taimi or whatever the fuck it's called is wild. i deleted it when i couldn't find a single person within a 100mi radius i found attractive enough to flirt with but that's not what made it insane. the sexuality list is a bunch of mogai stuff i literally had to google and most of it sounded like it was written by chasers and people who base sexual attraction on genitals which i don't really vibe with. and when i went to screenshot it so i could at least look up the terms later on, it saved it as completely black like

Knitting a freehand bag and started wondering how often people even use patterns, anyway. So--how often do you use a pattern when you make things ? This include knitting/crochet/sewing/weaving/nalbinding/bobbin lace/tatting/etc but also things like woodworking, cooking, and baking. If you want to just pick the thing you do most often that's fine.

I personally do not use patterns as I find them far more confusing than just figuring out the construction of an item and simply making it. I do very occasionally browse ravelry for inspiration but have downloaded maybe 2. In the 5 or so years since I joined. And have followed exactly 1, which I modified every single aspect of. In my defense, dyslexia.

You don't play music for a grand design, you do it to... huh, why do you do it?

(Your art is the one form of self-expression that feels as safe as Disguise Self does, because even if you're pouring your heart onto the page and then screaming it in front of thousands of people, it's not like you're really making yourself known. You can sing I'm lonely, I'm scared, I'm furious, and your fans will sing it right back, and there will still be the distance between performer and audience to keep your heart safe.)

Now you're being asked to look inward to explain the artistic choices you're making, and you can't help but recoil at that, because you'd rather do anything than look inward. So if your music is an extension of yourself, (and it is, even if it's just because the spotlight reveals only what you want it to,) you can't think about your music. You can't. You have to. Your grade depends on it.

people staring at him and judging him isn't scary to mhok because it happens to him all the time. it's not that it doesn't suck, it's just not scary because everyone does it to him and he's still here. what's scary is not knowing what people think of him. because he sees the way people look at him. because when he has nothing going for him, no job prospects, nobody to take a chance on him he still has the knowledge. he always knows. and to not know? to not have the one thing he's always relied on? that's so scary.

and every new thing we get to learn about day is so visual. his career relied not just on sight but sharp eyesight. so much of his room is visually appealing. he has frames and pictures all over his walls because he likes looking at them. he has a computer and a tv in his room and a theatre in his home that he doesn't use not just because he can't see but because he can't be seen in his house because he's being hidden away in the US. he has his trophies all on display. everything in his is set up in a way that it is visible from his bed - including the fish tank with the fish that he never wanted but now makes sure to look at every day with his few seconds of vision. he had surrounded himself with things he likes to look at. and suddenly losing not just his future with his career but so many of the things he cares about? that's scary.

and for him to not know what people think about him? when he's been in the public eye because of his career? to know that he's recognisable? that his mother is also recognisable? to know that anywhere he is goes he or someone he knows will be seen? and for him to never see what they think of him? terrifying

it is... a bit upsetting that there aren't a lot more people aren't talking about grian's episode (or at least, in the way they probably should be lol). to be clear, i'm glad he changed the title, i'm glad he's made an attempt to correct himself instead of doubling down but... i mean what use is changing the title when you say the phrase 'Manifest Destiny' so many times in the video itself. why would the painting you commission be so similar to The most famous depiction of it. i wanna take this in as good faith as possible and believe that he really did just not know what the phrase meant, and, again, i'm glad that he's made any kind of effort but... eugh. idk you'd think more people would be talking about it.

Lately I've only been wishing to grab a comic about my favorite character and just have a genuinely good time reading it.
