The rain fell heavy on your umbrella, making it harder for you to trudge down the street. You didn’t have a ride home sense your S/O has dropped you. Vanessa pulled back onto the road, she clicked her tounge, adjusting her radio on her hip and glancing over at you.

Something about her made you melt, it could just be the police uniform she was still in, maybe it was just how her eyes looked like little pools of water, or maybe it was just because this heat was so bad you’d take anything you could get.

“ so, Y/n. Have you got a nest built? “

“ Huh-?? “

“ well, that heat seems like it’s not going away anytime soon. I atleast hope you have somewhere comfy your curling up. “

Your face grew red at the question, she knew about the heat, you were stupid to think she didn’t. You gripped your pants and glanced off.

Vanessa swirled her wine, before throwing back the last bit. Her eyes glanced across the room, before back at you, smiling softly.

You both stood up, looking up at her with your big doe eyes.

This was wrong. A random girl, a random alpha in your home, and now you were leading her to your nest, your little spot in this world. Your bedroom was the nicest room in the apartment, your bed all covered in multiple blankets and pillows to keep you comfy. You grabbed the new comforter, opening it from its packaging. Wow. That's, like, one fic for some people but also way more than I thought I’d written so that’s cool.

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Right now, only RWRB! I used to be a pretty active Dramione writer (HP fandom).

I try my best to! I love getting comments -- I'm a biiiig words of affirmation girlie so I have screenshots of basically every comment I've ever gotten, lol. But I am also an easily overwhelmed and easily distracted girlie (see: ADHD) so sometimes I don't and I promise it's not because I don't love your comment with every beat of my heart.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

OH, I ACTUALLY HAVE AN ANSWER TO THIS! I don't write angst but I did leave this bloody-on-your-doorstep fic on a cliffhanger and then never wrote another word of it so. That was pretty angsty of me.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

a quick study (my latest fic, which is Alex/Henry/Pez) because there were 3 happy endings in a row.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I don't think I have, and I'm very thankful for that.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I have never written an impure word in my life. I don't even know how to spell clock.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I used to write HP/Twilight crossovers with my best friend when we were 13. It was all crack and made us laugh a lot. Thankfully, I think it was mostly on paper only so there is no internet proof.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I don't think so.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! I think a few of my Dramiones have been translated.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I've co-written a few drabbles! It's a lot of fun seeing other writers' processes and how much less insane they are than mine.

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

I love FirstPrince SO much right now. They're just so perfect for each other!

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

All of them. I'm only determined to finish Five-Drink Henry right now. All of them but that one.

16. What are your writing strengths?

People have told me that I'm good at characterization, which is a compliment that always makes my heart grow three sizes.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I struggle a lot with interiority and anything descriptive of setting or appearance, lol.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I think it's awesome, and I love it when writers do it.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

My first piece of writing ever was either Dragon Tales or Franklin fanfic when I was like 4. So I guess one of those.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

My favorite Dramione I've written is Good Girls Get to Sit on Santa's Lap because it was a deviation from my norm in a few different ways, and it was just a lot of fun to write.

For FirstPrince, I've just so so so enjoyed writing every single thing. Right now, I'm going to say Five-Drink Henry, because I like getting to show their relationship developing.

as per usual that list is too long for this post so here's my 2023 fic roundup

2. Work you are most proud of (and why):

far and away it has to be before i bury you purely because it was 1. SUCH an endeavor to begin with, and 2. so unbelievably different from anything i've written before. like, the criminal minds au was me dipping my toe into the pool of horror/suspense, and this fic was diving in headfirst. and i know it's not everyone's cup of tea (or most people's, tbh) but i've been so pleased with the reactions of those who have read it and i'm so, so thankful for it 💛 (honorable mentions to always have & i always will and a tender age, tho)

3. Work you are least proud of (and why):

it's not that i'm not proud of it but a fic that's been hanging over my head all year is if the fates allow because god i hate that it's almost been a year since i updated it and I'VE BEEN TRYING to work on it but my brain just refuses to focus on it! i'm really hoping to finish it soon, though (and the gd pirate au too UGH).

4. A favorite excerpt of your writing:

man am i glad i did an ask meme like a week ago that asked this question so i can snag an answer from that rather than spending 3 hours combing through my fics lol

there's been a few instances of that over the last year but no specific events immediately come to mind. it seems to come and go in waves for me and all i can do is just ride it out and hope my inspiration comes back.

ok like i swear to god i never thought i would write omegaverse and yet a tender age happened and it basically came pouring out of me and onto the page so like?? what the hell was that??? (also no i have not forgotten i promised a sequel, it's percolating i promise)

8. How did you grow as a writer this year:

i tried new genres!! i really enjoyed the writing process!! (even if it made me absolutely insane at times)

9. How do you hope to grow next year:

i've said this a billion times before but i think next year i want to try writing original stuff alongside fic. idk if i'll finish a whole novel or what, but i'd at least like to start something.

Thanks @10holmes for the fun ask! 😊 I got a bit carried away so this is really long, sorry! Answers to questions I onwards are under the cut.

G: Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order?

Mostly I write from start to finish, though sometimes I do skip around if I hit a bit of a block for the next scene or get inspiration for a particular bit. Also sometimes I’m in the mood to write something ‘proper’ and sometimes all I wanna do is write the smutty scenes :D

I: Do you have a guilty pleasure in fic (reading or writing)?

Hmm, probably when reading fic… I think my guilty pleasures are omegaverse and Regency era AUs! Omegaverse seems to be a bit like marmite, you either love it or hate it – and I love it :D And you can’t go wrong with some steamy Regency era fic, the characters trying to restrain themselves but ultimately breaking all those social taboos with an illicit love affair :P

R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?

Hmm, this is tricky. Not really? As in, I like reading a wide variety of authors (fanfic or published), covering a variety of fandoms, genres, tropes etc, so I can’t think of anyone specifically who has influenced me to a greater degree than anyone else. However, I do really enjoy reading people’s meta and headcanons on tumblr and I think that helps me a lot to build and shape my impressions of characters and therefore influences my writing in that way.

S: Any fandom tropes you can't resist?

Slow burn (ideally with eventual smut), angst with a happy ending, soulmates, omegaverse, enemies to lovers, pining… (LOVE the pining!)

It depends on the fandom/pairing, but generally I like happy endings and I like the pairing to be mutually head over heels in love with each other. The pain of unrequited love or a sad ending can be really good too, if I’m in the mood for that, but I am generally a huge sucker for a happy ending.

T: Any fandom tropes you can't stand?

I really can’t stand coffee shop AUs…! I don’t understand why they’re so popular. I’ve worked in coffee shops/hospitality and I hated it, so that experience has probably tainted the concept for me.

I like to read fic so that my fave characters can love and bone each other, so I’m not into fics where they fall out of love, cheat, divorce etc.

I don’t really like love at first sight either. I enjoy soulmates/fated pairings, but like it to be a bit more developed and meaningful than just ‘I saw you, don’t actually know you, but am instantly in love’.

I also am not particularly interested in reading kidfic. Omegaverse, mpreg etc is all fine (and very good, in fact!), but, while there are sometimes exceptions, I usually don’t want to read about the kid coming along. It could be the fact that I don’t want children myself influencing that preference!

There’s nothing wrong with all of these tropes, of course, I just personally don’t usually like to read them.

U: Share three of your favourite fic writers and why you like them so much.

Oh, another extremely difficult question! The thing is, there are soo many amazing fic writers! I am not sure that I’ve got any favourite writers per se, as I’ll happily devour a good fic from anyone, so can I share 3 of my favourite fics instead? (Hopefully that’s not cheating!)

A Devotion by TroubleIWant – this is my most favourite Sterek fic ever, I read it years ago and it has lived in my head rent free ever since. A fab medieval AU.

Stars Above, Stones Below by Destina – a wonderful Merthur fic that I have read several times over. Chef's kiss.

Breathe You In by LapisLazuli – a Johnlock fic that is not only Omegaverse but is also a The Sentinel tv show AU, with Sherlock as an Alpha Sentinel whose 5 senses are super enhanced and John as an Omega Guide who helps him control his senses and avoid zoning out from overstimulation. OMG I wish there were more Omegaverse/Sentinel blended fics out there, for any fandom, as it is such an amazing combination that fits together so well and has such interesting potential!

These 3 are fics that have stuck in my head and I have remembered and loved them for a long time, many years in fact. I highly recommend them! But also, at the moment my current obsession is utterly for XueXiao and I am working my way (far more slowly than I’d like) through the catalogue of fics for them on AO3 and I’d just recommend to anyone to read any and all of those fics, as the ones I’ve read so far are all AMAZING and it’s too hard to single any out! Read them all! And enjoy, but also prepare your heart before you go in for all the delicious pain that awaits you!

Ok so this might be long so, sorry (NOT A REQUEST just something I just had in mind and wanted to share)

So for the scenario (I think it is more of an idea idk tbh xdd) i just read this Bakudeku doujin in youtube called "BakuDeku Omegaverse Doujin- Core Desire" (this doesn't contain nsfw, I think its kinda like a slow burn)

Bit if u aren't much into the ship let me just tell u what's about so u dont have to.

Basicaly Deku is an omega here and Deku hates it. He doesn't want to have kids because he thinks it's just an obstacle to become a hero. He really hates how second gender sm that takes a drug that's called pheromone inhibitors

Here's some info about it from the duojinshi about the pills:

Basically he's giving up his omega and be infertil. And Baku (Alpha here) is like 'hell nah' and because Baku has feelings for deku, he wants to mate deku and impregnate him, he says he doesn't love him, but will kill any other alpha that dares to get close to deku.

Hi! I’m a big fan of your omegaverse writing! I’d love to see some omega Shoto stuff but I have a lot of personal HCs about it if u don’t mind me sharing a bit? I feel like when Sho first presented as an omega endeavor was annoyed cuz they’re considered ‘weaker’ so he probs got Sho on suppressants early & didn’t let him openly present or do typical omega things like nesting, maybe even made him present as alpha/beta until Sho sorta broke from his control a bit? So he’s still figuring it out? -🦇

      Hey Bat-Anon! I promise to write some Omega Shoto soon, but for now I should say that I actually have to agree with your HC (Please send in more I adore hearing other peoples headcanons) but I think Endeavor would take it to the extreme. EDIT: I also have to apologize this became a LOT 

     Like I said in my Aizawa story, Omega males have less testosterone than the average male in order for their reproductive system to stay fertile. Women can become Infertile if they have too much testosterone, so once Shoto even starts presenting as an Omega, he starts the process of changing that in an instant. Monthly testosterone shots become something normal in his life and he quickly gets over his fear of needles. 

     The side effects of the testosterone are something Shoto doesn’t even realize. His chest is always sensitive, he has horrible headaches, his voice drops causing him to become insecure due to the random voice cracks, the increase in muscle, and god the body odor. That last one really gets him because no matter how much Enji will try, he is an omega at heart. He absolutely hates his body odor type scent, so he showers a LOT. His scent also seems to have switched from what was like Cinnamon and Peppermint depending on the sides, to something deeper and more musky.

     Of course the other members of his family are oblivious to this and the one time Fuyumi caught Endeavor giving Shoto one of his monthly testosterone shots, Endeavor just claims that it’s just some medicine. It doesn’t hit her until later in her life what was happening, and she still regrets letting it happen to this day.

     Every nest he ever made was quickly destroyed by his father, which only caused more trauma for the abused Omega because he had no clue why he wanted to nest all of the time. He didn’t even know what nesting was! All he knew is that sometimes his mom would sneak in and slowly help him build a “Make shift bed” In his closet for him to sleep in after the really hard days. Those were always his favorite because it meant his mom would hold him in the nest while he slept.

     Shoto was actually quite scared when he entered UA. He was most intimidated and afraid of Bakugo since he reminded him so much of his father. He never really attempted to make friends or be social, and the first time he truly showed who he really was, was during the sports festival against Deku. He broke down in the middle, but was very content overall. His fight with Bakugo was a different story. He gave his win to Bakugo and just gave up. It honestly pissed off both his father and Bakugo, but he didn’t care in the end.

     Aizawa and Hizashi were both quick to notice how the man showed all of the signs for an Omega on testosterone. His scent, the chest pain he would randomly get, sleepiness, back and joint pain, trouble sleeping, and his mood swings. Both teachers approached Nezu before confronting Shoto about it, only for Shoto to suddenly get really dizzy. Luckily Hizashi grabbed him before he could fall and carried him back to Recovery girl.

     That’s when he learns about Aizawa, a pro-hero who is an Omega on T. Aizawa quickly finds this bond between them and quickly takes him under his wing. The whole time he is talking to Shoto, he is holding his hand in an attempt to keep the boy grounded and calm despite his own anxiety. That’s also when Aizawa learns about Endeavor, how he treated him and his family, and that “He didn’t want me to be ‘almost perfect’ since almost isn’t perfect.”

     Trust me when I say this led to the teachers, even All Might, having a deep anger towards Endeavor. Aizawa cannot fucking stand being around him and will growl if he is on TV. Hizashi may seem calm, but he really wants him to pay for what he did to Shoto. Toshinori will straight up confront Enji, grabbing him and threatening him despite his frail body. None of this even phases Enji though until he takes the spot as #1 and slowly realizes how fucked he is.

     When they get dorms, Aizawa and Hizashi are over in an instant with nesting material for Shoto. Some old band shirts of Hizashis, a couple of Aizawas’ hoodies, and blankets like none other. Once they get inside, Aizawa teaches him how to make a nest and explains why they’re important to Omegas. He also gave him some of his and Hizashis’ clothes just because he noticed how calm he is around the two, as if they were really his parents. Shoto often wears those in his room or to bed since they make him feel safe and honestly, very loved too.

     And that’s how Aizawa and Hizashi accidentally adopted Shoto Todoroki. He has their numbers in his phone (And texts them way more than he does Enji) and even trains under them. After the Midterms, Aizawa decides to teach him some skills he learned along the way. Hizashi actually taught him how to work at his radio station, showing him what plays what song, the commercials, and even the room where he does his morning show. Hell, he even gave Shoto a launchpad and one of his computers so he could try making music himself. It never fails to make Hizashi smile when Shoto stays after class to show him the newest song he worked on. Aizawa doesn’t show favoritism in class, but he does go out of his way after to make sure that Shoto understood the lesson, if not, then he would be welcome in his classroom during lunch or they could discuss it after school.

• Then he heard someone calling out his name

• Its Jeonghan panting after all the running

• Jisoo then remembered all sorts of things, how the doctor told him about outcomes of omega male in heat if some untamed alpha assaulted them.

• And he remembered he does not want Jeonghan to know his omega gender

• And Jeonghan is an alpha standing in front of him. And drawing himself closer towards oneself.

• Jisoo panicked, backed his away and tried to lock himself into toilet cubicle

• But was stopped by Jeonghan and Jeonghan grabbed Jisoo's wrist

• He also knew if they stayed longer, and looking at Jisoo's crying face with his whimpering voice, Jeonghan will definitely lose it.

• Jeonghan pulled Jisoo up and they both are ready to run. Lucky the nurse already sensed things are off and already rushed to where the 2 boys were.

• The nurse just finished took care of the other alpha boys that locked themselves in. And Seungcheol told the nurse Jeonghan and Jisoo are still out there, so the nurse went to find them.

• Jeonghan hurriedly back off once he saw the nurse. Letting Jisoo to get attentive care first.

• After Jeonghan got his suppressant injection. He is more calmer now. He helped the nurse to get Jisoo to infirmary. And later go check up Seungcheol with the others.

• The other boys are calmer too and they are worried about Jisoo too

• After confirmed Jisoo is now safe they went home. Apologised for scaring the other kids.

• The whole team now realised its not gonna be like before anymore. There will be more omegas and even betas. They need to work things out.

• Jeonghan speculated Jisoo's off character behaviour might be due to finding out himself is an omega.
