if you read my zelda comic and like it i love and appreciate you but i really do need to be upfront about it being very much a self indulgent enemies to lovers story with a villain at the center that has done bad but isnt bad at his core and is struggeling to come to terms with the fact that he doesnt actually want to be the evil beast he and almost everyone else believes he should be

The picture of edas friends as children, reminding us that all these adults, allies and villains alike, were once children. They were abused and indoctrinated by the same system that some of them are using to abuse and indoctrinate kids now. A few of them like alador and darius were able to see whats wrong and fight for a better world. But people like odalia sided with the emperor until it was too late because thats the only thing theyve ever known. And then it cuts to adult lilith and raine and shows how a lifetime of living under this system has sapped the joy out of them. How as kids they never would have thought to make their last stand against they system thats been there their whole lives. Its the lifetime of trauma and the perpetuation of the cycle of abuse for me

The compelling thing about Jason as a character is that I never doubted that he cared about the world just because there weren’t panels of him being overly zealous about “restorative community care”

I’m not coming after anyone who wants to see that kind of stuff, but I do think seeking | that | as confirmation that Jason cares about the world is pretty narrow

I just can’t help but think just how brutally evil Gabriel was all the way to the end and even after his death.

That he still chose to make Marinette suffer by placing this obligation on her tiny shoulders that she SHOULDN’T have had to carry and that he got away scot free without having to face any of the true consequences of his actions.

That he still chose to keep his son deceived till the end and take away the closure that Adrien deserved to have after all those years of suffering under the same rooftop as him. And that if Adrien were to find out the truth, Gabriel wouldn’t even be there to deal with the confrontation.

Gabriel Agreste is such a cruel, cruel man.

i know Nahyuta's whole thing is he's extremely calm and well-put together but i want this dude to be constantly under the threat of disintegrating. he definitely is calm and put together SURE and that is a core element of him no matter what (and i like that about him!) but i also like the idea of, once he no longer has to be that perfect person to survive, that the reality of everything, all his anxieties n guilt n discomfort with himself comes crashing in when it's finally safe for him to feel this way. a miserable kind of catharsis, but a catharsis nonetheless. a necessary one for him to unravel the real version of himself he had to keep deep inside. do you understand my vision

I feel like I should preface this by saying I haven't read the books, so don't do any unnecessary spoilers. (You can spoil this particular thing though, because I need to know if I should prepare to fight Rick Riordan.)

The monsters. I'm so normal about them.

So, from literally everything, it's pretty clear that "monster" is a derogatory term. Both in universe and out of universe, it has negative connotations. The way many of Echidna's children (+Medusa) react to being called a monster, makes me belive it's actually pretty similar to a slur.

And what even is a monster? We know Echidna's children are, but it's not just Echidna and her kids. Medusa is also considered a monster, but she has nothing in common with the other "monsters" other than having twisted vaguely animal-like characteristics. But the centaurs also have animal like characteristics, and so does Grover. Yet they aren't monsters.

Not to mention, Echidna's children are likely told, from the moment they were born, that they are monsters and can never belong with the gods and demigods. And they definitely don't belong among the humans. So if you are told, for as long as you can remember, that you could never belong, of course you stop trying. Why would they ever pretend to be anything but a monster if nobody gives them any chance to be something else?

And here's the thing. If everyone I met called me a slur, and then suddenly I met a kid who is willing to look past it, I'd probably adopt them (Medusa. The other 2 were still sceptical, but Percy was nice to her, of course she tries to ally with him. It's still a bit "I'm not like those queers, I'm a good queer" (not saying the mosters are a queer allegory, just making a comparison with Medusa's attitude), but tbf she's actually not like the other monsters, as in Echidna is not her mom (I think)).

However, and I'm not saying that I'm pro the murder of children, but if I was regularly called slurs by people, and I got a mission to kill a child, and they called me a slur within 2 minutes of meeting me, I'd probably go ahead with it.

It's not a case of their actions being good, murder is generally a pretty bad thing to do, but their actions are understandable. And it's a case of the "monsters" (for lack of a better term) having the capability to be good, if someone just GAVE THEM THE FUCKING CHANCE FOR ONCE.

Anyways, if Echidna's children (not her, she's kinda awful for different reasons. This isn't about her. Or maybe it is. She could probably also be better. Idk what I think of her yet. Give me a while) don't get a redemption I will show up at Rick Riordan's doorstep and challenge him to a fist fight.

In a kinder world all this would mean is one less orphan in Gotham, two more billionaires who are genuinely invested in bettering the community around them.

Unfortunately, this is not a kinder world.

Clockwork is not allowed to fix the problem on his own, the chances of each individual apocalypse that Batman is supposed to help prevent even coming to pass are so low that the Observants are all but blind to them, and as such ware refusing to take this seriously and have barred him from leaving Long Now to interfere. (They are not going to enjoy the coming years.)

So he throws Danny and Vlad into the dimension with orders to cause whatever chaos necessary to make sure Batman takes up his cowl.
