I was watching Avengers the other day and noticed something I haven't ever joined the dots on before.
In this shot of Barton just before he shoots the arrow at the helicarrier, he's pale, sweating, and has dark circles under his eyes. I can only assume this is due to having been under the influence of the sceptre for the last few days.
Tumblr media
And then there's this more familiar shot of Loki having just come through the tesseract's portal...
Tumblr media
...pale, sweating, and with dark circles under his eyes.
Barton still has those bright blue eyes that indicate he's under the direct influence of the sceptre, and Loki doesn't.
So what I'm concluding from this is that Loki was recently under the direct influence of the sceptre just before he was sent to earth.
This direct control was removed before he was sent, but he remains under the more indirect influence that the sceptre has on people nearby (e.g. the Avengers on the helicarrier). We see his physical health improve the longer he's on earth, which would work with this theory, and this is the same as how Barton recovers after the influence is removed.
I'd never subscribed to the theory that Loki was under the direct control of the sceptre at any point during Avengers, but this makes me think it's very likely he was being directly controlled by it for a period of time shortly before he was sent to earth.
Maybe this was some form of conditioning? Maybe it's easier for the sceptre to influence someone indirectly after they've been directly connected with it? I don't know. Possibly these effects were due to something else, but since Endgame we know it's not travel by tesseract that causes this. Although there's a possibility whatever the SHIELD scientists did on this end of the portal could have had some effect. But it's just too similar a set of symptoms to be unrelated.
I curse it again that we were never given more of Loki's story with Thanos in the series or the Avengers films!!!

I love domestic Avengers with my whole heart. Showing that they're not just superheros but people too. People that make stupid jokes and love their families and get sick and fail and have parties and mess around and act like children sometimes.

Love seeing fics from 2012 that make Loki a vindicated blorbo and Thanos the main villain for the Avengers. They were correct

I like the idea of Loki being one of the only people who knows Spider-Man’s identity, because Spiderman is the only one who’s been able to consistently trick the trickster god
And he does it once as Peter Parker when it’s a situation where he can’t switch into his costume, and Loki puts it together like “you!”
But because he’s not actually one of Spidey’s rogues, he doesn’t have to really worry about Loki purposely revealing his identity, but he does have to worry about him unthinkingly revealing it, like seeing him when he’s out taking pics for the Bugle and yelling “Man of Spiders!”

I think I wasn't really ready for this episode to tie together the events with Loki's entire arc. I expected it to tie up the plots of the season, maybe setting up future ones, which it kind of did but,
The way it tied up/referenced/came full circle with the first Thor movie? And The Avengers? That is what makes it hit different for me. It showed a love for the character that just got to me.

I need there to be an emotional scene in Secret Wars or Thor 5 or whatever when, after Loki’s out of the tree and the war is won etc, Thor expects Loki to stay in New Asgard with him, but Loki declines and says he’s returning to the TVA.
Something along the lines of “I’m not your Loki, your Loki is dead. This was his home, not mine. I’m sorry he never got to see it. But I have my own home, and they’re waiting for me by that time door. So..”
I just think it would annihilate me :)

I can’t stop thinking about Loki’s and Thor’s age difference:
Allegedly, Loki was 1047 years old in the first Avengers movie
Thor says he’s 1500 years old in Infinity War
Those two incidents are six years apart, which means that Loki was 1053 years old in Infinity War
Which, in turn, means that Thor and Loki have an age difference of 447 years
But the thing is: in the first Thor movie during the flashback to their childhood, they looked like they had an age gap of two years tops. From looks alone and speaking in human terms, Thor seemed to be about eleven years old and Loki looked like a nine, maybe ten-year-old to me.
And since Asgardians (and probably Jotuns as well) have a lifespan of about 5000 years, according to Loki in TDW, it’s unnecessary to say that they age slower than humans because it’s obvious.
So, what? Are 447 years, say 500, the equivalent to two years in human terms? Was Thor running around like a seemingly two-year-old when Odin came back with baby Loki in his arms?
I’m not even thinking about it on purpose, it just crosses my mind whenever I start writing another draft fic. Most of the time, it’s not even relevant to the plot, I just like to know every little detail to avoid plotholes and in case it does get mentioned.

if you told 2012 me that Loki ascended to the highest throne in the multiverse and is now the god of time 2012 me would’ve looked at you with stars in their eyes

ATTENTION TO ALL FROSTIRON FANS!!
Epic edit: we now have a dedicated blog for that!! www.tumblr.com/takingoncrazythangscomic and from now on all the fresh info will be there!!
I'm a big fan of Loki and Tony parring, and right now I'm drawing a frostiron fan-comic!! I'm on the final sketches part of the first 10 pages, and I think it's about time I start telling the world about it in an advertising way!
It'll be probably 200-300 pages story (idk tbh, I've never drawn a full fleshed comic before) taking place after avengers 2012. It's a fusion between MCU and Marvel Comics, so yes, this story is ✨ canon-divergence ✨!
I'm not the writer! The one behind this beautiful story is @burdenedwithpointlesspurpose. We're working together on this project and both of us are super hyped 💪
Here's some concept art for Loki's clothing for a comic ❤️❤️
Tumblr media
And a couple of panels from it!

I'm still looking for a place where I should post this comic. I'll definitely make a Tumblr page for it, but I'm open for more suggestions!
✨ Follow my social media for more updates!! ✨

Time loop fic but it’s just Thor stuck confronting Loki during Avengers 1 except Loki is actually evil this time and wants Thor dead so Thor just. keeps dying. He tries not to hurt Loki the first few loops but keeps getting killed and starts taking it personally so he steps up his game to actually try to win/kill Loki back but he still keeps losing.

I was thinking about an Avengers/ Norse Mythology crossover where Loki crashes an Avenger party Lokisenna style, kills the servant, insults everyone, admits to having killed Baldr and gets beaten up at the end, and suddenly I realised that this is the actual fucking plot of the first Avengers movie. Earth is the party he crashes, the servant is the facility he destroys, the insults are continuous and the last straw, the thing that leads to his defeat and Hulk pummeling is Loki killing Coulson, the nice unassuming guy that everyone liked.
Coulson is fucking Baldr.
Fury is Odin, Nat would be Freya? Hulk is probably a second version of Thor. Not sure about Clint, Steve and Tony yet, but I'm sure I can make them fit.
And Coulson is fucking Baldr!
The Avengers movie is the Lokisenna, peeps.
I wouldn't even be surprised anymore if that had been deliberate parallelism.
