Hey authors, illustrators, or anyone working on a creative project. I recently opened my book trailer/audiobook/voice over service and if you need someone to produce any of these please contact me at [email protected]! I have worked with clients like Candlewick, HarperCollins, KidLit TV and more and have been working on this service for 4+ years. Here’s what I work on:
- A book trailer for your picture books, novels or comics/webcomics. - A voice over for your project. - An audiobook for your picture books, novels or comics.
I use professional programs and have an in-home studio for the best quality work. We will discuss prices by email! Please share the news, especially if you have any friends who need something like this created for them. For more information visit: https://katyastecva.com
Thank you!

Dear young creators,
YouTube is sometimes like high school where there are the popular kids who follow the trends and the outcasts who do their own thing. It's tough to be a creator sometimes and it's tough to believe in the work that you put out there. You create what makes YOU happy. Never feel forced to follow the trends, and don't be like those people who just follow the trends for views/subscribers.
This goes out to all the writers, artists, animators, cartoonists, YouTubers and overall creators who feel as if they have to change to make others happy. Only change for you. Only do you!

Hey guys. Okay so I really, really need your help right now and if you can’t donate please share this because this took a lot of courage to even talk about. My family and I have been living like this for years and have never spoken up about it since everyone we know has basically screwed us over and said, “We can’t help you” or “We don’t want to help you.” We were shunned and thrown aside despite helping all those people. In other words, we were used and abused.
And I’ve had enough of this. I’m not afraid to speak up anymore.
My mom is a victim of domestic abuse and because of financial issues, her abuser still has to live with us. The abuse has gotten better (because he doesn’t dare hurt her physically anymore) but there’s still the straining mental abuse that goes on every day.
Here’s a video she made speaking up about her abuse when she finally had the confidence to say something after watching the Detroit Become Human game trailer:

I need to give my mom the life she deserves, a life she has never had for over 20+ years. She has no idea I’m doing this because she has always been too afraid to speak up. It will also restore her faith in humanity and help her realize that there are still good people left in the world.
If you can’t donate please, please, please share the news. If you have ever been abused before or have been through domestic abuse/violence then you know how hard this is for my mom. Thank you for reading this far, and thank you for helping my mom. Bless you all!

Hey Katya , I wanted to ask you something about YouTube. I know you still have a job as a social media worker, but I‘m kind of curious how fast you mark comments with a heart ❤️ or write back. I sometimes notice that you respond pretty fast and sometimes I see new comments are unanswered. I am really interested how you do it with your comments, especially when new comments are coming😊😊😊❤️.
Tumblr media
I usually respond to much shorter comments first since they are easier to read when I am working. Later on in the week, usually during the weekends I respond to longer comments to put more thought into my response! Thanks for reaching out!

Hello there! I’ve been down in the dumps recently, dealing with some mental health issues. After finding your channel and seeing our common interests in games such as Uncharted, The Walking Dead, The Last Of Us, and Life Is Strange. Your uploads have been one of the things I look forward to the most to help me relax. Thanks for what you do! Keep it up!

I’m so glad to hear that! Gaming truly is like therapy and has helped so many people better their mental health and also let’s us discover new versions of ourselves! It’s also great to know that MiscatSquad has become a place to relax for you!

Hi Kat! First off, happy belated birthday! Hope u had a wonderful bday. ;) Try not to be hard on yourself. Success is not built on success. Its built on failure. Its built on frustration. Sometimes its built on catastrophe. Congrats on your almost 10k subs! Well deserved Kat. I've been a loyal #1fan since the dawn of times lol. Here's to 10 thousand more. Keep up to good work and always stay true to yourself. "Fight for the things u care about but do it in a way that will lead others to join u."

Thank you so much for your kind words. Honestly needed this today since I’ve been a little under the weather. Why I appreciate your kindness is also because it’s sometimes hard to see other “girl gamers” get an extreme amount of support for being typical “gamer girls” while they hardly put any effort/work into their videos. We ALL know the type I’m talking about.
I’m getting much better at coping with this, but it’s still tough since I put hours/days of effort into my work. I’m always quality above quantity so when I see how it works on YouTube being the other way around it really gets to me sometimes.
I need to keep reminding myself that “Greatness from small beginnings” and that I will one day be able to do YouTube fulltime. It’s tough and stressful being a creator sometimes and I know my heart isn’t full just yet. But I’m glad that I can show a more vulnerable side of myself on the channel to let you guys know how I am feeling. You’re my friends, my squad and my family so even I need to admit that I have bad days sometimes.
Thank you again for all the love, my friend! Let’s keep striving for our dreams!

Being creative means sometimes you’ll get competitive and start comparing yourself to others. It’s not healthy and sometimes causes you to burn out, stress and doubt your own creative abilities.
A part of the process in learning to heal is to not only forgive the people who made you feel so competitive and bad about yourself and work, but to forgive yourself.
Here’s a personal story. A few months ago I was extremely competitive, so much that I ended up burning myself out and stressing people I loved. I’m not a huge YouTuber, and I’m not a typical gamer either. My channel took a huge amount of time to get where I wanted it to be, becoming so many different things at once instead of focusing on one main goal.
To be honest, it really bothered me (to the point of almost quitting) that so many newer girl gamers got so much recognition and support after only being on YouTube for a few months. They jumped on trend bandwagons and acted like every other girl gamer out there (oh heck you know how they act, let’s be real), considering themselves to be “original”.
Of course everyone has their own cup of tea, but to see them gain 1,000 of subscribers for even producing something that wasn’t even high quality, getting the amount of support they did hurt me so much.
Was I wrong to think that way? Yes. Should I have let it bother me? No. The content I produce is high quality, taking days to complete with the team I have put together over the last few months. Am I proud of that? Yes.
The advice in this video isn’t coming from someone who has that huge following, but does that matter? No. I’m still human, consider me a friend if you’d like. Numbers shouldn’t make me think any less of my content because I know I did my best and that looking at someone else’s work shouldn’t bother me.
I’ve been able to connect with an amazing audience, have helped others and charities and have really made some awesome friends along the way. Today I still suffer from my competitive nature, but I’m beginning to forgive myself and others. It’s a beautiful feeling to have once you just wake up one day and say, “You know what, I just don’t care anymore about what others have. I’m me, and no one can do what I do and that’s that.”
Trust me, I’m still trying to better myself and I know it’s hard. I’ve been on both sides of the fence. So maybe one day you and I will both be better versions of ourselves. Let’s keep on doing our best and never give up.
