Can you write something about yaoshi?thou their design is very pretty (●’3)♡(ε`●)
Let's say we're their fav human/god
I hope this makes sense
We don’t know much about the Aeons yet, so don’t expect this to be an accurate representation of what Yaoshi acts like. I’ll give ya two versions (human and aeon reader).
Tumblr media
(YANDERE?) YAOSHI x READER (ft. Other Aeons)
warnings: ddne, mind break, power imbalance, massive age gap & infantilization(for the human section), yandere themes in general, somnophillia.
note: from what i read in yaoshi’s lore what i wrote feels like something the canon character would do hence the question mark
status: unedited

STORY ONE : TO LIVE IN ABUNDANCE | Doctor ! Reader
I.
Yaoshi could not fathom why one would not wish for eternal life. Life was the most beautiful thing in existence. Wondrous, with a diversity one could not begin to imagine. Yet, there exists people who desire for existence to come to a halt, many who wish for their teachings and gifts to end.
You were one of those people.
Despite your occupation as a doctor, you believed that every patient had a right to choose their destiny. Whether it be to continue fighting for their lives or to die peacefully in their death beds, who were you to decide what happens to them? You were only the nurturer and provider. Even the best doctor in their field has to let go of a patient when it came down to it. For life is only beautiful, meaningful when it has to diminish one day.
And in spite of your beliefs, Yaoshi decided to bless you to join him in his path.
Your world was shaken.
Why were you of all people chosen by this Aeon?
Sure, you were fully dedicated to career. But if anything, your views were more aligned to the Archer Lord of Fate. You have had many Mara strucken, the victims of Yaoshi’s ‘gifts’, pass away before your very eyes. Beasts who have long lost their minds and ability to choose what future they’ll follow. If you had a choice, without a heartbeat
Several millenia pass with you never aging. Generals that ruled come and go.
And now, because of their so-called kindness, you were banished from Xianzhou. Your home. Thrusted into the embrace of space and void,
and none other than the Aeon that doomed you.
“Child. You have come home at last.”
II.
If you were born into a different culture, perhaps a planet that worshipped the Aeon before you, maybe then you would be elated with your current happenstance.
But this was not the case unfortunately.
You spend around a decade filled with hatred and anger. Hurling the most venomous words and even attempting to harm their being. Of course, none of your actions do anything to help your situation.
A century was spent trying to convince them to let you go, to rescind their blessing and leave you to live your life as a mortal.
They refused, stating that it would saddened them to lose you.
It gets close to another century with how long you spent in tears. For the loss of your loved ones that had left you to go to the afterlife. For the situation you were forced into. As you cried and cried, all Yaoshi could do was embrace you using their many arms. It was a peculiar feeling at first but unfortunately became comforting soon enough.
And after all that you finally gave in.
Yaoshi did not seem surprised at all. In fact what awaited your complete acceptance was a gentle smile. One akin to a parent seeing their child come back home after running away in a fit.
“We can finally begin the preparations.”
“For what?” Your voice, hoarse and abused by your depressed barely came out.
“For our wedding.”
iii.
You were used to their multi-armed touches, their inhuman way of showing affection towards you. But nothing could prepare you for the consummation.
You don’t remember anything. Throughout the whole process you were extremely disassociated to the point of being catatonic.
This, this was your life now. Stuck to a god as a human who has far outlived their expiration date. Slowly yet surely your mind corroded.
And even as your body was littered with the golden allure of ginkgo leaves, your freedom never came.
Yaoshi did end up releasing you from their grasp to roam the cosmos freely. People from all over the universe called you the Golden Wanderer, or the Sanctus Medicus Saint.
But what was the point?
Even with your endless fame and immortality. You were a dead man walking.
Waiting, hoping, that one day someone would grant you mercy a god of life and everything beautiful in it could not.

STORY TWO : TO DIE IN THE LIGHT | AEON OF DREAMS - IMAGINARY ELEMENT ! READER
i.
In the time humanity and civilizations began to rise. You were created within the womb of the universe representing a concept. Dreams. Though you most presided over preferable ones, you were known to give unending nightmares to those that slighted you and your domain.
In the grand scheme of Aeons, you were neutral. Never straying from the unbiased perspective of a god. Those that worshipped and favored you get rewarded, those that dirtied your name were punished.
For that you were often looked down upon by your fellow gods, seen as indecisive with your head literally and figuratively stuck in the clouds.
Yaoshi used to be one of them. They had a difficult time understanding how one could live without ever peeling their eyes to the grandiose aesthetics of the world.
They soon began to fall in love with your fair — beautiful and impartial — self.
And if those mara-struck beings were anything to go off of . . .
Their infatuation spelt your doom.
ii.
There you were. Your form shone brilliantly under the light of the moons and stars that seemed to dangle above you.
Even a god snored, and snored you did. But to Yaoshi this hoarse sound was music. No, even more than that.
It was a reminder that throughout the eons, you two are alive. Together. Breathing.
Yaoshi visited your slumbering body frequently to the point that it became a risk. That Lan would sometimes stand guard over you in case they would come, or have the Xianzhou oversee your vicinity. Not many mortals can hold up against the Aeon however, and if it meant having to go against their path in order to see you — the choice was obvious.
Their stays mostly consisted of performing lullabies and poetry of how both your and their followers adored your seemingly romantic partnership, to your blissfully unaware body.
At least that’s what they thought.
iii.
Contrary to popular belief, your most devoted of followers do not eternally sleep. Nor do the majority spend a lot of their sleeping. In order to spread your name, a lot chose to stay awake. Because if there was anything your true followers loved more than a good nap it was you.
As such, not known to many people or gods, you had a vast network of knowledge. A lot of what people learn and experience appear in dreams, and once the more fantastical ones were taken off the list, you were left with a near infinite amount of information.
Humans have also mastered a way of communion with you.
Case in point, you had long known about Yaoshi’s visits. You were the one that asked Lan to aid you. Breaking your self imposed rule of impartiality.
But all is for naught.
Misinformation had spread far too wide and the delusions Yaoshi infected the world with overpowered your truth.
Their acquisition of you was as tranquil and hurdle free as it could be.
While you were caged by Yaoshi, another Aeon swore to bring you back.
Ending life and therefore your deeply unconscious state. A state which they saw as involuntary. A cage infinitely worse than the Aeon of Harmony kept you in.
And the first Stellaron was born.
Tumblr media
a/n: i imagine human reader, especially post yaoshi adoption, to be like a lifesteal-tank sort of abundance character. only ever healing(mostly themself) if they attack/hurt the enemy, which would go against what yaoshi wants. i might draw a design for them actually. the type that if you build well, won’t ever die. but any battle with them would take a really long time since their damage is pp in comparison to other characters at the very least.
[link to the design/drawing here if i ever finish it]
[here’s a link to another aeon related fic]
i wanted to include both versions here before i uploaded this even if the first one is so long cause i just know im never gonna write a part two if ever lol. and yes, the aeon in the last bit is nanook.
want more hsr fics/have an idea for one? send me an ask or submission ❤️

Love rivals Lan and Yaoshi with Aeon of Guidance reader?
Yes, yes, yeeeeeees. I have the perfect idea for this😄
Trigger Warning: Yandere, Obsessive behaviour, Possessive behaviour
Lan didn't know or care about you, he was too focused on hunting down Yaoshi to ever take notice of you, that was until he figured out that Yaoshi had taken a fancy to you. The only reason he approached you at first was to be petty towards Yaoshi.
Surprising even him, you two hit it off, you weren't as annoying as the other aeons, you treated him with kindness and soothed him, he almost forgot that he was supposed to hunt down Yaoshi. He could definitively see what Yaoshi saw in you, you made his heart beat and he loved it. You made him feel safe and he wanted to make you feel safe as well.
Meanwhile Yaoshi took notice of what Lan was doing, getting close to you, he was trying to take what was hers. Yaoshi felt jealous, you always avoided her but you're fine with Lan, why Lan of all aeons, he has been hunting her ever since he was born.
Yaoshi's jealousy makes her take out her anger on the Xianzhou Alliance, tricking them with the promise of immortality and blessing them with abundance to transform them into unthinking immortal beasts and monsters.
Yaoshi's actions catches Lan's attention, but in the end you are more important, a couple of his people can be sacrificed if it means he can continue to protect you from her. He has known for a while of Yaoshi's unhealthy possessiveness towards you and he will not stand for it, you are his to protect not hers and so he redoubles his efforts to hunt her down.
It's an eternal fight that will not stop until one is dead and the other owns you.

imagine being stuck between the needy but generally carefree omega WEI WUXIAN and the jealous and insecure omega JIANG CHENG, being an alpha whom they playfully and not really pull from side to side — and things only get worse when LAN WANGJI also begins to show interest in you, which makes Lan Xichen interested in the alpha who was able to attract his brother's attention for the first time, who is characterized by indifference to anyone, no matter alpha, beta or omega.
you literally have to balance and try to build that chain where it will work at least a little normally, especially when you can feel others secretly watching with interest (which is forbidden in the Gusu Lan sect!) what 'your' omegas are doing and how you are trying to treat them, especially considering that none of them is an ordinary or normal omega, while you, well, are not at all from some 'special' status and do not have significant influence.
you really don't know what you were thinking when, instead of trying to run away or suppress, you agree to 'try' without hiding anything too much from them and the nature of this relationship, and even less do you understand what is happening when, despite some time of reflection and weighing decisions, you get their approval. but the fact that you're running between them like a prom-trotter at the same time is so stupidly funny and exciting that you don't mind, even if these 'dates' don't have any particularly romantic overtones.
... but the fact that you are subsequently forced to run away from the three potentially most dangerous omegas among cultivators, since 'love nonsense' has an untimely habit of looking like this only for you.

Lan laying back and pretending to relax, arms crossed behind her head— you’d almost think she was unaffected, if you couldn’t make out her flushed cheeks and little fangs peeking out as she bites her lip, through the tears beading your lashes.
( MDNI, No Age In Bio DNI )
CW: terato, naga fucking, tail fucking, bondage, asphyxiation, mild/unintentional humiliation, cnc vibes
Info: gn sub bottom reader
You’re suspended in midair, wrapped in the coils of her tail while the tip of it slides wetly in and out of your entrance. The vulnerability, the humiliation, the tight squeeze of her coils around your midsection make you feel like you could pass out… Lan watches you intently from under her bangs, savoring every twitch of your cute human body and watching tears stream down your cheeks as you beg. Begging for what, she’s not sure. Hells below, you don’t seem to be sure yourself— every time she stops like you ask her to, you only squirm harder and cry for her to keep going. Lan breathes in deeply, trying to focus on you over the burning need coiling in her own gut. Humans are so confusing…

how about enemies to lovers with lwj and wwx. but with a yandere mix. I want to know how would they deal with someone they hate but also can't let go?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
tw !! yandere themes
sooooo much hate-fucking involved with their darling. as I said in one of my previous confessions for these two, you would become so disorientated with their differences, but in this case it would be so different. they'd both have one common goal and will do anything to reach it: fucking your lights out until you splutter out how you were wrong, how you belong to them, how you will need no one else but them
they're both equally as merciless, with lwj biting and marking you up, stealing your breath away with kisses while wwx makes a wreck of your hole, making you cry out for both of them so pathetically

hi!! I just found this blog and I can't say I don't absolutely love it!!
I just read poly lan zhan and wei wuxian.
so I'm wondering if you could write something like that!! maybe with a really strong reader or the reader from the wen clan.
I would prefer male reader but I understand if you want to make it gn!!
love your work by the way!! <3
Thank you for your support, omg I’m sorry I’ve been on an unofficial break and had a lot to return to! Thanks for understanding with the GN reader since that’s what I’m most comfortable with!
I tend to write separate headcanons for them but tbh, at this point I’m going to write them together. I’ve seen the animation (donghua) and the live action, currently reading the novels! The animation and the drama are a bit different, in the drama the Wen Clan was a part of the event the Gusu clan held but in the animation, that wasn’t a thing so I’m going to stick with the animation. WWX did meet Wen Ning during the sunshot campaign if I remember correctly? Regardless, the Wen clan are slightly hated at this point. Minus the exceptions (Wen Ning and Wen Qing’s small branch), the Wen clan is full of arrogant and ego full assholes who nobody likes. While you try your hardest not to be like them, people still lump you with them.
I like to think that LWJ doesn’t exactly hold any negative emotions towards you, you’re just. . .there. WWX however, is a mix. You’re apart of the Wen clan so at first he may be a bit like on guard, but he’s not one to judge too quickly so he waits to see how you are before affirming his belief. Once he deems you’re not a threat and just misunderstood, he tries to do that playful teasing.
“You’re a sight for sore eyes, normally the Wen clan is full of inexperienced yet proud members.”
While he may be correct, it hurts to have your name disrespected. You try to avoid WWX as much as possible and focus on your mission, but he’s always around. I think the main point is what you chose to do when the Wen Clan tries to take control. Are you going to stand up for the others or are you going to assert power. LWJ, I’m gonna be honest, I don’t see him liking anyone other than WWX, so while I have written headcanons for him in the romantic sense, he’s doing it for WWX. LWJ may end up forming platonic feelings, but probably not romantic. So having that in mind, I think LWJ would enjoy knowing that even in the Wen Clan, there are still some good people. He’d probably give advice or support you, try to guide you into doing the right thing. WWX is probably the person who probably thinks power dynamics are somewhat attractive. He loves assertion! I don’t exactly have much to add, during the battle they probably hope you haven’t died or on apposing sides. When the small Wen Clan branch is being murdered they also hope you have gotten to safety. WWX would probably try his hardest to ensure you survive. LWJ would also, he really admires the strength you have to go against your own clan even if it’s wrong (secretly until after WWX dies because he did go against his clan and received I think 300 slashes?)

I am not sure if I can ask this but hello nice to meet ya, can I send an ask of yandere Lan Ling.
I am writing this assuming that the reader is the master of Chaldea.
{Lan Ling}
Lan Ling is definitely one of the best yanderes to have. He is a gentleman and would never want to upset his partner in any way. That goes for harming other servants as well. Unless they're servants with a past of being evil and are still acting cruel.
He would hold off on confessing any feelings until he knows that his confession is good enough.
One of the reasons why he'd be so hesitant to confess is because he's unsure whether or they'd prefer if he wore his mask or not. He knows the master understands that his mask brings him comfort, but he doesn't want them to see him as weird.
He often follows the master around Chaldea to find out their favorite foods and practice making them so he can prepare dinner for when he confesses. He'd also listen in conversations when they're talking about their interests to study them for conversations during dinner.
Once he's finally ready for dinner, he doesn't wear his mask even with how nervous he feels being alone with the master.
After that, it just depends on if they agree to being in a relationship with him or not.
If yes, he'll thank them for giving him a chance before politely kissing the back of their hand.
Now, he'll take every opportunity to be around them. Asking them to ride horses with him, eating every meal together, and slowly starting to share a room together.
He tries not to worry about the relationship or be jealous of other servants. But some of them don't take the hint that the master is taken. Since he doesn't want to get into a fight that would potentially upset his new partner. He does the sensible thing and slowly isolates them from other servants/Chaldea staff.
If they were to reject him, he would be heartbroken. He doesn't think it's their fault, though. It's his, and he needs to do more research on them and what they want.
At first, after the rejection, he would avoid them and try to forget about his feelings. But it's hard when they're the only master around. So, he has to them often and watch them get along with other servant.
Following them, he writes down everything they take interest in. He gets to the point where he'll break into their room to see if there's anything they're keeping from everyone.
He does get slightly jealous when they're around other servants. Especially when they're getting along. Since most servants don't wear masks regularly like him, he'll start to wonder if that's the cause.

❝ [𝓑𝓲𝓽𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓼𝔀𝓮𝓮𝓽 (𝐘𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐗𝐮𝐞 𝐘𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐱 𝐗𝐢𝐚𝐨 𝐗𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐧) ] ❞
【𝒮𝓊𝓂𝓂𝒶𝓇𝓎】: Xiǎo Xīngchén learns the truth on who he’s been living with and escapes safely, but he’s not okay.
【𝒲𝒶𝓇𝓃𝒾𝓃𝑔(𝓈)】: Yandere themes (yandere behavior is NOT okay), paranoia, sad Xīngchén, uh, Xuē Yáng definitely needs a warning of his own 🤪, maybe bad grammar 😳, violence and some blood.
【𝒜/𝒩】: It’s been a while. I sorry🙇. This probably will have a part 2, or I’ll leave it like this and give Xiǎo Xīngchén a break 😅. Mdzs kinda got me by my balls, but I did get my sk8 and love for Cherry ignited again, but I gotta long 5 days of work comin🥲🤧. I’m trying y’all, but I hope you like this! 🥺👉🏼👈🏼. Oh! Also there’s some Sòng Lán and Xiǎo Xīngchén fluff/romance cause… I love, love. Also also! Please be gentle if ya got any criticism 😅, this my first time writing the Yi city folks (minus Xuē Yáng).
Tumblr media
Xiǎo Xīngchén felt like the world was ending right then and there. His mind was spinning, dread swelling in his belly, bile about to project from his throat, but most of all, he can feel himself wanting to be in denial.
But how could he?
How could he deny the words his longtime friend told him? They had to be true! Why would Sòng Lán lie?
Xiǎo Xīngchén didn’t want to believe it but he had no choice.
It made him feel so… Deceived and he feels like a fool. All this time…
Xuē Yáng had been with him for the past three years and has been using his blindness to kill innocents.
“Xīngchén…,” Sòng Lán murmurs, his voice sounding a bit faint to the blind cultivator.
His hands move slowly to grasp Sòng Lán, swaying a bit. “S-Sòng… Lán,” he whispers in a broken tone.
The long-haired man grips Xiǎo Xīngchén in a secure grip at his forearms, moving him to sit down so that he doesn’t collapse and hurt himself.
Ā-Qìng sits beside him and hesitantly takes his hand in hers, squeezing it gently before leaning on him.
At first it was just small whimpers, but then it turned into heartbroken sobbing, breaking the two’s hearts.
Ā-Qìng’s brows eventually furrow the more she listens to Xiǎo Xīngchén. She knew he was in love with that man- even though she personally didn’t really trust him. He loves him and then finds out it’s his mortal enemy… Ā-Qìng grew angry the further she thought about it and she wanted to hit Xuē Yáng’s ugly mug.
“Xiǎo Xīngchén, I don’t mean to rush you, but we need to get moving before he finds us.”
The man in white stands up with a sniffle and has Ā-Qìng guide him around the coffin house to gather up their belongings. As the trio fled from Yi City, the sightless man remained quiet the entire time, and neither of the two pushed him to speak or to say anything themselves.
Tumblr media
Xuē Yáng strolls into the yard of the coffin house, whistling a tune with his hands behind his head. The youthful looking ravenette has just gotten back from the market, having brought himself some candy and a pretty hair piece for his little Dàozháng (he totally threatened the shop owner for it too).
It’s quite quiet and Xuē Yáng is surprised when he doesn’t hear the little brat yapping away to Xiǎo Xīngchén.
“Xiǎo Xīngchén~! I’m home~!”
He expected to hear Ā-Qìng barking at him now, followed by Xīngchén’s lovely voice and appearing around the corner to come and greet him.
But that didn’t happen.
Xuē Yáng just chuckles and closes the door, moving deeper in the place he called home with the two. “Are you sleeping or are you wanting to play~?” he coos, but still gets no response. He slithers over to the bedroom he and Xiǎo Xīngchén shared and opens the door quietly, expecting to see his peaceful Dàozháng sleeping in bed, but it was empty.
The red eyed man pouts, eyebrows furrowed. “Eh? Where are you?” The ponytailed man searches the coffin house, looking for a sign or a note even, but there was nothing. The emptiness was starting to settle and swallow him whole. He had rushed back into the bedroom to check the drawers and when he found them empty, it finally sank in.
He and the brat were gone.
‘But why!?’ he wonders furiously, pale hands clenched tightly, frantic at this point. ‘M-Maybe he’s doing a solo hunt and forgot to tell me…? Maybe his clothes are gone because he’s taking a longer trip...?! Or maybe they need repairs! He’s not gone, he’s not gone, hesnotgone!’ he thought, trying to drown himself in denial to keep himself calm, but he’s too smart to believe that. “No… He’d tell me, and he wouldn’t take the brat with him if he did and she has no friends,” he spits.
Xuē Yáng smashes his fist into the wall, taking deep breaths to try and contain himself. He starts pacing tight circles, wondering where Xiǎo Xīngchén was, how far was he, could he make it back in time to drag him back home, who dares to take his Dàozháng away from him-!?
And just like that it hits him. His teeth are clenched so tightly his veins are popping out. There’s only one person and he knows exactly who it is…
“That rat bastard!” he hisses, throwing a porcelain towards a wall, not flinching as it shatters loudly. “That fucking Sòng Zǐchēn! Why couldn’t you just stay away!?”
After he continued to throw his fit of rage, he plopped himself down onto the wooden table, elbows rested on his knees and his head hung down, a mess of broken furniture surrounding him. He was quiet as a mouse until chuckles of disbelief and mild amusement escaped him.
“Oh, Xiǎo Xīngchén… You think you can escape from me…? I’ll always find you, and this time you won’t slip away from me. I swear it.”
Tumblr media
Xiǎo Xīngchén is running for his life, heart beating loudly in his ears as Xuē Yáng’s bone chilling, mocking laughter echoes around him. He keeps cooing and screaming his name, speaks of the times they spent together, and of course was cruel enough to bring up the times they’ve slept together.
It was like a punch to the gut. It disgusted and hurt him.
No matter how fast he ran, Xuē Yáng was getting closer and closer, further panicking Xiǎo Xīngchén. Suddenly, white hot pain is felt across his back, and he cries out in agony, tumbling down into the dirt and scraping himself up in the twigs, roots, rocks, and thorny shrubs. Xiǎo Xīngchén groans and whimpers, feeling the night air chill his burnings wounds, head throbbing as well.
Xuē Yáng closes in on him at a tauntingly slow pace, giggling as he had successfully incapacitated his prize.
Xiǎo Xīngchén soon feels him stop and it’s eerily silent for a moment, spiking his fear even more and small sobs starts escaping him, but they cease the moment he feels cold metal poking his face and throat, slightly slick with blood, his blood.
“I caught you, Dàozháng~!” he sings, and the wounded man resumes sobbing, though sounding a bit more frantic this time. He soon feels Xuē Yáng’s weight on his chest after turning him onto his back. He feels his cold hands touching his face and he clicks tongue about how he had cut off some of his hair.
“Oh, well. You still look lovely~.”
“I hate you…,” Xiǎo Xīngchén spits brokenly, his arms remaining limp at his sides despite trying to move them. “I hate you!”
The man that haunts him grips his cheeks tightly. “I don’t care if you hate me. You’re mine and mine alone, Xiǎo Xīngchén~. I’LL NEVER LET YOU GO!”
Tumblr media
Xiǎo Xīngchén wakes up with a startled gasp, back in his bed.
Realizing he was here and not being chased by Xuē Yáng in the middle of the woods he starts to silently sob into his hands before muffling them more into his pillow.
This has been going on for almost a month now, and even though the man has been assured many times that he’s safe, he hasn’t been able to be at ease. Xuē Yáng still haunts him and what’s worse he hasn’t been caught or killed yet. He’s still out there and the blindfolded man knows he’s furious, and nothing will stop him, he knows it…
Why hasn’t Xuē Yáng hurt him before is something he’s wondered ever since being rescued. Ever since he turned him in, Xuē Yáng had promised him that they'd meet again, and it certainly was a threat.
“Trust me… We will meet again. Remember me, Dàozháng~.”
Xiǎo Xīngchén eventually came to two conclusions.
Xuē Yáng wanted to toy and humiliate him before ending his life. Or…
Xuē Yáng may have actually fallen in love with him…
It choked him up, the second option. He fell in love with a murder who killed many innocents, someone who tried to kill his best friend…
Xiǎo Xīngchén feels like a complete fool. A fool still in love with someone who wasn’t real…
Eventually he leaves his room, unable to remain there any longer. He finds himself once again standing at Sòng Lán’s door and he’s not sure how long he’s been standing there, fist hovering up but not moving. Heat warms his face, and he lets out an aggravated and distressed breath of air, and just as he’s about to retreat the door opens.
“Xīngchén,” the long ravenette greets quietly, giving him a sad smile.
The man in white has no words and remains frozen on the spot, as if he was slain by his trusty sword, Frost.
“Do you wish to come in?”
The sightless man only nods, head tilted down towards the wooden floors. Sòng Lán lets him inside and shuts the door behind him softly while Xiǎo Xīngchén takes his time getting into the bed and gets comfortable. He snuggles into his closet friend the moment he joins back into the bed.
It’s not the first time he’s done this but Xiǎo Xīngchén still gets a bit red in the face and nervous... And guilty.
Sòng Lán lays facing him, staring at Xiǎo Xīngchén's face and drinking in every detail, still worried that he may disappear again. “Do you want to talk about it…?” he whispers, hand brushing his.
The blind Taoist takes it. “I’m scared… Tired… The usual. I want it to be over so badly, but I don’t think it will be possible until he’s dead…,” he answers softly while playing with Sòng Lán’s fingers. He could go on and on, but he’d just be repeating himself.
He lets out a shaky sigh and the dark robed Taoist gently brushes the hair from the blind man’s face, hesitantly holding his cheek afterwards, and Xiǎo Xīngchén holds it in place.
“I’m sorry… There is not much I can say, but we will find Xuē Yáng and he will be dealt with accordingly. It’ll be okay, Xīngchén.”
It’ll be okay. It’ll be okay.
But Xiǎo Xīngchén doesn’t believe it, hasn’t believed it since being rescued…
“I trust you, Sòng Lán…”

lwj’s actions towards wwx during the period he was dead wouldve been perceived as creepy and obsessive if he wasnt hot and rich and this can prob be applied to other danmei characters w their propensity for excessive showcases of devotion but it is funny or at least interesting to see where the line between romance and obsession is drawn this isn’t necessarily intended as hate towards wx in particular but more of an observation on this trope of obsessive borderline fanatical devotion from one party in a relationship as equating to true love but in this case for wx like imagine lwj pining all those yrs getting rejected by wwx which wouldve been a very real possibilty considering the fact that wwx didnt rly know lwj pre-death that well… the devotion is just crazy considering the fact that wwx coming back only happened bc of nhs and lwj would have spent the rest of his life as a sad widow otherwise perhaps it would have been more compelling if lwj played an active role in wwx’s revival or revenge against jgy for wwx’s sake and xichen instead of being a somewhat unwilling pawn in nhs’s revenge plot… bc if his only personality trait is loving wwx than theoretically he should have done more to get wwx back than just playing inquiry although ig that’s going in the direction of yandere lwj willing to sacrifice mxy to bring wwx back which perhaps isn’t all that different from canon lwj mhmmmmmm
lol it’s danmei; many things that would be creepy and obsessive irl are cute in novels. also yeah, other danmei leads probably have the same or more levels of devotion. but i agree if lwj was ugly it’d likely be interpreted as obsessive and not devoted.
yeah it’d definitely at least be more interesting if he’d played a more active role; or if he had gotten more consequences for his actions in saving wwx and attacking those elders. eg. if he was kicked out the sect, then having him pretend to be the rich lan er-gongzi to wwx when he’s actually penniless and doesn’t have that title anymore would give him a bit more character depth. as he is he’s very much a blank slate which. fine for an extra but for a main love interest is somewhat lacking.

It's all empty
Tumblr media
you have never considered yourself a special follower of the dragon sect — but you are more than obliged to Qingheng-jun and are close to Lan Qiren to understand that the only way you can pay your moral duty and fulfill the role of a friend is to stay by side until your time comes.
it's not that you have a long time left — phoenixes don't have the same ambiguous or long lifespan — but you don't regret the thought of spending the rest like this. after all, Qingheng-jun's kids are adorable, and although you love to pamper and play with LAN XICHEN, letting him be a child while his uncle is not watching, having come to terms with your personality since you were young, — but teasing little thoughtful LAN WANGJI is also fun.
he's just so closed and quiet, even at such a tender age — what will happen when he grows up? you conspiratorially say Lan Qiren when you continue to squeeze his nephews, but Lan Qiren for the first time in front of them looks more like he's even ready to let you set fire to the house, so long as you don't bother him, and to curious eyes you just say that you have your secrets. after all, everyone has their secrets, right? — here you can force the strictest dragon in the world to put up with you, as long as you don't start switching to heavy artillery — LAN XICHEN looks at you with admiration with big shining eyes, while LAN WANGJI timidly accepts hugs.
cuties, cutest little dragons.
they love you, don't they?
constantly follow you, seek your presence and willingly allow themselves to hide in your arms, as if seeking protection from the whole world — you can only gently embrace them, cradling, pressing to your heart.
cute little dragons.
LAN XICHEN and LAN WANGJI are hard and not like ordinary children, but you are sure that they will grow strong and gentle — you just have to cover them with your wings, making sure that they do not repeat after their father or their uncle. they should not become part of this circle.
LAN XICHEN is obedient and noble; LAN WANGJI is thoughtful and gentle. they are both like moonlight and winter morning. all this is empty — you think when carefully take them out into the city, trying to somehow awaken their interest beyond being perfect and well-mannered.
you don't dare blame Lan Qiren — you know what he's like — but you also understand that anyone can't raise children like him. and neither like you.
but what can you do?
not that you'll ever have phoenix-dragon hatchling hybrids.
when you carefully break a piece of a three-piece mantou, giving them your part, even if both LAN XICHEN and LAN WANGJI try not to give out what they liked it, you just want to squeeze their cheeks, hide them in your arms and never let them go.
LAN XICHEN and LAN WANGJI like to hug, although the latter is more sticky; LAN XICHEN is more willing to seek approval and praise, trustingly poking into your palm, trying to see what will make you happy. LAN WANGJI has expressive eyes in which what he feels always floats, even if his face is like the untouched surface of a winter lake; LAN XICHEN'S hands tremble slightly when he is under pressure, but his smile is almost perfectly trained, even if you still see excitement and anxiety in his eyes.
LAN WANGJI is deeply immersed in himself and builds a bubble; LAN XICHEN is afraid to look inside himself, but willingly curls into a ball when you stroke him, allowing what none of you will allow anyone else. LAN WANGJI gets up early — always — but may not sleep for a long time, although he prefers morning. LAN XICHEN gets up early, but prefers late evening and early night, enjoying the time when it is impossible to see each other's faces.
their horns are beautiful, like their father's, and exquisitely curved. The tail of LAN WANGJI is lighter in hue, but the horns of LAN XICHEN have a more catchy coral shade.
you are so fond of two little dragons that are no longer small, but still looking up at you from the bottom up, like your chicks, who are growing faster and faster every year.
the two of them have cool hands, but that only means their hearts are hot.
the real dragons.
your precious ones.
when LAN WANGJI cries, he always puffs out his cheeks, frowning, while big tears drip from his bright eyes like red-hot gold, and even his tail hits the ground as if warning; LAN XICHEN cries more defenselessly, with a frightened, alarmed expression, like a hunted animal, and his tail freezes in place, trembling.
they are completely different.
you really hope they won't cry.
phoenixes are reborn from their own ashes, so one day you will definitely come back.
definitely.
...
the only thing you regret is that you didn't have time to say 'goodbye'.

The Jellyfish Haircut for reference for anyone who hasn’t seen it:

The main difference between the usual jellyfish style and Lan’s haircut is that instead of having side-swept bangs, she has her bangs covering her eyes 🥰
