ends, we’re assuming book 8 would be about ramshackle(?). which means it’s diasomnia’s turn to have a big role in the following dorm. -> but it got me thinking. throughout the books, heartslabyul (specifically adeuce) is always present somehow. no matter how much screen time they actually have and how relevant they are to the conflict at that time. (actually i think something similar could be said with diasomnia but i want to focus mainly on adeuce) -> throughout the books, we're just set up with how good of friends the four are. the prologue, books 1 and 2 start to develop the four's chemistry together, and by book 3 we get one of the first signs that yuu cares about these three to the point they're willing to risk it because their dumbasses decided to sign a deal with azul. -> in book 4, while adeuce didn't have much involvement, i believe twst JUST hammers home that all four of them are friends friends. we are shown how ace and deuce went through all the trouble of transportation DURING THE HOLIDAYS because they thought yuu and grim were in trouble. like they could've easily just went "hey it must have been nothing" but they were worried enough to go check on them, not even thinking that someone else could've had handled it already.

-> since the pattern was that the previous dorm helps the next dorm, why does it seem like in book 5 it seems that heartslabyul, or at least, adeuce has as much of a big role as scarabia? the scarabia duo was there to notice the signs with vil but it was deuce who dealt the last blow to him. (honestly i don't remember much but i don't know how much help scarabia even helped pomefiore other than being in vdc hhh) -> so then it made me think, huh. it's like twst is setting up that these two will be more important than we think and will definitely not be going away soon. -> and then THE END OF BOOK 6. ouughh the end of book 6. their reunion just solidified for me how much they all care about each other. adeuce were not prompted by a direct "we're in trouble, help us" text this time. they just found out yuu and grim were somewhere in danger and it agonized them that they could do nothing about it but wait and hope they're safe. -> book 7 finally we're back to finding out ways to help yuu get home. and since they're all admittedly close friends (dare i say found family) at this point without explicitly stating it, i get the vibes of "we'll help you get home because we care about you but we're not going to think about the depressing possibility we might never see each other ever again".

-> so very abrupt transition;;; this led me to thinking about the overall “alice in wonderland” theme throughout twst. -> is that why adeuce has been with us this entire time? to remind us of that theme? we are in twisted wonderland after all. (I'm not really sure about the thought of yuu being alice but it's an interesting one to consider too) -> to tie in more with the alice in wonderland theme, i'm briefly going to go back to diasomnia. in book 7, there's like a theme of dreams. in fact, throughout the game it was all about dreams and visions and stuff. and in book 7 we're just diving into it. -> and in the story of alice in wonderland, there seems to be the implication that everything that happened in wonderland was just based on a crazy dream that alice had. like we don't know if anything was ever real. (i'm not really a fan of the "it's all a dream" twist but the connections got the gears in my brain turning) (also mickey must be relevant too but i have no thoughts about the implications of his existence at the moment 💀) -> i know we're not done with diasomnia's book but it seems to be set up as a catalyst for something bigger along the line (thinking about the possibility that there is even something bigger than a malleus overblot is very wild to say the least)

-> SO ANOTHER abrupt transition but still related, i thought about the parallel between the "overblot grim" in the beginning of the game and the "jabberwock(y)" in alice in wonderland. they're both chimera-like creatures that are like the final bosses or something. -> and what if a way for yuu to "go home" is to "slay" the jabberwocky (or in this case the overblot grim) just like in the story of alice in wonderland / through the looking glass. -> there's theories i believe that ace is set up to be some kind of "trump card" based on his name and the fact his unique magic isn't revealed yet. but also i want to add deuce in there too remembering how he held a big role in stopping vil in book 4 like some kind of foreshadowing. -> maybe the main role diasomnia will have is only about all these dream shenanigans. and i'd like to think instead that at the end of the day, this conflict with an overblotted grim is ultimately between our main four. some representations based off alice in wonderland. -> going full circle, is this why we have been shown so much of the friendship between all four of them? to establish this possible eventual conflict? and to make it harder for us to choose about "going home"? do we even get the choice?

do we "slay" the jabberwocky or will we decide to stay in this seemingly dreamlike fantasy wonderland instead?

ROUND 1, MATCH 26

NO MAGIC, POWERS, OR WEAPONS

Dr. Coomer:

“i… don’t think he would win.”

“HELLO, GORDON!”

Floyd Leech:

“If he stays in human form and has no mage stones, he's just Some Guy, so he still qualifies. This mafia motherfucker would FIGHT. One time when faced with a monster, everyone else was like "oh no, we need magic" and he was like "nah, let's punch it" and then he DID. He hasn't used his pointy teeth in canon yet, but he could in theory bite someone if necessary, and it would hurt like a bitch. He'd fight dirty, I just know it. Let him punch everything and then get punched in the face, it'd be so great.”

“This guy is a menace who almost never uses weapons or tools to terrorize people. He's strong and athletic, smart enough to get what he wants on a whim, and squeezes contract-breakers until they faint on a regular basis.”

“NOTE: Floyd is a magic boy, but the “no mage stone” thing is there because it means he won’t be able to use magic, because people in Twisted Wonderland can’t without accumulating deadly magic toxin unless they have the stones. He’s also a merman, but he’d be in his human form. His human form does have pointy teeth (like the anime character kind) but I’m not sure if they have any real effect in game other than to intimidate people. Other people in this game have them too who are allegedly ��human.” And again, plenty of “human” anime characters have them. Myfeeling is that they shouldn’t be disqualifying on their own. This game is about magic boys at a magic school, but don’t worry, they get into traditional fist-fights so often it’s literally a randomly generated event that can happen in your Guest Room space. And Floyd Leech would never use magic in a fist-fight. He’d think that was “no fun” or “totally lame.” His signature magical spell just nullifies other people’s magic that targets him… so he can fight them with his fists. Since no one else here has magic, it’s totally irrelevant. Also I’m not sure he uses fists so much as he does something to his opponents that he describes as “squeezing” them. I don’t know entirely what he means by that when he’s in his human form, but how much it scares the faceless NPC students indicates to me that he’s found a way to make it work. I do know it’s supposed to have a whole mafia vibe to it. Because his dad (and his childhood friend he lowkey sort-of works for) have real mafia boss energy. And Floyd’s basically decided that if he’s going to do this mafia shtick it’s Capo or bust. Floyd doesn’t always feel like doing stuff, due to his wildly unpredictable mood swings, but it honestly seems like the thing he can most easily be convinced to do is beat the shit out of people. During the “Beanfest” event (which was somewhat analogous to a paintball match), he insisted on throwing his weapon away and beating up aforementioned childhood friend even though the game was over and he’d already lost, just because apparently “once Floyd has decided to fight nothing can be done about it" and you just have to fight him if you want to get on with the rest of your day. He’d started out that event “not really in the mood” but somehow ended up spending the entire day beating the hell out of every person he ran into. In the camping event, when all of the boys were being picked off by a monster in the woods one at a time and were panicking because they didn’t have magestones or cellphones and therefore couldn’t defend themselves with magic or call an adult for help, Floyd was literally just like “why don’t we just beat the shit out of it?” And then he DID. And it was awesome. But before you think he’s just some sort of dumb thug, let me assure you that Floyd is actually one of Night Raven’s most intelligent students. He has a photographic memory and can create valuable gems in alchemy class with minimal effort. Unfortunately, his mood swings make it impossible for him to maintain a decent GPA. But he’s actually a smart, tactical fighter. He’s just violent and unstable. Oh and if you’re wondering, his personality is generally abrasive and confrontational. He regularly starts arguments with the most volatile people at the school, just to mess with them and see where it goes because he’s bored. Finally, if it sweetens the deal for anyone, Floyd would wear some killer designer shoes to this fight. Don’t worry, they wouldn’t be dangerous/weaponized. They’d just be expensive and custom made. You know, so he can get upset when someone scuffs them up. Like for real, is there anyone who deserves to be in a crazy bitch fist-fight more than a moody mafia prince who’s secretly some sort of genius, but seems to only truly love fighting and designer footwear? If there is, I can’t think of them. ”

Do you think that Malleus would’ve had a different/harsher reaction to someone other than Silver being “awake”?

Also on a less serious note, that entire interaction gave me the vibes of an older sibling getting mad at a younger sibling for playing a game “wrong” which is odd bc I don’t really see Malleus and Silver as having that dynamic usually. I doubt it was purposeful but it was all that was running through my mind when reading the translations.

On the contrary, I feel like Malleus is madder that it's Silver who is "awake" and openly defying him than if it were anyone else doing it. (Yes, Yuu and Grim are also present but it is Silver and Silver alone who willfully turns down Malleus's manipulative tactics to get him to stay there in bliss and also "wakes" Sebek to join his cause.) I still think Malleus would be upset and try to force anyone else that was awake back into a slumber (as we see with Malleus attacking Silver, Sebek, Yuu, and Grim at the end of part 3 update), but the fact that it's Silver confronting him hits a particular nerve.

Firstly, Silver is someone that Malleus has known for years (even if it's a relationship of a prince and his knight), so it hurts close to home that this person with whom Malleus shares a bond with is disagreeing with him on such a big issue. It feels like a betrayal, especially considering that knights are supposed to be loyal to their masters. And even more importantly, Silver has also known Lilia--the character that triggered Malleus's initial anxieties regarding loneliness and the loss of loved ones--for years as well. In this way, they are all connected in a “found family” sense. Of all people, Silver should be the one who understands how Malleus is feeling and would theoretically support him, yet Silver instead denies and actively opposes Malleus's way of thinking, calling it "just a bad dream". Consider also that Silver rarely, if ever, raises his voice--so when he does yell, it's significant and big deal. Yeah, he'll raise his volume to like, call out for Malleus if he's looking for the young master, but Silver does not usually shout to the point where his voice breaks. The only other instance I can think of when Silver gets legitimately upset and yells is during Endless Halloween Night when he was concerned about the safety of Malleus and Lilia and also rightfully mad that it turned out to be an elaborate trick. The second instance is here and now, in book 7. In the scene where Silver rejects the happiness of being able to stay in his childhood home in the forest with Lilia forever and ever, he becomes a foil character to Malleus, the metaphorical light to his darkness. Both Silver and Malleus have a personal connection with Lilia and are deeply saddened by Lilia's departure (and potential death). The difference between them is that Silver is accepting it as an inevitability even if it hurts his feelings and he'll miss his father greatly... whereas Malleus stubbornly refuses to accept it. At that moment, Malleus is looking at a "mirror" (a common motif in Twisted Wonderland) of himself, at someone who IS able to deal with reality, no matter how cruel or harsh it is to them or what joy reality deprives them of. They are both fiercely demonstrating their love for Lilia in just as fierce(ly) opposing ways.

Here is Silver, staring his master right in the face and declaring that the dream Malleus is forcing on them is twisted and wrong, and that he won't have Malleus violating the final request Lilia made to them: to see him off with a smile. This dream isn't what Silver's father wanted, so he's willing to defy even his lord and make himself go through saying good-bye to Lilia to see that the wish is fulfilled. The nature of Silver’s UM even stands in direct opposition to Malleus’s. Silver is, quite literally, the sword to Malleus (the dragon).

WHAT'S CRAZY IS YOU CAN HEAR SILVER'S VOICE CRACKING BEFORE HE REJECTS THE DREAM'S VERY TEMPTING OFFER. Silver even confesses that he would like nothing more than to take Lilia's hand and to live out the rest of their lives together. It would be so, so, SO easy for him to embrace this convenient world where all his dreams come true and his father never leaves. But Silver would rather take the hard route and live "awake" being aware of life's difficulties and experiencing pain than live in denial and blissful ignorance (a route which Malleus has chosen to pursue). That's the thing with book 7; Malleus may technically BE "awake", but in reality he's (metaphorically) still dreaming, because he's constantly averting his eyes away from the truth, from reality, and from genuinely "waking".

... Anyway, that was all to say that I think Malleus is more upset that it's Silver--someone whom he has an established relationship and extensive history with, someone who is so alike him yet also different in very glaringly obvious ways--opposing him instead of another person.

Not-So-Berry (Taylor’s Version)

I have loved Taylor Swift and the Sims for as long as I can remember so I thought that combining them only made sense! Here is my spin on Not-So-Berry but make it swiftie! A little side note before we get into it! Summary - You attend the Yule Ball alone, feeling a mix of excitement and loneliness amidst the grandeur of the event. Your secret crush, Professor Lupin, approaches you with a playful offer of a chocolate, then invites you to dance on a moonlit balcony.

Note - I felt like writing something cheesy. This is totally something that would never happen but it's ok to dream OK? Also, I was trying to convey a "music from another room" kind of vibe and in my head, the song playing is Good Looking by Suki Waterhouse.

Warnings - teacher/student (of age), kissing, fluff.

The Yule Ball was in full swing in the Great Hall. The room was transformed into a winter wonderland, with enchanted snowflakes gently falling from the ceiling and twinkling stars casting a warm, golden glow on the students below. Yet, in the midst of all the splendor, you felt as though you were in your own world, isolated from everyone else. It's not that you hated being alone. In fact, you had even decided to come to the ball alone. But at that moment, you were secretly hoping you had someone to share the magical evening with.

You sat alone at an empty table in the dimly lit corner of the Great Hall, lost in your own thoughts when a gentle voice caught your attention.

"Would you like a kiss, Y/N?" the warm voice inquired.

Startled, you looked up and found yourself staring into the kind eyes of Professor Lupin, your heart fluttering in your chest. In his hand, he held a small, silver-wrapped Hershey's Kiss chocolate. The corners of his mouth curled into a warm smile, and his eyes twinkled with mischief.

Your face flushed a deep shade of red as you laughed nervously. You kind of hoped he had not been talking about chocolate this time. You reached out and took the chocolate, your fingers brushing against his.

"Thank you, Professor," you stammered, your voice barely above a whisper. You couldn't even bring yourself to look at him, it was too much.

"Now, I don't suppose you'd like to join me for a dance?" he asked, extending his hand.

You hesitated. You felt like you were about to combust and your knees could no longer be trusted to support you.

"How about we dance outside? The night is lovely," he added, sensing your hesitation.

Your heart raced, but you decided to take his hand. He led you outside onto a balcony overlooking the snow-covered grounds of Hogwarts, the moonlight casting a silvery glow on the scene. The music from the Great Hall could still be heard, reaching you as a distant, dreamy melody.

As his hands found a secure yet gentle hold around your waist, he led you in a slow waltz, pulling you close to him. His touch was soft and gentle, and you could feel the warmth radiating from his body. He seemed to move effortlessly, swaying you gracefully to the rhythm of the music.

When the song came to an end, his eyes met yours, and you stood there for a moment, your breaths mingling in the crisp night air. He gently draped his cloak around your shoulders. You had not even realized you were shivering. The fabric was soft and warm, carrying the faint scent of cedarwood, old books, and something distinctly Lupin - a mixture of earthiness and a hint of sweet chocolate. The protective gesture made you feel safe and comforted.

You felt your cheeks burn as he leaned in closer, his face mere inches from yours. You could see every detail of his features, from the lines of laughter around his eyes to the faint scars that crisscrossed his face. You could feel the gentle rise and fall of his chest. His scent was intoxicating, and you found yourself unable to look away.

"Y/N," he whispered softly, his voice barely audible, "you didn't answer me earlier. Would you like a kiss?" This time, there was no chocolate in his hand.

The atmosphere around you seemed to still as if time itself had stopped to witness this moment. The air was thick with anticipation, and your heart felt as though it might burst out from your chest.

As his warm breath grazed your skin, you could feel your pulse quicken with anticipation. He moved in cautiously, his eyes studying your expression for any sign of uncertainty. Finding none, he gently cradled your face in his hands, his touch as tender as a whisper. His thumbs stroked your cheeks softly, and you found yourself leaning into his touch, drawn to him like a moth to a flame.

He hesitated for a moment, his eyes searching yours, seeking permission to cross the line between professor and student. You nodded, ever so slightly, giving him the reassurance he needed.

Slowly, almost reverently, he leaned in, closing the remaining distance. His lips brushed against yours tentatively at first. The roughness of his stubble against your skin was electrifying. Your breath hitched in your throat as you responded to the kiss, your own hands reaching up to rest on his chest.

Emboldened by your reaction, he deepened the kiss, his lips moving against yours with more urgency. His hands moved from your face, tracing a path down your neck and shoulders, coming to rest on your waist. His touch was gentle, yet firm, as he pulled you closer, your bodies pressed together.

He tilted his head slightly, his lips parting to explore the delicate contours of your mouth. His tongue traced your lower lip, seeking permission to enter, and you granted it. The heat between your bodies was almost unbearable, yet neither of you wanted to break away.

The kiss was a delicate balance of passion and restraint, your actions fueled by the knowledge that you were both sharing a secret part of yourselves. It felt like a promise, a connection that transcended the boundaries of time and space.

As you finally broke apart, you met his gaze, his eyes searching yours for any sign of regret. But all he found was desire and a newfound intimacy that you knew was forbidden, yet intoxicating.

Fantasy High Junior-Year Mini-Playlist

It's blizzarding where I am, so I've decided it's the perfect time to post my first Fantasy High NPC playlist. Lucy has been captivating my little theorist mind for weeks now, and God, I have so many feelings about her. A lot of the situations that I have this playlist highlighting are very much headcanons/theories about who she was, her relationships, and the events leading up to her death. (also, they are all winter-themed. None of them are explicitly "holiday," but one is holiday adjacent, as it comes from Sufjan Steven's holiday album and is inspired by Christmas, though it is instrumental)

Vashti Bunyan is a name in folk that you need to know. She's 79, and she's still writing amazingly gorgeous music. This one comes from my personal winter solstice mix that I've had since high school, so every year when wintertime rolls around, this song is always one that I am vibing to. I think the way it gets at this really soft sadness is perfect for lucy and how she worked with her goddess.

2. If Winter Ends, Bright Eyes

I dreamt of a fever one that would cure me of this cold, winter-set heart With heat to melt these frozen tears burned with reasons as to carry on Into these twisted months I plunge without a light to follow But I swear that I would follow anything Just get me out of here

Ok, this ties into a theory I have. We were only told a few things about Lucy in her introduction but one of the things that was reiterated several times by Brennan as Yolanda Badgood was that she was deeply sad/depressed. And part of that comes with the territory of her god, Ruvina, whose domain includes sadness, coldness, and winter.

Lucy, before her death, tries to switch her god (whether of her own volition or not) to Ankarna. Ankarna, as we found out, is a sibling of Ruvina and a Summer god, which might also put them originally as a god of joy and warmth- acting as a foil to Ruvina's sadness. So maybe part of the motivation that Lucy had to switch gods was to find something that could bring her out of her depression.

What confirms this to me is that in the d20 mid-season recap, after they show Kristen talking with Yolanda about Lucy, they end it with a clip of Ally as Kristen."Was it to something more positive?"

3. Winter Wonderland, Animal Collective

Diasomnia spoilers (7-3 / 7-19) but it's a mess

because the update dropped at midnight for me and and I haven't sleep much since Friday hahaha 🌻

I translated 7-1 and 7-2 fully so I'm skipping that for now

Lilia spent the previous night playing games with his online friend, he overslept and was running towards the apprenticeship orientation meeting because he was late

He scolds Silver for not waking him up, but Silver says that he did try. 3 times. But Lilia is too hard to wake up in the mornings.

Malleus and Lilia have to go to the orientation, Malleus tells Yuu that they can visit him to ask more about Maleficent. The NPCs wonder why he even bothered to attend NRC since he doesn't need it, they're afraid of him.

The Third years are all assembled to discuss their options/chosen apprenticeships

Trey: something related to agriculture

Cater: entertainment field

Vil: he's interested in alchemy, but will prioritize his acting career

Rook: something related to archeology. He wants to work at the Isle of Lamentation since he found it beautiful and wanted to discover more hidden beauties

Leona: he's already talked about it with Crowley, he wants to work with his country's mining industry (he pretends that is only because they won't expect much of the second prince, nobody believes him)

Idia: he's going to his practice/apprenticeship on his own because Ortho is an official student now. He'll be working with Olympus, but it's more like a punishment his parents gave him after the whole Chapter 6 mess (😭)

Malleus: he's also interested on the same field as Rook

Lilia: a dropout (seriously)

(first glimpse of trouble 👀) Lilia is not going to any practice because he's leaving NRC altogether. He's been losing his magic (to be continued)

Yuu finally gets to have the communal braincell and shows Mickey's picture to the rest of the first years

speedrun of this scene because I can't do it justice in this format (I love my sons, they deserve better)

The only one with a helpful idea is Ortho (shocker), he thinks the mirror at Ramshackle might be made of a special stone (?) that's normally used to capture radio frequencies. They find an example of this in a textbook: Belle's handheld mirror fron Beauty and the Beast

Ortho concludes that Mickey is not in Twisted Wonderland. He says that they might be able to find a way home for Yuu if they study the mirror further (uh oh)

We're ignoring the implications of that

Ortho asks if Yuu knows anyone from the fae folk that might be of help. Sebek is screaming again before the thought of asking Malleus is fully formed

Back to Lilia. He break the news to Sebek and Silver. He's leaving NRC and wants to move to the land of the red Long (🐉) instead of returning to the Valley of Thorns

He asks them to help him pack. Malleus says that they must respect Lilia's choice.

The three of them go away. Malleus is upset. (oh no)

another speedrun. Lilia's room.

Sebek and Silver are helping him pack, and they go through all the weird stuff Lilia has. Silver finds a box with a ring in it. He thinks is kind of familiar (hint: looks like Aurora's crown) and suddenly feels very sleepy

Lilia confesses that the ring actually does belong to Silver. He had it on him when he was found as a baby. He wanted to give it to him once he became an adult

(the math is mathing fellas)

we also ignore the implications of that (for now) because Sebek found a really cool and legendary weapon. Silver isn't impressed because Lilia uses it to chop wood (😭)

Back to Ramshackle. The first years are staying with Yuu to perform a seance to see if they can contact Mickey

ADeuce convinced Riddle to let them stay by telling him it was a group study session (like I used to do with my mom)

Grim: he can't punish me if I don't study, I'm not from Heartslabyul

Deuce: he made personalized study plans for everyone here (note: not actual lines, just the vibes). The exam season is near

Grim finally starts to ask what Yuu leaving would mean for him. Would he even be allowed to take exams? Would he be alone at Ramshackle? (😭😭😭)

Ace: let's ignore the implications of that

They go to sleep, but it starts snowing and Yuu goes outside

It's Malleus, it's snowing because he's upset

Descendants be nailing the character aesthetic each and every time! There’s so much to talk about!

These leak and the girl from the trailer are two separate people. From what we’ve seen, Red has 3 very different hairstyles throughout the movie, but we ain’t gonna talk about that. I love her style. It’s like a combination of Mal’s edginess and Evie’s punk royalty. I don’t care what y’all say, the designer is amazing and I love what he’s doing!

One thing that interest me is Uma’s relationship with Red. It seems like they know each other personally. I’ve thought it either two explanations.

1. While Uma was on the run, she found Wonderland and there, she met Red

2. While Red grew up in Wonderland, she and her mother were sent to the Isle of the Lost teen she was a teen. That makes sense to me since the Queen has a salon on the Isle. And please don’t try to get logical and ask why Beast would wait for 10 years cause if that’s the case, why would Beast waste time having FG bring dead villains back to life?

All in one, I’m so excited to meet Red and just see this movie in general! It looks so good!!! It gives the og Descendants vibes!

[(A/N)]: I want to try this AU out and had to watch some episodes of the animated show just to get the vibe going. Also a few gifs are placed everywhere just to help visualize any action.

Idia: I’m not okay with this.

Miyeon: Don’t worry, Idia. I checked and double-checked. This is safe, and I even booked reservations for us to be in a secluded part of the clubhouse.

Idia: You did?

Miyeon: Yeah. I understand you’re still not comfortable being around others or being outside in general, but think of this as a simulation with just the two of us and the “NPCs” are not our concern. And this could be baby-steps for being out of your room longer. Which Ortho describes, in a way. The place is always packed and it’s pretty difficult to get in. I promise there won’t be bad news happening, but if there is, we’ll come back to NRC.

Idia: *Trying to hide his smile* What did I do to deserve you like an UR+ character?

Miyeon: Maybe it was the time I saved you and while helping me stay grounded.

[Idia and Miyeon arrived at the front of the club, and as they first entered inside, Choi checks them in.]

Daisy: Welcome to the House of Mouse. Have you made reservations?

Miyeon: Yes, actually. Under the name “Miyeon Choi” and on a date with my boyfriend. It’s our first time here.

Daisy: Right this way. *Points at the direction*

Donald: *Welcoming them* Hello, welcome to my club.

Miyeon: Thank you, sir.

[The couple walked through the crowd of guests and tables. Miyeon was amazed by the atmosphere and all of the whimsical characters.]

Miyeon: I have never seen such a dimension this…animated. Right, Idia?

Idia: *Sticking close to Miyeon* Y-Yeah…

Miyeon: Oh, found our table. I heard there’s a special going on tonight. How are you holding up?

Idia: I’m still readjusting to the new settings.

Miyeon: *Nods* Everything is gonna be okay. Just a night between us and let loose. Oh, I need to fix something up. Be right back.

[As Miyeon came out of the restroom, she was heading back to their table before seeing a huge cat character tormenting a staff employee.]

Miyeon: Oh hell no. *Teleports to the scene*

Pete: Once I get my hands on you, I’ll-

Miyeon: *Appears in front of the character and blocks the employee behind them* You’ll do what?

Pete: *Spooked by the appearance* Huh?!

Miyeon: Get your filthy gloved hands away from this staff worker. Who the HELL do you think you are?

Pete: I'm Pete. The landlord and owner of this building-

Pete: *Offended* Are you mocking me?

[The commotion starts gaining everyone’s attention.]

Aladdin: Another fight happening?

Miyeon: No, I said I don't care. You were insulting this kid while they’re just doing their job and you even threaten them. How about you leave before something happens, okay?

Pete: Bah! You think you’re so tough protecting this one.

Miyeon: That’s my job. I protect people and their realities. I even know what will happen in your future. Failure after failure attempting to win everything when your rival, Mickey is the true winner. You know that trope where true villains actually lose? I know you will, and it’s a fact.

Pete: *Furious* Why you… *Throws a punch*

Miyeon: *Opens a portal*

Miyeon: Wrong move, tubby.

Pete: *Holds his bruised face* How?!

Miyeon: Training and experience. I’ll tell you again, leave this place. You’re scaring everyone here.

Pete: *Throws in another punch*

Miyeon: *Catches his fist and grips it tightly* Go ahead. Hit me. See what nightmare-inducing dimension I can bring you to.

Pete: *Yanks his arm back and holds his aching hand* This isn’t gonna be the last time you’ll hear from me.

[Pete the Cat rushes out of the club.]

Miyeon: Fucking asshole. Hey, are you okay?

MC/Yuu/[Y/N]: Yeah, I went through worse things. But thanks.

Miyeon: You don’t seem like you’re a cartoon or anything. Which world are you from?

MC/Yuu/[Y/N]: Twisted Wonderland.

Miyeon: Oh my god. Another me?

MC/Yuu/[Y/N]: ???

Miyeon: I’m Miyeon Choi. Also from Twisted Wonderland and a temporary professor teaching at NRC.

MC/Yuu/[Y/N]: You’re kidding. How are you able to handle students?

Miyeon: I’m the Master of Eldritch Magic back in my original world and handled some hard-asses during my times of defending my world’s reality.

MC/Yuu/[Y/N]: Why are you here?

Miyeon: I’m on a date with Idia.

MC/Yuu/[Y/N]: Idia?!

Miyeon: Well, my Twisted Wonderland’s Idia. We’re having a night out as we take turns trying something new every once in a while.

MC/Yuu/[Y/N]: So you’re what? Another me who is actually powerful?

Miyeon: I wouldn’t say powerful. Just experienced from times I fought against greater enemies.

Goofy: MC/Yuu/[Y/N]! You’re needed at Table 7!

MC/Yuu/[Y/N]: Oh my god! The Great Seven are coming.

Miyeon: Wait. They come here? Like actually here?

MC/Yuu/[Y/N]: Yes, and I’m the only one who can tolerate them. It’s cool meeting you and thanks again for saving me.

Miyeon: No problem. It was also nice meeting you. I have to go back to my date.

Miyeon: Jagiya! Sorry for leaving you alone. A staff member was in trouble and I couldn’t help but- *Sees her boyfriend shaking* Idia, what’s wrong? You looked like you found out your favorite anime got canceled.

Idia: *Eyes at the direction*

Miyeon: *Follows his view*

Miyeon: Oh. Okay, don’t mind them.

Idia: How? How are they here?

Miyeon: We’re in another dimension and they could only and possibly be around here than back home. Lets just order something to ease off tonight.

[As the night continues, Miyeon and Idia are enjoying the music performance and animation (mostly Idia giving commentary on every skit) and each other’s company.]

Idia: Miyeon-shi. Do you want to hang out back in my room? I-I’m sure it’s late back at NRC and you’re busy with no time for me…

Miyeon: Oh Idia, you don’t have to be nervous. Of course I’ll hang out with you more. Plus I’m sure Grim is having a fun sleepover with the ADeuce duo.

[Then all of a sudden, Pete the Cat brought his goons into the club.]

Donald: HAH?!! What’s the big problem?! You can’t enter here! *He gets thrown aside by Pete*

Pete: Where is that wizard lady? *Spots Miyeon at their table* Found you. Get’em boys!

[The goons rush over to the table, ready to strike at the Eldritch Master.]

Idia: *Sees the goons* Miyeon? What did you do this time?

Miyeon: My Universe, don’t worry. I got everything under control. *Sips some of their mocktail*

[They crash into a portal mimicking mirror shards that start rippling and disappeared into the Mirror Dimension.]

Miyeon: Trying to attack me after what I told you. *Deactivates the spell*

Pete: Huh?! How?!!

Miyeon: I’m one of the most powerful magic users back in my original world. I learned from the best ones, too. Now… *Cracks their neck and knuckles* Still want to hit me?

Idia: *Behind Miyeon and mouthing “Run” to the cartoon cat*

[Pete runs away in fear from Miyeon and exits out of the club for tonight.]

Pete: *From a distance* This isn’t over!

???: Huh. Not bad, kid.

Idia & Miyeon: *Turns their heads to the mysterious person and are surprised* Lord of the Underworld?!/Hades?!

Hades: The one and only. I watched what you did and I’m impressed.

Miyeon: Uh thanks. I hope I didn’t cause too much trouble and disturbing everyone’s night.

Hades: No way. It’s been a while since actual excitement happened here. Plus, I heard from a little imp that you saved our favorite staff worker.

Miyeon: Oh, MC/Yuu/[Y/N]. I couldn’t pass by after what I witnessed. You know, my morals as a protector.

Hades: Yeah, I hear you. So why are you here?

Miyeon: *Holds Idia’s hand* I’m on a date with my Idia.

Idia: *Blushes hard by the gesture* Miyeon…!

Hades: Really? Count yourself lucky. I tried to set my Idia up with MC/Yuu/[Y/N].

Idia & Miyeon: Seriously?

Hades: It’s a long story. You two have a great date night. *Walks back to his table* In your faces, guys!

Idia: Miyeon, can we go back? To my room?

Miyeon: Yeah. After tonight’s event, I’ll pay for everything.

[Back in Twisted Wonderland]

[Idia and Miyeon were quiet during the walk back to the Ignihyde Dormitory.]

Miyeon: Tonight did not go as planned.

Idia: I can’t believe we interacted with one of the Great Seven. What kind of seasonal event is this?

Miyeon: I didn’t expect that either. It may take a while until our next date night.

Idia: Yeah, a while.

Miyeon: …Idia, I’m sorry I ruined our night out. I should have ignored the problem but I couldn’t. It just happened.

Idia: Miyeon-shi, I don’t blame you. You’re a hero back in your world, but sometimes you need to let other normies do their things.

Miyeon: Hmm. Wonder who taught you that. *Smiles smugly at their boyfriend*

Idia: U-Uhh…A good teacher…

Miyeon: Let’s just relax in your room. I’m dead tired from that fight. *Holds their hand out to Idia*

Idia: *Anxiously reaches and grabs her hand*

Miyeon: Don’t worry. Nobody is awake now. Come on. *Ushers Idia back to his room*

[The two then spend the rest of the night together.]

hey a little tag game i want to try!!! order your favorite twst dorms from least fave to favorite!

Scarabia: their characters on their own are good but seeing them together makes me extremely uncomfortable?? it’s probably because the orientalism plus people shipping together..it’s not jamil and kalims fault but i have a complicated relationship with scarabia

Octavinelle: idk they just don’t stand out to me. jade is neat but i feel like the tweels are overhyped. don’t really have an opinion about azul

Savanaclaw: again the characters are great but. as a whole they don’t stand out to me. i love jack and ruggie but leona 😬 if you got rid of the sarcasm and smug expression he would be a cool character (i kin him more than i would like) but i feel like he’s wasted potential. also book 2 was the hardest to get through because it was so boring it really did them dirty

Heartslabyul: the card guys!! don’t really care much about them either..i usually like alice in wonderland vibes but their dorm uniforms are the worst things i’ve ever seen. WHY DO THEY WEAR T-SHIRTS?? other than that i don’t have much to say about them.

Pomefiore: THE GAYS okay they’re awesome. this is mostly because of rook i just really like rook. and rookvil. epels great to actually. also on the complete opposite note their dorm uniforms are amazing (maybe even my favorite) i would totally wear them myself. but even though they’re in the top three i don’t really think about them more than any of the other dorms.

Ignihyde: okay of course my second favorite dorm is the cute family. what did you expect. but also they are so interesting?? book 6 has been the best book so far especially with all the lore. also ortho is best boy AND LITERALLY A ROBOT. how can you not like precious robot boy who loves his brother. also their designs are cool the hades hair and teeth are very gender.

Diasomnia: you already knew this was coming. my beloved dark romanticism found family dorm<33 i am literally obsessed with them okay. not only are their designs peak gender but they’re WRITING is so. augh. just the contrast between them. we got two faes who are centuries old and have experienced years upon years of hardship. war. suffering. and then we have two (one and a half) humans who have never experienced loss. or grief. they are honest and hardworking and loyal, they represent youth and joy!! and yet they all have so much LOVE and TRUST for eachother it makes me go INSANE!!!! also you can never miss with gothic aesthetics and fairies…literally the greatest thing out there

anyways in conclusion i think any dorm that isn’t diasomnia and doesn’t have tragedy and fate weaved inside them are plain and boring. if i placed your favorite dorm low feel free to tell me why im wrong and why they are the best!! i would love to hear :)) (also feel free to include ramshackle too)

ROUND 2, MATCH 44

NO MAGIC, POWERS, WEAPONS, OR ADDITIONAL HELP FROM OTHERS

Isabelle:

“She's in Smash, also she's best friends with Doom Guy”

“She's probably got some pent up rage about being stuck with mayor duties, especially when the player neglects the games. She's cute and this tournament need more women. I'm so happy someone else thought about her, too.”

“If she can hold her own in Smash she can hold her own here. She deserves the chance let loose too. Let her wreck some people!”

Floyd Leech:

“NOTE: Floyd is a magic boy, but the “no mage stone” thing is there because it means he won’t be able to use magic, because people in Twisted Wonderland can’t without accumulating deadly magic toxin unless they have the stones. He’s also a merman, but he’d be in his human form. His human form does have pointy teeth (like the anime character kind) but I’m not sure if they have any real effect in game other than to intimidate people. Other people in this game have them too who are allegedly “human.” And again, plenty of “human” anime characters have them. Myfeeling is that they shouldn’t be disqualifying on their own. This game is about magic boys at a magic school, but don’t worry, they get into traditional fist-fights so often it’s literally a randomly generated event that can happen in your Guest Room space. And Floyd Leech would never use magic in a fist-fight. He’d think that was “no fun” or “totally lame.” His signature magical spell just nullifies other people’s magic that targets him… so he can fight them with his fists. Since no one else here has magic, it’s totally irrelevant. Also I’m not sure he uses fists so much as he does something to his opponents that he describes as “squeezing” them. I don’t know entirely what he means by that when he’s in his human form, but how much it scares the faceless NPC students indicates to me that he’s found a way to make it work. I do know it’s supposed to have a whole mafia vibe to it. Because his dad (and his childhood friend he lowkey sort-of works for) have real mafia boss energy. And Floyd’s basically decided that if he’s going to do this mafia shtick it’s Capo or bust. Floyd doesn’t always feel like doing stuff, due to his wildly unpredictable mood swings, but it honestly seems like the thing he can most easily be convinced to do is beat the shit out of people. During the “Beanfest” event (which was somewhat analogous to a paintball match), he insisted on throwing his weapon away and beating up aforementioned childhood friend even though the game was over and he’d already lost, just because apparently “once Floyd has decided to fight nothing can be done about it" and you just have to fight him if you want to get on with the rest of your day. He’d started out that event “not really in the mood” but somehow ended up spending the entire day beating the hell out of every person he ran into. In the camping event, when all of the boys were being picked off by a monster in the woods one at a time and were panicking because they didn’t have magestones or cellphones and therefore couldn’t defend themselves with magic or call an adult for help, Floyd was literally just like “why don’t we just beat the shit out of it?” And then he DID. And it was awesome. But before you think he’s just some sort of dumb thug, let me assure you that Floyd is actually one of Night Raven’s most intelligent students. He has a photographic memory and can create valuable gems in alchemy class with minimal effort. Unfortunately, his mood swings make it impossible for him to maintain a decent GPA. But he’s actually a smart, tactical fighter. He’s just violent and unstable. Oh and if you’re wondering, his personality is generally abrasive and confrontational. He regularly starts arguments with the most volatile people at the school, just to mess with them and see where it goes because he’s bored. Finally, if it sweetens the deal for anyone, Floyd would wear some killer designer shoes to this fight. Don’t worry, they wouldn’t be dangerous/weaponized. They’d just be expensive and custom made. You know, so he can get upset when someone scuffs them up. Like for real, is there anyone who deserves to be in a crazy bitch fist-fight more than a moody mafia prince who’s secretly some sort of genius, but seems to only truly love fighting and designer footwear? If there is, I can’t think of them. ”

final thoughts on the fox fella + new smol cat boi

What I find the most fascinating about Fellow isn't the character himself but rather the fandom reaction to just seeing his design. It was a tsunami of thirst unlike anything I had ever witnessed before. People were switching up oshis entirely, those who had never made a self-insert or yume before were suddenly making ones specifically to be shipped with Fellow, it was WILD. He's a homewrecker/j I support any and all Fellowives out there👍

That being said, I'm surprised that I feel so... lukewarm about him overall????? I'm usually all gung-ho for the smiling scammer types but for some reason Fellow just doesn't resonate with me. I'll admit that he's very good-looking (I love the colors of his suit, the cravat, the colorful patched up pants, and especially the silly little half capelet thing hanging off of him). His expressions are also very fun, with some favorites being his super smug smirk and the knowing, slightly-off kilter smile. However, there's just something about Fellow's personality that doesn't sit with me quite right. I know it's not the "he's a Red Flag!! RUN AWAY NOW!!!" thing either, because I love Love LOVE red flags in fictional characters 😭

Fellow is good at charming people off the cuff and using deceit to compensate for his low magical reserves, which in of itself is intriguing. It’s also admirable that he wants to start his own school for non-mages and low-magic mages to mingle, He’s an adult that still keeps the spirit of childlike wonder alive, and that makes him fun to follow. Those are the traits of his I like.

But I get the vibes that Fellow isn't as clever or as impressive as he likes to think he is...? He's full of himself but can't exactly back up his words with action. That's not meant to be a diss at his magical prowess, he's lacking in other areas as well. Like, he's a fully grown man picking fights with kids because of a personal vendetta... and he’s steering the kids home while the island is sinking and relying on them to rescue them in case anything goes wrong?? That’s just irresponsible. Not to mention he doesn’t seem to plan ahead?? How does he not know he’s kidnapping many famous and/or powerful people with families might come after his ass if they go missing?

I think that it doesn't help that the "pathetic" vibes were being conveyed in a lot of fan art well before the twist; it only adds to his "patheticness" and it gets to a point where it's too much for me and then is no longer appealing. I can get on board with him and gloating and wanting to crush kids’ dreams because same/j but not when he’s panting and wheezing and desperately tackling them for their tickets to tear up. He doesn’t feel like a genuine threat without the support of his backers. I would still say I like the character and will happily rag on him, but I wouldn't bark for him or anything (though I will grant him points for coming close to winning the cage makes it better/j).

What I appreciate about Fellow's character is that it shows us a darker side to Twisted Wonderland. I don't necessarily think his initial motives are that deep (he's after fat stacks), but I think the sentiment behind the motives are. It pulls back the curtain and reveals an ugly truth about his magical world and the roles that money and privilege play in it. We aren't exposed to many instances of this, but they are, in fact, there (like when Yuu was insulted by Riddle in book 1). It's finally getting attention front and center now—I just wish they had gone deeper with it.

What's currently got me invested in following Fellow is his relationship with Gidel. I love that they're a "found family" (they're "sworn brothers") and that Fellow seems to look after Gidel... Telling the NRC boys not to put stupid ideas in Gidel's head, walking off with Gidel at the end, recounting the times they scammed together, putting his arm out in battle to keep Gidel behind him... (or maybe I'm just delusional and want to believe the fan art LOL). I'm such a sucker for the trope of the protective big brother 💀 Unfortunately, we don't get a ton of canon moments in the event... Like damn, not even details on how they first met or how they found this job or why specifically Fellow cares for Gidel??? I don’t like that for all that we’re told about how hard the duo’s past was, we didn’t get to hear a lot of explicit detail about it (especially when it is so inherently important to their conflict with the NRC crew and their turn at the very end). I just gotta pray their eventual card next Halloween will give more insight into this.

He’s a character I like to think about mainly because his background as a failed mage student gives me a lot to chew on in terms of questioning the world’s lore and how their society is structured. Fellow himself is good for a few laughs, but it isn’t long before my mind strays, if that makes sense. I’m not chomping at the bit, but I don’t exactly detest the guy??? I guess you would call it ambivalence; I’m only fixated on certain aspects of him (the looks, the lore he provides, and the onii-sama potential).

I don't really have much to comment on for Gidel, but I have to say that I like having mute representation and more magicless characters in the cast at large. His outfit is also very fun; I like how it incorporates colors you don't normally see slapped together (that shade of yellow and purple) while still looking cohesive. I keep looking at Gidel's design and seeing a mix of Cheka and Ruggie though (because of the fluffy hair, eye shape, and stature). He very much reminds me of a smol doggo I'd bump into on a walk home and spend ten minutes standing there and considering adopting it.

As I said in my thoughts on Fellow, I think Gidel is at his best when he's in his little brother-big brother dynamic with Fellow. He's just a little guy trying his best while Fellow's trying to lead them. I think that's something the whole fandom can agree on, since I see sooo many people shading Fellow for his actions but the same people squealing and patting Gidel on the head and claiming he has done nothing wrong (despite being complicit in, and actively helping with, the trafficking operation). I guess it's because Gidel is still a child and may not fully understand the implications of it???

It's very sweet and genuine that Gidel demonstrates an interest in going to school and learning—but Fellow, who has been disappointed by the world of magic academia, warns Gidel against it. In his own way, he's keeping Gidel from what he sees as an uppity, shallow realm that will crush his hopes and dreams. That's Fellow's version of "protecting" him. It's a way of telling us about their relationship without outright stating how Fellow feels about Gidel. In return, Gidel also supports him and whacks him a good one when Fellow’s down in the dumps.

I'm sad that we didn't get to see more of their dynamic in the event (like we only see them having a meaningful interaction at the very end), but maybe that's just because the fandom works have set my expectations high. Unfortunately, all those sweet moments of Fellow and Gidel bonding are seemingly confined to just fanart and fanfiction, since very little is mentioned or even implied in the event itself. I'm hoping that (assuming they get a card together next year) we get to see more glimpses of their daily life in the associated vignettes.
